Check out Bitinstant
they allow you to buy bitcoins with cash at CVS or wal-mart. then those coins get sent to your bitcoin wallet.
You need a wallet.

The easiest and most reliable way I have found is bitinstant (https://www.bitinstant.com/). I can only tell you what works best for me, but other people prefer much more or less caution. Once you get going, you'll unrstand what I'm saying a bit more.
Do you have a bitcoin wallet?
-
Transfer money into a third party such as dwolla. Then transfer to a bitcoin platform such as campbx or mtgox. Then do a trade for coins and send it to your bitcoin wallet through SR or which ever wallet you choose.

thanks for the replies,
I am in the UK so i dont know if bitnstant will work. also i dont have a bit wallet,
how do i get one?
-
What about barclays ping it ? any good to you ? uk is hard i thought, well harder than australia anyway

I think you are right about bitinstant outside of the US. As far as a wallet goes, you can get a currently get completely free and anonymous one at https://www.instawallet.org
The url that shows up is how you access that wallet. SAVE OR BOOKMARK THAT URL TO ACCESS THAT INSTAWALLET. DO NOT GIVE IT TO ANYONE ELSE ! When you go to https://www.instawallet.org, a new wallet with a new bitcoin address is automatically created.

i looked into the barclays thing, but I havnt got a smartphone anymore. dont think that there is one for laptop.
that instawallet link doesnt work..
I am trying to use dwolla and mt gx but unsure on how to do it

You could always try earning them using mining. Thats what I do since I'm dead fucking broke anyway.

try bitcoin talk, i found someplace a while back that was like a market place for bitcoins, bit like ebay or silk rd even
