FUD about giving id to bank tellers

Idk why ive read a couple threads regarding you having to give an id when you do a bank deposit for BTC. people said first BOA was doing it....bullshit ive done it twice. Also just did a transaction at wells fargo not to long ago. I also live in a big city so idk why people have been saying other wise. just my two cents. LBC with bank deposits is still safe. even with you presenting your id anyway didnt bring an issue but for you paranoid people here you go.

But only the true veterans will remember the great BST. how i still wish blueskytraders was still here :/

Well since you are not anonymous at this point you might as well buy the BTC from Circle or Coinbase and not pay the retarded LBC 100$ markup

The whole point is that they know who you are now, it's no longer anonymous.

It depends on the teller at the bank. I believe they're supposed to ask you for ID, some do and some dont. I had tellers asked me for ID so I told them that I left it in my car, that I'll be right back. I just drive to another location.

In my experience it depends on the bank/teller, and/or the deposit amount. I went to a wells fargo yesterday and they didn't ask. The teller just kept trying to get me to sign up for an account. This deposit was for $450. A few months ago I went to a BOA for a $100 deposit and they asked for my id. I just went to a different BOA and they didn't ask. I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time b4 it will always be required unfortunately.

Do they take note of your ID or details?

[1 Points] None:

The official policy is that they require ID but it's kind of like buying tobacco or alcohol. It's up to the clerk how much they care. Honestly tellers don't get paid enough to be doing the IRS/DEA/whatever the fuck abc agency's jobs for them.

Shit I used to get my bitcoin via SMS from blockchain.info. You can't get an easier service than that. But they stopped selling BTC like that a looong time ago.

I don't know about BOA, but Chase has been doing it since 2014 IIRC. I bought a house and leased it out up until late 2013. My tenats would always deposit cash or give me cash and we never had a ID asked for. Late 2015, I was depositing cash and they asked for my ID. I questioned them to why and they said their policy changed in 2014 that all cash deposits require ID, but maybe if the teller knew me or dealt with me a lot they could just not ask cause they know. Anyways, I went in yesterday to deposit cash and always tell them it's a bullshit policy. They said if I use my debit card to deposit they don't need to ask for ID.
