Title: Truecrypt for Liberte?
Post by: Grabthellello on August 27, 2012, 12:48 pm
Is it possible to run Truecrypt on Liberte? You can't install it so is there a portable version that would work?

The most reliable way of using truecrypt with Liberte is to build a custom Liberte image with truecrypt installed. This has been asked many times, and apparently one guy finally decided to undergo a quest to create such a custom image:

Your best bet (and mine) is to keep up with this guy, and hope he follows through. But as said in that thread, it would need to be tested heavily before trusted use.

Thanks. That's what I was worried about. I guess I have to stick to transferring sensitive files by using PGP encryption instead of a much simpler TC volume..oh well. I'm surprised I didn't catch that thread. I've been searching like mad for some answers.
