So, I ordered 1.20 bitcoins last Friday (the 6th) and was promised a delivery time by Coinbase for today, Thursday the 12th, at 3:30.
I was pumped as hell. I've been picking all the stuff I was gonna get on SR. I've NEVER purchased on SR before, but I've been studying it for months and finally decided I'm ready (learned PGP, learned how to be safe, etc). I've done nothing but OBSESS over waiting for those bitcoins...
And then, of course, they cancelled my order AT THE VERY LAST FUCKING SECOND! They said it was a "high risk" transaction.
The only reason I can think of for them to do that is that the coin is worth about 11 more dollars than is was last Friday and they just didn't want to lose that 11 bucks. I honestly can't think of any other reason. Sure, I'm a new customer with no reason to be trusted (other than verifying my identity, giving them my cell phone number and verifying my bank account).
I'm so angry it hurts. I had it all planned out. I was going to transfer them about now (when I was promised them) to my SR address, wait the time it took to transfer, then FINALLY get to use SR!
I even got my .001g scale in today from Amazon.
I WAS READY! haha
So, does anyone want to recommend a bitcoin site to me? One that is REALLY quick, not one of those deposit your cash into some bank, something I can do online quickly and efficiently?

Just use localbitcoins. There's a multitude of different methods you can use from them, from an actual meeting with a local person, I've never done this, to moneygram, bank deposits, paypal , western union, etc, etc, etc. I like the moneygram option and can have the BTC's in my localbitcoin wallet in literally minutes from when I start the transaction. That speedy part of course depends on choosing a vendor that works fast. Localbitcoins even uses escrow , just like the Road for your protection. I could make an order now and have the BTC'sa in 20 minutes. That , of course doesn't mean BTC's in my SR account, you still have to do that transfer, but that usually only takes bout an hour or 2. Sometimes longer but there's nothing to be done about that part.

I attempted a moneygram order (online) on there just now. Everything was going smoothly until I was made to contact moneygram's offices in order to process my order. After talking to the representative, he said that he received a message that my process was NOT approved and that I should go to a location personally and attempt to send in that way.
As I don't want to go physically anywhere to do this...it was very disappointing. the good thing is, the trader I was attempting to work with on Localbitcoins was very courteous and understanding and very quick. Maybe I'll just have to try another payment method on there.
Thanks for the suggestion, 88fxstc! I'll keep trying, damnit!! haha.

Ya, I've always went right into a moneygram location, either a Walmart or a CVS. If your in the USA, you pretty much can't swing a dead cat without hitting a CVS or Walmart. Is it security reasons keeping you from physically going into a moneygram branch, are you worried about a camera catching you or something like that?? If that is your reasoning, don't worry about it, in MG's eyes your only either sending $$$ to someone or your paying a bill, depends on how the vendor has it set up. I've had excellent luck using the vendor quickcoin on localbitcoins.com. But, there are plenty just as fast and reliable as he is.
Hope it works out for ya Brutha

I used to use coinbase! you got flagged for 1.2BTC. I got flagged for buying between $200-450 worth of BTC for a few weeks. I disputed the cancelled BTCs with them and got them to whitelist my account.
Then I had an epiphany: they know im buying BITCOINS and they stopped me, I wonder who I was reported too. Be careful using Coinbase, dont get sucked in by there quick turnaround times and eas of use!
Just hit up some vendors on the road for WU or Moneygram

I've never used coinbase and I unfamiliar with it, but, why is it an issue if they know your buyingf bitcoins. They're not illegal, aqnd, isn't this Coinbase a site where you go just for that? to buy bitcoi8ns?

Lmao at the swing a dead cat part. It's true. I live in a busy city here in the "land of the free" and there's literally one everywhere. Thing is, there's also moneygram offices and shit everywhere. If I could just get out earlier in the day and start walking, I could just go ahead and start swinging that rotten cat. No, it's not security reasons. It's more of a "I don't have a car at the moment and just want to do everything online."
Thanks man for the help, bra. I gave up on using moneygram or western union online, so, I'm either gonna wait until tomorrow to actually walk in to a place or I'm gonna see how btcQuick works out. I just signed up on there and am waiting verification.
You or anyone else had a history with them and know if they're good to use?

The truth is, the most secure and reliable way is to meet a Bitcoin seller in person using localbitcoins. Meet at a coffee shop or some public place. It is rather quick, direct, secure, anonymous, and low risk. Unless you live out in the boonies, then I would understand why face to face transaction would be inconvenient.

I disputed the cancelled BTCs, but have yet to get a reply. It was about 6 hours ago. I don't care, I'm done with'em. I'm not willing to wait another 4 to 6 days to see if I can get BTC.

I don't live in the boonies, but the thing is, I can't find anyone in my area that sells them personally on there. It shows no results for my area.

EXACTLY. This is why I'm not going to try there again. They allow more of an "instantaneous" purchase when you've purchased some coin and wait 30 days.
Thanks to my order being cancelled, my wait to thirty days, which started when I first began my, now cancelled, transaction, started back at zero.

Actually once your account is verified then purchases are instantaneous! you have bitcoin and then they take the money from your account a few days later. Read the coinbase website.

Hey guys,
I'd like to work with you going forward and I can offer a great rate, very easy transitions with btc, and be your trusted provider. I deal with either WU(more fees involved), or cash deposits at either Bank of America, BB&T, or Chase account. All you need to do is post a cash deposit to the account I provide via email, email me your deposit receipt, and I'll send coins very quickly! We can arrange a good time so that as soon as you send me the deposit receipt, I'll be standing by and will send the coins at that very price of btc of the receipt. Trust me, we can start with small transactions - I am a vendor and am looking to help my fellow bitcoin aficionados achieve their needs and wants long term!! I'm not trying to jack up my rep for a couple hundred bucks...
I am a professional and have been dealing personally and professionally in btc for a while now.
My ideal situation is to work with you and build my rep on here (specifically) as a vendor.
Also, I'm willing to offer a lower rate than I usually do, and in turn, you can give me a shout out on here and any referrals I get from you, I'll be happy to discount your rate even more.
Hit me up via email if you'd like to work together: libertycoin@sefe-mail.net and let me know if you prefer PGP.

is this your first time buying coin from them? u must have did something fishy to them like use TOR or provide perhaps a burner phone number or email account. its weird that they would cancel your first order, are you sure you had the funds in your bank account?

Yeah, but your account is only considered "verified" when you've purchased your first coin and wait 30 days. I've read plenty of the website. Once you wait 30 days AFTER your first purchase, then you are upgraded to "Level 2," and get to enjoy their "instantaneous" purchases.

I was a first time buyer, as I think I stated in my original post. I did nothing fishy. I used a regular internet browser, gave them a legit phone number, and a legit email account that I've used for years. I had plenty of funds in my bank account to cover it.

Dude, the only problem with these transactions is they go around the SR escrow system right? Wouldn't it be better for all if you became a vendor on localbitcoins as they have escrow? It would increase your possible customer base and add the protection of escrow to buyer and seller. Don't get me wrong, I've done these deals on the Road when I just had to for one reason or another, but if I don't have to I wont. With no transactions yet, your asking someone to make a pretty great leap of faith, again , I'm not trying to bust your balls, I've made that leap of faith myself. I was Changs 1st customer, luckily , he was/is legit, but, a lot of seeming legit vendors, for whatever, bitcoins, drugs, whatever, provide superb service to gain trust B4 going rogue and scamming folks. A dude named DubGx2 sold me some of the finest cocaine to ever move thru the Road, me and many others, B4 going scammer and burning a lot o folk. We all have to be careful is all I'm saying.

Oh, yeah. I would never buy BTC on SR. I also really don't appreciate him posting an advertisement here. I also hope that EVERYONE has the sense to NEVER buy BTC on SR.

No, I agree and understand your stance completely. I've been scammed too on here, actually and it was for a measly 100 bucks...so I decided to do something about it. I do actually have a localbitcoin account set up that I've used a while back, but I am currently looking to forgo that extra step, as I can assure an honest transaction. As we know, word of mouth is gold on here and that's the type of reputation I'm looking to gain. If I can get you the best price (or very close to) with a quick transition, and with the utmost availability of coins, there's no reason anyone should hesitate.

I like coinbase. I've used it a few times and it's pretty simple to use and hasn't let me down so far.
-
any idea why i can't get level 2 ID verification..? I haven't moved in so long, i make sure to put all correct info. i also used my old address and couldn't be verified. I've read on other places that it might be because i dont have a credit history. i think that's a dumb way to get verified if its true. couldn't they just use the info you give them to check that you are who you say you are. they are asking for your ID info...which im sure is in data bases

If you've verified everything, and made a purchase, then you should be on level 2 30 days after your first purchase.
If it has been 30 days sense your last purchase, and you've done everything else that needs to be done to verify, then you need to contact their customer support.
Good luck. It's been about 12 hours since I contacted them and still haven't gotten a response.

So and update about my coinbase account. I received a message from them today:
-------------------------------
"Hi,
Sorry about that! After manually reviewing your account I've whitelisted it so you shouldn't experience any additional issues going forward. I've also pushed through the transaction that was canceled previously (at the original exchange rate you locked in), so you should have those coins soon.
Hope it helps and sorry again for the trouble!"
-------------------------------
I honestly didn't expect that. In fact, I didn't expect it so much that I bought 1 BTC from btQuick today (PHENOMENALLY QUICK, BUT PRICEY AS ALL FUCK! 7% fee). It even took less than 5 mins for me to get it in my SR account.
haha, thing is. I guess I messed up a symbol or capitalization when writing my pin. So, when trying to check out with a particular vendor, I ended up getting my pin locked until Monday. So, I promptly changed my SR passphrase in case my account had been compromised and some one else had changed my pin (one reason, while unlikely, why I couldn't get to work) and now I'm just gonna wait it out until Monday for those coins. Damnit. haha.
Fortunately, thanks to Coinbase, I'll hopefully have 1.20 a little later tonight (was promised a certain time, it's now two hours later) but we'll see how it goes. Thinking about setting up another SR account and using those particular coins this weekend...even though things will not ship until Monday, anyway.
So...it's been a crazy ride in obtaining my first coins...Spent way more than I intended, but maybe here soon I'll be posting about drug quality, and not bitching about buying bitcoins.
Speaking of drug quality, anyone wanna suggest meth, heroin, or benzo (any kind) vendors to a guy that's never made a purchase on SR?
