USPS has an api for tracking. Theoretically, you could open a subreddit called /r/PGPtracking. This sub would be moderated by a bot, and you could send the bot your public PGP key, which it would store along with your username. Take your tracking number, encrypt it to the bot's key, and summon the bot to retrieve tracking data. The bot will use the USPS api to get tracking info and reply back with a message encrypted using your public key. You wouldn't have to use reddit to do this, of course, but when in Rome....

I've actually never asked for or received tracking for any order. I guess I just thought of it as an extra risk. Other than people with very pricey orders, what is the obsession with tracking? Is it just that Xmas eve syndrome? I'm genuinely curious!

i never check drugpack tracking until there's an obvious issue. when i do, i use a good vpn to appear near the sender's or receiver's location. that's all you need really. you could layer Tor on before VPN but I rarely bother.

How do you go upon getting the tracking, just asking the vendor? I thought some vendors don't giving tracking to make sure they are not scammed?

iship.com via Tor.
Just check it in clearnet. it doesn't make a difference. So many people check their tracking multiple times a day every day. USPS has so many packages. It wont make a difference how you do it, IMO.
I'm just assuming, but they probably don't use any of the tracking data for anything.
Also a LOT of vendors send tracking in cleartext.
