Title: Review of FarmerBob Cannabis Vendor
Post by: uniwiz on May 31, 2012, 10:14 pm
So far so good.

Sample Jedi Joint very nice. What a nice way to say hello ;D
I have sky, and a package says A+N, is this Agent Orange?
Anyhow stinky dank, a little crush.
The A+N bud is big and as dense as Christy's, or MRGT nugs, with a very nice smell.
A+N smells like lavender.

I think the packing method might need some work, as buds are crushed.
I don't have a big problem, but others will.
Is it possible to put positive pressure on the bag?
Anyhow, I'd rather have much larger package to fix that problem ;)       :P

More report later........

A+N means I shipped you the agent orange 1/8th you asked for (one big bud I think), and threw in some small NYC-Diesel buds in there as free extras.
sky is skywalker
Sorry to hear they got crushed.  I knew with the bubble-mailers there was some risk that they'd get manhandled, certainly with larger quantities I'll be upgrading to some sort of small box, maybe the USPS flat rate boxes... not sure if that would look suspicious getting dropped in the blue mailbox though.

Thanks for your order and review

Bob

Agent Orange was great, nice indica lock down buzz.
Pretty much a 3.5 gram bud, nicely cured, dried, and without a big 2 gram stem in it ;)
Smelled like lavender, I really enjoyed the switch in buzz, since I've had a lot of sativa's lately.
The sky was a great morning high nice sativa buzz, Went well with cannabutter egg sandwich.
The jedi joint was very nice as well.

Everything was grown, and cured well.

It made for a nice day. lol

Holy fuck what amazing packaging.  Seriously.  Even if intercepted, I can't see a controlled delivery ever happening.

Came in literally one day.  One.  Fuck me in the ass.

Will update with quality later.

I just want to echo what this guy said! Keep doing what you're doing Mr. Bob. As long as you're selling here, I'll be buying from you.

First of all, I ordered on Friday night and somehow my package arrived on Monday. Packaging is double plus pro, love it love it love it. He's using bubble mailers, so while there might be a chance of some crushing my buds arrived looking just fine.

I paid for an eighth and received about 4.5 grams. FarmerBob included strains NYC Diesel, Agent Orange, and Skywalker. I have tried all these strains several times before, purchased from IRL dealers as well as other darknet vendors, but FarmerBob's are by far the best example of these strains that I have seen. Buds are totally frosty, perfectly cured, flavorful and delicious. His Agent Orange and NYC Diesel are some of the best cannabis I have ever come across, no exaggeration. The Skywalker is the weak link, but even this is better than the other examples of Skywalker I have purchased in the past!

Keep it up; I'll be back. THANKS!

Picked up a 1/4 of Agent Orange.
Normally I'd like more but I understand he is figuring his system out.
I enjoyed the small sample to buy more just for the strain

The service is super fast, I swear he lives next door.

A 1/4 of the buds show they are not as large, crystally as Christy's but dense, cured well, not wet.
The packing method does squeeze the buds, if that bothers you.

Buzz report later, but it was good the last time. 8)

Just received my order this morning, the packaging is awesome, had me laughing for a good while. The shipping was so fast I couldn't even finalize yet, had to wait another 5 hours before SR caught up. The bag weighed 1g+  heavy and got a free sample of NYC, now that's what I call a great vendor.

The Agent Orange is fantastic, it's got a really good head high. The smell is unique, almost like a bouquet of flowers. It reminds me of walking into the flower section at the grocery store, very pleasant. The taste is exactly like it smells, and even the last hit of a cashed bowl has a good taste which was a pleasant surprise. The quality is right up there with the stuff I get from top vendors and I really like how moist the buds are, will definitely buy from Farmerbob again.

Post by: FarmerBob on June 16, 2012, 06:40 pm
Buckfuddr, I'm glad you liked my weed.  You SHOULDN"T like those buds being moist.  I got rushed with so many orders coming in and mistakenly put to much water in the salt pan of my humidor.  It was about 5 days before I caught it (noticed it last night).  The skywalker was unaffected since with all the orders I"ve been to lazy to put it back in the humidor, i've just been leaving it at my workbench with the lid on.  The AO took the worst of it though as it's been siting in the humidor lid-off.  Overnight I left everything opened up with a fan on to bring the moisture content back down to acceptable levels.  I realized the mistake yesterday when I took of the gloves for a minute and tried to roll myself a joint.

I checked weights of 1 of the buds pre/post dry and it looks like I had about 8-10% more water content in the Agent Orange than there should have been just let them air out for about 6 hours or so.  I've been going more than 10% overweight on all my orders so hopefully nobody gets screwed in bag-weight.

Sorry again, I just got rushed and made a stupid mistake.

And thanks for the good feedback.  To be honest I think i'm getting TOO good of feedback given the rate the orders are coming in. ;)

For those of you with the LHLC-NYCD samples that is later-harvest, long-cure NYC Diesel from the December harvest.  I run a 3 week longer flowering cycle and then age it in the humidor for many many months.  It's something special that I sometimes make for myself.  I only have a couple ounces so it's not for sale but I figured it'd make a nice sample to hand out.

Best Regards,
Bob

Farmerbob definitely knows how to grow some good trees. I ordered 1/8 of NYC and was thrilled with all the goodies. The two joints were nice and thick and got a frosty sample of AO. There was compressed buds in the order, but I suppose bob will find a way to avoid compression in the future  :D I also ordered a 1/4 not too long ago, expecting it at the start of next week. Asked or some trim and he is hooking me up, bro move  8) I must say, Famerbob is one of the only vendors who really gives more than he lists in his orders. Not many do this due to their profit motive, but I really dig his goods and the way he establishes himself. Good addition to the SR community in my book.
Title: Re: Review of FarmerBob Cannabis Vendor
Post by: FarmerBob on June 17, 2012, 08:15 pm
Thanks for the kind words P0zen.

I've been trying to put some air in those bags along with a couple packing peanuts to hold the edges out a bit.  I'm hoping that can reduce the compressive loads the buds see some.  That is the one downside of the bubble mailers.  On the plus side the bubble mailers blend in beautifully with other mail, they don't look suspicious when you put 6 of em in a blue postal mailbox, and they move through the postal system faster than boxes do, they're also lower cost.

So for those of you who've received a bubble mailer from me lately:  what was the condition of the buds?  Was there significant crushing of the buds?  Would you have preferred a box shipping method instead?

Thanks,
Bob

Haven't had the pleasure of trying out your goods FarmerBob, but I do have a bit of knowledge to share on a question that went unanswered. I've been a serious eBay vendor since January and have shipped 500+ items of all sorts of sizes and weights, and a large chunk of them go to the ol' USPS Blue Box. On the boxes, they say that there is a 13-ounce weight limit, otherwise bring it to a Post Office. When I was first starting out, I'm sure I must have broken the 13-ounce limit dozens of times, and I've never had a package bounce back, ever. I have since done bubble mailers with recycled SilkRoad packages' stamps (I've ganked at least $25 of uncancelled stamps and re-used them for my own shipping), I've never had anything returned. Even my desperate hacked-up and re-taped boxes (turned a 24x24x24 to 24x10x6, rofl) don't faze the local USPS employees, lol. They seem to be pretty lax around here.

One day I shipped over 25 Small Flat Rate boxes at one Blue Box, not a problem at all, lol. One thing I noticed though, is that you mentioned bubble mailers move through the mail faster than boxes. I didn't ever notice, but you're totally right. I checked a good 25-30 recent packages vs. mailers and mailers seem to move faster and deliver earlier! That's good to know!

One thing that thought of that I do to cheapen my packaging, is to use scrap cardboard (or even cut up flat rate boxes, ooooh!) to secure items inside boxes. I also like to put video game manuals/boxes in between two pieces of scrap inside a bubble mailer, people really seem to like that. I was thinking, you could possibly use cardboard to reinforce your mailers, or depending on the styrofoam, cut it into a hollow rectangle. I've always thought that old VHS tapes would make perfect stealth containers, but those are heavy for First Class. Alright, one more ridiculous suggestion: hollowed-out hardcover books. Sorry, just watched Shawshank Redemption earlier, lol!

Anyways, sorry for the ranting, hoping I'll be able to place an order with ya soon!

I like it when the buds are a little moist because it tends to dry out sitting in my grinder. Plus it takes me a week to smoke a 1/8, so some batches dry out by then.

I didn't have any crushed buds, but it was only an 1/8. I'd guess a 1/4 has more chance of that.

Not sure I've ever heard of getting too good of reviews, sounds like a good problem to have. You will run into unhappy customers eventually, there are always those picky customers that can't be pleased.

I placed my order for some Skywalker on wednesday, looking forward to trying it out since I've heard good things.

I just received my second order from FarmerBob (hopefully, my second of many more!), and I'm happy to report that nothing has changed.
Same fast shipping time, same ingenious packaging, same super dank buds.

I ordered a 1/4 of the Agent Orange. I asked if he would split the order half with Skywalker, and he did a very generous job of it. :) I received nearly 4g of each, plus a small sample of some super dank "?" strain. I rolled it into a joint and smoked it in the pool today...

Thanks again FarmerBob, you're doing a fantastic job and I will certainly be back in another couple weeks.

I get a kick out of all the people that love the mystery weed, I've got jars and bags of random unknown buds laying around my house and garage that came from this and previous grows.  Sometimes I'll pull a whole branch to sample the weed when a plant gets close to perfectly ripe.  I always sample before I cut em down, and I always have leftovers, I'll jar em and forget about them..  Then half the time I'll just give them away for free to friends or toss them in the compost pile.  Its good to know they're not being wasted anymore.

Anyways, selling on here has been quite an experience.  It is amazing how many newbies are on SR.  Judging from the number of orders going out to the new users I'd guess that SR must be experiencing some serious growth.  It was also interesting to watch my sales.  At first a few orders, a few lines of feedback, then more, then even more, eventually it got to the point that things were selling out as fast as I'd list them and I was dropping off bags full of packages.

And selling is a LOT more work than I expected.  Weighing and bagging weed, trimming and fabricating MBBs with my heat sealer, sealing the weed, cleaning & de-scenting everything, packing, labeling, DCNs & Postage.   I ended up having enough orders that I found myself driving into town every day and I live about an hours drive from the major metro area that I mail from.  Once I went to grab some packages to carry them to the dropbox from my truck and accidentally touched some packages... had to drive all the way home and re-pack and do it all over again...  So there is some serious time commitment to selling on here that I didn't fully expect going into it.  The time is probably another reason you don't see the west-coast hydro operations directly selling on here.  I know a few of those guys and they work 60+ hour weeks... they can't spare the time to sell here (and obviously they don't want to take on the risk of illegal interstate sales & shipments when they can stay legit doing the MMJ thing).

Let this be a lesson to you kids out there: growing & selling weed (or dealing in any drug) is a boatload of work and when you finally sit down and figure out how much you're making per hour you put into it it's not all that great..... stay in school, get a degree that'll pay well (medical, law, engineering) and get a real job.  You'll make more per hour (and you'll get medical and retirement benefits to boot).

It's been fun though, and although it's been a lot of work It won't be much longer and It'll all be over.  The Skywalker is gone, save a few Ozs I've held back for myself and a few friends.  The AO probably only has a few OZs left for me to sell.  The AO and the Virgin Mary are my favorites and I'm holding some back for me and the old lady, i'll sell a bit more later in the summer once I'm confident my summer harvest will be good.  I figure at the rate sales are going out I'll have most of the remaining AO, NYC-D and VM sold out by the end of July.  Then you won't see much from me until the summer outdoor harvest is cured (November maybe).  Followed by my fall/winter indoor harvest (January) and next years winter/spring (May-June).

So I've listed a bit more of the AO, and I've put up a listing for 1/8ths of the NYC-Diesel.  If you get your orders in Friday I'll have them out Saturday morning, and there's a good chance they'll arrive before the 4th.

I'll follow up with 1/4Oz listings of the NYC-D later in the week.

When those either sell out or the sales slow down I'll list the Virgin Mary.

Thanks for all the business and good reviews.

I'm glad you guys like my weed as much as I do.

Bob

Thanks FarmerBob, glad to hear you will be here with another harvest.

I just sent you a .5BTC tip as a small token of appreciation :)
Also, whenever I select a nugget to roll into a joint or right before I light a fresh bowl pack, I smile and say, "Thank you, FarmerBob."

Thanks Radi8.

------------

For the rest of you who've ordered are the buds making it to their destination without being smashed?  I've been putting in air in the bagging & a few packing peanuts on the edge and have only heard back from a couple people that it seems to be working.  I just wanted confirmation that it's doing alright.  Worst case scenario I'll switch to boxes, but then I expect delivery times will go up by a day or two.

----------

Also, I've listed the 1/4 OZs of the NYC-D.  This is the NYCD from the grow I finished in april, it's the same weed that went out when I did my introductory sales.  recently, many of you got samples of the late-harvest, long-cure NYCD from the crop before that.  The stuff i'm selling here is a bit stronger than that and is probably the most potent weed I've grown in a very long time.

http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/item/89797150cd

This seems to be the clear favorite of the few people I sell to IRL and i've only got around 10Ozs or so left to sell here.  I'd guess that it will sell out in 1/4s and 1/8ths, if not i'll list 1/2s in a couple weeks.

This will likely be the last of the NYCD till my December indoor grow is wrapped up.  I've got a few plants left outside but NYCD doesn't tend to perform so well outside as it's a bit too susceptible to mold and mildew.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Vendor Review~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Weight: 8.2g + free sample of Virgin Mary. That's a fat quarter and then some. Nugs were good medium to large size with a few popcorn nuggets and no shake at all. It doesn't get any better
Communication: Received replies within minutes/hours and assured me of some concerns. Very professional. This person is above average intelligence and will honestly and safely take care of you and your personal information. This is what SR is all about.
Shipping speed: Took 3 days to east coast including a holiday. Nice! Order was marked in-transit only after actually shipping, this helps with timing of delivery. Who doesn't like that when a fat sack of weed is coming your way!?
Packaging: My only complaint. The buds showed up only slightly flattened which only a snob like me would even care about. There is a free way to fix this, however! Package exactly like you did except place the clear bag in, say, a free box from USPS (they can ship these in bulk to you) and then in the awesome mil-spec bag that was used. This would better protect the buds from being flattened at all and should not affect delivery times. I have to mention that the mil-spec bag that he used looks like mylar, but is MUCH thicker. I believe its layered with nylon, aluminum, and a couple others. There is no doubt this method is as safe, if not safer than mylar. Also, the note is NOT needed. That is just another piece of evidence. Other than that, packaging was stealthy and great
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Product Review~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Method: Only a blown glass bowl for the fullest taste and accurate review

Name: FarmerBob's New York City Diesel

Grade: AAA (Highest)

Type: Hybrid sativa dominant

Looks: Exactly as he pictured, but slightly flattened due to to packaging

Smell: Extremely fruity and smelly, like sweet and funky pineapple and maybe guava. There are some light floral notes as well. I wish this smell could replace the air we breathe

Texture: Very fluffy and cured perfectly. A little sticky too. Burns to nothing

Taste: It's lighter tasting than expected and sweet. About what one would expect based on the smell. The taste, although yummy, goes away quickly, and there is no hint of an aftertaste. Ladies and gentlemen, this is truly organic

Effects: Comes on fast, within 5 seconds after exhaling and peaks after a minute. My nose, mouth, and forehead felt flushed and my heart was beating slightly faster. Music, sounds, and colors are enhanced. I felt really spacey but that could be because I haven't smoked in about 45 days before this review. It would be easy for one to forget what they were saying in the middle of a sentence maybe while rambling. It's very upbeat, talkative, euphoric, and both focused and spacey with a touch of cottonmouth. Thoughts tend to wander. Quite a lovely combination. Oddly, I didn't experience any munchies. My eyelids drooped and I felt light pressure behind my eyeballs. It's potent like he says, which is exactly what I was looking for

Duration: Lasts about 90-120 minutes accompanied by a relaxing indica buzz after a little comedown. The sativa/indica balance is quite nice

Potency: Very.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Final Thoughts~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Buy it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Overall Score: 99/100~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I had to look hard to find any fault, but I decided to subtract a point for not using a box inside the bubble envelope and the note. Nobody's perfect, and I couldn't justify lowering it any further

I just have to bump this thread and say Bob's NYCD is so very potent. It's almost "too powerful" like he says and I feel a little weed hangover after sleeping for 8 hours. If you're searching for potency and all around dankness, stop your search, this is it. I love this stuff
Title: Re: Review of FarmerBob Cannabis Vendor

I just posted a review of bobs NYC Diesel in the stickyed cannabis thread but figured maybe I should copy/paste it here too.  To the guy who didn't like the note: it freaked us out at first too and I actually thought it was addressed to a friend of mine who went into this buy with me, I was like "how do you know this farmerbob and what does all this mean?".  Then my GF read it and was like "you guys are idiots" and explained why it was in there.  Then it made perfect sense and then you realize just how good this packaging really is.  I don't wanna say more because I don't wanna fuck with bobs shipping method and I know detailed discussions of that stuff is off-limits.  Anyways, we were pretty happy with the whole thing.
But we DID get the munchies, we're eating as I write this. :P
Other than that we agree with the previous poster that this shit is badass.

But Bob did me right even though I had 0 purchases before this and just signed up recently and I figured this review is the least I can do.

thank you again bob - we'll be back, & we'll tell everyone we know about ur weed & how to get on SR to buy it so we'll bring more new customers for ya. ;D

My review- (crosspost)

 I wanted to give props to famerbob for being cool and responsive and hooking me up even tho I was a first time buyer.  Some vendors are total douchebags if you got 0 purchases cause you're new, then it's a catch 22 and that makes no sense because of escrow protecting them.  Even when I get a lot of purchases I won't be buying from vendors with those sorts of policys because it's some elitist BS and those vendors can go fuck themselves.

Vendor - farmerbob
product - NYCD

Service&Communication - excellent 10/10

Delivery - 2 DAYS!!! mad fast 10/10

Packing - friggin brilliant 10/10.
Not sure if I'm supposed to be giving details about the packaging but it was very professional looking on the outside and looked like a business e-commerce mailer.  Inside was a metal bag thing and a note from bob that kinda freaked me out at first.  It took me a bit to process it all and I realized that this was the most brilliant packaging ever.  There was some foam peanuts inside I think to keep the buds from getting crushed but I'm not sure why they were there, the buds were in really good shape.

The Weed- 13/10
christ this was the best bag I think I've ever bought, I only smoked a bit and I'm still stoned and that was almost 2 hours ago.  The NYC Diesel smells nothing like diesel, more like flowers actually, was the sweetest smelling weed I've ever encountered.  I had one giant bud, friggin huge, and a few smaller ones, the buds were dark, fluffy, only moderately dense, and not at all compressed.  Looking closely at them you could see that every bit of every portion of every bud was covered in THC crystals.  The taste was amazing, fruity, thick moderately hard smoke, no real aftertaste but OMG this shit had some firepower.  we got WAY more stoned than we expected, not terribly couchlocky not overly headhighish, it was well balanced weed just with extreme strength.  But It's hard to evaluate the high in that detail when you are so overpowered by it.    I'm giving it 13 points out of 10.

The price was really good for what I got, and I got a sample of some other strain as well which looks good but we haven't smoked.

Overall this was about the best first experience I could ask for.

Cyprus, you are indeed correct that it is very potent - some of the most potent I've ever had. I like your review too and pretty much agree with it all. I got some Agent Orange today and I'll be writing another review for it probably tomorrow, I'm too tired tonight. But I will say that his AO is exactly what you want to come home to after a long day of work.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Vendor Review~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Weight: 7.7g + free sample of NYCD. That's a fat quarter and then some. Nugs were good medium to large size with a few popcorn nuggets and no shake at all. It doesn't get any better
Communication: See above
Shipping speed: Took 2 days to east coast
Packaging: The buds showed up less flattened than the NYCD, but flattened nonetheless. Only the largest bud showed faint signs of being handled, the rest were round.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Product Review~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Method: Blown glass dry bowl

Name: FarmerBob's Agent Orange

Grade: AAA (Highest)

Type: Hybrid

Looks: Exactly as he pictured, but slightly flattened due to to packaging

Smell: A little spicy, with the sweetness of a funky orange. A tad floral. It made my mouth water. Very strong and pungent like his NYCD

Texture: Medium density, cured perfectly. Somewhat sticky too. Burns to nothing

Taste: Strong and yummy orange that lingers for a few minutes. What you would expect based on the smell, but not spicy. There is no hint of an aftertaste, it's organic.

Effects: Comes on faster than expected, almost immediately after exhaling, and builds slowly for a 30 seconds. My nose, mouth, and forehead felt flushed. The sativa is definitely felt, but it's more indica. This bud provided excellent pain relief and focuses the mind until it slowly lulls you to sleep. VERY relaxing and smooth high.

Duration: Lasts about 90 minutes, maybe longer

Potency: Potent, but not overpowering. Not as potent as his NYCD, but that probably has more to do with genetics than growing method. NYCD is ridiculously strong to begin with, and AO is a notch under.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Final Thoughts~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Buy it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Overall Score: 99/100~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Same very minor complaints about packaging, not enough to lower the score any more

I got some of the skywalker OG and it was about all I could hope for, probably the 2nd best bud I have received from the SR minus Skywalker Blitz from Rook which is mind numbing. The teaser of the NYCD was AWESOME and am waiting for coins to make it to my account so I can place an order.
I have to agree the letter weirded me out a bit but for repeat business I am glad it adds another way of deniability should something go horribly wrong. LOVED the packaging I opened the bag to fluffy beautiful buds. Cant wait to smoke on this next batch!

Hi all. Well, damn. I am gearing up to make my first ever purchase on SR, and I narrowed down my list of vendors to FarmerBob being at the top of the list, and it looks like I'm too late to experience the New York City Diesel.

From the reviews, it looks like he's got everything I want: excellent shipping with attention to detail, fair prices, and of course excellent weed. The description of his NYCD being very potent, and an good balance of sativa/indica effects, is what I really want. But crap I missed it, and now he's going MIA until fall!! Ugh...

I had my mind all made up and ready to buy a 1/4. Well, if anyone can recommend a similar alternative in the meantime, please do. Since this is my first time, I want to get a nice balance of sativa and indica effects, more on the wake and bake creativity side. And POTENT. A few years ago before SR existed, I tried another means of mail order weed, and it was painfully disappointing. It had zero potency. I might as well have been smoking catnip. So, I really don't want to have that happen again. I want my first buy here to knock my socks off. I don't want any mediocre/ok/meh stuff.

Anyway, FarmerBob, I hope I can get my bitcoin shit together in time to get something before you go.

Ok I'm a little late in posting this, but here's my review of a transaction with FarmerBob.

Product: Agent Orange

Price: Very good. Would have preferred to see postage included in the product cost instead of tacked on as an extra.

Packaging: Excellent. Looks like a typical eBay package. The military-grade moisture barrier bag works well.

Shipping Time: Also excellent. Ordered Tuesday evening, received Friday. Adding those extra 4 digits to your zip code seems to speed things up by a day.

Product Quality and Effects: I'm a light smoker (relatively speaking, of course!) and a novice in evaluating pot quality, but Agent Orange is some good stuff.  If I'm not mistaken it's a hybrid strain, but for me it leans a little more towards Indica stoned effects. Fairly clean smoke that left less resin than usual and made the bong-cleaning chore a bit easier.

Overall, a fantastic transaction and I'm looking forward to doing more business with FarmerBob.

thank you all for the good feedback.

I've cut open a few NYCD 1/8ths and doubled them up or threw in weed from my wife and my stash to convert them to 1/4s.  So I have a handful more 1/4s listed.  They should be sold out by tomorrow and I'll then be listing the Virgin Mary.

These latest NYCD packs have some weed that was timmed by my wife and she doesn't do as well as I do.  So if I saw bags that seemed leafy or stemmy I threw in extra to make up for it.  So if you get a heavy bag that's probably why, I went heavy enough to ensure nobody gets screwed in any way.

Keep your eyes open tomorrow for the VM (trimmed by me)

Thanks again,
Bob

hey bob. it seems you are doing pretty well on here and  not alot of people realize the amount work it goes into anonymity especially for a vendor. maybe some advice, since you already are known for your product and service and packing etc why not only make drops once or twice a week? less trips to drop off packages. just a thought. your business your rules lol

Hi Bob, any idea when you're going to have the Virgin Mary listings up? After all the rave reviews can't wait to try to try your goods.

Thirdeyevision, I've just got the 1/8ths weighed out and sealed today.  They're in the dishwasher now and so I've put those listings up.

I'll work on the 1/4s tomorrow and hopefully I'll have those listings up tomorrow night.

--------------------

Andy, I've thought about driving in less, it'd certainly save me time, gas, and miles on my truck but I've been unloading this weed at a fast enough pace to justify the daily trips in.  Plus less trips in means more packs to drop at once and I think that looks more suspicious.

Well, I got what I asked for - potent weed, and jeepers I may have taken for granted what FB said about the NYCD being "maybe too potent" because it really is strong - not harsh smoke, just potent. In my search for finding just the right effect I'm looking for, I may have actually found it more in the Virgin Mary sample he included. It is more what I would call creeper weed, at least for me it came on more slowly than that NYCD which kicks in almost immediately. I felt more relaxed on the Virgin Mary whereas the NYCD had me up and hitting my speed bag (punching bag)! Mind you, I have yet to take a heroic rip of either of them yet, and the I tried the NYCD in the day and the VM at night so that may have influenced the effect. After I've had a few days to smoke I'll update with more thoughts.

But yeah, I want the VM now! And just like my first order, I'm going to be cutting it close to buy it in time before he's sold out. So once again I'm gonna try to get to the bank asap before the weekend and place my order!

FarmerBob, what's your inventory looking like? You think you'll still have some VM for a few days? I'm hoping for another 1/4 oz.

Ouch!  :-\
Can't wait for mine...I got so damn lucky. I was trying to get both the NYCD and VM and it worked out just like that thank god. Got one of the last two 1/8s of NYCD and grab the 1/4 just a little after it went up.
But hey man, you may still be in luck! I don't think FarmerBob is finished packing them all yet. If I remember I think he said that was just the first batch he had ready to go. Probably sold out faster than he thought! lol.

I'll hopefully be posting a review with some good pictures when I get to it.

Yep they're gone. I only listed 6 ozs and things go quite quick around here now.

I appreciate all of your business, and hopefully next time I'll be able to keep up with demand for longer.  I'm going to start trying to grow more, mostly for the SR market.  This summers outdoor crop, it is what it is, and maybe it'll yield a few pounds (thank god I'm not growing in the Midwest, i feel sorry for all the growers who got wiped out by the drought).  My next indoor crop I'll try to grow more (finishing in December).

But be warned, even if I show up with twice as much the listings will still likely go very very fast.  After I noticed just how many newbies are flooding onto the site I started to monitor the "members" count of the SR forums.  It seems that the SR forums grows by about 1/2% per day.  I think it's safe to assume that SR grows at that rate or faster.  I do not know if that trend will prove to be linear or exponential but given the "word of mouth" factor I'd assume it to be closer to exponential at least until SR represents a few percent of the worldwide drug trade.

If we project that growth rate out over the year we're looking at 600% annual growth!!!  So no matter how you look at it i'm going to be a small time operation here.

Anyways, I'm hoping these orders that are in-transit all make it safe, Had one close call were the mailman delivered it to a buyers neighbor (who kindly returned it unopened), and I screwed up on one order and only sent 1 package instead of the 2 that was ordered (i sent it out as soon as I realized it).  So no major screw ups, no losses, no interceptions.  Overall things have gone well (knock on wood).  And given my perfect completion rates I'm estimating that my bubble mailers are giving better than 99.67% probability of successful delivery.  I can't complain about that at all.  Best of all not a single person tried to screw me over or claim a delivered package didn't get there.

The wife and I are going on some summer vacations, we've been working on visiting every state in the US and every province of Canada, so I won't be selling anything for a while.

When I get back, I may consider listing:
Trim
Edibles
Marijuana Whiskey (amazing stuff)
Barrier Bags by the square foot. (don't know how much $$ there is to be made on this though)

Thanks again to all of you,

Bob

Revieww Timeeeee!

After using several domestic Cannabis vendors, I can safely say, if he never sold out, i don't think I'd use anyone else.

Product: 1/4oz Agent Orange and 1/4oz NYC Diesel

Packaging:  [10/10] Awesome packaging.  Seriously, the best weed packaging I've seen so far on the road.  Everything is stealthy, return address looks totally legit.  FB describes his packaging of bud on his profile which is different from a lot of vendors but works perfectly.  Absolutely no smell outside package.  Also, he doesn't pull a vacuum on the bag so the buds come out beautiful.  And of course, it's completely airtight.  he also has some extra precautions but I'll leave the details vague.

Product:  [10/10]   Honestly some of the (if not) most potent bud I've tried.  My first order was the Agent Orange and I was shocked to see a giant 5g nug in the bag.  It was such a beautiful, mighty bud.  I have horrible eyesight, I'm colorblind, and my vision (with correction) is far from 20/20, yet I could see the trichs just popping off the buds with my naked eye.  I figured the large bud was just luck but on my second order I got NYC Diesel and lo and behold, a giant 6g nug!  Plus, I got free samples in both orders I placed!  Everything I tried was super potent.  I really loved the Virgin Mary (Blueberry x Northern Lights) sample I got.  Unfortunately my bitcoins were a couple hours too late to snatch up the last of it.
Tasted AMAZINGGGG in a vape.  I can't stress this enough: if you're buying this quality, you owe it to yourself to buy a high-end vaporizer(~$200usd).

Shipping: 10/10  VERY FAST!  Each time it was like only 2 days coast to coast.  I honestly don't know how it gets here so fast.
*** *Okay, let's just stop for a second and take some time to appreciate what we have here.***
I can turn cash into bitcoins in a few hours, place an order, and weed is at my door in 2 days.  I have to keep reminding myself not to take this for granted.  This is amazing.

Communication:  I don't even know.  None was needed!  And that's a good thing.  I placed my order, it went into transit, and I finalized the second I received the package.

Overall Experience: [10/10] Absolutely thrilled about this vendor.  The only thing I worry about is him becoming way too popular!  I missed out on some of the Virgin Mary last time, and I could just kick myself for not getting to the bank a day sooner.  I'm torn between expressing my undying gratitude and just shutting up and not letting people know how awesome FarmerBob is!  =)

Thanks again, FarmerBob!  Please come back soon with that fall harvest, and with plenty of it!

Damn I missed the 1/4oz VM listings - that shit sold out quick! Fortunately I got a sample in my previous order and it is amazing bud. I can't wait until this fall, I'll buy any weed FB grows and I'm happy he's doing so well on SR.

EDIT: FB, I'm very interested in the marijuana whiskey and edibles you make.

FarmerBob's the frikkin man!

My experience was 10/10.
Communication/speed: 10/10
 Packaging: Multiple layers, indiscreet with no smell. "Just another ebay package"? Exactly. If a similar slip of paper should be included in all SR packages for extra protection, I would be a happy camper; clever idea! May help if plausible deniability is ever called for. ;)  The inner layer was even bubbled out so no smashing of the goodies, however, it wasn't antistatic and some trichs were lost but not a huge deal just a personal preference. A third layer would be appreciated, as three just makes me feel better than two. Overall, very professional.

Shipping: 3 days. Super fast.

Product: Included in my order was an eighth of SD and a sample of the Virgin Mary.  I  liked the VM high better than the nycd, b/c of the body load.  More of a creeper than a head rush, which I really like.

Unfortunately we were away when he put the listings up and within hours they were vanished in a puff a smoke.  :I

 This buyer is with anetta. I don't wanna have to share Bob with too many people, but glad he's doing so well, seems like a nice guy, and very professional; he deserves it.  Overall experience, 9/10

Side note:
I know an old man who has waited since NYCD premiered to hit a bowl and he finally got to.
 Tried to convince him to share his bud with a first time smoker girl who was at his house when we were there, but he was selfish "It's too damn good to waste on kids!" so she got the snicklfritz. lol

Happy to spread some of Farmer Bob's love, can't wait till fall when we can spread it again!

Comfortabl3Numb, I totally agree. And I hate to say this, but I liked it better than the 1/4 NYCD that I ordered :(

I've just recently been trying to figure out how the weed i used to get years ago would be described; indica body buzz, or sativa cerebral? Well, after combing through many many review threads, I thought I figured out what it was i was looking for - a sativa cerebral energetic high, and I thought FB's NYCD was it.

But I think I was wrong. I think I wanted a less intense fast acting weed, and more of a calming creeper space cadet body buzz. When I smoked the VM, after a few minutes, that old familiar feeling that I love came over my body.....nice and calming, groovy glowing sensation that makes me want to turn on the black light.

I still like the NYCD because it is a boost of energy and I want to move around and get something done, but the second time I tried it, I took a little too much and holy shit I started to freak out! The first thing that ran through my head, oddly enough, was the final scene in "Hulk", the one with Nick Nolte, when he starts absorbing the Hulk's power then he say's,"It's not stopping! Take it back!" He couldn't stop absorbing the Hulk's energy, and he was freaking out! And that's how I felt, I was like "Oh shit, I smoked too much, it's not stopping!". But being the cool cat that I am, I told myself the rocket ship ride to orbit is the scariest part and it doesn't last long.

Anyway, after a few minutes, it clicked in my head and I calmed down. After that, I enjoyed music lying down. I took for granted what FB and others said about it being "almost too powerful". Then again, I'm a lightweight at only 126 pounds, so that may play a factor.

So yeah, I would like to get something more along the lines of the VM next time.

As far as the experience of dealing with FarmerBob, he is a very smart guy and helpful, and I feel very comfortable knowing he is a pro at sealing/packing/securty etc.

There you have it! My thoughts.

(edits are for grammar)

Lol, I mentioned that the NYCD is no joke. It's easily the strongest bud I had in awhile, and my tolerance towards it is almost non-existent. The high is exotic and can be overwhelming. Out of all the strains I tried on SR, FB's NYCD and VM immediately comes to mind when mentioning notable strains acquired on SR.

Although I'm happy for FB, and his success on the SR, I'm sadden by him not being around for awhile. I really wanted to grab another batch of NYCD and Virgin Mary. However, the strains he has listed for the fall sound exciting. If everything goes well, we'll hopefully have the opportunity to try them.

I should have waited a bit before declaring 100% delivery success.  On one of my last orders I had a guy report that the 1/8th he ordered did no arrive.  The DCN showed "delivered" in the correct zip code so who knows what happened.  My guess is either a neighbor or housemate stole it or the postman delivered it to the wrong place.

This happened once before where the carrier delivered it to the wrong apartment but the neighbor was kind enough to deliver it to the buyer unopened.

I'm hoping it shows up for this guy but I'm sticking by my policy that if the DCN shows delivery then the buyer is out of luck.  If the DCN disappears off the face of the earth then I'll resend.  I suppose this policy may occasionally burn a honest buyer who gets screwed by the USPS but strict adherence ensures nobody can scam or double dip, and that benefits all of us.

But if it doesn't show up I suppose I'll have to update my delivery statistics to show that 1 of 234 packages didn't make it.  That will put me at about 99.5% completion rate, and I suppose the .5% is tolerable so long as it's just lost and not intercepted.

even if going forwards a majority of the ).5% losses are such that the package is never marked delivered and It so it comes out of my pocket I can live with that.

So I've kept track of how much i've made and how much effort I've put into the whole SR sale thing.  I'll share these with you guys in case you're curious about it.

----------------------------------- FarmerBob's end of summer selling period report---------------------------------

This summarizes all of my activity from May 26 2012 till Jul 26 2012 (2 months)

Totals sold:
approximately 3 pounds
~130 1/8ths
~108 1/4s

Total Revenue: ~$17,000

-------- Labor Actuals -----------

Hours spent on SR : 45mins/day * 7days/wk * 8 wks = 42 hrs
Hours spent Weighing, bagging, sealing, washing, packing, labeling: 2hrs/day * 6days/wk *8wks = 96hrs
Hours spent driving&delivering (I delivered every mon-sat of this period): 2hrs/day * 6 days/wk*8wks=96hrs
Labor Totals over 2 month selling period: 234hrs

----------Expenses----------------

Postage & packing & materials including MBB: Paid directly by buyer: $0
Gas & Mileage @ US government mileage expense rate (~80miles/day * 6days/wk * 8wks * 55cents/mile) = $2112

---------------------------

Revenue that would have been realized had I just sold everything to a dispensary or locally for $220/oz: $10560

Increase due to SR:  $6440
minus mileage: $4328

Extra money made on SR per hour labor: $4328/234 = $18.43/hr

--------------------------------------------------

18.43/hr is one hell of a pay cut, before I retired i was making over 100/hr not including benefits.

I suppose this helps explain why SR doesn't have much in terms of direct-sales from the really high-end west coast hydro ops.  They can do the legit route and sell to the medical dispensaries without dealing with the time/trouble/risk of interstate mail shipments.  The benefit vs risk isn't all that good.  Those guys also already work 60hr+ per week.

I suppose my business numbers get a bit better with larger quantities as the mileage & delivery time are largely independent of volume, but it's still not great.

I think the lesson learned is that selling drugs is a bit over-rated.  A person is far better off getting a good job or having your own legit business than trying to sell drugs.  SR doesn't have stock options, health & benefit programs, 401K, Pension, etc....

Don't sell drugs kids.

Better than being a greeter at wal-mart though.

Bob

Awesome statistics Bob! Cool of you to post them and very interesting! That does seem to be a decent amount of work and hassle. So thankful you are willing to keep on sharing with us!  ;D ;D
Very excited for these edibles and this whiskey sounds really cool. I’ll be on that for sure! Also I believe you said you’re interested in selling cuttings. Well I'll be right on that as well! Looking forward to it all!
Have fun on your vacation though FB. Hope you and your wife have a great time and enjoy yourselves!
Here is my promised review WITH PICTURES (HQ with some macros). ENJOY!

Review

Strains: New York City Diesel and Virgin Mary (Northern Lights x Blueberry)

COMMUNICATION:
Outstanding. FarmerBob provided quick responses (caught him online) and answers to my questions. He helped me out with my order and we agreed on a method of shipping and buying. Cleared up what concerns I had.

SHIPPING / HANDLING / STEALTH:
Fantastic. I believe the order was out to ship the day after I placed my order and it arrived 2-3 business days after. Fast! Package was amazing. I don't wish to get into details because as we all know it should be kept as private as possible! But exterior of package looks like ANY other order that you could have placed online. Just believe me and all of his feedback when I say YOU WONT GO WRONG with FarmerBob! It was sealed up very nicely, and even with rough handling I would still feel that it would be safe. Even if the package was opened, he took an extra step to protect you. I smell checked everything until I opened the actual product and not a whiff of a thing.

NON-SMOKE / WEIGHT REVIEW:
When I finally broke the seal to the product, WOW. DAMN! Beauty just emerged into my nostrils (I was even stuffed up like hell. It was the strength of cut onions or garlic!) . My two orders were separated neatly. I weighed the products out and they were BOTH 1+ gram over each! So that’s a total of 2+ extra grams! The buds looked and smelt phenomenal. You will be blown away! (Pictures soon below!)

New York City Diesel REVIEW:
If I had to put this bud into one statement it'd be: not for beginners! It hits you almost instantly (out of a bong at least). It's one of those buds were you're high before you even think you're high. When you take a hit of it and hold it in your lungs you FEEL its power! It’s as if the trichromes are zapping around in your lungs! The smell of it was definitely citrusy and smelt just like oranges. Beautiful smell. My friend thought it smelt so much like oranges that he thinks someone put orange peels in it to 'puff' the weed up. haha. It smelt a little diesel stank, and a little grassy too. This strain particularly wakes me up, makes me feel good, and the effects are strong and last average time.
The word to sum this bud up is POTENT!
You must see it for yourself. And most importantly try some soon! Pictures:

Virgin Mary (Blueberry x Northern Lights):
This bud was amazing to just look at. Blue, purple, and mostly green colored the buds. It smelt like something old is all I could put to it. Like aged weed I suppose. Could smell that tasty hint of the blueberry too. Not a very strong smell but once you get a get a whiff of it you'll know. The high is nice and doesn't hit you hard and intense like the NYCD. It's a smooth ride up to your high, and once you're all the way up the, it's GREAT.

OVERALL:
Both were extremely potent and high quality. In my opinion these were cured to perfection. The buds achieved balance cure between sticky on the inside dry on the out.
When you inhale these strains you feel the potency in them, literally inside your lungs. Its grower to buyer direct, the highest quality and you can’t beat that!

And FarmerBob, you should put a tormail in your email contact on your PGP keyring. Just in case SR goes down / backup!!!

cool pics, glad your doing well, hope you have lots of safety, just want to see what do you think about just writing a random name of different substances like herbs or dried fruit, you could really label it anything, if it were to be opened, not sure if it would help or not for security, might just be extra work.  But it seems the quality after trying other vendors and I am thinking that there must be a large drop in quality with Vaccum Seals compared with your method.

Mylar bags are preferable to any vaccum seal, imo. They are opaque, smell proof, and uniform. However, packaging method has nothing to do with quality other than compressed or non-compressed nugs. Vaccum sealing is cheaper and quicker, I believe, so most vendors go that route with some sort of opaque barrier present.

Writing something random might get you in trouble if too far farfetched (like saying it is exotic dried avocados). All vendors have some type of "front", and foods is not really a good option because the Dept. of Agriculture might get involved. Saying it is a circuit board or a stuffed animal has less "checks" to pass in terms of freight, correct me if I am wrong.

Farmer Bob hooked me up with an O of his agent orange.  I was stoked for the whole what I think was 4 days it took to get here.  As soon as it came I smoked a bowl from by bong and I'm embarrassed to say I got so stoned I knocked over the bong and broke it.  His smoke was so smooth and tasted so good I didn't even know I was getting high.  I usually associate smoking with coughing until my eyes tear up.  Bob's bud was a relief.  It was smooth on the inhale and tasty on the exhale.  I had the euphoric indica feeling, but was able to get up and clean and go about my day.  The crystals were gleaming under the light and while the smell wasn't the strongest I've encountered it was the most pleasant.

The usps in all of its wisdom took my package for a ride across the country twice before landing it in my mailbox.  This was of course no fault of Bob's.  Even though it wasn't his problem I received a nice message from him in my inbox letting me know that my package is on a mission and provided me with tracking info.  On the tracking site I saw that my package was not only 5 minutes from my house before flying across the country, but also that a "Notice was left" which is not true.  Lesson is, if you think Bob is taking a while with his packages it is definitely not him.  He handles his business professionally.  I put my packages under a black light to see how careful vendors are with keeping their product on the inside while handling.  This package was extremely clean and sealed very professionally with buds so in tact that they could have been taken right off of the drying rack.  I will definitely be keeping an eye out for Bob when I am ready to order more bud as he is an absolute pleasure to do business with.

I believe he ran out of the summer grow but that is imo. A post from a little back indicates he is upping his indoor production, so there is a possible delay.

My buddies keep mentioning the NYC Diesel that I got from FB earlier this year. It felt like tissue paper, no lie. Once his indoor grow is for sale  I will most definitively have a ton of coins saved up for such occasion ;)
