So, I started getting orders way faster than I expected. My first order has already been received (not today), according to the DCN. But the buyer hasn't confirmed it. They had a short history and the item cost wasn't very high. Am I about to feel the penis-of-not-getting-paid in my butthole?

Could be. All we can do as vendors is message the person and ask them to release funds. Sometimes, the reason they haven't finalized a transaction is because they haven't logged back in. Also, they have 18 days so it can be that long before u get anything. It sucks but that is the way it is atm. Typically I have found that if someone sees a polite reminder to finalize they will. Some casual silk roaders don't log in that often to see their messages however. Some also don't seem to understand the etiquette of releasing the money after they receive their product. I kinda wish they would shorten the escrow period for domestic purchases as it would help us vendors not get ass-raped as much when the BTC value falls.

I understand SRs focus on buyers, the buyers drive the market. If the website doesn't cater to them 1st, then the website doesn't exist. But to do so while neglecting the Sellers is irritating. We're losing money while SR and the Buyers profit from our losses. What are we gonna do, take out wares elsewhere? Bend over and take it, or get out of the business...
I'm sure SR isn't the only bunch of people who know how to use PHP and a Tor Hidden Service.

Having to wait over 2 weeks is shitty. I sent this order because he had 0 autocompletes. I realize now that his orders are probably still waiting to autocomplete.... That statistic isn't too useful. It's only a zero because it takes so long for it to happen. I can't see why it would need to be more than 10 days, tops. My domestic shipments will always be 2-4 days.

The flip side to this is the buyers side.
Other vendors are taking 2, 3, 4 weeks to get product to customers.
Which sucks, cause vendors like you are delivering in 2-3 days.
Why should you both get a 5/5??????
Just how is the buyer getting anything with this fall in BTC?
I need to purchase my BTC ahead of time and got caught holding shit that's now worth half.
I'm in the same boat as you unless my timing is real lucky.
Now I have to wait for all the crap to clear and jump on an order ASAP.
Buyers waiting to auto-complete are ruining it for all of us.
You get your shit, pay the man!!

You'd think the BTC drop would motivate Vendors. I want BTC in when it's cheap! Buy low, Sell high. Selling crap for BTC is the same as buying BTC. Do it when the BTC value is low. Derp...

I got my account right as the BTC drop was happening. I put my money in and made my bid. The value fell. But, since everybody was afraid to move their BTC, I got it for the bid I put in, so I didn't really lose anything. Nobody bid against me... When BTC falls in value, buy more. Now, you've got options. You can spend it at the same price you paid, or you can hold it and make a profit when it rises.... Hold the BTC that lost value. Buy more. How hard is this to understand?

I can understand letting a package sit in case it's a sleeper form of controlled delivery. But if you've got the damn package, then you've got the damn package! My DCN already proves you got it... C'mon people...
I'm not keeping addresses or names, but SR Usernames of people who do this shit. Wait until the last day before autocomplete, and then complete? You're doing it just to be a dick to a Vendor who did a damn good job getting you your shit. Don't expect to get the next shipment without releasing in advance. Your record is a lie.
I know SR wouldn't approve, but we should make a list of Usernames of people who deliberately leave a large delta between receiving the package, and completing the transaction. There is only one purpose for this; being a dick.
A few days in case of a sleeper controlled delivery. A few days to try the shit and see if it's as good as it was advertised to be. I understand that. But when you get it in 2 days, and then wait 2 weeks, and click 'complete' just before you get autocompleted just to be as big of a dick as you can be... Fuck you man, fuck you. Your next order is gonna have to be released before I ship, and that new name you make up, same thing already... You're going to have to start sticking to your names and not being a bunch of fuckbags.

Dear Silk Road,
We need a "Delta C" statistic. It will not be automatic. I can compile it myself, but that won't be very effective. It needs group input. Autocomplete data is useless when it takes over 2 weeks to autocomplete. Shortening the Autocomplete cycle would be a crude way to fix this, but "Delta C" would be better. People with wide Delta C are being dicks to their vendors and are potential thieves. We don't have a way to track it and we need one. Each Vendor could even be allowed to set a threshold against these statistics. "Delta C is between X and Y, no sale. Delta C is between Y and Z, must release funds before shipping out, Delta C below Z, I trust you, thanks for not being a butthole!" Such a feature would need a null set, for vendors who do not use tracking. the transaction would be documented, but not included in the statistics. This could even be used at Vendors' discretion in cases where the seller had an emergency or something, and the Delta C was not intentionally long. It could be checked agaisn the history to see that it was not the norm for this buyer, and just leave it null so it doesn't affect the buyer's stats. The same metric could be used to track Vendors with absurd shipping delays.
I could easily set up a hidden service with a form just for tracking this. I think it would be better (simpler, more secure, and more accurate) if SR did it themselves.

Easy solutions - unknown buyer from a rep vender? Buyer releases 1/2 before shipping or whatever the vendor enters. Auto finalise effects after 7 days. Or something like this. We need to give the trusted vondors more conrtol over how they are willing to accept orders and shipping. I would hope that with trusted buyers, this would not be nescessary.
