Questionable Proof?

What can be considered proof around here? When it comes to screenshots, can we just assume that they're all fakes from now on? According to these two post, https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/53iq32/former_mod_and_current_mod_of_rdanknation_is_a/, https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/53noc8/alphabay_stole_my_money_proof_inside/ , yes we can. So now all post with screenshots as their only proof will have to be flaired NP? So what else can we use as proof when we need to prove to the community that we're being ass raped by either a vendor or market? Will the people doing the "fucking" have to come out and admit it?

One of the authors of mentioned post wrote,

A screenshot of a browser window is proof of absolutely nothing. Real proof has to come from an authoritative source.

What in the fuck is an authoritive source around here?? Who has this authority to say what is proof and what is not?

Any examples of real proof would be appreciated. It would help everyone know what they need to bring to the table in case they wish to alert the rest of us of danger, scams, or tom-fuckery, but wish to be taken seriously.

Omg I'm a fucking idiot. Every time I saw a "Vendor Complaint NP" I thought it ment "no problem". I now know it means "no proof"

[2 Points] Morvu:

i am.

tell me where im wrong.

serious edit: actually people do mistakes, only thing you have to do is to ask for anything possible...they will make excuses/mistakes, and than you know its fake...otherwise...facing someone knowing what hes doing...your all lost xD

No you can't use screenshot they can be edited.... https://imgur.com/kzMNUvL

I like to use this one as an example because if you look my name is spelled incorrectly can you tell it's a fake?

What is this?

[2 Points] Theeconomist1:

We've debated this a lot over the years. What is proof? Fuck. It's hard to determine. So we have a very simple litmus test - it's no proof if nothing is provided. If something is provided, the no proof label is removed. It's up to the community to validate and verify the proof. I think it's dangerous to make us more decide what is real and what is fake. So we don't do that. We let you guys decide. The lack of "no proof" flair isn't validation from us. It means SOMETHING was provided. Anything can be faked. The community can decide what is legit.

Does that make sense?

[2 Points] spyderonthewall:

I'm guessing the only thing close to proof would have to be long term proven dnm Redditors that have a good track record around here have to be the one to warn people. New accounts and individuals with track records of being scammers obviously will be ignored or flared to all hi hell.

Well chat logs are completely useless. I have to agree with them there. Whether any specific case is true, it can be faked easily.

[1 Points] KingDigital:

Thank you for saying this! I just posted a scammer alert and it got flagged with NP as well. I included a SS of the order I placed but outside of that, what exactly could I possibly post as authentic "proof"?

This seems to be a problem that needs to start with the markets allowing people the rights to dispute transactions even after AF. Maybe not returning the money. But after X amount of disputes AFTER AF they should start banning vendors..

[1 Points] bobbiggs69:

That's what I was thinking. Someone posts a screen shot then the NP flair should at least be removed and people can make up their own mind. I think the NP flair was intended to alert people to someone making wild accusations. At least if they have screenshots, you know they put a little effort into if they are a fake. Regardless of the NP flag, you'll still have a string of people saying they're full of shit so it's redundant at that point.

Best thing I can think of:

Take screenshots, take video recording of screenshots with physical camera of screenshots, refresh page, show screenshots again.

Refreshing a page deletes changes made by inspect element. Recording a screen is notoriously fickle. Screen recordings can be faked very easily, but actual video recording would be much more difficult. Of course, the camera would probably need to be hand-held (a tripod is easier to fake since the camera doesn't move).

Nobody is going to do it, though, because nobody wants to upload a video of them talking about buying drugs.

A trend toward more PGP signing of messages with timestamps would be a good start.

Pretty sure there's a website out there you can use to take a snapshot of any website. It is an unbiased 3rd party that can be used as proof in certain circumstances
