[OPSEC/Computer] iGolder down/seized

when I open igolder in tor or on my normal internet connection it gives me a security warning about the site being risky to use... is the site down, is someone trying to fish, covert LE operation or what could be going on? this raises concerns about the security of encrypting sensitive information

Thank God!

igolder is not secure and was never a secure way to encrypt your messages with PGP.

They could easily save all of your unencrypted messages, private keys and passwords.

Please download and use gpg4usb instead:

Looks like their security certificate expired:

The certificate expired on 03/07/2015 12:16 PM. The current time is 03/07/2015 12:42 PM.

I hope they never renew it.

They were supposedly going out of business. (For over a year now.)

For starters, iGolder is not down/seized as I have just tried the link. Nobody is trying to 'fish' what is going on as PGP is a widely used form of encryption that is not just used for encrypting sensitive information when making DNM purchases. Lastly, if you are even using the service to encrypt your sensitive information then you need to review your OPSEC.

Good. I don't understand why anyone was using it anyway. Are people really just that lazy? Gpg is just as easy as igolder and doesn't keep your info. With gpg only you have access to the private keys.

People need to stop looking for shortcuts in life and man the fuck up.

www.igolder.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 07/03/15 12:16.
