Title: Safe & anonymous email service?
Post by: bananafandango on August 05, 2013, 05:54 am
Hey guys,

So with all the nasty Tormail stuff, I'm thinking I need a new account with someone else STAT. Any favorites out there?

Due to NSA mass worldwide spying collecting metadata of all emails/drafts and even just connecting to clearnet email there is no safe and anonymous service anymore until somebody makes a new .onion tormail. It's not hard to do, wouldn't cost that much to run either.

Rent a rack in Iceland, or buy a used one and ship it there to be colocated, install openbsd 5.3, run it as a secure .onion mail server with OpenSMTPD. You could write a script to send all outgoing mail through a mixmaster service and strip the outgoing IP. Incoming mail hits a bullet proof domain and then is forwarded to the hidden service over Tor via a slapped together gentoo VPS. Warn everybody they must use PGP because encrypting virtual discs on a remote server you have no control over is pointless. Charge $1 per year to use it to deter spammers. Bonus: offer alt.messages.anonymous download access via .onion too.

Failing that, do this:

Or use bitmessage
