I had an order was scheduled to arrive today. Instead I come home and find a sorry we missed you slip.... stating that my item was sent certified mail and that I would need to schedule a redelivery... And that its currently at the post office. What should I do? Reschedule the delivery online and tell them to leave it somewhere? Clearly I'm not going to the post office to go sign for it...

Was it actually sent certified mail?

Contact the vendor and ask what shipping methods he/she used. Definitely sounds a little sketchy to me though.

Agreed, weird that the carrier didn't leave the package there unless you needed to sign for it, which is a big flag already.

While the general consensus is stay away from anything out of the ordinary, I've had this same thing happen a couple times with my drop house. Each time my guy went to the PO and simply got the package without any issues. Obviously don't go if you don't feel comfortable, but not all notices are indicative of suspicion.

Don't know if you're in the UK but I've had this 3 times. Some newer, inexperienced vendors use Signed For, recorded delivery. Or if it's been sent in a Jiffy bag & won't fit through your letter box the PO use the same slip. Just reschedule ask a neighbor to accept delivery.

I would just let it go. My freedom is worth more than whatever is in that package. Sounds like your vendor screwed up and sent the package with signature required. If that's the case, the vendor screwed up and needs to make it right.
You're my boy, Blue.

I spoke to the vendor, and at first they were like dont sign for anything. That sounds sketchy. Then like a few minutes later I got another email saying that they had accidentally sent it certified instead of delivery confirmation. OOPS. Since it was certified it was going "back to sender" after 15 days. They offered to refund my money, but I was more concerned with a package full of illegal stuff going back to a business with my address on the front. After confirming it was sent certified I arranged to get it... still waiting to see if i get arrested lol

Looks like Everything Turned Out Better Than Expected for you, buddy :)
-
it is better to pick it up, then risk them opening it if it is left at the post office
-
How do you 'accidentally' send it certified? Who is this vendor? He needs to be outed immediately.
-
Send grandma in to pick it up

Aaaand he was never heard from again. A tad startling when this happens.

True but it seems he created the account just for this post. Hopefully he just never came back to update us :/

I had this happen on a non-SR related package. It was the dumb ass mail persons fault. They had a temp worker on my route, and instead of leaving boxes, they left slips for pick up. Happened for a week straight, and this was before I was buying anything illegal (was hobby stuff)
