So we meet again the guy that never uses the search option!
localbitcoins is legit I've done quite few transactions already I'm meeting the vendors in public places face to face. If you're a pussy or too paranoid to meet strangers you can wire the money but your chances of getting scammed increase.
-
I've never used BTCFaucet although I've spoken to him / her and they seem trustworthy enough
I've dealt with user 'pharma1' on though (and he offers the same service here) and it was by far the easiest way to buy BTC I've used so far

Well to be fair, OP was asking about a specific guy on localbitcoins, not whether the site itself was legit
I kind of don't want to say the name of my BTC exchanger that I found on localbitcoins :X I know, cunty of me
He's really awesome (and cute!) and I don't want to lose out on his services if he gets more business than he can handle

1) You're being unfair: has anyone used btcfaucet on localbitcoins.com?
2) There is no way to recommend a vendor on localbitcoins as you do not want to compromise your location, unless you want to wire the money which I mentioned.

I didn't expect a defensive response.. it's not that serious, and I really don't think I came off rude/smartassy.
Don't see how I was being unfair either.
Anyway, it doesn't matter whether you can recommend a specific seller from localbitcoins or not (you can by the way, it's just not smart to do so publically) cause that's not what OP was asking. If you felt the question he was asking couldn't be answered, saying so would've been better than trying to call him out for not searching the forums for information he wasn't asking for.

Look, your just going to have to take the risk for yourself.
Giving the user name of your exchange can have serious implications, not only will it narrow down your location, which may not bother you but your exposing them without there knowledge, (security is a two way thing), it will also compromise the seller who may not want to be associated with silk road, although it is not illegal to sell coins, providing finance for illegal means is a VERY serious offense, taken very seriously by SOCA, HMRC, IR, all of which are able to bring individual investigations and charges, but you know this because you have done your research.
Point to note, i have seen at least one uk coin seller approach you about offering you the exact service you require, i suggest that instead of blabbing names over the forum you pm him and discuss the set up and make a deal, start small until you feel comfortable.
Just because this is on an anonymous web site don't ever think your invisible, complacency gets you caught and drags down any others you have been stupid enough to mention.

thank you for your help (wee bit of sarcasm for you) if you read the post above i said "ill jus have to get in touch with this person and see how it goes" meaning im going to take the risk myself,iv been using the road for a while now i now what risk is..secondly i made sure the name i mentioned was a name that couldnt be pin pointed to 1 location if you look at it on localbitcoins its all over the show so my "stupidity" of name mentioning is gona be dragging anyone down any where exspecially since as you say selling btc isnt illegal..cheers 8)
-
Maybe not location specifically but it can be pinpointed to one person, have you asked this man if its ok to advertise his name on this forum, to ask if hes ok to exchange money with to buy illegal substances? There are clearnet forums you can do this without arousing suspicion or shining a spotlight onto someone.
I think you miss the point i'm trying to make, but i will wish you well in your search.
