Title: FELLOW CANADIANS
Post by: jbernoit on April 03, 2012, 08:04 pm
I'm just looking for general info as relates to Canada and it's laws about shipping, PO boxes, the law and anything else relevant to ordering from vendors in Canada and abroad. What have your experiences been like? Is a PO box a good idea? Anyone get busted? Better to use a fake name? Any info would be helpful!

Here is what I know ( direct from a friends CanadaPost employee mom )

She recommended not to use CanadaPost mailboxes.

She says package well ... it isnt detection to be concerned about so much as theft due to the lax tracking. I have personally had cash removed from a box and the remaining box sealed back up and delivered to me. You could tell they removed it because the weight on the tracking sticker was .8 lbs heavier than what was delivered to me. Fucking bastards !

She says Canadapost employees do no care what you ship and they dont wanna know. Its a hassle because they have to write statements, testify etc if they discover contraband ... so seal it up and your fine.

She recommends using the smaller post offices ( 7/11 or whatever ) because lesser trained store owners work them. They will allow bending of the rules ( not verifying document envelopes being used strictly for documents, not pestering you to signup for VentureOne when you ship as business etc )

Peace
