Some hugs for usps

I know this will be an unpopular opinion but USPS has really gone out of there way for me.

The most impressive was a 1day Express pack (clearnet, 100% legal). Welll I called about 30 mins before there sat noon closing ask it status and they said it got sent to the PO few towns over instead of my local one.

I expressed that they were medical supplies in there that I needed for dressing changes and. A nurse was coming tomorrow (sun) and needed the specialized medical supllies.

Lo and behold they sent the local postmaster to pick it up and then called me to tell it was now in my box. They said if I came after close (12) to knock and someone could get it for me.

The next one while not as mind blowing is I had a packaged taking a tour of the east cost, 1 state at a time. After 4 days I opened incident report, and every day I kept calling ask-usps about it status. They continually provided me with updates and got it to me in 2 more days. Mean while the outfit I ordered from felt so bad they overnighted a replacement order.

In all of this I was very polite and undertsanding. You catch more flies with honey.

The first example blew my mind. That was above an beyond. They made a special trip just to make sure I had said product in time.

Keep in mind I live in a more rural area so some of the Norman Rockwell spirit is alive and well.

You yanks get your feathers ruffled over something completely passive like the post. Imagine if your mail carrier asked you for a signature. Would you run away like you did from your father when he snapped his belt and ran after your tush like a Royal Navy sailor that docked off the coast of Burma?

Speaking of Burma, or is it Myanmar? I'll hand this one over to you, Trappy_Pandora

USPS does have its share of great people. They alos have their fair share of shitty ass dicks. But it is nice when USPS goes out of their way.

to add to that, I once ordered a cell phone online (obviously clearnet) and it was signature required. I rushed home from work to catch the deliver and missed it by like 10 minutes. Drove around the neighborhood to catch the mail carrier and could not find him. So I called the post office location for my area and they said the carrier gets back their at like 4 and they close at 4:30. She told me I can go pick it up tomorrow or drive there and wait since once I'm in I can stay until they finish up (usually like 5 or 6, not sure, but they lock the doors after 4/4:30)

I went there and the guy didn't see it and let me wait. I waited about 30 minutes and a lady ran from the back and asked the guy if someone was asking for a package that missed delivery and he looked like he didn't know what she was talking about. She yelled "Oh fuck, I should have gotten his number!"

I asked her if it's for me and gave her my ID. She smiled and said "YES!"

she was ecstatic to make sure I got it. I tried to tip them both, but they wouldn't take it. People need to understand that these are real people and most strive to do their jobs and do it right. There are some assholes, like my old carrier who was just a dick in general. He has since been replaced by a very nice one (we also give him cold bottled water and he smiles all the time). The majority of them are nice and cool if you just say hello and smile.

I duno, just thought I'd share that, ignore me

I've had some pretty apologetic and helpful postal workers do me solids for packages. I never questioned or called about any darknet packages though, had one get repacked cause of what I only can assume was a sorting machine malfunction.

The letter included stated that it had been destoryed/damaged, and needed to be repackaged. My only qualm with the whole event was it was shipped about 700 miles east, instead of west towards me, to a sorting facility for "repackaging"....no wonder it took 15 days.

The stealth was more then adequate, and the actual drugs were not tampered with at all - props to the vendor for that one. They put it in one of the nicest padded manilla envelopes I've ever seen. Issued a new tracking number, and expressed it to me. Granted it was nearly 15 days from being shipped, but bureaucracy will do its thing.

I wonder if savvy post office marketing employees would do this
