just tried to using TOR and couldn't get on at all
went over to a laptop using foxfire regular and connected with no hesitation
must be the tor connection but i swear i signed up for an acct using TOR - might just be the last relay is somewhere localbitcoins doesn't want to do business, maybe astor can step in ... seems to know his stuff
-
Yes it does! I have been doing for a long time.
-
same problem here. i am trying to log in but it refuses to let me in. i have, however just logged in through firefox with the same details without problems!
-
Isn't it risky to login to a clearnet site like localbitcoins via Tor? Wouldn't it be better to use an anonymous vpn for this?
pb.

I connect to my localbitcoin account via Tor to transfer my coins to a different wallet just fine...
-
not sure what the problem was last night, just logged into localbitcoins using TOR, on the first attempt
-
I'm pretty sure localbitcoins has some but not all tor exit nodes blocked.
They probably don't block all of them, just the ones that abusive traffic comes from.
Just keep hitting "New Identity" in vidalia. You'll get it eventually.

I think it pays to be cautious here. No one knows at what level localbitcoins is cooperating with LE. They could be maintaining a list of users who only sign in via TOR (the exit nodes are well documented online.) From there, it'd only be a matter of flagging accounts with suspicious activity. Just saying, don't draw unnecessary attention to yourself :-X

TOR is allowed and completely accepted. Traders are notified if a buyer is using TOR so they can decide whether or not to sell coin to the tor user.

i resorted to making a new account, that worked for me.

That's a little nugget of knowledge I was not aware of. Thanks for that :)
