Anyone have issues with the ICS update and TOR stopped working?
Any ideas on a working app?
I try to use Firefox but will not allow the FoxTor add on due to only being able to have the latest 10.0 Firefox.
Any work arounds or proxy info?
Thanks!

Wait, you can use tor through an Android device!! OMG link? pls?

Correct. I have been using the tele to browse (not buy) on SR and to play in the forums.
But since my cell updated to ICE from Gingerbread it does not work.
You go to the Android market and DL Orbot.
Then DL Orweb v2.
Long press Orbot till bootstrapped.
Then open Orweb, it will say connected to TOR network or not. If not back out and try a few times-it usually sticks after a few tries.
This method has been fine for months for me till I updated my OS.

It's working fine, I don't know why you're trying to use the FoxTor add-on, it's completely unnecessary. You simply install Orbot (Official Tor App) from the Android store and then during installation you get asked which apps you want to use with Tor when Tor is started. You choose "Firefox" and then start it. You can choose Browser, Chrome or whatever you want.

No, it's very insecure. It's the worst way to access Tor although if you're desperate then I guess it's OK.

Thanks guys. Looked at the link and sounds cool but don't think i would ever use it. Just wouldn't feel safe.

Despite having this on an android phone there's no way I would attempt to use it for anything like SR. The platform is far too insecure in the first instance to treat anything running on it as trusted. Shame, but that's how I see it and knowing google and android that's most likely how it is.

oscarzululondon, is your phone rooted? It does not give me any option to select a browser during install. After the install I can
see this in the settings but is only available if cell is rooted. I pretty much want to be able to browse the forums while bored out
and about.
Still do not have a fix for a non-rooted android ICS.

Update, I don't know what I did different but I reloaded Orbot and Orweb and now it works. Just like on Gingerbread.
