Title: Sealing MBB
Post by: Mr Lucy on March 27, 2013, 09:36 pm
Will a hair straighter be enough or should i get a legit heat sealer to completely and securely seal two layers or MBB sheets? I got a vac sealer but only does 2mm width. I want something at least 5mm or between 10-15mm. Where can i get these, or is it even neccessary?
I also want that very professional look :)

The hair straightener will do the job, but if you want professionalism you will have to invest in the sealer.

I guess it works but I don't know if you get a neat, clean job with one. Get a good quality impulse sealer. I leave the edge long and seal three times on each layer of MBB I use.

I bought a very cheap vacuum sealer.. it does the job on normal plastics, but it doesn't heat long enough or hot enough on the MBB... It just bends it haha. It cost me 35 pounds (andrew's vac sealer) =( I am looking for an impulse sealer (preferably 300mm long and at least 5mm thick (10-15mm is ok too) sealing width) Can anyone recommend a place i can order one? I usually find stuff on amazon.co.uk but this time i cant find the impulse sealer with the 5mm width requirement :( Btw it has to be heat adjustable as well ;)

Yeah the MBB's are a little tricky when it comes to sealing and you are using low heat sealers!  try a light industrial sealer, they are all diffrent but the light industials I find to work the best!

Man if you don't seal it with the correct sealer the shit will fuck up.
Buy the heat sealer and set it to 3.75

Does anyone have a 15mm > width> 5mm (8 inch seal length) impulse sealer? Any recommend site/product?
