Will there ever be the possibility of 'shipping insurance'? An option to purchase shipping insured against the loss of the product.
It could work like a regular insurance company, with premiums based on both stats for vendors and buyers successful receipt of packages. A 20% of purchase price base premium seems seems reasonable, with the base price increasing or decreasing based on stats.
Assuming that better than 4 out of 5 packages get through, this could be a money spinner for some SR entrepreneur.
Any thoughts?

not a bad idea, the only problem would be up front investment. That would take a lot of money, and idk if any one would be willing to front that up front.

Now I come to think of it, if the goods are not received there should be some sort of excess to be paid as well, to avoid moral hazard.
