Title: Bitcoin Weirdness
Post by: tcobambientAgain on November 17, 2011, 06:57 pm
OK.  Not sure what's going on?  I went to Wells Fargo yesterday and did a cash purchase with GetBitCoin.  The email came through last night at 2am that I should be receiving my bitcoins in the next few hours.  It's 12 hours later and still no coins (8 connections and hundreds of thousands of blocks 0 transactions).  Not sure what all that stuff at the bottom means but I guess it means things are working.  The weird part is that I never set a passphrase on my wallet and I go to settings and it says "Change Wallet Encryption Passphrase".  I forgot my passphrase on my old wallet and just set up a new wallet on a Virtual PC on my computer.

1. Has it ever taken this long for anyone to get their coins from GetBitCoin

2. Why would a passphrase be set on a brand new wallet?

There are no transactions on my wallet so it's not like the coins came in and someone took them.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Check if the block chain is 153733 or greater. It might just be that you haven't downloaded the entire chain yet.
