to
mimic expressions of interpersonal emotional reactions, such as

Empathy is a multifaceted construct that includes a cognitive component
(understanding
an
other's emotional state), an affective component
(‘feeling with’
an
other)
and a motivational component (feeling concern for
an
other with a willingness to invest
effort in improving their well

being)

When successful, human empathy offers substantial
benefits
. Sharing another's pain or joy fosters a profound sense of mutual understanding
and togetherness, associated with physiological and neural synchrony
