Comments that after considering the responses of 1994 and 1994 and reviewing additional reports by these authors, the conclusions drawn by G. V. Barrett and R. L. Depinet’s article on ‘competence testing’ are reinforced. If McClelland’s concept of competencies is to make a contribution to psychology, he must present empirical data to support his contention.
