Vendor made a mistake and sent me extra product- now wants me to pay for it. What do I do?

I ordered about $70 of mid-range weed from a reputable vendor. We communicated for a bit first over a few things- I mainly wanted to know if it would make it by a certain date. They were helpful. Unfortunately, it didn't make it in time, but it did make it and all was well except---

I didn't just get what I ordered and paid for. I got an extract as well, that is actually probably worth more than the weed I bought. I never ordered this or even mentioned possibly ordering it and I don't particularly want it. I mean sure, it's great, but...

The vendor messaged me the day before the package arrived and said they sent the extract and the weed and just to send them money for the extract to this wallet address to pay him back in full. I messaged them back and was like, I never ordered that, so I think you're messaging the wrong person. I just ordered weed from you.

But when I got the package today... yeah the extract was in it and now he's asking me to pay the difference of what I owe. I don't know what to do cause I don't have the btc for it currently and don't really have the money for it right now anyway. Plus I never asked for it and ordered it.

At the same time though he did send it, and keeping it is like stealing it, and I'm not risking anything by sending it back to him. I also don't like the idea of pissing someone off who has my address.

I'm really not sure what to do. The whole thing is weird. The vendor obviously somehow got confused. Should I be paying for his mistake?

What would you do?

Send him 0.0036 bitcoin and tell him you know he asked for the money for the extract, but you must have accidentally sent him the money for the other guy's fart in a jar.

Ask him to send you the fart in the jar and that should be all quitsies.

If he gets trappy about it, just remind him the only thing he has to do, is put the right thing in a fucking envelope. As he can't even get that right, he's not really in a position to be giving it the Charlie big potato's.

[37 Points] FastDonut:

Its his bad in my opinion. Its not your fault that he didn't pay attention to his packaging. Thats pretty much one of the commandments of being a vendor. It's not safe for him to give you his address and its not a good idea for you to ship it back. Plus he can't really expect you to have to coin to pay for his mistake, that wasn't included in his terms and definitely wasn't something you signed up for in your order. Your not stealing imo. It would be stupid to send it back and even more idiotic to pay for something that you did not request. It is his fault on all accounts. If he didn't want to lose the extract, he should have paid attention when he was sending illegal substances via post. And as far as worrying because he has your address, hes a drug dealer so I don't think he would really draw any unnecessary attention to himself for payback over a mistake that he made.

[25 Points] DickClarkFive:

His fault. I'd offer to send it back, AS A FAVOR, if he wants to provide an address, which he probably won't. Beyond that, it's pretty much "bank error in your favor collect 200$"

I've had vendors fuck up (I think it was a fuck up) and send me my order twice. (happened two times very recently.) Two separate packages containing exactly what I ordered. I just gave them good reviews and didn't mention it. But it did make me question the organizational skills of their operation.

[18 Points] BaileyJayOFFICIAL:

Just be up-front with them that you don't have the funds. It is their fuck up.

[15 Points] galmse:

Seems all the other commenters are standing on principle here and saying it's his fault. That's true, but this isn't a normal buyer/seller relationship you have here. He still has the potential to make your life a bit more difficult. And it's easy to stand on principle over the internet when you have nothing personal at stake.

If he insists that you have to pay him and won't accept no for an answer, maybe you could suggest a payment plan to soften the blow. Hey, at least you get the extract. If you decide flat-out not to pay him, you might have to clean house for a while. No, you shouldn't have to, no, it's not fair, but I'd never underestimate the vindictiveness and self-importance of some people. If he wants to waste enough time and/or money, he could keep mailing you shit with poor stealth until you come to LEO's attention.

Under no circumstances would I try mailing it back to him. This isn't the best time to be forced to come up with good opsec for mailing scheduled things.

[5 Points] daper27:

Yeah man that's his bad, yo. If you gave the dude the wrong address, think he is going to comp you for his mistake? Hell no he ain't. Now he'll learn a lesson. You don't need to pay for his mistakes, just like he will emphatically insist he won't pay for your mistakes. I would just offer to ship it back to him (research this more and you could maybe do this safely - much more a risk for him) but refuse to buy his product. Ridiculous.

edit: don't actually ship, on second thought, just offer to him, i'm sure he'd refuse

These are the kind of posts I find seriously funny. Let's imagine for a moment that we're not talking about weed but idk rice from billsorganicsuperrice.com Does anybody have any question what would happen if they shipped a customer 2 pounds of rice instead of one?

They would not contact the customer and ask them to pay the difference. They would not ask the customer to ship the excess to another customer. They, in all likelihood, would not ask the customer to send the excess back.

Selling drugs is a business like any other. I don't understand why people keep trying to make it different.

This is fucking insane and I hate seeing this every time this topic fucks up. The vendor made a mistake and it'd be massively unreasonable to expect you to send it back, further if you are like a lot of people you only keep enough coins for the order you intend to make, since the volatile nature of coins can cause you to loose money.

To even begin to demand payment for it is fucked up, he messed up, it's his fault. Fuck them.

[5 Points] BenzoBlotters:

How is any action other than "I fucked up, free shit for you." acceptable behavior from the vendor at this point?

The customer shipping it back? Fuck that.

The customer drop shipping it to another customer? Fuck that even more. There's a big difference between being a customer and being a vendor, and the OPSEC concerns that come with each.

Demand the customer pay? FUCK THAT. You screwed up. Eat it. If you can't afford it, you shouldn't be vending.

He should already be getting a negative review for responding with anything other than an apology and a "Thank you for your business."

[4 Points] None:

I'm not risking anything by sending it back to him.

Yeah you are.

This is on him and it isn't your fault. Just tell a simple lie and that you are really broke. Then don't do business with him again.

[2 Points] presari0:

Who the fuck is this stupid vendor? And NO! Dont pay this twat -you didnt order, you dont pay for it (especially because you said you dont even want it (which would be why you didnt order it!)). It is a low and sneaky move to send someone something they didnt order and then tell them they need to pay for it, fuck him. Give us a name please.

[2 Points] FUCKhumboldtfarms:

bro thats some purefiremeds type shit right there. whos the vendor? fuck that motherfucker tho real talk. he's just trying to scam you. tell him to suck your cock and keep it moving.

[2 Points] 5moked:

Dude, the whole thing is a selective scam. Drug dealers have been dicks forever. I've had two instances of the same weed vendor sending me double orders and each time I've pissed myself laughing and kept my mouth shut. You are buying an illegal product and they are selling it. Whilst we might see the DNM's as a respectable way to purchase items, that's only a by product of the competition vendors have on the markets; the moment they act like dicks is the moment they are pushed out of the market. Morality goes out the window. Physically laugh at them in an encrypted pgp message and find another vendor, taking all of a couple of hours' research (if that). Do you really think they will spend more than the cost of the item in question in hassling you? No, of course they won't!

[2 Points] pscifi:

He fucked up. You don't owe him anything. I hope you didn't like him because he probably won't let you order from him until you "make it right" oh well. move on.

[1 Points] mynamebazac:

As a seller he should know that you aren't going to pay him back move on.

[0 Points] R4ID:

honestly, its their fuck up so it depends on what sort of relationship you have with the vendor... i had 1 of my all time fav vendors send me a double order by mistake (60g instead of 30g) of M... being an honorable person i msg'd the vendor to let him know and i told him i would pay him for the difference..(i only messaged him because i would get 1 order a week and i didnt want him to get screwed over since he helped me so much)

but its totally up to you. for the vendor to msg u before hand and be like oh i sent u this by mistake and now u gotta pay me.. i feel thats kinda rude. if the vendor was smart at all, he would count it as a loss and just say o well next time i wont fuck up. IMO dont pay him unless u want to continue doing business with him

[0 Points] imInLoveWItDaCoCo:

Bruh you better keep that shit, fuck wrong with you.

[0 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

I'm always sending out too much, but its my mistake. If I asked them to pay half of it with their next order it would put them off and I'd lose a good customer. Drug vendors don't have returns dedepartments, but we have broke customers who like a bargain after xmas.

Suggest to him that he sends you a pre-addressed envelope addressed to another customer he trusts. You just post it on, the next customer to receive it will confirm its weight (everybody has scales nowadays), and he gets his cannabis concentrate for, say, 75% of the normal cost.

Weed vendors can be a bit disorganized if they get high on their own supply (never trust a vendor who doesn't), and they have to be good at stealth because weed stinks. But they're only a couple of steps up the vendor ladder from the MXE vendors.

If he doesn't know the old "post it on to one of my best customers" trick, HE owes YOU for explaining it to him.

One day he will get a complaint from a customer about 3.5g of weed, saying "Its so terrible that its unsmokeable. I'm not paying and I've given you a 0/5 rating because its clearly laced with LSD and Angel Dust". He will say "post the unused weed on to this customer etc etc. He will pay me pro rata, and I will pay the postage AND refund you for the unsmokeable weed"

You know he's smoked it all. They have to claim to have flushed it, and the unsophisticated scam attempt is quietly dropped..

The vendor would never have known about the extra item if you weren't honest enough to tell him. Hes not angry at you. He's angry because he can't remember which customer DID order it.

The other customer will politely mention his missing item, and you can post it to the customer.

Unless....no...I'm sure you haven't smoked it.

If you have, that's different. You need to pay for it!

[0 Points] bigmacmicmac:

IMO the best thing to do would be to offer to send it back (ask him to send you some stamps). It's safe since after you get the stamps you can just drop it off at a blue box anywhere.

If he tells you to pay for it, tell him you can't and that a payment plan is not an option either since you have other things to pay for and didn't even want the product. Offer to pay half of what it costs (pretty reasonable). If he threatens to oust you, report the message history to the Agora admins and burn house after that.

Some shitty vendors man.

[-2 Points] presari0:

Please say this was humboldtfarms ..that would put the final nail in his PFM coffin.

[-3 Points] Hank_Vendor:

Or tell him to wait until someone orders it. Say you will post it to them copying his sophisticated mailing techniques. Only you will actually put the right thing in the envelope to save more problems.
