[question] Where to purchase a temple recommend card to gain access to a LDS temple?

I'm new to all DNMs and everything of the sort. But I was wondering if it is possible to purchase a Mormon temple recommend card so I can gain access to the temple to see a friend get married? The sealing ceremony prevents people who don't have a card to access it. So if anyone knows where I could look to get one, it would help a lot! Thanks! :)

You don't want to do that to yourself bro......I grew up (and OUT) of that shit.

Have you discussed your plans with the couple? If they're sincere believers in good standing, I think it unlikely they will be happy to see you there. Even if you don't get outed, they'll be stressing out that there will be a scene if you're booted from their wedding ceremony. Most Mormon's have a reception / ceremony afterward for their non-LDS friends. (Note: I'm an ex-Mormon.)

I have Joseph Smith's original access card (from 1829) for sale if you are still interested. It opens All the fucking doors, guaranteed.

If you get in, try and get some of those magic underpants.

You know today was Mormonic Monday right?

[7 Points] Canna-Juice:

I sincerely hope you get this card. Please keep us updated.

[9 Points] jurroot:

They're barcoded but they don't check against ids. Basically, you would need to get one that is active in the system... you can easily borrow someone's but that would be a bit hard to do...

Wow, holy shit that is fucking bonkers. Now I want to go too, make that shit most unclean.

[9 Points] pvff:

The cards have barcodes and they get scanned at the door. You have to be in the system. There's no way you would figure out what to do once you get in there unless you have someone with you that could tell you what to do.

Top_Gear_UK has it for cheap

TIL Mormons continue to be weird. What do they do at a wedding ceremony?

[6 Points] kroboz:

Like everyone else said, these cards are barcoded, and the temple staff can often pick up on anything shady. Plus, if your friend's mom or aunt or whatever knows you aren't supposed to be there, they'll "tell."

The ceremony is only about 10-20 minutes. You aren't missing much. But it sounds like maybe you used to have a card, got it taken away, and are trying to sneak in? Just a guess.

Talk to a fake ID guy

It might make a cool thing to pull out to impress people - and if you want to do that I'm sure there is a pdf you can print out, but please let me explain something to you: you aren't going to learn anything or see anything that you can't watch on YouTube. That's a promise. If this is a prop or something to pull out at a bar for laughs, I get it. If this is something that you are actually going to try and use it tell me you haven't performed enough research on the subject to know it isn't worth pursuing. Third option is you are from another religion with an ax to grind, and in this case you are just plain retarded.

Good luck with your search though. I want to see how this pans out! :-)

[3 Points] JesusdiedLOLOL:

Sounds like a bullshit reason, what are you really gonna do with it?

I hope you get it!

TIL there are a hell of a lot of mormons who buy drugs on the internet

This question floored me, because around that specifc time I was actually sitting around looking into how to get an LDS MRN (Membership Registration Number). Granted, I wasn't going to sneak into a temple. And that's a bad idea on so many levels, but totally do that - it'll be hilarious.

Anyway, those barcodes people keep talking about.. They're either eight or eleven digits long, grouped into nnn-nnnn-nnnn. They check-digit:ed with modula 11, look at tech dot lds dot org/wiki/Membership_record_number for a quick run through. Similar to ISBNs, but not identical. Since you've probably googled Temple Reccomend, you've seen where they're printed.

The page is outdated on one thing - they use the ones with mod11 == 10 (says they don't). They'll print "A" as the check digit. 'cos, you know, that's totally what they'll bust you on :-). The bar code does not contain anything except those numbers - their entry scanners are merely an average barcode scanner that emulates a keyboard. A standard test is to open notepad, scan a TR and make sure the numbers under show up (foolish - a salted hash would have been wiser). I'm not positive what barcode standard they use, but they use a standard HP USB barcode scanner, so it'll scan about anything. I'd venture to guess they're using code39, if not it'd still work.

As mentioned, they only remain active as long as you're in good standing, so it has to be a current one. You can attempt to register an account on their page though - it'll ask for the number and birthdate - or ask to recover your username or whatev, so if you don't have test it "hot" when you're standing right there. There could, conceivably, be an issue if multiple people check in with the same code. I'm not so sure that's likely or that it's all connected, but hard to say.

Supposing you do get that far, the online tools (including mobile apps) will get you a start on WTF is going on anyway.

Seriously though, rethink this, but that's some starting points.

Seeing the responses there are quite a few peoples interested in an LSD Temple Marketplace...
