Title: Thoughts on a Silk Road Bitcoin Exchange ?
Post by: PerfectScans on June 10, 2013, 07:51 pm
Many posts and people wanting to buy BTC to load to SR

many vendors wanting to turn their BTC into cash.

Is there not a major opportunity here for a silkroad bitcoin exchange ?

BMR are trialling something similar and I think with enough thought, it could be executed safely and well for all concerned.

your thoughts please ?

That would probably just bring too much extra attention, extra reason to bring SR down.

Wouldn't it have the same problems as the other exchanges, i.e. paper trail? The fiat in an SR exchange account still has to get to you IRL somehow.

I think they are/will try and fail to bring SR down whatever.

An SR exchange would not use banks or wire transfers, unless vendors wanted too. It would be no different to bitcoins changing hands for drugs/services.

Simply cash and or moneypak, or other anon cash ways for bitcoin all handled in the same escrow/feedback way. Bitcoin vendors already are smart enough to use anon mail drops to receive cash if they choose. and the buyer gets their coins.

BMR are trialling it already and SR is in much better postion to do so and make it work.

Is BMR another hidden marketplace? I don't understand how what you describe is different from what SR already has. There is a category of listings for money, they mail cash/moneypack and your BTC go in escrow...
