How long will a sealed mylar bag stay properly smell proof for?

*I assume over time the smell will begin to permeate the mylar sealed bag and thus no longer be smell proof?

*If it does, I assume that weed will begin to smell sooner than say the common powdered or crystallised drugs?

*If one wanted to order something off the markets and then potentially take it past drugs dogs at festival or event, will the time it has been in the sealed mylar bag for matter?

Vacuum sealed is the whole idea behind keeping the bud smell masked

I've seen re-sealable bags sold as "smell-proof", they had a double seal and much thicker plastic than usual, but after being used for a bit I doubt they would be that effective sealing the smell of strong bud.

If I am intending to transport anything I try to leave it in the original packaging, assuming the vendor uses a vac-sealer - if its maintaining a vacuum it means the smell cant be leaking out. Next best thing is the MBB bags with a re-sealable strip plus a one-time full seal, they seem pretty effective for small amounts.
