Title: Phone Call from Dwolla Today: Should I be Worried?
Post by: wolfstein on April 17, 2012, 11:45 pm
So I received a phone call from Dwolla today asking to confirm my SS# and DOB. The call has me a bit worried because I only use Dwolla to deposit funds into MtGox, where I buy and then float my bitcoins through a wallet before depositing them here on SR.

Is this unusual for Dwolla? Has anyone had similar calls or dealings with Dwolla? Seems unusual: I've had the account for about a month now and paid my instant balance down when using it. Perhaps I'm simply being paranoid here, but I'm worried about LE, etc.

Someone please tell me this has happened to you and considerable time has passed without incident! I need the assurance.

I could 30 threads right now offering trusted bitcointalk user dwolla to other users to buy bitcoins. No reason to use gox or bitinstant just make an account there, get whitelisted and start trading.

Make an account where? I couldn't follow the first part of your post.

Is there an alternative to bitinstant or MtGox that gets you your BTC at market price near instantly? All these other guys charge huge markups on BTC purchases and take their precious time.

^ listen to that guy

also i think measures like this by dwolla are ultimately beneficial for bitcoins and online scene in general. it will lead to more people wanting to obtain btc in a more anonymous manner since they are sketched out by providing ssn etc.

People must off been ripping off other people's bank accounts.
At least it sounds like a good excuse for the phone calls, and security changes.
I for one don't like tying the account to twitter and crap.

So Bitinstant, and BOA?
Is that the next cheapest way, %5?
