Title: Is there any need to logout of SR when exiting the Tor browser?
Post by: ultroping2435 on December 07, 2012, 03:39 am
Is closing the browser enough? I figured Tor would delete any cookies/cache/incriminating evidence on exit but I just want to be sure. Sorry for the noob question.

If you close the browser without logging out the worst that will happen is your session will eventually expire (not sure what the time-out rule is on SR).

Your browser authenticates to the site with that cookie.  By deleting it you're just forcing yourself to log back in if you revisit the site.

The only down fall to not logging out is that the session remains open on the SR server side.  This doesn't really matter because no one else has that cookie.

This is what I always thought as well, but I almost always logout just to be sure.
