sorry to ask, searched but still not sure.
Is it good practice to PGP encrypt any messages i send to vendors via the SR pm system? i don't want to irritate any vendors with my freakish n00b powers.
Also, I've read the guide that says buy 5 ebooks so sellers will let you stay in the escrow system, isn't that just what a scam buyer would do? i feel it would be better to take the risk of making 5 small purchases and FE with reputable vendors. correct me if im wrong.
Thanks for accepting my profound lack of awesomeness ;) :P

It's up to you what you consider private information. If you don't want anyone but the vendor to read it, encrypt it. We have lots of threads like this, here's just one of the recent ones: dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=21940

No, don't do that, a vendor can see how much money you've spent, so yes, you'll just look like a scammer. I would also recommend not finalizing early for anyone, ever. Find yourself a reputable vendor who will let you stay in escrow despite your n00bness.

Sometimes the vendor will list on their page what their preference is for PGP communications. Generally, for general questions, plain text is fine, in my opinion.
Always encrypt your address.
Point 2: NEVER FE AS A CONDITION OF THE SALE, FIND ANOTHER VENDOR. Be prepared to get burned and be sure you are able to afford the loss if you do FE. Don't whine if you get burned from an FE transaction. If I like the vendor an have done business in the past, I may FE as MY OPTION. But I never will when asked to.
