Am I being scammed?
I placed an order on 7/29 and finalized early. The seller marked it "in transit" on 7/30.
The It is now 8/10 and the order has no arrived (domestic). I sent two messages to the seller, and I had no response to either one.
What do I do?
The seller's name is MrFungi.

Contact s/r admin asap

Yup, MrFungi is a thief. Here's my post on the topic: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=34836.0
I'm new here and don't know of any options other than describing what happened in feedback and posting on the forum, so the idea of letting an SR admin know sounds good to me. How do we do that?
-
Just did my 'homework' and used the Contact Us link on SR to send a message about MrFungi to the admins.
I looked at his latest feedback and there's an entry from a user who's going through a similar experience - no responses to their messages on the account where they placed the order and FE'd. But this user also sent a message from a different account and got a quick reply from MrFungi, saying he's way behind reading messages, etc. etc. Looks like he's quite diligent in dealing with new prospects and otherwise doing business as usual while ignoring the growing number of people he's causing problems for.
-
Yup, I wrote that. The same thing happened with my first order, not reading my messages. Didn't reply until I made another account and inquired about a purchase. Then I called him a scammer and he denied it and came up with a few excuses but I was eventually given a tracking number and my order arrived in all its glory not long after.
So I don't know what his deal is. Scamming selectively maybe, maybe just getting lazy. My first order was for 1/4 O most recent one was for 1/2 O which looks to be lost... FML
We sent quite a few friendly messages back and forth and he did seem like a decent guy, who knows maybe he'll pull through. I sure hope so. Does look grim though.

Looks like MrFungi's listings and vendor page are now gone.
-
Looks like ive been done too !!
Soooo gay..
-
Yes, unfortunately I have not received my tracking number either ...

Guys, WHY do you Finalize Early?? Escrow is there for a reason. It doesn't matter how good the deal seems to be, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. I always find it a little suss when a vendor sells mostly 0.5 and 1g packages then all of a sudden has 1/4, 1/2 and full ounces for sale at ridiculously low prices and wants buyers, regardless of how good their stats are, to FE.
IMO, anyone who Finalizes Early for any vendor is just playing with fire and if you play with fire, you'll eventually get burnt. :)

Wadozo, I'm not griping about anything other than this vendor's behavior. I informed myself about FE and the possible consequences and actively took on the risk. I'm sure there are users who FE without weighing the risks but I'm not one of them, it's the price I chose to pay in order to get started more quickly as a new SR buyer (and the few dollars I lost are not going to cause me to lose any sleep.) But I do still reserve the right to call out a vendor who chooses to abuse FE.
Rather than 'why do you finalize early' my question would be 'why does finalize early exist as an option at all'? Are you saying you think it should be eliminated altogether - that would seem to be easy enough to do. Maybe there's enough of a grey area that justifies the existence of FE as a tool to keep the wheels of SR greased.

Strix747, I doubt SR would remove the option to FE as some people choose to do that. Also, a vendor with 35+ transactions can demand certain buyers, usually ones with bad stats or newbies with less than 10 transactions, to FE before they ship the package. I can understand this point of view from a vendor's perspective, however, there are a lot of vendors who will let you stay in Escrow. DPR mentions this in his statement on the SR homepage "A few words from the Dread Pirate Roberts"
It comes down to some personal responsibility in my opinion. I totally respect your right to FE if you wish to do so, but if you browse the forum or look at some vendor's feedback, the number of people who do FE is incredible. Constantly, throughout this forum, there are buyers who FE, saying they are pissed off cause they got scammed. I understand they are pissed, but they only have themselves to blame. I'm not trying to be a prick here but we as buyers should try to follow the guidelines as set out by DPR. That way, if something does go wrong, you won't lose your coin and an Admin can make a fair and equitable resolution based on the facts. :)

He owed me a syringe after the LC he sent me was bunk. Kinda figured I wasn't gonna get it when he started selling all that meth and was asking people to FE. Definitely seemed fishy, but I was hoping he would make good on his Cubes business. Guess he bounced tho =/.
-
>:( can the admins even do anything about it if you FE'd?
-
Yeah I didn't receive mine either... And also finalized early..
Its easy to sit there and say that I'm a fool for FE.
But as a fairly new international SR buyer I had just about no other option but to FE unfortunately...
I knew that I was taking a gamble and accepted the risk on a fairly small order..
I also done the same with other vendors at the same time and both arrived without a drama..
If you know a good honest meth vendor that works within escrow for a trusted international buyer let me know.
-
for now i'd just contact every meth vendor that ships international and ask them to make you a small custom order. FE on like 10 small custom orders. after that you won't be so new anymore, you'll have some kind of relationship with vendors and have an idea of who you like/trust and whose meth is good. from there you can order medium orders from the best 2 or 3. and then a big order from the best one that will use escrow.
