Title: Recieving Cigarettes In the Mail?
Post by: sickboy on May 21, 2012, 03:58 am
I was thinking about buying some cigarettes on SR. I was just wondering, for my own sake, is this entirely legal? I live in the US and tobacco is not illegal, but. I dont know. There are funny laws.

Well in my country you would have to pay the ridiculous tobacco taxes on it, although you have already paid the tax in the originating country. However it is still complitely legal of course. I really hate the fucking customs, man.

Technically, you are avoiding the licensing fees set in place to provide the gov't with tax dollars but you are not committing a "crime" that would cause anybody to come search for you.

If you are ordering ten cartons and the box opens up, they may wonder but think of this,  they are not cops and are not going to go "Oh no cigarettes! I wonder if they have license". They will be thinking, "Cigarettes oh gotta be careful" or "Cigarettes! Man I need a pack."

And if you are ordering 10 boxes of cartons (cartons of cartons lol) then that's just silly. I can understand the reason to do it but selling that quantity, unless only to family out in the country, is asking for LE to come asking about licenses, origin of product and if you can prove that you follow the law in terms of limiting sales to people of above the age of 18.

Just get them used as packaging around your 3kg of heroin. I am sure customs wont worry at all about the ciggies!

If customs do find them, at least where I am from they will forward you a bill for the extra taxes that need to be paid.  If you are talking about vendor only on here aka cigs.eu they allow you to refuse the shipment and it gets sent back to them and they will refund the purchase price IF customs do find it

Exactly. It is not illegal to import personal amounts, but it goes into being illegal when you dont pay the taxes.

Really though, I'm sure if they were sent as a gift, and it was a small amount, and customs did happen to find them - you will still probably get them.

We have an almost-perfect successful delivery rate to the US, so please feel free :)

It depends on your country: the UK Border Agency seizes even one pack, while the American customs office doesn't care.
