So i recently discovered dubstep sounds good when you're on drugs. Anyone have some good dubstep recommendations for me?
-
for what it's worth, try bass necture instead.
-
they're okay.
-
velvet acid christ?
sorry, not trying to diss dubstep, but i'd rather listen to noise, like unter null.
-
i thought unter null was aggrotech, not noise.
-
as for industrial, since you mentioned velvet acid christ, skinny puppy are my absolute favorite.
-
can't go wrong with skinny puppy <3
-
i'll be honest man. i grew up on hendrix, the dead, joplin, the doors, ect. i'm a big grunger/metal head. as far as electronic genre's, i'm no expert. but, what dubstep i have heard, irritates me. i don't know why, it just does.
-
i like when it goes wub wub screech wub srecch wikka wikka screech wub sub.
-
There's a tonne of different subgenres in dubstep, it's tricky as shit.
-
As JellyLegs said, dubstep can sound entirely different. Personally I prefer earlier stuff, like Skream, Benga, Digital Mytikz sorta stuff, but if you're looking for the more in your face loud obnoxious dubstep, go with Excision, Datsik, maybe Rusko, maybe Skrillex
And I hope by 'certain drugs' you mean KetaWIN - getting wonky to dubstep then slipping into a hole is damngood, I'll grant you ;)
-
J Kenzo, The Strangers, Kinzy, Megalodon, 50 Carrot, Jakes.
Just some artists off the top of my head that are good.

I used to think dubstep was stupid robot music. I'm a deadhead myself. Then I went to a dubstep show one time really high on speed. After that I sort of felt like I could see why it is appreciated. I sometimes listen to it when I'm writing or browsing the internet late at night, but I find drum and bass better for those purposes now. Usually I just go on youtube and type in something like "three hour dubstep."
-
I never understood dubstep till I rolled. ;D
Mt Eden
Nero
BASSNECTAR
Example
Zeds Dead
Datsik
Rusko
Netsky
Flux Pavilion
Skrillex (a few songs are decent and fun to dance and jump around to if you're really rolling ;))
Kaskade
Knife Party
MRK1
Excision
-
Most electronic music sounds a lot better on drugs. Wolfgang Gardner is fun to dance to while rolling.
-
rusko- hold on ft. amber coffman (sub focus remix)
-
funny how everyone's afraid to like skrillex. i'm a metalhead myself, but every skrillex song/remix bangarangs as hell.
-
I tend to lean towards VOCAL dubsted
Veela:
Fall silently (toby emerson mix)
Ellie Goulding:
The Writer (tc4 mix)
Blue Eyes foundation
Eyes on fire (Sketch remix) there is a more popular mix, but I prefer this one
Those are my favs, I kind of got bored searching for new vocal dub tunes, but if you want some more of that style, go to youtube, enter the name of the song, then the side bar takes you away. And yes, The ones with pictures of super hot bitches may grab your attention, those are often great tunes.
-
Dubstep is for jello necks
-
Eos, NiT GriT, Excision, Downlink, Datsik, Flux Pavilion, Rusko, Zeds Dead, DJ Pekas (if you like electro), Modestep, Kill the Noise, Bassnectar (Vava Voom sucks dick, tho. Steer clear of that album). Skrillex has some good tracks, but can't stand for what the guy stands for. Nero is pretty good too.
-
OP is a retard fag. Dubstep is for tards.

+1 to all mentioned.
Any artist on the hyperdub label is usually pretty good. As with CITVVTIK, I am into the deeper stuff, and find the mid-range robots to a be a bit offensive to the genre :P However, I do love me some Rusko, Emalkay, and Skream, all of which have varied between mid to super low range stuff.
Some other artists to consider:
Scuba
Zomby
Flying Lotus
Mount Kimbie
Eskmo
James Blake
Gold Panda
These artists are not your typical dubstep and pull inspiration from many different genres. A lot have inspirations from 2-step and uk garage and all sorts of stuff. Zomby has a whole album, where were u in 92', that pays respects to jungle and oldskool hardcore. FlyLo is all sorts of wonky and yeah James Blake croons like a choir boy. Fuck genres, praise individualism

If you get the chance to see BASSNECTAR live DO IT. Its fun to watch hundreds of people try not to shit themselves when he hits the ultra low WHHHOOOOAAAMMMMM. Yep, nothin' beats the look of some chick wearing next to nothing suddenly looking stressed as the MDMA and 10Hz encourage her dinner burrito to make an early exit. Good times.
-
Not exactly dubstep but I saw The Prodigy live last year, was pretty effin awesome can tell you that ;D
Dropping some old tunes, funky shitt 8) The crowd was at least 50.000 people, biggest I've ever been in
