Title: yourMainMan Feedback?
Post by: sww on December 17, 2011, 08:22 pm
I'm interested to hear any feedback on this new vendor? /index.php/silkroad/user/7162

There's been 21 transactions so far, though they were all finalized early, as far as I can tell.

He's UK based which is good and I like the look of his menu :)

Cheers,

I got his K sample, the .5g. Good gear, definitely legit. I wanted his lemon haze but he'd run out so I can't vouch for his bud.

I just ordered .5g of his mdma, but it will probably be shipped tomorrow.  He seems like a good guy and I believe he has a bunch of feedback from his previous sales now, not just "finalized early".

Dont have a good feeling about this at all really. All his feedback that said the product actually arrived was form out of escrow feedback, he didnt actaully have any first hand pictures of his product? All of his listings are now gone. I have never ever known a letter to take a week Uk - UK, others are waiting on the same timescale.

Anyway like other said I hope he proves me wrong and comes through :)  I see he is closed for xmas never mind.

He took a shit load of last minute finalize earlys before he "shut up shop", my package never arrived today again so its looking bleak, it says he logged in today but hes no responding to any messages....

I thought this was a scam and that he could be Raver999.

If he is scamming, he has done exactly the same as Raver999 did - many of those early finalizes are probably done himself.

When I looked at the posts of one of the only people that says they're received from him (Scamtest), he had posted bashing someone who was scammed by Raver999... hmmm... another flag.

He was also very quick to offer me a cheaper price, which I'm glad I didn't accept.

I hope I am very wrong and one day owe the guy an apology.

Wind your neck in sww.  I'm in the UK and will give any new UK vendor a go (for a small amount) cos I'm sick of shit having to go through customs. Yourmainman didn't scam me, simple as.  Whether he's scamming now, I don't know and don't care. I mean, 350$ out of escrow? Are you fucking mental? At least you, sww, heard alarm bells when you were offered a cheaper price (whether you're right or not).
I risked a small amount on a sample, but hundreds of dollars to a new vendor and OOE as well! Did he offer you a cheap price Calibuds? Did greed get the better of your common sense?
Scamming will be drastically reduced when idiots stop allowing themselves to be scammed.
BTW I looked at the "bashing' post I made, the guy was a prick and at the time raver999 hadn't been outed as a scammer.

Sww, it's not unknown for scammers to 'seed' their accounts with a few sales they actually complete. Insinuations are pathetic and pointless, you don't even KNOW that this guy is scamming yet you're quite happy to 'suggest' I'm something to do with it.  You're way out of order .

scamtest - maybe I was quick to suggest you could be something to do with it.

Your post was just one flag that I used to decide that I shouldn't risk it with this guy. I remember thinking this looks a bit like Raver999, then I looked back at your posts a second later and there were your comments defending him.

I didn't look at the date of the posts; this was a mistake, but to see you posting positive things about both vendors seemed suspicious. I admit this could mean nothing, but thought it worth pointing out at the time.

My aim was to stop other people from getting scammed, that's all. I'm sorry if I incorrectly accused you of something that isn't true.

Sorry to say it guys but obvious scam is obvious, weve all been done over and some guys ran away with probally about $2000 worth, not bad for 10 days of sitting at a computer screen really is it. Something needs to be done about finalizing early, how about this I pay for my fucking product then it gets here, too easy for scammers and selective scammers.

He had the cheapst drugs of each product on the whole of silk road, all of his images were not his they were pulled from the internet, "FINALIZE EARLY BEFORE CHRISTMAS YOU NEED TO", of the 6 messages that said it arrived were from his 0.00btc out of escrow listing. Did you see how many orders he took aswell? Little cunt. I hate being fucking scammed.

Can admins do something about it please? Sellers account for 6 months, started trading just before xmas for a total of 12 days of selling, perfect scam.

Was last seen today, probally withdrawing the rest of his money, hes read all my messages aswell. pissed off.

I ordered from aakoven after this order never arrived, he even walked me through how to pay on moneybookers, arrives 3 days later, most stealthy packaging ive ever seen, and good quality ket.

I'm pissed off too and think something definitely need to be done to prevent this happening again and again. it's too easy for anonymous scammers to exploit buyers at present and gain their trust and confidence. Everyone says never do OOE but then so many vendors are asking for it (good ones) that it's creating a messy marketplace..if its going to be allowed, it has to be under a different and strict selling format I think...i.e. a vendor can't take more than 1-2 sales on OOE at a one time, theres a monetary limit (small orders). His status should be changed or locked down to show he's OOE until buyer reports back. I don't even think OOE should be allowed period, except only for well established vendors perhaps.

I don't think it would be unreasonable to force new sellers to use escrow for a certain amount of time.

I don't know how this could be implemented, but it would be nice if escrow was the norm which it doesn't seem to be at the moment.

I also appear to have been stung by yourMainMan. Only a small order (.5g MDMA), but annoying nonetheless. This sort of thing is a setback for everything SR represents.

I would echo what others have said about escrow..it's the mainstay of SR and is the only real protection for buyers who at end of day are dealing with anonymous vendors. If OOE is going to be allowed, then surely restrictions need to be in place to not only protect buyers but also the reputation and security of the SR marketplace.

I think he has earnt a lot more than you guys think.. One of my friends finalised early on a single £800 payment. which is around 300 bitcoins for 50g's of K. He promised next day delivery for 23rd December.. Order still hasnt arrived..

My friend was quite new on here, and didnt fully understand the escrow system in place to protect him, so paid out of escrow after the seller said it was how it was done. But there definitely needs to be some safety features on users to stop getting scammed in future. Especially the newer users!!

I think it would be a good idea to maybe give sellers a seperate services and product seller account.. Its too easy for new sellers to offer a service such as bitcoin rates and get a lot of good feedback for very cheap then look like a reputable product seller.. So then people order actual physical amounts of product expecting it to be a trusted seller. They get scammed.

The number next to peoples names, the feedback, shouldnt be shown as 100.. when they have only completed say 2x 100% good transactions. The number shouldnt be shown til at least 10 feedback are left, that way the feedback would be a little more accurate (If it wasnt for everyone finalising early and leaving 100% good feedback). There should be just a tick box for finalised early.. and then the option to only feedback when the product is recieved unless it is a verified trusted seller (which should have a little icon or logo next to their name to show trusted sellers.

These are just a few thoughts, but I wanted to add to the conclusion that yourMainMan is a scammer also!

i see a new vendor appears with an old vendor account.  he's selling pretty cheap drugs in the UK, but wants early finalization for buyers with under 10 purchases.  i think this is policy is pretty reasonable, i do wonder why his prices are so cheap compared to the online market, but there may well be a legitimate reason for this.

i decide to watch this vendors feedback and see how things go.  i'm expecting to see orders trickle in from ppl with 10+ buys and good experience of the market so that this vendor can establish a reputation.  what actually happens is something quite different - many people just jump straight in and finalize early..

i'm sympathetic to anyone who has been tricked or stolen from on the site, but there are literally thousands of posts here with buying advice and vendor feedback, and i don't remember any of them saying "just finalize early with an unproven vendor and hope".  there is no need to stop reputable vendors from receiving payment in advance should their buyers be happy to do so, that would simply increase prices and reduce choice.

i have no idea if ymm is a scammer or not, but dozens of people did not need to send him money in advance to find out.  there are well established vendors with many pages of positive feedback on both the silk road site and here on the forums, should you need to finalize early to 'get on the road'.

caveat emptor !

edgarb makes a valid point and at present its a case of "buyer beware" and do your homework before rushing into out of escrow. For me, it's been an expensive lesson. I don't know how these asswipes sleep at night I really don't.  I'm just glad I didn't go overboard like some appear to and for those people it must be a painful lesson and I'm sorry for them.

Until the marketplace is made more secure there is no way in hell I will be buying from any new vendors on here. My trust is now zero. I will stick to buying from well established vendors with a solid reputation on the forum, if I even buy anything at all again. It's a just a pity that because of a lack of buyer safety a few bad apples like ymm can drag down the entire marketplace which ultimately will drive buyers and vendors away, resulting in higher prices and fewer wares available.

i orderded off this scumbag too- although i will never finalise in advance. to do anything else is foolish at  best. At least i will (or fucking better) get a refund via resolution centre.

sr should remove all seller accounts that insist on finalisation before sending an order. simple as.

resolution centre is the way to prevent buyer fraud- not to insist on payment for something you dont have and may never get. sorry sellers (i can see your point of view) but its the cost of doing bushiness and why prices on sr are higher than your local dealer.

how do they sleep at night?-  by laughing themselves to sleep at gullible folks giving him money for nothing.

im assuming that the people who say they sent several hundred to this guy out of escrow are new to this site and have learned lesson the hard way.

there are only a few sellers who have my full trust, and there are probally more selective scammers than outright ones like ymm.

sr admin- do something about this fucker or you risk then end of sr. folks will stop using site if you dont deal with these scumbags properly. for example i know another member who is a computer nerd. he reckons he could send a message on sr to ymm which would contain a hidden virus which would fuck up his pc. sounds like a good idea if its really possible.

shit..from past comms with him he sounded legit, we definitely need some sort of warning about out of escrow payments, maybe a SMALL terms and conditions box/warning when you signup to SR so newbies don't get caught out!

I got done too, but seriously guys don't get too wound up about it.

Don't say you didn't already have an intuition that he was scam. You were rolling the dice pure and simple. Before I discovered this site I routinely gambled by paying vendors in advance for drugs and this is the first time I have ever been scammed. The fact that we can do the majority of our transactions in escrow is amazing.

It was Christmas, many of us in the UK wanted to avoid the customs delays so we rolled the dice to get UK-UK. We knew he wasn't established. Yes his comms were good, smart guy. I am not pissed off, it's just the way of things -- he outsmarted us. Rather this than being physically mugged by a coke dealer meeting face to face. The only thing I feel uncomfortable about is that some random person has my address details. He is welcome to the money I am not even going to say a bad word about him. It was totally my fault for falling victim and I will not roll the dice in this way again because had I considered the possibility of some random untrustworthy person having my address details I would have rationally decided not to transact with him. It was the right place, right time for him. Those of us who used our real name and address should be grateful he isn't extorting more money from us now!

I do agree that the stats on SR could be improved. I think there should be a flag on the feedback to say that the item has arrived i.e. transaction actually completed and the (#) in the name should only reflect this feedback. I think that the onus of risk should be weighted towards the vendor when he/she is starting out on SR. This will naturally happen through evolution now because nobody will trust new vendors.

We rolled the dice, we failed.
