Title: Does our BTC value stay the same once we send an order to a vender???
Post by: ectasynow on April 17, 2013, 03:56 am
I sent a payment from my SR wallet yesterday and the value of BTC today is much lower. Is my BTC value the same toady when the vender looks at my order? In other words. am I good?

Yes, you are fine. Depending on whether or not the order was hedged, the vendor might not be getting the full dollar value out of his BTC, but you still paid the correct amount of BTC, so you are fine.

The vendor takes the hit in that case, but they also make money like that some times so HOpefully it evens out for them in the end. Also  You can check at the right hand side of the shopping cart there is a row that says hedged. If the item is hedged then the dollar amount is locked, which is good if there is a drop but you also don't have it go up if order is canceled after a rise in coins. I believe that silk road charges a hedgeing fee but not sure how it works
