Title: How does Bitinstant work?
Post by: sofish89 on February 28, 2013, 02:04 am
On the bitinstant website it says you give them your email where to send your bitcoins to and they send you a "deposit slip" which you take to a local location such as Walmart, 7-11, the bank etc and you follow the intructions on the slip..

1.How does this work, how can I get bitcoins at my bank?

2.Can I tell Bitinstant to deposit them directly in my SilkRoad wallet? How does this work ??

Typically, if you have a Mt. Gox wallet, you can link BitInstant to transfer funds there, from which you'll then reroute them to your SR account. The deposit slip they use is usually through a third party bill payment called ZipZap. Usually you just need to present it to the cashier when making your transaction. You'll find more specific instructions on your payment slip. If you are depositing $100 or greater, I HIGHLY recommend you use a service like Blue Sky Traders (http://ok2yri46aaptiu2d.onion/index.htm). BST offers speed, anonymity, and excellent customer service, and on top of that, they charge no fees for use of their service, unlike BitInstant. All you need to do is shoot them an email to set up the transaction and then visit your nearest Bank of America.
