There's frequent talk about Controlled Deliveries etc. in this subreddit (and others) but they are America centric conversations, which are not representative of the systems in other countries. I have read that the British police don't do Controlled Deliveries at all and instead they send "Love letters", however I've been unable to find any good resources on how the British police differ from American police in enforcement of darknet related purchasing (and vending too, although my interest is in purchasing -- specifically, whether it's better to be a UK buyer than a US buyer).
Are there any good resources on this, or can anyone talk about their understanding of the system? Thank you!
I don't think you've got much to worry about if you're buying personal use quantity. There has to be some kind of street value going on here equivalent to the cost of the forces.
UK enforcement need to operate under approval of the public. This sounds like a dickish thing to say but it's how we do things. Policing by consent - this is why the love letter exists. It's a gentle warning. I'd consider the address burned after getting a letter cos there's no need to be stupid.
