Matching bitcoin address with real life identity?

Is it possible to do this? If I send bitcoins to someone, and I don't tumble, they have a straight path back to the address I bought the coins with. Let's say I connected my bank account to realcoins.net (not real) and bought the coins there. Now they have that bitcoin address I used. Is it possible for them to identify me since all they have is an address? Would they have to call up realcoins.net in order to get the info from them? (unless they were LE, I don't see them complying)

if the company cooperates without requiring a warrant then yes. just buy coins off of locabitcoins using a cash deposit at a bank, you wont need an id except with a few exceptions

yes. LE would need to subpoena realcoins.net. Your bitcoins came from a random address in realcoins' tumbler that isnt your deposit address there.

Also, you could say it wasnt a withdrawal from realcoins.net. You SOLD that bitcoin to somebody who THEN bought weed with it.

Remember:- LE are looking for DIRTY (ie earned by selling drugs) bitcoin to catch vendors. They dont care about your bit of ganja paid for with legally bought bitcoin.
