As someone who is fascinated with the Darknet Markets and loves board/card games, I've decided to combine them. I've been designing a Darknet Markets based card game. The game would be player as a customer and would focus around things such as making purchases, managing drops and avoiding CD's. There are still a lot more details to be worked out before I'm anywhere near going into much detail, but before I do that I was curious how much interest there would be in such a game.
After researching costs of manufacturing, I could in theory have a Kickstarter for $500. With the support of 25 people willing to pay $20 I could bring this game to light. I have no interest in trying to make this game "mainstream". Tor and these markets get enough questionable publicity, I have no intention to add to that. I only aim to make this game, and if the demand is there, sell it to those in the community whom like myself would find it a fun, quirky thing to have.
The game would NOT be distributed through ANY markets, nor would it have any association with one. No profits or parts if this game would be be connected to any illicit activity whatsoever. If I can get enough backing, I WOULD however like to donate part of the profits to an organization such as Tor, NORML, MAPS or even LEAP.
If this does come to fruition, I would be very interested in distributing it through a tor site, and have transactions take place via pgp encrypted messages and payed for with bitcoins.
There are still a lot of questions and I'm excited to get as much feedback as possible so I can make this come to life.
One big sticking point is Kickstarter, how comfortable do you think those in the community would feel backing something through Kickstarter that they learned about from here?
Is there and alternate option to Kickstarter that is more anonymous that you would prefer?
I can't be the only one who would enjoy a game like this......right?
Fun for the whole family!
