Remember BlackBank? My exchanges with mdparity.

Firstly, I'm a vendor who by happenstance got to know mdparity- by accident, or perhaps methodically on his part.. to share his side of the story.

It's much too late in the evening for me to provide a narrative of my experience with Black Bank and mdparity. Soon, I will post some facts that I know from which you all can extrapolate and come to your own conclusions.

What I will say is I know who he is. His real name, what he looks like, where he has lived/lives, his real profession.. etc. And that we've also had phone conversations on his personal cell phone, video chatted... and got to know about his chaotic life. I had even considered him a friend.

I will share with you all his side of story omitting details that could risk mine and his identification. From what I share, you can all extrapolate on what truly happened.

I had considered this post and wasn't sure if I'd ever write it. I never directly asked him if it was a post he'd be comfortable with- in some ways I think he was sharing what he shared expecting I would write this post but also considered the possibility that sharing his story was merely cathartic.

Something I stumbled upon today made me feel compelled to share this. And sorry for the cliffhanger.. I want to be careful how I craft this post.

Sounds like you just want some attention. mdparity is gone. So is the coin, and BlackBank. Has been for over a year now.

If you really have the information you claim to have, you would have posted this a long time ago, and or sold the information. Lets be real...

You literally just told us you have the story, but then proceeded to provide us with literally 0 information.

This was a long and gone event for me, I had completely forgotten about it, but it would be nice to hear what happened.

Can you at least say if he was sick or if it was a lie? Did he plan to scam the whole time or did shit go wrong and he just said fuck it and left?

Also, it seems really weird that you would have just 'accidentally' met him. I mean even if you did meet him in real life, he's not gonna go around shouting 'I WAS MDPARITY!!".

Honestly this post is pointless.

I never had issues with Black Bank in the past. Did the admin of Black Bank pulled off an exit-scam in the past, no?

[1 Points] TheBlackBankStory:

...continuing, having trouble sleeping, completely unrelated to this topic- BlackBank has never been something I lost sleep over.

So after his accounts of what transpired and having gotten to know this person over several days and how genuine he seemed and even thinking back how I can't conceivably believe he was a master con artist, I had concluded in my mind that what he was telling was the truth- the fear that personal affairs may have brought unwanted attention from authorities and had to make a move.

The slight inkling of misdirection on his part; particularly because he never discussed what he intended to do with the coins, did arise but was quickly subdued by our interactions over the days as we continued contact.

Few days after his revelation, I receive an email from him proclaiming he had managed to "pwn the entire block chain." This is when things start to get fishy... he had an alpha link to a feature that blockchain.info was working on- IIRC BTC wallet 2.0 or something of that nature, and claimed he was able take over a wallet containing a substantial amount of coins. I asked, out of mere curiosity, how he had done it. Sure, stealing coins out of a wallet that's been identified as containing stolen coins did cross my mind, but that was ancillary to the true nature of why I wanted to know how it was done. As a vendor, you will not encounter one as honest, ethical, and generous as I am. Back to the story... I don't know if it was naivety on his part, but he did- he shared screen shots, bits and pieces of how he had managed to take over a wallet containing a substantial amount of coins... it was through this alpha link of bitcoin.info that he had screens of javascript function calls through the debugger console of his web browser from which he claimed he took over the wallet, along with screens of the he appearing to be in control of the wallet (it wasn't obvious at first that he really did NOT have the private key to the wallet).

As proof, he told me to go to the blockchain and pick "any" wallet.. and I did.. entirely random- and he sent screens back that did appear to me that the wallet I chose by random, he had access to.

He didn't outline the steps, I assumed intentionally because perhaps either there was NO method at all or wanted to keep it to himself. So I replied asking he provided explicit steps- that request was met we responses that were nonsensical and elusive. So I took it upon myself and tried. Spent a couple of days trying, believing there was this easy backdoor to take over a wallet. I looked studied his screens- very evident he did not have a good comprehension of function calls; syntax errors missing on function calls. I thought maybe, he did this as a diversion tactic because he wanted to keep the method to himself. Then something on one of his screens caught my eye- that he did have some "control" of the wallet but did not have the private key (how do you spend it if you don't have it, right?)

I emailed him and was furious at the amount of time I spent believing that he had truly found a way to method. He did not reply for a couple of days- not to emails, not answering phone calls. Finally after a couple of days he responded- in my messages I had made it very clear that the "method" he shared was bullshit and that I caught him on it. He, in an indirect way admitted that he was in fact caught in the act of trying to deceive me but never gave an explanation. He apologized- I Was so angry because I had foolishly spent two of my evenings trying to break into a wallet. I never made threats because I'm not a vindictive fellow... just angry at the time wasted on something that was never there. He offered to send me 10 BTC as a consolation which I did not accept... partially not believing he'd ever actually follow through on his word (if he won't give me my vendor fee back, why would he give me 10 BTC?).

After the confrontation, my contact with him subsided. I tried to be a friend and checked in on him- he seemed to lose interest in me after the confrontation. That was autumn of 2015..

Fast forward to now. I stumbled upon something that was clearly his work (not under his pseudonym, his real name etc)... and I won't explain what kind of work, or what "it" even is. But try and imagine how someone could take off with so many coins and hoard it for a period of time then cashing out at some point wit as few eye brows being raised as possible- I can only think of one way. This is what I think his intentions were/are.

In hindsight, if my theory is correct, everything sketchy from the potentially choreographed "attack" with his "cronies" to catching him trying to deceive me.. it was all a mirage.

I know the ending is a little cryptic but I truly don't want the guy to be found out. I posted this because I feel like I was bamboozled all this time. Not as a vendetta (this should be evident by the delicate way I tried to craft my thoughts) but to get others' opinions on the matter.

[0 Points] TheBlackBankStory:

It doesn't matter to me whether or not you believe the story...

But I will share how we first got acquainted. As I had said previously, I was a vendor (still am) on Abraxas at the time. A customer who ordered from me was very appreciative of my generosity (I pack them fat) and they offered to tip me, to which I declined.

They placed another order and a few days later they contacted me again thanking me for the generous package, And this time offer a bigger tip, and I again declined. In his message, he had rambled off some strange personal things- how he was going through a hard time... etc.

So I courteously wrote him back this time he happened to be online. I don't remember exactly what I said to this person but we some how engaged in this pseudo-real time messaging through Abraxas market. Somewhere between the back and forth, I asked him what he was doing. His response was something to the effect they're stealing coins from wallets on the market through some vulnerability.

He didn't know this at the time, I happen to also be, and I purposefully use the word "technologist." Intrigued, I asked him to show me.. and cut and pasted a bunch of XML that contained wallet address, transactions etc. straight out of the market link. I didn't care to gloss over the content he sent, but I naively believed him.

He then asked me to get on Google Hangouts and wanted to show me an exploit he discovered on freebitco.in. The exploit was for a hi-low game that they have, hi-lo. You bet bitcoins on whether a random number is going to be higher than X or lower than Y. He had found a vulnerability that allowed you to bet one half of the lowest amount you can bet (something several zeroes to the right of the decimal point). If you win, then you earn the minimum betting amount. If you lose, they deduct zero from your pot since .xxxxxxxxx5 was something the system didn't account for. (PS the vulnerability has been long fixed)

After he shared that, I became a little obsessed with the site and how I could take advantage of the vulnerability- even going as far as developing a little app that automated this for you but with additional logic that if the pot gets to a certain amount, it would gradually increase the betting amount and was dynamic. The site requires you to click the "roll" button which I accomplished through a WinAPI. I really invested in this method, so much as renting a few VPS and have them run concurrently. However after several days of multiple instances of my app running on VPSes and virtual machines, the system always fucked me and had to start all over (I think a bug I didn't account for in my app's logic on how much to bet).

Anyways.. that was a sort of tangent that's not really relevant in this post. By revealing this exploit, it solidified my opinion of him as being a good "hacker" so to speak. He then explained to me how he was working on an app which is capable of taking over wallets and that he knows how to do it but had only 50% of it completed and promised to show me once he's finished.

to be continued (work day and I got to work)...

PS - Ikeep in mind I still didn't know at this point he is MDParity
