If bitcoin address is invalid, does the sender get it back? I had to reinstall winxp and old address is gone.
-
If you sent bitcoins to an invalid address then those coins are lost forever.
-
That's why I always make a Wish when I send my coins.....just in case they are lost forever to the great bitcoin fountain somewhere in cyberspace. :-)
I hope it wasn't too many ancientlib :-(

i sent coin to my btc client on my pc, i guess i never had enough connections and blocks because the coins never showed up.
never the less, the coin is gone forever.
i tried instawallet right when it came on-line. the coin i sent immediately showed up at instawallet and to other wallets from instawallet. my paranoia immediately flared-up, which prevents me from using it.
there might be weaknesses that can be exploited, i.e. mybitcoin, it may have been conjured-up by le to keep track of where coins are coming from and where they are going. i don't know, just a paranoid fantasy.

Well, Ive seen problems with btc in any type of wallet...most of mine were just the time it took to get to my desktop, waiting on blocks, all that....I quit all that slowpoke desktop wallet.dat, and use instawallet exclusively, in between SR and whereever I'm getting my btc at....never had a problem with'em....consider'em my main banks now....
