[GeneralQuestions] Is it worth administrating a DNM without Exit-Scamming ?

In the light of the recent events and considering the Ross diary it seems that the risk and horror of running a centralized DNM isn't worth baring without making it your last 'million dollar job'.

As of this moment the success rate of market exit scams is 100%, so what would be the reasons not to do it ?

Do you still think, your favorite market will not do it, if so why ?

Yeah if you have a successful exit strategy. Backopy closed down his market, let people withdraw their money and is arguably the most honorable administrator the DNMs have seen so far. Ross fucked up because he kept it going too long. A successful DNM running for ~1 year will make a considerable chunk of change. The admins just get greedy and try to keep it running for as long as possible which either fucks them in the end or they realize it's getting too hot to close quietly and try an exit scam.

That being said, I feel like every escrow market will exit scam because they realize it's free money and the chance of getting caught are incredibly slim

Why wouldn't you exit scam? Put yourself in the market owners shoes.

You are running a market that may involve you losing your freedom for the rest of your life. Going from millionaire entrepreneur, king of the market and darkweb to an 8x8 cell, your personal story blasted over Wired and Yahoo with a FreeVerto donation page.

Do you think you would have the willpower to walk away from 30+ million?

I personally know people who would do alot worse for 1 million.

Especially knowing the Evo mods background, professional thiefing is their gift.

I lost a little bit im not worried, I try to tumble buy and if there is 5-10 dollars left I leave or just send it to the vendor.

The way I look at it is Verto and the rest of the crew supplied a platform for most of these dealers to make money and most of the buyers to aquire substances that they can't or just a better quality then what is available locally.

If I get caught buying, im doing some time. If they get caught, they do life. Think of Ross Ulbricht the libertarian guy who started out by running a book store who is now sitting next to murderers, rapists, MS-13 and who the fuck knows what else.

There is no MDMA where I live, unless of course it comes from the DNM. Go buy some MDMA pills and the only ones locally that test good are the ones that come from here.

The main people I feel get fucked the most is the dealers and that does suck. But then you average it out, if you are getting coke by the kilo and selling it for 100 a gram on the DNM, you make as much money as you can while its good. If your pulling 3k profit a week for 12 months and you lost 5k in the scam, you still didn't fare to bad.

The community is shocked when markets don't exit scam, not when they do. The only reason not to do it is if the admins feel morally obligated, if anyone thinks that will stop them they need to grow up.

It would be to me. I've been a dealer and user for a long time now and some of the things I have seen come from street level sales is atrocious. I've had friends sold roofing tar as drugs and die(keep in mind street culture goes on ' my dude said' and DNM culture goes on buy a kit and reports)and seen people tied up and robbed etcetera. Not to mention the quality and representation of what drugs are is seriously SERIOUSLY hurt.

I'd be completely willing to face the time for it so that those two items (on a long list of many reasons why this hurts the drug trade and user) alone diminish.

Look at it this way, if they didnt plan on exit scamming then why wouldnt they create a 2-of-2 multisig to protect vendors from this shit? Some offer a 2of3 knowing buyers will never use it like evo did, 2of3 is a crappy sales ploy and nothing more, havent seen a market yet to offer 2-of-2 because theirs no big payoff that way.
