Title: Is it ok to give people your silk road address to give you BTC?
Post by: DMTelf on July 23, 2013, 07:13 pm
Totally n00b question, someone needs to refund me for an order outside of the cart system, and has asked for my address to deposit it into ... now that is an ok thing to give, right?

Would just hate for there to be some kind of loophole where making my SR bitcoin address public enables them to withdraw my accounts funds ...

Thanks!

if you have a btc wallet then I would use that ! but u could always get the coin transferred to SR and then request a new address after !

Probably not anything to sweat too much, just use a new deposit address you haven't used previously, then never use it again. That's a good practice to get into anyway afiak. If you're really worried, just give them an Electrum or BlockChain or some other address instead. Unless you tell someone that it is your SR deposit address, there's really no way for anyone to know it is associated with SR.
