Title: Bitcoins -> SR
Post by: proxanne on May 22, 2013, 09:21 pm
Hi.

I need some help getting bitcoins to my SR wallet.

At this point I will be using bitinstant... though I'm not sure how.
From what I understand: I fill out a deposit form on Bitinstant, print it off, take it to walmart and fill out a money gram... ?  I might be able to work it all out but its all unfamiliar to me so if anyone could give me some instructions or advice that would be so very helpful.

Thx.

You can use bitinstant to a bitcoins address, yes, but to get it to your SR wallet you should really use a service like bitcoin fog to tumble your coins and eliminate any connection they have to you.

Sounds like you have the right idea.  I would suggest cvs if you have one close by they are quicker and easier to do moneygrams.

Okay, so I may have fucked up.

I did: bitinstant -> bitinstant to address -> used my SR bitcoin address -> payed via moneygram at walmart

Did I do everything right?  Its been at least an hour since I made the payment and there are no BTC in my SR account.

It can take a few hours sometimes.  Check blockchain.info and enter your btc address it will tell you how many confirmations you have, it can anywhere from 6 to 12 confirmation before it shows up in our account.

You may want to change your SR btc address every so often, many people like to use bitinstant to send to another wallet, then transfer to SR.  People send directly to SR too but you can never be too careful.

Thanks for the fast reply.  There are 4 confirmations and the entire amount is shown in the transaction. But it's still not in my SR wallet.

I may use bitcoin fog in the future.

I like bitcoin fog because it gives me complete peace of mind regarding any kind of paper trail. It's so worth the 1-3% fee.
