For example, some dude is blowing up this subreddit today with ads for his CVV business, etc. I don't fully understand what you'd be buying with this. Is it actual stolen credit card information that you can go on like target.com and buy a tv with or what? The ads and posts are always so technical and filled with information I really have no idea whats going on. Is any of this stuff ever not bullshit? Just a general what's what about this would be pretty helpful, I'm mainly just curious, not looking to get into that game at all thanks
Alright, here's the deal. There's a lot of people who sell this shit and CVVs can be legit but WU accounts doesn't sound legit to me. Any time Western Union is involved in a shady deal, I'd stay away, because 9/10 times you will get scammed. People will say "oh well we have to do this so it is untraceable" well hell yea it's untraceable for them to steal your money.
Anyways, back to the CVVs, there's a lot of information to know about carding and how to use these things, but basically people usually sell CVVs, Fullz, or Dumps. So if you find someone legit, and trust me there are plenty of them, you need to know what you're looking for, depending on how you want to use the information.
CVV = Usually contains name, address, card number, expiration, and the 3 digits on the back.
Dumps = Contains only the information that is stored on the card. I believe that is the name, card number, expiration.
Fullz = You're getting everything. Like the CVV except you will also get their SSN and DOB and maybe even more.
So dumps would probably be pretty good for going in a store and using cards(you would have to write the info to a new card). But if you want to card stuff online, you have to have the the security code on the back and the such, so you would probably need a CVV. Doing online carding is probably a lot easier for most people, especially if you would get nervous trying to slide someone else's card. You just have to have a lot of opsec(I think people use VPN, socks5, and a remote desktop....pretty ridiculous but I guess you don't wanna slip up on this shit) and you also need a drop location.
Anyways, I don't have a ton of knowledge but I have done a pretty good amount of research by just being on the darknet. I know you said you're not actually trying to do this, but if you ever consider it, just make sure you know what the hell you're doing.
Oh and all of that being said, I think online carding will only become bigger(at least here in the US) because stores pretty soon are required to have the machines that use the chip instead of swiping. I don't know if those are possible to clone.
