Title: How NSA may have compromised Tor Bundle
Post by: Ann Onymous on September 11, 2013, 07:41 pm
I used to have a tormail address, my PC might have been compromised when I checked as it was unavailable (don't care, they can keep it, never kept state secrets in it).

Since: Newly installed Tor Bundle on the USB not working properly from the PC but working fine from cyber stations in the city?!

When using Tor on PC to get to onion, only work as "run as client only", when trying to install relay within Tor, it stops functioning, with the following warning messages:

Warning Could not bind to 0.0.0.0.0:443: Address already in use [WSAEADDRINUSE]. Is Tor already running?
Notice Closing partially-constructed Directory listener on 0.0.0.0:9030
Warning Controller gave us config lines that didn't validate. Failed to bind one of the listener ports.
Vidalia Settings:
Sharing
Relay traffic inside the Tor network (non-exit relay)
Board stating:
Error Applying Settings
Vidalia was unable to apply your Server settings to Tor.
Unable to set option: Failed to bind one of the listener ports.

Not being able to set up a relay inside Tor (mingling with the crowd) makes it easier for adversaries to sniff packages of data and identify what sites are being visited on the .onion, and by whom.

How are your bundles functioning?

Dont worry, just go to settings and change 0.0.0.0 to 127.0.0.1 and it will work.

NSA used 'cookie stealing' attack and its only viable if you where using TOR on your normal, every day use browser. They could not install or change any setting on your pc..

If you where using TOR on your normal browser you should be worried that personal information leaked. Like face book or google username, search terms and so on..

What do you mean using TOR on your regular browser?

TOR opens up in firefox for me, and my default browser is firefox - but I don't access any clearnet sites like facebook, email from TOR, only from my regular firefox. That's ok right?
