Hello there,
First Post, I'll present myself a little, I'm a DevOps, working for a French ISP, and I feel quite concerned by Privaty, Confidentiality, and respect of users rights in general on the internet network.
I'm posting here to express a little warning about the TOR network, especially for French users.
As you may know, the "hidden" IP you get from the TOR network,
which replace your actual IP in the logs of differents internet infrastructures,
is the one of the exit node you use at the time of the connection.
So, you've installed TOR, great.
You're doing your business on Silkroad,
I don't have to know about it, and you don't have to know about mine ;)
But if you really want to help the TOR network, and thus, the Silkroad Community,
you should setup the Tor app to act as an exit node, or at least as relay.
https://www.torproject.org/docs/tor-doc-relay.html.en
The risk otherwise, is that the growing community of TOR users will be stuck by the limited amount of processing power and more important: Bandwidth!
There is an association which is getting created in France which is called:
Nos-Oignons : https://nos-oignons.net/
The goal of all this is to promote and fund exit relay.
Don't hesitate to PM me if you'd like further information about this :)
