First Thoughts on East India Company

After opening GWL EIC's virtual doors today the Grand Wizard is very, very impressed with East India Company. The layout is clean and easy to use and the site loads quickly. The support team has been fantastic in their communications and very helpful. And best of all, they have the best implementation of multisig we've yet encountered. We've had two sales in the first 24 hours (with only a fraction of our inventory listed) from multisig virgins: they had no problem setting up a transaction and sending their funds to a 2-of-3 address thanks to EIC's very helpful instructions.

So far this may well be the most promising start-up we have had to date. Of course things can change in an instant on the Darknet, but East India Company appears to be doing all the right things and we're looking forward to a long and prosperous business relationship.

I can't wait til more users realize it. It's got a beautiful and uncluttered interface, solid security, an on-market chat which is nice and the support responds, an actually responsive support ticket team, many mirror URLs, proper multi-sig but also regular escrow, they're really in a good spot once more people take a look.

Plus, the vendor fee is only 0.2BTC (in exchange for being a fee, nonrefundable, and I think market commission is fairly high and it works on a level system where it gets progressively lower).

I'd certainly urge more to give them a chance.

Needs more Aussie Vendors.

We need simple-to-understand tutorials on how 2/3 multisigs work: my public key, EIC public key, and vendor's public key. Electrum requires me to setup prior and must have all three public keys ready. It's very annoying.

Now that everyone's jizzing their pants over EIC, I need to tell my experience with them. I was in contact with EIC staff between May and June as they needed me to translate their site and though their staff was polite and articulate, they were unprofessional in their business behaviour. They kept postponing the data files they should send me and I didn't hear anything from them for weeks until I stepped away in primo-August where I still hadn't received the files.

Anyway it's probably nothing and EIC does seem like a good market. I just wanted to add a bit of legitimate counter hype in these times were EIC gets universally praised.

I also think EIC is the next big market. Also, helpful multisig instructions? Yes! Maybe soon we will see the end of a majority of exit scams. I'm glad they have opened their doors to North America.

I like it too wiz, it's absolutely worth a look and I'm hoping it gets bigger.

I checked out and it looks good to me, I just hope more US based vendors begin to show up now that they've opened their doors. A beautiful market is nothing if there aren't well-established, veteran vendors to accompany it. I imagine it won't take long though.

[1 Points] None:

It does sound good. I will wait to see if my vendors move there.

[1 Points] Ghostfeind:

I really like the layout.

I thought they didn't serve the us

Best interface I've seen since The Marketplace, customer support is very involved (for now), and they really seem to be pushing for multisig adoption.

[1 Points] GreatWhiteShnoz:

Just joined myself. Really like it. Vendors I speak to are happy they made the jump over there too. Also, Every (the support messenger) has clearly stated that they will be capping member numbers if the markets demands ever exceeded what their current staff can handle. Not sure how they would be able to work that out, but that's what was said. Impressed.

coulda sworn this was the elite dangerous sub

[1 Points] CumberlandGap:

fuck yeah east india is the shit, love the multisig implementation even though I don't use it I think it says something about where the creators hearts are at

[0 Points] turkeywraps:

Seems. I may decide to look at them

I feel the same way about Hansa Market. So far we have had about 15 orders on Hansa and the experience has been amazing. Best Multi-Sig experience so far as a long time vendor. Much better than The Marketplace (TMP)

A link to this needs to be posted everytime someone is accused of shilling for EIC.

Is anyone concerned about the obvious connotations with a certain country well known for smelly curry & are we concerned about the potential upswing in unsolicited calls from telemarketers if we immerse ourselves in the abovementioned DNM?

Once these concerns are addressed then minor issues such as security etc can be discussed at will.
