Title: Localbitcoins hackers
Post by: Newguy321 on August 07, 2013, 04:58 pm

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

I went to log into my account and when I logged it I was told that there had been 1200 failed logon attempts since my last visit witch was only a day ago.
Some one or ones was definitely trying to hack in. Probably a bot of sorts.

It is best to use their two part identification even though it is a pain to use.

Yeah, it's important to be as secure as possible with any site that stores your bitcoins. It's worth buying a burner or whatever for two-factor authentication if you buy/sell large amounts of btc on there.

I keep my BTC's spread out in several places so if one place gets hacked then they will not rob me blind. It was just scary to see that many tries on my account.
