Title: are dymo stamps tracked?
Post by: tina on September 25, 2012, 07:23 pm
I've been wanting to print my own postage at home with my dymo label printer. it works very well, but i notice there are numbers at the bottom. One of them counts up for every label printed, the others just stay the same.

Can these numbers be used to track the source to my dymo account?

AFAIK when you sign up for the account, you are assigned an account number and that is what the other number on the stamp is, so yes, in that sense they are tracked. I was researching this a few days ago. With that in mind you should be relatively safe if you do your due diligence (IP masking, etc).

What good would IP masking do if they know what account bought the postage?

thanks

The only way you're going to be anonymous with electronic postage is with a stolen credit card number and/or bank account info.
