Title: Is Electrum the best Bitcoin wallet to use?

Do you still use it, have you had any major issues with it?
Are there any other e-wallets you may be able to suggest?

I use Electrum Wallet because I use TAILS for DeepNet browsing and it's the only wallet for which I've found detailed instructions on installing. Check here: dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=94939.0

Be smart. Play safe. Use TAILS.

I just got around to running Tails finally, and installed electrum. When I click on the "Electrum Bitcoin Wallet" icon, the electrum.desktop file opens up though. So I don't think that is right?

I would try rereading the tutorial, it's very straightforward. You probably just skipped over a step. I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say  "electrum.desktop file" Do you mean a window that has /home/amnesia/.electrum/.electrum.dat pops up? If so you're good you just need to create a wallet and then connect to a server. You could always start from scratch if need be, but the tutorial is amazingly straightforward.
