Weapons and /r/darknetmarkets

So I was just checking out the weekly deal thread for the first time. I have never read that thread - yes, living under a rock. So anyhow, I noticed the last category had no replies at all. It is the weapons category.

I'm not sure if I was supposed to discuss this in that thread so if this does not belong on the main sub can the moderators please tell me where to put it and I'll repost.

Don't you all think that we would have almost 100% consensus even among the bitter enemies of the pro and anti carder/fraud factions that weapons should no longer have a place on this sub? The heat that weapons discussion and acceptance could draw on us is no longer just a philosophical issue IMO. I have never actually had a problem with weapons personally and was pretty friendly with the BMR crew that used to hawk the stuff - those guys were cool but they have long been out of the game since the Utopia busts. The vendors still dealing in weapons are likely ALL LE these days. Regardless, it is such a hot button issue with world events that I think it is about as acceptable to our cause as CP. Can we discuss riding this sub of any commerce related activity in the weapons front? Are there even any markets we trust as legit that still offer weapons?

One of my bigger concerns as it related to this sub is drawing unnecessary heat. Either from Reddit or LE. I think this is a worthy discussion. I'm curious what the community thinks about this. I'm a believer in our DNM movement, but I'm also pragmatic when needed. This is something I hadn't thought about in a long time. To be clear, I love guns and have no problems with guns, in a larger philosophical sense. But, as it pertains to the DNMs, the two issues you are illuminating with the weapons category are:

Is that an accurate summation? And like /u/samwhiskey asked, do you mean firearms or all weapons?

[4 Points] throwaxanny:

Someone please tell me they saw somebody ever post about selling guns here on this sub haha. That section has been blank for like 6 months.

[3 Points] samwhiskey:

Are you talking about all weapons or just firearms?

[2 Points] MoXyMANE:

Get rid of all weapons to be safe.

[2 Points] notrecane:

It's a lot of heat and a lot bad publicity for what is a tiny proportion of demand and sales. Seems disproportionate and unwise.

I like guns, I own guns and I'll never give em up. For anything. That being said, I don't see any purpose for them here. This account is new but I've been lurking for a year and all I've ever seen about guns here is scams and le. Nobody wants scams and le. Thank god I live in America where guns are legal but I imagine in other countries there is a way to get them. They really have no relevance here. I'm not for banning anything. If you don't want something, don't do it. That weapons category is always empty so who cares? Automod is the only one that doesn't know it's a waste of time.

No matter what, people are still going to bring up all those Hidden Wiki scam sites, as if they're legit. Like "The Armory" or "Executive Outcomes" and "UK Guns and Ammo" or whatever. I still see them being brought up in mainstream news outlets.

[1 Points] DOOT_DOOT_:

I've never even seen a weapons listing on here anyway. If a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound?

[1 Points] brightBlinker:

I agree, weapons as well as counterfiet currency attracts significant attention from FBI, ATF, etc.

It's of much more concern than DEA/drug shit. They are SERIOUS about weapons as well as currency.

I'm close with people in the intelligence business and I personally would vote to remove that section from regular discussions/postings.

guns and people work fine , but when guns start to be sold alongside drugs ? that's something that will cause heat if journalists decided to write a nice article about it .

What is this?

Nucleus just removed their weapons category.

I think this was a great move.

[0 Points] Tripple_T:

I'm honestly against you guys doing away with the weapons section but I'm also tired of fighting the weak ass liberal arguments against it. That being said, there is one argument for doing away with it that I don't have an answer for: whether or not there is a demand for these things on here, nobody had made known of any verified supply.

I don't know, just pull the trigger on it already. Do away with it. This discussion keeps coming up and I'm getting tired of seeing it.

Don't see anything wrong. If you don't like it just don't look at it.

I agree.

Almost anyone in the states can simply go to a gun show and walk out with one if you have cash and ID. No background check... If youre of legal age, and you have the cash...you can walk out with pretty much anything

I'm guessing a lot of the people that want to buy guns from a market vendor are white high school kids that sell weed or counterfeit Xanax bars and think they need a gun because they're hot shit :rolls eyes:
