CDs: But what if I check my mail at night?

This just occurred to me yesterday. Obviously a little thing like when you check your mail isn't going to foil LE if thet're really determined to get you, but what would happen to an attempted CD if you don't check your mail while they're sitting there watching your mailbox?

All of the scenarios I've seen discussed on here involve LE intercepting the postman, pretending to be him/her, delivering the package, and waiting for you to come out and get it because of course everyone knows exactly when the postman comes by and has nothing better to do than sit around and wait. But what if you're, I don't know, a student who is gone from 9 am to 9 pm and couldn't check your mail right away even if you wanted to? Will the popo just sit there munching on donuts until you get home at 9 or 10 or midnight and have a look in your mailbox?

I read a comment where someone was saying that if you suspect a CD you should leave your mail in the box for a couple days because LE won't knowingly just leave drugs there. Supposing that's true, does anyone else think checking your mail late in the day / at night / a little while after it's delivered would throw a wrench in a CD? At least enough of a wrench to avoid getting handcuffed between your mailbox and front door.

what sort of cd, they want you to sign dont sign, they leave it on your doorstep and wait for you to bring it inside then look at it questioningly, write return to sender on it and leave it on your doorstep for a few days, they jam it in your mailbox then wait to check your mail, they leave a note to pick it up then dont pick it up instead mark the box that says leave it on your doorstep. they want to come arrest you anyways just because then let them. Keep your house clean, dont walk out of the house with a hard on and make sure you wipe the cum off your daughters face before taking her to band practice.

Cops can very easily put a GPS tracker inside your package that tells them when the pkg is moving and when it's been opened.

Doesn't mean they will, but the technology is there and in use. Picking up at night doesn't mean shit if the cops are really interested in bagging you.

On December 31, 2010, personnel from UPS alerted the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (“IMPD”) that they had found marijuana in a package that they were repackaging because the box had been damaged during shipping. IMPD officers from the Criminal Interdiction Unit, a branch of the narcotics division, retrieved the opened package containing marijuana from UPS and found that it was addressed to a “Michael Davis” at the address of the Wingate Hotel near West 71st Street and I-465 in Indianapolis. The package contained three semi-transparent, heat-sealed plastic bags of marijuana.

The officers took the package and its contents back to the police station; re-packaged the marijuana with a GPS device and an electronic parcel wire; and affixed the original shipping label to the outside of the package. When affixed in a closed parcel, a parcel wire transmits “different tones to alert law enforcement officers that the device is working, is moving, and when the parcel is opened.” The parcel wire is tripped when light is let inside the package. The alarm sounds only on the receiver, not on the parcel wire itself.

Of course they likely wouldn't go to these lengths on a small personal amount. Just realize that they don't have to stake out your mailbox for a CD.

They don't stick it in your mailbox and wait. They come knock on your door and try to get you to sign and accept the package.

[3 Points] nsgiad:

Once LE is able to confirm the package is no longer in the box they will knock and/or kick your door down. Now, if your house is clean and they can't find the package then they'll look foolish and you may get away with it, until they can find something else to ruin your day with.

Dealing with LE isn't like a single serving event. You might (MIGHT) be able to fool them once, or maybe twice, but LE do not forget, ever. They are patient and have all the resources they need to ruin you, even if they are not able to convict you, or convict you for what they wanted to originally.

Read about this case involving the mayor of a Maryland town. A 30-pound package of marijuana was sent to his address and intercepted by LE in transit.

The circumstances of this case were that the package was left outside the door of his house. He noticed a bunch of vehicles outside his house and thought nothing of it. But when the package was brought inside, LE raided the house and killed his two dogs.

They were later cleared of wrongdoing, yet the fucking police department says they'd do the same thing all over again. And the PG County police department has become one that is infested with police brutality and corruption problems.

[2 Points] NotGCHQBro:

yes its true LE only work 9-5 and the department doesn't budget for much overtime so theyre basically robots who shut down post 7pm yes

If you are fucked enough to be having a controlled delivery, you are already fucked beyond anything you can do about it.

But, they are rare as hens teeth, especially if you are buying personal amounts.

[1 Points] TigerHall:

If you usually check your mail at night, I would assume they already know your schedule and it won't make a difference.

[1 Points] 1ReviewReviewer1:

As others have said, I wouldn't worry about CD's all that much.

But if it gives you any peace of mind, if you were setup for a CD, and they deliver the package, there is no way they would let that package get out of sight. In other words, unless your under 24/7 surveillance, the package won't be sitting in your box 24/7. LE would never deliver a drug package, yet call it a night because its getting late, only to find out the next day the package is gone.

[1 Points] Beam_:

I'd imagine they'll probably watch you for a small amount of time to see what you're up to before they make the delivery.

I think they will leave that "sorry we missed you!" card in your mailbox so you go get it at the post office then they'll arrest you there.. I think.

[1 Points] throwahooawayyfoe:

Somebody just the other day posted their CD story. They had left the package on their porch for a week with RTS written on all sides of the package. He decided to go out one day, didn't touch the package, and as soon as he left the house they swarmed on him.

It doesn't matter when you grab it out of your mailbox. If they want you, they'll get you.

[1 Points] lucasjkr:

If they're doing a controlled delivery, they're not sitting in their van waiting for you to retrieve your mail. They'll trying to comr up with any reason get can muster that would result in you acknowledging the package is yours and retrieving that se package from the postal inspectors hands

But as you point point out, If your situation has escalated to the point that they're going to try to give you a CD, you're akready loft. All you can do is hope thT your house is clean because you're not going to get any heads up anoutb LR's activity until they're already in process.

I'd assume by the time they do a CD they've built enough of a profile on you to notice something like that.
