Having just watched Enter the Void, it had me thinking about the availability of drugs and the scenes they're associated with in Japan. I also have a friend (fluent in the language) planning to live in Tokyo mid-year (it's definite). I've asked him about it, but he's said it's going to suck, in that respect. I think he has just said that to prevent further conversation - he wants to avoid temptation and the risks associated with getting busted there.
Has anyone lived/travelled to Japan and found them scarce? Like the film, do foreigners get their drugs from other foreigners or will locals open their wares to ex-pats? If you speak Japanese well does this make it any different (I know socially, it does. The Japanese aren't racist, they just prefer to not struggle communicating)? Would you only find local dealers in gang territory (that seems like too much trouble to put yourself in)?
Have any vendors sent to Japan and are there any vendors situated there? What is the success rate?
Also, I understand that drugs are a heavy taboo in Japan. Sorry I have a lot of questions, but I'm just very curious. What has SR to say?

Theres drugs everywhere...
-
Even though I don't live in Japan, never have, and don't plan on living there or going there any time soon...
...I'm strangely interested in the availability of drugs in Japan. Lol. :)
-
I used to work in a japanese restaurant, and I talked to the sushi chef who was born and raised in japan. He didnt tell me about the availability of drugs, but that the punishments were quite severe, much more so than USA, even for miniscule amounts of marijuana.
-
Why would you want to do drugs in Japan? There's enough crazy shit going on already...
-
an oz of high quality weed goes for $1000 in Tokyo.......Scary
-
There are drugs everywhere my friend. Even those "conservative" societies, when it comes to getting high, it's all pretense. I have a friend who lived in Saudi Arabia and he'd get backed all the time. In fact he went there a few months ago and he couldn't stop talking about the hash he got there. Quite a few of my smoking buddies are from the ME and most started smoking while in their respective countries. People obviously won't be very open about such things so it's hard to find a hook up. Best bet is to be friend some 18-25y.o and with some luck you'd be good to go.
-
I don't know anything about drugs in Japan, I've personally never sent anything to Japan, but if there are drugs there I bet they're really tiny and cute.
-
I read about a guy (not from Japan) living there.
Japan has a very strict policy on immigration and drugs. So, he was caught with 10 grams of weed and he was told to leave the country.
I did read it, so it may not be truth, can't tell if it's legit.
Found it: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/o6q74/i_was_arrested_in_japan_and_spent_3_months_in/
It was only 0.65 grams.
-
Theres PLENTY of meth in Japan, both crystal and the tablets from SE Asia, Most of the crystal comes from government labs in Nth Korea ! Its popular in the street racing/drifting scene.
Not much of anything else though, I swear thats why they have the pure oxygen bars in tokoyo, its the only way to get any sort of buzz on...huffing o2 :o
-
There is plenty getting around in Japan.
I know a few people over there and they are always high.
Raids happen all the time in their neighborhood.
Japan has one of the best rave scenes ;) ;D
Just dont use the governments data on drugs...
It doesnt happen. There is no drugs in Japan. The Japanese people DO NOT use drugs.
just like homeless people...there is no homeless people in Japan.
or fallout in fukushima... there is no nuclear fallout. What fallout??
lolz

i hear shibuya is the place to go, im told that just about any iranian guys there will be able to hook you up as they pretty much run a lot of the drugs trade out there (please dont take this as racist, its what i was reliably told by an iranian friend who has relatives living there) however i also hear that once you have made your purchase you should get the hell out fast as you can. it used to be shinjuku that was the slightly dodgier area but it seems to have moved in recent years. also i suppose it depends on your chosen substance, im not sure if they still do but at one point japanese headshops used to sell mushrooms and up until 1997 2CB was sold as a sexual aid for men in pharmacies under the name Performax if memory serves correctly. another thing i know about japan is that by far the most prevalent drugs are amphetamines, and its by quite a large margin (a statistic i saw said that in that year 80% of all drug arrests were for amphetamines)
that said you have to be aware that over there more so than most places drugs are frowned upon by the general populous, especially when its some gaijin (foreigner) doing it, so dont go trying to sneak a quick spliff in a quiet corner of the park or something, someone will notice and very likely dob you in (chances are the japanese drugs scene is lager than you would know as many users will keep quiet about what they do) remember over 50% of people in japan are approaching pension age and the older generations are still very much stuck in their way, again im not being racist in any way here, up until the late 1800s japan was a "closed" country, the only foreigners allowed in were certain dutch traders as they had a trade embargo of sorts with the dutch, so a little over 100 years or a mere 2 generations ago many people had never even seen a person from another country hence they tend to be a lot less trusting of us gaijin, its changing now slowly as they are exposed to the rest of the world but its still very much there.
this change can even be evidenced in recent times, look at japanese media, the stuff from the late 80's and early 90's was usually packed with gore and sex, ultra violent images were youre typical saturday morning watching, while we watched thundercats they were watching fist of the north star. fast forward to today and comics, anime and movies are getting the violence censored out and the sex toned down by a large degree, the only reason for this is that since the dawn of the internet the eyes of the world have been on japan as much as the rest of the world and our western moral code has started to penetrate through. so give it another 50 years and the japanese may be as open about drugs and their drug use as we westerners are but for now its still something thats considered by the masses to be something done only by the "rejects of society" etc
sorry im rambling on again arent i? i get like that when im bored and have no weed :P

And so much more efficient than anything made in the USA ;)

Haha , your quote just made my day!
Yea everywhere has drugs.
-
im trying to learn japanese right now so i can go there one day. hopefully there are many gajin lovers to say hello when i arrive. damn i hope thats not just a myth lol
-
Nope not a myth... there is an element of population that dig foreigners.
I have never met a gaijin that didnt creep me out though. There is something about the type that hangs out in Japan trawling the locals ::)
You will see it. You will not miss it. Some creepy bloke with a short beard and laptop bag hiding is semi hard on as he is reading dirty manga on the train.
Do you really want that?? lol Who cant resist japanese pussy?? ;)
-
Dont forget to bring your iodine pills, food, and water..
-
hopefully radiation wont be too bad in a year when i go......
and thank god i dont have to bring my own drugs. Thank you silk road

-
well i guess im gonna have to treat japan as a hard drug then.....Something I have to do and it will hurt me, yet make me feel great and fullfilled.
Time to shoot Japan in my viens

if i can give you one tip for learning japanese its this, immerse yourself in media, spend days watching japanese movies and tv, anime works especially well when youre starting out as anime characters tend to be a little more clearly spoken, the same can often be said for adverts. youd be surprised how much it helps. i can offer no help with reading and writing though, thats just a slog that youre going to have to drill into your brain (ok so maybe modafinil would help :P )

The easiest way in my opinion is to purchase some Japanese language learning games for the Nintendo DS or Playstation Portable. Surely there must be some decent apps available too if you own a smartphone.
-
i'm turning japanese, i think i'm turning japanese, i really think so!

i'm turning japanese, i think i'm turning japanese, i really think so!
Oh but surely you jest good sir?! :o
I'll be honest though, sometimes I turn a lil' chink-eyed after a good smoke.

^lol....
I have iphone and there are some GREAT apps for learning japanese.
I am also watching videos on youtube from japanesepod101 and japansociety,
I am learning fast this way.
I also saw the japanese movie called "air doll" with subtitles and yes it does help.
That movie is a trip.

watch the japanese movie called 'Battle Royale' ;)
You dont need to learn japanese to survive in Japan.
All you need to know is 'Beer, Excuse me(to order beer) and toilet(to dump waste beer)
Best place to learn Japanese is at an Izakaya....the pub
-
So little I can say about this subject without blowing my anonymity...
I love Japan, it's in my blood, I can't help it.
Cannabis grows wild in Hokkaido and other northern areas.
Actually, it is an ancient part of certain Shinto practices. I say 'certain' because there is always another family in Japan who disagrees with you. If I say A, they say B.. But there was an ancient Japanese dai ma scene, as it were. ( dai ma - great hemp). Its just really really not talked about.
-
i knew there was wild cannabis in japan but thought it was limited to the southern regions rather than the northern, you learn something new every day.
@novocaine
battle royale is a damn good film and a shocking one to boot, but if you want an even more shocking one watch ichi the killer.
-
ichi the killer is on my watch list...shall do thanks ;)
-
Thanks for the interesting discussion people! I'm quite surprised to learn about the Dai Ma scene and canabis growing in the wilds of Hokkaido.
Recently, I discovered that mescaline is not outlawed within Japan and that you can purchase peyote cacti!!!
If you're looking for an awesome, typically-deranged, trippy J-horror film, try finding House (aka Hausu).

舞の 日本人 sisters and brothers could work in concert together with their ancestors, their grandmothers and grandfathers and great great beyond, the many past, where all 日本人 are traced back to 天照 as surely as 僕. to create a great Shinto movement to re-awaken the use of herbal smoked sacraments (Historically these included 大麻 and probably some DMT containing grasses (大麻, under the right circumstances, can produce DMT in addition to cannabinoids)。 Your ancestors will thank you, and speak freely with you again If this should come to pass.

ok so we know they have drugs in Japan, its illegal like almost everywhere else so its super expensive there. the question is can anything be shipped there? anyone on the SR knows personally of getting items there? or any vendor has shipped there? experiences etc? i love Japan and want to live there some day. but shit man i need my weed.
-
Well worst comes to worst, your a short trip away from Thailand and several other fun exotic hotspots.
-
i heard that meth was popular in japan. i don't know if it is any more. after all, the japanese invented meth.
-
Am I the only one who watches "Locked Up Abroad"?
Fuck that Japanese prisons are so strict its not even funny.
Id rather be i shit hole south American prison, Even though it is terrible leaving condition and you have a good chance to be killed, at least you can get high and not have to endure that ultra ultra strict bullshit in japan.
Its not worth getting high for that shit
-
You would need a vendor who is very familiar with Japanese language and culture (underworld culture especially). and who is able to produce mail that is normal to Japanese regular mail. Also, I do not doubt 任侠団体 connections would help. They like to keep the Japanese drug trade tidily in their sight from what I know
-
Personally I've been to Tokyo and well.. when I walk round the streets of where I live in the UK I can tell pretty much who the drug takers are.. in Tokyo I couldn't do that. Not to say they aren't there, I'm sure there are.. but yeah
I'm thinking of going back and getting stuff sent to my hotel. Although I don't know if the japanese police will buy the whole "drugs? what drugs? what are you talking about". I might just end up with an asshole full of yakuza dick. On the up side though it probably wouldn't hurt too much.
-
i would think regular mail would make it to japan. I dont think that a vender would need Japanese envelopes.
-
Japan isn't a great place for druggies. As a foreigner you might be cut some slack, but the penalties generally are unforgiving and even harsh. As somebody else mentioned here, the conviction rate is very high for most crimes including drug "crimes." Drugs are hard to find, especially given that Japan traditionally has rigid, conservative morals. And as with almost anything else in Japan, drugs will probably be very expensive.
I have not researched Japan's postal system.
Overall using drugs in Japan seems really risky, and it's a temptation that's best avoiding especially if you're there only for a short period of time.
-
My buddy that lives in japan that a gram of mids goes for 70 bucks. He told me even the fake weed sells for a premium. Was japan always this strict about drugs or is this because when USA used to have them as Puppet government install strict drug laws?
-
gorram it. Don't make me re-write Japan's drug laws
Well..now that I think about it, it isn't a bad idea
-
i'm turning japanese, i think i'm turning japanese, i really think so!
Oh but surely you jest good sir?! :o

Awesome Gaz, now I'm gonna be quoting Cheech all night!
"Hehe... Hey man, lets go get chinese eyed!"

Yes. It's a lot trickier to get there but with some socializing you should be fine. Go to the local Trance parties. Be prepared to pay a lot of money (up to 200% in most cases) and the quality will not be the greatest.
-
Japan is pretty strict about drugs, but they've got some sick forests to trip in....with like creeks and forest critters and shit. :o Oh my god it's like your playing yourself in a Game Boy Pokémon game! Changed my life man. :-\
-
i can always extract my own mescaline in japan. =D Take that government!

I believe this video belongs here

That was a really good read.
I'm of the opinion that japan is cool enough to enjoy without any enhancements, unless of course you're there for a while
-
im learning all my japanese while hitting the bong. It helps me study,
so, i wanted to visit japan and started to learn the language and fell in love with the language. I never really liked Asian girls, but i really like japan so i am training my self to like asian chicks by masterbating to asian porn. Its been working
-
I cant do it... I think its the little noise japanese girls make that really turn me off. They are all the same. Its like they get taught that little fucking annoying sound of pleasure.
Japanese pussy is pixelated in real life.. I shit you not. :P
-
Will be going to japan for a home stay next year for 6-9 months (Doing a BSC honors in Computer Science + Japanese)
Been a weed smoker for the last 8 years and after reading about up on the internet I was like WTF...!!?
Read about a guys friend who sent him weed candy from USA and is still in prison for it.
Japan definately has a no shit policy on drugs, just look at Paul McCartney.
Supposedly it's available from street dealers for insane prices but if your caught with it expect to be imprisoned and never allowed entry again...
Its going to be one damn long tolerance break, guess ill have to take up alcoholism like the rest of the Japanese.
-
look what i just found on a vender's page guys.
5 of 5 Arrived in Japan after 10 days! Cool, all right. 13 days

and yeh, i know what you mean man. that sound they make does get a little gettin use to. Im sure though when your actually fuckin the girl it is very sexy. I fucked this one white girl that would cry during sex. It was kinda hot.
As for masturbating to asian porn to get urself to like asian girls, it all has to do with the brain. When you feel pleasure while looking at asian girls enough times, your brain will feel pleasue when you look at asian girls.. get it?
-

I think it's because they're tighter.. therefore it hurts more and they do the wail.

True.. but I fucked a korean girl who was brought up in UK, and she still made the same noise
-
hmm. that is very interesting.
may genetics play a part?, i wonder...
-
Asian snatches look nasty, but they usually have a very lean diet that makes the taste to die for! ;D I'd still rather do a white girl for the rest of my life though, but I'm never going near any purple nigger pussies because that smells like shit! :o
-
anyone else know anything interesting about Japan
-
Not sure about Japan, but the film Enter the Void.... I watched for the first time the other day on Juergens Mescaline... It was the biggest OMG WTF WTF WTF is going on ever.. I got everything up to the point he gets shot.. then drifts away.. OK his mates theory on life after death... BUT OMG ITS YOUR SISTER WTF ARE YOU DOING?! also that hotel, very cool... left me with a headache, I really want to watch it sober,,
-
Is there money in drugs? Theres good drugs to be had in Japan. It has a huge young party scene. When i was there last, the Canadians and Isralies were the goto guys, oh and the iranians but i think they are gone. Stay away from buying from locals untill you are sleeping with one, then you are pretty much in. Those Yaks are crazy dudes, leave tyhem too....
-
Shrooms were actually legal when I was over there. Not anymore. I had a favorite shop I would visit, they even had a point card. When the shop closed I was still a bag or two away from getting free shrooms!
-
A friend of mines a DJ and does these sets over in Tokyo every year at a very large club. He said he could get acid, mdma & ecstasy (as in pills and molly), hash, pot, amphetamine and methamphetamine. He didn't really get into specifics HOW but he said it's all connected to the clubbing scene. There was also heroin over there too though expensive as fuck.
-
this thread is interesting as fuck. i think it has something to do with how little we hear about that scene. it seems the government tries to keep it under wraps, and present a more composed image... i bet there are some crazy crazy raves over there!
my friend spent a year in hokkaido (sp?) and he said drugs were super expensive, and weed was really really scarce

Drugs are very expensive over there(EVERYTHING is very expensive) and very hard to come by. I would not be surprised if you could find some stuff in the club scene. But trust, me, drugs are not common. Most people are not doing drugs in Japan and it is hard as fuck to smuggle them in. There is a drug culture, certainly, but it is small and secretive.

Thanks for bumping this thread.
I started a similar one in shipping, since I'm going there next week. From what it sounds like, everything goes for about 10x the price :o

It took me 6 months to get into the drug scene in Japan.
Thing is, people are REALLY wary of narcs, and have good reason to be. For example, the NCIS (yes, the US NCIS) is active in looking for drug dealers that sell to US soldiers. They frequent clubs in Tokyo, and have an expense account.

“The NCIS is taking the spice problem seriously,” said the undercover agent. “When spice becomes a scheduled narcotic under Japanese law, service members caught with or distributing spice could be detained and charged under Japanese law.”
fake weed lol
-
A couple years back I was in Tokyo for 2 weeks on business and I managed to score some weed off some random Japanese guy with strangely colored hair at a beach in Kamakura just outside the city who was recommended to me by a Japanese work colleague. The weed was really good, I think it was probably from Amsterdam, but I paid like 100 bucks for 2 grams or something like that. Most foreign people I know who live there are way too scared of trying to score drugs because of all the harsh punishments and the undercover work the police there do, and they wouldn't dare order off here for example.
As mentioned in the thread already shrooms were legal there for a long time in the early 2000's, so on a previous trip many years before I had some great times tripping shrooms all over Japan with an ex-girlfriend, that time I just went there mostly for a vacation. I would not recommend visiting the abandoned Nara Theme Park while tripping. Definitely a good place to get some horrifying visuals and creepy feelings going on! Me and a few friends were convinced we saw ghosts and shit, after we went wandering around there for hours after eating a bunch of fresh magic mushrooms.
