I know I'm asking for a "use the search" reply, but the way I see it, this whole bitcoin market seems to be constnatnly changing, so viewing a thread from 4 months ago I don't think would be much help.
Anyhow, I cannot figure out the best way to go about buying bitcoins. I tried localbitcoins and the only person in my area doesn't offer in-person trades. I just think it's crazy to deposit money into this guys account with the hopes that he will actually give me the bitcoins. I'm afraid to open up an e-wallet tied to my bank account because when it comes time to transfer the bitcoin to my SR account, I feel like it'd be super easy to trace everything back to me if it ever came down to it. I noticed there are listings for bitcoins on ebay, but for some reason this seems a bit sketchy. Anyone have any luck with ebay?
In short, my question is: What is the safest, most secure, reliable way buy bitcoins and what are the dangers associated with transfering them to my SR wallet?
Thanks in advance!

I can certainly help you out with this. PM or check my vendor page. Most of the info is there, but I do need to update it, so message me with any questions. You can also see I've had honest, successful, and very appreciative exchanges, so no need to worry. Not to mention my very low rates.
Look forward to it!

Use coinbase.com
It'll take you a week to get your first bitcoins, but they give you a fair price, and you don't have to do any tedious process.
And get this! After 30 days of being a member, you verify your ID and get bitcoins INSTANTLY.
No other service provides this, and no wire transers (and they don't have fees or take percentages)
It's just the waiting that sucks that first month :/
