[CommunityDiscussion] Ross Ulbricht Appeal

Im not super familar with the US leagal system but im guessing that Ross will be appealing the decision. Could this theory be possible... As stated by numerous articles in the last few weeks its strange that the defense didn't go harder for the forth amendment by claiming he owned the servers. Now that he has been proven guilty in the appeal process could they use that ruling as proof that he did own the servers and his privacy was violated?

It's a bit late for that. Getting an appellate court to hear your appeal, let alone throw out your conviction, is insanely hard. If the plan was to claim the servers, he would have done that in the first place.

My guess is: Ross told his lawyer that he didn't own the server, so the lawyer didn't pursue the theory. The guy is still lying to his parents about Silk Road. It seems like he thinks he's smarter than everyone else.
