Accuracy of border force T.V shows?

I've been watching lot of U.K border force on sky and honestly it's giving me a lot of anxiety. They make it look so easy to find everything. Just a quick scan of the mail and "oh look! A big ol bag of weed"

They make it look as though decoys are useless. Just watched one episode where some steroids where placed inside a kids toy which they had to smash open to find the roids. All without showing how they actually found them. I just don't quite understand how they managed to find that.

But then I watched Australia border force and my anxiety went away. UK'S got nothing ok the forces down under.

It's a television show. The content is produced in advanced with most packages being found by the use of snitches, the content takes a long time to be made as well. The cops don't just "look" into a engine block. It's makes them look good on camera, when in reality, this never happens.

Decoys work, they probably was watching someone’s mail of a known dealer and shook the toy, there was something inside of it to need to peruse further.

Don't worry.

If those shows were accurate about 10% of packages would arrive. Instead something in the high 90's % of packages arrive.

Don't sweat it. They either get tipped, had an eye on a shipper, already opened the package before and then did again before the camera, stuff like that.

It's TV, nothing you see on there is real.

Well there's a show called border wars where they randomly destroy someone's car and find it full of drugs, people who are entering the us from mexico anyway. This has happened to me. Well, they didn't take it apart. But they looked for drugs in my gas tank and radiator. I probably got in front of a drug cartel mule in line or something.

Border patrol on the Mexican border are dickheads. The shows are accurate in this regard. However, how many hours did they roll the tapes before they had a bust? Then they make it look like they bust this shit all day long.

Unrelated, but I crossed the border once and saw them deporting a bus full of illegal immigrants. Was kind of cool, they uncuffed them and had this epic pile of handcuffs and leg irons.

Please stop spreading this rumour, it's the main reason we get shitty overpriced drugs (cos foreign vendors believe all this bullshit about Australian customs)

They are not superstars, they are dead average and very lazy. Unfortunately Australians either believe anything they see on TV or they take some pride in having gun customs officers so we constantly get this crap about Australian customs regurgitated

Like the British version, the busts shown on Aussie border security are the result of tip offs or investigations prompted by snitches, not great work by super agents

Can I ask why you were so sceptical of the British customs officials shown on UK border security but so prepared to believe the Australian version?

[1 Points] wallado:

Well they only show you the ones who get caught, and if people still do it, it means they aren't catching enough to provide a disincentive.

They want you to be anxious maaan. Seriously though i saw an episode where they intercepted a package of DMT, horrible stealth btw, and they started goin on about how its the most dangerous drug known to man.. So yeah, its very accurate cough

Dogs are a big part of it, you ever see drugs packaged in mylar bags? I havent, dogs can smell through everything but mylar.
