[Inquiry] Shipping to PO Box vs. House/Apartment

I visited other related post, but after I was scrambling around to put an order in this morning, I noticed some vendors note that they will NOT ship to a PO box. I read on a profile that they have only had shipping issues with PO boxes and it just bothered me and I was very curious. Is this just dependant upon the vendor's choice? Why might vendor not want to send to PO boxes? Prior experience? (Hearing from a vendor would be nice)

I have a PO box and I rent an apartment, I have no issues with shipping to either but obviously I send everything to the box, especially with a larger order.

Why might vendor not want to send to PO boxes?

Harder to claim that your neighbor took it when they don't send anything.

One of the major reasons I can think perhaps the packaging they use will be far too large for the PO box on bulkier orders.

You should message a vendor to find out, as I'm not sure anyone other than the vendors who this are certain on why this is.

I have a PO box and have never had an issue, for whatever that matters.

Find a better vendor.

Been using my apartments for years now, never been burned.

Just write "Unit x" instead of "PO Box x" on the shipping info to the vendor. It'll still be put in your PO box. I've done this with fedex and UPS packages (clearnet) even though they "don't deliver to PO Boxes".

I get packs often at my Po box no issues yet

I've ran into this issue once. I simply went to his competition. I see no reason to discriminate against those with PO boxes.

Honestly I feel any increased risk falls on the customer, and even then is quite negligible. Perhaps it speaks to the product we sell or how its packed up. But we have no issue shipping to a PO Box..
