I understand many of us will never come to terms with it being okay for the Feds to ever bust a drug dealer. In some sense though, they have only gone after pretty damn big vendors. Do we know of any vendors getting busted for selling weed and or edibles or other relatively benign items.
I can not help but ponder the notion that people like XanaxKing and CaliGirl are a threat to the greater good of society and vast amount of resources should be focused on certain people.
I will stop short of trying to determine just where exactly the proverbial line should be drawn, but there seems there should be some forces in this world that should draw lines, and when crossed, the mallet comes down. No different than arresting a drunk driver for putting other peoples lives in danger.
BigPharma is no angel either. And do pose quite a threat to society. But blackmarket dealers selling extremely powerful drugs and chemicals to anyone who is willing to pay is just way too easy and people will harm themselves when there is such easy access.
I am all for reforming drug laws, and putting in place sensible policies that focus on harm reduction, but for now, the arrests of Xanaxking and Caligirl did remove certain threats to society. I will call this action by the govt a true attempt at harm reduction and no conspiracy.
It would not bother me if pill, heroin, meth dealers are always looking over their shoulder shitting their pants.
I do believe in a libertarian philosophy but unfortunately the rest of the world does not agree or operate based on my beliefs, so for now we must acknowledge and accept this country is ran by liberals and conservatives. Not libertarians.
How would you feel if you bought a bag of weed that looked, smelled tasted amazing, got you high as a kite, but contained high quantities of very toxic pesticides. Wouldnt you hate the person who was willing to sell a toxic product to you and then perhaps wish something equally or worse happens back to them..
The rational voice in me says, some people should be including some drug dealers should damn near be locked up and the key thrown away.
Why hasnt the free market attempted to implement harm reduction policies such as quality control/testing of products to ensure there is no Meth in your Extacy Pills and that the MDMA is pure.
How do the LSD avenger test products, is it sent to a lab?
Should you not be required to get a script before taking xanax.
Perhaps I have this all backwards and the Fed is somehow still the root cause and creating the opposite affect of harm reduction.
If you have any thoughts or opinions please share them.
I'm confused as to why you appear to be placing all the responsibility onto the vendors. Drug dealers wouldn't exist without buyers; if there was no desire for a product no one would bother selling it. That's how supply and demand works.
I'm a pharma opiate addict. And you know whose fault that is? Mine. Like the majority of users/addicts, no one forced me to take those drugs the first time, no one forced me to continue taking them. I have had people take advantage of my vulnerability in the past (and you can make of that what you will) but to some extent, that's still my own fault because I am the person who chose to swallow those pills. Every. Single. Time. No one's ever come hunted me down and been all "hey, take these" I have always gone looking for them.
Addiction has almost ruined my life but I don't blame the people who sold me the drugs, that's on me. A lack of personal responsibility is partly why this world is so fucked up.
