Title: wheres all the stolen shit?
Post by: PsilocybinTendencies on June 04, 2012, 02:07 am
I want to buy hot shit for cheap. Clothes, a new computer (I see one finally listed, that's what prompted this post), practical stuff that I need. Anything id need from walmart.

I figured there would be more of a market for stolen goods.

I was wondering this as well....Has SR tried to split itself from selling stolen item, like it did with counterfeit money?

If only there was a Silk Road for all other items out there. I know we have the UMB (Utter tripe and scams) and Bidcoin (yet to get off the ground) but we need one akin to SR!

Fuck UMB, that place is a den of sin. I've seen people offering to sell kids and CP on that place and all sorts of shit like that. It's a dark grotto indeed, best to stay well away from it.

I agree for 99.9%  of it. So man people claiming they need to unload "some keys of skag" or coke...But they have a MOQ of half a kilo and type like a ten year old.
However, I have had two positive encounters on the UMB. One being for adderal (whos price is simply disgusting on SR) and counterfeit sterling. If they could change the format of UMB to make it more stable, ie vendors site and fourm with regular vendors, then it could be a pretty good place to put everything that dosn't belong on SR

I think for me the fact that there is people requesting to buy children is what bothers me the most, not the scammers. Even though this is all illegal there has to be some morals and limits, if the owner of UMB is willing to allow that shit then to be frank that speaks volumes about them. That is why I like SR because DPR and the admins see and observe the need for these limits and I don't mean just on CP but things like buying stolen identities and things like this.

Oh yea sorry I overlooked that in your first reply. I have seen some things asked for/offered that make me sick to my stomach, but I can never imagine that these kind of deals actually happen. I think its just me being naive.
But it does bring up an interesting question about where shall we draw the line? No-one is saying CP of trafficking is morally acceptable, but when it comes to counterfeit money, stolen goods, identity's and hard drugs for me things get a little blurred.

Yeah I mean I seriously doubt that those kind of transactions actually come to fruition however for me it's the fact that it's allowed to be there at all which means that however unlikely it still COULD happen and that UMB is essentially facilitating a platform where that COULD take place. As for the other things my personal standpoints are as follows

Hard drugs - I wouldn't ever take them or sell them personally but I don't care that they are sold. Everyone knows what happens when you take things like Smack/Crack/Meth/Opiates/Other highly addictive shit on a regular basis, you become a junky. If you want to do that then that's up to you. I think it's slightly annoying when you see people that sell those drugs saying things like "If I had a choice again I would have never taken Smack blah blah" because if they feel that way then it strikes me as slightly amoral that you are selling something you know can fuck up your life. As I said though this is just my own path of logic, others may feel differently and that's fair enough.

Identities - I used to be quite into carding and I don't mind that per se but I wouldn't venture back into it myself. Identities however I would not do because you can really fuck up someones life with that shit.

Counterfeit Money - No issue with this personally. I can get bent 20s and 50s in euros and sterling and I did want to sell them here but then I found out you couldn't so I parred that idea off. Doesn't bother me that DPR doesn't allow that stuff because at the end of the day this is his place and he can set his own rules. I have more time for people that set guidelines even if I don't agree with them myself, shows a bit of metal in an individual.

Stolen Goods - Have no issue with this at all and so far as I'm aware neither does SR policy (unless I missed something). If you put up a tv on here or anything you wouldn't be able to tell it was stolen anyway so there is little point trying to ban something that you can't stop anyway. If you think about those on here that "Socially Engineer" (I consider this as a twat-term for fraud) or that guy who is selling bent coupons IMO the difference between theft and fraud is essentially trying to split a pube down the middle.

Like I said this is just my stance on certain things. It would be a boring world if everyone agreed. :)

Its just so difficult. Believe  me, being a drug user I feel people need to live and let live, but I have seen what certain substances have done to people. They have torn them apart leaving little more than a shell. Its even more tragic when its the kids that suffer and it makes my blood boil thinking about the people pushing these drugs. But then again does this make me a hypocrite for passing along some E's when it may tempt them to take other stuff? Tricky stuff...
Yea I don't think SR has a specific problem with stolen goods, its just I don't see many posted so I was unsure. One thing you can say for sure that the deepweb is straight free market, adam smith stuff man (although I doubt that this is what he had in mind).

Given the mind-numbing prices of Alienware laptops (and the quality of dell warranties/replacement services) I'd say it's someone's moral duty to steal them (under a year old and no harm to the previous owner save a little lost data), list them on here and, most importantly, sell me one at a rational price!  (17inch 3dscreen, i7 and top nvidia pls)

Why don't you set up an account on BMR mate? lots of people there would buy the notes. I travel a lot so I would be very interested in the euros :)

I was on BMR at one point but I just got tired of the site never working for me so I parred it off.

Yeah it's a shitty site and ran poorly. I've only made a few purchases there personally. Well if you change your mind and retry it, hit me up with a pm please :) Will really enjoy passing off some fake 50 euro notes on the lucky lucky men :D
