Buying bitcoins with your bank account, not that safe perhaps.

Hi, i've wondered this thing, If i have a personal bank account and buy coins for example from coinbase, when i do deposit on coinbase my bank account knows that, and sad thing they know my name and address, so even with no money trail after coinbase, they have my address and LE could run a check on it, plus, if i get found with drugs in the mail i can have a totally clean house, but they can check my bank account and see i've transfered money to coinbase, that doesn't proof anything maybe but it's info that could be used to build a case against you isn't it? Thats the reason i think a drop is safer if you buy btc with your own bank account, doesn't tie your address to btc exchanges

It's not illegal to buy bitcoin. LE are not going to run a check on you for buying bitcoin.

Do you realize how paranoid that sounds? If you get caught with drugs in the mail and have a clean house... they're going to leave you alone (obviously deny any knowledge). That's how this works.

LE don't build cases for buyers. You either get caught or you get away with it. You wanna know why? Cos everything costs money. Every single officer required to search and control your premises gets paid. And if they don't make an arrest it was all a huge waste of time for them.

You're entirely focused on a really small picture. Zoom that lens out a little bit and look at the bigger picture.

In every country LE has rules they have to follow. I don't know the rules about subpoena'ing bank account statements, but on a guess they need evidence it was used in a crime, and the court fees for LE would probably be pretty huge. I really doubt anyone other than the IRS ever looks at other people's bank accounts.

Why would LE care that you transferred money to coinbase? WTF?
