[Uncategorized]BitQuick!

Needed to buy some btc this afternoon and checked on LocalBitcoins. Not a single online seller was on and I'm not from a metro area so local cash buying and btc ATMs aren't an option. I had heard of Coinbase, so I logged on there but when I went to buy some btc it says it can take up to four business days when you using ACH to purchase btc. I guess if you link a CC, you can do instant purchases.

Well shit, probably should've read up on that before committing to the purchase. Then I remembered seeing an ad somewhere for bitquick... Did a search on here and only found 2 posts, both with positive reviews. So I went to BitQuick and under "buy" I picked one labeled "any local credit union" and put in how many btc I needed. If you use BitQuick make sure you put however much you need here plus 2% to account for their fee. It then took me to a page with the name of a bank, account number, and account holder's name to deposit into, how much to deposit, and a link to upload a receipt after the deposit.

I had never heard of the bank before so I looked it up, and it's some bank from Massachusetts that has no branches even remotely close to me. BUT they have what's called a "co-op shared branch" in my town. I'm on central time, and it was nearing 6pm for me, so I ran up there real quick to deposit the cash.

The whole process totally sketched me the fuck out. I asked her about the co-op branch thing and made sure the funds could still be deposited today if I had the account number. The teller looked it up and said it wouldn't be a problem, and that I just needed to fill out this deposit slip with the account number and sign on the back...

Oh fuck... Why do I need to sign to deposit?? Feeling nervous at this point but I didn't know if I should mention that it isn't actually my account so I just forged it quickly and gave it to her. She mentioned that I forgot to put my driver's license number and I quickly respond that I don't have it on me. She asks for a fucking phone number so of course I give her some fake number, get my receipt, thanks, I'm outta here.

Uploaded the receipt to the site once I got back and received a confirmation email stating that I should receive my funds at "xxx" address within 3 hours. It's been 2 hours and the funds are now confirmed in my Electrum wallet

So yeah, I'd recommend BitQuick if you're in a bind and neither LocalBitcoins nor Coinbase are viable options for you ;)
