Phishing

Sorry if this would belong better in r/darknetmarketsnoobs

I logged into AlphaBay and noticed that they redid the look of the site. I had a message that looked official from '-AlphaBay- Market' telling me to go over to the new url on a faster server because of the DDOS attacks. Like an idiot I open the url provided and put in my login info. When I was prompted for my pin it entered my head that this might be a phishing attempt. I didnt see my personal phrase so I finally decided to check if the url I was at was official, and surprise surprise it was not. I typed in random numbers for my pin and just at that moment the server went down because of DDOS attacks. Shocking. Just wanted to remind everyone to be careful of DDOS attacks and to ask what damage was done. I assume I should create a new account. Thankfully I only have around 2 cents in my market wallet.

Change your password now. Always check for the official URL market on GRAMS.

Stay safe. You're not the only one you alsmot get hit by this shit !

I've gotten that same phishing PM before. If you click the sender, it's just some random level 0 account.

Nobody should ever click a link in a PM saying to go to a new onion. You're already on the site, aren't you? It may be slow, yeah, but that's just TOR. Don't risk it even if it seems like the most legit you've ever seen.

This is so amazing to me. Think about this for a second, please.

Why would the owners of a website PM you to tell you that there's a new URL? They can just put up a banner on the front page.

Secondly, why would they name themselves "-AlphaBay- Market", that's nonsensical.

I ain't trying to hate on you, but anyone who falls for a phishing attempt is a complete idiot.

Did you memorize the link and try to type it out?

[1 Points] shitbricker:

how does this happen? i mean you have to be a mental case to not double check or save the url somwhere? where did you get the link???

You may not be able to log back into your Alphabay account. If that is the case inform Alphabay support.

If you are able to get in change your password and enable 2fa. This wouldn't happen if you had enabled 2fa in the first place.
