Title: encrypting a dvd-r
Post by: lvlota on December 30, 2012, 02:23 am
ok so i have this dvd-r formatted like a usb and i have all of my stuff on it i.e tor browser , gpg4usd, and everything related. I was wondering if i could encrypt the entire disk while still being able to execute the files i need to use like tor and gpg4usd and still be able to write more data on it after its been encrypted.....i would test itfor myself but i only have this one dvd-r and dont want to fuck it up seeing as all my data is on it.....
thanks.

Not a dvd -r its not rewrite-able. If you had a dvd rw you could create an encrypted container and write and rewrite to the disk all you want. That would get rather annoying though. Every time you added or removed anything from that encrypted container you would have to write the whole thing to disk again. You should really pickup a USB thumb drive.
