Hi,
To be fair, I will not name the product or seller, I am just looking for some opinions regarding an order that has ended up in the resolution center.
I ordered a small quantity of something at the end of July. The order showed shipped 30 minutes after I placed it.
A number of orders I placed around the same time have all arrived, some from the EU, while this was from a US seller.
The order was getting close to auto-resolve (the order screen showed it to be 3 days away from auto-finalizing), so I clicked resolve and extended the date by another 4 days, figuring it was just hung up in the mail.
The next day when I checked my orders I see that the seller has made his own resolution offer.
It seems that the seller knew that there was a problem with some orders not being delivered, without getting into details he basically indicated that the fault was his.
He then offered a 60% refund and free reship.
Normally, if it was simply a case of my order getting hung up in the mail and lost I would just accept it as the cost of doing business. Which I probably will do anyway. Losing $40-$50 isn't going to kill me.
But two things bother me. One, he knew about this and couldn't be bothered to PM me. He says he posted it on his profile page, but to me that's just lazy, leaving it up to the buyer to have to go looking to find out that their order might be lost.
Second, he admits it was his fault for shipping it the way he did.
His offer of a free reship is nice, but since he does not have stock, and isn't sure when he will, I have to wonder if I will ever see that free reship. My guess is that I would have to keep watching this sellers listing until I see the same product in stock and PM him to remind him of his promise.
I find it rather annoying. Is it just me or is the seller showing a rather lacked amount of professionalism.
Should I have been happy with what he offered and hit accept right away?
Thanks :)

No, you should get a full refund (USD equiv, not BTC) since he failed the resolve the issue in a timely manner and furthermore didn't notify you.

Any reputable vendor will give 100 percent refund. Granted, some of them work on tight margins, but still, I would not accept anything less than a full refund. If he said it was shipped, etc that would be a different issue, but that's not the case. It sounds to me that it was never sent, so if that's the case, the vendor isn't out anything.
