Are bitcoin debit cards a good way to withdraw money from BTC to fiat?

There are several sites like Wirex (was ECOIN) here: https://www.e-coin.io/bitcoin-debit-card-fees-and-limits

They offer 1000 usd before requiring ID, but places like localbitcoins also require ID if you are selling BTC. If you are wanting to get a large amount of BTC in to fiat then this seems like the easier, non-hassle option right? You get charged a little bit per transaction, don't have to meet with anyone face-to-face IRL, and you can essentially withdraw as much as you like without LE knowing a thing.

The only downside is seemingly having to give ID and proof of address. I don't know how you can avoid this though.

Thoughts?

I've looked into it in the past, but usually the fees (some are 'hidden') are exorbitant. I'd love to find an option without crazy high fees.
