Title: Bitcoin Fog ... did not go through!
Post by: scopolamine on March 26, 2012, 03:10 am
Hi everyone,

I just made my first deposit on Bitcoin Fog.

It's been 4 hours now and my account (on Bitcoin Fog) still shows an empty balance.

On the website it states that if it takes more than 2 hours, that I should contact them. So I did, I just wrote them a message and I'm waiting on their reply.

I'm getting a bit worried here because the transaction status from my wallet says: "Status: 0/offline?, has not been successfully broadcast yet"

Hopefully things are just being a bit laggy! I'll keep you guys posted, and if anyone has any experience with Bitcoin Fog, please feel free to chime in.

Never had issues with them, does the transaction to them show confirmed or not? I've always used wallet->bitcoin fog.

I know this doesnt solve your current problem, but i have had great luck using the bitinstant and mtgox combo.  Maybe consider using if your problems doesnt resolve or persists.

Nope! The money is GONE from my wallet, and my Bitcoin Fog balance is still at 0.00. It's been 8 hours since I made the deposit and I have yet to receive a reply from support.

This shit is NOT cool.

When I search the address I sent it to with blockexplorer, the page is blank and states: "Never used on the network (as far as I can tell)"

What the flying fuck????????

There's your error, figure out why your bitcoin client isn't talking to the bitcoin network.

I think I found it. I had "Connect through SOCKS4 Proxy" checked.

The moment I unchecked it, my wallet started downloading blocks, and eventually finished downloading them and a green checkmark appeared.

However, there's still a question mark next to the transaction, it still says 0/unconfirmed, and the blockexplorer is still showing up blank.

Is it going to start running on its own or do I have to do something? Is there a way to "resend" it?

Where are the bitcoins if they are not in my wallet nor in the network?????

Fuck, I hope I didn't just lose all my money because some jackass told me that checking the SOCKS4 proxy option makes the wallet more secure.

Okay... nevermind. The transaction started rolling all of a sudden.

Anyway, fuck whoever recommended checking the SOCKS4S proxy.

Ehm, if you check SOCKS4 proxy you have to configure a working one, of course.

If your on TOR 127.0.0.1:9050 should work.

Yeah, that was the default option. I have no idea why it caused an interference.

Anyway, yes, my transfer made it through successfully. =)
