Title: australian scammers?
Post by: markwest on March 05, 2012, 11:54 pm
on most items the vendor will say that they cant refund or reship to oz, and at minimum they require fe from oz customers. they say that its because they have had a lot of people from oz scamming and saying their products didnt arrive. why is it assumed these people are scamming, rather than oz customs doing their job properly or a clever postie getting greedy?

Not sure, there are good vendors on here that have no probs shipping to Aus, with escrow.

None of my shipments to Aus have been confiscated. All of them have gotten to their final destinations and all were in escrow.

Think about it from their point of view for one second. If you were to ship an international order and their borders were on the ball would you reship or refund in the off chance that it was confiscated?
You sent it in good faith remember..

Escrow to Aus will be rare. It will only be offered by vendors that have lots of product that was relatively cheap for them to buy.

on the flip side you will have vendors saying it was shipped and "it must have got seized" and...badluck.

Move on.

Those who think they will continually get orders without one getting seized are kidding themselves.

Why assume that these people are scamming?? look around this forum.... hardly any aussie gets their product seized. Just ask them!!
but yeah assuming somebody is a scammer because they didnt get the product is as bad as assuming a vendor never shipped it LOL

On the money mate! After my first couple didnt arrive I did get a bit paranoid, but then the next 20+ came with no drama's! You win some you lose some, we are buying drugs after all. How many times have you bought from a f2f dealer, only to be really disappointed?

NC WTF your a hero member now? Not in my eyes cunt! ;)

i would also like to think most of us here in aus are honest chaps who were brought up better than that... i mean shit, its hard enough getting gear here as it is, than to have vendors choosing not to send to us at all.. just because of a few scamming dogs.

i think at the end of the day, us guys with a clean refund rate have our favorite dealers who we have built a good rapport with, and stick to them.. :D

Great point mate, I think the scammers do fuck us over. As soon as I receive my package I make sure the vendor knows. But I have also heard domestically Aussies have claimed not to receive something and to me that is bullshit! Aust Post is average at best and most dont care a fuck. Domestic product not arriving is by a scammer imo.

I hate to interrupt this little love fest but in response to the OP's 1st post I would be interested to know which vendors are actually claiming that Aussies are scamming them? Are they saying it in their profiles or is this something going on via PM?

I mean, of course it's possible that this is happening to a degree but it should be no more than any other country and we are dying down here in Oz so I really would be surprised if widespread scamming is actually going on. We'd be shooting ourselves in the foot!

We've seen that some people come back on here after receiving a 'love letter' but that is due mainly to pharms (and some RC's). We really don't know what happens to the illegal drugs that are detected but I very much doubt after finding an illegal substance that customs will forward it on. :)

So if these packages are being seized with no notice then it would seem to BOTH sides that the other one is scamming them but I think the 'scam' word is thrown around a little too often.

I personally believe that mail is rarely lost these days (ie: lost in the true sense of the word) but would rather hazard a guess that it is more often removed from the postal system by somebody or something. Could be a crooked mailman, could be customs, the feds, AQIS, your next door neighbour or even someone in the source country?

Australian customs do have a bit of a puzzling reputation as being one of the best but I'm not sure this is completely deserved as a lot of people are getting things through but reputation alone definitely shouldn't be the sole reason a vendor won't ship down under but anyway as others have said look for a vendor that is happy to ship to Oz and is happy to work within the ESCROW system. Yes, it will cut your options down a bit but it's this or put your money out there and hope for the best. There really should be no reason NOT to send to Australia if the customer is willing to shoulder the burden unless of course the vendor doesn't ship overseas at all.

Oh and also don't forget our local vendors. I know they are a bit scarce on the ground atm but always keep an eye out.
