Cleared the Barrows, now im fucked.
-
Which mission?
-
Well i have a choice. Meeting with that group, but where the blue arrow points me is right outside the gates and i get attacked by three brutes. The other mission is to meet the greywolves or whatever on the otherside of the mountain.
I am pretty fucked though. My char has 1 gold and even if i sell all my items it makes less than 1000.
Should i struggle on with this or create a new char? I started playing as a human.
-
Are you clued into how to level your players rapid?
-
Okay, I have a LOT of time on Skyrim and I have NO idea what you're talking about?

Lol yeah same, I'm confused as fuck. Sounds like you aren't leveling as much as you need to and/or you have only just started the game. I wasn't into gaming until recently and I actually rock-the-cock-socks off of Skyrim but I don't have the foggiest what you mean? :-\
-
Yeah sorry i have basically started the game.
I have cleared the level where you have to kill the spider and get the dragon claw, match up the symbols on the round door.
After that, i havnt got a fucking clue.
As for rapid leveling i need tips, im nearly lvl 4 lol. This might help explain things (i hope).

Basically it's easy to level up by just doing loads of blacksmith stuff or basically letting pussy opponents hit you so you develop your armor levels. Another good one is sneaking as well coz you can just walk in one direction while people are asleep. By the time I am where you are I'm about level 15+ lol. :P
-
Ahhh, Bleak Falls Barrow. You open the door with the claw, and walk forward. There should be a word wall. Walk up to the word wall and look at the glowing word, after a few seconds you'll learn a new shout. Then a dude busts out of the coffin behind you. Kill him to find the tablet.
I think.
I'm lvl 41 on my third char. so that mission was a while ago.

I will be starting play time at precisely 21:pm GMT. So i will at least be able to let you know how the first few hours go tomorrow.
Any other race you would be other than human??
Anyways, wish me luck guys!

LOL guys stop bickering!
What race is better other than human, if say i wanted to cast spells longer at the start of the game??
Oh and by the way, Lord Of War is on BBC1 tonight! Off topic but still epic.

Depends what you want to be, the general rule is -
High Elf/Breton - Magic
Human/Nord/Redguard - Battering cunts
Khajit/Argonian/Wood Elf - Stealth
I tend to combine both though, currently I am playing as a High Elf that basically specializes in Destruction/Stealth skills and I use Conjuration/Restoration a fair bit (around level 50 each) but I use stuff like Enchanting/Smithing to level up because they are quick to do so long as you have funds but Smithing basically pays for itself. Also using Enchanting means you can get better shit than a lot of what you find so you can jack your magic and magic regeneration (or whatever is important to you) easily with that.
Basically the key skills you should deffo pick are -
Sneak
Destruction/One Handed+Block/Two Handed+Block(whichever suits ya to kick arse)
Restoration
Lock Picking
Smithing (earns ya ££££)
Enchanting
All the others are fairly here or there but they can be useful if you want to be really in depth with how you play.
Oh yeah and Lord of War is sick, that guy is my idol.
-
Limitless, thankyou so much for breaking it all down for me.
This is the trouble when you go to games forums. They either brag, put you down or give you help in such vague ways it is ludicrous. Either that or they want to come along and "help" you.
Thankfully skyrim is not WoW.
I will keep you guys posted on how i get on. Gotta log now, got a game waiting!!.
P.S, thanks once again guys, +1 karma!
-
Oh and Lim, that +1 was for you btw :P
-
No worries mate, happy to have shed some light. Happy trails! :)

I've put about 400 hours into skyrim and its the best fucking thing i've ever played. the best way to level yourself is not just to focus on one mundane task like blacksmithing, but to work things that you have no intention to use as your character (blocking or heavy armour for a mage for example) in order to gain additional points to raise the skills you do want to level.
sneaking, stealing, attacking the guards only once (as not to gain too much of a bounty) and blocking and healing their attacks. wearing different types of armour, having a backup bow so you can fire a few shots in early aswell as gain a few exp points.
i cant play skyrim anymore, if i touch water the game totally freezes, and im too anal to save my 400+ hour save.
-
I used to be good at Skyrim...then I took an arrow to the Knee :'( haha no but really Skyrim is one the best fucking games I've ever played. Too bad that its taken about a year of my life in "Loading" time.
-
41? Pussy. 67. 8)
"third char."
I have a 72 Destruction Mage and a 63 Archer Assassin.
I'm working on my warrior at the moment. Full Dragonplate and dragonbone war axes.
I have too much free time..
-
So far for me Skyrim is the best thing too. I know i am only short on playing the game but, fuck me. Even when you are selecting your talent trees and see the fucking nebulae i was like HOLY SHIT!.
Once again, thanks for all the advice. I will do whatever it takes to level up quickly.
I did start again as a High Elf but then i thought, ah magic, it might be a bit complicated for my first time so im thinking about being a human again.
-
Morrowind. Is that not an old game??
-
lol i hate it when i get stuck miles away piling up dragon bone's. it always happens to me im such a hoarder, my draws are brimming with useless shit i thought was cool at one point or another but is now utterly useless, yet i feel sentimentally attached to it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vcx6UbMCtfI

I have the exact same problem, I just make Lydia carry all my shit. Sentimentally attached to her also lol. Although its a bit of a panic attack when you lose your companion- you know, the one carrying all your stuff and they wont turn up anywhere. Happened to me i think on To Kill an Empire... lost Lydia for a good while, and nothing worked to get her back. Then she randomly showed up one day to my great relief.

I hardly ever use companions, prefer soloing it.

yes morrowind came out ten years ago but is up there with baldur's gate 2, witcher 2, and planescape torment as one of the greatest rpgs of all time. the dynamics of play are far better, deeper, more exploration oriented and less grindy than oblivion/skyrim, plus it's just way more fucking fun. if you're worried about playing with a dated interface/graphics, there are easy to install mods that'll make it look amazing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d69wYi3_LWo
also this is a good read if you've played oblivion/skyrim interested in playing morrowind http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Differences_Between_Morrowind,_Oblivion,_and_Skyrim
I was worried about Skyrim become another GRIND, but it is okay so far. I think i figured out where i went wrong.
In the beginning when the castle gets attacked by the dragon i realised you have to follow this guy to go and get help.
For some reason this didnt happen to me with the other character. I dunno maybe i was playing it too drunk or something.
Anyways im giving my high elf a go, fuck it, i hate spending money on games and it just ends up being wasted.
Thanks once again everyone.

Do you have the Dawnguard expansion?
That vampire chick is an awesome companion. Raising the dead and shit. AND she doesn't get in the way...much.
-
LOL i DL'd the complete package along with the expansion pack not knowing what it is.
Sounds super cool though!. 8)
-
fuck yeah skyrim ~~

Im level 70 ;D just do the "transcending the mundane" quest with the septimus sigmus dude all the way in the north. After you do the whole entire quest you will get a book where you can read it and boost 5 levels in either "attack" which would be your blocking, one handed, two handed,ect... "sneak" which would be archery,sneak,pickpocket,ect... or "magic" which would be all of your destruction,illusion,ect... and what you have to do is get the book go to your house and interact with the bookshelf.Whenever you are picking the book you want to put on the bookshelf pick the book that you got from sigmus and read it then DONT exit out! DO NOT exit you have to put the book on to the bookshelf after reading it! Then you pick up the book and it will open it choose the "Dont read now" option and you will be carrying it again. You then do it all over again you do the interact with bookshelf you read it to gain 5 levels and then put it on the bookshelf then you put it on the bookshelf.Over and over until all levels are 100! Goodluck it gets kind of boring when you kill dragons in 1 hit and nothing can hurt you!
