Title: Using TOR and Another Browser
Post by: CrunchWrappedCoke on August 19, 2013, 06:06 pm
I was just wondering if it's okay to use TOR while using a standard browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.). I'm just wondering because it's quicker to look up legal things on Firefox then searching it through TOR. I'm wondering for future reference.

Thanks!

I keep my chrome open while using tor. I don't think there is any risk...

I'm pretty sure it isn't safe, not sure on tech deets but I would never do this as you are opening another place for malware/intruders to well intrude.

I'm sure there is some more tech data on the subject

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll just play it safe and have Tor or a normal browser up and not both.

You could install Whonix into a virtual machine on your Windows desktop, then using Firefox (Windows) and Tor Browser (Whonix) at the same time is safe.
