I tend to think that as AI stuff proliferates, you have to prioritize quality to punch through the haze and smog. So I would generally try to create 1 perfect cartoon rather than something which already looks rather '2023' and is triggering 'aillergies' in viewers already. That's just me, though.

I've tried making cartoons myself in DALL-E 3 and it can be an exercise in frustration. Natural language is a terribly crude and clumsy way to edit an image... If you can sketch at all, you can probably save yourself a lot of effort by using an image2image model approach like ControlNet, and simply sketch the stick figures and an object or two, and then have the model (SD or something, there might even be LoRAs specifically for New Yorker cartoons at this point) do the rest, and avoid the clutter and lack of control entirely. It may well be faster too as you waste less time dicking around with DALL-E 3.
