Title: UK - Bitcoin
Post by: drtimothyleary on October 20, 2012, 05:21 pm
Hello all,

I have used SR successfully for a while now and used MT GOX as my broker, the only problem I have now is that MT GOX is no longer allowing GBP bank transfers. I am now looking for another site and just wanted to query you all out there and find out which sites work the best for UK users. Apologies if this topic has been covered in another thread.

Cheers

bitcoin OTC. I'm learning this at the moment. It is a major ballache unless you are already very computer savvy.

Taking me ages to figure it out and getting very ustrated, but there doesn't seem to be a decent alternative

Aurum xchange for GBP bank deposits into Liberty Reserve, then Aurum exchange for liberty reserve $ to mt gox.

...or just Aurum Xchange for GBP bank deposit to MtGox USD

For people more concerned with easiness rather than anonymity, the pingit app is probably the way to go.
Or conversely, as already mentioned, bitcoin-OTC, localbitcoin etc.

I can send BTC to your SR wallet within an hour of receiving money via internet banking transfer. PM me for details :)

This has been covered in another thread, read this:

If you are not worried about anonymity, try Instawire:
https://instawire.org
No need to sign up, it has a fixed exchange rate for the day (higher than Mt.Gox average but not by much) and once they have received your banks euro deposit, takes about 4 or 5 hours to get the bitcoins in the wallet of your choice.
Bank transfer fees are currently £9.0 for Halifax, Bank of Scotland, and £15.00 for Barclays.
