Title: Reliable bitcoin service that accepts chase deposit? (US)
Post by: blackend646 on March 24, 2012, 03:40 pm
Is there any proven legit services to acquire bitcoins using chase deposits in the US? Previous transactions with get-bitcoin.com went smoothly but lately I've been reading a troubling amount of selective scam accusations on their end.

Can you use a tormail address when dealing with bitinstant? And do you send it to mt.gox or do you use another one of the options? Want to make sure my money doesn't disappear since I know mt.gox locks people out for using tor.

I don't think it matters what kind of email address you use.

I always use bitinstant. Not sure about the tormail. Why not just make a dummy yahoo email using tor, complete the transaction, and never access it again. Really the only thing they email you is the confirmation and invoice. You even have the option to have the invoice SMS'd to your phone. You can get it sent to a number of places, but I always get it sent straight to MTGOX and never had a problem. Ever. If you call when you leave the bank to confirm the transaction, (they automatically do it hourly even if you don't) I can guarantee the monies will be in said account before you get home. They are also affiliated with MtGox, so I wouldn't anticipate any problems at all. Good luck.

Even the 'reliable' services can get all twisted up, as those of us who had recent problems with TradeHill can testify.  Last time I needed btc I just went with btcKing--inhouse vendor-- who has a Chase Deposit setup....

Can anyone walk me through the anonymous use of bitinstant to get coins into SR wallet as if explaining to a 5 year old? It is as simple as selecting the bank deposit method --> Mt gox --> Silkroad? I just read this thread http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=16477.0 and it worries me a bit, I don't want to see my money disappear.

I don't know mtgox, but all of them are kind of a pain, and all of us have had to just plod along and follow the instructions.  If you are going with mtgox, and they use bitinstant, then if you click on their pages, they'll have instructions.  Everytime I'd use TradeHill, I'd have to do the same tired thing, you'll have to do....

It it's too much hassle, and you want bank deposit, you could use btc King, since that's how he does it.  But again, probably no one will be able to tell you an easy way to use MtGox because they had to do the same thing.  What I remember--from Tradehill--was just to open my account first, then click on where it says to deposit funds, then just follow that down.  That's how TradeHill does it, and probably MtGox too.

I know getting btc is a pain: we've all been thru this.  I don't know if anybody can actually just 'walk you thru it' without having to do the same thing you'll have to do...

If you already have the mtGox account, then you are just trying to get cash into it, right?  That's the hassle part.  And I just go to my regular browser for those kind of accounts, not TOR.  MtGox and bitinstant are ok, you should be able to get it thru...if not, start until you get stumped, then ask, and somebody should be able to help you....best wishes, I know this is that hassle part of getting things going here ..

BTC King allows you to make deposit at Chace and then will place into your Silkroad account for a fee.  I have used him three time since I'm still learning how to acquire and move BTC from a exchange.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Ended up using bitinstant cash deposit, the entire process of getting coins in my SR wallet took minutes, the biggest hassle is the short walk to the bank. Highly recommend this service but I'd suggest exercising caution either way, a month ago I would have highly recommended get-bitcoin and they turned out to be a little shady.

Still can't get over how awesome this place is. Is it just me or are bank tellers the friendliest and most accommodating dealers in the world?

I have the same experience every time. (except I drove and used Wells Fargo as it's the only bank of the four that exist in my bumfuck state) Anywho, bitinstant has been around for a while, and they seem to be super pro. I have never had a problem with the at least 10 transactions I've had with them. Every time I have used them, it's always been in my wallet by the time I get to the house, especially if you call and confirm the transaction. Glad it all worked out.
