The same prompt in Gemini in Portuguese. I even found it more accurate.

Nice!

The model keep the trends strong after nano banana 2. Crazy that it can explain complex subject so clearly

Really a crazy model. This is supposed to be a screenshot of a game inspired by 2 other ones.
"Create an image of a video game screenshot of a made up videogame. This non existent videogame is a mix between Morrowind and Star Wars"

Has there been an announcement?

[–]Alex__007[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Not yet. Apparently some got it early but some are still on image V1.5.

[–]mozzarellaguy 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How do we know which model do we get

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try 10x10 grid with labels. Check correctness and consistency. Old one sometimes makes errors in 3x3 and can't do 5x5, never mind 10x10.

That's really insane. I remember there was a time I asked it to generate a picture based on a thesis and it generated jumbos.

Yooooo this is so good for character sheets

Six fingered robot hands

[–]torac 1 point2 points  (1 child)

There are a couple of small issues. "Cobots" (87), weird foldable (40), EV-batteries showing a weird card instead (62)…

Incomparable to previous attempts to generate more than a dozen distinct objects with text. A leap forward.

Yes, not perfect on 10x10, but now very close. Previously even 3x3 would sometimes fail and 4x4 would usually fail.

is this 2.0?

[–]Alex__007[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, for sure

[–]Oswolrf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not working for me.

[–]No-Philosopher3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created the front page of a newspaper for a fictional world and it got it. I also created an anatomy diagram that was nearly perfectly labeled

[–]m3kw 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So I can ask it to generate 50 different pics in a grid like that? It will save lots of money

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, correct

[–]Hoppss 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is it still pretty censored for copyrighted characters and designs?

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the ones I tried. But I guess depends.

[–]LargeLanguageModelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tested, did a couple images with trusses, which usually has been botched in the past IME. So far, very impressed, definitely have some application for this to integrate into projects via the API.

Okay this is great but how long until its nerf'd

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it ever get nerfed? The incentive is to keep the quality and push down the limits, nudging people to upgrade their plans.

[–]onyxlabyrinth1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s impressive, but i always wonder how stable this is under real usage. Demos look clean, then you hit edge cases and things get weird fast. I'm wondering how consistent it stays across prompts and sessions, especially if you try to build anything repeatable on top of it.

[–]Illustrious_Site_162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the new model is ridonculously good but it also brings the concern of faster limit usage like Claude. Does anyone know the actual limit for it? is it hourly or daily?

[–]KirbyTheCat2 0 points1 point  (12 children)

Works great... until they downgrade the quality to save $$$.

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (11 children)

GPT Image 1 or 1.5 was never downgraded, they just decreased usage limits.

I hope they do the same going forward. Waiting is ok if you are still getting access to frontier AI.

[–]expera 0 points1 point  (10 children)

You got proof of that?

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Just my personal experience. I used both quite a lot.

[–]expera -1 points0 points  (5 children)

So no? I have opposing anecdotal evidence. But what’s more likely? They maintained token count or decreased to save money?

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

In my experience decreased limits to save money. At some point I started getting asked to wait before generating the next image after just a few generations. But maybe it’s dynamic and depends on usage and regions, and they are AB testing different approaches to savings. Who knows.

[–]FinancialMoney6969 0 points1 point  (3 children)

idk how people take the word of a billiondollar company rather than multiple REAL PEOPLE that experience the nerfs daily.... OP humble yourself

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I’m not arguing that there are no nerfs. You can nerf the quality, or you can nerf the limits, or both, or even nerf different things for different people to AB test the responses. I did not experience a drop in quality, but I did experience tighter limits.

[–]FinancialMoney6969 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You're talking about limits. limits have nothing to do with QUALITY which is constantly mentioned literally everyday throughout this entire 2-4 year journey. You can easily tell when they degrade the models. idk how you're even arguing with me about this... no1 is aruging "tighter limits" they can changed the "limit" whenever they want and its damn near impossible to calculate, no point in arguing that

quality is very quantifiable

[–]Alex__007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have not seen any drops in quality, for any OpenAI models. Maybe someone else can easily tell, maybe someone else is just confused. Not my experience.

The only properly documented changes in quality I saw were when OpenAI was changing between different model fine-tunes for GPT-4 and 4o, without announcing it. You could still select what you needed on API but not in the chat.

Now it's less of a problem, since every new iteration is announced and you have access at least to several latest ones (5.2, 5.3, 5.4) directly in the chat if you are a paid subscriber. And if you really need a particular version that's no longer available in the chat, API is there.

[–]LargeLanguageModelo -1 points0 points  (2 children)

lol, do you?

[–]expera 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Why would I have proof of the thing I don’t believe?

[–]LargeLanguageModelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, damn, I dunno. Didn't see you weren't Kirby (who made the positive assertion of nerfing the model).
