Title: Silk Road Checkout Cart math incorrect
Post by: Funbagz on November 24, 2012, 04:53 pm
I just posted an order to my cart that including shipping was the Exact amount which i had left in my wallet. On a calculator the math works out fine. When I added the item to my cart and adjusting the shipping, SR has added .01 Bitcoin to my cost but there's no explanation for it. Is this something that is normal? Sucks I can't place my order.

Yes that is about the only thing i could think of myself. So I decided to post a topic to see if anybody else has noticed it. For example if I transfer 15.4759 from Gox to SR, I know it is going to probably be 15.46. So do those little fractions of a cent roll over into a private bank account like in Office Space?

I would bet it had to do with rounding also, though I just read something about the math messing up with someone's refund rate too.  This case seems more like rounding though  ;)

Well there you have it. The extra .01 that was tacked on to my bill, is also elusively sitting in your account. What is the cause of this random Ghost .01BTC?

...... maybe DPR forgot to hit the "TARE" button
