[Product Inquiry] What would you include in an "opiate quit kit" and who would you buy it from?

After 15 years living as a slave to the opiates I've finally got my dose tapered low enough that I might be starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I've got a handful of suboxone strips on the way that I'm going to use to jump off so I can get my dose to a stable, concrete number. I'm not going to stay on the subs long because I've worked hard to get my dose this low -- I'd like to do a relatively quick taper and I'm expecting there to be some discomfort when I stop taking the subs.

SO, I've been thinking about how nice it would be to put together a "quit kit" of things to help get through the withdrawal. So far, I'm thinking a few benzos to get through the first couple intense sleepless nights, clonidine for more general use, and possibly some baclofen.

What else should I be looking to include? Is there a particular vendor with whom I'd likely be able to source everything in one order?

If an enterprising vendor were to put together a pre-made kit and sell it, would there be other opiate addicts out there who would be interested in buying one? Even if you're not planning to go clean, it would make a great contingency for dry times.

Just a thought.

In addition to benzos, clonidine, and ambien, I would include Kratom and even some Lopermide in the kit.

i've been thinking about this too man i'm surprised we haven't seen it--clonidine or neurontin, some benzos, maybe ambien or some sort of tranquilizer, subs, and maybe even some over the counter supplements and cold medicine to help with cold sweats and aches, maybe kratom caps.

Methadone or subutex(buprenorphine), dihydrocdene, for benzos I'd use valium for anxiety, and maybe zopiclone for sleep.

Offer several different style packs, maybe offer naloxone for Hard-core H package. Also put all addictive stuff on a 7-14 day rapid reduction or people will just have another habit.

Edit: it's a great idea, I have vast experience in detoxing, from cold turkey to getting utterly smashed for 5 days. I think there will certainly be great demand for this, you could also add a custom made advice pack depending on substance, duration and habit. I'd start offering 3 generic packs each with different stuff, ie methadone and subutex pack would have different stuff. Good luck :)

Looking at alot of the replies I'd encourage you to keep the list to a minimum, alot of these guys are obviously drug experts, not detox experts. But this is definitely not the ideal approach to stopping opiates.

I have spent many years in on going drug treatment, and have successfully stopped drug use, usually a cocktail of heroin, benzos and alcohol dependency for up to 5 years, I lost my home, wife, job and kids twice so I've learnt the hard way, and have tried many different approaches by many different agencies-Inc, cold turkey, methadone, dihydrocodene, britlofex and subutex plus the extra things. Drug treatment is free in the uk. A common error is getting to high while trying to get clean, usually leads to relapse as your judgment is poor. You dose enough to ease discomfort but maintain some mental control or you just get high and die, as is often the case for detoxers getting wrecked. Including several close friends. I'm just thinkin you don't wanna be that story.

As said before cold turkey is superior in every way, but the hard facts are success rate is very low as its harsh, and also very few ppl will even try it. I'll be honest, most my cold turkeys were in a cell.

My personal recommendation would be, subutex as the main, build the rest around this. Valium(or equivalent) through the day, not big doses, combined with dihydrocodene(or another muscle relaxant), a good sleeper for nights only, and ibruprofen, paracetamol and an anti diarrhoea med. All at low to moderate levels. Keeping in mind anything addictive needs to be tapered relatively fast, 14 days iis usually when the benzos addiction kicks in. This is a massive concern as many addicts simply swap addictions. If you have a really hard case that continues to relapse, May consider naloxone after 7-14 days. This is just what I've found works for me after many fails, or simply ending up on benzos.

Also very important to combine this with some positivity, do they have friends/family for support? I didn't. So it's crucial to get lots of funny and positive films, books and games. Good food, drink tons of water, avoid alcohol and try to at least take a small walk every day, and a bath/shower, these things help immeasurably to your positivity which has much more impact than the physical side you are treating with the drugs, but if the drugs part is done right, it frees your body from the pain and discomfort that constantly focuses your mind right back on drugs.

You can include this elementary advice in a small printout. Might even be a good idea to include a naloxone shot in case they relapse after a week clean and fuckup. I made myself many detox packs over the years, and during my 20`s they almost always got me so wrecked I'd end up waking with a needle still in my arm.

Good luck though, love what your doing.

Tramadol sucks balls, helps mildly with restless limb syndrome, aka-tour de france. But dihydrocodene is vastly superior for this and also covers other symptoms.

Gabapentin/neurontin or lyrica. Also a psychedelic trip on 2c-I followed by MXE really helped me reach the mind state needed to quit.

True junkies know that using other drugs to get off your drug of choice just reverts you back to your drug of choice. Benzos might help in the short term, but if you had any self control, you would not be deep into opiates in the first place. Everybody is different, but this is just my personal and many others personal experiences. For the kit, i would include loperamide for the shits, gabapentin for the restless legs and sleep, and a list of NA/AA/SMART meetings in their area for the moral support. Good luck with your sub taper, don't let it last more then a week or two or you will be in minor withdraw for a damn long.

Never done it before, but I can imagine I would stock up on kratom (not extract), weed and a lot of sleeping supplements. I like melatonin, ashwagandha and magnesium.
