Title: Does anybody know how to delete a bitcoin address from client?
Post by: goblin on October 04, 2013, 01:12 pm
I am nervous about some bitcoin addresses on my bitcoin-qt client. I want them gone.

Anybody know if there is a way of doing this?

One thing you can do is to temporarily rename your wallet.dat and create a new (empty) wallet.dat. Then swap them and transfer any bitcoins you have to an address in the new wallet. Then just shred the old wallet (once its empty of course) with the shred command. Be sure you have no backups anywhere.
