Pardon if this question has been answered before. Search returned nothing definitive. I need to know the bottom-line, real-world consequences if my 1/8 or 1/4 of cannabis is intercepted by USPS. Nothing international here. I'm buying only from US sellers. What's the worst that can happen to me? Felony charges? I'm under the impression that such small amounts of weed are simply confiscated and no further problems. I have medical needs but also a family to support.
Thank you.

At most, a controlled delivery. Which can be easily handled by saying "I don't know this sender, this isn't my package".
NEVER SIGN FOR A PACKAGE, unless your vendor specifically states that you will be required to sign for delivery (I'm specifically thinking XpressPost from Canada, mrouid).
Other than that, domestic packages will hardly ever be intercepted. If you buy from one of the top cannabis vendors, then you can rest assured that you will receive your package. If you are unlucky and it does happen, you just will not receive your order. No other action will be taken (In most cases, that is. If you had 2 lbs of weed shipped to your house and it was intercepted, that is a different story).
Chill out, and just be smart about it. Do research on your vendor on both their SR page and the forum and you will end up a happy man.

Thank you for putting my fears to rest. And I appreciate the advice about not signing for packages.

Thats not much weed at all bro..........hell in some cities police would just take such a small amount and not even charge a person as long as the person was respectful and didnt piss off the cops. The best way is to order from within your own country and order from a seller that knows how to package properly. Now if you do get caught you need to remember to deny everything no matter what the police say.

worst case scenario, if you get caught you are looking at felony charges.
however, your chances of getting caught are extremely slim. The USPS is much too inefficient, and their mail is legally protected in a way that UPS, FEDEX, etc. is not. if the vendor has the slightest idea what they are doing, you will be fine.
think about it - it takes a LOT of time, money, and manpower to setup a controlled deliivery, make an arrest, prosecute, etc. Investing those resources into a 1/4 of weed is simply not worth it. Unless you just put drugs in their lap, authorities are really looking for the distributors - people who send and receive distribution levels of drugs. for weed i would imagine that's probably somewhere over an ounce or two.
i feel like i should expand a bit on the "putting drugs in their lap" part - good examples of this are not sending via USPS, very poor packaging, checking a DCN while using tor, suddenly getting a lot of international packages from the same place, etc.

If you deny it to the end and they cant come up with additional proof then you wont get convicted. Anyone can send a package of drugs to anyone else. LE has to prove that you intentionally had illegal stuff sent to you.
