Title: Help. What now?
Post by: -Bish0p- on June 20, 2011, 12:31 am
So, I just got my cash deposited in my MtGox account when it all gets compromised.  The question I have is besides changing passwords:

What do I do now?

Is there anything I should be aware of in the data that was leaked? And most importantly:

What should my next step be in this ever elusive quest for my very first bitcoin?

you and I are in the same boat

I have a few bitcoins there and some cash that i was going to use to buy more bitcoins

what we need to do is wait until they open the site.

I plan to move my balance asap and never go back.

From what I have been reading only one account was actually manipulated but it is possible other accounts could be in danger. when they re-open you will be prompted to change your password. they say it will not be before June 20th.

the crazy fluctuations we have seen with bitcoins could very well have been a result of this tampering. a lot of people are starting to talk class action lawsuit against mtgox. I really don't see how they can recover from this unless they catch the thief.
