We know. Tony is gone. Maybe he scammed, maybe he was busted, maybe he's injured or dead, maybe he's just on vacation. All I know is that this forum, the Rumor Mill specifically, is getting torn apart by the constant threads and name calling and paranoia and it just needs to end now. Whatever happens happens. Trying to call out vendors for being Tony, or blaming DPR, or trying to change the entire Silk Road system, none of that is going to get you what you're really after, which is whatever it is that Tony owes you. It's done now. I think a lot of people here learned a valuable lesson about trust and risks and finalizing early. But the ALL CAPS LOCK THREADS and that kind of bullshit needs to go away now. There are way too many bad vibes going around this forum. So let's chill out and accept that we almost certainly lost whatever it is we ordered from Tony. Let's let the forum be at peace once more. One thread for the Tony stuff should be enough; we don't need five with similar bullshit happening in each one. Keep it to the one main Tony thread, don't start anything new, and realize that in the end whatever you're losing is nothing compared to the deals you're still bound to get from the rest of the wonderful vendors here on the Silk Road. DPR did a great thing making that whole 420 sale for us, and now we're all ruining that with the constant whining and speculation. It's done. Let it go. Go buy something from a vendor that you know won't let you down. Give it a couple days and you won't even be upset anymore. Time to let the forum return to normalcy...

True man, true. I ordered from Tony and never recieved but I'm really tired of a thousand threads, basically just the same points being argued over and over again about did he scam, did he get arrested.

Weren't you the one who said you were going to be murdered if you didn't receive from tony? I'd think I would be worried.
Someone on the site pulled through for me and completely saved my ass. Now I'm pretty calm about this whole thing. I mean I'm losing some money, but that's life sometimes, you get screwed because you made a dumb mistake and trusted the wrong guy, or else chance just kicks you in the nuts one day. Can you imagine if Tony was in some car accident or something? Just driving to the grocery store and boom, dead on impact, know one even knows the operation he's running. Something definitely happened here, and the point is there's no use dwelling on it any longer. I decided personally that I'd give him until the end of Monday. Well Monday's done. Time to leave it all behind now. You cut your losses and move forward having learned something from the mistakes you made. That's life. I can't imagine a scam of this magnitude will ever be pulled again because this is going to be fresh in everyone's mind for a long time. We just don't need to keep dragging it back into the forum.

You can ask for people to stop, but I don't think it will matter. Everyone's circumstance and tolerance for loss is different. So we'll just have to bear with the negative energy for a while. And I believe this is the biggest upsets in SR history. So we really can't expect people to just let it go so easily and move on.
And not for nothing, but hopefully this will put the breaks on people finalizing early. It's the principle method of loss here. I decided from my very first order to stay in escrow and only deal with vendors who appreciate the escrow system. And for the first time in over 50 transactions, I have an issue for which I'm glad I stayed in escrow. Vendor name is BrainDamaged. He skipped out in much the same way Tony did. I notified SR support and they suspended his account. Hopefully there's something left, unless he auto-withdrew, for those that FE'd.
So when you think about it, no policy here needs to be change. It's the mode of thinking and trusting that needs to be changed. This is an anonymous black market. Why would anyone, under any circumstance, go outside of escrow? It defies logic. But we humans are a trusting bunch. And we want to trust people. Worse, things sold here are far too enticing so people let their guard down and take unnecessary risks.
BY never finalizing early, you are not disrespecting your vendor or saying I don't trust you. You're saying that I trust the system in case something unfortunate should happen to you. I don't know you, I don't know anyone who knows you, so I would be completely in the dark if something happens to you. By using escrow, I reduce the stress I might incur in the event something happens to you and I have no way of contacting you.

Well said DevineChemicals
It's unfortunate it had to come to this, but let this be a wake up call to SR. Sometimes it takes something as damaging as this for peoples perspective to change.

If DPR would just weigh in, he could answer it for everyone. All he has to do is check and see if Tony has cashed out his account, or if it's still loaded with coin. If its cashed out, and DPR can see how he cleaned it out (i.e. moved coins after each transaction over the sale) it would tell us everything.

This wont stop them, but it's a valid point.

"Stop the bullshit".... Says the OP that apparently got some kind of sweetheart deal from some gullible seller because he said he was going to be killed for losing $200. AND complained on every thread incessantly for days. Some people are still out alot of money and are holding nothing but their dick because of this fiasco.
-
at least we weren't robbed of our money at gunpoint and were still not in jail!

Sweetheart deal from a gullible seller? I'm not gaining any money here, I'm still losing the $250, the only difference is that now I'm getting a product to give to the guy in advance. And you're right, I was part of the problem too. We all complained for a while, now I'm saying that it's time to stop. I know that people are missing money. But constantly complaining about it, that's not fixing the problem. SR and the forums can't do anything about it now. Be happy that all you lost was money. You're not going to prison, you didn't get hurt, and this is probably the last time you'll this happen to you.

Wishful thinking! Its just one more brick in the wall. lack of trusted seller's............I never trusted tony76 or bought from him? I remember talk of him being LE a long while back and never looked at his listings after that. I'm not sure who the guy is? but it doesn't help those who lost BTC saying at least your not dead or in jail? BTCs hard to come by! And i wouldn't want the name Anthony76 right now?

I get your point, and it is getting a bit old. But I have to say that many of us who lost lots of money, feel that there were way too many *vocal* supporters of Tony, and that those of us who said, 'hey, my package didn't arrive,' were basically shouted down. And now that we're appearing to be a bit vindicated in our worries, people want us to quiet down? It's 'quieting down' that got us in this mess in the first place. Maybe if just *one* person had said, "hey Tony hasn't been around that long, maybe we *shouldn't* all be finalizing early."
But people allowed him to dictate the terms of the arrangement totally. If you weren't a supporter you were accused of being a scammer yourself, and Tony set that up neatly too, giving vivid descriptions of people trying to scam him....
So yeah, maybe there's a bit of gloating and stomping on his grave...but we lost money, and we're letting off some steam. And hey, maybe it'll let the newbies know that if everybody says a vendor is a saint, and needs to be 'left alone' -- then don't buy from that vendor.
I suggest everybody go back and read the Tony76 thread. And see just how often people felt compelled to put one or two paragraphs telling Tony how wonderful he was, before they felt they could say a fucking thing...it's embarassing to read.
Those people, in spite of all the signs, still want to let him off the hook, thereby settting up his glorious return. Until that crap stops, you'll keep hearing from us. Is it dividing the forums? Yep, sure is. Oh well...
