When it comes to international orders? What do you think is safer, I know the private companies tend to deliver and go through customs much faster which is a plus but dont really need a warrent to open a package. and USPS have to get a warrent to open a package and tend to have higher volume of mail.
What do you guys think

usps.

certainly usps

usps.
WIN!
haha, and OP....seriously! read through the shipping threads, post by post/ and filter through the garbage etc., Fedex can open any package they please....it's a fucking free for all...Usps requires warrants....thats why you'll notice EVERY vendor on SR uses USPS as their carrier.
carrier Pidgeons however can be effective too. Seriously, search the forum for the thread....While their capacity is limited to powder/small pill packs, blotters, and similarly light weight goods. no warrant is required to search a pidgeon and they do not require stamps or drop boxing (unless you live in Northern South Dakota).

i think Carrier Unnamed Arial Vehicles are the next logical step lol

we shall call them dronier pidg-e(n)bots (c) Me and M4lw4re own ALL RIGHTS mofruckaz!. lol. ! electronic pidgeons that can coalesce like transformers for shipping ounces etc, thus having the ability to "swarm" orders both literally and metaphorically. ha, should they be targeted by aeiral surveilance they will disperse and migrate to Iran where they will drop their product. hell, maybe they end up not crashing like the __Billion dollar "stealth drone" that fail crashed in Iran lol.

For what it is worth. I heard first hand from a UPS person that under no circumstance are they allowed to open the package, unless the typical spilled out, leaking......basically the same stuff USPS can get a warrant for without a problem. They said even odor isn't enough, he delivers smelly skunk all the time. Also 99.99% no drug dogs in processing. I was pretty surprised by all this?

I actually am not so sure that USPS is safer than private mail companies. Customs doesn't require a warrant, they can open any package deemed suspicious; it's not like the typical mail system. So when speaking on international shipments specifically, they may well be equally safe, or private mailers may even be safer. As pointed out by by caffeine_me, private mailers are not as through about inspection. They also have a greater incentive to just deliver their packages without opening them, they're trying to run a business that competes with other private mail companies!
Of course, on SR we're required to use USPS, but if you mail contraband personally, outside of SR, you may want to consider private businesses over the state-run variety.

USPS is safer for two reasons I can think of:
1) Sheer volume. FedEx ships about 3.4 million packages per DAY; the USPS processes about 20,000,000 pieces of mail per HOUR. There is safety in those numbers.
2) Constitutional protections guarantee protection from government, not from individuals or corporations.

Good point. USPS also has a lot more facilities, so they're more spread out than FedEx, somewhat diluting the comparison. However, your point is still quite valid.

Could you elaborate on that? I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

As a former UPS employee working in the worlds largest UPS facility which sorts all of the USA's UPS mail. This is not true. Drug dogs come through every day or every other day. They watch for shippers who they allow their packages to continue through. If a dog finds a package they are allowed to open it as carefully as if it didn't contain drugs(by this I mean it becomes considered a federal matter of safety as the dogs are trained to sniff out gun powder and other explosives, as per the patriot act). I say this because they take the boxes with them to the police headquarters located on the grounds, manned 24/7 by a special force of police officers. All UPS airport facilities are considered federal property and the UPS had to get permits to build and use the property since it involves air travel. The police headquarters also has their own drug dogs for UPS ONLY.
Yes, its true they train their employees to never open a package and this and that. That's orientation for a grunt worker, they aren't going to put grunt workers through an orientation for the process of handling hazmat or illicit substances because it isn't their job or concern.

I have heard the same. Thae UPS has the same standards as USPS.. They need a warrant to open any mail, etc. but when it comes to Fedex, they will hand the trucks over to undercover agents when asked to do a controlled delivery, no warrant, nothing.. So,USPS is obviously the safest, but from what I've heard UPS has the same standards.. But stay the hell away from FEDEX, lol..

Yeah, having read dudeguy551's posts about UPS's policies (which presumably are similar to those of FedEx and other private mail services), I have to agree now that USPS is almost definitely the safest option. Maybe they're equally safe some of the time, but hiding amongst the bulk of USPS shipments is probably in our best interest.

In the US, UPS (brown) is allowed to open packages and they do it regularly!! They inspect and retape the box, sometimes they will have a sticker saying the box was opened, sometimes it has just been cut at the seal seam and retaped, it is usually very obvious. NEVER, EVER, use UPS or FEDEX, PERIOD!!
