Hello community,
I am from Germany and just read through all the latest news and forums regarding the Postal Strike. As you surely have realized it officially ended on Monday night and they found an agreement. According to the Deutsche Post boss Appel letters are now only delayed a day and packages half a day as they have to deliver the stuff which remained at the storage for the past few weeks.
Nevertheless this seems to be completely different regarding one's area. During the Postal Strike I got 1 day delay on average for all my dnm and amazon products. Now I'm waiting for some domestic stuff for over a week, and that's from well known vendors I already did business with (also during strike). I also read through some German forums (Spiegel, welt, rtl etc.) and many people are still experiencing extreme delays. One did buy a new smartphone and the DHL hotline told him, it may still take several weeks, depending on where the package is stuck/stored.
Just wanted to say, after screening German internet that many people (including me and my area wasn't affected that much) are experiencing extreme delays. Don't buy into the propaganda by the management saying everything is back to normal. It obviously isn't. Extremely depends. You may receive after one day but that's still just rolling the dice.
If you're from abroad and wanna have quick delivery I would stay away from German orders for at least another 3 weeks.
tl;dr German post is still experiencing extreme delays even so strike has finished and management tells something else. 1 week waiting time domentic is still no exception.
Cheers, Zak.
Another update:
I just received my domestic order made on Agora on Thursday. The domestic orders from Tuesday und last Saturday havn't arrived yet in contrast. It seems to be really random. The order from Saturday was from a vendor who is normally one day domestic and delivered within 2 days during strike. Now strike is over and it's been over a week. Thanks, DHL.
