Title: Turning retail giftcards into BitCoins. Pluasible?
Post by: MrCloudedGaze on December 20, 2012, 12:16 am
I have a bunch of giftcards to major US retailers, does anyone know how common this practice is? I can buy a new giftcard and send it via email, it is irreversible and the recipient can cash out giftcards online for around 90% of their value in paypal or check in the mail. Is there a group or market somewhere that does this sort of thing?

Check out bitmit.net, where you can sell stuff for bitcoins.

Haven't used it myself, but I've done some investigation, and it seems like the most legitimate option.

I've sold some gift card codes before, selling the physical cards might be overkill depending on the card.  Usually codes can be automatically used, and verified while the card itself can be used with out looking to be tampered with or even looking 'used' - it of course depends on the type of thing.  If you had an in with the chinese trader that is still churning out fake US codes for 10 / 20 / 500 USD in the itunes store, you could make a killing with those ( the codes are legit ).
