So much for helping new vendors, greed prevails - Evolution now charging for vendor accounts.

So much for "trying to help new vendors break into the market" as their PR guy said in an interview on deep(dot)web. Days later, I've tried to sign up for a vendor account and BAM "you need to deposit 0.500 btc".

Greed, as it always does on these markets, prevails again. Those darn fraudsters almost had a good market going. Losing respect now for sure.

It's hard to get into vending due to super high fees. Real. big. fucking. bummer. Guess fraudsters will be without my beautiful dope and coke. They'll probably do what they do best soon anyway and steal everyone's money. It is a fraud market.

it's .5 btc. if you can't get that or are too lazy to have singed up for one when they were free then you shouldn't be a vendor.

If you ever notice, Kimble's kind of an ass. Not a flagrant one, mind you, just an uncooperative type. He's not rude, or crude, but he seems to not give much of two fucks what any of the members have to say.

Seriously, every suggestion I've seen someone give about the site that's not the simplest of "press button to resolve error" tasks, he just dismisses it, saying it's not necessary, or we don't really need this improvement. Every time. That's just laziness. Evolution's superb in design, but there is always room for improvement in everything, and he seems to think there isn't.

At least when Ross and Schultz were around, they'd earnestly hear out any (reasonable) suggestions people would give. Not that either of them are perfect, but that's a respectable quality in an administrator.

Cloud 9 is still free. My Evo feedback is growing faster than my Cloud 9 acct but I'm getting bigger buys on C9. I'd say give it a try.

Weeds out the shitty dealers and scammers. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

I understand your dilemma, but I have to side with everyone else on this. Even fronted, it shouldn't be difficult to sell the stuff locally and raise money for the vendors fee. Shit, you could sell a couple eight balls of dope and come up with the cash.

Here's the snippet of the interview with Evo's PR guy. When they address the vendor bonds (Interview is only 5 days old):

DeepDotWeb: What are the vendor bonds / fees / FE policy / Scammers status on Evo? Boogie: Great thing is that there are no vendor fees to register, we want to give the new vendors a chance with out needing the extra capital to get started. However dont think we arent wise to scammers thinking they can easily set up shop and rip people off, ooh no, our FE policy is a very unique one – no one can ask for FE until they meet our requirements listed in our wiki, or if they have legacy sales on a previous market they can prove. As for scammers, sadly they do exist just as everywhere in life. So we set up the FE barrier but we also educate those on how to protect themselves because there is so much a market can do to protect you. We actively seek them out and ask the community to do so as well, you gotta use your instinct so we try hard to educate those on how they can protect themselves.

Mr. Boogie has the answer right there. Just like Agora, take care of scammers ASAP once problems arise and there will be no issues. No vendor bond needed and you can "help new vendors out getting started" like you guys really wanted to 5 days ago. Problem solved.

[1 Points] Foolish_ness:

It's a refundable bond - you get it back after 6 months, you know that right? I now there's the risk of them cut and running, but I doubt it'd be within the next six months - they could hold off a little longer and get a lot more.

Those fees help to protect the customer from scammers. That is not greed. That is protecting the customer.

All about perspective buddy...

[0 Points] lolllwuuttttt:

uh yeah wtf its already been proven that vendor bonds do nothing to stop scammers, preventing fe for unconfirmed vendors is the only thing that stops it but still doesnt solve exit scams.

who cares though why would anyone use a market run by a self professed theif, obvious cash grab is obvious
