Title: CBS Evening News top story on Molly
Post by: DrMDA on September 03, 2013, 12:37 am
So I'm watching CBS Evening News right now and one of their top segments was introduced as "The new designer drug Molly and why it is so dangerous". I didn't even know where to start with all their mistakes. I'm waiting for the segment to start to see what other stupidity they have to preach.

Been hearing people talk about this a lot where I live. "Molly" is now taking a huge hit and people who are none-the-wiser and now looking at it and its users badly here. Its always some bullshit news story with incorrect information that gets people talking and starts rumors.

And Electric Zoo doesn't give a shit about doing toxicology reports because in their eyes its still an illegal drug and they don't care if they affect the reputation of said drug.

Ugh, it's fucking pathetic.
They tell the people what they want to hear. They want to hear what the Government tell them they should be hearing.
MDMA is not even dangerous. Yes, it's dangerous when taken in large quantities, just like paracetamol or thousands of other drugs.

If people were educated about drug use and they knew how much to take, to drink plenty of water, etc, there would never be any problems.
Alcohol is legal and it is far more problematic.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone could try MDMA. But they are fearful of it. I have met people who were scared of being near drugs. Weed even.
I was at a party a while ago and a couple of the people there had never even smoked weed and when I pulled out about 2gm of weed, they were shocked and wanted to get far away from it.
They reacted as if it was a weapon and was out to hurt them. No matter how much you explain it to some people, they will never realise a lot of drugs are actually less harmful than alcohol

Well, the studies are still pointing toward possible neurotoxicity just from regular doses within too short a time frame. But for the most part, exactly what you're saying.

Exactly, exactly, exactly. How much do you want to bet the recent festival deaths were at least partially related to dehydration? Or mixing drugs?

+1

Exactly. Yes MDMA may be neurotoxic, but other drugs damage other parts of the body too.
From what I understand, MDMA is soft on the liver & kidneys, unlike alcohol or paracetamol.
