When you buy a shipping label from shipnik or shipcoin, there is a barcode generated in the upper right hand corner that the USPS postage broker (indicia, shippo respectively) embeds into the label, which presumably contains whatever data they want that may reference other data that the broker has about the shipment, which of its resellers sold the postage, etc that the postal inspectors could use to quickly ask for information about a package without having to do much work.
Should vendors be blanking this out before they print for extra privacy? Will it fuck up the shipment for any reason?
TIA
That's probably only linked to the shipnik account and possibly your bitcoin. If you're worried about those two things, then I guess you could? I wouldn't be real worried....If you are thinking that deep you should probably also make sure your printer doesnt have a hard drive that stores thousands of images you printed forever, or prints those crazy bright yellow dots that identify the make, model, serialnumber, etc.
Oh sorry, its not tinfoil Tuesday :P takes off hat
