You people are good people

There is often this idea out here, that we're all out for our own gain. To steal when given the chance, to lie in order to rip each other off, and so on. That you should never trust your vendor, and that your vendor shouldn't trust you.

Working behind the scenes for as long as I have, I can personally attest that this isn't the case at all. I see so many people with the opportunity to do so, simply not. Vendors refunding to avoid the hassle only for the buyer to come back a week later asking for a bitcoin address to pay for what was purchased. Buyers angry and feeling ripped off after wait times too long to handle giving the vendor a second chance to make things right, only to end up with more weight than was purchased to make up for the wait.

So many times I've seen two people calling each other every awful name they can imagine simply calm down, and finalize their successful transaction after it turns out that neither were attempting to scam the other.

You people are far better than you think, and this tiny but growing community that we've built together is far kinder than you can possibly imagine.

Maybe a lot of us here are out for our own gain, but that isn't our priority. Being a good citizen of tor comes first.

Edit

One particular instance that sticks out to me. A buyer had gotten about 20% less product than was advertised and so the vendor was doing a partial refund. This was some cheap $100 listing.

Only the vendor was apparently doing other bitcoin transactions too, and accidentally sent several thousand dollars to the buyer. The vendor would have had to close up shop because that was not just his profit that was his total sales for some weeks too.

The buyer asked for a bitcoin address and returned all the money, and the vendor sent him several hundred dollars worth of product and that 20% refund too.

Tor karma is real.

This place will be the rise of true Anarchism. It's a scary stigmatised word, but if you look up it's meaning, that's exactly what we got going on around here.

I love our DNM Tribe also Trap Daddy. No matter what, we're in this shit together!!!

[9 Points] StayStrong63:

Agreed, this is actually a pretty good community if you discount all the shillyness

awww i love you guys

I find if you approach things in a reasonable and open minded fashion, you can avoid most problems.

Problems with a vendor? Inquire without accusing. Still In escrow and no response? Dispute. Give the person on the other end time to react.

And if the situation doesn't pan out in your favour, inform others about your experience without being insulting, count your losses, write down the lesson you learned and move on.

Never go in with more than you're comfortable loosing.

Drug of choice trappy?

One time, a vendor did an exit scam, and asked me to FE. I was pretty polite and we ended up chatting for a bit and I FE'd. The next day negative reviews start pouring in, then the vendor was (BANNED) and I figured my stuff would never show. Lo' and behold, I ended up getting what I ordered.

I enjoyed reading this, thanks Trappy

I'm pleased and surprised that you're not really cynical. The last marketplace you were PR for, cannabisroad, dropped you right in it when they scammed everyone and left you to placate the baying mob. Even the Pandora marketplace in your name exit scammed.

No wonder you played it safe this time. Eh? Eh? Ha ha

I'm just yanking your chain, Trappy. you must be a good guy because you've had as many parody trolls as I have. In fact my most evil one, whose name ends in "radio", jumped ship from me to you. He's a professional exit scam vendor, who sends blackmail letters to all his customers. He once tried to blackmail me, then forgot which account he had used and placed a drug order with it!

But only vendors and marketplaces are evil. On my first day as a vendor, I accidentally cancelled every order I'd shipped. All the customers could have had their drugs for free, but every one of them voluntarily paid me, retrospectively.

My first customer on SilkRoad is still my customer. My second customer (who offered to buy my entire stock) is still a meth scammer. I've never had a darknet customer attempt to scam me. The couple of bad ones turned out to be rival vendors.

Darknet customers are the cream of drug buyers. most people in the world are good people, but 3% of them are psychopaths. This figure is vastly inflated on the darknet, its almost the perfect, consequence-free environment for them where they can pretend to be something that they're not. So we have this uncomfortable situation where the most-honest drug customers are being catered to by a mixture of honest vendors and markets, and sinister sub-human trash which makes your skin crawl.

You realise that all these guys with "trappy" in their username are scam vendors who you've bested so comprehensively that you now own them, right? They mimic you because there isn't really a "them", and because its the only place they feel safe. Nobody punches themself.

I've never seen a marketplace admin handle a bad vendor quite as skillfully as when Trappy_Pandora outwitted the psychopath's psychopath, known as "Bruce". There was a period when alphabay seemed to be under constant criticism and attack. Bruce is a one-man shill army when he's hopped up on goofballs, it goes on for about two weeks then stops when he needs to sleep. It had "Bruce" written all over it. there must be loads of reddit bad guys who really hate you for foiling their plans and they don't play fair. So it;s good to remember that the sun is shining behind those clouds that follow you around, acting all angry and jealous.

Nice trappy, its nice that you would take the time to express this; its something none of us would be privy to otherwise. Youve done your good deed for the day, good boy.

[2 Points] maxturbator:

Meh. We're alright. I guess. ;)

[1 Points] dnmadvocate:

Oh ya it is. You know what is really fucking bad and shady. Buying drugs in person. Now thats where people REALLY fuck with people. That where drugs are cut, that where when you take too much xanax you're "friends" clear your wallet and your stash of drugs.

[1 Points] spyderonthewall:

Trappy must be on some MDMS I really feel the love :) JK though, yeah I've met a few sketchy people but most I've had a chance to interact with are generally good natured. Just out to make a living or have fun or sustain a reasonable life in the midst of addiction without the atrocities that come with street level dealing and buying. Darknets are truly a new front that helps end the violence and have in the drug world

I feel like most of us really do try our best. We only want honesty done to us, so we try to give it out as much as possible.

[1 Points] shulginsdirtypicture:

I have a couple anecdotes to support this post and it's why I've gravitated towards using the DNMs so much.

1) Out of ordering from every major market since SR1, admittedly very casually since I only order for personal and friends' use, I haven't been scammed in any way or missed any orders in 30% int/ 70% domestic. This includes free samples. One time I thought a sample order of LSD and Al-LAD never showed but I found it months later...

2) I once got way extra in one of my early SR1 orders; two packs: one the quantity I ordered, one 5x more. It wasn't a whole lot since I ordered small amounts but still... notified the vendor, sold some stock and gave him what his cost from it was.

Tl;dr: As long as we all have each other's backs (vendors, buyers, admins), we're golden.

[1 Points] DarkKnight_1111:

I love this sub-reddit. Its pretty much the only one I browse and I have met some super cool people here. The markets are honestly the coolest thing that has happened for me in a long time. I feel really lucky to be a part of it honestly.

[1 Points] xanaxmanthevendor:

all the shitty stories get posted way more then the good stories, i see the occasional good story but most people don't bother to post them, so it just continues to make people think that every vendor is out to buttfuck them which is not the case there are good vendors who are good citizens of tor (-_-)

[1 Points] Babaji_ki_booti:

Happened with me too.. original order was not received so the vendor after a bit of chit-chat sent me a re-ship.. However a week or so after receiving the free re-ship got the original order as well about month delayed.. Paid the vendor for extra received. Its good to be honest even though trading on Onions......

[1 Points] OzFreelancer:

I love the positive happy stories. Those who remember the halcyon days of the first SR would recall that the positive tales way outnumbered the negative ones.

It's nice seeing people be nice :)

[1 Points] None:

What it comes down to is how appreciative we all our for the concept of the markets. Freedom.

If we can't have the freedom to put what we want in our bodies then we will take it for ourselves, we work together to help do this because if we can't then we would lose this vital resource.

[1 Points] DeadEyesX:

Trappy your a cool guy.

I remember when a Vendor sent me 4 extra bottles of a much more expensive steroid than the one I ordered. Then he sent me the 4 original. This after giving me a custom order with about a $100 discount, And before that he had sent me 2 wrong ones and told me to keep them and sent me the originals. So I ended up with like 8 bottles free. We were almost friends we messaged so much.

Now he has turned into a very bad I believe drug addict. He is one of the biggest sellers if not the biggest on the Bay but his negatives are something like 75 in the last 6 months. Anyone who buys steroids, Xanax pills, or mdma will probably know who I'm talking about.

I completely agree. While there are some scumbags out there, most of us just want what we want and we're more than willing to compensate the other party. Just like with vendors, they just want a place to sell their wares and they're more than willing to do the right thing.

[1 Points] bobbiggs69:

Your story at the end really puts a smile on my face. I'm a really honest person, sometimes to a fault. I really think I would do the right thing in the same situation, but I can see it being a tough one.

[1 Points] None:

So I guess this is in response to my post and I should make it clear that I would never in no way advocate killing or harming another person over a mere thing, I pick up spiders to safely put them outside for crying out loud. But when I get, what appeared to be, cheated. I snap. And so far communication has been less than ideal. But if it does land I'll report back that it did. Use this as a case study in how not to do business

[1 Points] None:

I recently ordered something recently and it wasn't being marked shipped so I msg vendor and he says he ran out but he'll have more soon. I didn't want money sitting in escrow so I told him to cancel. Pack showed up the next day, turns out he had a mix up on his end. I msg him and told him and sent him the money for it. He's just starting out and has the potential to be a really good vendor and didn't wanna throw a wrench in his business. Plus karma n shit

[0 Points] streetsprice:

I made an order for glass and it was canceled, so I looked at his note. It had to do with shipping reasons no big deal he refunded me.

/u/zealotxanax is shipping 100 free 4mg bars! (WHAT THE FUCKKKKKK) Feels great when a genuine top class vendor makes your day, definitely after getting scammed.
