greetings, I need to store 15 of trips liquid mushroom vials for a month or 2 and I;m trying to figure out the best way to store them, I've read about storing liquid mushrooms in the fridge or the freezer but I'm just wondering if that's necessary for that long of a time period? does anyone know at what temperatures these vials will start loosing there potency? If it is necessary to put it in the fridge would a plastic tupperware container work to keep out oxygen or if the vials are already air tight? if its not necessary to use the fridge then how do i go about storing it? sorry for all the questions thanks in advanced.
Psilocybin starts to break down in dry matter due to heat at a relatively high temperature, akin to the lowest temperature settings of most ovens (150F-200F). It will not lose potency rapidly though. Many impatient people bake their wet shrooms at these temperatures for a short time in order to dry them quickly for sale. They become weaker, but are still generally okay and it's much quicker than the proper desiccant and fan combo. Take that for what it is as it applies to dry matter, and not a solution. I believe your biggest concern here is not degradation of potency due to heat, but whatever occurs due to bacteria that may be contained in the solution having time to replicate at warm temps. Storing in the fridge will drastically reduce the threat of bacteria. Cultivators store mycelium in agar or whatever they like in fridges to dramatically prolong its viability. That's partly to slow mycelium growth and we are not really talking about that anyway. If TwS prepared the solution in front of/under a flow hood it's less to have contaminants. Take note, too, that what's contained in this product may actually be some other psychoactive. I've not looked whether they've been tested. Personally I'd sore it in a class vial with a rubber stopper in the fridge and preferably with a vial of dark colored glass. The best ones you can get from mycology supply stores and lab supply places, etc., but they're everywhere online. Just look for amber glass vials in the future.
