BTC > TOR shapeshift.io XMR > clearnet monero GUI wallet > darknet XMR wallet
Does this provide sufficient obfuscation? Does IP address play a role? I've seen posts claiming it can.
Monero opsec?

You can cut out the Btc and Shapeshif middle-men by buying xmr directly @ localmonero.co

To set monero up on tails refer to this information: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/738fik/rmonero_daily_discussion_september_29_2017/

Good question. I assume TAILS is part of this equation?
If you need to start with BTC, your method above seems to be recommended.
Another one I've seen but seems a little more direct is BTC/Altcoin -> converter -> market. All in one shot.
I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on this.

Good question. I think Monero Opsec and DNM needs to be broken down more.
For instance would this suffice:
Clearnet: Kraken XMR -> MyMonero -> Send to MyMonero or wallet on TAILS -> DNM.

You may want to consider this when thinking of using shapeshift. /r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/72pbjy/shapeshifts_cio_is_an_advisor_for_law_enforcement/

Shapeshift keeps records of uses. I would say follow this guide if you want to use monero and actually gain the anonymity you're looking for
