I'm confused - are hand-written addresses a good or bad thing?

I've been hearing a lot of stuff from a lot of different people lately.

From what I compiled, they're good because it makes the package seem a little less suspicious, and it's bad because LE can sort of connect the writing style to the dealer...

Help :(

EDIT: Main reason why I asked this is because I bought a lil' something that came with a hand-written address. It was a lil' larger than a regular sized envelope but didn't look suspicious at all...

kinda depends on the situation. a white rectangular box with a hand written return address of a bogus company paid for with stamps might look a little funny. but an envelope with return address 'Grandma Beatrice' paid for with a single stamp might appear more legit than the same return address paid for with USPS.com and printed with a thermal printer onto a label.

realistically, if the vendors change up the packaging itself semiregualry, it shouldn't really matter whether or not they hand write it.

It's pretty clearly listed in the USPS guidelines for package profiling that handwritten anything is something that draws additional scrutiny to a package.

Many look at it as the mark of an unprofessional/inexperienced vendor.

Some might think handwriting makes the package look more "authentic."

Example: If someone wants to send a friend a small gift, do you expect them to just have all this packing material and label makers on hand? No. And would you take the time to print Aunt Edna's name out on a label instead of penning the name? If they aren't familiar with printing labels or simply don't do it often, people often choose the latter of the two options.

The "authentic" part is where it just looks like two people sending each other whatever normal people send in the mail. Personally, I don't print out shit for friends or family members. But do I make sure my handwriting is neat? You bet I do.

I'd say printed labels show a level of profesionalism that is expected of vendors. Personally, either don't matter to me, but if a motherfucker does hand print my shit in a sloppy manner? Lord have mercy, I'll beat him with a sock full of woodscrews.
