Safes and Warrants - US Law

As my durgz collection slowly expands, I have half a mind to invest in a safe. Nothing too fancy, just something that would specifically require a police warrant to access. So if caups get a warrant for my place, they would need a warrant to access my safe because it's locked.

My question is, does it work like this? If the police had a warrant to, let's say, my home property, would they also need a warrant if they wanted to open up my safe and look inside? Being born and raised in the US says yes.

pretty sure if they have a warrant then they can look in it

Attorney at law, here. It depends on the scope of the warrant.

I am fairly certain a warrant means they can search EavERYTHING inside your home.

If they have a warrant its for everything in your place. They can't force you to open anything. But if they can't do it on the premises they'll take it with them and do it later.

Take this for what you will but a professional dealer I've worked with always locks his stuff in a safe. He told me LEO would need a separate warrant for the safe. More likely than not though they would stake out your safe while they get a judge to issue a warrant. If anything it delays the inevitable.

Get a safe, and make a small area in your yard that has a small door (the kind at just lay open) and make an area of your yard a stash spot for your safe. Or find a nice way to hide it in a wall that isn't obvious. If they find it, it will be opened. If they had enough to get in your house to search (warrant), your safe will not stop them. But safes are a great place to keep your substances to minimize risk while people are over/children! I have a safe just so it gives me peace of mind when i leave the house. :) I recommend one that is atleast $100. The 20-40$ ones at walmart can be opened with two paperclips, or the curved hook end of a medium pair of nail clippers.

Don't buy this exact one, it's low quality, but fabricate something along these lines for yourself.

The safe NEEDS to be on the warrant in the United States, but cops aren't stupid. If they have a warrant to search your house most of the time guidelines to search the safe are on the warrant, as most drug dealers worth getting raided for have safes.
