Title: Delivering to Business (worried aussie buyer)
Post by: rogerjames8891 on September 24, 2011, 09:08 am
If you own a home based business and your business (home) address is promoted online with a list of staff (none of which live at said address). Would it be safer to order using MY name or one of my workers name?

I live in Australia where customs is the strongest in the world so I'm trying to be as cautious as possible before ordering. Since there will be no proof I ordered the product (bitcoins+reputable SR vendor) and my address is online for the whole world to see, I should be okay if the package got caught? Someone might be sending this as a threat to the business, prank, present blah blah....

What are your opinions?

Don't put your staff name on it. For one, if you respect them that little, you might think about hiring new staff. Also, they might open it. Also, if someone was playing a prank, it would be on you the business owner.

I don't mean to hijack, but roger you have brought up an interesting issue.

In my opinion, if you placed the order to a business address, it would probably be best to put the business name as the name?

Also, Lexus is right, don't identify an individual within the company, because it would be more difficult to say it was a prank.
However, if it was addressed just to the business, it may be plausible that some entity was trying to frame the business.
ie:

FREDS TOMATOES PTY LTD
1412 BLAH ROAD
ASSVILLE QLD ... lol

Although that would open a whole different can-of-worms in regards to LE investigations...  :-\

Working at various different businesses, mail like this is quite common...

Attn: business owner
ROGER'S CLOTHING STORE
33 Pitt St
Sydney NSW

Obviously it's usually some sort of advertising material but still, if said mail was coming from say London to Sydney, it shouldn't ring any bells and if it was caught x-rayed and LE was alerted my name is nowhere on the package. My business website gets a lot of hits and lots of people see my business address everyday.

Any more opinions on this?
