If a seller on local bitcoin asks for a picture of you with your identity, and a matching bank card, is it risky to send them this?

Sorry about to buy bitcoin for the first time, but this has me very worried.

I would move on. There are plenty of others who do not require that.

Uh... Id never send a pic of my bank card, is he a vendor on Alphabay who's into carding by any chance?

Yeah just move on, next thing you know he would be asking you for DNA sample

IMO the safest bet is to do WesternUnion transfer to a reputed seller from China or Russia, this is vertually never traced back to you. Heck I've even sent GBP to a LBC vendor from Azerbaijan, there is no way this will come bite me in the ass like a Bank transfer or cash trade can

If you are in a region with suntrust banks, they have never asked me for my id. I have however shown my id to many banks aswell as lbc sellers! Not advising it just saying that I am still around ;) i would advise moving to another lbc seller absolutely as i have never experienced a request for a bank card and that seems like a great way for a carder to steal your info as someone else on here said!!

Can you give them those pictures, but with some info redacted. Find out what they need exactly. Often sellers are just trying to protect themselves from scammers. Also you might consider using LBC for in-person buy. It worked for me great, for small amounts.

Pnc, woodforest, and citizens have never asked. Move onto a different seller on lbc

With Circle, that's normal

I doubt there is much risk involved, but on the other hand there are other sellers, so maybe just take the safe route.
