Harlequin is a unique strain. Apparently it is a super strong sativa with almost no head high...get that, right ? sounds great. See below:
THCA 4.5%
THC .9%
CBDA 11.5%
CBD .7%
CBN 0%
Total THC: 5.4%
Total CBD: 12.2%
Total CBN: 0%
Total Active Cannabinoids: 17.6%
Moisture Content: 8.8%
Vendors should offer this strain more often...if they can get ahold of it...likely it will become more and more popular though over the coming years...some background story that I got off the interwebz:
Harlequin is famous for its high CBD, sweet taste, massive colorful buds and unprecedented medicinal effectiveness. Like many great discoveries, Harlequin’s origins were actually a bit of an accident. A small private breeding program in Switzerland working on a strain for hash production created a 75% sativa, 25% indica hybrid by crossing Colombian Gold, a Thai sativa from near Laos, a Swiss landrace sativa and a Nepalese indica from the Mustang region. One phenotype of this cross became known as Alchemy while another was given to the breeders friend who brought it to California in late 2009 to help treat his glaucoma. At the first harvest some flowers were given to Harborside for testing and found to be surprisingly high in CBD. Clones were provided to Harborside and it was requested that the genetics be spread to growers and dispensaries. At full term, Harlequin produces brightly colored purple, red, green and even yellow flowers, reminiscent of the costumes of the court jesters from which it is named. The smile Harlequin puts on your face may have something to do with this as well. Not surprisingly 12 of our 14 reviewers found this amazing strain helpful for their symptoms.
Considering the low THC content, Harlequins potency was rated surprisingly high. There was no solid agreement between our reviewers as to whether it was predominantly a head or body high, but most seemed to enjoy the effects.
Green Thumb seems to have captures what many others reported. “I felt a light, floaty body high for about three hours. The mental effect was very euphoric. I felt very calm and peaceful. Silly smiles all day long.” Yimbo told us a this about his experience. “Strong body high almost instantly. Definite head change but not overwhelming, very mild. I was fully functional just a little floaty.”

+1 to your guys, our apologies for the price, but with the SR fees (which are minimal really), the cash out fees (18-24%), the money we have to pay the buyer, the extreme stealth, we barely break even. Then when we get scammed (only happened 3 times out of 180 or so transaction) it takes us longer to come up with the $$ to pay our members and therefore it's limited and costly.
It's a medicine that seems to be helping people though and so far no problems with quality from our current sources so expect more. We're looking into a NEW CBD dominate LAB VERIFIED CBD strain to add to our listings since it looks like there may or may not be anymore LA so expect sometime special in a week or so if you're into the CBD.
Speaking of which, we got some pretty good feedback from those tetra gold smokable oil and CBD edible capsules if a week or so, or less, is too long a wait)

We need more CBD and less THC strains but stuff is moving slowly and there some very bad egos out there
One of the old style breeders (Master Thai) had an excellent strain: Green Dragon (BX7), with genetics from very early 1900's landraces, unfortunately this strains is not widely available commercially (for multiple reasons) but one thing is sure, Sam The Skunkman (ICmag moderator by the way) and MT will never be friends, historical issues that made lots of oldschool breeders leave the scene(the overgrow saga, new pharmaceutical companies patenting genetics, shady intermediate companies, organised crime, shady international politics and drug enforcement people, ...)
GD is an excellent sleep aid, has excellent relaxing properties without the THC hammer (introduced by crossing Skunk #1 and Original Haze). That shouldn't have happened but money breeders and fucked up dutch seedbanks, do the math... Makes people look like Soma and gives the plant an aura of lazy, non working hippies looking for the next high while having an ordering site full of copyright here and there and skyrocketing prices :D for worthless feminized seeds (seeds that mean: buy a subscription at your seedbank or further degrade by making clones of clones of clones...)
Also, it's not a simple math exercise of % THC & % CBD & %CBN %THC-V, there are many more aspects (and cannabinoids) that define the properties. Terpenes (Citral, Citronellol, ...) that give a strain it's typical smell (orange smell from Californian orange bud = terpene Citral) And also, the harvesting time (by checking the color of the trichomes, the curing method used after harvesting. Forced drying, or selling/consuming before a minimum of 3 months of curing degrade/modify the finished product. In the commercial world time is money... so harvest and cure asap. Lot's of processes happen while curing inactive CBN/THCA conversion...
Last but not least for what medical purpose: because somebody with sleeping problems won't have a much benefit of Sativa.
If it would all be that easy then big pharmaceutical companies would have made some analog (like they tried with Marinol or the experimental JWH-xxx AM-xxx and so forth crap that some idiots sold as legal alternative spice) and healthcare and patients would be paying premium to get them.
Then Indica vs Sativa (Don't forget we also have Ruderalis - where the autoflowering strains come from):
Indica = relaxing, couch look, bedtime, evening, pain killer, ... -> landraces from eg. Afghanistan
Sativa = active, productive, anti depressant, creative, more psychedelic... -> landraces from eg Thailand
So the best strain for medical use would be a nicely balanced one, because of the broad spectrum of medical conditions that can be treated, knowing how to make that is the holy grail for breeders (and pharmaceutical companies). Imagine an anti-depressing, relaxing, antiseptic, pain relief, sleep enhancing, appetizing, cancer curing, ...,... it would replace 80 to 90% of the products in your local pharmacy, their distributor and the pharmaceutical company holding the patent (or the makers of generics)
If we only wanted CBD, then we would all buy cheap hemp seeds per kilo ;-) for the price of one kilo of hemp seeds, one can buy 5 clearnet seedbank seeds.
We have ignored whatever crossing from the last 10 years and only have strains from the old breeders before it got a $$$$$ business. One of the modern monsters would kill are well preserved genetics, in fact, if these monsters are growing outside they would 'infect' landraces as pollen from the males can travel over very large distances, killing all natural biodiversity... like Monsanto tried with GMO cornfields
Peace

I am also super interested in this strain but I don't think Novartis ships to Canada.

UK stoner interested ;)

This strain needs to hit UK soil...........................................

We think we're coming close to a way to anonymously ship overseas with confirmation/tracking, but no promises. We're working on it though

Good stuff. Don't take this the wrong way or anything but if vendors can ship from the Netherlands world wide I am sure you will be ok, I have had 2 come from Amsterdam and both no problems at all but I was a nervous wreck at the time thinking all sorts but yeah pretty simple package too, obviously I wont go into detail but it was nothing mind blowing technical wise try not to over think things is all I will say on the matter.
Really hope you guys figure something out for O/S desperate to try this badboy!
