TRENTON — A Trenton man was arrested on drug charges after he accepted a package at his home containing 100 individual units of LSD, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office alleged.

Michael Regan, 25, was apprehended at 8 a.m. Thursday when prosecutor's detectives and federal agents burst into his Union Street home with a search warrant after watching him accept the package, the prosecutor's office said in a release.

Regan's wife was detained during a search of their home in the 300 block, but she was not charged with any crimes, the statement said.

Prosecutor's spokeswoman Kathleen Petrucci, an assistant prosecutor, said the package came from the Netherlands and had been intercepted by authorities prior to being delivered to the couple's home. An undercover officer then mad a "controlled delivery" of the package Thursday morning.

After Regan accepted the package, officers entered the home and located the parcel, which had been opened and was in a spare bedroom. Inside were 100 "hits" of LSD, the statement said. Also recovered in the room were test kits for LSD.

A small quantity of marijuana oil was located in the master bedroom of the home, the statement said. The estimated street value of the LSD is $2,500 and the marijuana $150.

Regan was charged with multiple possession and possession with intent to distribute drugs within school and park zone counts. Regan was taken to the Trenton police lockup on $75,000 bail Thursday, and was still being held there Friday morning.

Assisting the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force with the investigation and arrest were agents from U.S. Homeland Security, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the United States Air Force, Office Of Special Investigations.

On social media sites, Regan is listed as being in, or recently being in, the U.S. Air Force.
