@HH:       SOS is SafeorScam.com

It was a decent safety net for smart people that bought RCs on the Clearnet. But I think for the most part people will agree with me that once you go SR you never go back to that sketchy shit...... especially after the bicycle day massacre.

... That's a good point, actually.

SoS was still relevant in the early days of SR, though. Back when GoldisMoney[mescaline-vendor, selective scammer until he had a big group-buy go through, then he ups and disappears] was selling mescaline, there was a lot of worry because of his SoS page saying lots of bad things about him... then he disappeared.

But now? We have the SR forums, so you're right. SoS is worthless, now.

I know that group buys can be very lucrative when they are successful. But I personally have heard way to many horror stories to get caught up in group buy.

Ohhh safeorscam. Yeah I use them a lot actually (obviously). But what do you mean by referrals? I'm actually pretty unfamiliar with the system.

And I knew SR was on sos (checked for fun at one point) but never knew each individual vendor was on there. Weird.

I think that you need a referral to actually sign up. And than you can add reviews and comments and other stuff.

But I am not even sure i would trust them anymore. Who knows if it didn't get taken down with EK and woot and everyone else. and the LE are keeping it up to harvest IPs. Especially if SR and its individual vendors are on it. It makes me very uneasy to even look up anything about the silk road on the clearnet. let alone leave a review of a vendor that could be used to deduce my person.

Or it could be my tinfoil hat talking.

THIS! Fuck the Clearnet and fuck buying drugs on the clearnet from persons that like to think that it's all ok just because it has some sort of jazzy sticker on it. EPIC FAIL! EPIC FAIL! EPIC FAIL!

Oh and what is the bicycle day massacre?

one vendor got snitched on and busted, paranoia set in, that paranoia festered and bred more paranoia, and admins of various sites started shutting shit down for no good reason

the real problems started with the tfm bust around the same though, two of the people who got busted did business with LOTS of people in the private scene. that caused a lot of boards to go offline.

Ok cool, however that doesn't explain why it's called the bicycle day massacre.  :-\

a lot of sites went down during that time and people thought the feds were knocking them all off like web tryp or various honeypot boards, so the term stuck

turned out some were voluntarily shut down and some were coincidentally having server problems, so the name isn't accurate but that's what it's known as i guess

i guess what i'm trying to say is that there were two bicycle day massacres, but the one affecting rc scene was not serious

Ah I get it now.

Seems odd that the Feds didn't go after all the sites IMO. Sounds to me like those boards clearly have enough evidence on them to sink a battleship.

Lol yeah cheaper....but you have to pay via things like credit cards, PayPal and WU and whatever other crazy-ass shit they use. I'd rather pay a bit more and keep my anonymity any day. Dead smart having '50g Benzo Fury" come up on ya monthly statement....not.

Yea. I remember finding those sites first and I noticed that some of the vendors accepted all kinds of weird currencies and there was even a few that would accept Bitcoin. there's one guy I still communicate that has his prices on the higher side (comparable to SR) but  he will basically give my 125% of what I order if I use bitcoin so it averages out.

But I remember see that shit and I was like "What the fuck is a bitcoin?". And then studying about bitcoins led me here. And it all coincided so wonderfully with Me getting scared to shit by the BDM.

@ Limitless:
To clear up the whole BDM thing a bit more. It started with W007 (From EuphoricKnowledge) getting busted importing kilos of RCs (and I think some illegal drugs as well) and he was also getting on skype talking about human consumption and what not.

When the hammer dropped on him. He tried to reposition it to fall on another vendor and EK as a whole.
But everyone caught wind of what was going on quick and ran like cockroaches. most of them are just now peeking out from beneath the fridge to see if the coast is clear.

And apparently there was also some Spice/Bath Salts headquarters that got raided in Jacksonville, FL at the same time. and some others as well

I think that it was basically, a poorly planned WebTryp 2.0 and they were going after an underground scene that had already learned the hard way back in the 90s. SO it ultimately failed with nothing more to show but a couple of arrests and another pathetic case of "The United States v.s. <insert-name-here>"

You can find out more info by googling:
United States v. Justin Steven Scroggins aka "Woot" and "Dirk McDiggler"
