I've ran into multiple vendors who do not give out tracking for the sole purpose of OPSEC? Any explaination behind this, is a tracking number really killing all anonyminity?
Why do vendors think that providing a tracking number destroys OPSEC?

The biggest risk is if LE places an order as a customer, then gets the tracking number. Tracking labels come in sequentially numbered rolls. LE could easily intercept multiple packages from the information on one tracking number and use it to profile a vendor's packages. From there to controlled deliveries of multiple orders. Those are real risks. Any vendor with half a brain won't give out tracking numbers for this reason.

There's myUSPS now so sometimes you don't even need the vendor to give you the number.

I usually have all packs pop up on myusps and just track em along with all my other clear-net packs such as eBay and shit. Other than checking on tor I cant see how its bad and cant see how its bad for vendor at all since he's not going to use his real addy. I check myusps several times a day to track all my other stuff so it would look more odd if I didn't check it lol.

When a vendor buys a tracked prepaid envelope, his face is on some CCTV video at the post office. If LE made a controlled purchase from the vendor, upon receiving the pack, they can look up where the tracking number was purchased from, and get the vendor on video.
Viewing the tracking number off different ip's or on tor can cause suspicions apparently
