Feedback Requested on Darknet Deals Thread

In the spirit of trying to do things better, I wanted feedback on the Darknet Deals thread. When providing feedback, please specify if you are a vendor or a buyer. I get the feeling the darknet deals thread isn't quite working and would like to understand why. We get vendors posting threads up instead of the DnD thread. Why? Is it a lack of visibility or just not knowing about it?

Any feedback would be great. If possible, we can try to re-tool things to work better. Keep in mind though that we do operate under certain constraints. We basically won't be able to allow vendors to post ads up on their own. It needs to be contained ot some degree. So keeping that in mind, fire away.

Vendor Specific Questions

  1. How often do you post in the DnD thread?

  2. What don't you like about it?

  3. What do you like about it?

  4. Do you feel that nobody looks there and thus won't see your ad?

  5. Has the DnD thread driven business to your store?

  6. What would you like to see changed?

Buyer Specific Questions

  1. How often do you look at the DnD thread?

  2. Is it easy to find or discover vendors for the products you are interested in?

  3. What would you like to see changed?

EDIT: WTF AutoMod!!!! Not sure why every single comment is being flagged, maybe since we are talkign about sourcing, its thinking its sourcing. Fail!

Buyer. I check it weekly. Wish more vendors posted on there, it's fun scrolling through and seeing who's offering what outside of my regular drugs and vendors without having to boot tails to check the markets.

Vendor Specific Questions

How often do you post in the DnD thread?

About once a month

What don't you like about it?

I don't think many people read it

What do you like about it?

I think the format is good

Do you feel that nobody looks there and thus won't see your ad?

Yes

Has the DnD thread driven business to your store?

Maybe one or two customers have mentioned something specific from the thread. Hard to know otherwise.

What would you like to see changed?

It's probably the job of vendors to drive traffic there. I have a competition for my HK weed customers - we're naming my new strain of weed. I'll be using the thread for voting on the names that customers have entered in the comp. Only customers can nominate names (which I will then list in the thread, under my ad) and everyone can vote.

We should have competitions sponsored by vendors - that would definitely drive traffic. Could we call it the Darknet Deals and Competitions thread?

As a buyer, I'd prefer the thread not be in contest mode, because that would mean I have to go scrolling through literally everthing else to get to the cannabis section, which, aside from opiates and stimulants, is the only section I pay special attention to.

Buyer:

imo the reasons people don't use it enough is #1 people are literally too lazy to look around in it and #2 people usually have an idea who they're going to go through before they buy and #3 people usually just dig around in the markets to find good deals. I actually really like the thread I dig through it all the time tbh tho I've never actually gone through anyone that's advertised on there but I've heavily considered going through some

Hi, I've been vending for about 9 months. Only have product in occasionally, it sells out very quickly, even though I mostly vend on Hansa, which is a small market. I believe this thread and also /r/DarknetDeals are a large part of that.

Vendor Specific Questions

How often do you post in the DnD thread?

Every time I have product, and every week if I have product available. Sometimes I get in stock a day or two before the thread is replaced with a new one, so I'll post it in both...

What don't you like about it?

That it feels like a few other other vendors get away with just shilling the fuck out of the sub. They make "reviews" that are really just ads. That said, I think we have a good mod team here. I avoid posting normally because of the drama, though....

What do you like about it?

I like that it gives me a place to advertise off market. The markets mostly have terrible searches, and it can be difficult for buyers to decide which one to buy from. If they aren't already on my market, they won't find me, without these threads.

Do you feel that nobody looks there and thus won't see your ad?

Sometimes, but i'm quickly proven wrong. I always run out of product before I run out of customers to buy it.

Has the DnD thread driven business to your store?

Fuck yeah.

What would you like to see changed?

Some of the unused categories removed, theres always a bunch that nobody posts in.

I scroll right past anything stickied really unless it's something super duper important.

As a buyer, the only two reasons I don't ever use it as follows; it seems dead. What I mean is, when I check it out, there normally isn't enough vendors posting for it to be worth my time over just going to a market and sorting by price for my favorite products. I know this the problem we are trying to solve, but that's that. Secondly, the layout makes it very hard to find relevant information without tons of scrolling inbetween. I don't know the a better one, all I know is that I'm not a fan of the layout.

Edit: By the way, AutoMod is freaking out because he/she thinks that this is Darknet Deals, and we're all breaking the rules by replying to independent posts made by users.

If offers for freebies/discounts were posted that would generate more interest, like the Sunday paper coupon section (deals only available if you mention the ad/coupon code). Browsing markets direct will always be a better fit for those seeking everyday low prices. If a bot crawled all the listings on all markets and put them together in a meta-thread, that would be hella useful. If we had 10x more markets the thread would be filling more of a need. Scrolling is a pain for us lazy folk, next time imma gona use the CTRL+F function to see if that navigates easier. It's usually the last thread I look at (if at all) because it lacks the drama that brings me here in the first place. Maybe it should include quiz game or dinner theater type mysteries with prizes. Geography is also a barrier, someone in Sumatra doesn't want to waste time scrolling through listings for Zaire.

Vendor.

It's a ghost town, it's stickied and it's basically US specific, or Canadians who post to US. At the end of the day, despite it trying to generate broad appeal, it's a very specific, targeted thread that has use for maybe a dozen noobs a week. Toss it, redirect customers to their country-specific dark market sub, and if there isn't one, either tough shit or offer incentives for someone to start one up. You feel the US one needs to be stickied on the main, go nuts. It's your sub.

[1 Points] trynakick:

Buyer (barely, mostly here for drama) 1. Almost never. Could you visually do something more than change the date to indicate it updates? The 'what are you buying Wednesday' worked better because it showed up once a week, as opposed to being a static thing at the top (I know it had other issues though)

  1. I want one product, and it's a bear to get a hold of from reliable vendors, so I can't speak to this one.

  2. See my comments about the difference between this and the old Wednesday thread.

Daily. Like I suggested once before go for two weeks. Look now and it is full. New one comes up empty soon. Then once it gets full again we start over. Bi-weekly would fix that.

[1 Points] bceui3648:

Almost no vendors send to the UK in that thread. That and most of the time I tend to stick to 3-4 people that I deal with often and already do some of the cheapest product.

Buyer Specific Answers

  1. Minimum of once a week... great way to find promos and deals.

  2. I think it works great, easy to find new vendors.

  3. GET MORE VENDORS TO OFFER PROMOS/SALES/DEALS!! Other than that it is a great (although I feel underused) thread.

[1 Points] Fighterotheniteman:

It hasn't been the same since it was changed. Stickying it all week makes it feel like spam. I personally skip right over it. I loved when it would just pop up once or twice a week. You looked forward to it instead of being annoyed by its presence.

Buyer Specific Questions

How often do you look at the DnD thread?

Often, at least once a week.

Is it easy to find or discover vendors for the products you are interested in?

Yes.

What would you like to see changed?

Nothing I guess, although I'd like to see more vendors use it especially if they have specials running or just generally good prices/service. It's a great tool and people do look at it. I do, at least.

[1 Points] roionsteroids:

Not a big fan of collapsed comments/contest mode. People can do that themselves.

[0 Points] Trappy_Pandora:

I go on /r/darknetdeals often but not the /r/darknetmarkets thread.
