What does an intercepted package look like on the USPS tracking page? I put DCN on all my packages and on two of them they do not display on the USPS tracking page. Just a simple message in red
Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office.
Now, I know I can get this message if I enter an invalid number but I don't think that's it. Does anyone know for certain what an intercepted DCN message looks like?

What you're describing is the result of a lack in funding for USPS. The numbers simply aren't updating/being scanned. I have had this happen to me a few times, all packs arrived and the DCN would update a few days after delivery. Weird stuff. However, I have never heard of a specific term for seized packs either...could be the same message? Who knows.

Thanks for that. I feel allot better.
Has anyone ever seen, with good certainty, what an intercepted DCN message looks like?

I've always heard never to check DCN's from a tor browser or from your home IP. Wish I could help you out more man.

dcn is NOT a tracking number.
they can update periodically but they dont not need to ... they just need to confirm delivery. with USPS hurting expect DCN's to get even less service.
they dont even have to confirm delivery on the day they are delivered, just a short time after.

I had an order seized once that had a DCN. The DCN Stated "Left USPS Sort Facility" in the city it was mailed from and then never updated after that. Even weeks later, still said the same thing. Then about 4 weeks after it was marked shipped, had a controlled delivery attempt.

Yup I see this happen all the time with my packages, when I first started I would be biting my nails off from anxiety because it would be days after I drop off the packages and when I checked the DCNs it would just say "electronic shipping info received" but then it would skip to "Delivered." Just depends on how lazy the postal workers are I guess.

Correct, DCN is only what it claims to be: Delivery Confirmation. It is not intended for tracking. Also, I seriously doubt they would tell you they've intercepted your package, that would defeat their whole intention (potential controlled delivery).

I get that message when I put DCN on first class envelopes. It usually takes 3 days for it to activate on the USPS tracking page. But as others have stated DCN is not tracking and it may not go active until it's been delivered.
I recently sent a package Priority with DCN and on the tracking it said "Missent" then "Forwarded to a different address" and said that for 2 days. I panicked but luckily it just meant USPS delivered it to the wrong destination sorting facility and forwarded it to the proper sorting facility and was later delivered successfully 2 days after estimated delivery date.

If a package is intercepted and disposed of the DCN becomes invalid as it is removed from the DB. I am unsure in the case of a controlled delivery.

Ok, I get it DCN is not tracking. A messege will show if it's delivered. If it's not delivered no messege shows? If no messege shows how can a seller confirm with a buyer that in fact the package was sent but it was intercepted? There doesn't seem to be any evidence for this.
I as a seller I guarantee product or BTC based on this DCN. If the DCN never shows and I know I shipped it how can I expect the buyer to believe me when there is no evidence?

DCN will show delivery if its delivered.
So if DCN never comes on ... then your item didnt make it.
Depending on your policy about intercepts/reships maybe DCN isnt best for you. If you need proof you SENT, then you need tracking number, not DCN.
