click 'use a new identity', wait 20 secs and you might get a better connection. keep trying that until you can load pages at a reasonable speed. if you can't be patient then SR is probably not a good fit for you. oh and find that caps lock key and use it. once.

Calm down and please take a chill pill, this problem is quite common, it's not with SilkRoad it's with Tor, when SilkRoad is slow we're all in the same boat, it's part and parcel of onionland. I'm happy to trade the slow servers for my privacy, freedom, and the great quality I receive, in my honest opinion it's well worth the wait. Persist and all will be well, I wish you very happy travels ahead :)

hahaha brilliant ;D
i'm not entirely sure why but that did tickle me. kudos mr angry

It takes more time depending on how busy the Tor network and the SR servers are..
Getting a new identity will definitely help you, or rather until you get one that works quick..

They want you to stop typing in all capital letters. You are essentially yelling at everyone, and it is very hard on some people's eyes. I also cant figure out if youre just trollin around for post numbers, or if some of your posts are real questions.
As far as the speed of sr.. I find sr to be slower than browsing other sites on tor. But in general, there were many a day when dial up was slower back in the day. Someone said sr had been around since 2001? It would be neat to look at the technological changes and "speed" of the pages loading over the last 12 years in relation to sr, things like tor, and so on. I also find that at about the same time every day, I just simply cannot access the site for about 30-45 minutes. When I do finally get back in, a lot of things have been updated, like new listings are up or youve received several messages, stuff like that. So, I would imagine there is a a couple of global peak times that make everything slow to a crawl.

nahh no way has SR been around since 2001, more like 2011. was there even broadband in 2001?!
the access thing may not even be related to SR, i find when other people on my wifi are downloading torrents i can't load anything much on tor, leads to me running about the house like STOP THE TORRENTS I'M TRYIN TO BUY SOME BLOODY DRUGS HERE!! but at peak times isp's limit your speed depending on your locality and internet package.

I was wondering. It could have been a typo, as I actually had thought it was more like 2011/10.
Back to speed,, The time pattern I am noticing does not correspond to my isp's peak times, so it seems odd. There is also no extra downloading going on. Network is locked down quite tightly, and is showing the correct number of devices connected. But I can defintely load virtually any other site, including this forum, in a fraction of the time as it takes the market place to load for me. The market place loads as if I am on dialup, the rest of tor maybe dsl. My connection is closer to cable with a topped out plan in an area with fairly high rates. Dont ask me the numbers. I don't know what they are. lol. I can download a large movie torrent in about 1-3 hours, give or take. My house has actually taken to sabnzb and different news groups indexing files for download, posting the same types of files as on torrent sites. We used znbmatrix primarily, but they got shut down a couple months ago. The comp geek in the house is building his own site to index all the stuff. Anyways, the way the file is downloaded is far more effecient, and what took me an hour to do with a torrent, I can do in 10 mins or less this way.
I just cannot find a pattern that corresponds to anything but peak times for sr. Obviously people are getting in, and doing stuff. As soon as I get back, I can see listings and profiles have been updated, order finalization have come pouring in. Of course, correlation never equals causation, but it makes sense. I have been watching the site loosely since last spring, and there have been tons of new accounts, both from new users, and old users vendors who needed to create another account. I dont mind slowness in general, tor DOES slow things down. The speed of sr as it is now is an annoyance, but workable. I wonder if it will start to get slower as more and more people catch on take a walk.

I don't like you. I feel like just about everyone else who read your posts feels the same way. I just wanted to be direct and upfront about it.
Again, I don't like you.
Edit: Trying to decide if that -1 Karma I got came from this post. If so, that sucks. Cause seriously, this guy definitely came off as belligerent fuck. All I did was call him out. oh well haha If anything... +1 for pure honesty and a little hilarity.

I have most definately noticed different times of being slower and being faster, being timed out or not. US west coast very busy time is from 5-9pm aproximately. I am able to get on to SR at any time during 24 hours multiple times and have noticed this. It may correspomd with time zone hours that people are working and then off work wherever you are in the world. As for the guy who started this post. Where the hell is your gratitude anyway? You do need to take something to mellow out your blood pressure and your mouth.

crikey, most of what you've said has gone straight over my head. as a load of pure speculation SR peak times could be different to local peak times given that its a global marketplace with limited server capacity (i may have invented that term) so there'll be times when peak europe/us/aus/whatever all overlap and slows things down. things are better since they updated the servers a few months back. i'm not really overly fussed as long as i get there in the end. this site is worth the patience!
-
well worth the wait really
-
Absolutely well worth the wait!!!
-
If the load times really bug you there are currently 680 listings in the Benzo category ;) and if you don't mind ordering from India you can get some killer deals!

Absolutely well worth the wait!!!
No im not trolling.. i do ask real questions.. and im over the slowness..lol like you say it worth the wait..... annnnnnd to -1 karma guy good i dont like you either but like i give 2 shits and a fuck...and no i didnt give you -1 soooooooo quit cryin

I was actually surprised with the speed with which it loaded this evening....
-
id like to think its worth being patient
-
Is it worth the wait? HELL YES.
Having said that, I have bought several new laptops and replaced several HDs due to throwing the computer at the wall while waiting for SR to load....
-
I think it depends on the traffic, generally in the morning the loading times are next to non-existent, it's that fast however that changes when the clock hits 5 - 6 PM. Oh boy, it takes 50 seconds to load a page just for it to show "unable to establish a connection to the page requested". Or have an error stating "you just posted 0 seconds ago from your IP. Please try another time." when browsing the forums, when in actuality I didn't even post a thing. Really bugs me sometimes.

Yeah, sometimes I can't even connect to SR at all.
