Hello there, I'm just asking for some help here cause I'm a tad confused.
I've been getting fireworks from Canberra for ages but have had to stop
because of new laws. Now i have no source and i can't find anyone who's selling them.
I'm thinking about driving up to Adelaide to pick up a bunch..
Is this feasible?
Some people have told me stories about getting fireworks from China Town in Sydney
which seems really risky to me..
I'm interested in getting 500 dollars (MINIMUM) in fireworks..
I'd feel a bit paranoid meeting anyone here in person
and i'm not sure how something like this would be setup.
anyways, helpful advice would be great guys.
Thanks :)

its not hard to make your own, just do some googeling, otherwise Darwin you can buy them, not sure about Adelaide. I havn't heard of them being available in China Town for years although I might be wrong
-
I'd rather legitimately buy them..
Darwin is so far away from me, Adelaide is my best bet.

anyone else have advice?

find yourself a guy that likes scotch and drives a car carrier.
give him X $ for a big box of fireworks
he goes and buys said FW and puts it up in the top car on his truck.
when he gets home you hand him 2 x bottle of scotch and he hands you BIG O BOX O FIREWORKS!!
Thats how it is done baby:)

Hahahaha, i'm more talking about what is the border security like?
and is there anywhere closer than Adelaide?
I'm not sure if i'd want to trust someone who loves scotch THAT MUCH to go on a 16 hour drive.

DO NOT try to import them from overseas... I had a mate who did and they all got seized and he received a letter in the mail informing him that they will be destroyed.
Novo is right, try to get an interstate truckie to help you out :)
We use to buy the small crackers in Chinatown in Brisbane many years ago, it wouldn't hurt to go into the stores and ask - they can only say no! But in our experience, you will not get the range that Canberra use to have.

There is a guy in my parts that has thousands of dollars worth of FW.. lmao
I will ask him if he wants to ship them, but realistically.. it has to be by road and morally the driver needs to know whats in the box.

novocaine sorry i forget if your from australia or not?
i think fireworks being shipped overseas are likely to get seized but fireworks within australia might have a chance.
I'm happy to drive to meet them, but i admit i'd be just as scared as you of the potential of it being a bust.
-
Yeah I am in Aus and the guy I know gets his shipped from Darwin by a truckie who picks it up for him.
I reckon thats about the only way you will get it, short of picking them up yourself.

There was a guy near Newcastle, NSW (exact location purposely omitted) who used to supply fireworks 'under the counter' and we used to stock up on our trips up and down the East Coast.
It's been a year or two since I last was a customer so I can't say for sure whether he is still in operation but I could probably try and track him down if Newcastle is nearer to you.

Thanks guys for all the help!
Novocaine perhaps we can set something up where i order a bunch through your sellers account?
Your willing to work within escrow right?
perhaps we could start with a small 100 dollar order
then start doing bigger things..
obviously you'd make a fair side profit..
Would you be interested in this? :)

We are a US based seller and have access to several types of pyrotechnics and would be willing to attempt to ship to Australia under a few conditions.
Due to safety concern's (as well as legal ones) we will only ship Class 1.1-1.3 Fireworks.
If you wish to inquire further please feel free to send us a message on the Silk Road.

Shipping fireworks oversea's seems like a really really bad idea to me..
Would this be within escrow?
-
Of course. It is my understanding out of escrow transactions are now banned on the Silk Road.
And once again, we are willing to attempt delivery overseas.

oh cool. Talk to me in PM buddy. we'll work something out :)
tell me what you can get me.
i'm looking to get a bag of things, i personally have no idea how the hell you'd get that through customs
unless you shipped it or something.
