Title: Getting Bitcoins
Post by: BaconStrip on September 17, 2012, 11:38 pm
I've been lurking on the forums and silk road for a while now wanting to know as much as possible before making my first purchase. Now I'm trying to get bitcoins but it is a lot harder than it appears to be.

I only want to turn 70 dollars into bitcoin at this point but a lot of the known vendors require minimums over 100 dollars. I don't want to go through the big exchanges like bitinstant because I would have to launder the bitcoins afterwards, which would take out a certain amount a long the way and would take time to launder completely.  So I've messaged a few of the  bitcoin vendors to double check the amount I would get via the exchange they offer and they haven't responded back even after reading the message.

Can some recommend a reliable bitcoin vendor that could do this?

I'm also curious how to obtain bitcoins in general, paying the least vig possible.

I used to use bitfloor.com , but now when i visit it says due to a bitcoin theft transactions are suspended etc..

Can someone recommend an alternative? Ideally something similar (ID-less bank deposit), or whatever you recommend. I'm in the US.

I've used btcmaster several times via bank deposit with no problems, most times they were in my SR acct before I got home from the bank

BTCMaster requires a minimum so I can't use him. That's my current problem is there is a minimum on the exchanges.

bitinstant is 3.99% and then a $3.95 fee if you send money to an address

So can I just do a bank deposit to bitinstant and bitinstant straight to my SR wallet?

You can although some buyers like to send the bitcoins to Instawallet, Coinapult, or something similar before SR.
