Post by: FreeLife1 on January 17, 2012, 09:39 pm
These cards you cant put money on more then once, correct?

I want to use this for BTC Buddy but don't want to get the wrong one... (yes i read what he said on his page)

I know its called a reload card but you can load it up only once Ive been reading and also it seems green dot is different then money pak.

Need to get this down
Thanks ahead 8)

No, you don't want a re-load card.

You just want the $4.95 Green Dot Money Pak card. Can only use it once.

most btc exchangers will accept any money pak amount since they charge the highest fees for the low amounts

BTC Buddy indeed does do this  (I know from personal dealings with him/her).  Just keep in mind from your perspective that those MP starter fees (ie, the 4.95 when you start the card up) can be thought of  an additional 8-9% services fees on top the cuts that Silk and/or BTC take from the transaction.

No application process.  When the cashier rings you up just tell them you want x-amount on the card and that is that.

SR doesn't charge you for buying BTC from a vendor (yet) but you do pay a considerable premium.  SR only takes their cut in listings that have an actual value amount - their commission is built into the listing price.

So if you wanted to buy something that currently cost 40 BTC, and BTC traders were charging $7/coin, you would have to send them an MP worth $280...assuming they don't also take a percentage cut.  Then when you get the 40 BTC in your account, you purchase the listing with it, and you're done (assuming you didn't get really unlucky and have the BTC market value take a nose dive in the meantime)

btc buddy always treated me real good. i always got the lowest prices and fastest service, madamebradley is also good to work with. but BTC Buddy is my go to guy. he was my first transaction and he walked me through from start to finish then he didn't even charge me his usual fee he cut me a break. hes an all around good guy.

SORRY: i said madamebradley when i should have given the props to sugarmama. but i also borrowed BTC from her so she gets props too.
