I think all of y'all should know...

There are phisherman, con-artist, and LE among us here in this sub. There are reports of people falling victim to these predators on this sub, like this guy https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/53anbo/plant_success_is_a_scammer_pt_2/. We should all remember the rules about dealing with people around here, and more importantly, not getting too lax with OPSEC with other users.

I stumbled accross this in my travels and wanted to share this with you all, https://i.sli.mg/1AxNsf.jpg READ IT!!

These are guidelines used by people who wish to manipulate this sub. That means you guys!! Having this knowledge will help keep you from falling victim to either LE or any other malicious entity that would fool you using these techniques here in this sub (and other forums). I hope many of you would use this as a way to protect yourselves. Knowledge is power!

Edit: Here is all of it with info on saboteurs, like you'll see in this post trying to discredit anyone keen to them (i.e; calling names, trying to sway the general consensus) https://athens.indymedia.org/media/old/cointelpro_techniques_for_dilution....pdf

/u/doctor_lisa is a scammer, please warn mods, Account created today, right after his other fake vendor account AKA /u/plant_success was reported for scamming, check post history, same posts for both accounts for karma, please upvote for visibility

[27 Points] OpiLuvr:

Some accounts look like obvious fakes if you look at their profile, but there will be others that aren't so the info you've given is very useful.

Its just a shame people still DD on reddit. Its the biggest red flag.

[22 Points] lamoustache:

FYI.

"COINTELPRO Techniques for dilution, misdirection and control of a internet forum" was apparently first posted in 2008 on a Ron Paul affiliated forum.

Its has since been rebranded as part of "The Gentleman's Guide To Forum Spies" a mash-up of playbooks on online deception, manipulation, disinformation, propaganda, you name it.

Part 2, "Twenty-Five Rules of Disinformation and 3, "Eight Traits of the Disinformationalist were written by a conspirationist named H. Michael Sweeney, a.k.a "The Professional Paranoid" in the late nineties (1997?)

Part 4 is claimed to come from a booklet "How To Spot a Spy" and was last edited (at least the version circulating) by a "batshit insane blogger and crank, who calls herself a "scientific mystic and PaleoChristian Shaman", Laura Knight Jadczyk, author of highly praised books such as "9/11 the Ultimate Truth" and " High Strangeness: Hyperdimensions & The Process Of Alien Abduction.

part 5 "Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression" may have been written in 1999 by a guy named David Martin from the American Patriot Network or American Freedom Network, they would probably call themselves America Great Again Freedom Network nowadays... you get the idea.

You might want to read about the GCHQ's JTRIG unit

Please. That guide thing is just a repost from the Intel Exchange, which is now full of nuts who think the NSA is attempting to hack their computers using lazer beams. Some random idiot scammer found it and thought pming it would be a good idea. None of the measures in that guide were written up specifically for r/darknetmarkets.

Let's not pretend this is opsec. It isn't. This is panicking about creepy pasta grade nonsense.

Posting this because this thread is killing braincells. This sub is here for adults who wish to choose what substances they put into their bodies, and wish to buy those substances in the safest way possible. Opsec is the most important tool we have for keeping ourselves safe. Good opsec keeps us out of legal trouble, bad opsec gets us sent to a big bubba-approved institution.

When someone makes a thread which makes claims about opsec, or claims about a threat to our opsec or to this sub then it needs to be taken seriously. But it also needs to be taken skeptically. Blindly agreeing to any suggestions about opsec is not just dumb, it's dangerous. It means we are devoting resources to securing ourselves threats which may lack substance, while potentially neglecting more worrying threats.

A lack of willingness to critically analyse not just the information we are receiving, but also the motive of the delivery boy is the issue. This thread has incorporated a completely irrelevant and outdated guide for "no particular reason". No one has actually claimed to have used that guide here. No one has any evidence of the tactics in that guide being used here. The other, more genuine, concern raised in the thread, scammers, are not using these tactics here. They're just creating lots of accounts and trying to get upvotes. The kind of opsec that this thread encourages is the worst kind. It's opsec in response to a non-existent threat. We could be using this time to discuss the importance or updating the Tor browser, verifying software you download using gpg or encrypting all communications. These things are all opsec in response to very real threats.

Also think about the motive of the poster. Just because someone posts about opsec doesn't mean that they're your friend. They could want quick upvotes, scammers do this all the time. They could have negative intentions for the community and wish to become trusted by faking an interest in our continued safety, and by acting like the faithful watchdog of the sub. The people who shouts the loudest and get angry with anyone who has doubts are often either uncertain about what they are claiming or insincere. If the person making a claim about opsec is challenged and either fails to clearly define what they are claiming, or ignores all evidence that contradicts their claim then they are intellectually dishonest and someone you should not trust.

I guess what I am trying to say here is to think about the things you read and be careful about accepting them. I believe this is important for anyone who wants to practise good opsec; don't just follow others because they say something is a good, don't just accept opinions of people who claim experience. And question why someone is telling you something and asking you to agree. Or why someone is acting in a particular way.

@ /u/MDMangel I don't have any problem with you in particular but your comments towards me earlier were personal. Others in this thread have challenged your claims and you have either avoided the questions or tried to insult them. The account you accused of being a shill pm'd me after. In my view you were wrong about that and should probably apologize. You won't but whatever. If you can't see the problem with alerting us all about forum manipulation while in the same thread also arbritarily dismissing views which conflict with your narrative, then I think that you deserve a paragraph in that guide.

TLDR; Be critical and ask the right questions. That's the only way to get the right answer.

Always act like LE is hunting you. Not in the paranoia-filled tin hat way, but make sure you clean up your tracks.

Good reading. thank you!

[1 Points] Chems-HQ:

Thanks for sharing this with everyone, seems rather useful!

[0 Points] The_Debtor_:

That shit reads like a creepypasta. Propably fake.

[1 Points] trynakick:

Good info. A few months back there was a set of scammer accounts on the noobs sub that followed the same pattern of posting one word shit comments for about a month on a slew of drug subs before starting telling noobs to 'PM me'. The garbage accounts can be spotted, just takes a bit of work.

[1 Points] None:

This sub is small its easy to fake anything you want

[1 Points] unidentifiableusage:

I'm sorry but if you're putting yourself at risk by posting on Reddit or other Internet forums you're an absolute mong. You should be aware that any forum can be infiltrated and make sure to have the best opsec (full disclosure mine is shit as I don't buy or sell on DNM just here for the ride). If you're not I worry for your viability as a dealer/buyer.

[1 Points] BakedPastaParty:

I am continually impressed with the community and especially the mod work in this subreddit.

[1 Points] ThrowMeAwayBrosevelt:

Thanks for spreading the word brotha!!! I took one for the team but hopefully it will save the next guy.

[1 Points] Nano-Bunny:

Seems like we can't go more than 2 weeks without this exact post (or one very similar) popping back up can we?

Sorry this is off topic, I couldn't post on the main subreddit and this seemed an okay place to post this:

I went to indigo market which was posted on the majestic garden and made a purchase with $50 in bitcoins.

The seller sent me a package with a random dvd in it and a letter asking for $23 to be paid through paypal.

I'm sure I got scammed, but can I just ignore this? Is this guy going to keep sending me random dvds in the mail and asking for money? Is there anything I can do about this?

[1 Points] Ravelair:

stumbled upon in my travels

Yeah, you stumbled upon it in /r/socialengineering. You are trying so hard to make these techniques sound like big shit when we knew about them 8 years ago.

[1 Points] pinger911:

thanks. people here are angry at this and i dont know why . if it bothers you so much then dont look . but anyways , know thy enemy .
