Do cash deposit require ID in Canada?

I'm looking at scoring some of that good ol classic BTC and don't wanna use my identity to get them. If I do a cash deposit over LBC will they ask me for ID? If they do ask for ID will it be saved and possibly used against me in court?

First off, buying BTC is not illegal. Second, if your really worried about it, just do cash in person or cash by mail - both usually will get you a better rate anyways. Most sellers do ask for ID for cash deposits, WU, MG and such though. You could always just buy a scan on AB for under 30 dollars, and use that for all your purchases.

Never had a Canadian bank ask me or ID for a cash deposit but they certainly can if you want to and there is probably a deposit limit before paperwork is required.

RBC asked me for I.D before, I just told them I didn't have it with me... The teller just continued with the transaction as usual.
