USPS Package opened? What now?

Searched some other threads on this topic, didn't see one that described this scenario exactly.

Received an express mail package the other day. Exterior envelope was intact and didn't appear damaged. Upon opening, there was evidence of the vendor's stealth efforts: an innocent item and a plastic bag that appeared cut open. NO PRODUCT.

Spoke with the vendor and they offered to reship and said "sorry for the mistake."

I see two options. Either the vendor spent 20 bucks to ship a package without product, or it was removed en-route. Can't see why LE would remove product but still deliver pacakge, but if it was removed in transit, somebody knows what I'm up to, and that's not a fun idea.

Should I be looking over my shoulder, or just chill? Am I retarded for having the vendor re-ship? Any other theories?

My guess is that a USPS employee took the contents for themself. Not that uncommon.

Sounds to me like the vendor just f'ed up and sent you an empty pack. We're human and mistakes happen, and unfortuanetly, due to the nature of the biz, we can't utilize all the checks and balances that an eBay or Amazon vendor has at their disposal.

Look carefully at the package and the way its taped. Does the package only have 1 type of tape? are there any parts of the package which seemed to be cut open and retaped? if not then the vendor probably forgot to include the product which happens when youre getting high off your own supply.

I think it's the vendor who did it.

Sometimes the vendors use re shippers. Or just other people in general to ship. If it's a reliable vendor it's more likely to be a middleman shipper. This happened to a dmt vendor before

If the package was sealed the vendor probably just made a mistake and forgot to put the product in

You said that the exterior appeared intact, so I'm inclined to say that it was the vendor's fault.
