Nucleus has Received more than 100 btc in Accidental Deposits Since it Went Down in April! Not a Single Bitcoin has Moved.

https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/NucleusMarket

If you were any of the people who made any of the last page and a half of deposits to their dead Nucleus deposit address, you must be feeling pissed off.

The case of Nucleus is the strangest I've ever seen. Like finding a pirate ship full of gold drifting without a single member of it's crew on board.

Nucleus is nothing like an exit scam. It's like the owner just had a hear attack. If you click on page 2, you will see the last withdrawal from the site, which is clearly the owner. He then cashes out some bitcoin at localbitcoins without tumbling, so if the authorities wanted to identify him they could. I assumed he'd got busted at first.

There have been no high-profile marketplace bust announcements. The owner could have had an accident or illness. The only people who would benefit from any foul play are alphabay. But Alphabay is run by the least-brave fraudsters (credit card ), not by murderers.

If that 5000 btc lays there without moving, month after month, year after year, the mystery of Nucleus Marketplace will only deepen. Have any of it's former admins commented?

I think he exit scammed for sure.

vrc just has so much worth in coin held in wallets with 0% taint to that NUC hot-wallet, so he doesn't even need to touch them yet. I bet he's having difficultly cashing-out what he'd already pulled from that wallet cluster over the site's up time and/or is hoarding them.

He might not need to touch that hot-wallet again for ~10-20 years time...

Think about the volume of coin he made when BTC was at US ~$200 or so. It's now worth ~circa 400% more today than last year (~approx.).

... Have any of it's former admins commented?

I think they know what's up, at least a couple of them. The only major market to disappear/vanish (as a market who's exit-scam status is still unconfirmed) without a single peep from any former employee (the Hobbit's market doesn't count). I think he paid 'em off to shut the fuck up & they did.

EDIT: Is that NUC WalletExplorer.com URL your homepage when you fire up Tor? =p

the simplest answer is usually right. dude's just sitting on it until attention has gone away. that 4 million is his retirement fund.

Sometimes this subreddit is stupid as hell.

Nucleus exit scammed before AlphaBay. Deal with it.

There are plenty of reasons the coins wouldn't move after an exit scam, mainly to avoid attention from LE.

Why would Nucleus go offline if he died?

[2 Points] None:

how do you know that last withdrawal wasn't a vendor?

[2 Points] BlankBlapperson:

Crazy exit scam for people to keep sending you 1000 bitocins.

[1 Points] trickricksick:

So theres 5000 btc sitting inside local bitcoins wallet?

[1 Points] TheDragooon420:

That's crazy.

Bbmc how are connecting that last withdrawal to person you think ran nuke ? I don't see how it couldn't have been a vendor who just happened to make the last withdrawal before it went offline ... Super interesting stuff tho . All types of possibilities , whoever had control might have gotten locked up On another charge and has to wait to get out. Or could be as simple as a car accident . Who knows

[1 Points] Axaq:

Just to add a little known fact here: VRC was NOT the main Admin, he was the public speaking guy, whilst the "owner" who was developing the site and running it behind the scenes, I forget his old username, stayed quiet, 2 completely different people and yet there has been no public announcement from either to say the other guy took the money etc, I think it's an exit scam, but they're waiting a long time so no one keeps an eye on them. My guess is the withdrawal is by VRC, since he had no technical knowledge at all.

[1 Points] DNMFraudSalez:

I found nucs wallet, which has been cashing out like crazy in the last 7 days. They won't need to touch the hot wallet for a long while.

I'm surprised no one has started systematically creating markets with the end goal intention of exit scamming or... perhaps they already have?

If it was an exit scam, they would have cashed-out when BTC peaked last week, they would have been worth around £2.5m at the highest point.

Very strange....

Edit - Ok I didn't literally mean in a single £2.5m transaction, but as prices are so good I would have thought if it were an exit scam, they would be getting rid of the coinage sooner rather than later.
