Title: Need some advice on concealing and shipping (non drug related) contraband.
Post by: mr9mm on December 21, 2011, 10:06 am
I am trying to ship some non drug related contraband OUT of the united states.
What I am shipping is not necessarily illegal in the USA but it is illegal in the country where I am shipping to.
It may not be illegal in the USA but if someone ( in the USA) were to find I am concealing it then it would raise a lot of questions.
The items are 98% plastic. My idea was to open up the back of a new television and hide the contraband inside the TV.

My questions is will delivery services like UPS, FED-EX, AraMax etc Xray a new television leaving the USA?

I am 99% sure the country I am shipping to does not Xray but I am not sure about going out of the states. I would assume that the Americans are more concerned with contraband coming IN rather than going OUT.

The final questions I have are how should I ship the televisions?

Is it a good idea to hide contraband inside a television? Or are there better alternatives.

Is it better to ship with a private company like UPS, FED-EX or ARAMAX? That opposed to the US Postal service?

Thanks to everyone for your advice.

What are you shipping and where are you shipping it to? It's kinda hard to help when you're leaving out important details. Do you really have to hide it inside a TV? Can you use anything smaller?

Airsoft Gun parts.

Basically, this is my idea.

Break the guns down into many pieces. Ship the non descriptive parts ( barrel, screws, etc. separately with other random mechanical parts) the descriptive parts ( the parts that resemble a gun or gun parts the) I would put inside the new television and ship it via UPS, or FedEx etc.

I didn't want to mention guns even airsoft because SR people seem to be iffy about them even airsoft. Airsoft is legal in America but completely illegal where I want to ship them. I don't think they would xray a television but if they did they would find gun parts and even if they are airsoft they will still cause problems.
