I had an order shipped Monday and checked the DCN when it was sent to me with the message:
"
There is no record of this item.

2. The number was entered incorrectly. Be sure to enter all of the letters and numbers as they appear on your mailing label or receipt.

Okay so this is fairly normal when a package is first sent as it hasn't been scanned at the first facility yet. However that was Monday and today is Wednesday with the same results. Normally from this vendor my DCN checks out IMMEDIATELY after they message it to me.
Do you think this is a case of the DCN simply having a typo? Or is it possible that a package can be pulled for being checked too many times? Mind you I have NEVER checked it with TOR. I find this one hard to believe as all the people checking tracking on their ebay items days in and day out can't be getting their hello kitty hair scrunchies confiscated because they can't wait until they arrive right?
My thought it was there was a typo in the DCN I was sent.
Any other thoughts?

It's either a typo, fake, or the vendor didn't ship the item yet.

Yup. +1 Asbury.

I am in the exact same boat. Item shipped Monday and no update from the dcn #. Also ordered from an extremely reputable seller whom I've dealt with several times in the past without any issues.
I wonder if we've ordered from the same vendor?
Not sure if this makes me feel better or worse. I PM'd the vendor this afternoon but with the site being down and how busy they are I'm not expecting a reply any time soon.
UPDATE*****
Item came today. It looks like the USPS never scanned the DCN #. I ran the DCN # again after I received the package and there are still no updates at all. Just says that you will receive info after delivery. It's like the package never existed. Thanks USPS.
So Personally I will not sweat another delivery again.

USPS might be having problems. When I check the DCN numbers for my customers I am not getting the information that you wrote back. Instead mine says "sorry we cannot look up the information due to technical difficulties please try back later" since about Tuesday of this past week. Yet packages have all arrived to customers so thats good.
