Title: Britcoin and Wallet help needed
Post by: donniedarko2011 on June 18, 2011, 11:00 am
Hi

I recently bought some coins on britcoin.

I sent them to my wallet on my computer and accidentally cancelled the transfer right afterwards.

The request is down as finished and the coins left my account on Britcoin but havent arrived anywhere.

Should I be worried or does it take a while for it to go fowards or backwards when sent?

Thanks in advance

What does six confirmations mean?
Where in the process are these confirmations?
How long does this take?

When I checked on the block explorer it says that the bitcoins have not been redeemed at delivery yet.
Anyone know what that means?

Thanks

If you're looking at the transaction on blockexplorer, check the number of the block it appears in, then check the current block number in the bottom right of the bitcoin client. When the current block number is 5 more than the transaction's block, that's 6 confirmations (the original block + 5 later blocks).

If you use the bitcoin client to send money, it also shows the confirmation count next to each transaction.
