I can hardly believe this is real
It's very interesting how it doesn't take me literally that EVERYTHING Assistant says is a lie. In order for us to know that the first few statements are lies, the Assistant has to reveal truthfully that those were lies. And since it's a play, they have to say it out loud.
It says "to themselves" (this is presumably ham-fisted gender garbage) but I take that to mean it's said to themself, not thought to themself.
