Title: advice for first time BTC buyer in us
Post by: TheNerd on February 27, 2012, 07:48 am

hi hi hi. ive never bought bitcoins before and was hoping for a little help on ways to do it with the highest possible degree of anonymity. ive noticed the big legitimate bitcoin vendors (Mt Gox, etc. ) require some personal information which is nottttt happening...

are there other sites worth trying out? i've heard get-bitcoin is ok.

also what actually happens upon receipt of the bitcoins? how do i go about transferring them to an SR account?

thx for helping a nooblet.

There's a couple BTC sellers where you can actually make cash deposits at a bank. That's anonymous. Others take western union, also anonymous up to a certain amount.

You have several choices as for how to get them to SR.

If you do cash deposits, you could technically have the seller send them directly to your SR wallet, by giving them that address on the payment stub. However, you want more layers of obfuscation.

My recommendation:

- Get the bitcoin software
- Configure bitcoin to run through TOR
- Create a one time wallet in your bitcoin software
- Buy BTC by cash counter deposit or western union, have the seller send it to your bitcoin wallet that you're running through TOR
- Once the transaction is confirmed, send the coins to your SR wallet
- Once that transfer is confirmed, delete that wallet

That was the "quick guide" :)

If you look around in the forums you can find the sellers that take cash deposits. Or you can just google "Buy bitcoin pay cash"
