Title: Did Virwox Rip Me Off?
Post by: keldog09 on February 21, 2012, 04:12 pm
Since I play Second Life once in a while I decided to start using Virwox for my BTC needs. I've transferred a variety of currencies and everything's been fine until now. They sent me an email telling me that my BTC order was processed at like 3:30 PM yesterday and my coins still aren't there more than 12 hours later.

Has this happened to anyone else or am I just being inpatient? I was under the impression that BTC only took about four to five hours to process over the BTC network.

Once every few orders they do a 'manual verification' of an order. This can take up to 24 hours. If the funds were transferred via PayPal it can even take up to 3 days. If this is the case it is displayed in the order status.

Before you blame anyone, check this site:

https://blockexplorer.com/address/[PUT HERE THE ADDRESS WHERE YOU ORDERED THE COINS TO]

It can tell you whether the money was sent to the blockchain or not.
If wasn't: Ask Virwox why
If it was: Ask the recipient why

Thanks a ton!!! I ended up getting my coins so this was a good comfort.

That was the odd thing... It showed my order status as completely filled when it wasn't. Oh technology...
