Anyone out there interested in exchanging torrent tracker invites. I have an IPtorrents.com invite and with the current attacks from LE I think it would be beneficial to have access to multiple trackers.
I would also like to hear what methods for anonymonity ppl are using as well as any good reads/information based on bit torrent. I use transmission on a VBox running Linux. I send it through mullvad. Lets hear what the SRF can come up with.

if you want real security get yourself access to a scene ftp dump. that is really the safest and quickest way to get releases, much faster then pretty much all trackers besides a select few private ones which run their own ftps. you should also get your own server, not just a vbox, and run rutorrent, its much better. you also shouldn't just come on here and ask for invites, if you actually want to join another tracker, build up your stats on ipt, start getting on irc and make friends with people, and then maybe you will get invited onto some better sites. theres also a few trackers that have irc invite channels, where you can go in there and apply for an invite.

I'm looking into a scene ftp dump. I am not familiar with this. I have just been using IPT up until now and it is amazing IMO. The recent take down of Demoind has got me wondering who they are going after next.
I'm also not familiar with rutorrent. How is having my own serve going to protect my privacy? Please enlighten me.
All of this is good info and what I was looking for by starting this thread. Thanks for the info.

waffles.fm looks like a pretty cool site. Disguised as a cooking wiki... love it.
broadcasthe.net also looks interesting.
Are these just general torrent trackers or do they specialize in a specific form of media? (music, programs, sports etc etc...)

have invite to funfile and bacon bits. what do yall got
how does waffles compare to what btw? I'm only on what.cd

having your own server makes it in your full control, the real way to protect yourself is to be on private trackers that are harder to get onto. i'm not longer on waffles, i let my account there die from inactivity because i use what much more. what.cd has 1,489,899 torrent currently with a ton of flac for the quality lovers. its my go to music site, however, unless you have a server or seedbox of some kind, it is pretty hard to keep a good ratio. if your on what, you don't need to be on waffles. btn is a great tv only site, friendly staff, quick speeds, and its easy to keep a positive ratio because of the way they are set up. the best 0-day tracker currently around is scc, hands down no compition. if sct was still around, i would say sct, but that sadly is no longer here :( ipt is a general p2p tracker, with both scene relases and p2p releases, i don't know too much about it anymore as i no longer have an account due to inactivity. i would recommend torrentleech as a general/p2p tracker over ipt. it has a huge huge huge user base which gives it top speeds, as well as decent pre times, and a huge selection of p2p releases. i won't give out any invites to any sites, as that would reveal my identity way to easily, however, i will answer any questions about various trackers if you have any questions.

Ya, really have to work at it to keep a good ratio on IPT. If there were not freeleach torrents I wouldn't stand a chance. I often wonder if being behind a VPN effects my ability to seed. Know any sort of connectivity issues a VPN may create?

Not familiar with scc. Going to have to check it out. As long as the torrents show up by the time the torrent material shows up to the public I'm pretty happy. Getting them before everyone else is not necessarily an issue for me. I'm more interested in finding the torrents I want.

General p2p tracker? You mean they have torrents with various sorts of media? Are all trackers p2p trackers?

same as what.cd
I think they compliment each other nicely, whatever I can't find on one I can usually find on the other. What.cd wins in terms of site layout though, it's organized quite nicely.

if you have trouble keeping a good ratio on IPT, most other sites are not going to be good for you as IPT is one of the easiest to seed on. just a tip with getting a good ratio quickly, download the most popular stuff( TV shows, Movies) as soon as they are uploaded so that you can upload to everyone else who wants to see it.
general/0-days means it has all sorts of things on there that are uploaded to the site the day they are released. it means it has tv shows, movies, music, programs, etc. as opposed to a site like what.cd that is only music, or BTN which is only TV. now, p2p means that the tracker has both scene releases and p2p releases. scene releases are releases from scene groups that have to hold to a specific set of rules created by that scene. scene releases are originally uploaded to "top sites" which are ftp servers( usually a minimum 10tb with no maximum size. i've been on some that were 15tb and some that were close to a petabyte because of their archive) and from there, people with access to those servers will upload them onto torrent sites. this behavior is strictly frowned upon by the actual groups that are involved in the scene. now, p2p releases are release from normal people, an example of a p2p release would be anything from axxo, or imagine( who was recently busted btw). p2p groups are not involved with "top sites", and do not have to adhere to the same rules as scene groups. if you want more info about the scene and that stuff, i suggest you read articles from torrentfreak.

0-day general stuff. Yes to all of the above, plus apps, games, some ebooks

That's what I have started doing lately. That and just keeping up with the freeleach torrents.
The problem I have is that after I download my files I typically like to transfer them to another HD that is not connected to my network. So I like to seed as quickly as possible. It just comes down to patients for me.

Sounds like scene releases are where its at then.
