I've been trying to gauge sentiment. Feels like after alpha Bay went down a lot of people noticed now effective monero was at hiding the true value/location of the crypto asset.
Is monero going to become more mainstream on future markets and are there any other coins you guys would prefer to use instead of BTC if given the option?
There are a few privacy focused cryptos but Monero seems to be the most efficient and also uses tried and tested techniques (RingCT). Transactions are quick and painless compared to, for example, zcash which uses something dumb like 2.7gb of RAM and a minute to compute a transaction (by your pc, not by the network).
Something important to note also is that although the coin has an unlimited supply it actually tapers off massively, I can't remember the exact number but coins aren't going to be endlessly produced as people might imagine.
I'll fully admit that I support Monero and those others coins probably aren't terrible. Obviously this site is built by Monero supporters too but you can check out the link anyway for some reasons why Monero is gr8 in comparison to the alternatives: https://moneroforcash.com/monero-vs-dash-vs-zcash-vs-bitcoinmixers.php
Also never heard of PIVX but I saw a graphic they were sharing which is blatantly misleading so I'm immediately put off for that coin.
Yes I think all vendors should start accepting monero, it seems very stable right now and has some really great support/community. The only reason it hasn't been implemented on more markets is because it's not as simple as almost every other crypto, it isn't a bitcoin fork. At least if a market finds it impossible to implement Monero they're probably not a market we can trust, lol.
Oh also one more thing there is currently a contest being held with a rollover prize for anyone that can trace the course of 23 monero, nobody has claimed it in the few days it's been active.
