How good were these counterfeits, he was using inkjets, doesn't that always leave them feeling too greasy and looking too flat? And then it says he was caught with actual glue sticks, like you used at school, so he was printing two sides and gluing them together...on printing paper??
Although it does mention foil security features, I remember seeing them on Alibaba, roles of foil strips and foil stickers for British £50 notes that were heat transferable so maybe he was using those
