Vendor is requesting that buyers post a reddit advertisement of his product and send link in order to purchase?

Is this a scam or is this something people do now? Saw this on Dream. I also saw someone leave a review on this sub about that vendors product claiming the quality was excellent and basically wrote about a page of info about it. Not sure how he would have tested the quality if he has to write a review beforehand. Should I stay away?

But that doesn't even make sense. Why not order from one of the 1,000 other vendors that don't require SE?
