Laundering question?

This kinda belongs in r/showerthoughts and/or r/dnmnoobs but I thought I'd get the best answer here honestly. Would casino's/online gambling be even a halfway decent way to make 'dirty' cash clean? Say I went to Vegas with cash. Hopped around casino to casino and Gamble abit. Sure I'd lose some but I could then take the majority that I didn't Gamble away and have 'clean' money bc I'd be cashing out from the casino and could write it off as winnings? I'm sure there's a reason that wouldnt be a good idea but what is that reason?

TL:Dr could you essentially use a casino to launder your money by semi-gambling?

the solution is the hold your money in bitcoin

Don't use some risky/complicated laundering scheme to put your drug money into a goverment-controlled system where it can be easily taxed or confiscated

keep it simple stupid. Learn to live off btc and cash. If you must do something like invest in a business, then you can do it through a proxy person.

Does not work, anymore. Since about 2011. Look-up FinCen and FinTRAC. Game over. Unless YOU run the casino. See PokerStars.

The easiest way to do it is through chips but honestly anything under say 100,000 is unheard of to even launder and money laundering is mostly for amounts closer to 2-300,000.00. To answer your question yes you can use the casino to launder money but only through chips but I highly doubt you are dealing with enough money to even worry about laundering and if you are there are way better ways to go about it. If you want to launder that small of an amount of money you are better off buying gold with your cash and then selling the gold. Most money laundering laws changed after 9/11

I doubt you have enough cash where you need to launder it.

I mean, there are so many small businesses. My aunt has an LLC for selling crocheted dolls on eBay. Actually. Not as a front. You can just set up an actual business doing something stupid. Unless you're claiming millions a year, you would probably be fine.

Can you not just tumble the coins, say they were an early investment and pay capital gains on them?
