Hopefully the tide is turning from the absurd classification of "non-therapeutic" drugs. One can hope.

I would not call it surprising science really. Things like mushrooms, mdma, cannabis and such may prove to be of therapeutic value under certain circumstances.
This is not a scientific debate but a political one however. As we have seen with cannabis, once legal applications exit there will be legal sales. Perhaps the majority of users just get license to get high, there will be some that find sound medical use in such substances as well.
