FBI is saying that they were able to pinpoint the address via the CAPTCHA tool? Umm, that is quite some serious shit.

Thanks for the post. I swear I remember someone on the old /silkroad sub mentioned something about finding this bug or something similar. Do you remember that post?
edit: its interesting that the bug appeared to be in the captcha. I wonder if Tor has problems handling captchas because the larger sites have issues with it.

Anyone find the page in the government's response that describes entering "miscellaneous" strings into the login page, as Greenberg writes it? The description that I see on page 12 is much more generic.

Could this be why SR2 has taken the CAPTCHA away, maybe they knew this info before us?

Prohibition by psychological warfare. Break the laws a little here and there and target people and torture them to scare the others away from engaging in the behavior they won't to discourage. I hate our laws.

Whether the FBI used parallel construction or not, and it looks like they didn't even need to in order to gain access to the servers, this should be a lesson to all DNM operators that the time to step up security is NOW.
It should also be a reminder to this community here that we should, as a whole strive to see through the BS and help each other out as much as possible because the Feds are watching and only through eternal vigilance will any of these marketplaces continue to operate.

What is parallel construction for $1000 Alex?
Good thing everyone on reddit only fictionalizes their drug use/drug reviews and doesn't actually use the darknetmarkets huh fellas
