Title: worried about international order.
Post by: lazym on December 28, 2011, 09:16 pm
I'm currently waiting for an order from Nucleo. Now I know I really should just calm down and stop stressin' about it, but I can't! ;)

Order shipped on the 21st, left country of origin on the 23rd - and since then usps tracking has said: Origin Post is Preparing Shipment

The logical part of my brain is saying "no biggie, most of my international orders (legit) stay in that state for about a week"
but there's this little devil in my brain saying "why is it sitting in customs for so long?"

Anyone have any wisdom to calm my brain down? ;)

Thanks!

lazy

There's this thing called Christmas, you see. And USPS are shit at updating the status of the packages they handle. I'm sure your package will arrive soon, try not to worry too much.

If a parcel or letter has been intercepted, it will be handed off to ICE from the local customs agent and then sent by fedex to your local USPS distribution center to establish chain of custody and a Postal Inspector will examine the contents and likely a replica package will be inserted along with a tracking device. The fedex to USPS seems bass-akwards to me since nothing establishes chain of custody like USPS certified mail but that's exactly what I've seen happen in the past, so, whatever.... In any case, a chain of custody must be maintained to keep the integrity of the case they're building to bust you.

A Postal Inspector will be the one to actually deliver the package to your door. Postal inspectors are not permitted to wear carrier uniforms as this is entrapment so WATCH THE FUCK OUT!

Furthermore, all this stuff takes time. If your package does not arrive within 24-48 hrs of your expected deadline, just walk away. Don't sign anything and DO NOT BRING ANYTHING INTO YOUR HOME! A warrant can only be executed if you sign for the package and bring it INSIDE.

EXAMINE THE PACKAGE! EXAMINE YOUR DELIVERY PERSON! If you can, take a photo of the delivery person and in case it's a postal inspector, upload photo and name to whosarat.com under agent profiles...

ALWAYS be prepared to just walk away from a deal if it's not sitting right with you. Try to know your letter carrier...

Also, "letter mail" ie letters under 1oz and that are not otherwise classified, do NOT require customs declarations or signature of receipt. Thus, you are much better off paying for multiple shipments of "letter mail" to keep a low profile rather than dealing with the risks of parcel mail.

Ok?

SHIT MAN JUST RELAX....first of all.  Yes all mail is SLOW right now....super duper slow in fact.   I just got a US Domestic order today (wed) that shipped last Monday.  Normally I should have had that package last Thursday but almost had to wait another week.  Nucleo know what he's doing....I would predict your package arrives this week sometime but it may take as long as early next week....remember NO MAIL next Monday too(January 2nd)  And yeah you can't count on international tracking to be totally current that's for sure.  Good Luck and be careful with that Nucleo stuff....it's very very very STRONG. :-)

Heh! I'd be VERY impressed if that much effort was put forth for such a small amount (smallest amount this vendor will ship)

Thank you for the info though tox!

squirrel, thx!

And Jackstraw - Your post was EXACTLY what I needed! Thanks man!

Vendor stated it would take 8-12 days, and it hasn't even been 8. ;) I guess I should chill the hell out for at least 3-4 days...... I'm less concerned about being busted, more about losing the money ;)

Heh, I bet that's calmed down him a bit ;-) *sarcasm mode*

OK I'll tell you a little story of how I was busted in here in UK many years ago buying something from overseas online I shouldn't have (not on SR).

The delivery was taking an unusually long time, like maybe 3 or more weeks passed and the vendor said he sent ages ago.. normally Airmail is about 7-10 days. So I figured it got lost, no big deal. So I ordered again.

Then 7am one morning I get a postman-style knock on the door...tap tap tap. I opens the door half asleep expecting postie to have my goods and ask me to sign, and instead I see a plain clothed person with a briefcase holding my package under his arm with a clipboard. Odd.

Then another one appears from around the corner.. The one with briefcase says my name, inviting me to confirm it...(which I foolishly did). I start to get a very bad feeling, and then sure enough out comes the ID card... "HM Customs & Excise". I'm not cautioned or anything, but they ask to speak to me inside about the package for a "little chat". I foolishly invite them in and admit its my package, then immediately I'm cautioned. After a lengthy interview and statement taken, they go away and tell me they will be in touch if they decide to prosecute. I was lucky(!) it was Customs and not the cops. They told me they would be prosecuting me but that they had the power to settle for a fixed penalty out of court if I wanted to accept guilt. Naturally I decided to settle for a fixed penalty fine to avoid going to court and risking prison. I even haggled with them over the fine (£500 they wanted) and got it halved..

When you're in that situation you can't think quickly or straight. If you have never faced it before you will have no clue what to do. If I faced that situation again now I'd be fully prepared.

Even if a package has your name on it, they can't prove anything unless you admit to it. That is their sole aim when they visit. An admission of guilt, of committing a crime. If you say I didn't order it, I don't know anything about it or what you're talking about..the burden is then on them to prove you ordered it. Providing you have covered your tracks well, that will not be easy.  Also, you don't even have to speak to them, or let them in and you should never do that unless they have a warrant from the court.

IDk what it's like in the UK or wherever, but in the USA, they don't need shit but circumstantial evidence to convict 100% at trial. Doesn't matter what you say, think or do.

The feds here have a 98% conviction rate and your story sounds like a fairy tale of overt LE fantasy. They don't do that shit here. They are as sneaky as possible and they throw decades of time at you like it's some kind of joke. This is nothing to take lightly just because we're all on some kind of half assed secure drug exchange forum where it doesn't seem real. Reality is a motherfucker. Don't even hesitate to walk away from a delayed packaged. I thought mine was held up due to the holidays also and guess what? I paid with 4 years of my life.

You shouldn't assume you can fight it if they come knocking. You're already fucked if they're at your door.  The best you can do is clean up before hand and try to mitigate the damage by following protocol, denying to sign & receive and just know, you've already made the hotlist....

Probably nothing as you say, just seasonal delay..very common this time of year.. I run a business and packages every year sent around xmas get delayed by 2 weeks or more..it's ridiculous but it happens every year..probably short staffed and heavier loads of mail to process.

My advice to you though if you are worried its been intercepted is to keep your eyes peeled and lay low when anyone knocks..check before your answer..if something looks not right, don't answer. i.e. if someone who is not your regular postman or not wearing a uniform calls.

That's terrible, I've heard similar things though at US your laws on drugs are VERY strict I heard. Even importing prescription meds for personal use (unlicensed) is a felony in many States. In comparison, in UK you can import *any unscheduled* prescription drugs licensed or unlicensed, up to 90 days supply for personal use without a prescription, perfectly legally. Over here, we have very strict laws preventing entrapment and restricting what is admissible evidence in court, so cops have to be very careful how they secure evidence..

;)

I stopped reading!

Basically I wanted to hear from people who'd ordered from nucleo - which is only one (as far as I can tell)

no one will be knocking on my door, as here - international mail has to be picked up at the post office.

in and out, that's how it'll go down.

;)

I'm short .55 bitcoin for an order I wanted to make tomorrow morning.

Anyone mind lending me some? I'll repay 1 bitcoin within 48 hours.
