Title: bitcoin recommendations?
Post by: mainmanmiles on June 15, 2013, 04:43 pm
hey all - so I'm up and running with Tails - excited by all the lovely things around here - still haven't actually managed to swap any PGP emails with anyone but I'm working on it and then of course I need some coin - anyone have any (preferably idiot proof) advice on this?

Clearnet -  www.Localbitcoins.com  find a reputable vendor with good feedback/reviews.  My transaction yesterday took a total of 5 minutes.

I try to look for direct bank deposit.  Seems the easiest.  I've got a single BTC provider now.  Can keep it steady with almost any amount that I need

If you're in the US I'd go with Blue Sky Traders, you only need to do a cash deposit and that's it. It's also pretty cheap compared to the other services and it's .onion based.

@boostedh - guess I'm not really getting this whole thing yet! Is bank deposit a safe option with regard to traceability - I did read about "washing" bitcoins - does that make them anonymous even if purchased from my 'real' bank account?

thank @tree - I'm in UK actually
