Title: GNU Privacy assistant
Post by: streetmagic on January 21, 2013, 06:40 pm
Someone sent me a message encrypted using PGP and I am trying to read it using the aforementioned program.

I must be doing something wrong. What I have done is copy and paste the message onto the programs "clipboard" function. Then I highlight the text and hit "decrypt".

Every time it just says "Clipboard contained no OPENPGP data".

What am I doing wrong?

I really hope this doesn't get buried under a bunch of "post count building" nonsense.

Try googeling the error you got. I don't use pgp so I can't help you but I feel for you so that's why i'm posting here so it gets a bump aswell :S

You need to include the whole message including the header and footer. If you don't include those then the message won't be detected, and can't be automatically decrypted.

Figured it out yesterday. Forgot to mention for anyone interested. To be short and to the point, just make sure you always have the proper default key set when trying to decrypt.
