Postage not paid for...? (UK)

Today I got a notice through my letterbox stating that a package is at the sorting office for me, as the sender didn't pay the full postage and I have to pay the difference... I'm not expecting anything in the post other than some weed (domestic) - is the general consensus that going there and picking it up is bad idea? Thanks in advance everyone :)

Stop being a pussy and go and pick it up! The last thing you want is a member of staff opening a package of bud with your name on because it's been sat there for weeks on end.

Pick it up, happens all the time with normal post, it just means they didn't put enough stamps on so you need to pay like £1

The police aren't going to sit in a post office for days waiting for you to come pick up a small amount of weed which they won't even have found.

A month later

"This package is still here, what the fuck, why would they not pick it up?"

"I know right let's open it since they obviously don't want it"

"HOLY FUCK IT'S ILLEGAL DRUGS LETS CALL THE POLICE"

Police arrive

"You are under arrest for possession of cannabis with intent to supply"

"BUT THEY AREN'T MY DRUGS"

"Sure sure sure"

If it was something bad it wouldn't be the Post Office asking you to come get it now would it, wouldn't even make it that far.

For everyone posting bullshit who does not have a clue about recent UK changes heres some facts for you.

Very recently the postage service decided to change the price of their stamps and packagers per weight ratio etc.

All vendors who had been previously sending out packages did not notice and so then the postage was underpaid under the new rules, many vendors are still unaware.

Also my past 2 out of 3 large parcels all in the UK have had underpaid postage, luckily my post man does not bother me for 12 pence. :)

Who's the vendor?

[1 Points] eleventhtoe:

I have had things come international and not have enough postage. Go get it no biggie.

I've had this happen a couple of times with clearnet stuff (idiot eBayers) so just go pick it up. It's not a trap, if that's what you're concerned about. As others have said, it's fairly common.

sounds normal, happened with other packages to me before not dnm purchases tho

[1 Points] justf-ckingdoit:

This has happened to me twice

IIRC you have three options

  1. Turn up in person with ID and funds
  2. Pay online on RM website
  3. affix stamps to postage not paid notice and post to post office, they then redeliver.

I went with option 2 both times

[1 Points] Foolish_ness:

Thanks everyone one, just had never happened and with the general worry of controlled deliveries, thought this could be similar - if I don't post in the next few hours, it's all of your faults! ;)

Don't go or v&

I would just ask for a reship and consider that package lost.

Yea there's no way id go. Try to talk to your vendor if not take the loss. I would advise against a reship just in case.
