Is there ever a time when signing for the package would be a good idea? ???
-
I know some vendors offer a 100% refund if the parcel is recorded delivery. If thats safe practice to do is another matter (would like to know also)

It's really never a problem for buyers of personal amounts. I have done it with no worries. If your BTC transactions are secure and anonymous, and your PC and SR account are secure, all you need to do is deny, deny, deny in the extraordinarily rare occurrence of a controlled delivery. Unless it is a large amount, even if the shipment is seized you will 99.99999999% of the time never receive the package, or find a "love letter" in the box.

It's safe, but I don't like it though.

Ive felt skeptical signing before also but nothing happened, im sure you'll be okay.
besides you can always say you didnt know what was in the package.

I've signed, and also gone to the post office to pick up a missed order. Never had a problem, although I only order small amounts of personal.

i will never sign for anything

You'd just write the package off as a loss? You have better self control then I would haha.
Honestly if they put together a CD for me I'd laugh in their face, it would be so silly.

I wouldn't sign for anything either. But I'm confused - is the vendor doing the signature required or is it something else? If it's someone else requiring the signature, that's a big red flag, IMHO.
