Regarding the vulnerabilities pausing agora

vulnerabilities in Tor Hidden Services protocol which could help to deanonymize server locations

Is this going to make other markets vulnerable and risk compromising users?

bonus conspiracy theory: wasn't the blockchain getting tested/shut down for a month I.E no transactions?

Is this agoras way of not having to deal with all the where's my coins messages that will be flying around?

Most people believe they're referencing a paper that came out several months (?) ago, which actually isn't that big of an issue. Honestly, I suspect that there is a more serious issue that is hiding behind the Tor vulnerability, that perhaps they cannot reveal for opsec issues. For one, it would be really dumb for them to say "Hey there's a way to track us, also we're staying up long enough for you to track us."

the vuln is the bosses retirement

From what I gather so far (take it with salt), the vulnerability requires somewhat substantial resources. I assume the adversary needs massive amounts of information from ISPs, relays, and exit nodes (and maybe more) to conduct the attacks necessary to track down servers or individuals.

Understand that OPSEC vulnerabilities many times aren't common or even proven, but instead are known to be possible (based on source code and theoretical attacker resources). With the high stakes that DNM personnel risk, a possibility is more than enough to motivate policy change and server stack structure/security.

I feel that Agora wants the best for everybody, but won't be confident in their own security until they take care of issues that they feel "could" cause them exposure in some way. While some people are freaking out about this, I actually feel they will be much improved when they return (minus a few initial bugs).

They someone was fucking with their server. They moved as a temporary solution. Shutting down to fix. So they say who knows.

So i assume they think someone is getting close.

TOR said it was bullshit last month.
