Markets, how do you protect the safety of your customers?

Hopefully this will generate some serious discussion since this is an almost uncontrollable part of OPSEC by the customer

With the recent article about the man who got busted trying to buy explosives...well, literally everything on the markets are illegal. Do you take any precautions or steps to prevent/limit LE from signing up as a vendor and busting anyone who pays them and provides a name and a shipping address?

You ask every potential vendor if they're a cop. Cops are legally obligated to tell you they're a cop if someone asks.

pro tip: don't order explosives

Hello,

We seriously limit our vendors registrations, we have banned less than 10 vendors in more than 9 months of activity.
As soon as someone reports a vendor, we immediately check his account (listings and orders) and, if needed, we hide all his listings until he gets back to us.
We don't have any 'Weapons' category and our users are great as they always report listings when they think something wrong is going on (thanks, we love you all! <3).

There is literally no way for a market to know if a vendor is LE. But if you aren't at least half retarded you can look up reviews on the vendor on reddit or tmg and look at the vendor's feedback. No shit if someone is selling explosives and has 0 feedback it's going to be fishy...

I'd be really interested in learning about what the markets do about vendor verification (if anything) as well. It seems like a natural step to try to protect their users.

Markets, how do you protect the safety of your customers?

This is an important topic even though the question as asked... is clearly invalid. Perhaps there's a better way to say it, but I use the word invalid because any straight forward answer would necessarily have to be based on the false premise that it's the Market's job to protect customers safety.

A buyer who counts on the marketplace they visit online to provide them with a safe and secure experience ....probably ought not be buying drugs online because.... Surprise! You couldn't be any less secure or safe if you tried.

The main way a market can keep you safe is with good code on the site. They can only ban vendors once proven to be bad. Correct me if I'm wrong.

[1 Points] peace852:

How you can know that new market isn't created by LE or other three letter agency ? You cannot.

[1 Points] peace852:

I remember that on AB is still one guy who sell explosives and his nickname is funline. Also he had some ammunition 9x19mm with own hand also with fingerprints as background ...

[1 Points] None:

Theoretically, LE could be running the market. As long as they are not also vending, you would be OK with PGP.
