There's an option to make an order right on the order page, using the vendor's automatic-PGP encryption. Does anyone use that, or do y'all make a completely separate PGP encryption to make orders ?

never use that. always encrypt the messages yourself. also never use any other online service which offers to encrypt messages for you.
simply follow the /r/darknetmarketsnoobs/wiki/bible/buyer . it takes less than 5 minutes and you be safe in the worst case (for example the market is controlled by LE, saves logs or whatever, see Hansa for referrence).

How do you know the market is not including their public gpg to the script that encrypts with your gpg and their gpg? How do you think Hansa vendors and buyers got their info compromised after the hijacking? LE included their gpg to the script and were able to decrypt it.
it's always best to encrypt yourself for three reasons:

I would advise you NOT to use Dream Market because LE might have taken it over due to recent bust on one of the DM Moderators.
Use CGMC or Aero for now, try OB 2.0 if you can.

I only use the pgp for the vendor on Grams, not the one on their market profile.

You ALWAYS DO YOU OWN GODDAMN ENCRYPTION. don't EVER TYPE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IN THE BROWSER. you PASTE THE ENCRYPTED TEXT IN
Me and all my 1000 friends on facebook use the auto encrypt
