So I order my first international k-pack of bars, CAN to US, it was shipped on a Monday, went through customs and arrived at a random NY PO the next day. On Wednesday it lands at my USPS Destination facility which is a 50 minute drive from my drop. Typcially from this point it's at my local PO and out for delivery the next day 75% of the time, 25% it will be out for delivery 2 days from that processing plant. So, I was expecting Thursday, maybe Friday for the drop. Well, Thurs, Fri, Sat all go by, still no package. Finally the 26th my tracking updates and my package was sent from my destination facility (50 minutes from drop) to a random US facility in Minnesota. This shit had me confused and thinking maybe they're returning it back up north or they're just fucking with me. 3 days later and tracking shows it's back at desination facility which means I'll typically have it in a day or two. Only OPSEC fuck up I have/had was checking the tracking 2-3 times a day from my home wifi, been reading up on this now. The order is going to auto-finalize in 2 days and some hours, here I am still no pack. It's a tried and true vendor that I wouldn't hesitate to FE with anyway so that's no major concern. If all these fuck-ups didn't happen, I'd have had the package already on last Thursday, today is the following Thursday, 10 days after being shipping.
My questions are:
Is it normal for packages to get thrown on a wrong truck or somehow get rerouted from the Destination Facility like this?
Why would they send the package 14 hours West of me when it was literally an hour away at a sort facility, then send it 14 hours back East to the same place?
It made it through NY customs and was being sent around to sort facilities. Customs is the riskiest part, where the most scrutinization of packages occurs, correct?
As I've stated, the package looks like it's back in re-route to my drop. Should I expect the package as if it just took a small detour thanks to a USPS fuck up? Or should I be more cautious and not sign for if asked, not open the pack for a few hours-days?
Also forgot to mention. If you google the zipcode of the MN address it was sent to, there are three USPS facilites located there. One stood out from the others named 'US Postal Service: Office of Inspector General'. Not trying to 'noid myself out or anything, but this is my first international pack. It's like my first time anal, the virginity's been lost and paranoia isn't as much of concern anymore as it was in the beginning, until this. Should I have any worries?
Thanks in advance!
I skimmed your experience . I had my order shipped either 21-23 made it was process through customs almost instantly then took an extra weird route that none of my packs ever took , Also it was more than.1 pack and the time stamps were almost identical . none the less they showed up
