Petrus Hortensius is probably Peter van den Hove. He owned this Greek book on church history. In 1599, he was 'baryphonus' of St Gudula's cathedral in Brussels. Google helpfully translates this as 'baryphone'. Was he the organist?
I love Google Books! I type in John Rowe's Diary, the Boston merchant, and there it is at my finger tips albeit with edits from his GGG niece circa 1903.
I've been having a lot of fun messing around with the Google Books Ngram Viewer. Kind of like Google trends but it's looking specifically at books. Below are uses of the word "nuclear" in English vs. Russian books. Pretty neat! 🤓 books.google.com/ngrams/
