Title: Cash deposit to Bitcoins address: alternatives??
Post by: cmz8706 on October 29, 2012, 05:24 pm
I used to deposit cash at a major bank directly into Silk Road bitcoins address.
this week I noticed that BitInstant no longer offers major bank deposits OR accepts bitcoin addresses.

does anyone know of any alternative services or websites that allow you to do this?
it was by far the most anonymous way to deposit small amounts.

I really don't want to sign up with MtGox or the other exchange programs that require copies of my drivers license and utility bills. that's absurd.
I would love to deposit cash directly at a bank to my bitcoins address account. are there any other sites that allow you to do this right now?

thanks guys.

Yeah I am having issues with this as well.  BitInstant didn't even really give us any warning as to why they removed it.  If I remember right MoneyGram charges extra to send to MtGox AND that's only IF it's working (which it wasn't yesterday via TrustCash).

Bitinstant-->Moneygram (CVS/7-11/Walmart, etc. - bring fake name, tel # and address) --> Mt. Gox (sign up with fake name and a Tormail address but NEVER sign in to Mt. Gox through TOR - I never had to provide any documentation there) --> SR (or through bitcoin fog or other wallet on the way to SR.

Easy (relatively), safe and anonymous.

$300 limit is a bit of a hassle for those of us doing higher level transactions.  I guess it'll have to do for now though until BitInstant figures it out.  It's possible that LE is cracking down on businesses that work with BitInstant / BitCoins.  My best guess considering both Coinapult AND MoneyGram are having issues at the moment.

*Sigh* this is annoying.

There's  $300 limit for a bill payment through ZipZap? Where does it say that?

I just made a ZipZap payment slip for $500.  Guess I'll head on over to Walmart... this shit is way annoying.

Nevermind, apparently it's about $500 for me.  Maybe it's because I'm in the US that I have the limit?

Here's what I'm seeing:

I'm trying to get a better idea of WTF is going on here.  $500 isn't too bad for now but I'll eventually want to ramp up and this is already more inconvenient than cash deposit via bank.
