I'm currently sitting in a cafe in a magistrates court. Everyone has stopped for lunch and there are 3 prosecutors and an usher talking about a case behind me.
There is a guy in custody that is on trial today for possession with intent to supply class B drugs (I can only assume cannabis).
My ears pricked up when I heard them saying "he was getting it shipped through the post from Canada and the USA". Well, this is interesting!
I'm not going to be able to find much out about the case - I could probably find his name amongst the daily list of defendants but I digress...
These guys have absolutely no idea what they're talking about and seem pretty confused about how this is even possible. By the sounds of it they think it is some kind of clearnet site, but I have heard one of them mention 'bitcoin' and 'money transfers'. They are also saying there is no evidence of any transactions, no info was found on his computer or in his home. All they had was a package that was addressed to him which was seized at customs. Sounds like they pulled him in for questioning - doesn't sound like they did a CD or raided his house. It sounds like the guy buckled in the interview and they searched his property after...
There's still 45mins left for lunch so if I can hear any more I will update the OP!
The guy is in custody so it sounds like he wasn't allowed bail. Most probably not his first offence, I just heard them saying "over 200 grams of herbal cannabis" and then they were trying to work out how much that was worth and what that converts into 'hits' of cannabis LOL.
I really feel like chiming in! hah!
