Narcotics detectives arrested three suspects in Hermitage on Thursday and charged each with possession of 5,000 Xanax pills for resale, according to a Metro police news release.

Narcotics detectives, with the assistance of the Hermitage Precinct's Crime Suppression Unit and U.S. postal inspectors, executed a search warrant at 411 Brooksmill Circle after a package arrived containing 5,000 Xanax pills. Detectives charged Markuite Matthews, 20; Demarcus Blue, 22; and Andrevious Rayner, 18, with possession of Xanax for resale, since all three denied ownership of the package. Detectives say they observed Matthews opening the package on the balcony.

Matthews, Blue and Rayner posted $15,000 bonds.

A person in California alleged to have been responsible sending the Xanax was taken into custody at the end of last week.
