Title: SHOPPING CART OUTRAGE
Post by: astronoid on April 10, 2012, 01:19 am
   Hi 2 All,
I'm opening this read here as its so fucking pitiful that it needs to be addressed and read by as many of you as possible.

I had a reluctant suspicion ever since the moment SR added the secondary pin.  Now I can justifiably corroborate that suspicion.  In the weeks leading up to Christmas, I placed two orders PRIOR to the implementation of a secondary pin.  They worked without a glitch.  Over the course of the past two weeks, I've attempted to place an order with a highly reputable cannabis vendor(CN.)   When choosing the listed "free shipping" option, and attempting to update the cart(or even not update the cart) with that option selected, THE PAGE WOULD RESET.  That's fine and jim dandy if there's no pin involved, as there's nothing to lose.  But what wasn't being disclosed anywhere on the continuously resetting page, was that golly geehee, every FUCKING time that page now resets, its counted against me as one opportunity to get my pin correct, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ALREADY CORRECT.

So because SR has a shopping cart that doesn't work properly, my account is FROZEN for a full week, until I can reset my pin, which, yes, you guessed right, was ALREADY CORRECT to begin with.  Get this, I make it through the week, luckily my bitcoins didn't take a tumble in the meantime, and I'm right back to square one, ready to place the very same order.  I get right back to the shopping cart, and the same goddamn thing happens again.  The only difference is this time I don't wait for the obligatory five or six page resets to occur before I take the risk of getting another message from SR Support saying "hum de dum...in an effort to MITIGATE PHISHERS, we've temporarily seized your assets, not because you've gotten your pin incorrect, but because OUR SHOPPING CART DOESN'T ROLL ON FOUR WHEELS.  No, instead, I get so pissed off that I have to write this needless diatribe to enlist others' attention to a problem that nothing is being done about.  I'd love to know how many have had their bitcoins seized permanently because of SR's TRICK shopping cart.

This secondary pin doesn't "MITIGATE PHISHERS"...its mitigated the outrage of the community who uses your service.  Either get rid of it, or get my GODDAMN ORDER placed hassle free....service with a smile.   -Astro

Is it bad that I registered for an account for the sole purpose of writing an honest (albeit "are you fucking serious"-esque) response, thought better of it, yet am now tempted to feed the troll?

Damn, bro...  You mad?

It's ok, I would be, too.  I've never experienced the glitch you're talking about.  I choose the shipping option, enter my encrypted address and PIN, and all goes well.

What I can tell you is that SR isn't going to permanently keep your coin.

Also, I have had PIN issues in the past, and a simple, polite message to SR admin got the problem worked out in less than 24 hours.  I did this, however, before my account was locked out for a week- I still had two tries left.  I realize you didn't know initially that this was counting against your number of incorrect PIN attempts, but you do now, so maybe you can rectify the situation before it happens again.

Maybe it's some kind of glitch or bug that is happening only with your account.  Have you tried sending SR support a message?  They're usually pretty helpful...

yeah...definitely contacted them.  Its the recurrence of the problem which led to this post, knowing that if I didn't draw attention to it, nothing would happen.  I wanted it on record at least, for whoever else might be experiencing it.  Continuously freezing accounts for weeks due to a faulty checkout isn't the answer.    -Astro

This actually sucks pretty hard.  I've only got a try or two left unless they reset at some point.

Yeah, I don't think locking accounts for a week is cool.

You seriously waited an entire week and then let the same thing happen to you? Why didn't you simply message the admins with your pin, explaining the situation? I'm sure it would have got you better results than simply waiting without finding a solution for a week + then posting a gigantic complaining post on the forums.

Contacting the admins got me a solution in less than an hour. What is it with people in our world today and this inability to solve problems? We all just complain.

It must be a bug on your account end, I have had nothing but a seamless transition from non pin to pin in over 50 transactions.
And seeing by the slow responce from the community, it doesn't seem to be a wide spread problem with the cart.
In MHO I would agree with the poster's above that recommend to work this out with  the admins.
Just my 3 cents.

*snip*

The only difference is this time I don't wait for the obligatory five or six page resets to occur before I take the risk of getting another message from SR Support saying "hum de dum...in an effort to MITIGATE PHISHERS, we've temporarily seized your assets, not because you've gotten your pin incorrect, but because OUR SHOPPING CART DOESN'T ROLL ON FOUR WHEELS.

I originally interpreted this along the lines of 5 or 6 "failed" attempts within a session (or some reasonable window of time, e.g. 24 hours or something like that,) hence the snark. Are you instead saying you get a set number of "lifetime" attempts before they put you on ice?

Ironically enough, I lost the password to that first account...I don't even think it was an hour old...lol.
