Title: Any demand for items from Japan?
Post by: RisingSun on November 03, 2011, 07:55 am
Hi everyone!

I recently moved to Japan, and I got to wondering if there would be any market for items that are easy/legal to acquire here, but difficult/illegal to acquire elsewhere.

Obviously selling drugs from here makes no sense.
(Unless I would be selling something I can make in my apartment to other users in Japan.)

For example:
whale meat (especially whale bacon, which is cured and thus easier to ship)
scat porn (I believe this is illegal in the US?)
lolita comics
non-nude under-15 idol videos (would this be considered cp?)

I would also be willing to buy and re-ship any items you may have found online that only ship within Japan.

Does anybody have any suggestions for products?
Comments?

Thank you.

There is a lot of cool stuff in Japan that is hard to get anywhere else. First thing that comes to my mind are high end ball pens and mechanical pencils - many companies produce them only for the japanese market and collectors all over the world have to import them.
Electronics, gourmet green tea would be another idea.

And of course werid tasting candy! Cucumber Kit Kats anyone? How about Miso soup flavour? :)

If you did a good research and compile a list of interesting stuff to buy (prices and shipping), I am sure you would have many customers, me included.

We have whale meat here in Norway... mmmm... Cetacea

But what I would be interested in is other food items from Japan. Like those bottles of Soda that you push down a marble to get it to fizz,
Poki, bento boxes with Hello Kitty all over it(dude I am dead serious), loads of different Anime items, and loads of different types of candies :D

Count me in for stuff !!

I wouldn't mind a couple of sushi rolls. And that dolphin on a stick sounds interesting, is it boiled it fried in a tempura batter? I would prefer the tempura is at all possible.

What would the shipping time to Aust?

If you can send this to me:

My BTC's are yours!

Ice Cucumber Pepsi!  :)

Ahh the season specials. Unfortunately the season`s over and all of them are not in production now. There were a few boxes in my hometown not so long ago. I will check nationwide and see if I can find any of them. In the future your best bet would be early in the summer for these special flavors.

Edit: Checked with my hometown`s store, they have a stock of Salty Watermelon Pepsees. Sales start from 24th of July. This will be the new summer release for Japan this year. Pic below:

Oops, I think I might have missed the dolphin part. I live a bit far from that prefecture and don`t think a dolphin on a stick would pass through Australian customs. I tried whale bacon for the very first time yesterday. It was really tough, gnawy meat. I don`t think it should be considered a delicacy here. Sushi rolls/sushi/tempura, sure. I will check with Australian customs first. I`ve seen many episodes of 'Nothing to declare' an Australian show about border patrol/customs. I can say confidently that Australia has one of the strictest customs process.

Edit: As I feared I cannot send any uncanned meat products to Austrailia, including anything consisting of dairy. For more information read here: http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/mail/cant-mail
I can send レトルト food and other items though.  Items of any type take 3 days or more to ship to Australia even with the fastest shipping due to Australian Customs. While Sushi and other perishable goods may be out of the questions, there are other foods I can deliver. Sorry but Austrlian customs is quite tough, especially with foods/animal products/seeds/plants/animals/organisms because they could be a potential threat to Australia`s unique environment/crops.

Have you considered looking at super stealth packaging. As after some of my own investigation there Dora seem to be a really high demand for the Dolphin on a stick. Yes it is used for "recreational pleasure. But also people have been found to smoke or IV to get an almost utopia like reality. Like swimming under the ocean and being free.

Please check it out, I can live without the sushi. But the DOS we need. Also alive if possible.

I was just curious, in my parents days Whale meat was abundant and was served a lot in their lunch menus. At that time it was fished a lot and quite cheap. Now due to Whaling agreements, the price is high. You might want to sample some before it becomes illegal altogether though. It was interesting to taste, but has no chance of replacing chicken, pork, beef, fish or other meats. It really is a nomad`s dish.

Thank-you Mr. Imaginary for your research :)

Shame about the cucumber! Salty Watermelon sounds good though! Did the Pepsi Ice Cucumber taste of actual cucumber - just really curious!

Can you get hold of any of these?

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3457/3827184659_388dfd4f7d.jpg

Lotte's Crunky Nude Balls!

It's the name that does it for me - I like nude balls, and the crunky part makes them sound that much sweeter!  :D

The cucumber did leave a aftertaste of cucumber, to be honest cucumbers don`t have a lot of taste. The Shiso was probably the winner. We also had African bark tea pepsi and a Brazillian pepsi.
Crunky series is one of Lotte`s well know series, unfortunately the series you have mentioned is discontinued. The prototype was released in Japan but didn`t do so well. We do however still have the original series and new flavors, 10 different ones in total. If you have a sweet tooth I can recommend you some confectionery for I try out different snacks all the time.

Hey, this is actually a pretty cool idea! I'd love to buy some awesome Japanese stuff. I'll keep this in mind.

Thank you for your interest. I sell medical aid/emergency foods/arts and crafts usually, but I noticed this and thought it would do me good to get some feedback for my account.

I am also interested in a bitcoin japanese vendor. Ex fan boy who still loves the culture.

There are a few Japanese vendors, really few. Most buy from Mt.Gox since its stationed in Japan. Almost no-one in Japan here uses bit-coins for SR or similar sites, so they don`t fear buying from Mt.Gox.

I wouldn't mind buying a finely crafted Kiseru with some Koiki to smoke with it! I would love you more than the rest of these chumps on this thread if you could! :D

My hometown happens to produce such crafts and we have a selection of good Kiserus, if you would like a custom Kiseru; that can be done as well. Yes there is plenty of Koiki as well.
Thanks OP

While there is a prefecture that fishes Dolphin, the meat is very rare and usually not sold. I have a feeling you`re trolling me as I have never heard of such a thing. I guess I`ll be adamant then, I will not export live Dolphin at any cost. I don`t have the heart to do such as thing.

I'm in for the watermelon pepsi, how do I purchase?

The Watermelon Pepsi will be available for sale on the 24th of July. They are sold by cartons. Each carton has 24 X 490 ml bottles. It is the minimum so far as I will probably lose money selling them per piece. I`m open for split orders such as a group buying a carton, which can then be divided and shipped off to the individuals. Otherwise the minimum would be a carton. Feel free to discuss it amongst interested parties, there is still plenty of time. If you want to purchase a carton pm me and I will get a instant quote on the shipping options.

Do they have those weird panty machines and tentacle porn? And why scat porn? Japan is full of strange things. The Japanese part of youtube is fuuuuuuuucked up man.

Yes we do have panty vending machines, we also have tentacle porn. Scat porn does not originate from Japan, most fingers point toward the Germans. I also sell Porn DVDS/media and such small time,  a market that appreciates it would be great. Yes, Japan is full of strange things.

The persons you want will cost you a good hefty amount, upfront. Suicidal thoughts are for free, we have plenty to share with the rest of the world. I also am a guide for the Suicide forest (Aokigahara) which also happens to be near my hometown. If anyone every drops by feel free to contact me. We can go visit the ice/wind caves, abandoned hospitals and search for carcasses. Its really great.

Damn! You beat me to it- vending machines with school girl knickers (used off course!!) Oh dear- as for scat, I saw a video of a beautifiul bevy of japanese young women parading down a busy street- covered in shit and wiping it over each over!!!!!- the amazing thing was the reactions of passersbys- they thought it was hilarious- not the shocked, horrified looks they would get in most countries!
I love travelling- experiencing different counties and a great supporter of "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" BUT one does have to draw the line somewhere!!!

Most Japanese are known to be shy/quiet/submissive due to our culture. There are many videos of women getting gangbanged and such on public trains/bus/places. No-one has the guts to tell the individuals performing sexual acts to stop or tell that they feel uncomfortable. We also have a penis festival (yes you read that right), a festival dedicated to penis and other things..

I find it a fascinating culture, scat and schoolgirls knickers are not to my "taste", but everyone to their own!, I've heard that Westerners find it difficult interpreting  Japanese sex culture, as it is the done thing for the woman to protest and say no when she really means yes, if the bloke is not aware of that, from a Western prospective, he would sop as it is seen as rape, so their are vastly different cultural differences to get ones head round!
I lived in India for a good few years and I always used to get really angry when I heard tourists say "This should not be allowed" and other such banal staements- The statement "East is East and West is West" is one of the most truest things one can say!!!

Hmm.. I just want to point out most of us don`t have an interest in 'scat' porn. Yeah, many are fascinated by the sex shops/public wanking stations/massages/etc. Funny thing, I`ve lived in India for quite a number of years myself. Man India was really nice, its spontaneous Anarchy for the most part.

Lolita is actually underage porn afaik.

Also, 15 yr old idols? I see a bunch of seedy Japanese husbands with the schoolgirls - if any older guy messed with my daughter I'd kick the everliving out of him.

But scat?

That shit again?

Japan is a nation that is kind of funny.

Polite on the outside but inside, I see Kamikaze scat porn and cartoons of kids watched by men?? Something wrong somewhere. I have been. Lovely people. I never saw girls covered in shit or any people having sex on the trains.

I saw a documentary on the Suicide Forest on Vice. It was pretty depressing. It's a beautiful peaceful place. There were abandoned cars in the parking lot and lengths of fluorescent tape wrapped around trees in case someone decided to change their minds about suicide so they can find their way back. This guy patrols the woods and talks to people and finds corpses every few weeks.

isn't there some kind of rare mushroom from japan that extremely potentiates the effects of alcohol.

i think I read something about it making you able to "get drunk from a cordial cherry"

And definitely get some of those crazy and unique electronics. (I am sure that japan see's a lot of this stuff on the consumer level before most other countries)

And can't you get various types of amphetamine pills for dirt cheap in japan.

I`m not sure about that mushroom. I`m a amateur mycologist and keep many book including the identification of domestic mushrooms in Japan. I will research my books and get back to you on that. As for electronics, I am a fan of those myself and do have access to a lot of cool stuff. I also happen to have a weapons classified 'Thermal Binoculars' I hope to put it up for sale in the armory at some point, but for now won`t. Japan has some really neat things. As for amphetamines, those are the #1 choice drugs among Japanese. They aren`t cheap in general, but for the Japanese it might be as their living costs are higher than most countries.

Sorry I have a strict policy that includes not selling drugs/pharma. I will be selling medical aid, but not those. Also Japan is not a place that deals with Zaleplon, your best bet would be a Biochem dispensary or other sources.

Sure I can do that :) I`d suggest buying something other than lazers, you can buy those elsewhere. I`m a big tech/gadget fan, and go to Akihabara every now and then. Akihabara (you should look it up if you don`t know) is the capital of technology related products, as well as anime, games and other things. I`d advise you to think what you want before sending me credit. There are many cool and random things from varying prices, so it may not be necessary to spend a lot depending what you`re thinking of.
