Title: Installing Tails, OSX.
Post by: Ratsforthepoor on August 24, 2013, 03:48 am
I'm trying to install tails onto a USB with OSX. I have burnt the .ISO to DVD, but when I reboot, it doesn't boot do DVD. The disc starts spinning, then stops, then OSX loads.

anybody care to assist me with this?

Can you try getting to the boot menu? Hold option (alt) after a restart, before the apple logo and see if you can choose to boot from dvd there

Hey thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestion, and I could only choose the main HDD or recovery HDD. The .ISO is definitely on the disc though.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

I'm not positive, but I think you're going about it the wrong way. You say you're trying to install tails to a USB, and you have burnt the ISO to a DVD. Why not just burn the ISO image directly to the usb?

After that check your system configuration to make sure it can boot from usb and run tails as normal.
