This Is What It's Really Like to Be One of the Biggest Drug Lords On Silk Road (x-post /r/Drugs)

Great article about The Scurvy Crew. Dunno if this has been posted here before, though.

I bet he's lying about how they get their opium. No way a big vendor would be risking themselves by ganking poppy pods from farms. Also, that is a fuck ton of work for how much money you make from it doing it by hand, would make a lot more sense to buy diverted opium. He's obviously an attention whore as he's doing a Vice article so I would take what he says with a grain of salt. Think about it, would telling Vice that he bought diverted poppies be a good idea? Then again, why the fuck would he talk to Vice at all. Maybe he really is that fucked in the head...

I find it so odd that this Ace guy would risk his livelihood for the sake of an interview that could have been conducted online, anyone else feel the same way?

The journalist even knows what he looks like, seems odd Ace would let that happen

Nothing in that article is a lie. I am ACE's right hand man, RavageTheEarth. I am part of The Scurvy Crew. We have so much love for everyone who supports us.

I can't believe these guys do interviews. It seems like a huge security risk to speak casually with a reporter. You reveal so much about yourself, even if you're careful

[4 Points] nsgiad:

I would watch a movie based on that. Good read, hope those guys keep their heads down.

I always thought Ace was a pretty awesome dude. Reading this type of stuff gives you too many ideas...

Always seems really dangerous to post this stuff as a vendor. they probably know better but interviews seem dangerous as fuck.

great read.

I assumed this was the case but I hadn't seen any confirmation. If his account of Ross's arrest is accurate then the feds also got Ross's PGP keyring.

I can't remember if Ross ever changed keys, but if they got all of them, every encrypted communication he wrote has been deciphered. That's bad news for everyone who corresponded with him, and much worse for prospects at a trial
