Title: USPS Weirdness - Help
Post by: Spiderman on November 01, 2011, 07:08 am
So I placed an order and got a tracking number. Checked it (not on tor) and it had made it from the origin to my local sorting center with an estimated delivery time of the next day. 4 days later it hasn't arrived. I check the tracking again and it's back at the original sorting center about 2k miles away. It has been marked as "processed" for two consecutive days at the origin sorting center. Does this mean that my package has been returned to sender? It's the only reason I can think that it would say that it is back at its origin. The expected delivery date has not changed, it still says 4 days ago.
Has anyone else had this happen?

Weird you should mention this ... I actually had this exact thing happen to someone I sent a package to 2.5 weeks ago. It went from W. Coast to E. Coast ... showed " Arrival at unit " at the destination location ... then suddenly it was back W. Coast 3 days later to the main sorting facility.

Customer relayed that they received their package today LOL

When it comes to USPS/CanadaPost I dont ever really consider a package "lost" hahaha.

I thought it would be the notoriously bad usps tracking system. Like I said, it's been 4-5 days since it should have been delivered. I hate to bug the seller or sound stupid, I just want to know if I should stop expecting it to arrive. I've been going to the mail box everyday since it showed as one day away thinking "this is the day!" and now I don't know if I should give up on expecting it or what. :(

I've seen weirdness from USPS. Know someone who had a non-illicit package bounce between Boston and Cinci for about a month once. It was ridiculous. Finally got them to kill the loop and send it back to them - but yeah every once in a while the system loses its mind.  ::)

Hope yours shows up soon!

So it jumped back to the nearest sort facility and is now listed as "forwarded" -_-
So either the address was somehow mistyped at some point or USPS is just being stupid. I'm hoping it's still gonna get here, but now I'm sad. Feelsbadman.jpg
