Question about OTR

So here is a question to those who might know this abit more than I do. Police took my computer a while ago and they were able to decrypt all the encrypted chat done through OTR. The chat was through Jabber and the client used was Pidgin. Now here is the strange thing, it says that by default OTR (Pidgin) didn't save any logs since 2012. That means the police wouldn't be able to decrypt any messages, since there is no logs of the conversations saved on the hard drive, right?

So my question is, how were they able to decrypt any conversation if there was no logs?

Just curiois how did you come under LE radar in first place? Was it DNM related?

Is it possible that the person you were chatting with was saving logs of your conversations?

The Off-the-Record Messaging plugin has the following option which is enabled by default:

Don't log OTR conversations

If the other party unchecked that option and configured pidgin to save logs from the Tools > Preferences > Logging menu, they could have logged all of your conversations with them.

The police could just be lying about where they got the logs from to protect their undercover asset.
