[Vendor/MarketInquiry] Free samples listed on Alphabay- is it safe to order a free sample or is it to good to be true?

So I was just browsing random listings on alphabay by drug (not vendor- not sure how to look by vendor on their since I just joined) and I see a random free sample of 3 clonazepam for $)0. Is this too good to be true? Would I be sending my address to a shady fuck? I don't want to send my address to some scam artist. Or is he just trying to drum up business for more ratings and offering a free sample for that reason?

I got a sample of 10 xanax bars for $0.01 + Shipping. Everything worked out great the guy was just trying to help get his name out there and get some ratings.

I got a gram of decent coke for 55 cents once.

You could use a drop so it wouldn't matter if he had the address.

Got a pretty decent gram (like 1.2 actually) of weed for $4. However this was a verified vendor that was new to this particular market.

It's a common way to drum up business. You are usually asked to write a review. Also you can get it from a contest, evo forums would often feature contests.

All told I've gotten free or really inexpensive MDMA, Xanax, MXE, Viagra and weed that way. The only time I got burned was when one vendor didn't deliver and cancelled the order which wound up costing me nothing.

I don't recall hearing too many complaints about getting burned over a free sample.

I accept free samples sometimes, it depends who the vendor is, what their offering... I kinda have an idea of how to spot shady shit in the free sample department. Its not too good to be true at all though. Free dabs and doses arent uncommon.

From a vendor standpoint, it proves legitimacy, where a lot of people dont want to be the first customer, sending around some small samples to frequent buyers can make good vouches to start business. Also, if you know someone frequently consumes ____ product, sending them a sample can snatch their business from the competition (people figured this out about the LSD Avengers).

From a customer standpoint, it gives you the chance to have a relationship with a vendor from the time they start business. In the long term, you become more memorable that way, and are more likely to get a heavy bag when you order. Vendors love rewarding loyalty.

HOWEVER

There are also tons of people making decent profits on free sample scams, especially on markets that dont charge a vendor bond. People are less likely to dispute or report a free sample not showing up... $2 shipping doesnt seem like much, but if a scammer can get say, 10 of those lined up, over 10 accounts, thats a 200$ payday for literally as much work as it takes to register an account.

Its also legend that LE will use free sample accounts to phish for addresses, but that seems unlikely to me, as your only going to really get consumers on such small orders... A vendor has no reason to request a free sample, they deal with more weight than that. Kinda worthless for LE... you'd end up with a bunch of clueless customers who cant be charged with anything other than attempt for personal.

Go for it. Try not to use your normal drop if you can, always dispute and report if they're charging shipping and it didnt show up, and you should be okay.

The moderators got no complaint so far about free samples, but always remember to stay safe, PGP encrypt your address, and don't ship to your personal house. Just the usual security procedures. It is a way for vendors to start in the business and get a customer base.

A good rule of thumb to follow is if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Why would so random person give you free drugs? Yeah, to try their product and leave a good review but chances are you are sending your address to a shady fuck.

I have never gotten any free samples and it sounds too good to be true. You don't get nothing for free usually. Usually the legit samples are a lot cheaper for a small quantity.
