Do customs agents only care about Federal laws or do they consider state laws?

Example. I Want to import bulk quantities of Etizolam into the country. Etizolam isn't federally scheduled. Do customs only worry about federal laws or do they consider the local destination state as well?

I'm pretty sure they'd consider the destination laws too. I think a lot of drug laws aren't federal level but state. I could be wrong, but I think it's always better to be err on the side of safety.

US Customs workers can do whatever they want, just like most any other country's customs.

I mean if you order a shirt and they literally don't like the color, they can confiscate it from you.

Most people are anti-drug, so that means if they find drugs in your package, there is a chance they will take it. Doesn't even really matter if the drug is even scheduled, like etizolam, they can still take it if they feel like it.

But, consider the fact that a lot of stuff passes through US customs every day. Also consider that US customs agents are also USA citizens and even if they think your package has drugs, most customs agents won't take it because they believe that every fellow American should have a large amount of freedom.

Same with postal workers, they know a lot of packs have drugs, but they don't really care because it's rude to treat other citizens badly. Most Americans respect other Americans, and so they will just do their job and assume you are being safe and not ordering anything evil. And if you are not ordering anything evil, then you don't really have to worry about anything anyway IMO.

Dude let the kids taking the bar in a few weeks study instead of ponder over this. Also, they don't get to do the testing, the FDA does.

This is the sort of thing the Patriot act was made to address. It improves communication and transparency between the different levels and branches of government.

Sooo they might throw it away, or they might give your local Pd a call. Depends on the discretion of the agent that finds it and how much paperwork they feel like doing.
