Tails wifi not working...

So I posted this on r/darknetmarketsnoobs but I never got an answer besides letting them know there is a bug. So I was running tails on another laptop and the Internet worked fine. I used tails maybe 3-4 times before it showed that there was no network connection. I recently changed laptops and it still reads that there is no network connection. What should I do?

Could you be a lot more specific? Any specific messages they gave you? Did you try to connect to the same network each time?

I am aware of one bug that comes up relatively often. Many Debian-based distros (that includes Tails) won't automatically connect to certain enterprise networks, which usually end up being university networks. The OS assumes the network uses a different authentication type and fails. It believe it either assumes TLS or PEAP, and you have to switch to the other one. If you're on this kind of enterprise network, you can try that in the settings dialog for that network's connection.

Details please! I've had issues previously b/c it would take the clock forever to sync. Once in a while it just won't sync and thus TOR isn't active.

Try updating your network drivers.

There are some wireless cards that do not have readily-integrated drivers for GNU/Linux at this time. You may need to download a proprietary driver or firmware from a source like http://wireless.kernel.org/ , or look up the card in question on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessCardsSupported

You can always buy a Linux-compatible wifi card (Atheros is usually recommended) for less than $10 on ebay, or swap a non-compatible wifi card for one that's compatible. Of course, you should make sure that this is what's going on, first.
