Title: 4/20 was SR's 9/11 (or fuck all you cocaine cowboy con-men)
Post by: CrankedToEleven on May 12, 2012, 06:28 am
I fucking love blow. Just loooooove that shit. It's the best motherfucking drug ever. After years of narfing whatever the local monopoly supplier was offering (likely faux-caine), I discovered SR. It was a brisk and wonderful education, turning me into a connoisseur. Transporting me back so many years ago to being a wee lad who just discovered how to spank the lad's wee wee. Although the first time I shot my wad, I freaked the fuck out and thought I broke my dick. I digress...

In that vein, I view the founding of SR as a parallel to the American revolution and formation of our Democractic Republic (please note the US is not a true democracy). The prevailing folk wisdom is that everything is exponentially faster in the Information Age. When viewing SR's inhabitants and their actions through the prism of US history, you end up seeing the chasm between significant events (those that provoke fundamental paradigm changes) being compressed. Within roughly a year, SR has metamorphosed from a great experiment to fucking post 9/11 America.

After the metaphorical crashing of planes into SR by Tony76, the bulk of forum posts are solely dedicated to "outing" alleged enemies ("scammers"), vendors having psychotic breakdowns and spewing off tangled webs of conspirators, unseen forces breaking into their accounts, the magical, omniscient LEO fairy plucking every package out of the mail system, and insisting that they're the biggest victims of, well, everything (I'm staring at you, USD, with your sackless, simpering self-pity). It's like listening to my idiot citizens insist that all Islamics are terrorists (the more religiously garbed, the scarier they are -- maybe they think the beards release nerve gas if you set them on fire), believing that the crotch bromber and shoe solider could actually bring down a plane. All rational thought has been declared de facto illegal. And the uneducated masses gather in their echo chamber Forums to amplify and spread the ugliness like cowshit in a corn field.

Getting ripped off sucks. It's happened to me a couple of times. I've lost around US$300.00 or so on it. But there's nothing special about SR. People are conned all the time IRL. My interest in public speculation over possible explanations for the disappearance and sketchy vendors has waned. If he fucked you over, bitch about it all you want in the vendor's feedback thread. But stick to facts and the simplest, most plausible ideas. By participating in the non-stop gossip, you're letting the Tony76 terrorists win. Legit vendors are all labelled terrorists if they take just 5 minutes too long in responding to a paranoid, impatient brat. And being branded a vendor terrorist ends up putting you in SR's Guantanamo prison.

The aftermath of Tony76 has made it impossible to assess a new vendor's reputation and unfairly sullied the reputation of some legit vendors -- to the point of leaving. If I were a vendor, I wouldn't want to deal with all this bullshit. When you're learning the ropes, you make a few mistakes. It's not the mistakes that mar the character of a man. It's failing to address those mistakes. If a vendor you've publicly excoriated says "Hey...I fucked up. I'm sorry. We can resolve this.", then you're a tantrum throwing asshole to keep mashing his nuts with a sledgehammer. And you should feel like an asshole. Instead, it's self-righteousness justified by "well...what about 4/20? Tony76 did this and now this guy did this, so he HAS to be a scammer."

No, he fucking doesn't. Maybe his girlfriend got hit by a car. Maybe he decided to head to the mountains for a weekend. The vendors here do have lives outside of dealing with you cretins. Some vendors get back to me within a few hours. Some within a day. Some within a couple of days. In only two cases have I ever had a problem with a vendor never getting back to me.

Like 9/11, get the fuck over it, order some more drugs from someone else, and stop being a dick. In general, I think the SR escrow system works pretty well. And, yes, I can empathize with having to finalize early if you've got no metrics from which to judge your likelihood to participate fairly in commerce. Given the anonymity between the parties and lack of recourse, there has to be some control over the transaction. Try buying small amounts from established vendors or take a chance and FE on a small amount, working your way up to junkie in paradise. You also need to take your complaints to the vendor to solve first. You owe him or her that courtesy before blackmailing with shitty feedback or spewing your distortions and misrepresentations of the situation publicly.

And for fuck's sake, USE THE VENDOR FEEDBACK TOPICS -- stop posting shit like "I got USD's package and out popped an angry dildo that was like a heat seeking anus missile as it raped me in the shitter and cackled 'All your bitcoin are belong to me! You FE'ing fucker'. And, man, my package didn't even come with LUBE."

Can't we all just get back to discussing those moments of pure bliss, the shared narrative of those of us in the cocaine tribe? Having a shitty day at work and taking a couple of toots up the snout in the shitter to get through the post-lunch misery. Or our rituals. Some people are choppers and snorters. Some people like a good freebase. It'd be fun to debate the pros and cons. Some people like to shoot it up. Favorite fucking cocaine high playlists. Shit we like to do when we're high. Times we got busted by friends and persuaded them to try a line and the happiness that comes from hearing a close acquaintance say "Wow...this feels good. This is cocaine? I thought it made you jump out of windows and go ape shit."

Is it really that much to ask?

The only comparisons that 9/11 and the 4/20 sale had in common were the fact that people came to realize they live in a world full of a false sense of security.

Most drug users like myself want to believe that this world is a great place full of people who want to help each other and be happy and content. This is far from the truth. The real truth is that you have to be on the defensive at all times. There are too many people out there trying to make a living off of your misery. I say thank you to the scumbag vendors for reminding us that the world is full of shit bag low lives who are so desperate to make a buck they are willing to fuck over as many people as they can along the way.

See you in hell motherfuckers.

tony was almost like a "bro down the street" for me.. i was waiting to get money and try some of his coke and get some more h... ah well. whatever, i should stay away from that shit anyway..

to be fair though, i remember when he started, he wrote in his thread how he wouldnt ever ask anyone to finalize early, but when i ordered a sample of his h, he immediately sent me a pm to finalize early...

I love when people try to sound "smart", "sophisticated", or "intellectual" by making a big long post with lots of fancy, big words and ridiculous metaphors because they end up just coming off as an idiot rambling.

I just want to  say that I completely agree with everything posted - except the dick above me...

I know good coke - did a year long binge many, many years ago - a few years ago, a co-worker said he could get me a 8-ball for about $200  - much cheaper than when I was doing it. it was absolute trash and I just gave it back to my co-worker and said "Enjoy".

I enjoyed this post.

Cheers.

It's funny actually because I'd read that Tony is in fact a university educated Saudi Arabian engineer

I tend to get slightly annoyed by people who try to "sound" like this when they aren't. Then again, all types of pretending annoy me and so does yours of pretending to see through CTE.

But really, and I have to say this, take the effort to read through his posts (or through anyone's posts before making judgements). I have noticed a few other posts by him with similar writing qualities and as far as I'm concerned he's not pretending. He IS intellectual and I really do love to see that around here.

I loved this one and although it may not be everyone's taste, it's good to have some of this every once in a while. You should learn to appreciate good writings, it will do you good.

It's a shame that English is not my main language or I would be very tempted to make an intellectual response to you CTE. Good job on making us think :)

For what it's worth I don't think the SR community is dying or in decline in some way.

I've only had 2 - 3 months experience as a buyer (different account), and even less as a vendor, but overall my experience has been excellent.

Its tempting to be overly optimistic about the kinds of people who frequent this site; The only sure thing is that we share a common interest in the use and reliable distribution of illicit substances. In light of this, I believe that any person on this site is only trustworthy to the extent that they are motivated to attain positive outcomes to their interactions with others (i.e. get drugs or money). While there are always exceptions to the rule, I wouldn't count on anyone going too far out of their way to put your interests first, especially if they have been caught between the proverbial "rock and a hard place" IRL.
