Title: UK tobacco and cigarettes
Post by: canucrackit on November 29, 2012, 10:54 pm
Was thinking of starting to sell only Golden Virginia on SR with a minimum order or 1kg. Would anyone interested? And possibly cigarettes (but minimum cartons would be 2 or 3).
Would only be shipping to UK as its not worth my time shipping elsewhere, but I know sellers on SR have difficulty with shipping to the UK because of customs.

Even though I can't beat their prices I still think I can provide reasonable prices for those who wish to sell individual cartons and break down.

What sort of prices would you feel would be fair? I'd be looking at £140 kg and about £35-40 a carton depending on brand.

so a 50g pouch would be £7. I'd be interested. do you do bulk discounts?

Yes would be £7 a pouch, providing I can get postage at a good price, otherwise probably £7.50. I'm not sure if I would be available to offer discounts, it depends on how often the customer buys from me. As if I know the same person wants 5kg next week then I can plan for that. Cartons I could probably provide a bit of discount on.

I for one would be very keen. Can you get hold of Camel Blue?  You say you are shipping to  the UK, but is that from the UK or abroad? I have mailed ordered 2 cartons to the UK now and nothing has ever made it to me, dam UK customs. Would you be able to offer a discount on say 10 cartons?

Not sure of camel blue, not really a popular brand. Yes I'd be shipping from the UK to the UK, so no customs or shipping problems. Yes over 10 cartons I could do a discount for.

Yeah sorry rightonion, I'll look into it for you. Just can't mix brands when I go in case I'm stopped. I will be starting up doing cigs later because they wont be from belgium (belgium prices £37.50-45 for 200). As for tobacco, I will try and get 2 runs in over december if I can. If not I will begin easter holidays.

And yes raistlin I can get amber leaf.

Dank sorry don't think I'll be able to get near that sort of price, unless I do an out of EU run (which next will be summer) and they will probably be mayfair or L&M.

id say his price is very fair considering its over £70 in UK now for 200 fags so £25 worth a try but not a chance . most of mine go for £50 and £40 for less popular brands :)

While I don't disagree I would only sell them for £35 so I would make £10 each carton. I'd easily sell 75-100 a week so good business for the guy if he starts up.

As a business arrangement between the two of you for regular purchase i can understand and agree. But as a standard listings it would be like giving them away  but then anything in the world is only worth what people are prepared to pay.

Thanks for looking into it. I do not quite understand your point about not mixing brands in case you are caught?

Look forward to seeing this start up. Qwerty where exactly do you sell you cigs?

I sell them everywhere but SR to be honest i don't advertise on forums (not allowed) but as you see my signature people can just ask.   mostly when i buy BTC i offer people my cigs and they send me more BTC i send them cigs. , BTC is not to common so most people i deal with are somehow connected to SR,  i operate on clearnet and in my local town  as-well (totally legal) still people all-ways ask for tobacco.  Hope that answers your question

I think you would have a lot of interest, especially considering it is UK to UK.
The company who currently offer the LOW price tobacco products ship from moldova with a 1/5 UK sucess rate. A lot of people just don't want to risk there money, especially with a no refund policy (looking at it, there sucess rate seems lower than what they say).

35 for 200, is cheap considering I pay close to 7 for 20.

I say go for it, as long as you can save the consumer a decent amount and your postage doesn't infringe on them savings, id think you would get good business.

Thanks thats mainly what I'm looking at selling for fags L&B as they will be cheapest known brand.

Your're welcome rightonion. And the reason I can't mix brands is when you cross border shop in the EU, if you get stopped its hard persuading customs that you like 2 or 3 brands. Most smokers smoke one brand only. I'm looking to do most of my runs in the summer time though, as I can't get time off till easter really. If I have spare kgs of golden virginia I will put up next few weeks (probably january).

Mrboom, I'm not sure how strict Irish customs is, but I can't see it being that bad shipping from England. We can try and work something out I'm sure :)
