[OPSEC/Computer] Strategy for better legal deniability of postal address

I had a recent discussion with a friend about what I consider the weakest point of DNM transactions - the fact that at some point you need to give a real name and address if you want a high probability of the delivery making it to you. Sure, you can try to anonymously rent post office boxes, find a drop address or whatever else, but for an occasional buyer that's a lot of effort.

Some folks suggest using a fake name, but that's a sure way to increase the probability of the package never being delivered to you or the package getting more scrutiny since the name doesn't match up. Vendors always discourage it as well.

What about sending a trickle of letters to your real address but with a fake name in advance, to 'establish' the name as associated with your address? Then the mailman will learn to recognize it and send mail with that name on through. You send them every few weeks or month or so for a while, and monitor that they make it through. Then when you want to make a DNM order, use that name.

If for some reason you get a controlled delivery or anything else, you have a much better alibi established. You don't know why you keep getting mail for this random person, you've never met them!

Thoughts?

Sounds like a better idea then a fake name alone... really fake or real name is no matter. If you are arrested it is either becuase they did a CD or you admitted to something. Fake name or not you have to take possession of the package.

I will say this though - I signed up for a credit card using my name and a friends address years ago becuase I didn't want my sister knowing. My legal address was different from his, and not only was i approved and mailed the credit card it got to his address just fine. Then again mail that is bulk postage paid is less likely to be returned and will probably never be scrutinized because ther eis such a direct connection to the company.

Cops dont care who its addressed to, you keep getting drugs and not reporting them therefore you are posessing them. The name doesnt matter except that you dont want a drug dealer to have it.

There've been a LOT of people who've lived in my house. I get mail addressed to almost 20 different people.

I have to say the idea of using a fake name is probably a bad idea. They don't need a signature to do a CD, in fact just taking possession of the package is enough in most cases to raid your home. If you took it inside and then opened it, not only do they hit you with possession of narcotics but you technically commited mail fraud too, another felony they can nail you with.

If the package is in your name and you open it, all you have to do is say you didn't know what it was. You opened it because you were curious.... who wouldn't open a package addressed to themselves? Its still up to LE to prove you knew what was in the package before hand.

If they are at the point of doing a CD then they already know drugs are going to that address. The name doesn't really matter at that point, as they just need somebody at the address to take possession before they raid.

If you are asian, it shouldn't be hard. I'm guessing most delivery men only look at the last name of an asian household. So just make up a first name. And if the package is compromised, no one in the household should be.

Honestly somethings aren't worth the effort, in your situation I would just use a drop. Creating a fake string of letters, over a period of time isn't worth the effort to me. Any time you decide to use the DNM's you are putting your self at risk. You can alleviate the risk by many controversial means such as tumbling, fake PO box, and drops. However once you receive your package fake name or not LE can nab you. But you're trying to create plausible deniablity so it could work.

Just my two cents.
