Title: Do shipments arrive on weekends?
Post by: libertyfreedom92 on December 30, 2011, 06:17 pm
I ordered on Tuesday and the approximated shipping is 4-7 days US (from Dopeboy). Has anyone ever received their shipment on a weekend? I gotta keep a lookout because the last thing i need is my mom or my dad getting the letter.

Oh boy.....do you normally get mail on Saturday?   Most of us do....but by this time next year that could be NO but that's another topic.   Also I don't know what country you live in.  Here in the USA.....there is normal mail delivery tomorrow on NYE.   There will be NO MAIL delivery on monday January 2nd.  Good Luck

Yes shipments do arrive on the weekends. In fact depending on what service you purchased when shipping its possible to receive mail from the USPS on Sunday. (Express mail in some cases is delivered on Sunday and even some holidays)

I know it looks like you guys are all referring to the US but you would absolutely laugh if you had the postal service we have down under in Australia. Not only do they NOT deliver on the weekend (Sat or Sun) but they have short opening hours even during the week (especially Friday) and they even seem to invent their own public holidays. Yes it is a complete farce down here but we all have been brought up to expect this so it doesn't actually seem out of the ordinary.

When I first heard about mail delivery on the weekends I almost thought people were having me on.

In remote areas Australia Post don't even do their own deliveries - they contract them out to god knows whoever and it's not uncommon to see a bunch of mail lying on the ground metres from the postbox. Looks like the contractor tried to chuck the letters from the driver's seat but missed and to hell with getting out of the car to pick 'em up as that would probably contravene some form of health and safety regulations. Yes, it is that bad down here.

Also, I was under the impression that it is a federal crime to open mail not addressed to you (and that includes Mum & Dad)?? Is this not the case?
