Title: Question on PGP key expiry
Post by: jimmyv on September 16, 2013, 03:47 am
If I set an expiry on my key say 5 days from now, does that mean the vendor after 6 days won't be able to read it because it's expired? Would that help protect my info from being rediscovered by others later? Is that a good idea?
Thanks!

In 5 days your keypair will be expired. Your vendor will still be able to read the msg you sent him but if he sends you a msg in 4 1/2 days and you try to read it in 5 days you wont be able to. No need to set an expiration date on it.

Ok good to know. I presume vendors delete addresses, or at least say they do?

They should delete. Vendors are not allowed to save addresses.
