Title: Some help?
Post by: Norma on May 30, 2013, 03:53 pm
Hi there,

This is the second time I've used SR, bought my bitcoin and wanted to transfer over. I thought I might change my SR address, just in case, but the page got stuck, and when I refreshed (a couple of times), the address stayed the same, so I went ahead and did the transfer. Now I went in to my account page, and my deposit address is different.. Will the coins I sent to my 'old' address get to me now? If not, how can I fix this???

Thanks!

I believe I read on the site that if you used the old address it will still get to your account.. It just takes a while..I have seen it take 2 - 3 hours to show from mt gox to SR ..

As always, use functions like refresh and back with care. It could re post a request that doesn't include forum data so your standard browser won't stop it.

if on the off chance your coins dont show up ....then at the bottom right corner of your SR page you can contact support. However...since ya chnged yur BTC Addy   i would wait 6 hours minimum before contacting support.
Also..there have been some support delays....so expect them  :P

Anyhow, for what it's worth....next time you get coins to your SR account be sure Not to change yur addy :P

Hope this has Helped ya & Good Luck to ya  (Hugs)

Thanks for all the replies!

I'm feeling much better about it all now, although blockchain.info says transaction is confirmed, but balance on SR hasn't changed yet, and was hoping to get a delivery sent out today..
Have already posted in support forum, was a bit anxious!  :-[ will delete that now..

will go have a splif and come back in a while to check..  ;)

Yeah I think the best thing to do is send the BTC before you go to sleep and then they should have arrived by next morning usually  :)

Remember...you have to have 6 confirmations on blockchain...then your coins will be tumbled more so before you get them into your SR account...this could take some time. For some people it takes 30 minutes to an hour...for others it takes 6 + hours....patience is indeed a virtue  ;)

Well, patience is not something I have a lot of!  ::)
Not a bad idea to do it all before bed, and I did start a good few hours ago, but the guy I got my coins from last time has stopped selling, so had to find a new seller.. Also, I'm pretty poor, so like to buy as exact amount of Bitcoin as I can, as I don't use it for anything else, and I only shop on sr on occasion..

Got 4 confirmations now, so at least things are moving!

Before bed would be the best way..but those of us that worry would then end up checking when ya wake up in the middle of the night..

I'm not the only one then!  :P

I thought I could avoid this taking ages by waiting till after bank holiday, but now it's gonna go in to the weekend again, so in for a long wait anyway!

But hey, can't really complain, sr is a life saver!

0.002 ltc or 0.002 btc ?

when would you be able to pay back if it is bitcoins that you need?
Title: Re: Some help?
Post by: Norma on May 30, 2013, 05:45 pm
Have ฿2.848, need ฿2.85 (as long as rate doesn't change drastically).. Basically, when I was calculating how much I would need, I forgot about the ฿0.06 delivery charge..
I could probably just buy what I'm missing, but it's such a pain.. do people even sell such small amounts?

1) i will repost this in the spare coin thread for you.
2) i will lend you the 0.06 that you need, i will need you SR screen name.

if that's ok with you ...then it's a go and you will have the coins in a couple minutes  :)

Well, that sounds very helpful! I don't actually need the full 0.6, just 0.002 to make up to 2.85.. My sr name is also Norma.
Thanks a lot for your help!

Spare Coin thread:  http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=65125.msg1179611#msg1179611

To Pay Back, while on your SR account Click "Account" top middle of page.
Within "Account" you will see.... at the bottom .."Send bitcoins to another member:"
within the first box you can type my name ChemCat (case Sensitive) then in the next box you can put in the amount that you're sending back :) then in the next box you must put your "Pin" number and click "Send"

Easy Peasy  ;)

Hope This has Helped ya  (Hugs)

Peace,

ChemCat

Ok, figured it all out.. Coins on the way to sr, and then straight to you.. Could have probably managed on my own (had to buy more coins after all!), but it's good to know there are folks around who are happy to help.

Have a good evening!

Cheers ChemCat, just sent you your coins back!
Thanks for all the info, I might have to get to it another time (next time I use sr), as my back is killing me from sitting in front of the pc all day!
What is the real risk of giving sender my address without encryption? I don't use my real name, but am practically house bound, so can't really use any other address.. As I said before, I don't use the site often, but if I guess if I got a better hang of it, I might..

The Risk of not using PGP or the GPG4USB in my Sig. is that if you do  not encrypt your addy to your vendors ..you run the risk of your personal info dropping into the hands of LE if on the off chance one of your vendors gets nicked  :o

So, yes....in my opinion...you should get the hang of it for your own safety :)

it only takes about an hour to learn and you will raise your p[ost count while doing so as well as meet some awesome helpful people Here~~~~~>  http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=107219.0
