New semester at college. More fresh pussy from high school, more parties, but there's always that thing you have to do to get good grades... We all hate it, but it has to be done :(
I'll start.
Your brain is usually most active during a certain time of the day, schedule your studying time for this. Are you usually up all night for some reason
Schedule a time? What are you daft?! No actually, I'm not. Setting a time mentally prepares you to be fully engaged into studying without your mind wandering.
Turn off the television, computer, and music while you study. Why? Two reasons; first your brain may be more stimulated when you have these things on but won't be able to absorb the material as well as it would otherwise. May be hard at first, but it gets easier after a couple times I promise. Second, it's scientifically proven that electronics emit beta waves; beta waves make your brain more dormant so you don't want that during study time... I suppose the tin foil hat on your head might take care of that though :P
Eat some quick brain food to boost your study yields and occupy your manual fixations, albeit shortly; apples, bananas, and nuts provide you with B vitamins, the "brain" vitamins, and nuts also occupy your manual fixation--apples also release choline which help process B vitamins faster.
That's all I got for now, keep 'em comin!

I heard there was supposedly a better video lesson site other than khan academy, anybody hear about it and have a link? Going through video lessons before I pick up the book has helped a lot, not with actual comprehension but stress, if I walk into class with my shit together already then the stress doesn't crush me. if I have already memorized most of the subject then i can sit in class and relax(usually high) and listen to a lecture that just reiterates what i have already learned then everything is much easier.
It works for me, it is all about stress reduction

I'll keep that in mind :)

There's coursera.com and udacity.com - mostly technical / CS stuff, but not only that. There's also a ton of stuff on itunes, free stuff from MIT's open courseware, shit, there's all kinds of stuff out there. Just depends on what you want to learn about.

Shout out to Coursera, their stuff is pretty good. I did a pharmacology course (did not take the quiz :P), and it was invigorating. Also, Stanford have collaborated with them recently and are offering a bunch of free courses, from mathematics to a crash course on creativity.

Oh staying on topic, everyone check out EDx. It's a joint effort by Harvard and M.I.T. that sounds similar to what Coursea's about. They offer really good courses and even offer certificates. If you guys already have knowledge about computers per se, and don't want to go about getting a degree in Computer Science; you can take a programming class from EDx and you'll get a certificate from M.I.T. in programming if you pass it. :P
Needless to say you'll easily get an entry level job from places that require any credentials

I love going to lecture high!
I'm always on my shit though. I don't have a TV in my apartment, not because I can't afford it, but because I know I'll just be distracted. I also have the slowest cable internet speed to keep me from downloading media constantly. So, when I get home, my entertainment has to be one of the subjects I'm studying. I'm sure someone with better self discipline wouldn't have to do this, but alas I'm not.

Huh.. that slow internet idea might actually help me o_o
Thanks man

i got a 3.23 GPA. and i blaze alot.
the trick to it, is time management. bitches love a smart dude.
so u get pussy and make the party for the bitches after u get smart
.. u accomplish this by.. sleeping early .. and waking up early.. point is get alot of rest..
take notes with a recorder while u take notes in class.. when u get home repeat the notes while hearing the lecture
i do this shit about 4 maybe 5 times..
they say a person learns something if he repeats it at least 12 times.
next is to eat a good meal. b4 u get in the groove. that bad day shit will fuk ur head up with headaches and stomach aches
students suffer from discomfort and stresses that can easily be handled
and sit close in class in da front..
keep squares out your circle.. and stop hanging with friends. college is real deal shit.

But having been that popular guy and going to a schedule adhering life, and even worse, being unable to be content with it sucks. What do I do metaphoe :/

Here are some websites that I found very useful over the past few years. Khan Academy is included there as well. These are free and some might require you to signup to access the specific course you are looking for.

That's beautiful bro, I think it's partially what's kept me from killing myself. If I follow the path I'm on, I'll be able to help mankind; even if I only become the profession I'm pursuing I'll be able to help it in the smallest way. Fuck, even if I pursue a life of chillaxing, I can't let others down just because I'm selfish.
-
u on point.. dont trip.. life has fudged up ways of pushin' us to better ourselves...
i try to learn my lesson before hand, that way i can overlook myself... plus your , your own biggest factor. anything or anyone else.. is second..
u gotta put yourself before everyone now..

I've been doing this punishment and reward system for memorization. When I'm correct I get to take a hit off the pipe and when I'm not I don't. I doing pretty good seeing as I'm pretty high....but will I remember later ???
