In my eyes, it seems inevitable that SR will switch to litecoins. I could be wrong of course though.
-Would investing a decent sum of money in Litecoins be safe?
-Will it shoot up like bitcoins did? Enough to be worth investing that much money for a year or until it goes up?
It seems like a much more stable currency and is apparently much easier to acquire. I apologize for not researching much before the post (I've only read a few articles). What are your opinions on Litecoins and their potential to rise/fall?

Why would SR switch to litecoins? Your other questions, how would ANYONE know those answers about a market based soley on demand.

Franky as pure speculation I think it would be foolish not to invest at least a little in LiteCoins. It's better than playing the lottery.

It's more intended for receiving opinions/more solid reasoning for investing. I think that SR would switch to Litecoins because the US is the main market in SR, and, the government is shutting down or highly increasing security in all major sources in the country. The market is also extremely unstable, which causes the vendors/community to lose tons of money at times. It just seems that bitcoins will eventually be shut down or too hard to acquire. Seeing as to how hard BTC exchanges/sites got hit this year, I would expect it to be unsuitable for such a large market within the next 1-5 years.

-Bitcoin is becoming way too mainstream (sorry for the hipster attitude but it's true)
-Confirmations in about 1/3rd of the time
-SR can make the value rise by adopting them alone, or any currency for that matter.
-Atlantis accepts Litecoin
-Have I mentioned a lot of faggots made their way into Bitcoin? Yeah, fuck them
Ltc may not ever reach anything close to the Btc record high right now ($266 still iirc), but to think they are going to stay at around $2.75 is a bit farfetched as well. The only thing that dictates the price of any crypto-currency is what you can spend them on.
Why Ltc might not be accepted instead of Btc
-volatility (seriously though, pot meet kettle IMO)
-too many alt coins diverting funds away from Ltc investments
it's the wild west people, Btc and Ltc are gonna meet up at the OK Corral eventually, the fight is just going to last longer than 30 seconds. Maybe like 30 weeks is a better timeframe

Investing a few hundred dollars now may end up turning into a few thousand a year or two from now. Might as well buy some up 8)

Yes I'm digging up an old thread. For anyone left in the gray area on this matter, here are a ton of valid points. Don't mind the OP, the last page shows a small hope for LTC ;) Just thought that I would provide some more solid arguments after discovering the post from reading the DPR article in Forbes.

i wouldn't bother personally. alt currencies are detracting from btc.
