[Complaint/Warning] Intense shilling; don't believe everything you read

I have never seen shilling so bad. A vendor in another thread pointed out he thought Nucleus was responsible for spreading FUD about rival markets. That would seem to make sense because this started when the Nucleus listing on DeepDot was flooded with pro-Nucleus shills for weeks until DeepDot deleted them and disabled comments. Since that time all the other market reviews have been flooded with shill comments, but this time anti-(market x) comments. "Agora exit scam cleaned out my wallet, 1,5 BTC stolen by these scammers!!" is an average review.

Now Agora does get a continuous amount of reviews from users upset at Agora's poor downtime, so that in itself is not concerning. But this is affecting all markets and the frequency has ramped up tenfold since DeepDot clamped down on the Nucleus shills. Markets are getting accused on a daily basis of the same pattern of alleged internal theft. Some of the posting even ends up on this subreddit, but as we scrutinize more here, the shills are often outed.

Even the fact I'm suggesting Nucleus might be responsible for shilling against rival marketplaces to discredit them, by repeatedly accusing them of scamming under various accounts, could in itself constitute shilling. I don't know that it's Nucleus posting these comments. But seems odd considering the pattern and that all the markets except for Nucleus are the recipients of relentless scam claims.

All I'm saying is don't believe any accusations unless there is some attempt at delivering evidence crucial to assessing the credibility of such claim, or the claim is at least plausible and follows a pattern of similar and verified claims, or that such claims come from respected members of the community and not anonymous, 0-hour fresh accounts.

One noticeable characteristic in common with these shill comments is they never specify their vendor name, just "I was a vendor on Black Bank who was scammed by the thief admins, all BTC stolen by these fuckin crooks!!" Notice, no name specified. No evidence. Pure FUD. Real effort has been made to emphasize that the admins are scammers, real effort has been made to encourage the readers to one thing and one thing alone, and that is to avoid the market in question. You have to ask, what is this poster's agenda?

TL;DR: The main points are high-lighted in bold.

I think you got it all wrong, buddy. The admins at Nucleus have been so busy with the influx of users and problems plaguing every DNM that I highly doubt they have much time for shilling right now. VRC kind of fired a shot at BB yesterday, but that is all I have heard from him. He did raise an interesting question, and at least he didn't hide behind a fake name. It actually gained him some points in my book.

I only have one successful order on Nucleus, but it went well. That isn't enough info for me to say it is awesome or not, but I can advise people it is worth cautiously looking into. My best advice to everyone is not to listen to this guy or me or anyone else. Try the markets, visit their forums, make some small deals, and judge the situation for yourself. Its fine if people have opinions or whatever, but I always follow my own path. Most of the time it leads me to the place I am supposed to be. You will always have issues when making DNM purchases... scammers and bad luck are everywhere. Arm yourselves with experience and knowledge.

I have seen more people spreading FUD about nucleus here than any other dnm besides ironclad, also a lot of downvotes on any comments defending it

[1 Points] deepdot:

Yea there is a lot of shilling the last couple of weeks, not only by nucleus but also against nucleus to be honest, and by (and against) few others as well

I would also like to warn people to please CONSIDER USING YOUR BRAIN when reading posts (like the Agora wallet one).

  1. Do they provide ACTUAL evidence for their claims? What is fact and what is speculation?

  2. Is the person (at the very least) established on Reddit? Is it from Gwe rn, /u/impost_r, and others with an established reputation or is it from a brand new account?

  3. Do their claims pass the sniff test? Are they logical? Does the evidence provided correspond to the claims?

  4. Who could benefit from this "information" being posted?

Please consider ALL of these questions TOGETHER when reading ANY claims relating to DNM's.

The brain on drugs tends to see connections that are do not exist in reality (hence paranoia), so please take a moment to step back and analyze claims before accepting them as fact. Even this post.

Perhaps we need a /u/DNMFactChecker or something to help point out all the FUD.

There was never any FUD about BlackBank scamming any vendors. The only comment toward BlackBank is either they are LE or DDOS'ing other markets.

This post itself looks to be from a shill.

The paranoia is setting in!! This is your first post.

For those looking for a post related to actually NOT believing shilling instead of more FUD:
