Title: The Truth!
Post by: SealTeam6 on June 10, 2013, 03:59 pm
I have been experimenting with a high dose of the truth lately and I have discovered some interesting things about it.  I think we all know the saying, "The truth shall set you free".  This really is the truth, I have seen it done in my own life.  The problem for me is that I am addicted to a certain site by the name of Silk Road.  This takes away some of the ability to tell the truth all the time.  I do think I have figured out a way to rectify this, and that once again is love.  I think if a lie/secret is done with love as its overall intention then it will negate the lie.  My significant other things differently about this subject, but that's how I know that I am right, lol.

What do you all think about the truth?  Is it freeing?

OMG, I can't believe I just found this. I just had a mini melt down on one of your other threads and as the thoughts came screaming in my head I realized that this was not the proper thread for this. Now, as my brain wears to near nothing I find the one that I was looking for from the beginning. I sure the reason is far beyond my comprehension, that is me finding this now rather than earlier.  So I probably saved myself a great deal of shame, and personal info that would have caused me concern.

Let me think about this for a few days and come back.  But yea, truth is some powerful stuff.  Hell all these threads are!  Whatcha doin ST6?  Introspection for the masses on The Road?  Cool!  ;)

Well, it's been a bit more than a few days and I still don't have the over whelming urge to be completely truthful.  I could be mostly truthful but nobody would give a rat's ass and that's fine (no it's not).

The Truth! :o   This will take a few more days.

I'm gonna head over to the dark side and see if they still have room for me there.  :(

Of course they do.  Hell they even talk to me there.   ;)

Thanks ST6...

Truth is what we believe. I believe I make mistakes.

What do you mean?

The deeper one looks for the truth, the less they find. In the end, we believe what suits our lives--what we believe. One must abandon their ego for truth to become significant.

So there is truth after all, after the death of the ego?

Ok I am ready to give up some truth...

The truth is I am fucking angry, filled with hate and I'm lost in this fucking world.   I got it for you ST6 "why?" you ask.  I am not ready to give the truth now, so I will say ' I don't know why' but it sucks to feel this way and too feel like there is nothing that can help.

But, on the subject of truth and belief I understand this now, unlike when I first read it. :o   So, if you believe what you have perceived it becomes a belief.  Yep, that's captain obvious, but that's how simple I am.  "Truth is what we believe" as according to what we perceive?  Great, then there is a chance that your perception can be changed.  Wait, what?  That means we can change the truth. So does this mean then that there is no real truth, or is it just the truth of the moment, conveince or just a means to the end for someone that is unyielding with their BELIEFS(truth)?

Damn it, I'm still angry.  Guess I should make piece with it as it may be here a while... :o

Mr 6, you have this ability to ask some of the most loaded questions. What cha doin reading, writing or both?  How about that truth? Come on give it up. ;)   Doesn't matter to me 'why' you post these. I enjoy reading and participating in them, so keep it up. Please! :)

Very well put.

Quote
The answer is out there, Neo, and it's looking for you, and it will find you if you want it to.
~Trinity - The Matrix

All of us are looking for something, but what? For every person it's going to be different. Some want love, or money, or to enjoy themselves as much as possible. Which one's right and which one's the true reality and right one we should all strive for. I don't think there will ever be one answer for that.

Quote
Your mind makes it real
~Morpheus - The Matrix

One of my favorite quotes. It's amazing how our minds work. I think to find out the truth you need to first conquer your mind and learn when it's trying to trick you cause it will if given the chance. On the other side your mind can be a powerful force that can be used to change the course of humanity or the current flow of history onto a different and more rewarding life for everyone.

Quote
The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.
~Morpheus - The Matrix

I especially like this quote because you can replace the word 'The Matrix' and replace it with 'The Government' and it still applies.

And finally the most relevant quote regarding this topic:

Quote
The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
~Morpheus - The Matrix

This quote is especially profound as it will have a different meaning for everyone but I think it infers that they're are some basic truths in this world. For example the US is not really a democracy but an secretly oppressive government. However that's still not a universal truth cause if you were to ask say John Mccain he's probably get his hunting rifle and shoot you.

It astounds me when I watch movies from over 10 years ago how it can be applied to our current time in history. How it's still relevant and the writers and directors almost had a sixth sense on what path we were heading down.

Heavy stuff, that truth!  Is truth just a belief?

I don't think so, I think there must be absolute truth.  Something has to be true, or else everything is false.  There must be balance IMO.  There must be a truth, a false, and a multitude of answers in between the two.

What am I doing?  I'm just living.  I read. I write and I try and stay in the light!

The questions I ask are loaded, I suppose, because of the multitude of answers possible.

I post because I like to communicate, it's one of the ways I stay alive.

We are like minds on the subject of the truth, I believe.  I use the matrix myself when explaining life and the truth to people.  It's uncanny how a supposed fictional movie can come so close to real life.  Life indeed is a system, and the truth is lying there right in front of our eyes.  Most don't see it, or care to see, they are not ready to be "unplugged".  The system continues to survive this way.

Creators of stories like "The Matix" IMO are visionaries who see reality and the future for what it really is.  I love old movies and when I watch them I see how brilliant the human creative mind is.  The creativity of the human mind is like a time machine to me, hindsight is 2020 and looking back I see this "truth".

Hey ST6, what you are writing makes perfect sense this evening.  Jeeze, looking back at last night sure seems strange now.  :o  I think I like it though. ;)  Anger being repressed... :)

Thanks for the seemingly honest answers you gave.  I mean that.  It makes sense too me.

I am still having difficulty just throwing truths out there, but maybe someday I can free my soul.

Yea this whole Matrix thing is totally blowing me away.  The things to be learned here never cease to amaze me, but seriously ya'll are just to damn smart for me.

Thanks, as always, enjoyed it... :)

If asked i will answer. ;)

Southpaw, I find release feels just as good as repression does, if not better.

It's never too late to save a soul!

Just keep living!
