Most new dark net markets that come out are mostly a carbon copy of the original Silk Road formula. Very few dark net markets have unique features. One such example is sorting listings by quantity and price per unit. The original Silk road did not have any kind of quantity attribute to listings. It was up to the seller to list the quantity in the title of the listing. As far as I know, every single dark net market since has been the exact same way in that regard.

In my opinion, the essential features missing from most dark net markets are:

  1. Sort by quantity / sort by unit price. When I'm looking to buy 1 OZ of weed, I don't want to have to wade through a sea of QP and 8th listings.

  2. Show the bitcoin price next to the dollar price. I have no idea how much 0.37183641 BTC is without looking it up. The original Silk Road had the feature where it would show all prices in USD, but then it wouldn't show the BTC price, which came with its own problems. Most idea is to show BOTH values, or at least have an option where you can elect to see both.

  3. A bitpay like interface for making purchases. I don't like how pretty much all dark net markets these days still uses the old Silk Road 'deposit' scheme. What they should do is have a QR code on the checkout screen and the exact amount you need to send. This was customers never have excess balance to get stuck in deposit limbo.

The ideal market would donate parts of the profits to human rights groups, progressive social initiatives, as well as initiatives against police brutality.

We had a case in Germany (of course in the most conservative and shitty state) last year where a cop got away with shooting an unarmed fleeing dealer from behind. Last week that cop sued a commenter on VICE Germany because of a personal attack (something like "antisocial jerk"), and of course prosecution instantly sent out a penalty order and the commenter was fined for 1200 €.

But try to sue a cop. You will probably end up being fined too.

It would be great if several markets would work together in order to support those groups and possibly help change things for us in the long term.

True multisig. Not like the evo multisig. Decentralization would be nice as well. 95%+ uptime, fantastic support, etc.

This question has been asked 1 million times before but I'll bite. Multisig, The interface of Evo and security protocols similar to those of black bank's would be perfect.

A no scammers feature would be brilliant

Also, I made a proposal for a "fancy" redeemable rewards market a while back, that pays out "coupons" to vendors and buyers that are redeemable for $. Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/30mfyp/vendormarketinquiry_creation_of_a_giftrewards/

A standard email interface for Vendors (POP / SMTP). Vendors could then use an email client like Claws or Thunderbird with PGP support so that they wouldn't have to manually encrypt and decrypt hundreds of messages.

This would not be a standard internet connected general purpose email server. It would just handle messages on that market between users and vendors.

IMAP should be avoided because vendors shouldn't leave email on the server, encrypted or not and Claws currently has a major security problem with IMAP:

I be at the market with the best vendors, time after time.

All your wishes will soon manifest themselves.

Only the e-mail/imap/bitmessage interface not yet.

That's noted for the roadmap though.

/u/TheRealDealMarket seems to be doing a good job. Once he completes the non-js market and adds in the auctioning functionality that will be some nice code to get hands on. It's $10k, but I'm sure there are a few vendors with that amount. It's bitwasp on steroids. Their JS hasn't been compromised so I tend to believe them when they say their market is the safest there is. They added XMPP chat, secure wallets, a whole slew of security safeguards etc. They are by far the most knowledgeable coders around it seems. I'll be interested to see what some nifty graphic designer could do to make it look better.

A rewards system, like a subway card. When u reach x amount of legitimate sales or buys, there is a bonus. Maybe something built into the escrow system where a fraction is taken from each sale

Plugin that shows reddit's vendor reviews on vendor page. No-brainer!

It would run and look like Evo...
