Due to all the possible exit scams and extreme downtimes people are suggesting to do direct deals. Isn't this the same as FE'ing? Isn't FE frowned upon? 2 steps forward 8 steps back....

I think there is a silent majority that is just waiting this out, as there are a good deal of people who just lurk, and people who don't even have an account on reddit on this sub. Only the impatient and "new buyers" are going for this I feel. Though /u/TrippinDraper has a point. We need a craigslist for the DNM, not a amazon.

Yes, I have pointed this out many times. At the end of the day, if you feel a vendor can be trusted more than a market, direct deals are the way to go. If you feel a market can be trusted more than a vendor, post about never FEing every other day.

There's no reason why we can't do multisig and direct deals. There just has to be some forum where people who want to act as arbiters can post their contact details

i fe and deal off market comfortably with a couple vendors that have been through every market since sr1 i figure the chance of them choosing now to exit is slim and if they do? fuck it they deserve to get some back im not spending money i cant lose anyways.
edit and truth be told id rather a vendor run with my cash than a market im not sure why though lol

Markets seem to always end up scamming, but good vendors seem to be fairly reliable (with the exception of MXE and the largest-scale pot dealers, which I suspect is probably the largest amount of DNM orders) which leads to people trusting them.
Logically, despite not ordering in the past, I would rather put my trust in longstanding vendors like OOTP/GrandWizardsLair/HoS/ than try to jump aboard a new market for only a limited amount of time. If they're good to you, the fact that you're dealing directly with them allows you to help make up for the fact that they've been fucked by markets in the past as you're bypassing fees and thus giving them more profits.
I suspect that this will be the only solution until a better middleground is found, like a
centalizeddecentralized market.
