Title: Domestic mail
Post by: jh0000n on May 16, 2012, 06:34 pm
Im not fully clear on this if anyone could chime in ....does domestic mail ever get scrutinized/searched? Im talking more about a regular sized envelope not a huge box or anything. If its domestic theres no customs involved but are there other postal inspectors that also watch the mail flow?

I read somewhere that in the USA a postal inspector can't open 1st class mail without a warrant.

USPS cant open any mail without a warrant. As long as the letter does not look extremely sketchy IE tape around it extra postage fake return address or smells like drugs the chance of it being found is literally 1 in thousands. The chance of it getting stolen is greater than it being found and the receiver being sent a love letter.
