Title: Etimology of the "DOX" abbreviation
Post by: ValiantExplorer on November 19, 2012, 06:17 pm
I'm kinda' new around here, so I hope the following question won't surprise you too much :). I don't mind if you laugh your ass off though :D, laughing is good! :D

From what I gathered, I suppose to "dox" someone, means that you reveal one's outside-TOR identity, right? But why "dox"? What does it mean? From where does this term come from?

Oh and I searched. But "dox"... ummm... let's just say it comes up mostly in the names of chemicals :).

A-ha! :D. Thanks guys. When you list all those dox it makes it sound all the more scarier :D. I'd hate to be in THAT position. Careful or not, the most important thing is to act nicely. First of all, it's easy. Secondly, won't tempt anybody in wasting their time in "dox"-ing you, in the same time minimizing your risk. If all the people who went crazy this last period (with SR being down and all) would have known that, things would have been better (for everybody).
