Title: help i can't boot from my usb in a compaq 6720s with linux ubuntu

hello,i can't boot from my usb in a Compaq 6720s with Linux Ubuntu,i changed the bios(f10 for the bios and i changed the order), but even so i doesn't work i tried the Linux liberte usb in a different computer with windows and it does work,any idea?,is it a laptop trouble?,there is something to make with Ubuntu(last version)?.

If i'm reading the spec correctly, your system should support Linux, however as mentioned USB booting can be problematic.

Couple of options:

You have an optical drive right? - burn a Linux Live CD and boot to this (loads of guides online on how to).

or

If you are absolutely resolute on using a USB stick, try this software, it will give you a list of distro's (Linux OS's to choose from and will create a custom boot menu so you can have more than one on a stick):
