Title: Heat Seal Packaging - Military Grade
Post by: PlutoPete on September 06, 2012, 12:44 pm
Hi Guys :)
I've had many inquiries for foil packaging since HappyHippy stopped selling his food bags, and I think I've hit the jackpot :)

I've managed to source a roll of military grade heat seal foil laminate :)
This stuff is higher grade than the food bags usually available, 5 ply, but still as thin and easy to use.

Ideal for use as packaging in export, transport, conservation and storage this material offers outstanding barrier properties with a tough but flexible '5 layer' construction. Meets current EU, BIR and FDA guidelines as well as military defence standard DIN55.
Constructed of micron 12чm PET, 12чm PE, 7чm Alu, 20чm PE, 60чm HDPE.

Easily sealable with a standard iron at 180C 2-3 seconds

I've been trying it out all morning and it performs excellently :)

even if they were big a pillow cases wouldn't it be easy to just cut to whateve size you need and then heat seal on all open sides?

This is straight off the roll, you can easily make up any size pouch you like :)
one square metre is bigger than any bag on the market, but you can easily seal them to make any size, I'm thinking of making a growtent with it :)

Now there's an idea ^^^ that I like. Have you seen where people are making grow boxes out of desktop computer boxes? Those are really neat as well but it's a very small grow scale but it's stealthy as hell. It looks like a computer with led lights and fans and on the inside they are using those fluorescent bulbs with a regular 110 extension cords and fixing the wiring harness to look like a regular computer.
