Wondering if there are any vendors with contacts in India to help me get generic Gleevec/Glivec (Imatinib mesylate).
My father in law was diagnosed with Leukemia 2 months ago. The copay for Gleevec is US$2,300 per month. He qualified for US$500 of assistance (1 time, not every month). Even with us pooling our money with my brother-in-law, we cannot afford it.
According to the NY Times, India just upheld a ruling allowing generics of Gleevec. It supposedly sells for US$200 a month, but I can't find a source. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/02/bu...tent.html?_r=0
Are there any vendors with connections in India?

Plenty of vendors based in India. Find out who they are by setting your location on the main site to India, then ticking the 'Domestic only' option.
In fact I just did it, and found this guy DoctorFreedom: http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/user/53443ab0a7
From his profile:
1. We have warehouses in US, UK, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany and India! So we can ship safe and fast to anywhere!
And
6. We have huge inventory, so if you are looking for something specific, we probably have it. First take a look here, http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/item/411098b920 and if it's not there write us please.
Search and you will find!!
(Note I have never used him, nor do I know anything about him)

Hi Frank,
Thank you so much for the information! Great idea to change my location to India! It worked and I have identified a few Indian vendors, too.

You can not look at the cheap generic prices of Indian Pharmacy's.
9 out of 10 Pharmacy's will say they don't have the generic medicine at stock so they can sell to you the medicine from the free market.
You will be paying 25 to 30 times more then the official price set by the Indian government.
Producers can not sell free market medicine if they don't sell cheap generics too.
Those cheap generics are for the poor people of India, with a prescription.
But it's hard to find to find those cheap generic medicine.
For those cheap prices at least.
Even if you are local and have a prescription.
If you are serious interested, I an give a pdf over the availebillety of cheap generics and prices (ceiling) , maximum prices for generics.
But indeed there are pharmacy's that do sell cheap.
In google maps you can look for Pharmacy's in Mumbay or Delhi or any major city and search for Pharmacy.
Then look again if the pharmacy has a site or at least a email address where you can write to.
You can even take a look with google streetview.
It can give you a indication if they will sell or not.
Go for the cash on delivery (cod) option.
Never pay 20 or 30 dollar just for delivery.
Cheap prices for the medicine and high prices for the shipment , don't look no good to me either.
Stay away from the western union scammers, and go for the cod option.
Enough who have only the cash on delivery option.
Those I like.
No other way then to pay the postman.
Only cod, no paypall, visa or let alone western union.
Don't look at those cheap prices as means to be able to buy those medicine.
Pharmacy's do have to mention those prices by law.
Doesn't mean they will sell it for those prices.
But for 25 times or 30 times the amount of Indian Rupee you do have better chances.
My guess is that if you have 30 pharmacy's there will be 3 with the cheap generic medicine and they will sell only on base of a prescription.
Appearently all cheap generics are controled substances, like the opiods or opiates are in the West
I thought it was New Delhi where 400 pharmacy's did not have their papers right.
The fda (food drug administration) handed out a lot of penalty's, and stubborn pharmacy's were be closed just as a example, or lost their license.
