What does DNHL mean when it asks me to sign my key?

So I previously used iGolder for my PGP needs as it was super easy. I went to sign up recently for DarkNetHeroesLeague and it rejected the iGolder PGP keys. I edited the header slightly to make it look like it wasn't from iGolder and it let me in, however I cannot decrypt messages sent to that key now. I'm trying to change it, so I installed GnuPG and generated a key, and when I enter it into DNHL it asks me to sign the key as if I was signing a message. What exactly is it asking me to do? I read up on signing stuff, but it doesn't make sense on how/why I would sign the key. Is it asking me to take my Public Key and sign it and then give it the output?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Don't use iGolder, you have no idea what logs they keep.

In tails and in the PGP windows app, there is a part for signing messages. I don't remember this in DHL, is it because you're trying to change the key on there? It's probably asking you to sign the new one with the old one to prove its you.

It sounds like they're asking you to post a clear signed message. To sign a message, you'll be required to enter the passphrase to your private key associated with the public key you have stored in your profile on the market. It's quite simple to sign a message so go to the GnuPG website and follow the instructions. If you can't find any there, have a look at the tutorial with screen shots showing how to use gpg4usb at www.gpg4usb.org. Most PGP clients are similar in functionality and essentially perform the same tasks. Your client will have an option to sign a message somewhere in the drop down menus. Signing the message requires the user to have knowledge of the passphrase to your private key which only the original key generator / true owner should know or have access to it.
