Market options for quitting heroin?

I could think of no one better to ask that this collection of people, probably alot of us here have been off the deep end, been thru the ringer to the hell and back that is a bad opiate addiction. Im not asking for myself but actually trying to get Information to help my dad quit his 1/2 gram a day habit hes been working on for a year. He wants to quit and cant even make it thru the night without dosing. So my question for those who have kicked a hard heroin habit ; what substance/ methods did you use? how did it feel? How long did withdrawl take you on your method? How long were you clean for after quitting? Just really looking for options and insights other than quitting cold turkey. For more details my dads in his late 50's and works hard labor everyday. Idk if ibogaine could be an option or if its too dangerous, has anyone ever used it successfully? What market have you seen it sold at? Thanks for your opinion everyone.

I used suboxone. Im still on it actually, been clean for 11 months. Do not buy subs off these markets though unless you want to pay way over price. Have been find a doctor they are very easy to find. Goto Suboxone.com and "find doctor near me" Heroins a bitch and a killer, I have lost 8 very close friends to it since 2010

head over to /r/kratom and ask there. Its a herb, kinda cheap if you don't go to get it from a head shop, that stops WD in its tracks. I used to after being on 150mg a day of mixed narcotics for 8 months straight (massive car accident, 3 others killed). I was on 150mg one day, and kratom the next. No WDs. But if he isnt serious about quitting..NOTHING will help him.

Post there, we can point you to vendors and such.

Ibogaine worked for me. It wasn't fun though.

I "quit" for 3 years solid with buprenorphine therapy. I started at 24mg a day and went down to 3mg a day. It was honestly the easiest thing in the world. Besides the initial period waiting for the Heroin to leave the body before taking the Buprenorphine. There were no cravings and no sickness. It is strictly a mental game after the first few weeks and comes down to whether you want to be sober or not. I would suggest finding a subutex/suboxone doctor in your area and get started.

Shit, I figure you go ahead and send me all of the money that he'd be spending on H and you'll be good to go! Call it 'deprivation therapy' or something, whatever you want. No money for drugs means no drugs!!!

OR, go ahead and get him a supply of suboxone. Make sure he's well into withdrawal (24-48 hours) before he doses so as not to put him into precipitated withdrawals. Make sure he knows that you're there for him, because he's probably going to be feeling pretty low while he adjusts. Write up a slowly declining schedule to drop that dosage as near to zero as possible.

Better YET, get him into a detox facility (depending on your state this can be paid for by the state). He would probably be in for about 7 days and get some good therapy out of it, and then he can get on a legitimate program via a real doctor doing that shit professionally. That would possibly be cheaper than having to source subs online illicitly (I can't remember what my copays were with my insurance, though). Maybe the detox isn't possible for him due to obligations and such, but that's the route I would go if I were him.

I've successfully quit with Suboxone. It can work magic if you taper right. I didn't experience any withdrawal when I finally quit completely. I was clean for about two years and had a one night relapse. Since then, I've been clean for almost a year.

Have him go to a real Dr. and get a subscription. If he has insurance, they will pay for it. If not, it'll still be way cheaper than the markets at $20 a strip.

Subs are good for energy. They will be the only thing that will help a guy working hard labor. They put a spring in your step.

If you'd like more info, hit me up.

Shit everyone is saying Kratom benzos and subs. But if you don't have acces to this . Try gabapentin , clonidine maybe poppy seed tea? Lope or immodium help with withdrawals significantly.

Isn't LSD good for kicking drug-addiction, as circular of a reasoning as that may sound?

Here's what's helped in my experience, but this is just surviving acute withdrawal not actually getting clean - PAWS is what makes heroin a bitch to get off of. Anyway:

Weed and benzos are probably the best non opiate solution to feel ok for those 3-5 days

Kratom, a weaker opiate (taking ER pain meds at a low dose is a decent way to taper down), suboxone, or methadone. Methadone is the last resort, though. I'm really considering getting on sub maintenance as of late.

OTC: immodium (loperamide) and DXM are pretty good together, and there's plenty more available with a google search.

If you go on r/opiates there's a very helpful withdrawal survival guide on the side bar that goes over all of this in detail.

Subutext alone for long term, cannabis, benzo, subutext for the first 3-4 days. I'd say Suboxone but Suboxone stopped working for me after a while and subutext really has saved my life.

I was on pills then was on methadone for two years (absolute hell getting off), got on heroin with a gram a day habit for almost a year. I had to just get off cold turkey. I don't want to be hooked on subs or methadone -- though they can be very helpful. I'm not saying not go that route, I just personally had to do it cold turkey. 3 days of hell, then things got a little better. Been clean for over a month now.

I have never been addicted or used opiates, but i geuss maybe making him taking less slowly till he quits using. im pretty sure there a few drugs that lower the withdrawal symptoms, idk them but you can prob google it
