should my instawallet say this: "These funds are not confirmed yet, they will be spendable in approximately 10 minutes"
-
final noob question because after this one you arent a noob or cause you arent gonna ask anymore questions? ;)
Yes is is normal. Bitcoin transfers usually need 6 confirmations before they are spendable. What you got right now is a few confirmations...once you get 6 you can spend or move the coins.
Nothing to do but wait..... ;)
10 minutes.

a combo of both :)
thanks for the info. how long does it usually take for coins to clear going from instawallet to SR?

Hey nao!! You said 'final noob question' lol
It's all good. just be patient. Can take 10 minutes, can take a day. But you shouldn't sweat it(though we all did a little at first, I think). ;)
Once I sent two transactions to my SR wallet and one showed up almost instantly, but the 2nd one took 16+ hours. I was kinda worried, too. But it all worked out in teh end. Just make sure the link is right and you aren't giving it to a phisher(NEVER use the Hidden Wiki link, MEMORIZE the SR address).
Good luck, and welcome!

It varies. SR is a bit of a black hole for coins sometimes. What I mean to say is sometimes it takes longer for coins to appear on SR. I think it even says next to your SR deposit address "give it a couple hours.."
The important part is that the coins always get to the other end eventually.
