Title: Moneypak and Paypal instead of Bitcoin
Post by: uber1337hax on August 14, 2011, 12:31 am
Ok, so I was talking to one of the vendors and he said he accepts payment through Paypal.
I was thinking of buying a Moneypak card and putting money on it, transferring it to my Paypal account and paying for the product via Paypal.
Is this safe? I don't want to use Bitcoin because I don't have a bank account to use for Dwolla.
I was just wondering if this was safe and if any of you have done it this way before?

unless you have an account with paypal under a fake name, and you go to it using Tor, then it's not safe! PayPal puts your name, and the recepient's name in the transaction history.

Better get bitcoin, filter them through a tumbler or an instawallet and get stuff from SL that way.

Not only is the entire PayPal system currently rife with scams,  getting you to send payment via PayPal is a favorite of scammers on these forums.  They use stolen or hacked accts. to receive your payment and in return you'll receive nothing.
