How can I be sure that if the US government decided to search the mail the package would not be found? How can I be sure that the vendor will hide it well?

LOL. You cant be sure. Each vendor has different methods of stealth shipping. If the government is opeing your box, they are gonna find whatever is in there regardless.

Here's what the US Postal Inspection Office says:

"4. Can Postal Inspectors open mail if they feel it may contain something illegal?

First-Class letters and parcels are protected against search and seizure under the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution, and, as such, cannot be opened without a search warrant. If there is probable cause to believe the contents of a First-Class letter or parcel violate federal law, Postal Inspectors can obtain a search warrant to open the mailpiece. Other classes of mail do not contain private correspondence, and therefore may be opened without a warrant."

Priority and Express packages and parcels are also considered "First-Class" for these purposes. This means they have to establish some kind of probable cause before opening the mail. Generally this means a drug-sniffing dog triggered on the package: it can also mean that an offline customer ratted out your vendor when busted and the po-po notified the postal inspectors. But in any event nobody is opening your box-o-drugs without a warrant in hand -- and given how many packages go through the system, this means your vendor would have to fuck up in a major way to trigger an inspection.

Please note that I'm only talking about domestic mail here. US customs work under different rules and definitely will give greater scrutiny to packages from the Netherlands and other notorious "drug havens."

tl/dr; read the feedback and deal with established domestic vendors who have a good track record. If you're still nervous, never buy anything more than personal use amounts. The postal inspectors aren't going to lose a lot of sleep over some guy buying an occasional eighth of weed: they will be much more interested in someone who is regularly getting kilos shipped to his home.
