Is the government manipulating Darknet markets?

This may sound like a wild theory. But if 'the war on drugs' didn't exist, and corrupt feds didn't make a killing from confiscated bitcoins, would things flow better? Time and time again we hear about successful markets that derail, for murky reasons. If there weren't so many fingers in the pie, and selfish people bringing it down from the inside, would things finally be able to settle into a successful system? There are inspirational people who fight for the greater good.

But too often they fall to the clutches of negative forces, and hell, maybe they have no choice. I am proud of those who stand up in the name of freedom and choice for buyers. But since SR2 went down i've felt unsettled and wary of trying new things. And it vexes me that government resources are wasted on operations busting regular people for buying small amounts of anything. What we need to do is take the focus off drugs and getting the authorities to work on the things that really matter.

The reason the government maintains the war on drugs is to maintain its forceful power over people. Simple as that.

THE WAR ON DRUGS IS NOT PROFITABLE.

our government spends more on it then it gains.

THE WAR ON DRUGS 'JUSTIFIES' LOTS OF EXCESS SPENDING TO MILITARIZE OUR POLICE FORCES.

We do not need a totally militarized police. We have the national guard for a reason.

TOP REASON FOR LEO TO REMOVE ONES RIGHT TO PRIVACY?

"They have drugs"

Our government spread the message currently that drugs can ruin your life. While yes, this is sometimes true, they make sure it ruins your life by arresting and charging with possession.

I know this sounds crazy, but just stick with me and think it through a couple times. Do some more research.

TL;DR? THE WAR ON DRUGS ATTEMPTS TO TAKE AWAY AMERICAN FREEDOM AND PRIVACY.

Sorry to destroy the imagination that DNMs exist because ppl are reclaiming freedom. The fuel that keeps DNMs running and growing is... surprise, surprise... money!

In order to do that it helps to understand the many reasons behind the "War on Drugs", and to know something of the history of such wars going back over 2000 years.

Examples include the prohibition of taking marijuana for non-medical reasons in Ancient China, the Romans clamping down on Dionysian Rites, use of the death penalty for smoking tobacco (India, Persia, Turkey), the banning of coffee in various countries (Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Turkey) etc.

War on drugs/terror = war on freedom.
