Title: Question: Buying bitcoin from getbitcoin.
Post by: DoubleDx2 on December 09, 2011, 03:20 pm
When filling out the form on the front page, does it matter if I use any of the following:

- Fake Name
- Fake Email

Just something I couldn't find an answer to yet.

- Fake Name

You can put down whatever you like, such as your nickname on SR.

- Fake Email

You want to put down a valid email address. The reason is that GetBitcoin will email you when they have received your order, when they are processing your order, and when you have more bitcoins in your wallet.

I would highly recommend NOT putting your SR name. Any ties to SR when buying bitcoins is a bad idea, it just makes it easier to prove that you are buying bitcoins for SR and not a legitimate use

Yeah, don't use your SR username, AND don't send your coins straight from Getbitcoin to SR.  Use an intermediate address to break the link between your Getbitcoin purchase and your SR purchases.

Finally, if you don't have an email account just for sending & receiving private correspondence, then perhaps try a disposable account at Mailinator.com  The way Mailinator works is you make up any email username and have your messages sent there.  You then can check the messages without having to log in to Mailinator or create an account.  For example, you can list your email as DoubleDx2@mailinator.com.  Then you go to Mailinator.com and check the mail that's been sent to DoubleDx2@mailinator.com.  Mailinator is great for one-time messages that aren't too confidential.

That is mostly valid, depending on how you buy your coins. Sending cash should be fine, but anything that can link you to your bitcoin order to SR is bad.

this is complained in further detail in other "get-bitcoin" threads.  Use tormail.net and run your bitcoin wallet via tor.  Don't forget to scrub the pic you email to them after cash deposit.
