I always read here that the mailman knows everyone who lives at your place. I dont really think thats true. When you factor how many houses the he visits per day and multiple that by possibly 3 for how many people live receive mail there. Also add how many variables come into play such as children and teens receiving mail, family members mail, rent, moving, roomates, family visits, friends receiving packs somewhere else because they work etc. Bringing me to the point if buying bulk is it better to use a different name since the mailman wouldnt really notice and just checks the adress??? thoughts?

It depends on place youre living. I'm positive village mailman knows everybody, but I doubt that in big city where people move in/out frequently.

Use your real name.

Use your real name.

I've considered using a different first name and the same last so it looks like a relative staying with me but that might not be a great idea still. If you got caught I doubt something like that would be of any legal benefit.

Fake name won't work, tried it in high school years ago and it failed.

Depends on your country. Im sure in the USPS they have a list of addresses and who lives there, that's how MyUSPS works. You can probably get away with using a children's name or something.

What most mean by fake name increases the chances of getting caught is if you use a name that has nobody has ever heard of. For example if you are in Sweden, live in a prominently local neighborhood and use a name like Pedro then it is going to raise flags.

It's not the mailman. It's the post office. A post office knows which mail goes where and to who. If you're getting a lot of mail for a fake name that doesn't live there then that's how investigations can start.
