Title: Silk Road IRC?
Post by: drugfather on January 09, 2012, 08:42 am
I just wonder why there's no IRC for Silk Road yet... There are plenty of implementations of security that can be done server side for IRC servers....

anyway...

Just wondering!

Jabber chat server over Tor only safe way to go. IRC unless you know what you're doing is a huge mistake. Remember all the LulzSec IRC room OPS that got picked up last summer?

My exact point... If you know what you're doing there are certain precautions that can be taken Client and Server side to prevent tracking of individual... Plus you can run an irc server on tor. The port options are there (via socks proxy)

How does DCC chat work over tor though? I know it slices through proxies to get at your orig IP is this any different over tor? Unless you're running VirtualBox with an inner IP of 10.0.2.15 or something could be dangerous for anybody accepting DCC
