I'll skip the numbers, because the order never completed. It went into escrow, accepted, shipped, and.. nothing. Waited nine days, messaged. No response came, but slightly later their profile added a line saying they were backed up, problem with shipping/tracking, and be patient, everything will be answered in 24h. Somewhat predictably, nothing happened in the next 24 so I disputed, given that it was heading toward auto-finalize. Got a mod next day, put up what happened and politely asked to know what's going on for arrangements to be made. Nothing. Two days later, mod says vendor hadn't been on, he'd check again next day (understandable - everyone needs a turn). Next day, nothing, mod says vendor has 24h. Passes, nothing, refunded.
So total, 1) despite not a lot of negative feedback, this vendor is apparently either up to something or has left the building. Note that this order (for instance) would not impact feedback as it was canceled. 2) Evos dispute does work and appears professionally operated. 3) While escrow does protect the coins (and, perhaps more importantly, protects them from reaching potential scammers), it'll tie them up for two to three weeks. Not the end of the world, but pretty annoying.
I don't use evo, but yeah, getting coins back from escrow is really annoying. I barely managed it the one time I used pandora waaaaaay back when they had just started going rogue. And on agora. Good god. But...atleast I got em back, right? I still use Agora, I'll accept that they're busy and running a very successful website and probably only have a few mods.
Maybe something happened to your vendor that weirded them out and made them want to split? Unless they burned someone on auto finalize, it's only a slight annoyance to get your coins back.
