Should they really be forcing all of us n00bz into one spot like goddamned animals?
I suppose it's probably fair.
;D

I'm gonna break...
I'm gonna break my...
I'm gonna break my rusty caaaage! 8)
I find it pretty pointless to limit new users to the noob section because, as you can see, most just spam up to 50 quickly and defeat the purpose.
-
Yes, here we are. Spamming our way into the real conversations.
I believe the kids like to call it 'putting in work' - ermmm, something like that.
-
Yeeeah boy, we puttin' in work!
Eh, I just sound foolish, I'll leave that kind of talk to the kids..
-
I don't mind.. I think it's lifted the tone of conversation in the main forums, and stopped the spam :)
-
It still requires some effort and time to get to 50, so I can see the point. It will at least discourage the lazy trolls and wankers a bit.
-
Not that big of a problem
-
i don't know if this newbie restriction has elevated the conversation in the fora, but it definitely has diminished the conversation here. -- me included. ; )
-
I literally only use the forum to look in the rumor mill, ask questions about purchases, or post reviews on purchases.
Using the forums that way, I have not earned that many posts. I also didn't see any messages that would have alerted me to the new post restriction because of that. It's annoying because I've been trying to figure out how my browser broke, and ended up going to reddit to find out (yeah, that's me).
I think that whatever they were trying to solve, they could have solved with less than a 50-post limit, which would have still weeded out the ones it could do that to, yet not bother any of the "newbies" that are just lurkers.
however, complaining won't do anything, so here goes a bunch of spam so I can finally leave the stellar reviews for my shroom guy that he deserves.

I been on this forum as an observer for months, i just wish i had participated so when I actually needed help i wasnt stuck here. Advice for any noobs browsing the forum, start posting shit
-
I think you have to pay dues to get into any cool club.
I just found my way here, so there is plenty to read anyway.
-
Yea, it's quite annoying.
I've been here for well over a year and have done several transactions, not in the amounts of most probably but I'm just buying for myself.
Now I'm stuck posting but not trying post completely useless drivel.
I guess it prevents the people from spamming useless sites like I've seen.
-
I can see the reason, but as it stands there are some unintended consequences...
Previously the number of posts was a somewhat useful metric for how new a person was to the forum. Now new people feel obliged to quickly spam 50 messages, which means that having 50 posts doesn't really mean anything. A person with 50 posts is now just as likely to be a new person who has spammed "hello" 50 times.
Another unintended consequence is that this encourages new people to write anything on any topic, even when they have nothing to say. Not sure if that will improve the quality of conversation in the long run.
-
It does people more aware of their accounts though, but ofcourse it also get people spamming, could have(lets say 30 posts) but more strict rules about spamming to get there, if you spam to much you get a penalty of 30 more, or a week, something..
1 post less :)

I find this ridiculous, this "restriction" should have been thoroughly thought out before being rolled out and nullified for vendors or something. I am a vendor on The Road and just came out of a long vacation and can't even let members know I am back. This is very bad for business and defiantly needs to be looked over, I messaged admins but with there 100+ messages a day I highly doubt they are even going to look over my message. However IF BY ANY CHANCE ANY MODS OR ADMINS ARE READING THIS PLEASE PASS DOWN THE LINE TO FIX THIS ISSUE FOR VENDORS. We pay our tax's for a reason.
Cheers,
Lexq

On one hand, I find it kind of silly, considering the legwork required to even get here in the first place, register for accounts, set up bitcoins, etc etc etc etc... but on the other hand, I'm sure plenty of us are familiar with John Gabriel's "Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory" (Anonymity + Keyboard + Audience = "SHITCOCK!"). So, hopefully this is a way for people to A: get cred, B: get acquainted with other new arrivals, and C: get anything ridiculous out of their system, and D: ensure that you actually intend to be here, and intend to post here in a meaningful manner?
-
Idk it seems like a bit of a high requirement. E.g. 25 posts would accomplish the same thing from an anti-spam perspective etc.
-
need 50 posts ffs!
-
I don't really 'like' the 50 restriction, but I see the wisdom in it. 1st post yay me
-
I don't like it. I don't mind making an effort, but there must be a better way than making us waste our time. This post is a good way to get there. ;)
-
Well now I am on my way, post number 1!

If it were not for Bevis and Butthead that band would be shit, because they are (only my opinion). that being said, I have been over 50 posts and I do not see any other posting options. We're nubs for a reason. And I never spam. I try to keep shit fun and informative. I do ramble, though. wacka wacka wacka!

I don't give a shit, I just want to figure out what the fuck I did wrong with my Tor Browserbundle, I uninstalled and reinstalled bacause it never worked properly and now it is FUBAR.
This is fucking insane, I can't figure out what I did to screw my computer up with Tor, but I am not going to get any answers in this forum, so I may as well post like mad in to get the hell out of here...
I'm in prison....with idiots....fuck. It's like living in a Taylor Swift/Justin Beiber music video or something.
Anyone want to tell me why I can't access Tor...it says I am connected via the Tor Relay that I installed...but I don't have any luck getting a browser to pop up.
-
I kind of like it to be honest lol if it wasn't for the noob section I would still feel like a noob. At least now after reading a couple of posts I've retained some key information to place an order and how to receive an order, where to buy BTC etc........the only thing I can complain about this is the fact there is a boat load of spam but everyone already knows about that :/

Do not take this to heart, as I started with the browser through my main c drive. But, I honestly feel that torbrowser is bad business. I went and downloaded Liberte, I put it on a flash drive. I followed the instructions to a T. It is a little slower, however. I feel much better using it. I hear Tailz is good too use as well, I do not know. I did not research it. I know that I boot up from my flash drive. And, if you do not know how to do that. You should prob back off until you do. First step is learning how to do this correctly, and that takes a little nerdy shit. That torbrowser is convienent, but, Yeah. Things at conveintent stores are expensive for a reason. Because you pay for that convienence. That's what happens when you use that shit on windows. It's wideeeee open, Either that, or encrypt every fucking thing with truecrypt. Liberete has built in pgu, I mean how can you beat opening your browser and you're automatically hidden?
-
CERTAINLY DOES SEEM POINTLESS, I JUST WANT TO GET GOING!!! :'( :'( :'( ;)
-
See, you prob thought you were going to get that browser and be fucking stoned 3 hours later, as if you were putting a pizza order in online right? me too. A lot of reading proved me wrong. And you do not wanna do this wrong. I am not saying you have or whatever. I just know it is not as easy as it may appear in whatever you read or heard to get you too this point is all. I mean hell, I do not think I have it right to be honest with you. I just started here last....Thursday I think it was...I just made my first purchase today. I have read where people take months to get to where they actually can do it properly. So be paitent. take constructive critisism and do your work.
Have fun, if I can assist you in anyway please let me know. I can give you only what I have learned through asking and applying. There has been some trial and error, questioning. I find the techie shit a lot of fun though. Nearly as much fun as this site and it's marvel.

It does achieve two functions though:
1-Stops there from being endless noob threads in the rest of the forum.
2-Puts off really uncommitted scammers.
-
not a fan
-
I had no clue about why the 50 spam threads were all over in the newb forums till I hit about 55 posts. It was the least of my concerns of what I was doing right.
I hope they do not change a thing. I got my 50 by asking if I was doing the business end right. It was a win, win. I made a couple spammy type thready similar too this one, like this one, I tried to keep it going and at least entertaining for those who read it. Even if I was way high and saying we todd ed shit. It was fun. This thread has been too. Cheers! =)

so true
-
I did not realize vendors were thrown in with us regular folks. I figured they would give you something where you could sign in as a vendor status and be able to access the proper forums.
-
I figure it's a necessary evil. We don't enjoy it, but it means everyone else (and ourselves when the time comes) can enjoy the rest of the forum free from all our useless nattering trying to work out the very basics of the system.
I'm trying my best to not sink to spamming; I just think it's annoying to see. Hopefully it'll mean other users realise I'm trying to be a valuable member on here and trying to give something back. :)
-
yeah it hard to get up to 50 posts, not just writing too much bullshit. ive just been reading for 3 weeks and trying to learn as much as i can. i think nearly every possible situation has been discussed, somewhere in here amongst the billions of spam posts. its just a matter of finding the relevant info, and that takes time.
now we wait for the drugs :)
