I appreciate that vendors must take significant precautions to clean their dough.
But to what extent should buyers try to hide the connection between their real-world identities and bitcoin transactions? If one's acquisition of bitcoins is trivially linked to a payment card or bank account, what steps would you take to hide that connection before making purchase? Or do you take steps to prevent such linkage in the first place (e.g. purchasing via cash in hand/post)?

Just for kicks I like to send it through various "cloud based" wallets, and in the end send it back to my harddrive in pieces. You loose little fractions of btc along the way, but it leaves me with that piece of mind that I've at the least broken it up throughout the chain a bit.
I might be wrong on this though.
