The currency in which we operate is clearly being misrepresented by about ~9%

*and they're doing nothing to help us.

Just checked Gox and it says:

Last price:$104.44
High:$108.00
Low:$101.21
Volume:23838 BTC
Weighted Avg:$105.37

I'm sure the mid-month dive is coming soon. Prepare.

We cant be 100% how Silk Road comes up with BitCoin prices but I dont even check other exchangers. I just buy bitcoins using the SR current prices located at the bottom of the page and I sell them using Silk Roads current price. This method works perfectly fine for me. There is nothing we can do about the price of coin on Silk Road, its a moot issue.

In the bottom left of my screen it always says 1 bitcoin = 1.0000 bitcoin. I always noticed this and thought it was kind of a useless piece of information, but now I'm told that it's supposed to display the SR exchange rate. Why does my screen just say one bitcoin equals one bitcoin??

You are set to view in Bitcoins, if you change it on your settings page to view in your local currency you'll see the exchange rate then.

benzoking, do you realize there are nearly 500 BTC for purchase via cash deposit on buybitcoin.us? and if you sell on there, you arent gonna be linked to illegal SR activity? if just one of your customers meets you via SR forum for cash bank deposit, and actually ends up being LEO, the account is compromised.

Its fine. I have everything taken care of but I do appreciate your concern.

We need more trade activity and some big players to pump the price on the smaller exchanges to even it all out! If I was looking to buy BTC, mt gox is the last place I would go! It's the most expensive and wants the most info from you! BTC-E, Camp-BX, there are a lot of exchanges out there with BTC for about 10$ less then mtgox! If everyone moved away from gox for a little whle, gox might have time to figure out some of the issues they're dealing with! But your BTC somewhere else!
