Title: Bitcoin wallet not updating blocks????
Post by: raistlin on May 22, 2012, 10:28 pm
Probably just a balls up on part but my bitcoin wallet isnt updating blocks - and then like an eejit I sent some coin to that instead of my new one.
It did pop up an error message but now isnt doing that - and again like an eejit I didnt copy what it said.
It wasnt a great deal of coin so not the end of the world.
Just thought id see if there was a solution from the great minds on the road.

i think if you re-scan the block chain your wallet will then be updated.i had a similar problem before when my pc died on me resulting in complete destruction, after backing it all on to discs and re-installing i had to re-scan the block chain in oreder to update all the blocks my wallet had missed during meltdown.the most up-to-date versions of bitcoin wallets should atomatically re-scan on launch i think, if not then you can comand your wallet to re-scan before start up..........hope this helps but im a bit of a twat when it comes to this shit so maybe someone else can give more technical detail
