Heroes,
I'd really like to start giving back to the community but I'm more than a teensy bit paranoid about how the whole process goes for new sellers. Could someone PM me some general info for stealth-shipping bud? I have an Impulse vacuum sealer on order along with some regular 4 mil plastic bags and 6 mil static-shielding moisture barrier bags and plan to use both, but what else am I missing out on as far as packaging, labeling and postage is concerned?
Or do I just stick it in a flat-rate box, print out some labels, throw on some stamps and call it good?
I've been lurking around the forum for a few weeks now and have most of the newbie-stuff figured out but reasoned I should ask first before possibly jeopardizing any potential buyers with my idiocy.

You can always order some samples from other sellers and see how they package it.
I've seen others put the bud in a small tough box, vacuum sealed inside another static shielding bag. Maybe print out a fake invoice too and throw that in there with the bubblelined envelope for small orders or flat-rate box for larger ones.
Good luck

Always double or triple vacuum seal your weed, then some ideas for packaging: candles, dvd cases, etc. no coffee

concealing it in another object is an easy way to get pwnt by x-ray

Thanks for the replies. As for a hypothetical, would anyone recommend putting it in film canisters, vacuuming it, and then putting it in one of those xray-proof lead bags photographers use to ship film? Or would that just draw unwanted attention?
Also does anyone have any experience with using something like this (http://unitednuclear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=28_44&products_id=797)? I was thinking one could spread a thin amount around the inside of the package, and then the buyer could scan it with a UV light if so desired to check whether or not the package was opened.
Or would the cops have enough probable cause to bust you just for waving a UV light on the package?

FYI: Do not bother with vacuuming the bags. Pulling a partial vacuum will do absolutely nothing to slow down diffusion rates of scents through plastics.
I know this seems counter-intuitive, but diffusion currents easily flow against atmospheric pressure.
If you have a pinhole in your bag the vacuum will help for a little while, but once the pressure equalizes it does no good.
Instead seal with a bit of air, then stick in a bucket of water and squeeze it to see if any bubbles come out.
The Food grade vacuum sealers won't necessarily hurt, but they tend to have rather narrow seal widths and are inferior in that respect to industrial or commercial use sealers. The TEW impulse style sealers can be purchased with 5mm or 10mm seal widths on ebay for $100 or so.
Avoid food grade stuff in general.

That would suck to check for bubbles and find a leak and give your product a nice bath. It's a good suggestion though. :)

A guy i know in town gets lbs. in the mail sometimes. I've gone over there when he's opening a box, one time his guy sent him a pound or two, and i think it was in a Pin Yata(sp?) with a bunch of that plastic Easter grass and an Easter basket.
Seemed legit

That's novel, a bit overkill for my purposes though. The more I lurk the more it seems plain, nondescript packaging is the way to go, plus some vacuum bags, a hard box of some kind, a non-vacuumed moisture barrier bag per FarmerBob's suggestion in another post, and maybe a few minor obfuscations of my own design.
Any thoughts on the UV powder / gel I posted earlier? It's supposedly non detectable without a UV light and hard to wash out, so if someone at the post office opens one of the inner bags and then reseals it for a controlled delivery they'd spread invisible UV-reflective powder over the rest of the package which could be seen with any sort of blacklight. If it works it would be a godsend, but if the police would have enough evidence to arrest merely for scanning a package with a blacklight it would certainly defeat the purpose.
Think I'll order some and post back if it works out, but if anyone knows more about the legality that would be peachy-keen.
