Hi, is it safe to take ativan pills that have been exposed to air for a long period ?

how long are you talking, like over a couple years?

I'm talking of some weeks or months and also temperature changes

They should be, unless the air was so moist they started to dissolve.
All medication has an expiry date printed on it, but for many substances this is just a formality. Most benzo's will be good and just as potent even a decade after the date on the strip passed.
There are certain medications that will actually 'go bad' over time and should never be used after the expiration date. Tetracycline class antibiotics are one good example, but i suppose there are several others too. These are the exception to the rule though, the vast majority of medication will work just fine long past the expiry date if kept dry. Moisture is something to keep in mind though - not all blister packs are hermetically sealed, and even if they are the sealing may be compromised in transit.
