Title: Snus from Sweden
Post by: dupas on July 20, 2013, 12:53 am
hi!
I would love to order some Swedish snus! Are there some Swedish vendor that would like to earn some money by shipping snus to other  European countries?
A few years ago it was possible for non-Swedes to order Swedish Match snus. Sadly, nowadays it's forbidden. It would be so great to see a snus listing :)

Do you know if it's still available in Finland? I know it's popular but have no idea about availability.
If it is I could setup a listing

No, idea! I didn't even know that it was available in Finland.
It would be nice to taste some General white portion again :)

I know it's popular here but now that I looked it's because people pick it up on the cruises and it's not officially available :/

Has somebody came across a Swedish vendor on SR? Maybe a vendor from Sweden that already has a vendor account would be interested in putting up a snus listing ... That would be so great!

Given that it's not actually illegal, isn't it available on the Clearnet - or is it now illegal for Swedish sites to send to countries where it's not available for sale?

I would say it is almost illegal in the EU, excluding Sweden and Denmark (only lös). You can bring it from Sweden and its legal to use and posses, but shipping it to other EU countries is illegal. Most Swedish online snus stores dont even send any snus to EU, hence I am very disappointed by the lack of snus in SR. As far as I know odensnus.eu (GN Tobacco) is the only open site that sends to EU, I once ordered and a shitload of customs trouble was the result, plus they only have their own products, no Swedish Match products or anything good.

There is only one seller selling cans (1) of Skruf Extra Sterk for an utterly ridiculous price of 46,33 € at the currect exch. rate. I dont know how expensive Skruff is but I am quite sure you can buy 10 cans of it in Sweden with the same money, so its insane!

Snus is legally available is Norway also, but SWE has roughly half the price for most products. A General pack of snus sells for about 40SEK over these. This would be a pretty decent oppertunity for some swe vendors to make a profit. I could try to mail you it from norway, but that would be a little more expensive (like 70-80NOK per box)

Still a lot better than that price you found online!

Yes I know about Norway, expensive just like everything in Norway. I was in Sweden this year and the prices were 4-5 €, depending on how much you buy and where. 7-11 etc might be over 5 €. Not exactly cheap in Sweden ether. I didnt buy any of the cheap stuff. (V2, Odens etc.)

Outside of a few countries in the EU it's illegal to buy/import snus? And no portions? I'm presuming they sell cigarettes and not snus in such places? If this is so it's craziness.

In the USA I've seen General products for 99 cents a can, I guess to encourage dippers / smokers to give snus a try. I have a portion of General wintergreen in as I type this and in two hours I'm gonna put a white portion in.

Apparently, these governments fear that they will be exposing their public to another addictive form of tobacco, despite the fact it is meant to be 100 times LESS harmful than cigarettes. They allow nasal snuff, which is also considerably less harmful than cigs, but not snus. It could improve the health of a countries population but politicians can be very illogical and bloody-minded when it comes to many things.

Lol, but putting it in chewinggun and patches is fine -- as long as there's a big pharmaceutical company behind it

Exactly!  ::) But e-cigs are tolerated too. I would have thought they have a similar risk to snus, as far as its addictive potential is concerned. Snus must have saved countless deaths in Scandinavia, by helping smokers switch to an almost harmless alternative. There are as many Snus users in Sweden as there are smokers, so there must also be a significant reduction of smokers in this country.
