Absolutely but it depends how you obtain said xmr because then your btc will be tied to how you obtained the xmr.

Shapeshift does cooperate with LE. Like with the wannacry ransomware "developers" they used shapeshift to convert the btc to Monero I think and if I remember correctly the transaction was frozen and LE got called. So be careful
