Title: Bitcoin - OTC few question
Post by: VinniPukh on October 19, 2012, 04:59 am
Hi.

I am new here and I am trying to get some bitcoins.

I am in the EU country with no easy access to local BTC traders, so I decided to give bitcoin-OTC a try and buy few BTC with SEPA. My question is if it is a normal procedure to be asked for a passport picture. A vendor told me, that some buyer was using a fraudulent account and the vendor's bank account has been blocked, so he wants to stay safe.

Is there any other way to get BTC safely and securely?

Thank you!

Vinni

don't give anyone your details. There are planty of vendors so ignore this guy.

Check their ratings, check who left those ratings, check the web of trust, make sure they are authenticated.

Then ask them a few questions until you are comfortable with them. maybe do a small transaction for first time that you can afford to lose. Once you have found a decent vendor, stick with them.
