Title: PGP for Orders ??
Post by: Bullfrogblues on June 15, 2013, 03:13 pm
Do I need to encrypt my order info inside SR when I place my order or is the PGP just for emails outside of SR.

I have been using PGP for questions but responses are always coming back un encrypted.

Does SR encrypt the order info when sent?

Thanks

if its insensitive info then not much need for encryption. SR encrypts through the order system.

but when u order use the vendors PGP key to encrypt your details - name, add etc unless ur skeptical about everything then just encrypt away :)

Check the buyers guide : http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Buyer%27s_Guide

Receiving address

From the moment you submit your order, to the moment it is displayed to your vendor, the information is fully encrypted and unreadable. Then, as soon as your vendor marks your package with the address and confirms shipment, the address is deleted forever and is irretrievable. For the extra cautious, you can encrypt your information yourself with your vendor's public key. This way, even if the Silk Road server your address is on were compromised, your address would still be safe.

Great thanks. I will always PGP address info etc, but keep questions plain. Makes sense. Glad I asked.
