Title: Buying bitcoins from the money section on the SR
Post by: Septimus W Smith on April 26, 2013, 04:14 pm
Hey,

Right, I've not made my first purchase yet. I'm trying to get my head around the safest (least traceable) method of putting bitcoins into my SR account. I've been looking specifically at this listing http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/item/342db7251b/20.

So how good an idea, in terms of security, is this sort of method as opposed to buying from a dedicated company? Does dealing in cash give an extra level of protection or am I confusing myself?

Thanks

Not familiar with this vendor, but this is pretty much the worst way to go about obtaining BTC. This transaction wouldn't be through the SR escrow system, so you would have no protection whatsoever. You would be completely at the mercy of the vendor. Once you send that money, it's gone. Maybe you'll get your coins. If not, there's nothing you can do about it.
