I made a series on pyramids overgrown by nature and got some amazing results. Out of random curiosity I put “vignette” as a negative prompt and it wildly altered my results, it turned my pictures into volcanic wastelands with pyramid-deities floating in the sky. So that was pretty cool

Edit: since this got a good reception, I’ll make a post with my pyramid series. Also if anyone has any requests (as long as they are even loosely pyramid related) I’ll pick some and include them!

[–]NotYetGroot 17 points18 points  (2 children)

are you sure you added a negative prompt and not a few grams of DMT?

[–]FatalisCogitationis 15 points16 points  (1 child)

I always add a little DMT to my prompts

[–]sf_Lordpiggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you have to be careful of the negative DMT prompt.

Things get real, REAL FAST!

[–]sanasigma 18 points19 points  (2 children)

I'm saving this

[–]FatalisCogitationis 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I commented the prompts in this thread, if you want to see. Might share some pics too if there’s interest

[–]diglyd 4 points5 points  (8 children)

Can you share a specific prompt? I'm trying to make some deities and pyramids that look rather otherworldly.

[–]FatalisCogitationis 14 points15 points  (7 children)

I don’t have the exact prompt, but do have some similar prompts I was using for testing purposes at the time. Very simple prompts gave me excellent results, any time I saw something interesting I’d keep the seed and then mess with the config and steps to see what could be made. Then take it to imgtoimg or inpaint to finalize. Usually people then use photoshop but I don’t wanna mess with that so I just spent extra time doing those steps. Here’s three examples.

Prompt: Tree roots on a pyramid, colossal scale, warm colors, surreal Negative Prompt: vignette

Prompt: tree roots on a pyramid, steampunk technology, forest landscape, colossal scale, warm colors, surreal With and without negative prompt: vignette

Prompt: ornate pyramid, magma storm, colossal scale, stunning atmosphere, cyberpunk, depth of field, Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun That one was me trying to lean into my accidental discovery.

And bonus prompt that gave me incredible results no matter what I did and is relevant to your specific situation with a few changes; Prompt: bismuth skull inside a pyramid, Aztec paintings, laughter, hyperdetailed, surrealism, vibrant colors Don’t ask about “laughter”. It resulted in some absolutely amazing looking dinosaur-bone-skull architecture on the pyramids.

[–]diglyd 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Thank you for the reply and for taking the time and effort to try to help me out and make some cool prompts.

I tried all of them and unfortunately for me they all came out like a bust. I am only using the web ui Protogen 3.4 demo model.

The tree prompt gave me this https://i.imgur.com/WDv0Sdj.pngand the other one gave me this https://i.imgur.com/n2f6B2B.png which was pretty cool.

bismuth skull inside a pyramid, Aztec paintings, laughter, hyperdetailed, surrealism, vibrant colors Don’t ask about “laughter”. It resulted in some absolutely amazing looking dinosaur-bone-skull architecture on the pyramids.

When I tried your prompt with Protogen model I got this https://i.imgur.com/KDeyAtj.png Not exactly what I was expecting. Pretty hilarious though, lol. Second one gave me this https://i.imgur.com/y75Vabf.png

With some tweaking I got this https://i.imgur.com/6VgJUre.png

Still, not the "apocalyptic and epic" visuals I was going for. I've been trying to get this type of look but with pyramids or this https://i.imgur.com/D6r0qgv.png

However when I add pyramids they always come out more cyberpunk https://i.imgur.com/msEEiPl.png or just end up looking more sci-fi https://i.imgur.com/DNrZppO.png or https://i.imgur.com/QbCx22C.png

I had no idea it would be this hard to make a pyramid that looks ancient but isn't just a photo or picture of the great pyramid of Giza.

What I really want is either more apocalyptic like the background in this image https://i.imgur.com/Fd5knsQ.png or something that has some deity in it or ominous being

Oh, well, I guess I will keep trying to see if I can come up with anything.

Thanks for the prompts and your help, I appreciate it.

[–]FatalisCogitationis 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Your pyramids are sick, love that second one. Interesting that it got such different results, I’m gonna have to post an album now of what I got. What CFG and Step levels are you using? The sweet spot always changes from seed to seed, so if you see something even remotely having potential you can get vastly different images by altering the 3 variables besides seed (the 3rd variable being the prompt itself, which you can change but keeping the same seed leads to interesting results)

[–]diglyd 2 points3 points  (3 children)

What CFG and Step levels are you using?

I usually try steps between 20-32 or somewhere around there. CFG I change as I make revisions going from 7 to 9.5 usually. in .5 increments

most of the time I play around with different styles as well to mix things up.

here are a few other Pyramids I was able to make or things that kind of look like pyramids.

https://i.imgur.com/WC3Z9OE.png for some of these I added a city to the prompt.

Normally I make hot space babes https://i.imgur.com/PXhB2dm.png or https://i.imgur.com/WDU9yEi.pngso I'm not that familiar with making environments.

[–]FatalisCogitationis 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It depends on a number of variables but for structures and landscapes, even the more fantastical ones, I recommend more in the 12-16 cfg range. I’ve even gotten good results with 20+ but that’s rare. Below 10 I haven’t gotten much to work, maybe that will help? Yeah those are some crazy cool sci-fi-city pyramids, but I understand the allure of hot space babes… I’ve dabbled a bit myself

[–]diglyd 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I recommend more in the 12-16 cfg range.

Thank you for this tip. I will give this a try ;)

This is probably my favorite image that I managed to make that had a Pyramid in it. https://i.imgur.com/bMNBMNJ.png I probably have to photoshop out the background part behind him, but overall, I love the vibe and color scheme here.

but I understand the allure of hot space babes… I’ve dabbled a bit myself

Yeah, it's quite addicting where you say "just one more prompt", lol, especially when each image is some new gorgeous woman, in front of some cool space background.

When I make my sci-fi prompts/art, I listen to this soundtrack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AHcak434Zw&list=PLQOzEU-fKC9kWN2Nif_EQEbhV09rFVG4N playlist (65+ tracks), from the video game Stellaris so that really sets the mood, and it really gets your imagination going, especially if you want to make some space themed stuff.

I highly recommend it. It's a beautiful and inspiring synth+orchestral, both imaginative and chill OST to listen to when creating art or doing work or just relaxing. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I find it really helps with focusing and centering me, and I even use it for meditation. The track Then Comes Light from the Apocalypse expansion, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hlm93T16n8&list=PLQOzEU-fKC9kWN2Nif_EQEbhV09rFVG4N&index=42 is especially cool, and interesting to focus on. It's one of my favorites. I find it oddly calming when I loop it along with some others like Sigma Tauri, Dragon's Breath and Birth of a Star. There are some interesting overtones in that track, and that cyber beat is sick!

Sorry, I'm a big sci-fi nerd/dork! lol.

As I mentioend before, I've been on this binge of making sexy blonde space captains https://i.imgur.com/ZpGLC8g.png (another one of my favorite creations), or Mass Effect (femShep) looking space commanders https://i.imgur.com/Fr21jfo.png and galactic looking gods https://i.imgur.com/v7CluKE.jpg or beings https://i.imgur.com/I3qpnvF.png.

I'm just trying to figure out how I could utilize the AI art to create something unique to my vision, like some world or like a story or some visual idea that "clicks" with me, or how to most effectively combine it with my music that I created.

I see many people just spamming Ai art everywhere they can, to get a following or "brand" themselves as "Prompt Whisperers" or something, but I'm just experimenting, trying our different possibilities.

Then again, I think that's were many people are, we're all experimenting and trying different ideas out to see what comes out.

It's definitely been a fun ride!

[–]FatalisCogitationis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love that track, thanks for sharing. It reminds me of Mass Effect except a bit more eerie and slow, which is cool.

I’ve been thinking too about how SD can be used to fuller effect. I think in concert with Chat GPT you could take a song, turn it into an entire AI generated epic story, then generate images for it, and have yourself a music video that perfectly visualizes the journey of the song.

A buddy of mine made a bunch of stories involving me and him having space adventures using Chat GPT, then came over with a music playlist and some joints. We smoked and listened to music while we discussed the stories and built them up into something more personal and exciting; coming up with ideas while the music ebbed and flowed, gradually all of it came together turning into a self-perpetuating mechanism that transported us out of my apartment and into another universe. So there’s that, too. Fellow nerd here of course!

[–]utkohoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dont forget about chatgpt/open ai. when you get stuck with something asking chatgpt to help you out is often realy helpful. you can be realy specific and generaly its pretty good at coming up with something you might not have thought of.

like

"say there is an AI that produces images when you enter certain prompts like (detailed girl, wind blowing, hair, blue eyes) and it will produce a picture of a nice looking picture of a girl with blue eyes with her hair blowing in the wind. with this information consider the following, prompts i am using to generate images of a pyramid are making it -insertwhatever u want here- i need the image to look more like -whatever here- . generate a 150-elemant prompt list to generate an image with the following style ( write whatever here). the prompts can be donbooru tags, please use plain text and do not use "" or line breaks in your reply."

this is just an example but u can be specific or not specific with your questions and aslong as you describe what you want in a way the AI can understand using correct english/syntax. it will do a pretty damn good job of helping out.

the benefit being the prompts that come out of chatgp translate extremely well into stable diffusion/auto1111. something about its word use or the way it generates the prompts in a specific order .

Just a moment... (openai.com)

(it seems to be full/down right now :( )

if its still not doing what you like you can ask different questions. like
"the following prompts (describe the AI again like i did before so it knows what you want) would create an image of a serene a pretty landscape. the AI image generator can also use negative prompts to stop things from appearing in an image. what are some negative prompts to stop (this thing) from appearing the image.

or you can reverse things. aski it for "a description of a deformed hand" then after it tells you the deformed hand prompts. copy and paste them all after you write "add no to each of these phrases: (6 finger hand)"

no 6 finger hand, etc.

[–]traveling_designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see that

[–]wmodes 28 points29 points  (1 child)

You have to admit, it is none of these things

[–]wen_mars 22 points23 points  (9 children)

I sense a new art genre. Who can get the most beautiful art out of the ugliest negative prompt, and vice versa?

[–]Knam37 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I'll keep this as a souvenir

[–]Keskiverto[S] 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Absolutely! We also played a family game where you had to try diffusing something using only negative prompts. New newness.

[–]Dathei 8 points9 points  (1 child)

did it work? I remember once I didn't want any human in the output so I added "human, male, female, child" to the negatives and got creepy dolls instead

[–]Keskiverto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it was fun, but you really should not do it with children though 😅

[–]r4scar_capac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is genius ! I wouldn't be surprised if visual AI powered online games begin to pop up, this has an incredible potential.

[–]futuneral 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I wonder if artists will be ok with their names used in the negative prompt. Using "greg rutkowski" as the negative prompt produces a surprisingly consistent style.

<image>

[–]schrodingers_spider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if artists will be ok with their names used in the negative prompt.

"Your honor, it's absolutely unacceptable these people are NOT copying what I did"

[–]Mr_Compyuterhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s flat, saturated, mundane… exactly the opposite of Rutkowski’s style

[–]Peregrine2976 26 points27 points  (2 children)

I mean, I don't see any of those things in that picture, do you?

[–]Keskiverto[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I most certainly don't 😄I just laughed very hard when this came to my mind. I've been using stable diffusion for 5 months now and only today I tried the only negative prompt.

[–]wmodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is exactly what the artist/prompt described!

[–]FaceDeer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A while back I came across this article that discussed how negative-prompt-only prompts worked. Basically, the AI tries to find a region in its latent space that's as far away from the concept that was prompted as possible. That often ends up finding an "attractor" at the edge of its latent space, like if you've got an irregularly-shaped island you'd often wind up running out to the tip of the same peninsula if you're fleeing from a variety of different spots. Different models will have completely different conceptual landscapes, so what happens varies from model to model.

[–]SwingNinja 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Great pic. But the pants, man. What's going on there? Lol.

[–]Keskiverto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha you are right 😄 But it's not shit in teeth!

[–]FrozenLogger 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Negatives make interesting results. Try using a picture in img2img, interrogate the picture for prompts, then drop that into the negative prompt.

Now you have an image its trying to follow, it has identified everything in the scene, and you don't want any of that, lol

[–]djsunkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes please do this! I am absolutely impressed by the ingenuity with which people are attempting to wrest the creativity that seems like it must be inside there. Giving vague prompts is cool and all, but negative only prompts and then denying everything that it DID come up with sounds like a neat way to dive down the rabbithole of the machine's "imagination"

[–]nxde_ai 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of a good ol post about someone making a better blue car by writing Indian women, potato, and Donald Trump in the negative prompt

[–]jeronimoautistico 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ah keywords in general are odd. sometimes i realize after 300 images that a keyword isnt what i thought it was... and then i have to check it on its own and am like oooooooooh

actually it is very stupid at times how it decides to interpret things. maybe a lot of it is down to training itself

[–]Hectosman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol, great post. Seriously though, sometimes we're more like wizards experimenting with incantations from our grimoire. Hmmm....what will this summon?

[–]Locke_Moghan 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You should try a batch of extremely simple words like "photo" or "painting" or "drawing".

[–]Keskiverto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. I will try it!

[–]Oderik_S 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the negative prompt I would have entered to get a picture just like that.

[–]prozacgod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did a negative only for "Teeth, orangutan, bottles, people, alien, planet, soil." protoGenX34, 61a37adf76

I was quite consistently geting a croped picture of a man in a formal shirt (focus on shirt), a woman in a skirt (focus on skirt), a mutant humanoid cat, or snowy aerial mountain shots.

fascinating.

[–]AncientOneX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's definitely not that. SD made a good job.

[–]markleung 2 points3 points  (2 children)

But isn't poorly-drawn puke supposed to be aesthetically pleasing?

[–]Mr_Compyuterhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two wrongs don’t make a right

[–]Keskiverto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent point 😄

[–]hsoj95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oddly, if you only do negative prompts, it seems to often time generate what looks like real estate photos. Exactly why and how though is completely beyond me.

[–]Capitaclism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It picked the result correctly.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous shoes indeed🥰

[–]Dr_Stef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

‘Puke.. Just Do It!’ :)

[–]DrStalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This confirms that the AI has a foot fetish.

[–]Majinsei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jajajajaja perfect for the only fans~

[–]FluffyHelicopter 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I didn't laugh so hard in a long while. Thank you, this is hilarious :D

[–]Keskiverto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brothers in humor! Have a great day 😊

[–]Mr_Compyuterhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is fucking hilarious

[–]Diligent-Pirate5663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol!!!

[–]zk371 1 point2 points  (3 children)

You have to continue doing this. Didn't find it funny untile I read the prompts

[–]Keskiverto[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Sure thing! I'll post again when the inspiration hits me 😊

[–]zk371 1 point2 points  (1 child)

you should try and get something you want to get when you do this, not anything random that looks good. It makes you struggle more

[–]Keskiverto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good thinking! I absolutely enjoy a good struggle 😅

[–]Zealousideal_Royal14 0 points1 point  (1 child)

now try not inputting anything, and then looping it. you get some real freeform animation art :D

[–]Keskiverto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no 😄 I have to try this

[–]zzAIMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, may i ask what checkpoint you are using?

This is art.

[–]NoHopeHubert 0 points1 point  (0 children)
