Interesting Situation: Advice needed

Hey guys, I recently just hit a snag on an order of personal amounts to a PO Box. The package was taking forever to hit, but since it was a very reputable vendor and there being a holiday mixed in, I decided to give it some time. Fast forward 8 business days and still and empty box, I finally decided to message the vendor. I requested the tracking number and got the update: Addressee Unknown: Returned to sender.

A couple things: I know I gave the vendor the correct address, since I always check multiple times before sending and I've received mail at the Box, so my guess is the label got mauled during transit or the vendor messed up the address, but even if so, the tracking said it was at the post office with my box before it went out for delivery. Would the postal worker not connect the dots and be able to find my PO Box if it made it to the destination post office? I guess if the label was ripped just leaving the city and zip would be the only thing that makes sense.

I also read that USPS holds priority mail for 15 days. If so, should I call and try to track the package down? Its been over a week since it was undeliverable. At this point I don't really care about the money, I haven't tried to resolve anything else with the vendor as of now. And if the package goes unretrieved I'm assuming that the box and probably my name is burned at least for the area. I am just wondering if any of you guys have any insight to the situation or have encountered something similar before.

Well, for starters, pursuing your package eliminates your chances of claiming ignorance of said package coming your way.

You've given no actual details to base any real advice on. I mean you've got the general, the odds of you being busted are still slim to none, but, should the unthinkable happen, you will be 100% fucked.

Without the details no one but you can really tell how fucked you may or may not be.

so not much more

I wouldn't try to trace the package tbh. You can't deny you knew what was in the package if you've not only actively tracked it, but you've rang round looking for it. You also said you're not worried about the money, so just write it off.

You should warn the vendor that this happened though.
