Title: Would SR User Bond (Refundable) stop the attack?
Post by: NW Nugz on May 01, 2013, 02:26 am
If you have to pay like $20 (refundable) to be a member here, would that fix the attack?

Just a thought. Happy to hear why it is a bad idea.

What would that do? to my knowledge, ddos attack is basically repeatedly pinging/connecting to the site. There would be a URL even if it was paid access.

Heh I thought for a minute you were offering ransom money to the attacker.
No, unfortunately that would not fix the attack since the attacker doesn't need to be a user, it could be anyone.

I guess I'm thinking we separate the marketplace from the log-in so it might be hard to log in, but, once logged in, only logged in users can use the Marketplace. I'm definitely not tech savvy about this.
