Title: Harm reduction isn't always safe.
Post by: blank on December 23, 2011, 09:13 am
Okay, story time.

Got a wonderful package in the mail.
Disposed of the packaging with care and popped it on the kitchen table to take further action later.
Friends surprised me by showing up on the doorstep later and asked what it was.
I laughed and said "I haven't checked yet. Let do it now".
Pulled a glass ampule of Marquis reagent from the cupboard.
One of my friends hadn't seen one before so spent a while reading the instruction manual and looking at the colour chart.
I collected a dab of what was in the package on a knife and snapped the lid off the ampule.
Suddenly blood. Blood all over the table.
In breaking the top off I'd also sliced a large gash into a finger.
One friend burst into laughter.
One friend went for bandages.
The inexperienced-with-reagent friend grabbed the ampule and compared it to the colour chart.
"It's either Meth or Speed!" he said, clearly excited with the results.
"You idiot. I haven't even put the bloody powder in yet! That's my blood turning it red."
"Oh"
We all laughed but, remember friends, even harm reduction has inherent risks.

Maybe it's just that your blood had so much speed in it that it reacted!
