I have only been a member of these forums for a couple of months and have watched this one to try to evualate a vendors credibility.
I think we could over vendors, buyers and others a bit more curtesy.
Many of the threads end up being a flaming war, sometimes between people who are neither buyers or the vendor. The system is quite slow and I dont wont to read the clash of the egos.
As soon as a new vendor starts, he is swooped upon like a flock of seagulls on a chip.
The usual suspects start asking the vendor questions.
Some appear reasonable, but many are just timewasting, by people with no intention to buy. Can I have an extra photo. Turn the other cheek. Then the vendor gets fed up and stops answering, and is savaged in the forum, not just by the person asking the questions, but by two or three others.
If they dont comment in the forum, they are savaged. I can understand a vendor not wanting to be in forums, he might not want to accidentally give any details away. Or he might have a life unlike me, spending all night in the forums.
Then there is all the speculation about wether they are a scammer comparing them to the great scam of 2009 when Captain Jack Sparrow got 2000 bitcoin. Very few of these comments are from people who have placed orders, or have waited a significant amount of time. Remember we are not dealing with the worlds greatest supply chain, various government mail services, and people trying to sell an illegal product. So orders are going to be slow. I think I once received a Xmas card from Canada in August (postmarked Dec). So please be patient.
Just a brief comment placed order, vendor answered queries well. No good anticipating a scam or a great vendor.
Then if you have waited a considerable time say 10 days for domestic, and have had no joy negotiating with vendor, that is when you can put in comment, but please contact vendor first, he may reship or satisfy you. That is the type of info that will affect my ordering.
And one person pointing out heaps of Finalising Early, comments that look written by the same hand, or strange timings eg deliveries one day after first listing. We are not dumb do not need things repeated, only comment if something new to say.
And vendors some of your self written answers are so obvious (I know If I became a vendor I would do a couple). Get someone else to write them, as long as they are honest and not totally over the top, eg best cocaine ever made, guaranteed, just a reasonably honest review of your product.
And for established vendors, they all have a few off days go away for a while or just screw up, perhaps a little more leeway could be given, although late delivery, no comms for a week is worthwhile knowing. And read the threads, you can see patterns for most of the vendors, some go missing for a couple of days then catch up. Some have periods where they ship late. Read the thread then you know what to expect.
With the slowness of this server this would greatly reduce the amount of pages we need to go through to try to work out if a vendor meets our requirements. I know my requirements are pretty simple, I dont care how long it takes as long as it is delivered (even 30+ days). Where I live cocaine is 400 per g and Meth 100 per point, so I am trying to reduce the cost, if I really need something for the weekend (very rare, can do without), I bite the bullet and buy local. I know some people want quick delivery but I dont think that can ever be guaranteed, we have to allow vendors to have a live, and be able to make a mistake without it being being broadcast to the community. Good way of driving them off.
And I think there is very little need to get abusive except for obvious scammers (JabberFuckyLover - he got me), I think nearly all the vendors are trying the hardest in a highly risk job for them. They all mightn't work to the strict rules of SR but hey, if they deliver eventually I am happy, and you can tell from this forums, if you can scan out the meaningless posts (like this one) and see if orders never arrive with no compensation, they are consistently/intermittently late, they have worked in the military and work to clockwork.
Even after examining the forums it is sometimes difficult to see if a vendor (particularly new vendors) meets your needs, you just have to jump in and place a small order and see how it goes.
I have tried 3 new vendors - one was a scam and the other two delivered
I have tried 1 trusted vendor - he matched the pattern of his thread, and delivered bonus but late.
So a 66% sucess rate for new vendors is pretty good, give them a go , not a hard time.
And the trusted vendors are predictable.
So please can be civil to the vendors and other buyers and keep these rumour mills based on facts not egos and opinion. This would make it much easier to decide on purchases.
And a thank-you for Vortexmilkman for providing the sustenance to last through this post.
Sun is coming up, hours nap then hey! ho! off to work
