This led to an idea: What if we use AI to create an actual film. So we had ChatGPT come up with 100+ different story ideas. 3/

After that, we took the best ideas and turned them into film scripts. My co-producer, who writes scripts for a living, was blown away when ChatGPT produced nearly ~50 scripts for us in 1 hour. (This took months of work down to 1 hour). 4/

The interesting part is when we picked a script and told ChatGPT to start directing the film... It created a step-by-step shot list for us: 5/

Not being in the film industry, I didn’t know if this was enough. So we asked our cinematographer (Odyssey Flores, who did award-winning films like “Lola”). His response: first, holy shit. Is this tech real? Second, can we get more details? 6/

So we asked for more details, and ChatGPT provided a detail of each shot, with: - Camera positioning - Angle of the set - Cast positions - How the colors should look - What the lighting should be - It even detailed which lens to use and what the focus of the shot should be! 7/

We got the thumbs up from our cinematographer. ChatGPT then detailed each shot 1-by-1. 8/

After we had 22 detailed shots and the script, my co-producer (@RichardJuan) took the idea of creating an AI-made film from a half joke to a full fledged reality. He lined up the video team, the actors, the set, and everything else needed. 9/

At this point, we wondered if we could get photo examples of what the shots should look like. It was getting late on a Saturday, so I stepped out and asked my @Magic assistant to take each shot, plug it into DALLE-2 and Midjourney to give us some example ideas for each. 12/

By the end, we used ChatGPT (along with others like @midjourney_ai to have over 50 pages of Director notes) 13/

When we did the filming, we also asked on the fly questions to ChatGPT … 14/

Is AI just the next overhyped tech or the future of entertainment? I could easily see AI leading to personalized movies, where you can see any variation of any film you’ve ever wanted. Watch Tom Cruise play as Iron Man battling Darth Vader ... or an infinite number ideas. 17/
