Best place I know of to ask for this advice.

Okay so throwaway for obvious reasons.

Background info

But long story short, a qp of bud was stolen from me at knife point. I wasnt about to get myself hurt over some fucking weed so I let the kid go. Within an hour I had tracked down his family and possible whereabouts. So after getting a couple friends to come along, we went to knock on the door of Evan's parents to tell them that their child fucked up big time and he had one chance to make it right.

The first house that we went to happened to be a former address of his. The confrontation with the new owners prompted them to call the police, and before I could leave the scene, police were there. The officers asked why we were out at 11pm banging on doors and the short version of the story I gave them was that this kid, which I named to them, was meeting me to buy my watch, at which point he held a knife to my throat and said "Dont try anything."

The police eventually let me go and they made contact with Evan, who happens to be known by local law enforcement for the wrong reasons. Evan told them he knew nothing about a watch, but that he thinks his friends stole a lot of marijuana from somebody. The police then contacted me again, and asked if I wished to press charges for the assault. At which point I declined and signed a statement acknowledging such wishes. The officer told me that he thought the situation looked like a drug deal gone wrong, which he wasn't off so I'm positive they know whats up. Why else wouldn't I press charges on somebody attacking me with a knife?

Now that my family & his family have been in contact, his parents have decided that they would like charges pressed on him, and for him to be arrested for the Aggravated Burglary with a Deadly Weapon, which the officer told me the case would be based on.

What do I do at this point? My sister doing most of the talking with the other parties' parents said she talked to her lawyer and he advised that if we followed through with the case, I may have to admit that I was selling 12g of weed, which is only a misdemeanor, possibly only even drug classes for him to be charged with the assault. The lawyer said that the police may not even file charges against me for the pure fact that they've wanted to catch this kid for a while.

I'm lost as fuck as to what to do, I just want to get my money/bud back and pay the least possible repercussions. I realize that this whole situation got so much more complicated when the police got involved but that was never intended.

The police ain't there to help, just hide your bud next time

Holy shit you're fucking retarded

[14 Points] JelloCreationist:

Your money and weed are gone. Do not try to look for it actively. Consider it gone forever.

Edit: you may or may not want to be prepared for retaliation from Evan, when he is free, or his friends. I would say as little as possible to the police, as it seems Evan is already going away for assault with a deadly weapon and armed robbery.

You're fucking 16 or 17 and think you're fucking gangster or something? Knocking at a strangers door at 11 PM to, best case scenario, threaten his fucking parents? Come on. You had to expect at least one comment like this. No shit youre lost as fuck what to do. What made you think this was a good idea?

Why on earth does this sub enable posts like this? This has fucking nothing to do with the DNM. This is just sketch as fuck.

[8 Points] ForLol_Serious:

Don't talk to police

[6 Points] None:

Reach out to the kid, get ahold of him, explain the situation so he see's how you pretty much have him over a barrel, explain how you pressing charges will pretty much result in fuckall for you but penitentiary for him. Tell him the only way you're not putting him in is if your QP is delivered to you by x o'clock.

[4 Points] RedditAccount28:

We arent going to be able to really tell you your best course of action, you need a lawyer. Since you were selling qps you probably have some money to drop on a decent one but if not, I hear some gay lawyers accept sex in lieu of paper currency.

[3 Points] Take_me_on_a_trip:

Charge it to the game nigga. You got got.

[2 Points] intothestarz:

But can the police prove you were selling weed? If I were you I would not press charges and take the loss. Part of the game and I would not risk distribution / possession charges.

[2 Points] 25c-nb:

Shouldn't have walked into a drug deal alone with a qp and not had some method of protecting your product. Especially if you've never sold this guy bud before, but even if you have you should have hidden the bud close by, met up with the guy, gotten the money, then walked him to the qp. You should've kept a good distance between you and him, then walked by the qp, pointed it out and told him how to retrieve it then immediately walked away. Could've kept an eye on him, watched him get the qp from a distance and then left. If he starts coming toward you run your ass off. That or you should've brought some backup with you bro a qp is a big transaction.

You should accept the loss, stop talking to the cops because it's not worth the trouble and you still won't get your money or weed plus you'll have to pay for a lawyer (I believe?) and learn from your mistake. Best thing to do is learn never to do it again.

[2 Points] organ_transplant:

Doing something illegal like this will always have some sort of risk because of its nature. I'd consider this a loss myself.

Basically this. Say nothing, do nothing. Let the lawyer talk.

Went through the same thing only with a gun, and I tackled the kid who pulled it on me, got the gun from him after it was fired, and beat his ass. Long story short, I have a trafficking charge which yielded probation and he was charged with armed robbery. Which I believe was lowered considering he received 90 days in jail and probation. In my experience, not worth it, with this charge I can't receive any type of Financial Aid unless of course I finish my diversion. I recommend not worrying about the situation, look at it as a loss and be thankful you have your life and the potential to go to school with financial aid in the future. Stop selling drugs, and build your future the proper way. It's not worth it. When you have the funds in the future, move to a legal state and sit back and laugh at every pig that passes while taking big rips. Wish you the best.

[1 Points] gritty_city:

Walk away and learn from your mistake. You have nothing to gain by pressing charges other that satisfaction, which I promise will not be worth it in hindsight.

Walk away, don't get caught up in that shit again. You are young and your life is still an open book and in front of you. You only get one shot, don't fuck it up.

[1 Points] magroobz:

Don't press charges wth lol beat his ass pussy

[1 Points] None:

Wow, that's a drug deal gone really wrong!

[1 Points] Darthballs42:

Charge that shit to the game and stop being a lil douche about it you should've just robbed h back the g way

[0 Points] shaunafrost6969:

Serious question it says you had a qp and then you said it was 12g and it's a misdemeanor. 12g and 112g make the difference I'm curious which one is it.

Did not read. Too much text.

[-4 Points] None:

That's what u get for snitching on your friend and involving the police . Now they have your name of the wrong reasons. Don't involve the police when your dealing drugs .
