Title: Trying to get started and install GPGTools but have Mountain Lion. Alternatives?
Post by: ahappyending on August 21, 2012, 01:53 am
Hey all. I'm new here and struggling with this step. I've gone ahead and installed GPGTools anyway, and proceeded to make an ID and etc. But the homepage specifically stipulates that it doesn't work on Mountain Lion.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

I really hoped that I could start purchasing stuff on SR in time for Electric Zoo... Is that an impractical expectation anyway?

Thanks in advance!

hey!  i have Mountain Lion as well and just yesterday started setting everything up with GPGTools.  it all works just fine if you use, as Guru directed me to, the nightly builds which can be found here:  https://nightly.gpgtools.org/

sure enough, works perfectly as far as i can tell thus far!

the only thing that MAY not work is the mail plugin, but you can easily set up Thunderbird + Vidalia + Enigmail to work with the GPGTools .... there are several great threads on the forum to help you set that up.  i have mine set up with Tormail.

agreed - your suggestion of Vidalia + Thunderbird + Enigmail + GPGTools is the way to go.
