Sure is!  :) www.localbitcoins.com lists mins and max $ you can buy off each exchange or company.

Not sure about localbitcoins. What about on Mtgox? Are they good? Seems easy to use. Thanks for your response.

You can buy anything from £1 upwards on localbitcoins.com, i,ve used it for ages and never had a problem, over 30 transactions. You can also click on the sellers name and see when they were last online and their stats are next to their name. Takes me usually 5mins to do a bank transfer  ;)

Yup, from pretty much any exchange that has been listed.  You can buy in even smaller increments than that.

international bank transfer to japan, from your own bank account. Not quite that easy, albeit not illegal it will give a link back to you should you ever be caught with drugs/tor/SR details etc on your pc +)

Appreciate the responses everyone. Think I'll try bitinstant, coinbase, maybe localbitcoins, just want to pay through the bank.
