Title: Verified on MtGox w/ Fake ID
Post by: jack2324 on September 12, 2012, 07:23 am
Mt Gox asked me if I wanted to get verified, so I hit yes (I mean, why not).  It asked for my name and birthday, so I put the one from my fake ID down.  Then it asked me for a scan of said ID.  How bad of an idea is it to send them a scan of this fake?

As a noob my self i thought i had to verify so i scanned my real id and it all went through... then i realised that you dont need to verify in order to use mt gox... it just means that if you do you can use more of the features they offer... so i made a new account (by accessing mt gox through my vpn) with a random username and a new tormail email address. my only concern now is walking into a barclays and depositing cash (theres no way im using my bank card). They advise against using cash because it cannot be tracked (im not sure if there are just saying that) I'd like to know how other users (in the UK) go about depositing cash and if its reliable.

As for the fake id... i wont have thought it was a good idea tbh but i guess that depends on how good the fake is. if they reject it, they'll have a copy of your fake with all the details and your photo on it... that may not end well...
