Middle Earth Market: Why would you have a 170KB background image for your "I'm getting DOSd" page? I don't buy it

I agree that it seems like bullshit, especially considering the radio silence and privatized subreddit. Smells like Gandalf is scheming.

Most modern DOS/DDOS attacks target the preauthentication stage, taking advantage of the flaws in application and data layers which handle the authentication process. Clearly, ME has turned off its authentication component leaving nothing for the DOS to attack. One would think /u/hacksforcrack would know this. Either he doesn't, which I don't buy, or he is spreading fud like the juvenile little fascist he is.
EDIT: Of course, ME could still be pulling an exit scam, but the static web page they are rendering is actually evidence they are being subject to a DOS/DDOS.
EDIT: Also, calling a 170k graphics file a "large object element" is completely ridiculous.

They exit scammed days ago, get over it.

If you were getting hit with the attack you linked too which is a general level 7 over Tor, we would not be able to quickly load you 170KB background image on your error page.
Something else is going on.

Come with me, to the dark side of the force. Guy's should have knew it, they never offered Multi-Sig. Scam was inevitable.
