Title: Dead drop service
Post by: Mister Dank on April 05, 2012, 06:27 pm
The cops on here already know my general area. They've bought from me and know what post offices I use. So I don't think this exposes me anymore than I already am.

So I want to see if there is a market for dead drops on here in western Colorado. You send me BTC, I send you GPS coordinates of where to find your stuff (hidden under a picnic table for example.)

I sell only the finest Colorado chronic.

If you're going in to the PO to ship things, you're doing it wrong.

LOL...no Laughing Man, I don't walk into POs. What happens is that LE buys from vendors on here and sees what post office the package goes through. All collection boxes are assigned to a specific P.O. I've used collection boxes in several cities but it still reveals my general location.

Of course they know your general area, that doesn't mean they'll be able to track you in any way if you don't leave forensic evidence on your packages.

I know. That's why I said I wasn't worried about revealing that this is for western slope Colorado.

This just screams bad idea from every end of the spectrum. Both sides are taking serious and seriously unnecessary risks in this situation.

If the order is paid for via bitcoins, the vendor is not taking any more risk than they would be if they were mailing drugs.

I think this is a great idea, and if the amounts can be big enough I wouldnt mind the road trip.

This thread is fucking hilarious considering there is another thread with a poll on whether to have Mister Dank banned and others saying he is a suspected pig.

Why would anyone use it after this?

I don't think MisterDank is the correct person to begin this trend but I do think dead drops are a great tool.  There have been very successful vendors that use this method.  Only VERY REPUTABLE vendors dealing with bulk should offer this.

The buyer who accepts this proposal is assuming a HUGE risk. If any vendor I deal with asked me to go for a dead drop instead of the normal mail methods, I'd immediately suspect shenanigans, unless it were someone I knew personally.

That's quite the paranoia if you think that cops IN COLORADO would waste time setting up a sting through this site to nab someone buying an ounce or less of weed. You think they are going to stake out the drop point for hours for a misdemeanor that they'd have a hard time proving anyway??

Sorry, but you have to be a total moron to think that.

Dead drops are a brilliant idea, especially when it comes to bulk. It requires absolutely stellar reputation though on the sell side. Mister Dank why not make some listings on craigslist (through Tor) or put up flyers in the big cities in your vicinity. It could be very successful if you had a solid rep.

Who said anything about a stake-out? All they need to do is hide a $15 made-in-china webcam somewhere near the drop point. It's easy, simple and extremely feasible. But more to the point, I was thinking about larger orders than a dimebag of weed. Setting up a dead drop for such small transactions seems like more trouble than it's worth.

No it's a huge risk for the seller and the buyer. Someone who goes to a dead-drop only goes there for ONE thing and that is because they know there is something there that is left at that place specifically for them. Like the person above said anyone, specifically in this case the rozzers, would only have to use a hidden camera, which is pretty much standard Pig-kit anywhere in the world to build a case. And the Vendor IS in as much danger as much as the buyer because they have to place the product in the dead-drop in the first place.

On top of that to do a dead-drop it means you have to hide something in the open. Here are some of the problems with this:

1. No matter how well something is hidden, someone other than the buyer could find it.
2. No matter how careful you are you could potentially be seen dropping/receiving the product. Now if you are in the U.S given how hyped people are about terrorists and they see a suspicious package they are going to think "Bomb" and they will be all over it in minutes.
3. If you are already known to the police then because you are moving a fair bit of weight and they put you under surveillance they are going to see where the drop is anyway and they can put a camera on there to build a case against the seller and all the buyers who if they are buying weight will get fucked for distribution as well.

This is the sketchiest idea since the sketchiest idea was invented and it's from one of the sketchiest people on here. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea may as well book themselves a place in a cell now and start using dick flavoured toothpaste. Common sense people. God gave us it so we didn't get fucked over by the bacon. Let's use it.

What if the dead drop is in a place where there can't be a camera by law? :)
