It's starting to seem increasingly silly to me that this subreddit is still our central information hub. Anyone else?

I didn't even have to read the updated privacy policy for it to make me realize how dumb it is that we are still using reddit as our central information hub.

Honestly its probably quite unlikely that anything bad will come of being here--especially for modest buyers--but even so it seems irresponsible that for many of us, this is our main or only connection to information about markets, vendors, and everything else involved in this business.

Personally I think this sub should have a .onion sister forum, so that our communications are more secure; secure as far as anonymity, but also secure in the sense that everyone will have secure access to information, which is vital.

It's easy to forget sometimes, but keep in mind that the system we're involved in is extremely volatile and extremely illegal.

What are your thoughts on this? Hell, maybe there's already a forum that I'm not aware of.

theres another website were all at. we just didn't tell you about it

[14 Points] cryptocreepo:

A forum like this at an onion address would not be any more secure, it would just make give a false sense of security and make it harder for the general public to access it.

LE know how to use tor.

It is highly recommended that individuals use an alias, tor and/or vpn to access this subreddit, so they don't accidentally say something that could incriminate themselves.

Average police department and DA's office are going to be scratching their heads trying to making rounding up people for browsing an internet forum a profitable venture. Lots of drug subreddits on here as well but you don't see them getting arrested either, do you?

[3 Points] None:

I stopped posting reviews after that shit went down with Gwern. Now I just come here for the entertainment.

[5 Points] Jay-__:

It's not like LE couldn't scrape an onion-forum much like they probably do it here on clearnet, IMO.

Who said anybody was involved in anything. For the record I am not involved in anything. This is the internet. Is any of it real? Certainly not Reddit...

No hidden service will be as secure and as easily accessible as Reddit. If somebody made an onion-based reddit clone, like ReddiTor (it has been done), then I guess I'd be okay with that. Mobile support would be great, too.

[3 Points] throwaxanny:

Theres the DNM avengers onion, I fuck with that place and the barbs one way more than reddit

I like how you can't even be bothered to read the privacy policy, but still assume it must be something awful. It's pretty much the same as the old privacy policy. It's pretty short. Read it and read the old one. It's still a big popular corporate clearnet site, but Reddit seems more concerned about user privacy than pretty much any other site of its size.

[2 Points] throwitwaywaywayaway:

There used to be a hub like that.

They called it, "The Hub."

[2 Points] fakeid1337:

What is sketchy is that it is in control by Reddit, so they could take it down at any time and 99% of the people who come here would be lost and have no idea where to go.

[1 Points] wonderingzo:

i browse and post on this subreddit only through tor. i'm not really worried..

[1 Points] SesameStMafia:

Didn't you get the memo?

[1 Points] Chetineva:

Seems like it's the best solution. You are your worst enemy on this sub, and are in control of and responsible for everything you say. This way we get a constant stream of newcomers, which increases activity and leads to more competition, accountability, etc. Plus, newbs are also a constant buffer of low-hanging fruit.

[1 Points] coffeencreme:

I'm not worried at all, but then I'm not posting vendor reviews.

I just think you should assume someone in every thread is LE and post accordingly. There's no law against talking about things that go on in the world.

Besides, we're all just researching to write papers, aren't we?

[1 Points] oVerde:

You know, there was always The Hub, it's here to stay.

[1 Points] throwawayk5zq47j6wd3:

THIS. I'm scared just to post reviews anymore incase LE is searching on this sub, unlikely but goddamn the paronia would dissapear on Tor.

Im done with the guatemalan insanity peppers thats for sure. I certainly have no need for the dark net anymore. I just look forward to legal marijuana to help chill out. Or anything else thats needed.

The key thing is that we need to realize that we are the least of the governments concern and the key thing is that the us government loves us and wants us to be happy.

[1 Points] hangbellybroad:

I didn't read every single word in this thread, but some of the TOR comments (you are safe - you are not safe - etc.) reminded me of a thread that was here a year or two ago, some people in California got busted dealing weed. IIRC the cops knew someone was shipping out weed, somehow, it came down to, when the cops checked with ISPs in the area they were looking at, there was only one location (apparently it was a very rural area) that was using TOR. Warrant, boom, busted. The torproject people say that the more people in your area that are using TOR, the safer everyone is. Makes sense. If you are the only one using it, in an area where the cops already know drugs are coming from (probably package profiling or some shit), then it works more like a spotlight shining directly on you. All by itself, tor usage, not a problem, but as part of a larger picture, well - the world is a dangerous place. Personal use buyers, probably really low risk, being a vendor carries much more potential risk, obviously.

[1 Points] 2005C:

Half the people in here are hobbiests, the other half don't give a rip.

[1 Points] JorDanisREAL:

LE probably just sit back and pick out who to go for after reading this sub

[0 Points] throwawayfucking9000:

I still can't believe this actually exists and I'm actually subscribed to it. I always thought you guys would have better methods of communicating. Not complaining though, I really like seeing all your posts

Are you fucking retarded? The privacy policy has not changed in any way that matters for any darknet market user. What specific part of the privacy policy are you concerned about?
