Probs a noob question.

I have been buying off of the dark web for a while now, but I heard this nasty rumor about the FBI being able to hack onto tor now!! Does anyone know if there is any truth to this and if it is still safe to buy off of tor?

follow the guides on the sidebar of /r/darknetmarketsnoobs and use tails. that way you make it much harder for any law enforcement agency to catch you. never expect law enforcement, especially the FBI, to play along the rules. just because they recently got some more permission it does not mean that they did what they wanted anyway previously. like the mindset: 'why should we play fair if they break the law as much as they like?'

Sure. I predict the next takedown won't be for a while.

They can trace your IP using an exploit but they are not revealing what the exploit is. It is currently being challenged in courts. Look into the Playpen cases if you want more info.

make sure you are accessing the internet with a method that isn't tied to your identity and a machine that isn't tied to your identity. winning. for example, tails and a hacked comcast acct on public wifi. that's just one method of MANY. a lot of OPSEC is figuring out what works best for YOUR situtaion. everybodys is different.

Edit here but Remember Silk Road 2.0 They deanonymized from a browser exploit. They got it from a research team they funded st Carnegie Mellon. Took a bunch of vendors down. Same shit? It's ironic how the FBI can hack 8,000 computers domestic and internationally without a warrant in the Playoen case but all we hear is the propaganda about Russia and the DNC leaks. Manufactured consent
