Package was opened yet I still received it

So, a few days ago I ordered an ounce of MJ from a DNM, and today I got it.

For some reason, the fucking bag it came in was opened, and the weed was visible. You could even smell it too. It was in a vacuum sealed bag, and you could literally tell 100% that it was weed. I'm super paranoid and scared right now, and idk what's going to happen. Why did customs open it and see the weed, yet they still sent it to me?? I'm very confused

I live in cali, so laws on mj here are aren't that strict. Thing is tho, I don't have a rec.

Will LE knock on my door? Should I get rid of it? Pls help, I haven't been this paranoid in so long. Thanks.

Edit: I messaged the vendor about it, and apparently that's how his "stealth" is lmao. Thanks to everybody that replied though!

U live in cali and buy weed off DNMs??

My guess would be either your vendor's shipping is shit but it didn't get clocked by USPS, or they just don't care about shipping weed within a state it's legal. Otherwise u woulda had a love letter or CD by now

i even had a pack delivered which was completly destroyed. i mean, the normal paper box was gone 100%, and the dvd case was smashed. there wasnt even a dvd in there, only a sightproof vakuum pack with weed. and they just put it in a clearside plastic bag with a damage report attached inside and delivered it. this was 3 years ago.

sometimes you simply got lucky

if it ripped open by accident, USPS dont care, they deliver your mail, unless its plutoniom or a battery or something on the no list. If LE was there and saw it, they'd be able to get a warrent i guess, but Fuck if a mail carrier cares. it's cool.

youre good, people send weed through the mail legally within state borders. Seriously tho you could probably just talk to your neighbors and you'll probably find someone who sells

[1 Points] None:

Lol your good man I doubt LE would make it look obvious the pack was tampered with to being with. Plus your in Cali you are not worth the effort.

Who the fuck buys weed on the DNM from Cali . HOLY SHIT

The guy who handled it was probably a stoner and thought " I got you bro!" So sent it through anyway

Customs? Was your order international? If it was, then I don't have anything useful to say.

If it was domestic, then I would not worry too much. I understand your concern of receving your package in such a blatant state but it is illegal for USPS to open your package without a warrant, even if the content inside had illegal narcotics. If you still feel nervous, and understandbly so, I would like to share an incident I've read on here told by an USPS employee.

So the USPS crew were doing the usual work until they came across a fairly large package that CLEARLY smelled like weed. Not only that, but the package was either packed very negligently or mishandled by the USPS employees or maybe both but while the crew was getting the packages ready for shipment, the weed package burst open and bricks of weed fell out. The supervisor immedietly rushed in and told the employees to put the weed back and tape it out and get it ready for shipment ASAP, and that's what exactly what they did and nothing else happened. No cops were called, no reports were filed, nada. The supervisor knew the potential legal consenquences of opening someone's package without a warrant and he/she probably didn't want to deal with all the drama and didn't want to add more stress and worries in their lives. What if the large shipment of MJ was connected to a cartel? Would they be detained? What would all the potential legal drama entail? How much money would it cost? How much time will they have to waste? What if they get fired?

If it was a bomb or somethng then the situation would be different because its a fucking bomb, but it wasn't. It was just weed, a freakin plant, and no plant is worth that much stess and drama. Taping up the package, turning a blind eye and keep on working until the shift was over probably seemed like a better option. I don't think most USPS employees really care about whats inside the package they are handling and they are probably not paid enough to deal with all the BS anyway. They just want to clock in, do work, clock out and go home and rest up for the next day.

I hope you feel a bit better.

It's called a suppressed indictment. LE ( FBI) will wait until your guard is down ... then, BANG you're BUSTED. Son, flush the weed , tell mommy and pray to Jebub you don't get boffed in prison.
