Scamming vendors hate it!! The definitive guide to not getting scammed by ANY vendor!

Do not fucking FE. EVER! For anyone at all. Not even your mom. Or Jesus. Simple, but effective. Guaranteed to save you a lot of heartache and headaches.

edit: Yes, there are other ways a vendor can scam, but an exit scam is by far the most damaging to the most people. If you have been around while you have to have noticed this. I just see no need for FE with multisig available. There just isn't a really fair argument other than certain vendors require it. There are plenty of options out there.

Yeah, except, you know, if they send an empty box with tracking.

Fuckface.

Simply refusing to FE is not a viable option. I can think of several FE only reliable vendors offhand that offer product and pricepoints unmatched by their escrow competition. HouseOfSpirits for example is the most reliable darknet vendor I've ordered from and she laughs at the thought of allowing escrow. Try getting a sheet of LSD for her prices from an escrow vendor...not going to happen.

The trick is to spot FE exit scams before you get scammed yourself. If I see a new vendor with great FE deals and positive reviews (both in feedback and on forums) I may decide to FE even if I belive this vendor to exit scam at some point. It wouldn't make sense to exit scam on Agora before the vendor has enough sales to make his/her deposit back plus whatever profit they wish to take from the scam., so FE would make since here in a risky sort of way. Also I don't hesitate to FE for certain legacy vendors. If their pgp key has held their legacy since SilkRoad1 days, no signs of funny new prices, consistant and reliable feedback, etc it's probably ok for FE. One might say that older vendors are more likely to scam-out but usually one can see it coming a mile away. There are many other posts that deal with how to spot an exit scam so I won't go into details but it's not hard to see the scam comming and protect yourself. With all this said, I always try to find escrow and multi-sig offers first and choose FE vendors as a last resort unless I'm knowingly gambling on a sale which happens from time to time. I treat these FE sales as gambling and so far my payout is about 50/50 but I don't gamble with more than I wish to lose.

I FE if I want the better price. I do this knowing I might get fucked. I also have a few vendors that I use that require it but I know the risk. It is my money to lose and I weight the risks on an individual level. I also won't cry when I do get ripped off because I knew the risk. 50+ orders. 1 rip off. 30% of my orders have been FE. Don't risk what you can't afford to lose.

I had an order in escrow with a cocaine vendor on BlueSky. My 8 ball never arrived and they vendor was clearly selective scamming me. I filed a dispute and received a 50% refund because the admin insisted that 50% was the minimum. The vendor never supplied tracking so there was nothing to go off except his claim of shipping and my claim of non-receipt.

I tell this tale to inform you that escrow is not the end-all-be-all you are making it out to be. Whether you FE or use escrow, you should NEVER spend more than you are willing to lose. What truly matters is the REPUTATION of a vendor. FE is earned by those who show they are trustworthy. I'm guessing you're an Avenger against BlueViking then?

Plus, there are many many many other variables that could cause you to lose your funds in escrow. Considering you are a user who has been here for a bit, I would have thought you knew that.

The "N3v3r fiN4l1z3 3aRly" brigade needs to die. Everyone just needs to do what they are comfortable with.

The vendor sends you a bag of schwag instead of the A+++ med buds you ordered. The market sides with the vendor since it's your word against his and he says the picture you sent isn't the weed he sent.

The vendor sends you nothing and gets a 50% refund.

The vendor sends you nothing and gets a 100% refund because his profile says "NO REFUNDS IF SHIPPING TO [YOUR HOME COUNTRY]"

etc.

Come back with some other Deep Thoughts when you grow chin hair, junior.

Just because your funds are in escrow does not mean you cannot get scammed. You can get scammed by vendors in more ways than one. Not FE'ing is a good start, using Multisig is ever better. However, buyers don't always win disputes. Keep that in mind.

I FE if I trust the vendor and they have an exclusive product with stellar reviews.

Do you consider this same way as direct deals too? The biggest, most trust worthy vendors use direct deals. I mean usually you also have to show yourself worthy of that too. But what say you of that?
