Hi all,
I figure I open a new thread to a pretty specific question which I cant find the answer to in the available guides of the security forum.
I am running Win7 SP1 as main OS on my computer. I am accessing anything on the deep web via a Linux install on Virtualbox which runs on a truecrypt partition. I was wondering what i should tell the VM to use as Internet connection settings. Right now it is just using the usual internet adapter settings from Win7, giving it the same IP address. I was wondering if I can let it run via a proxy server. Turns out I can enter the TOR settings in the VM which should make it use my Vidalia from Win7 to connect to the Internet. That is not the case though. It seems to ignore those settings and still gives me the same IP that makes me identifiable (in the case that I dont use TOR on my Linux partition).
Are those the right settings, or can I disguise my connections coming from Linux (that are not routed via the TOR network) even more in the first place? Also in regard to when I use the TOR Browser Bundle for Linux to access SR, are those the most efficient settings?
Any help is much appreciated..
Thanks in advance.
