Title: BTC network confirmations
Post by: nobodyenduser on September 29, 2013, 01:56 am
Just about ready to send some btc to bitcoinfog (which everyone recommends) in anticipation of my first purchase and it says it needs at least 6 networks confirmations what is that?

And does my btc-qt offline wallet need to be open to respond to the confirmations?

I dont use bitfog I use blockchain as quicker and cheaper

the confirmations are you go to blockchain.info/address/youraddresshere it will list the confimations etc there

your wallet needs to be online to send the btc but the confirmations are by the others in the network that confim you did transfer and didnt try and double transfer etc

I was going to use blockchain but a few other said bitcoinfog is better since blockchain is on clearnet.

So blockchain adequately tumbles your btc for complete anonymity?

Yes and its instant and cheaper alot of people dont read things properly though, do you have a vpn? the problem is the actual coins being tracable not the transaction itself

but if you are comfortable using fog go for it I just dont trust any darknet ewallet at all

I always use a VPN which is one reason I haven't fully switched over to TAILS
