Do you check tracking on your orders that arrive late?

I'm sure we've all had orders arrive 1 or 2 days after they were expected. Each day that passes without delivery is frustrating, sometimes its USPS fault, sometimes the vendor marked it shipped before shipping it, etc. However once the order arrives, suddenly it doesn't matter what the delay was since you received it successfully, thats all that matters. But do any of you track the package after you receive it (since you'd have the tracking number on the package itself) just to see what the hold up was? If not, and you are one of those people cursing the vendor for not getting a package on time, I'd give it a shot next time you receive something late just to see. I was surprised to see USPS really screws this up a lot, even at times I coulda swore was my vendors vault but instead, USPS usually ends up shipping it from one coast to mine, then back to the original coast, then back to me, explaining the several day delay.

I mean I know we all don't really care once the package is in our hands, but if its from a vendor you consider a regular and you want to once and for all verify why exactly its late (is it USPS or the vendor), check the tracking one time and see what's going on. The results may surprise you, and may help you in the future when ordering from them. If you can see the pattern of delays from that one vendor, you can plan ahead next time you need something on a specific date.

EDIT: Incase their is any confusion on what I mean. I mean once you get the package delivered and the deal is complete. THEN track the package (since you'll have the tracking number on the label) just to see when it was actually shipped and moved through the postal system. Like if you order a package Monday and the vendor said he shipped it, and it arrives Friday, then on Friday you can track it to see if he really did ship it Monday, or if he didn't ship it until Wednesday, since tracking shows when the pick up scan took place. Just a good tool to see if the vendor is lying on when he shipped it, or if he did ship it out monday like he said, and it was USPS that had the delays in transit all week

I have been tracking a pack for a week or so, but was given the number from the rip. Usps can't handle all the cutbacks. Mine sat at a local sorting facility for 3 days without moving. I do believe it is the mail the majority of the time although some vendors do late shipping/claiming they sent it and haven't.

Sometimes I check, sometimes i dont. I found that certain vendors ship when they say they did and USPS gets it to me in 2-3 days.

I guess im not really sure what youre asking.

Sometimes I do out of sheer curiosity, other times I do when there's been a delay to see if it was the vendor or usps. It's surprising what you'll see on the tracking that usps fucked up. I had an order that was at my po, then delivered to a podunk po about 10min up the road, then came back to my po the next day, then was delivered the day after that. I've discovered that one vendor ships their express orders very late in the evening, so about half of the time they'd take 2 days to show. I've also caught a couple vendors in outright lies about how they had handled my package. I never called them out, I don't try to add to the shit pile, just let me know what kind of vendor they really were. I'd rather have them be straight with me than feed me some bs.

Is it ok to check the tracking of a pack after you've received it on the clearnet?
