Title: Renting a Private Mailbox with an Out of State ID
Post by: sickboy on November 18, 2011, 07:02 am
Topic title says it all. I would like to get a different mailbox at like a UPS store or something. I think I can get a fake ID, just not for the state I live in. Does anyone know about this? Would any ID work?

In my state, opening a PO Box at the post office takes two forms of ID:

Driver's License or State ID
Insurance card for house or car
Passport

Some other stuff... if you have those forged then yes, I assume that you could just open one.

Just did some research for United States people...

Appears that FEDERAL law mandates that people applying for private mailboxes (UPS store, Kinkos, whatever) must supply two forms of ID, one of which must include a picture. Also have to fill out a USPS form...
