Using the name of a previous tenant

Recently moved into a new place but I continue to receive mail for the previous tenant. Currently I order under my real name, but I've been considering using the previous tenants name to decrease the risk.

The only thing stopping me is the possibility of there being some kind of mail redirect system. Country is Australia.

I like the part where you ask a question!

if the previous tenant files for a forwarding address, then your incoming mail is gone,,, supposing Australia has such a service.

Ultimately, though, whose name is on the package doesn't really matter. If LE knows there are drugs in the package they likely aren't concerned with the name on the package, just who is at the residence that the package is being delivered to. Once you've opened it, you can't say "well, it wasn't for me, it was the previous tenants! I was just, err, examining it".

If you are living in a house that regularly changes tenants (ie student/professionals) then see what junk mail comes through and use that name to deliver. Dont order anything that wont fit through a letter box, because if you accept it you loose the deniability I assume you are looking for.

Of course the previous tenant might request a redirect; if mail has been coming for a while you might be ok but, yes, you might miss out on a delivery. Ultimately it is your risk analysis to make.

this is a bad idea as at any given moment the old tenant can apply for mail forwarding.
