DarkNetMarkets, general thoughts and inquiries.

Edit: Should've known better to post random rambling thoughts on reddit. So alright, here are my questions.

Questions: level of security in darknetmarkets, how often and who does the state/the feds and DEA go after? And who do hackers/phishers go after? How secure is Tor and PgP really as well as other levels of security? Also is it bad to have a clear net browser open while doing DNM business on tor?

Other thoughts: what is the viability of making darknetmarkets more formal and less illegal. As in the state backing off a bit on the "war on drugs". Aside from violence, bad quality products, and stealing, why does the state go after people? Does it really mess with the economy that much?

Theres a bunch of articles popping out on DNM's lately, like how customer service in DNm's is great, how it has a very elaborate structure and organization, and so forth. It is almost becoming "trendy" and many newbie people are jumping on darknetmarkets. Was just pondering some things since I'm really new to this all.

I used to think DNM's were pretty much kiddy porn, guns, stolen information and so forth. Most info out on them is extremely negative. Starting to realize not all are like that and that some arent all that bad. So I wanted to ask a few questions to get a better picture.

Anyways, to the point.

And yet I'm still searching for the point.

pretty high, and anyone that they can reasonable leads on, and is making noise.

And who do hackers/phishers go after?

lol. everyone.

How secure is Tor and PgP really as well as other levels of security?

PGP and Bitcoin and most other encryption are the most secure things the darknet relies on. Tor and I2P all are secondary, as there have been backdoors and deanonymization via Tor in the past.

Also is it bad to have a clear net browser open while doing DNM business on tor?

It can be. But if your smart, and follow the rules on the Tor website, and use TAILS, that shouldn't be an issue.

a lot of us here believe drugs should be legal, for lots of different reasons. however, the war on drugs is complex, and funds many different industries. breaking this system down is considered by many close to impossible at this point. but many also believe the DNM are a step in the right direction.

Welcome to the Eternal September of the internet.

I think the answer you are looking for is, very little. But the Darknet is awesome.

Aside from violence, bad quality products, and stealing, why does the state go after people?

Because they brought in some stupid laws thinking they were doing the right thing but now it has got to the point where it is easier for them to kill people and break things than admit they were wrong.

Does it really mess with the economy that much?

Although the governments will go after whatever sales can't get tax money on, they would make the money back tenfold if they regulated and taxed all the products. The war on drugs is a bigger fish in politics for public relations however, most adults don't have any drug experience beyond drinking and maybe some weed when they were younger, so to them a drug user is a skinny, no good, unproductive junkie who would rob a girl scout or break into an old ladies house to get money for their fix. This kind of attitude allows politicians to play on fears with absolute ease and scare people into trying to keep fighting against drugs and drug users.

They go after people because drugs are illegal...?
