Title: Becoming an adult
Post by: outoftime20 on August 07, 2012, 02:20 pm
Are you supposed to still feel like a kid on the inside even when you turn 18? I know this totally isnt drug related at all but I honestly thought Id get the best feedback from an open-minded forum like this.

Also, does anyone else miss the innocent enthusiasm of being a little kid? I dont know if this is normal or if certain abuse I went through made me developmentally retarded, and if it did how I can fix that?

Adulthood is a state of mind, not an age limit. I only became adult in my thirties.

There is an actual transitory age between teenage and adulthood, which can last long.

I believe one of the necessary conditions for being an adult is to stop playing any games with yourself, making up excuses for yourself and being a victim. Being adult is to take responsibility for your actions and needs.

well, when you turn 18 you actually are still a kid.  at least in this western society.

personally, no, i don't miss anything about being a little kid.  I hated being a kid...all those rules, schedules, school, parents, bullies, lack of money, no time to myself, being an idiot due to lack of any real life experience, etc.  the older i get the more I enjoy life.  but i'm the kinda guy who tries to figure out the right things to want and then does whatever the fuck he wants.
