Title: BitMe - Buying BitCoins
Post by: sinister4ng3l on December 06, 2012, 07:05 pm
I just used BitMe for the first time today. It said the money was in my account before I could send them a picture of my receipt. Now the question is, how do I buy the bitcoins now that the money is in my BitMe account? It keeps saying there's insufficient funds even though there's clearly money in there.

Hello I was going through the same thing that you are just a few days ago! And my advice is to NOT USE bitme again!

It has been 4 days since I made my purchase and I still do not have any bitcoins to withdraw. Yes it it quick for them to put the money in your account but the next step is to go on the main page and you have to put in the information like how many you want to buy, so there is 2 steps. First you get the money which it seems like you have already got that, then you have to make an order to purchase the bitcoins and then you have to wait untill a seller agrees to sell you at the price you put in . And I am still waiting after 4 days for someone to sell me some coins./

This was my first time using the website BitMe and MY LAST TIME> I DO NOT recommend
.... take too long

So then increase the price you are willing to pay per coin. Nobody is gonna sell you coin at 10/per. Be reasonable.

I'm having the same issue. Notice that there is a balance that has the amount of money you deposited, and then a zero next to it under the word 'available.' I think the funds show as soon as you deposit, but for them to be available, you have to send the pic of the receipts and they have to receive and acknowledge it before you can use the funds.

I agree, at first I was a fan of bitme.com, but now I made a post urging buyers to stop using.  It has become a bad market where prices have become too inflated for buyers.

I use BITME to withdraw BTC. There is not enough liquidity to stabilize their market for buy sell.

for buying BTC go to DRGONZO he's got great prices, $10.5 this weekend.

And drgonzo is what? a user? a site? do you have a link? Reviews?

I'm trying to find out if there are any btc exchanges that will accept this 'vouchx' thing so I can get my money the hell out of bitme, this is REALLY annoying.

Well, a quarter of my order went through so far... Maybe your asking price IS a bit too low, I'm paying 14.3 per(which I think is ridiculous, but oh well.)

The exchange has to be paid, the seller has to be paid, everyone takes their cut no matter where you buy them from.  Ask some SR BTC vendors to sell on Bitme, its profitable, legal, and safer than moneygrams, western unions, and moneypaks.

If you go to https://www.aurumxchange.com/exchange you can see where you spend them.  You can go straight to BTC, but you probably get a better rate if you send it to a mtGox account and bid lower than the market rate.  mtGox, by the way, is the highest volume BTC exchange.

When you create the voucher, be sure to save the voucher string when you see it.   The amount of the voucher is not what you request, but your requested amount less 2%.  Look up the value of the voucher under your USD transactions on your BitMe account before you use it.

Well, I'm all set now personally, I don't know how everyone else situations ended up though. My transaction took 3 hours, and I payed a pretty penny per BTC, but nonetheless, everything worked out...

There are people on bitme.com who want to buy coins, and there are those who want to sell them. My guess at the system is that buyers put out their buy orders and sellers put out their sell orders. The system tries to fulfill your buy order by combining a few sell orders offered by different people to add up to your order. When it says "...% complete and **.**** BTC," it's because it only completed that much of your order for you so far and is still looking for more orders to complete it. I had to pay 14.3 by the way. Fucking crazy, but the bitinstant/moneygram fees I would have usually had to pay that bitme.com allowed me to elude kind of balanced it out I guess.

I'm pretty sure you can do it with that 'vouchX' thing thats an option when you click on 'withdraw.' I'm almost positive I've read multiple peoples posts saying that mtgox accepts vouchX. I think you get a vouchX order for however many USD and a number that represents that order. Then you go to mtgox, put the number in and your funds are transferred for a 2% fee. Don't quote me though, as I've never done it...

thank you for your help i got it figured out i ended up canceling that transaction and getting some of my coins for that and then making a new order and getting the rest from the second tranaction. what a pain in the ass.

If you guys are thinking of getting bit coins with bitme.com think again unless you want to wait days.

No problem, I went through some of the same stuff. Thought I'd give my 2 cents.

i use bitme all the time its fine but there is not much liquidity. its good for cashing out $500 at a time. for buying just stick to SR vendors and negotiate good rates if you can.
