Title: Considering selling BTC - need beta testers
Post by: poundsign on June 04, 2012, 04:56 am
Guys,

I am considering selling BTC.  If you want to test run this with me let me know.

There are two ways that I'm considering doing this:

- Deposit to bank account -
The way this works:
*) You message me asking to buy worth of BTC (minimum $100)
*) I reply with an offer: Deposit $123.45 at Wells Fargo account number 12345 with the name Jim Smith   (no lectures please - appropriate safety precautions are in place even though I don't describe them here)
*) You walk in to the bank and deposit cash.  You do not need to present ID to do this but you would be on camera.
*) You mail me deposit confirmation
*) I transfer you BTC 12 hours later

- Western Union / Moneygram -
The way this works:
*) You message me asking to buy BTC (minimum $100)
*) I reply with an offer: "Deposit $123.45 to western union to jim smith in san diego, ca"
*) You go to western union and give them $123.45 in cash.   WU sometimes asks for ID, sometimes not.  If keeping off the radar is important t you then you could use a fake name then tell them your ID is at home, leave and go to another branch.
*) There is a western union fee here which you are responsible for, about 5%
*) Send me the transaction number off the receipt
*) I pick up the money next morning
  *) I transfer you BTC

Notes:
*) This is a beta test and I do not guarantee speed so if you are in a hurry you should look elsewhere.
*) For the purpose of this trial I am selling at $6/BTC.
*) There is nothing illegal about buying BTC so the legal risk for the buyer is minimal.
*) In either scenario you can give them cash without identifying yourself so you are completely off the record and absolutely anonymous.
*) I do not care what your buyer stats are.  You have to trust me as a vendor that I am not going to cheat you but my reputation will act as my word.

I was wandering have you considered accepting green dot money paks?  Lots of different debit cards accept green dot money paks and you can add the money online after someone gives you the number from their card. Within 5 minutes, you could see the money on your debit card and be able to go spend it or with drawl it. Walmart debit cards let you withdraw it for free when you buy something like a pack of gum.

But you could have the money on your debit card in 5 minutes then transfer bit coin instantly. You could easily charge 6 bucks per coin if it's instant. People would jump all over you

I have seen others doing that but I don't think it is for me.  Adding money to the debit card in my name is too close to home for me (though I don't want to disclose my security measures, the two methods I have listed are substantially far from having a link to me).

If I am missing something let me know, I'm open to any ideas that look safe by my standards.

well yea that's why I mentioned it because how will you accept a bank deposit or money grams while still being secure aware? If you can open a bank account with fake info then you should be able to do so with a simple debit card. I guess it would be hard trying to explain to the IRS where that money came from and where it went hahaha just throwing in some BS pound sign
