I like em but I’ve noticed the longer you look at one the more cursed it becomes

[–]DarkGengar94 1061 points1062 points  (9 children)

Me: oh neat. Me: 10 seconds later: that isnt right. Me 10 more seconds later: is that the face or is this the face? Me 10 MORE seconds later: this poor creature is suffering and i need to put it to rest.

[–]baby_blobby 197 points198 points  (4 children)

Eyes? No eyes? Cross eyed? Three eyes or one eye with a cursed eye socket

How about a floating appendage

[–]pragmatticus 70 points71 points  (2 children)

Eyes: pick one

No eyes: Zubat

Cross eyed: ...Loudred, I guess?

Three eyes: Gastrodon

One eye with cursed socket: Duskull or Roggenrola

Floating appendage: Haunter

[–]Ruby-Rose-Warlock 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Roggenrola's "eye" is an ear, funny enough.

[–]Soronya 27 points28 points  (1 child)

[–]megasteve1225 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh god no

[–]Friglefarb989 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My exact reaction to galar fossils

[–]liege_paradox 85 points86 points  (1 child)

I think that the best way to use these would be to glance at them and have an actual person re-draw them as…less cursed. There are a few that I think would actually be really cool Pokémon. It’s just that they’re all either going to be creepy psychic or ghost type.

[–]ParachronShift 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Wrong, the best way would be some kind of genetic algorithm, with a fitness function map, so that natural selection could take place. Those that survive reproduce and mutate.

You will never catch them all!

[–]Itsdawsontime 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Definitely for some “Ed….Ward?” vibes.

[–]rhawk87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some of these remind me of ultra beasts. Makes me wonder if ultra beasts were designed using the same process.

[–]IllusoryHeart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Especially when you recognize certain parts from the existing mons

[–]JustDandy07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some of them seem to exist in a 4th dimension.

[–]deep_crater 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how most of these could even exist in a 3D space, they're fine facing forward but what would they look like if they even turned a little.

[–]czerwona_latarnia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how you know that AI really has generated them.

[–]BrainIsSickToday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pokemon "Oops! All Ultra Beasts" version.

[–]Torterror389Earth turtle superiority 6177 points6178 points  (170 children)

It bothers me how most of them have faces that definitely aren’t faces

[–]the-dandy-man 2395 points2396 points  (132 children)

This is what I imagine Eldritch beings to look like. At first glance, it seems normal, but if you look too long or too hard you can tell that nothing really makes sense and body parts aren’t where they should be, and it drives you a little crazy trying to make it make sense in your head

[–]RIPLeviathansux 1036 points1037 points  (108 children)

That's most ai generated stuff, it's fucking terrifying looking at a seemingly normal room only to realise that you can't actually name a single thing in it

[–]urammar 432 points433 points  (30 children)

Name one thing in this photo

This is what looking at lovecraft stuff feels like.

Glance at it, yeah I know what that is.. its uh... well... uuhhhhhh descends into madness

[–]LennyMann 78 points79 points  (5 children)

I definitely see a cheese grater. The brown thing might be a boa, might be part of a wig. I think a cookie tin or jar is holding up the stuff in the background.

Frankly I don't think I personally would describe this image as Lovecraftian. It's definitely strange, alien perhaps. A real head scratcher. But I'm just not feeling any dread, terror, or malicious vibes.

[–]SerifGrey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thats a slotted container.. that holds.. jewellery inside of it, but it's wrapped in clear packaging for some reason.. some of them look like chocolates.. I can't wrap my mind around it, why package jewellery and chocolates and seal the packaging? was it shipped? do people buy things like that? I understand the chocolate, but the Jewellery? I can't think of a term.. why does the term elude me... Am I going crazy? NOoo! ..nothing can be classified in this picture! they're crazy.. It's like a romantic smorgasbord of past memories all blended into one, I neither lived these moments, BUT KNOW THEM SO WELL!

....

I.. I.. ..I have no mouth and I must scream.

[–]Emergency-Anywhere51 459 points460 points  (59 children)

stuff like deep dream frog is what i imagine Lovecraft meant by indescribable horror beyond comprehension

[–]Tryin2dogood 73 points74 points  (5 children)

Reminds me of A Scanner Darkly suits.

[–][deleted] 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Technology is so amazing. We can create the incomprehensible now. Moving things that completely perplex our brains. You're right, it's about the closest we can get to seeing an eldritch being.

[–]DarkMarxSoulalways choose fire except litten 166 points167 points  (23 children)

Hm, don't like that at all.

[–]theothersteve7 23 points24 points  (2 children)

That's cool! If I concentrate just right I can undo the deep dream filter and get a pretty good idea of what the frog looks like.

[–]Old-Mammoth7215 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m weirdly satisfied that I not only have an example for the phrase “indescribable horror beyond comprehension”, but that I can train an AI on other stuff like Octopi if I want more of this.

[–]fioraflower 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I like how what you said is the exact top comment on that video lmao. I guess it’s still true, whether or not you copied it straight from them

[–]Gideonbh 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I did mushrooms once and had a flashback to like things I imagined when I was 6, that all morphed from one to the next as quickly as the deep dream frog morphs. You think you can recognize something for an instant but it changes while you're still trying to process it.

I'd imagine you're right, something that's neaarly recognizable but constantly shifting into another mostly unrecognizable amalgamation of body parts or features is probably exactly what he meant. Or at least I'd like to think so because that makes me less overwhelmed trying to figure out what else he could have meant.

[–]Croaksploderoth 41 points42 points  (3 children)

WHY DID I FUCKING CLICK THAT OH I REMEMBER NOW IM HAVING NIGHTMARES TONIGHT OH GOD OH FUCK

[–]Manguana 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]lordfreakingpenguins 11 points12 points  (0 children)

[–]WeirdSysAdmin 66 points67 points  (16 children)

Maybe Lovecraft was a prophet warning us of the impending takeover by AI with creatures they created. Microsoft has been dumping underwater data centers into the ocean.

How can we be sure the secret Bill Gates AI that runs Microsoft isn’t creating Cthulhu while Bezos and Musk are trying to escape before he finishes?

[–]unitedshoes 54 points55 points  (7 children)

I've been wanting to see some cosmic horror inspired by modern megacorporations for a while now. You've got these entities, not alive in any sense we can really appreciate, but made up of organic matter nonetheless, pursuing goals that are perhaps understandable, but with a self-destructive zeal and ruthless expansionist streak that is completely unmoored from our own rational understanding of the world. They worm their tendrils into everything, building impossibly complex webs. They are like gods; they even have cultists and brainwashed followers and temples after a fashion, but they are unlike the gods we used to worship: utterly inhuman, giving us no reason to delude ourselves into believing they would ever deign to answer our prayers— but demanding upon pain of starvation and ostracization— our endless loyalty, even to the point our blood greases their machinery. They're the perfect extension of what Lovecraft was scratching the surface of all those years ago.

[–]Synthur 17 points18 points  (5 children)

Bruh that fucker was so racist even by the standards of his time, if he’s a time traveler it’s only because he was banished 700 years into the past because he took too many credit hours of Racism 101 starting Hitler and Robert Moses in the Metaverse and became the eldritch horror of xenophobia manifest.

[–]the_orange_alligator 92 points93 points  (14 children)

That's what I was thinking too. Another thing is that at first they look like normal pokemon, but when you look closer, they feel more hollow and empty, lacking the insperation

[–]IShouldGoToSleep 37 points38 points  (2 children)

I had a dream recently where we were invaded by aliens that could mimic any animal, and if you saw one at a quick glance it would seem like an animal, but like you said once you started paying attention to it the less it made sense and the more terrifying it became.

Really freaked me out and it was really hard to kill them in the dream so I forced myself to wake up before I died to one.

[–]Svelok 6 points7 points  (1 child)

If you add in the wrinkle that once they notice that you've noticed that they're not quite right, that's basically the "Not Deer" SCP

[–]NameDNamENaminG 84 points85 points  (6 children)

[–]Torterror389Earth turtle superiority 33 points34 points  (5 children)

[–]NameDNamENaminG 11 points12 points  (4 children)

[–]eight_squared 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Never knew that. Though in the case of Cradily the fake eyes are probably a conscious design choice

[–]Arreeyem 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What bothers me more is that none of them are symmetrical. That usually sets off red flags in our head. They look like what I would imagine pokemon near a nuclear reactor would look like.

[–]lampenpam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All of them look better zoomed out. I didn't know what you were talking about until I zoomed in. Before that most looked actually like legit pokemon parodies made by a person

[–]philabusterrNeed more Charizard 48 points49 points  (2 children)

These are abominations lol. None of them look like anything.

[–]Itsdawsontime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]RoscoMan1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]LordWeaselton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s like they’re inspired by animals that don’t exist

[–]saralulu121 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel these images are cursed

[–]GayBlayde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re Ultra Beasts.

[–]s-mores 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. I wondered a while back why all the Pokemon have generic human-ish faces.

This, this is why.

[–]shiningroyal 2735 points2736 points  (56 children)

These feel like Pokémon from another planet where they’re based on a completely different set on animals

I also love how some of their body shapes and color schemes are easily distinguished as specific Pokémon. The ones that looks like Espurr, Larvitar, and Crustle especially

[–]TheLastHayley 379 points380 points  (18 children)

Yeah, this strongly reminds me of the Amalgamates from Undertale. Vibes and fragments of different creatures we already know, but melted together into some kind of Eldritch abomination.

[–]PolymersionIrrelevant. 70 points71 points  (14 children)

I should play that game.

I remember wanting to pick it up at one point when I found out somebody I liked was part of the project, but I can't for the life of me remember who. Might've been a composer or something?

[–]RedditsNicksAreBad 65 points66 points  (7 children)

Undertale was made by only one guy. I think there's just one other person who did some sprite work and one fan who got her character design in the game but that's it, everything else was made by toby fox

[–]Apex_Konchu 84 points85 points  (4 children)

Temmie Chang is the artist you're talking about. She did a lot of the art, because Toby is not an artist.

There are three fan-designed characters in the game, not one. Muffet, Glyde, and So Sorry.

[–]IteTheCrapOC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Actually there were a lot of like background artists, multiple art assistants, and multiple guest designs like Muffet, So Sorry and Glyde. There’s a reason there are so many names in the credits

[–]Aletheia-Nyx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Toby fox?

[–]zippee100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]dreamsong7 513 points514 points  (7 children)

It feels like one of those pictures that show what it looks like to have a stroke. Like if you don’t look closely it’s kinda there but if you try to you can’t recognize anything

[–]only_the_office 182 points183 points  (2 children)

[–]MerylasFalguard 56 points57 points  (2 children)

I feel like I’m-particular, the top-right corner of the first image showcases this. It looks so much like a leafy grass… I want to say frog, with a blue underbelly. But then you look at it past the silhouette and realize that it’s a bunch of absolute nothing. Like… I can make a very distinct Pokémon design in my head out of that picture, but the picture isn’t it and it upsets me.

[–]sdwoodchuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going to say, as someone with permanent double vision, this doesn’t look like what things look like with double-vision, but the way everything is a collection of features without cohesive rhyme or reason definitely has the same feeling. Like you look at it, and you understand what each piece of it is, but it doesn’t coalesce into a sensible whole.

[–]Moose_Cake 64 points65 points  (2 children)

Less pocket animal, more pocket monster.

[–]LarnPatrong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mostly pocket

[–]Ugly_Slut-Wannabe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kinda pocket. Kinda monster.

[–]ginganinja9988 32 points33 points  (1 child)

It's because they aren't based off anything in the real world. They are just entirely new things. I could totally see one or two of these bieng one of the "wierd" Pokémon in a generation, but all together it doesn't work because the majority need to be more normal looking.

    [–]Kingsen 317 points318 points  (19 children)

Yeah, with a few tweaks you’d have something with a couple of these

    [–][deleted] 124 points125 points  (17 children)

Why don't we take some of these as scraps and do a lil bit ofediting and tweaking to make some good pokemon, or more of a fakemon.

    [–]Kingsen 29 points30 points  (1 child)

Considering how violently they have gone after fan made games in the past, I’d say use the designs to make your own Pokémon clone game that’s its own IP.

    [–]MouseSnackz 42 points43 points  (13 children)

Why don't we make our own monster game like Pokémon but better, that's different enough not to be a legal issue

    [–]Ugly_Slut-Wannabe 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I'd love work on something like that.

Unfortunately, it most likely wouldn't be successful without money and, for when the game is mostly done, marketing. Besides, most people would think "we already have Pokémon, why play this?". I'm not saying it's impossible, but it would require a lot more than even a metric ton of work.

    [–]minimaxir[] 809 points810 points  (64 children)

The AI used here is a fine-tuned ruDALL-E on the official Pokemon images (i.e. it is not VQGAN + CLIP or Wombo Dream). Unfortunately it's not very portable/easy to use otherwise I'd set up an interactive demo.

The way the AI works is that it generates the images from the top to the right in 8x8 chunks. It samples the next chunk somewhat randomly so the image is consistent, with the finetuning process teaching the AI to better recognize chunks of a Pokemon.

EDIT: Here's a bonus batch of 4 more pages due to all your support!

    [–]grimalisk 326 points327 points  (18 children)

I'm still not comprehending how it's possible for the lineart and shading to be so on point. this is absolutely blowing my mind

what happens if you only train it on two??

    [–]minimaxir[] 193 points194 points  (11 children)

So, you can, and the results there can be interesting.

It'll overfit so the final image will be very similar to those images...but it's possible to prompt the AI to give it more flexibility as a result.

I'm still experimenting in that particular area.

    [–]grimalisk 88 points89 points  (5 children)

how can I stay updated on your work?? I am like so interested you have no idea

    [–]MajorSery 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Based on how you said it works, one thing I would do is restrict training to sets of Pokemon that have similar body shapes. So try it out using only quadrupeds/bipeds/blobs. Another set of sets I might try would be only Pokemon that share a type, so you'd be more likely to get something like say a leaf monster that actually looks like a Grass-type.

    [–]SpaceShipRat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're not really supposed to reduce the training to do stuff like that, you can do it with tags. You could tag the bipeds, quadrupeds, generations, types, in the training and then ask it to output something that fits those tags. DALL-E should be pretty good at it in particular.

    [–]Arcusico 21 points22 points  (2 children)

Perhaps train the AI on the different gens, and check out some overarching differences in design

    [–]sir151 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Yeah, even though 150 images isn’t very much to work with, it would be interesting to see each generate split up. The Sugimori artwork for gens 1+2 look completely different from later gens.

    [–]chiheis1n 91 points92 points  (3 children)

That's what fascinates me too. Like it knows how shadowing and highlights work (and even imitates really well Sugimori's particular style of shading) to create the illusion of 3D but it has no fucking idea how to apply it to make recognizable body parts lol

    [–]grimalisk 16 points17 points  (1 child)

exactly this! though it definitely has some idea about body parts, or at least got lucky

    [–]chiheis1n 14 points15 points  (0 children)

True, I should say body plan*

    [–]Twilord_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder what type of the tantrum the AI would throw if fed another art-style without clearing it's palette.

Maybe feed it the entirety of Wikimon while it's still chewing Bulbapedia. If we count all the variants for the Mon on both, I would not be surprised if that gave it three thousand images to digest.

    [–]uncommitedbadger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When does one understand the state of the art in machine learning well enough to understand how machine learning seemingly works so well?

That's the neat part: you don't!

    [–]shankarsivarajan 40 points41 points  (8 children)

"Generate images from texts"? That's a weird one to be using, isn't it? I mean, it clearly works, but why would you not use something like StyleGAN?

    [–]minimaxir[] 55 points56 points  (5 children)

    Very good question!

I believe there have been attempts to train a GAN on Pokemon but it's very, very hard to get coherent output. (GANs require a large amount of normalized high quality input images, which Pokemon are not). You can't finetune a StyleGAN trained on faces to a completely different domain either. (yet)

ruDALL-E at the least has the sense of how images should be stitched together, so it should finetune better. I was trying to see if they could be influenced by text but that didn't quite work out (e.g. Image #5, which has slightly more consistent images but not great.)

    [–]intheaftermath 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can say the same here, ran a StyleGAN on the pixel portraits for a project in senior year. The results were certainly pixelated and the colors and large shapes were pretty good, but once you got to any finer details it all fell apart. Your project is gorgeous!

    [–]shankarsivarajan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

    Thanks.

there have been attempts to train a GAN on Pokemon

Can confirm. Didn't work at all. I should probably try it with the -ADA thing. I gather that's supposed to work with smaller datasets; ~1000 is probably still way too few though.

    [–]paincrumbs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Given earlier gens tend to look more zoomorphic than recent ones, I'm curious how different they would look like if the training datasets are seperated per generation. Anyway, really cool work!

    [–]Sandlight 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know the AI you have here is for images, but I wonder if it would make more consistent creatures with 3d models instead of images. Seems like it would have less to fight with when trying to "understand" perspective, because it has raw shapes.

This is really awesome though, I kinda want someone to make a fakemon romhack using these.

Maybe limit it to only doing one type at a time, like showing it all the water types and make it generate a bunch of designs

    [–]CH3RRYSPARKLINGWATER 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would be interesting, I'd like to see it for each type

I was curious about limiting it to particular generations, especially Gens 1-2 because they had a different art style. It'd also be interesting to exclude the object-based and less naturalistic Pokemon. I feel like I'm seeing a bit too much of the Rotom forms and Ultra Beasts in these designs.

    [–]VesquillanDaChamp 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Most of these really just need a little work on the face

    [–]YourGayAuntBob 172 points173 points  (13 children)

Can I draw fanart of some of these? They look so cool!

    [–]minimaxir[] 173 points174 points  (12 children)

You can do whatever you want with them, although obviously reference your source.

    [–]YourGayAuntBob 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I definitely saved the link to this post!

    [–]Floralpikmin99 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Oh man, I want to try drawing these too. They're really cool!

Besides drawing, would you care if the interpretations might eventually be used in games?

    [–]Tokyolurv 167 points168 points  (3 children)

Give us the AI OP. the Fakemon community is begging.

    [–]Binary_Omlet 40 points41 points  (0 children)

These are already better designs than most fakemon games out there too.

    [–]thegayestweeb 130 points131 points  (6 children)

A number of these would make great Ultra Beasts. It sucks that they didn't make more after gen 7.

    [–]CH3RRYSPARKLINGWATER 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I liked the ultra beasts, they felt very alien and different while still kinda feeling like pokemon

    [–]el_natoo 34 points35 points  (1 child)

    Pokémon: Corrupted Version

    [–]The-Legend-of 92 points93 points  (3 children)

I hope this is okay but I tried to draw one of them . Not much of an artist but he spoke to me.

    [–]mismatched7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is great! I came here hoping someone had drawn one

[–]Walnut-SimulacrumI enjoy less lengthy pants 51 points52 points  (7 children)

This sounds like the ravings of a lunatic but I swear I can tell what generation some of them are from. This is Gen 6 for example. This one’s Gen 7. These next two are clearly Gen 5. How about Gen 2? could this next one perhaps be from gen 8? And one gen 3 to round us out. obviously pretty open to interpretation but please tell me I’m not completely crazy

    [–]nujiok 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It makes sense, for a lot of them you can picture the Pokemon the colors came from, some have a vague shaking like a real Pokemon too

    [–]x_alexithymia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy at all, I can make out individual Pokemon in several of these designs. Page 4, Row 3, Column 2 totally looks like Virizion + Hydreigon to me, but that’s just one example. Two rows beneath that one, I can see Druddigon in its stance/posture. You can spot so many of them if you look closely.

    [–]SuperDaubeny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

    Woah… yeah!

    [–]Dsgorman 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Super neat idea - I can see common elements of some specific Pokémon in the designs and dig the concept

    [–]KainHighwind57 20 points21 points  (0 children)

    Next gen pokemon leak.

    [–]Reality_Check19 35 points36 points  (3 children)

Pokémon Radiation Version set in Chernobyl

    [–]YouPooDude 5 points6 points  (1 child)

    That already exists

    [–]Reality_Check19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

unofficially, plus these look way more like radiation monsters anyways. just make another one lmao

    [–]Redchong 32 points33 points  (0 children)

At some point it would really benefit the Pokémon company to have an AI doing something similar. 90% of these look like legitimate Pokémon designs

    [–]sluthulhu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Page 4, row 4, middle column comes with its own “leftovers”

    [–]whahoppen314 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see an artist go through and make some of these comprehensible

    [–]ToddVRsofa 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I feel like these could work as pokemon red sprites lol

    [–]Catty_Whompus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

With a little finessing these would look like a new generation easily

    [–]gingerjes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some of these are adorable and I want them. Others are crimes against nature.

    [–]Pandadora86 7 points8 points  (1 child)

    Gen 10 Pokémon

    [–]KieDaPie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first one looks like it's having the meanest boner

    [–]Duffs1597 6 points7 points  (3 children)

I’d be interested to see this broken up by generations. Like train the AI on just the first 2 generations, then another with just the 2 most recent for example, since the design has kind of shifted over the years.

    [–]Friday_Night_Vibes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is also how the fossil Pokémon from sword and shield were created.

    [–]CarsClothesTrees 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Not gonna lie some of these are fire

    [–]Ragnarock101 54 points55 points  (1 child)

Im sure some of them are water or steel too, aswell as other types.

    [–]CarsClothesTrees 10 points11 points  (0 children)

    Dad joke level 1000

    [–]Anibal_Anubis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

    They fit as Ultra Beasts!

    [–]MelloMejo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay but some of these could work. Most could work with a little extra polish

    [–]WinkyZenitsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They look so much like rookie digimons.

    [–]attaack_maax 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Fuck your Zodiac sign, what’s your favorite AI generated Pokémon?

    [–]ShiraCheshire 11 points12 points  (1 child)

These are... really good? Wow. If these were tweaked a little by a human, I could absolutely see all these being their own new generation of fakemon.

I almost wanna go through and re-draw all these with a human design touch.

    [–]LegendaryGiraffe47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s like I’m having a stroke. Just as I think I recognize something, it gets messed up

    [–]incompetentegg 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I really like how you can see specific pokemon heavily influencing specific ones, like a few individual ones I noticed took inspiration from gligar, tyranitar, porygon-z, jangmo-o, zacian, girafarig... those are just the ones I immediately remember. It's very impressive how clean these look!

A skilled artist could pretty easily take many of these and refine the designs into an actual recognizable creature, and I bet it would look a lot like a real pokemon.

How long did you have it train on the portraits for, and did this AI have other training data or has it ONLY looked at pokemon? If I had to guess it looks like it must have only trained on pokemon, and probably for a long time!

    [–]MeMyselfandBi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's probably enough realistic-looking fakemon fan art out there to increase your sample size tenfold, which might eliminate some of those uncanny valley elements in the output.

    [–]Benga13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So this is how digimon are made 🧐

    [–]Floralpikmin99 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I made a few doodles so far! For these I did trace over the AI art to mostly clean up the design and get an idea of shape. I'm absolutely coming back to a few of these, whether in proper art or a 3D model.

    [–]JoelWMatthews 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would you mind terribly if I drew some fanart of a few of these, fixing them up a bit and giving them types/names?

    [–]AInquisition[] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is how it felt coming back to Pokémon after like 10 years

    [–]MathematicianBroad56 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All the ones with actual eyes are REALLY good. If the AI can improve its eye-creation skills these will be top notch.

    [–]Jas_Dragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually like these! Very cool!

    [–]Squidguy83I second that 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the most cool applicant of AI art I've seen so far, I guess because they all look like real fakemon, not even from that far away, usually with this AI art you have to squint to confuse it for a real human product, but its getting really advanced! Technology is incredible!

    [–]xineirea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they had names, it’d be “Kill Me”

    [–]BrainIsSickToday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    I'd play this game.

    [–]ampha_toast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad to know that I’m not the only one who thinks these get more cursed the longer you look at them

    [–]Nanabobo567 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure some of these are my sleep paralysis demons

    [–]Hylianhaxorus 6 points7 points  (1 child)

These are the most adorable abominations
