Title: First order;vendor has tracking number but says he will only release if dispute?
Post by: rzagzamethodman on September 19, 2013, 06:54 am
Hey, this is my first order, its some co2 oil. Vendor says he has the tracking number but will only give it to me if we dispute.. is this normal?

seems right to me -- tracking numbers are very sensitive information that  could tip off authorities to the sellers location. While a longshot - still possible. Really shouldnt give it to anyone but themselves... but perhaps they trust SR admins slightly more than yourself.

I think vendors do this to stop anxious newb customers drawing attention to the package by checking its tracking status every ten minutes, through Tor, especially.  The tracking is to protect vendor from fraudulent no show claims mostly, to prove that it was sent, not to reassure the customer. The customer has the protection of escrow.
