Title: Tracking says delivered but no mail came (please advise)
Post by: audacity on February 25, 2012, 12:01 am
I'm expecting 2 packages: one that did not have a dcn 5 days ago which i really would have thought would come by now, and one with a dcn that was sent out of my local office today. For the one with the dcn i just check and it said delivered- 3 hours ago. And no mail at all was in my box.

I asked two of my neighbors and they didn't receive anything and the name on them wasn't my correct name.

Nothing big in them or anything though, and both from very trusted sellers.

Whats going on?

Hey man,

This is a good example of why you do not use fake names. The mailman in all probability did not deliver because it was not a name he/she recognized. I would simply caulk it up as a learning experience and cut your losses now. The last thing you want to do is raise any flags at your address if you plan to use it in the future which if it was me I wouldn't. I would hope on of my friends would allow me to use there house.

Hope you get some other advice but I think most will be about the same.

Thank you guys both for your responses- i thankfully got both of the packages today just sitting in my mailbox :) took a look around- no unexpected people/cars hopped in my car and came back an hour later. Ever since everythings been fine (lol might sound paranoid but reading these threads man..)

I didnt want to give to much information initially just incase something happened  but i actually just did what PV suggests people do so it was basically my name, but got me worried for a bit. I have had used that method before too so i didn't know if they just got wise or it was just a mistake and they were backed up. They often even give me mail for the old tennants in the residence that i've returned to sender a few times but still comes intermitantly.. might use that now.

The packaging was immaculant anyway i really can't imagine it was tampered with at all- there was tape involved but im pretty sure it was the senders'.

Anyway just didnt want to be one of those posts where you get a "Shit, help" thread and never hear from the guy again.

Cheers guys- audacity and SR live to do buisness another day!

Thanks for the thoughtful opinion-

You'd advise then to always use a real name? What about address? I dont think i should risk my friends in this process but i could use an old tennants name, no?

Also as per my last post, would you still recomend steering clear of my recieving address?

cheers

ya, with the dcn, depending on your mail carrier's route there is a chance he parks his truck somewhere, scans all the barcodes for that route section's mail, then goes to get a BJ from the hooker around the corner followed by breakfast at Denny's and a 30 minute call to mum.

Nothing to swear so far....

"I could use an old tenants name, no?"

I would not recommend you use the previous tenant. Ever heard of mail forwarding? Even it is not forwarded you could still encounter the same problem as a fake name. The mailman knows whos box that is and who gets mail there. Packages with delivery confirmations are important, and they want to make sure they are delivered to the correct place.

I would say he probably scanned it for delivery early but realized something funky was up with the address and didnt actually deliver it. Or just was running behind and never got to your mailbox that day for some reason.

Or possibly you ordered from MileHighMed who has been reported to potentially put the wrong address PURPOSEFULLY so that they dont actually have to send product and the delivery confirmation indicates the (empty) package was delivered so they refuse to offer any refund...

Just use the correct name for the actual box and you wont have any problems.
Using a fake name or the previous tenant is NOT going to help your case for "unknowingly" getting drugs sent to your address anyway. Plus then you get stuck with mail fraud and you just framed someone too if you are actually prosecuted.
Changing a letter of your name isnt going to help, cause they have records of who lived at that address and it doesnt take much of a logical leap to figure out.

Edit: I missed the update saying the package arrived, that is excellent news. Glad to hear it, but I would still suggest you just use the real name in the future to avoid any suspicion or potential problems.

Cheers for the very good advice mate- I'll make sure and take it next time. It's funny how a lot of first time buyers will go to PV and use that method and it screws with their whole notion of perceived security, my self being one of them. Not that they aren't very good at what the do but hell maybe its to cover their own asses.

BTW - LOLed at the sig  :P
