I'm not sure if this is a mistake on my behalf, or this is a shady vendor:
I placed an order with a well reviewed vendor for the first time on Nucleus (over 300 5 star ratings, even better rated on Agora) and sent my address encrypted using their public key, following the same process I use with every order. The vendor sent me a message asking for my address again, once again I encrypted it and sent it to the vendor, they again claimed they could not decrypt it and that I should use igolder.com, I then started over with the encryption (deleted their public key, re-added it) and sent my address again: he once again claims that it does not work and replied with:
its not working mate, use igolder.com mate and just copy and paste my public key directly etc
I have placed orders with multiple vendors before and after the order with this vendor and I have never had a problem with a vendor decrypting my address. At this point I'm confused: why wouldn't he be able to decrypt my message, should I assume that the vendor is compromised and ask to cancel my order and move on? I'm not comfortable using igolder and I don't understand why he thinks this will solve the problem...
Any thoughts?
That sounds shady as fuck. Especially since you gave it to him again. I personally wouldnt use igolder and would just go with another vendor. What vendor did you buy from?
