I'm curious to know what happens to a delivery (envelope or whatever) that was sent to me, but was returned to sender (checked thru the DCN provided outside of TOR after the date I expected it to show up)?
For whatever reason the delivery didn't even make it out of the state it originated in, and was returned to the sender.
1. Does the delivery get destroyed if the return address is bogus?
2. Would the USPS open the PKG and try contacting me?
3. Would my mailing address now be put into some sort of database and 'flagged'?
I have no idea why the delivery was returned to sender (Bad delivery address, or not enough postage {I would think they would try and bill me if the latter})
Any insight would be welcome.
(As a side note, The seller was helpful, and we agreed on a partial refund, and another small quantity delivery (which I got) to make up for the loss).

Someone is going to have a party.

holy crap dude, so its not only me, dude I had 4 items ship on the 9th, and I finally got one with a yellow sticker on it after 10 days (today). And one I tracked said it was undeliverable as addressed and being returned to sender. But im positive there were no mistakes in the address or anything. I think all my shit is being sent back for some reason.
OP have any other packages got sent back? Anyone else in this same situation

Return to sender hopefully your vendor is not using a real address and it will just end up at the undeliverable mail office (UMO) where they destroy it after a month or so.

How would they contact you ? why didnt they just do that in the first place when there was a problem with the delivery address ?
Maybe it gets delivered to some random office where some guy opens it, and suddenly takes his 4 weeks of long service leave.
basically your drugs will either be destroyed, or someone else is getting high off them.

Drugs that are "to be destroyed" go through a lot of hands before they get "destroyed" ;)

Months ago, I had an order never get to me, but the seller didn't use a DCN, so I have no idea what ever happened with the shipment. I never got a love letter or anything else.
The last delivery I wrote about got returned to sender for an unknown reason (The DCN didn't indicate why it was returned). I would guess that the seller who has a good history didn't use his real address on the return label, that why i was curious to know what happens.
If a delivery like this just gets destroyed that would make me sleep a little easier, not thinking that my address is now blacklisted somewhere with the USPS.

Hopefully its not the same vendor..

So I had a package that was all set to be delivered to the pickup address (that was successful several times in the past), and for some reason it was deemed undeliverable on the DCN details. Does anyone know if there is a safe way to look into it (usps)? For example, calling the post office claiming to be the person written on the package? If you were to come in and pick it up, would they ask for ID? You could possibly say a friend who was staying with you ordered it, just in case they know what's inside?
Also, do they automatically inspect/open a package that cannot be delivered, or do they just treat it like any other package and not investigate the contents and eventually just destroy it? I figure even if I cannot physically retrieve the package, I'd at least like to know whether they discovered the contents and/or flagged the address of the undeliverable package. It's small, personal amount.
Is there any way to get the usps to try and resend it, or just probe for information before it gets sent to a real (but not used by vendor) return address?

:o
This seems to have happened to me recently as well. :'(
I really was hoping they'd try to send again, instead of automatically just sending it back.

Mail that is undeliverable as addressed gets RTS(return to sender). If it turns out it the return address is also one that cannot be delivered to..it gets sent to the USPS Recovery Center(formerly known as the Dead Mail Office) There it will get opened for the purpose of trying to ascertain where it was originally supposed to be shipped. If that can be determined it will be forwarded to the correct address. If contraband is discovered Postal Police is alerted and they may or may continue to try to figure out who it came from and who it was going to. If the mail can't be delivered it will either be destroyed or sold at auction. If you can identify a piece of errant mail intended for you..you can notify them and they will try to get it to you. Look up USPS RECOVERY CENTER.
