If I were to hypothetically sell someone a pirated burned movie how could it be tracked back to my computer?
-
Im not sure but i think the only identifiable info they could pull from the disc would be the porgram used, and maybe the make and model of your dvd burner
-
I think a better question is why would anybody pay for a burned copy of a movie lol

The same reason people pay for fake coupons and preloaded USB sticks on here. Some people are lazy and would rather pay for services than perform them their self.

someone was selling (well trying to sell) a 15 min porno for almost 2btc the other day...
for 2btc you'd hope it includes IRL happy ending....
-
so is there a simple way to protect my identity if I did sell copyrighted material?
-
What's there to protect? You were already told that there wont be identifying information on the DVD.
-
Let's say for example I download a file to my computer burn it on a dvd and sell that dvd to someone; is there a way to trace it back to my computer?

No. Not just by analyzing the DVD.
