Ive used orbot myself to check up on SR as well, never placed an order yet, Is there a PGP encryption for the phone as well?  However I have to additional questions for someone who may know the answer better than I would, Is there any additional security issues I should be aware of on a mobile platform and I had heard a rumor that cell phone companies don't track your internet usage as strictly as a normal ISP, is this true?

I dont think there is any pgp encryption for phones.
From what i have seen and read around iphone have a eye on there users always, ex when antisec hacked 1 milion apple user info found from a fbi agents laptop.
but much more then being concerned of your cell phone company, you should be concerned of which app are you using and to which app what permision your giving to.
Btw allot of apps giving your information to companies like advertisement companies etc..

Guilty. But on my phone I only log into a special, "phone-only," 0.00-BTC account that I never use for orders or correspondence. I operate under the assumption that my non-jailbroken/non-rooted smartphone is sharing everything I do with everyone on Earth, but if it is, all anyone will know is that I like to window shop at SR.

While ordering drugs on my phone while stuck in traffic is quite possibly the most awesome fucking thing I can imagine doing, I prefer to keep all my SR-eggs in one basket. Err, wait, that has a negative connotation. But in this case it's a good thing, assuming your basket is heavily encrypted and plausibly deniable.

Another thing that makes me wary of Orbot is that it has to be getting less scrutiny than, say, the Tor Browser Bundle, meaning any potential security holes are more likely to go unnoticed and for longer. Maybe Orbot and the Browser Bundle aren't even that appreciably different, but I don't know.

Not trying to plant seeds of paranoia here. Basically all I'm saying is "I don't know much about Orbot or smartphone security, so I assume it's not as safe." This is a good default mindset, but I'm open to being convinced otherwise.

That would be one of my concerns as well, I know you can mount the SD card as a usb drive and then use secure remove or something to wipe it, but I would not be surprised to find out that orbot uses the main phone memory as well, and i don't know if there is a native tool for mobile OS's to wipe the phone memory securly. I wonder if you had a rooted android phone with a full Linux kernel if you could boot into a mainstream Linux OS and use secure remove that way? got to look into that. And as far as verifing what orbot leaves behine, we should be able to use the Android VM for developers to see what gets changed when orbot is installed and run.

I window shop even using any excuse I can convince myself of. And then buy for any reason I can convince myself of...I'd like to see the word "sale" more often on SR!

As for using SR on smartphone, I opted against it when I realized that just my luck, once I put SR on my phone, I'd end up losing it for the 1st time. I keep Tor on a thumb drive & in a small safe when I'm not on SR because by God, I'm not going down without a fight ;D

I know android phones have the option to encrypt the phone + SD card, if that is enabled that should aid in preventing anyone from at least reading the data easily.

Does anyone see a problem with window shopping on sr using onion browser on iPhone? This is only a temp solution to getting involved with the workings of sr until I acquire a computer running Linux with tor bundle and encryption. Thank you for any input and any additional information anyone would like to provide for a newbie. :)

Ehh... I'm probably being overly cautious, but using my phone makes me too nervous. To me, waiting to get home is worth the peace of mind.
