Title: Western Union or Moneypack? Localbitcoins
Post by: AerophobiaGamer on August 14, 2013, 01:30 pm
I'm going to be getting some money Friday to order from here but I don't want to be scammed can anyone recommend good sellers on localbitcoins and  the process of ordering from Localbitcoins, do they need my I.D, address or my personal information on WU/LB?

And what would be better and easier Moneypack or WU?

I would try BitBargain. The setup seems to be a lot faster although generally Localbitcoins is cheaper.

Localbitcoins is divided into geographic regions, hence the local. You'll need to state what country you're in for people to help. Localbitcoins don't need any ID, apart from an email address (don't use your real one) and you can access it with tor, but vendors can specify they only want to transact with people who have verified phone numbers or who aren't using tor.

I don't know if it's possible in your country but in Australia we can make anonymous over the counter deposits into bitcoin vendors bank accounts, which is very safe and convenient. I'm pretty sure WU requires photo id for pretty much everything.

I cannot make my initial deposit.  When I click to make deposit it gives me a sequence of numbers and says click here but nothing happens?

Yes I'm in the US. So sending money to someone would require me to give photo I.D. online?

If you are using LBC, either do a face-to-face, or use a seller who accepts a direct cash deposit into their bank account (you don't have to show ID to make a deposit into someone's account).  Either way, only deal with someone with an established track record and feedback history.
