Title: What was the time frame for the Freedom Hosting exploit?
Post by: SmokesHisBroccoli on August 06, 2013, 03:18 am
I've been reading some of these threads for awhile and still can't wrap my head around the time frame of this Freedom Hosting java exploit.

I've read people saying that it only mattered if you tried accessing one of the FH sites in the past few days.  Then I've read people saying you could have visited a FH site before then and still have been exposed to the exploit.

Does anyone know when exactly the exploit started and stopped?  When's the first time you could have been exposed and is it over?

Details still emerging, so it's uncertain. It appears to have only affected Tor users with outdated browsers on Windows. If that fits you, then I'd recommend immediately switching to the latest version of Tails.

I think the timing is sometime over the past week.
