This thread was prompted by my appreciation for Star Trek. Dr McCoy can synthesize pretty much any compound imaginable in the medical lab of the enterprise. And then he could use the transporter to beam packages for free, instantaneous shipping seven days a week! Just pgp your transporter coordinates. And I doubt even the federation could curtail the black market use of Bitcoin in their foolishly idealistic money free society.
In episode 43, Wolf in the Fold, McCoy dispenses this silly drink which makes everyone giggly and immune to fear, so as to starve the space ghost of Jack the Ripper who feeds on the emotion of terror.
In episode 24, This Side of Paradise, some whack flower has spores potent enough to make the whole crew mutiny and beam down to live as agrarians on this pretty planet, and it even makes Mr. Spock fall in love with some chick.
In episode 06, Mudd's Women, Harry Mudd has these really ugly chicks hooked on the Venus Drug, which makes ugly people attractive, so that he can sell them as wives. Might be good to cut mdma with that.
There are definitely more from Star Trek, but I can't remember just this minute.
I'd also like to try some of that substance D they have in a scanner darkly. I hear it fucks you up. And there is Soma in Brave New World. And that Valkyr junk from Max Payne, seems intense.

Moloko or whatever it was they were drinking in a Clockwork Orange.

I think that was just cocaine in milk. Could be wrong though.
-
NZT sounds pretty cool although I've heard by some that's kinda sorta what meth feels like. lol.

It's just milk, if you read the book it mentions 2 REAL chemical that they sometimes added to the milk. I believe both were benzos when I researched them.
I want that shit from Heavy Metal (the hallucinogen that the alien dudes snorted)
-
duh,
ADRENOCHROME!
-
That drug from 21 jump street.
-
How about a drug that completely resets your brains tolerance to all other drugs? I would give anything to roll for the first time again..

dopamine/serotonin receptor resets would be priceless. maybe tryptamine can offer such a service being a neuroscientist
-
I would pay top dollar for something like that if people confirmed it to work

Seconded.

Ever wondered how much of our personality is based on what we liked and enjoyed? Wouldn't that drug also become a cure for psychological addiction? By the way, possible side effects will probably include erased memories.

I thought pricetam kind of did that?

That drug from 21 jump street.
HFS
Holy Fucking Shit
Check out Funny or Die for other fictional drugs. Be warned though pretend drugs can pretend kill you!
-
I'm somewhat surprised no one has mentioned Substance D yet. Those that don't know what that is should read A Scanner Darkly by Philip K Dick, awesome book and mediocre movie
-
Skooma or Crystal Twist.

NZT-48 would be fucking awesome.

the red pill

Discussed this with my friends before and what I'd love is to find a drug that is a cross between MDMA and K that could put you into a sort of MDMA-hole or an "M-hole". Sort of a hole filled with body rolls and euphoria that becomes an out of body experience all in one.
Any takers?

Hell fucking yes! But at the same time, part of the reason I like MDMA so much is because of how outgoing and active it makes you. I'm never like that normally

I agree about NZT. Also the bug powder from Naked Lunch, deepweed from Shadowrun, nuke from Robocop 2, skooma from Elder Scrolls, Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, Romulan Ale, SQUID from Strange Days (not sure if that counts as a drug), substance D from A Scanner Darkly, swampweed from Gothic, valkyr from Max Payne, and zyme from Deus Ex.
Hope I didn't miss any ;)

My vote goes to substance D :)

red eye from Bebop

It was amphetamine. They never say for sure but that is the impression I got.
-
Skooma or Crystal Twist.
I was scrolling down the thread thinking "DUDE I WANT SOME SKOOMA" then I hit your post and I was like "FUCK YEAH".
-
Funny you mention McCoy when you said this...
I used to suffer from insomnia when I was in the army. Knowing that I had to sleep and the kind of days coming up just made it worse.
I recall laying in bed and wishing that Dr. McCoy would just hit me with one of those hypo-injectors, instantly putting me to sleep (either that or Spock would give me a nerve pinch!).
Your thread made me laugh, though (at myself).
Nowdays, I guess I'd want something that actually changed reality and not just my perception of it. THAT would be the uber-drug.

They mention a chemical by name.

Take a trazadone and about 5mg of meletonin. It's pretty damned close.

Accela.
That or a version of MDMA that could be used every day with maximum pleasure and no bad side effects.
-
I wanna take a soma holiday
-
I'd sooner have a fictional ability to be like the incredible shrinking man - that way I could afford some coke :)
It would be cool to shrink and see my 3 gram of hash like the size of a car! Guess I'd need a miniature bong or something - not thought it through and I'd likely be eaten by a spider in a stupor.
So - forget all that!
I'll take Soma from Brave New World but only once as I don't want to be happy for the government!
-
Melange, the spice drug from Dune...
-
I'm surprised no one mention these but super stimpacks and stealth boys. (Stealth boys are a drug right?) I can sneak by everyone!! ;D
And if they catch me and break my legs I'll just use my super stimpacks to heal myself.

Hydra, Steady and Cateye.
(I love to use the cateye and datura and pretend my guy is having a serious psychedelic trip)
-
I want some CAN-D or CHEW-Z, from Philip K. Dick's "The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch"
Dune's melange would be sweet (spice is nice), but I'd rather just find a way to live on the planet populated by naturalist chemists from the prequel books. Anyone living there would have a limitless pharmacological playground.
The way the milk bar is described in "A Clockwork Orange" presents it as offering a wide variety of additives with a broad range of effects. It seems that dissociatives, stimulants, and (possibly) benzo's are the common fare at the Moloko Bars.
From Anthony Burgess's "A Clockwork Orange":
"...you could peet it with vel-locet, or synthemesc, or drencrom or one or two other vesh-ches which would give you a nice quiet horror show..."
And then they were drinking one of the "one or two other vesh-ches", presumably a stimulant.

The Magic Cake in EarthBound. Black out, trip out and see an Asian prince undergo ego death, who then joins you in real life.

vellocet = opiate,
synthemesc = synthetic mescalines, (2c-x chems?)
drencrom = adrenochrome.
