Title: I have Bitcoins in my wallet. How do I get them to SR anonymously?
Post by: GreenAlfalfaBoxes on February 06, 2013, 12:44 am
You've succeeded in buying bitcoins.  Now it's time to send your bitcoins to your Silkroad wallet so you can exchange them for goods.

What is the best way to send bitcoins to your SR wallet without incriminating yourself.  I know SR tumbles BTC from anon-buyer to anon-seller automatically.  But how do real-life-buyer's get their bitcoins to their anon-buyer accounts safely?

BlockChain.net offer an anonymous transfer option from their wallets for a fee of (roughly) 1.5% (the option is under the 'send money' tab.
As long as your smart and buy a little more Btc. than you actually need each time its very easy and lends a little peace of mind the the process.

I'm still not convinced it's totally safe. Surely some metadata will be left behind?

It's not illegal to transfer bitcoins around, and your SR wallet address doesn't "belong" to SR.
You can even configure a bitcoin wallet on your computer, manually download the blockchain, and route it through TOR.
Transfer coins into your encrypted wallet, then transfer to SR.
Change wallet address, and spend, spend, spend.
