Opsec: Prepaid Cash Mobile Wifi Hotspot

Figured I would crowdsource this question here because I am torn.

How safe are these to use for DNM activities if purchased anonymously with cash? Suffice it to say that running Tails alone over a public wifi network is insufficient for my threat model.

I would be using one of these while running Whonix (on a hardened burner laptop) on top of a VPN.

Aside from the risk of getting de-anonymized and having my "true IP" (the IP of the cash prepaid mobile hotspot), which could be linked to device serial and then linked to store where purchased (and possibly CCTV footage at time of purchase), I worry about one of these devices being a geoloc beacon.

sounds a bit over the top to me unless you are wanting to become a vendor .

Given the amount of RCE exploits coming out for WiFi hotspots, and the fact they're pretty much all cheap shitty hardware, an increase in opsec is negligible at best.
