So I'm trying to purchase something via WU but I have never dealt with this person nor do I trust them. Their info is from Africa (usually a huge red flag for me) but I have thought of an escrow idea. I'm sure others have thought of this as well...
I was going to send the money, the senders name, and MTCN so they can track the payment online. However, I will also add a Question and Answer to the payment, so the only way to pick up the money is if you know the answer to the question. After I receive the goods I can send the answer to the question, allowing them to pick up the money.
Will this work in terms of escrow (safety) on my end? Or can you get around the whole Q&A thing?
Thanks in advance for the help!

It's a lot easier for the buyer to scam this way

So as the buyer, this is in my favor then right?

I did this once before and without knowing the answer to the question they were able to pick up the money..got scammed!!

Yep. They walk into first WU agent, try to collect, if they don't know the Q&A Answer they simply move on to another WU place until someone forgets to ask it.

So this is bad idea then right? Seems like it would be pretty easy to pick up the money.

I wouldnt trust a WU agent in Africa to not take a $20-$30 bribe to override the Q&A LOL

yeah, wouldn't be surprised if they have ppl working at the wu locations.
