Why does Alphabay only accept deposits of at least .01?

I'm sorry but this is kinda irritating. I mean I was 2 dollars short for something. Sorry that $2 is less than .01 but thats how BTC is. Now I've wasted $2 and I have to spend $4 more dollars to be able to send the minimum? I saw that it said 3 confirmations and it would be deposited so I am here sitting looking at 6 confirmations and confused why I didn't get my money, and then I see it says the minimum is .01, and I also wasted a bunch of time for nothing.

I understand that $2, $4, are small amounts, but this is what is annoying about btc sometimes. Every place has a different rate. I buy the coins at a higher price than the market rates, so I have to spend more money to get the dollar amount I need. Not everyone has a fortune to spend on these markets.

you may as well wait until the price of bitcoin fluctuates and you won't be short 2 bucks.

The reason is because of dust transaction. We had many attacks where people were sending 0.00001 BTC to clog things up, then withdrawing. With this new rule, people can technically still do this, but the funds will be lost, so it won't be a free attack anymore.

Anyway, we put protections in place for that, but it's there to discourage dusting. If you were really $2 short, you can always open a ticket, we sometimes credit the small amount anyway when it's done in good faith.
