Title: Encrypt bitcoin.org wallet
Post by: arizonaicetea7 on September 29, 2012, 12:07 am
Sorry.  I know, I know.  Just use the search.  Well I did.  And I'm still posting.

There was a post about how to encrypt messages.  Simple.  And with pictures.  Step 1, step 2, step 3, etc.

Great!  Worked like a charm.

So now I'm looking for a similar tut for encrypting my bitcoin.org wallet.  Nada.

Anyone know how to do this and can break it down, step by step, for the rest of us mere mortals?

Use blockchain.info for your wallet instead. Higher level of security, and you can send bitcoins anonymously which is what you're looking for.
I just wrote a nice step by step guide for all kinds of questions you might have. Here:

Just as an FYI, blockchain.info does appear to require Java to operate.

Guru

I use blockchain.info only via the TOR browser and it works for me. I thought that the TOR browser automatically disables JAVA, so how can my wallet function if blockchain.info requires JAVA?
