Title: Black Tar Half as Cheap
Post by: arthurdayne on August 03, 2012, 06:27 am
All right, just for a moment, I wanted to ask other users why tar, and H generally, is so expensive on SR? Before I offer my solution, I wanted to note two things: 1) Black Tar heroin, of normal quality (get high 2x on a gram we/ a small habit) is generally available here for $25/gr. or $65/8ball (weighed on a digital scale). and 2) I have bought several smaller quantities of H on SR (stamp bags or other small amounts) and incredulously watched the overenthused feedback when I knew the dope was mediocre, at best, and cost at least 2x to get high compared to the local black. And local does not mean close to Mexico, it just means a western metropolis. And by overenthusiastic, I mean "Best dope ever on SR" about dope that took two bags ($45) to get moderately high.
Now let's assume I have a gram of H, actual weight and of equivalent quality, roughly, to that on SR, and it's cost to me was $20. Shouldn't I be able to sell it on SR for @$50, or what is now only 5 btc?
I see some of the normal expenses that may be amortized over the life of the business, like a vacuum pack machine (possibilty of a bad joke here- let your imagination run wild) and other costs, packaging and postage, which could be absorbed for normal USPS First Class or charged back to the customer as postaging.
But still, the cost of tar on SR is consistentlt @$200/gr. Of course there are going to be some qualitative differences, but nowhere near the 4x it would take to nullify the price difference.
Why haven't regular market forces produced black here for, say, $100/gr., or lower? The  costs I am uncertain about are the costs associated with chargebacks, mediation, or refunds and loss of expected revenue in general. Maybe vendors lose a lot more to lost shipments and scammers than I would think. Maybe it is a sufficiently high enough percentage that it explains a majority of the price differential. But that would have to be one hell of a lot.
     Thoughts, anyone?
