Hi guys, currently on OSX and accustomed to it for the past couple of years however have experience with Windows.
I wanted to ask, which is best for total security on SR such as encryption, and all these things, lets assume that I want to protect my self from LE, or key-loggers and basic security stuff, better yet I would prefer to compile a list of all the absolute necessary for each, so can we try to add a few as we go alone with this topic?
I believe it will not only me, but a great majority of SR users here also.
Currently: OSX - FileVault 2 , GPG2 and basic antivirus.
Bear in mind, I tend to do some research via TOR, but this system is solely used for SR and related research so chances of picking up shit along the way, I think are pretty slim.
So lets see what security tools/applications we can add to our MAC and Windows list.

For OS-X you can try "Little Snitch" http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html
But over all it's imho to much hassle (especially in times of "the cloud") trying to secure OS-X or Windows (for illicit stuff).
It's still closed source.
Better buy a small notebook and use a linux live cd!
