buyers: stop using your real name and email address in your publc pgp key

for the love of fuck! as a vendor, i see this too much (and people using 1024 bit public keys)

when creating a public pgp key, use your market username as your "name" and leave the "email" field blank. for bit size, choose 4096.

remember, everyone can see your public pgp key on your profile page, not just the vendors you buy from.

Ahh that's the same people that don't sign for packs, order to their parents and write FB status updates with DNM hashtags.

With their EXIF data having ass.

Some guys just wanna watch the world burn.

=\

Found a vendors facebook email address as their PGP key address before.

I messaged them on fb with a polite message suggesting they change it. Obviously I made it subtle enough so they knew what was up but someone else reading it it wouldn't be obvious.

and leave the "email" field blank

Some programs require you to fill in the email field. Just punch in a fake one and you're good to go. There is no email verificaiton or any BS like that.

[shower thought] sellers: stop using your vendor name in your pgp key

I was thinking about this the other day. If I was a regular buyer from dnm and the police confiscated my laptop. In my pgp certificates, they would see a long list of vendors names on the market. Yes, they would still need to break into the encryption to see the actual content. But there is enough circumstantial evidence to say I was in comms with the dnm. Just my two cents

Dudes back in the day used to order with usernames that where FirstInitialLastName and shit. Google "Nicholas albano John the Dutchman" I knew albano cos his username was Nalbano lol

[7 Points] d850help:

I literally just use John Doe as my PGP key name and email@domain.com as my email lmao

Instead of leaving the email address blank, I would suggest taking a few minutes to create a sigaint email address and using that. This could come in handy if you're using 2-of-3 multisig and the market goes offline for whatever reason. You would still be able to communicate with buyer/vendor to release any BTC left in escrow, assuming you have saved their PGP key. Chances of this happening are slim, but if it does happen, there could be a lot of money on the line.

Is this going on? Damn.

I blame it on the parents!

Just had this happen with a buyer whos email (this was a sigaint DD) was his firstname.lastname@sigaint. His PGP? Same fucking thing. Then - on his actual order email, where it says "any other specifics" - he put his fucking home/family GMAIL on there lmfao...

I had to let him know; "you really should rethink this whole thing until you have it figured out.. I would burn it all and start fresh, brother?" - He sent me an email yesterday (couple weeks later) with a new username/key - thanking me. Which is cool.. but I still want to know who wouldn't think that one out. He is not a little kid either.. A nerdy middle aged man. (not that I looked him up)..

Sorry - I have to piggyback this one: If I have to hunt down one more motherfucker's PGP for their email or different pseudo, I will revoke your goddamned life. AlpacaPorn88? Awesome username. Lets encrypt a message to you saying how awesome your username is: "Choose PGP out of your list of 9,002" - A...No? B..Nope C..Ehhh; I will fucking look through the whole group, only to throw a tantrum - Finally I will go to the fucking Alpacaporn88.pgp file I saved in the "PGP" folder, import it again, just to see what the bubble on the bottom says: "IHateOrangeMonkeys666@niggeratio.net". Thank you for that. If I saw you on the street, I would roundhouse kick you. Right in the face.

...and sending e-mails from personal g-mail accounts, it happens all the time and it sucks...

People actually do this?

[2 Points] purpletastesgood:

it would be interesting if someone scraped alphabay and found out how many people are using gmail addresses in their public pgp keys

Is there a way I can check if my pgp is 4096 bit? I don't remember from when I made mine.

Edit: Mine is 2048, is that good enough?

[1 Points] ISEEYOUBIGBROTHER:

Common sense goes a long way people..fuck I didn't even think people would really do this..all the idiots are going to ruin this for themselves.

Alternately get a tor email address and use that for pgp

This should be part of a basic IQ check to not have your order cancelled it's sad it needs to be a PSA
