Title: GBL/GHB - How to store?
Post by: müslix on November 13, 2012, 08:00 pm
I recently got a small amount of GBL (BASF, yada yada) and it's said that it's usually diluted with water, or it should be. It's also said that it dissolves plastic, so pretty soon I can drink my bottle!?

It's not much, 100ml. Should I dilute it with water and store in a glass bottle? or store the pure gbl in a glass bottle?

And why the fuck isn't this stuff sold in glass bottles already ?!

Thanks!

I have stored GBL in a glass vial at room temperature for months at a time, so that is your best bet. Definitely avoid plastic completely. See this erowid reference:

In some countries GBL is sold legally and thus also online. Contact them with questions about shelf life and optimal storage methods/material.

GBL is legal in my country so I intend to buy mine here in the near future:

Either store it in glass container or a plastic container that has 'HDPE' on the bottom.   It isn't good to store it in a regular plastic container/bottle.

I got that far, but thanks! The question is if I should dilute it and since I have added GHB to the question: Should I store this in solution (of what? dH2O? tap water? ...?) and at what ratio?

I've read GHB is usually sold at 1g per 5ml, but there's a medication (can't remember name) selling at 1g:2ml. Can anyone confirm this? Are there any 'best practices' regarding this?

For GBL I assume it's up to one's preference, though safety guides seem to suggest storing as solution, properly marked.

use bottled water IF you are going to dilute it

Hm, I would recommend distilled water instead of bottled water.

If you're going to store pure GBL: use HPDE. LPDE seems ok. But I think over time some chemicals begin to mix into it.

GHB: if all the GBL has really dissolved. PP is fine enough. I wouldn't use anything less though. If there is some undilluted gbl in it, PP will not be good enough.
