Title: "maxxvendor", anybody else been cheated? 2nd try at silk road
Post by: Phil198022 on February 25, 2012, 03:35 pm
Hello,

I was just wondering if about a year ago anyone else tried purchasing produce from a guy calling himself "maxxvendor"? I ordered 1 g of Meth from the guy back then, paid 170 bitcoins (at the time 1 bitcoin was about 1 USD) and then never received any product. Since I never received a visit from customs or law enforcement either I assume the person just took the money and never sent anything.

Now I'll probably give Silkroad a 2nd try after having been mostly disappointed with legal/semi-legal stimulants (Methylone/Mephedrone/4-FA etc.). Hope this time isn't the same disappointment of paying a decent sum of money first and then never hearing from the vendor again.

Did you attempt to take advantage of the escrow system?

do your research on the vendor. Choose wisely based on that.  You should have no problems avoiding scammers imo. If possible, stay in escrow.

At the time I think he was the only person selling meth on this website, so I chose him, he was also easy to find via google along with mixed reviews, so somewhere along the line I assume the person did really send out stuff. I sent several e-mails to what I presumed to be his e-mail address without any response.

Could you please explain briefly what you mean by "escrow"? My native language is not English.

The escrow system is basically the middle man in Silk Road. When you purchase something your money leaves your account and goes to the escrow system. from thier it stays there until you hit the finalize button which sends it to the senders account.

Ok, I think that didn't exist back then, I remember the silk road was very new (the website went down shortly afterwards for several months, so I couldn't contact them either), I sent the bitcoins to the vendor directly at the time. First paid regular state issued money via Western Union to buy bitcoins online (that worked ok), then sent 170 bitcoins (at the time about 150 USD) to said vendor without any response from him, nor any product received or sign that anything was ever sent out to me nor explanation. Several e-mails went unanswered as well, as far as I remember.
