Title: Selling Cuban Cigars on Silk Road?
Post by: Rush Limbo on March 12, 2012, 07:46 pm
I'm considering becoming a seller on the Silk Road. I do not intend to sell drugs, but rather Cuban Cigars :-)

Would anyone be interested in real Cuban Cigars? I have a ton on hand, and wouldn't mind selling some off. I have hundreds of sticks in my humidors, and also plenty of full boxes; some brands include: RyJ, Cohiba, Monti, LGC, RASS, Bolivar, Trinidad, and many others...

Your thoughts?

I'd be interested, I think there are others who would as well.  What sort of prices are you considering?

Appa,
Not sure on pricing. I get them from overseas, and I would obviously like to make a small profit :-)
I would have to see what the prices currently are and make a decision, but know that I'm not considering this because I want to make a ton of Bitcoinz, but rather I want to be a part of the community and offer something new and unique :)

Is there a fee to become a seller and list an item, or do I only pay the SL AFTER I've made a sale?

Stay tuned...

Cool! I think I'll select few of the best Cubans I have and make a listing aka "Rush Limbo's Best of the Best Cuban Sampler" or something along those lines, just to test the waters :)

I would expect that you could do a pretty good business in the States on Cuban Cigars.  I think it really depends on the quality.  There's a lot of Cuban Cigars out here that have not been properly stored and have turned to crap.  If you've got decent quality you should do real well.  May take a while for the word to get around tho'.  Good luck!

I've been into CCs for a while now. Always stored them very well: 65% RH and around 70-75*F. In fact I've smoked a Cohiba Robust last night, one that was sitting in my humidor for 2 years and it was delicious! All my stuff is stored well. Most sit in original boxes in a large 150qt cooler, with boxes of silica and distilled water... basically I know what I'm doing :D

Be on a lookout for a cuban cigar sampler soon, whooo hooo!

I didn't mean that you didn't know what you were doing.  I live in Europe and you have to be careful over here when buying Cuban Cigars.  I don't know where you get yours from but I have found that you really need to check around before you start dropping good coin on Cuban Cigars.  Hell it's cheaper to have a drug habit.

Oldtoker, I didn't take it that way, was just trying to give myself some credibility :)

And yes, I know a lot about buying crap. It's all a matter of having a trusted source, which I have many: Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Australia, all provide me with top quality product, so you can be sure stuff I would be reselling is legit! Now why does it cost $150 just to become a seller!!!!!!!!!!!?????

It's for everyone's good man, this place would be a shitshow otherwise. You'll make it back quick if you're legit.

As long as you don't sell fake cigars at genuine prices. Boxes and stamps can be faked. I would love to give some a try but its easier to get illegals thru Australian customs than it is tobacco.
Make a listing and they will sell.

The 150 fee keeps scammers away. I have no interest in cigars but welcome anyway and good luck.

actually, i was telling my friend about this site and he asked me about getting Cubans for him. so you already have yourself some customers. just drop a link to your vendor account and i'll definitely buy.

BTW: you'd still be selling drugs. tobacco has nicotine and a few others in it

This man knows his cigars! I'm also a fan of them, but on topic, I could potentially be very interested in cubans if they're decently priced

A legit cigar vendor on SR?

You'll make good money from me.  Do you have any Monte Cristo #1s?

PM me when you're open, I'm huge into cigars

*Edit- Just notice this thread was bumped and is old.  Why must you get my hopes up? :(

I'd be interested in these as well. Got married down in the Dominican and smoked some damn good shit while I was down there. Opus X was the finest I got to enjoy but would certainly be interested in some Romeo & Julieta's, Monte Christo 1's or some authentic Cohiba's.

Any idea on a timeline? Be interested to see how these ship out considering how delicate these are and going into the summer months hopefully the don't dry out in the mail.

Hand made in Costa Rica. The filler consists of Cuban seed tobaccos, while a Havanna 2000 is used for the binder and wrapper.

Also we can do special customs shipments of brand names. We only have a 250er Humidor, so we can not stock everything by our own.

Sorry I am late.

Sorry I took so long to respond.

When I first saw this thread I meant to respond to it, "Hell, yes I would be interested!"

They are illegal in U.S. if I understand correctly but I have some friends that I love that much that I would buy them for them.
