I've just bought some cheapy 100g 0.01g Rad RZ100 digital scales. On getting them out of the box it seems like they are broken, when placing anything on them the weight quickly reverts to zero. I have tried to re-calibrate them however still this doesn't fix the issue. Is it safe to say that they are broken? I have a vague memory of a similar thing happening with a previous set of scales however can't remember how I fixed them. Any help greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,

It sounds like it's taring. Can you power it up, press tare, then put the mass on? Maybe that's what you're doing already.

Sounds broken to me. Unfortunately, this is has been my experience with cheap scales, especially the ones that attempt to provide a higher level of precision. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has found a reliable and cheap mg balance.
