Title: Use duckduckgo.com for browsing, not google
Post by: MedicineWoman on June 19, 2013, 11:30 pm
Whether you're on TorBrowser or not, switch from Google to duckduckgo.com!

When you use google, and the web site your visiting has google analytics set up, a LOT of information about you is being tracked. Read more at:

I am not affiliated at all with duckduckgo.com, just amazed at how many folks don't know about it yet.

Google, Microsoft, F-book, and many other companies share information with governments the world over. Not duckduckgo!

Peace,
MedicineWoman

Good question. There's nothing, though, to share with anyone who might demand it.

They don't send your searches to other sites, and they don't store any personal information at all. It's the entire premise of their company. Full privacy policy here:

Better yet, use startpage.com for searching. You'll also see it as the default search engine listed in the search box of the Tor Browser Bundle.

DuckDuckGo is how I wound up here. I would have never found SR without it!

The spammers are back, and as I agree with this recommendation, I thought this would be a good thread to bump.

brent12345: It seems they don't store it, so there's nothing to give up. You're still taking their word for that though...
