Is it possible to go to a store and load up one of those greendot cards and use that to load up at Mt.Gox or something, has anyone ever done it?
I know you can use the card without getting it personalized in your name. So if it'd work it'd be an extra layer of anonymity. Or would you guys say it isn't necessary?

I too had a look into this, but currently as it stands (due to vast amounts of credit card fraud) 99% of the bitcoin companies will not accept pre-paid credit/debit cards of any form. Most will simply ask for Western Union or a Wire transfer/cash deposit.
For now pre-paid CC's are not used (that I'm aware of). In saying that, going to a bank anywhere in your state, making a cash deposit straight into the BC company account and then tumbling your BC's via wesbites like BitFog (for a maximum 3% fee) will secure your anonymity. Remember - bitcoins are bought for perfectly legal things, the chance of the authorities using cameras to identify your face and then trace your BC's after being tumbled is close to 0. That's my understanding of it anyway.

Some exchanges accept Moneybookers (Skrill). Skrill can be preloaded with a prepaid CC, I think.
