As it says in this article, New Jersey was one of only two shameful states in the Union that didn't allow OTC syringe sales without a prescription. For anybody located in that part of the country, this could be good news to keep in mind next time you visit the pharmacy; no pain in just asking.
From a harm reduction standpoint, I think this is a great victory. Those of you especially in EU countries must find it appalling that a state wouldn't even allow simple access to clean needles to those in need, and would rather facilitate the spread of disease by restricting the availability of clean rigs. Gladly, common sense overruled irrelevant "moral" values in this instance.
