Title: Can I 'pay' up front?
Post by: randy anders on May 26, 2012, 08:17 am
Hi guys,

I'm new here so please excuse the noobish questions

Since I havn't made any orders yet, I assume sellers will be very sceptical of me, thinking I might be a scammer who wont pay up/say my order never arrived etc

Well I've found a few very reputable sellers that I would be comfortable paying up front with, is this possible? Or does every order have to go through the escrow system?

Thanks

Might I remind you that reputable doesn't mean jack squat anymore? ::) Besides the escrow system is set up for your own protection...why would you purposelessly try to go around it?

Can I ask why that is?

Also, some sellers will ask you to finalize early, which is where you release the funds from escrow before they actually send the product, then upon receiving the payment will send you the goods... I've done this a few times now and not been scammed but don't think I will again in future; it's too easy for sellers to scam like this...

Just because we've seen just how easily a vendor can just pack up and leave, despite how successful they may be. All I'm saying is don't assume it's okay to finalize early just because a well known vendor asks you too. ;)

As you haven't bought anything yet then most vendors will require you to Finalize before sending the order, this is basically the same as paying up front.
