Caught with 10g of Acetyl-Fentanyl

A couple weeks ago I was caught by police with a bag containing about 10 grams of Acetyl Fentanyl I purchased on a market. They seized the bag and sent it to a laboratory for identification. I was let go, but they said they would be following up. Being that AF is such a rare chemical, will the lab even be able to identity it? It doesn't show up under any drug tests. I live in the US unfortunately, but AF itself is not a scheduled substance, but there is the analog act. I wasn't officially arrested or charged, but there is a charge pending depending on what the substance comes back as.

I read on the DEAs website that even small amounts of Fentanyl Hcl can get you 5-20 years. I don't know whether to pack up and fly to Russia or something or get a lawyer who can possible get me off the hook. I have never had any type of arrest or record before.

Any advice?

Find a few criminal defense attorneys and meet for an initial consult, it should be free. Find one you like and if shit hits the fan clearly invoke your right to an attorney and keep your mouth shut until he gets there.

Also keep your mouth shut in the meantime, including friends and family.

Russia sounds like your best bet.

Where you at OP? I can get a chopper there in an hour.

Pack your bags, we're going to see Putin.

Of course a lab can identify. If it has an CAS# its identifiable. You can be sure of that.

In my area it would be some type of manufacturing charge because heroin is rampant here and people are dying from heroin cut with fent, so they are cracking down on it.

Hopefully you used a little out of that 10 gram pack and they don't weigh it in the bag (which they probably do).

Looks like fent and analogues have become part of the minimum sentencing guidelines probably becuase of all the heroin overdoses.

Hate to break it to you but I just found this on another subreddit with title: Schedules of Controlled Substances: Temporary Placement of Acetyl Fentanyl into Schedule I
http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/fed_regs/rules/2015/fr0521_7.htm

Hopefully you haven't said too much already. So like other have mentioned lawyer up immediately and only speak through your lawyer. You don't need to mention where you got it and most likley without an admission they won't know. They are probably thinking you got it locally and will want to work you to climb up the chain. Whatever the lawyer costs you will wind up paying much more if you don't get one right from the jump. Trust me on that one I know all to well.

[2 Points] 666fun:

What are you talking about, acetylfentanyl, being a derivative/analog of fentanyl, is a schedule 1 controlled substance in the U.S. And you're right even if it wasn't, it would fall under the analogs act.

From wiki:

The illegality of the drug has been supported by the charges against individuals for distribution of acetylfentanyl and possession with the intent to distribute acetylfentanyl.[2] The individual was sentenced to 3 years in prison by a federal court.[15]

And unfortunately, supposing their initial test doesn't yield a result (I'm pretty sure it will though, you're not talking about something that's unknown to LE), it's not like the drug lab will throw up their hand and say "we give up!", they'll use q more refined test to determine what it is exactly.

And yeah, fentanyl and that whole family are some serious shit as far as LE goes. I wouldn't be surprised to see an intent to distribute; even if it wasn't packaged into individual hits, they'll probably throw a serious charge like that at you on account of how many doses you actually had.

You could pick up and fly to Russia, if you're okay with never returning to the states again, never seeing your friends and family, etc. or just buck up, get a lawyer, and start refining your defense to at least evade intent charges.

How were you caught anyways? It wasn't a CD, you would have said that. Were you just walking around or driving around with almost a half ounce of the stuff in a bag in your pocket?

Get a lawyer. I know someone who was caught with another RC, schedule 1. It was sent off to the lab..if not for the attorney dude would have gotten some time. As it was they just made a deal and it went away.

yes they are going to be able to identify it, so stick around and face the consequences or hit the road.

Lawyer up and shut up.

whatd you say?

[1 Points] meantocows:

Buddy, I have terrible news. They just moved acetyl fentanyl to schedule 1 on the down low. I didn't see when they made that effective but it may already have happened. I would highly reccomend you start shopping for a lawyer.

[1 Points] OGxAlpha:

Dude I knew just got busted transporting 5g fent and got 5 years. Good luck, man.

Simple advice here:

Lawyer up. Clean up. Shut up.

Simple as that.

I'd also like to opine that blabbing about it on reddit was probably a bad decision.
