Do you care about stylometrics?

Do any of you guys/gals take security measures against stylometry/language analysis?

We know that they used this on the Dread Pirate Roberts:

On April 1, 2013, Carl Mark Force attempted to blackmail the Dread Pirate Roberts from the Silk Road account DeathFromAbove, saying he knew his real identity. The "real identity" that Force tried to use against DPR was taken directly from the investigation's internal files. This is literally who law enforcement thought DPR was.

We know from the trial that Anand Athavale is the real life identity of mises.org poster "libertystudent," whose blog can be found here. Why did the Silk Road investigation think it was him? A language analysis, that showed both occasionally spelled "a lot" as "alot," "labor" as "labour," "real time" as "real-time," "let me" as "lemme," "phony" as "phoney," and "route" as "rout." Both liked to end sentences with ", right?" Both used terms like "intellectual laziness," "agorism," agorist," "counter-economics," "altruistic," "phoney," "paleo-human," and "anarcho-capitalist."

They also both occasionally used all-caps for emphasis, didn't capitalize the first word in sentence when in a hurry, and used "the symbol for backslash on the computer to split words with similar meaning."

They also discussed authors Murray Rothbard and Samuel Konkin.

Libertarians of the Internet beware. The Feds are watching.

It is safe to say that any reasonable sized vendor/buyer has to deal with this.

Sure do, I phrase what I say here differently than I do in other places. It's a nice thought exercise.

Ross obviously did, a screen shot of his web browser stylometry pages in his bookmark bar. Seems to have worked well for him.

I think it's one of many things that should be on one's opsec toolbox. Stylometry alone won't help if you're posting your real email address on bitcoin forums. However, if that's the only thing they could use to find you, it could end up being a lifesaver. If you have a lot of content on the open internet linked to your IRL identity, then stylometry could be what gets you.

At any rate, the only time they're going to have stylometry experts combing through all your posts is if you're DPR or a high-volume vendor.

Someones speech, or how they type and spell.

It is an excellent way to protect yourself, from a nasty knock and a ring on your doorbell.

[1 Points] None:

Doesn't mean much, anyone can type how they please.

Hell, even Vendor_BBMC or whatever speaks like a literate psychopath.

I believe that stylometric analysis will become a large issue in the future, and will probably be used to deanon vendors/operators/other criminals.

When this issue comes up I always like to plug this tool: anonymouth.
