Moral Predicament!

So i made an order with a vendor about a little over a week ago and the order was never marked shipped. i messaged the vendor multiple times with no response. Eventually i decided to cancel the order and order from someone else. A little while after, the vendor messaged saying he shipped my order a couple days ago but i didn't know because he never marked it shipped. The vendor is pretty big and my 150$ order is just a drop in the bucket to him but i do feel kinda bad about it. However, i did make an order with someone else and my coins are in escrow so i can't get them back yet. What should i do?

It is not your fault a vendor cant vend.

In that case I think it's okay - just maybe place an order with him in the future to at least make somewhat up for it.

That's at least what I would do.

Nothing, its the vendors fault not yours

He should take the loss and he made three mistakes, the first was not replying or even checking your PM's to him, the second was not marking the order as dispatched or even checking the order (he would see it was canceled), and the third was shipping so late (over a week) so he ended up causing the situation.

Overall he is in the wrong, sad that anybody loses out, but its a outcome of his actions and not yours.

Place another order with him later and ask him to make it a custom listing. You could see what his re ship and refund policy is and pay what ever he would have offered you. If your parcel didn't make it.

Politely tell him he made you nervous because he took so long to mark the item as shipped, and that you felt canceling the order was the most reasonable step.

You can link him to this thread too, if you want, so that he can see that you're legit (implying that you're using a throwaway account).

For once, I don't know or have an opinion.

You can only cancel an order up to the point where the vendor clicks "confirmed".

Was the marketplace suffering from technical issues or down-time after your order was placed i.e was it on Agora? Because during all that, I was right clicking every order and selecting "open in a new tab" so I could at least get the address details during the 2-minute window when the site was accessible.

After addressing the envelopes and trying to click "confirmed", it was back to the page timeouts. One customer managed to log in and place an order on the Friday morning, so should have received his order Saturday morning. I couldn't even login to see his order until Monday morning.

Kep it to yourself and consider it a gift if you don't plan to use the vendor again. If you do, tell him. If he's sensible, he will tell you to keep it. Consider it as a gift for your honesty.

If he was to charge you extra with your next order, it is a disincentive to ordering from him again when you are the kind of honest customer he should be trying to keep.

People avoid you when they owe you money.

Vendor took over a week to ship? (If they didnt mark as shipped, they didnt ship in my book) Thats...not cool at all. Any reasonable person would have cancelled the order.

Screw him.

With SR1 you could transfer coin to other users and you could have just sent it back. However, I don't think any of the current markets allow this. Did the vendor notice that you cancelled when he sent the message that he sent it?

if/when it arrives youve gotta find those coins and pay the man, simple
