Apparently the French guy who was on the Titan as a “content expert” had pretty thoroughly considered that in his work he was likely to die in either an implosion or of hypothermia and had decided that either was an acceptable way to go. Also he was 77 which is not bad tbh

No one should die in service of the utterly insane ego that the pilot/owner displayed but it’s a little nice that at least one person on there fully understood what was happening and had lived a long full life before literally dying doing a wholesome thing he loved
Lots of people die doing less interesting or optimistic things they love

I'm impressed by how many very deep dives have happened successfully before this one. All the way back to the sixties.

The implosion almost seems like one of the better ways to go apart from dying in your sleep. Too quick to even register what's happening. I guess it depends if they knew the sub was in trouble first though
