I was wondering why there are huge differences in mail delivery times.
For example, last month an order from Mitanox was mailed from NL on a Monday and arrived in Canada the following Friday. That's 5 days.
Another order from Enboom mailed from the US on a Monday arrived also the following Friday. 5 days too.
But I've had cases where two separate orders from California took almost 3 weeks to arrive in Canada. That was back in February and it wasn't through SR though. It was an online shop selling salvia. It was mailed First-Class Mail International.
Also an order from the US (davidd) took 12 days to be delivered.
What are the probable causes of such differences?
Crass incompetence by USPS?
Just asking out of curiosity...

Everybody is moving slower in California....there out in the sun playing and/or high.

From what I understand, letters and packages are processed differently.
In addition, it comes down to the workforce in the various areas and their workload at any given point in time. There are seasonal adjustments. There are weather modifiers. There are local conditions at each end and in between. There's availability on passenger and freight planes (and surface transport sometimes)
All these contribute to a huge standard deviation in when any two packages are mailed and when they're delivered.

Have you seen the people at the post office? Fuckin mutants - all of em!
Check this story out about a postal worker who put his own poo in his mouth - to spit it out at a cop! If that ain't poetic justice...

I never understood why the USPS gets a bad rap. There's alot of veterans that work for the postal service because they get extra points on the application test. And remember those that "went postal". I wouldn't call them "mutants" to their face.
