Hey /r/DarkNetMarkets , it is time for Moronic Monday!

Post your question - stupid or otherwise - here to get an answer. Anyone can post a question and the community as a whole is invited and encouraged to provide an answer. Many questions get submitted late each week that don't get a lot of action, so if your question didn't get answered before, feel free to post it again.

We do ask that you refrain from abusing noobs in this thread. Remember that everyone had to start somewhere.

P.S. Check out /r/DarkNetMarketsNoobs, where it is Moronic Monday everyday!

As a buyer... does anyone make a new DNM account for every transaction? Or a new one every month or something?

I understand the benefits of having a purchase history for sellers to look at, but the positives of that may outweigh not having your entire purchase history linked to you if something were to happen.

What happens if LE takes ownership of a popular vendors account and pgp passphrase? When they see the orders and decrypt the addresses, what would they do exactly? Can they do anything? I've always wondered about this

[2 Points] MontePylon:

If I tumble my bitcoins is it necessary, or advised, to hide my initial purchase of the coins? For instance would it be a bad idea to use a credit card or paypal to buy coins online or should I use a cash deposit to buy locally?

[2 Points] flyondawall:

Say a business I'm associated with receives many packages daily addressed to a variety of people, myself included. I get a DNM package sent to the business in my name. Assuming all measures were taken to conceal my order history how could LE prove I intended to receive that package and that another staff member isn't sending illegal items in my name and intercepting the package? I am not at the business at the time of delivery.

Where to get Ketamine in Europe/Germany ?

[2 Points] cactusbutt123:

Is it okay to use the same username and password for different TOR sites?

EDIT: ceteris paribus; PGP, VPN, tails et al all used, and 2-step verification wherever possible.

I am in a tricky situation and I need help. I made a somewhat large order from an international vendor (I am inside US) with a stellar reputation, whose name I will not mention because I don't want to tarnish any reputations if I'm not being scammed. I also fear reprisal from a vendor who has my address and has proof I ordered a lot of whatever. This vendor has 1000+ deals, great feedback, has been on several DNM's.

I specifically asked the vendor and got a message back that no signature was required. Well red flag 1, delivery was a day late according to tracking info. Thank God I was out of town, a signature was required for delivery. My house is not next to my mailbox, so there's no need to bring it to my door unless a signature is required. Anyway, I have a post office notification saying I have to come in and sign for this package. My mailman comes at a regular time every day but this notification says he came very far off from that time. Obviously this says "controlled delivery, do not touch!" to me.

I message the vendor back, explaining the situation. The vendor says the signature was only required because I wasn't home. This doesn't make sense because #1, they wouldn't know/care if I was home if no signature was required, and #2, no signature required should mean no signature required, reguardless of if I'm home or not.

My money is still in escrow. I am NOT going to the post office to sign for this thing. I fear my address is flagged now. What do I do? I don't want to anger a vendor with my address, but I think I am entitled to a refund. If this deal fell through it's because of him, either not good enough stealth (doubtful considering his reputation) or it was sent with a signature required by some accident, which I specifically messaged and ensured that it would NOT be required. I message vendor explaining the situation and vendor says their stealth is top notch and that the post office only wants a signature because I wasn't home (again, this doesn't make sense. Why would they check/care if I'm home if no signature is needed and my mailbox is not next to my house?) Vendor says "should be fine" to go in, show ID, sign for package, etc. No way. "Should be" isn't good enough when big jail time is on the line.

Do I need to clean house? If the vendor offers a reship, I bet my address is flagged (I am not the kind of person to send this to anyone else and risk their safety) is the next package going to get me in deeper trouble/make trouble with people getting a warrant to search my house?

Bottom line: I'm NOT signing for this thing. I don't want to anger the vendor for fear of reprisals/vendor telling other vendors I'm untrustworthy. My money is still in escrow. I fear a reship will get me in more trouble. Help please. Thank you.

Does anyone else think that Dark Wallet or similar systems could soon end up making dark net markets obsolete?

Why doesn't anyone sell bulk dmt?

[1 Points] shooringle:

So I just withdrew my bitcoins from btcfog to a blockchain wallet (I am going to use Electrum eventually but I am currently unfamiliar with it - my plan is to use leftover btc from this transaction to test out on Electrum) but when I was logged into my blockchain account using Tor, when I clicked the log out button it came up with a screen saying my ip is banned. I shutdown tails and was able to log back in to block chain again but is this a problem? Does it happen often? I thought that Tor always had a different ip address.

Also why has the vendor not signed in again since I messaged him :'( :'(

what tor email service does everyone use?

[1 Points] drknoob:

What is the proper path for the most security & anonymity?

I've read so much, but still uncertain due to conflicting information on what path is best. (Ex: I've read to use whonix/vbox/tails as well as to not combine tails with any vm.)

Is purchasing a laptop with linux, running dm crypt to encrypt the hard drive, and installing tails & tor really the best option?

Or do I need to do something more complex?

Maybe throw in a VPN so my ISP doesn't see i'm connecting to TOR? I could use some assistance in helping me figure out what's best.

Note: My OPSEC and anonymity is of paramount importance to me. I want to go above and beyond the basics. Also I'd like to focus on 'laying the plumbing' so to speak so i'm not too concerned with the next steps like PGP just yet.

Is there someone really experienced in these matters and willing to mentor?

[1 Points] drpnit:

Can anyone describe the process by which LE could trace untumbled bitcoins, and how difficult it would be? For instance, let's say someone has an account at Coinbase, and sends untumbled coins directly to a vendor, who has a bitcoin address registered to him. Could police simply get records from Coinbase and match up the addresses which someone sent coins to a vendor with? Would it be that easy?

[1 Points] drpnit:

Did anyone here buy the Yaystick? Or was that ruled to be total BS?

[1 Points] SgtFaecesProcessor:

What's the deal with Evo? I've never really used it before. Used SR2, eventually started trusting and using Agora and I've heard a lot about Evo. I've had a look around but the amount of feedback left makes it feel so new that I'm not sure how willing I am to trust vendors on it. Or how much feedback makes them trustworthy. What do I need to know about it that's different to SR2 and Agora?

[1 Points] vorter:

Is SR2 safe to use now? I want to use the largest market but I'm worried about when it was hacked.

[1 Points] noobster9000:

As a buyer is it bad to use a fake name if the buyer lives in temporary housing with tons of other people with new people circulating in and out every six weeks. I'm in that situation and we get tons of mail for different people who have come in and out and I was just curious. Normally, I would say this might arouse suspicion, but right now we get mail under probably about 15 different names with only a handful current residents and everyone only here temporarily.

When should I take an issue to agora support? I've never had to do this before. I have never had any problem with this vendor prior.

A bit of background. I placed an order 2 weeks ago (Domestic order, with Xpresspost). I asked about tracking info, vendor says it is provided as necessary, Xpress is 2-3 days. 1 Day later vendor changes status to Confirmed, and sends me a message saying my order will be shipped within 24-48 hours.

I message them 3 days later and ask if it has been shipped yet. They respond the next day that they will have tracking in the night or the AM. No message arrived.

I message the day after asking for the tracking info as it should have arrived by now. No answer. I email them, no answer. I ask the next day again, now they finally reply and say it was shipped and they will check for tracking.

They now change the order to shipped (T+1week). I say thanks, I would appreciate the tracking as all other things from that time had arrived. No answer.

Nor did they 2 days later when I asked again.

The next day I send a paragraph long message to them via email and on the order. Polite however. Saying how I was starting to get worried at the lack of communication and how I felt I was being avoided and not given straight answers. I also said how I had received 3 regular mail envelopes sent at the same time or later, and another Xpresspost. So clearly Canada post was not slow.

This finally gets an answer. They say "It was sent yesterday , maybe expect it by tuesday , sorry for the delay. " Always so short and vague. I say thank, I appreciate them recognizing their mistake and trying to resolve it, but that i didn't like being ignored etc, I understand if you're busy but some recognition is nice. I ask for the tracking, and that they could send it over email if they don't want to over the market. No answer.

The next day I ask,"it was sent Thursday 15th with XpressPost?" and if he minded to share the tracking with me. Again no reply.

I notice that the auto finalize was running down so I added a PS - can you extend the auto finalize? and THIS of all things gets a reply. "Extended." But avoids my questions.

What is the deal with that? Definitely is avoiding the questions and being vague. Plus I needed this asap, hence I I ordered express. Frankly I would have wanted a refund at this point, not a reship. This seems very sketchy. Should I notify Agora support?

Hello guys, and thank you for the opportunity to ask some really stupid questions that are hard to find answers for in guides and step by step manuals :) Please note that all this should be seen in an European context, and ideally, in the context of Danish (Or German, Norwegian or Swedish, I assume they are similar) postal and legal customs.

1) In my research on how this whole thing works, I many times stumbled upon the saying that you should never sign for your package, and that you should wait until the postman drops it off and leaves, ideally waiting a little bit more after that, and even more ideally, not opening the package on the same day, attempting to eliminate the case of a controlled delivery. BUT, is it not the case that the package simply is returned to a central terminal and I get some kind of a note that I have to pick it up? I mean, I will be living in a small dorm-like apartment, and leaving the package at the front door is kinda weird (I think if it is small enough, it could fit into my post-box)

2) Has anyone experienced a controlled delivery (Again, living in Denmark or Germany) and how did it go down/how did you handle it? (I just can't imagine something like that is even a common practice among LE in Denmark)

3) Do I really possess the option of denying responsibility for a package (Of you know what) at my door? Like, assuming I somehow pulled it off to have the package be left at my door/in my inbox, never signed for the shit, is it really possible, when shit hits the fan, to simply say that I have no knowledge of where this box came from or its contents?

I guess this is all for now, GREAT deal of appreciation for anyone with any input whatssoever :)

EDIT: Question 4) When using Tails, it is my understanding that you can simply have it on a bigger USB stick (I know there are some more steps to this thing with keys and what not, but bear with me). Then, you simply boot it in your BIOS, and voilla!, you have yourself an OS based on anonymity. But is it really that simple in terms of having a normal OS (Windows in my case) and simply switching to Tails whenever I perform illegal stuff? Would my PC not be compromised at least in some way? And is it not ideal to have a seperate PC just with Tails?
