This may be in the wrong place, but it is a question in relation to a vendors product and I wanted input from the quick to speculate region of the community :P
I was under the impression most individual blotters were capable of holding somewhere between 2-3 mg of dissolved chemical before the excess would begin to crystallize on the exterior of the paper and be able to be knocked off. I know it completely depends on the type of paper and ink and the size of the blotter etc but I recently read an offer for a blotter with a mg content that I believed to be unrealistic. I am not saying the vendor is making false claims so I dont want to give specifics, I was just curious if anyone else has any thoughts on the potential capacity of a blotter.
Could one blotter potentially hold ~ 8 mg of a common research chemical? Could it possibly work to just make the blotter 2-3x the size?
given a 1x1 cm blotter, one could make it 1.65 x 1.65 cm which would increase the surface area by around 2.7 times (times 3 mgs) = 8.1 mgs, but thats a large square of paper that would taste like shit probably...
