Title: Should I Trust This New Vendor??
Post by: reeki789 on January 05, 2013, 01:57 am
La Familia SR joined 18hours ago, has no transactions. Should i trust him?
'
Considering getting something from him because he has the cheapest price.

He says no FE, so i'm thinking i might as well give him a shot? Unless someone has a good reason for me not to?...

Cheers.

Only spend a small amount that way if he/she sends you an empty package and escrow resolution goes 50/50
you still would have an empty package plus loss of the 50%

Take baby steps with "new" vendors...start small till they prove their trust

yup i'll go ahead and take his virginity haha. i'll let people know how it goes. he seems like a nice person from our little chat.

And ya i'm just getting a somewhat small amount. I would have to FE if i got what i planned to get, but that's risky...

He can't ask for FE until he has 35 transactions

i would say just to shoot them a few messages to get an idea of the vendor's character, obviously it isn't fool proof, you'll have to use some judgement.

On top of that, isn't it something like $475 to purchase a vendor account now?  I doubt this person would spend that much to rip you off on their first order, especially when nearly all their listings are significantly less than $475.

Give it a shot I'd say.

Sometimes it pays to take a chance on a new vendor.  But of course you should trust no one.  No need to trust a vendor to do business with him.  If you like what you see, go for it, but keep it in escrow.

New vendors often have the best deals, and the beauty of escrow is that you don't have to trust them :)
I often try out new vendors, they are usually eager to impress you with their wares and service, though you do take a chance with unproven stealth shipping.
