Should I use registered mail? Will registered mail require a signature from the recipient?
Registered mail is tracked, which makes it a lot less likely to get lost or stolen in the Cambodian postal system.
The post office here does not require any form of identification, even with registered mail. I just have to fill out a small form which gets a tracking number put on it. Obviously I would put a fake name. But my stealth is superb so I'm not too worried about anything on my end. The only thing they would have on me is my handwriting and video camera footage at the post office. (The package itself will have printed address labels.) And I'm leaving the country soon anyway so I'm really not concerned about anything at my end...
My main concern is whether or not registered mail from Cambodia Post will translate to USPS requiring a signature of the recipient. Also, how does one safely check the tracking of a package containing something illegal? Neither the recipient nor I would track it from our real IP obviously. But wouldn't tracking it over TOR also raise red flags in the postal system?
Not at all new to DNMs but new to being on the shipping end (no, I am not a vendor, this is a one-time thing with a friend) and not too familiar with international postal procedures. All advice is appreciated.
If you use an ip address thats at least in the US you should be fine. Bonus points if you track it from the address its going to. If you check with TOR it WILL raise concern, its one of the criteria that could lead a pack to come under extra scrutiny
