Ok, so I am new (yay).
I have read the forums somewhat and intend on making my first purchase(s) next week. I have two questions regarding security:
1) I have tried libertie linux (I use ubuntu normally), but the proxy has always given me issues with accessing the site. As a result, I'm using my regular ubuntu with ToR (Vidallia) on a truecrypted partition. Would this suffice? The only worrisome part seems to be that my MAC address is not spoofed. I
2) I have read some on security. It seems the primary security breaches occur in the purchasing of bitcoins. If I were to go to a store, purchase bitcoins, and have them upload the funds to a wallet/account, would that not give my identity away since I have to give identification once I hand over the money for the transaction. Also, wouldn't sending the monies to my silkroad account be traceable? Or does this fall under "plausible denial" e.g. "I don't remember such a transaction being made" etc. ::)
Thankx,
Newb.
