Black people today waste their potential talents in performing shitty forms of music (hip hop, rap, etc.).
So in this thread, post examples of what you would consider GOOD examples of Black musical talent.
I'll start off with this:

Damn son, I've never really been that much into hip hop or rap but what the fuck is up with all these new hip hop producers and rappers going on about molly? Sounds so shit. Its influencing all the kids to go and take 'Molly' in stupid amounts and over dose themselves on something thats actually M1 or some other RC.
That's not my only problem with all this modern hip hop and rap; its so materialistic and derogatory which also influences all these kids to go and act like they do. Starting to really toddle my pip, as it were.
This is why my favorite type of music has and probably always will be electronic music.. specifically Dnb and deep house at the moment. 8)

Much of the rap scene is about buying cars, getting rich, being assholes to women and being on drugs. Some people need to grow up.

So it's just your opinions which are old

The OP sounds like a fool. Music of all races and creeds suck today.

i agree. But black american music is /especially/ bad. it isn't even music. at least trashy white music is still music. it's utter garbage, but it at least tries to be musical. Hip hop and rap music are un-musical cacophony.
-
HipHop used to be awesome social commentary but now its mostly product placement and 'boasting'
+1
It seems after Cobain died ALLLL music went to shit

The line "pop a molly, I'm sweating" has pissed me off more than any song lyric in history.
Half the people who constantly repeat it don't understand the similarities/differences behind the terms molly, mdma, ecstasy, methylone, and other stuff.
People are going on and on about molly and how good their dealers molly is when 80% of the time (in the U.S. at least) it's methylone or something else.

Yeah, but it seems that we have become way too critical of any opinion except those directed at the Tea Party or some other right wing group of people. To say that African Americans don't want to be clumped into any cliche (musical or otherwise) would be an understatement. Most that I know would want intelligent discussion about the matter at hand. Music does not stereotype a race rather it is the race that stereotypes the music. I like some rap and hip-hop. I like all forms of music. The problem lies in the fact that we always want to keep ours, ours and theirs, theirs. But it doesn't change the fact that we are all one. Remember that.

WOW, just had to delete a rant about this post. All because I missed the word DON'T. What I first read was African Americans WANT to be clumped....
One word changes it all. Glad I re-read this 27 times to catch it.
As far as it being to critical of any opinion, no it isn't. It is all in the receiver's perception of what is being said. Things can be just stated or written as matter of fact as possible but if the attitude of the receiver is skewed by anything, and most all of us are, then it can be perceived as critical even when not.
The fact that we are all one does not elude me. We are all humans, but some, a lot, are fucking stupid, and I am not going to ever be one with STUPID. The statement "Black", say what? Black, really? Have you no better vocabulary than to use "BLACK"? What next "BROWN, BEIGE, MFing TAUPE. Get the fuck out of here with this color shit. Now I know you did not use this fucked up stereotypical BS, but the poster did and that is who I am calling STUPID. Not because of the fact that the OP is stating "...used to be cool..." I don't give a shit about this because we all have our own ideas and opinions about what is and isn't cool. This is an opinion. Using COLORS to describe people is ignorance at the highest level and should be fucking thrown off a tall building so when they hit the ground we can say 'Now your RED bitch.'
Using COLORS to describe people, GET THE FUCK OTTA HERE!!!!!! Time to evolve from the cave dip shit! :o
Peace and Love to all, except the stupid.. :)

Southpaw, nice dissertation. I'm glad I'm stoned right now because you needed to be to read your post. Look, Captain Obvious, you are the one that has dragged this into the shit. If people left troll posts like this alone, we wouldn't get douchbags like you standing on a soapbox telling us how cool you are. How many black friends do you have? Do they come over for dinner? Who gives a shit. The OP was the definition of a troll. Just move along. There's nothing to see here.

Black president Obamination - I hate him because every black person votes for him because he's black and white people vote for him because of the pressure of racism - vote for black - you're not racist. It's a circus over there and he looks like a monkey.

'Black' in this context just means 'of sub-saharan African ancestry'. Of or belonging to the negroid race. What would you have me call them if I can't use the word black? African-Americans? But that excludes non-American blacks. Negros? But that is also politically incorrect. Niggers? But that is considered 'racist'. Africans? But northern Africans are Caucasian. The only word that works is 'black'. I didn't invent it, so don't blame me for it. That's the word that people (including blacks) use to refer to the black race. And don't give me the "race doesn't exist" bullshit.

You obviously have reading comprehension problem as well. show me where I say I'm cool, no where. If you had half a fucking brain you would realize I have a problem with you idiots that use the word "Black" to describe people. Your just as big an idiot as the poster.
To answer your question, I have no "Black" friends, zero. Got it moron. or can you read, didn't think so because I made this clear in my previous post. I' m not going to waste time trying to explain this to someone so obviously dumb as you are.
As far as a troll, who gives a shit if they are. They have a right to this forum just as you are allowed to be as ignorant as you show. Your response to my post just shows how amazing it is that people like you are even able to breath and type at the same time.
Fucking squirrel! What a joke, but that's what squirrels are. :)

I think just in general music and musicians black or white were cooler in the past before the were all hijacked by the corporate media and such
