Title: Anyone Know where to buy Peyote Buttons??
Post by: ToadStool on May 06, 2013, 04:48 pm
I love the synthetic mescaline that is available from time to time on the road but I never see Peyote offered for sale. Does anyone know of a source (other than the Native American Church) where a regular Joe can buy buttons? If you do, please let me know. Thanks.

I too would be interested. The closest I've seen on the Road are San Pedro cactus seeds, which I'm fairly sure can be purchased on the clearnet and are legal in Canada. I've been considering it because (a) cacti are sweet-looking and (b) I'll probably want some mescaline in 5 years, sure. My two reservations are that the mescaline-generating processes are dependent on the plant's genetics and environment. Do any of you know if ordinary San Pedro cactus seeds will yield sufficient potency on a windowsill 6000 km away from the Andes?

Yeah, you can grow cactus from seed but it takes forevvvverrrr. You may want to try to find some rooted cuttings and plant them instead. Much shorter grow time but still takes a long time to produce plants big enough to harvest. And, by the time they get that big, you'll be loving the way they look too much to wack them all up. Actually, if I were going to grow cactus I'd try to find and plant some peyote seeds. As for San Pedro cactus aka Trichocereus pachanoi (syn Echinopsis pachanoi), try to find the other specie Trichocereus peruviana (Peruvian Torch Cactus) which contains a lot more alkaloids than pachanoi. Sometimes you can find websites in Peru that sell cuttings of peruviana for a decent price but it still gets too expensive to get enough to extract any serious amounts of mescaline.

That was super helpful, thanks. My partner loves collecting cacti (as far as I know they're all inert)- I'd have a tough time explaining why her big, beautiful, beloved cactus is half-missing and I'm not hungry enough for lunch.
