Subreddit Update

Please upvote for visibility! If you care about karma, I don't.

So a lot of changes have been happening behind the scenes, and a lot is going to change. As soon as the details are ironed out and all of the moderators agree, they will be done.

Rules

Rules have been clarified and are now extremely obvious. They're explained clearly in the wiki with their punishment, are now listed in the sidebar, and will even have some CSS magic where the rules are listed again in the text box when making submissions and comments. There is now no excuse for not following the rules.

Sidebar

Less clutter, more information. If you look at the sidebar now you can probably see it's a mess. No longer.

CSS

Are you in agreement that this theme is old? We agree too. Total CSS overhaul will probably, maybe, be coming soon.

Wiki

Oh Jesus. The current wiki isn't pleasant to look at, and kinda hard to get information you need. This has been fixed.

Accountability

Moderators will tag their sidebar update along with an active warning, after a certain period it will be archived in the superlist along with the moderator that added it to the sidebar. All "blacklist" members now have explanations on their addition, if available. There are a few that I haven't been able to find explanations for and they will be discussed in the future. Rules now have actions moderators will take with the offence.

AutoModerator

I promise this is coming, it annoys you guys as much as it does us. I don't know what drug it's on, but it's a fiend. I affectionately call it Walther Funk.

So that's the update on the current goings of us scheming moderators. How about some teaser pictures?

Will there be any way to get rid of the black? I've always thought black pages were kind of obnoxious. Just my own taste. With that exception it looks good.

I'd like to see the noobs subreddit advertised much larger. Just think that the more noticeable it is the fewer noob posts that will be junking up this sub.

I'd like to nominate the heading with the green background with the onion egg thing and all the pills. Always thought that loked dope.

I'd like it if you keep the kind of cover image at the top, just change it every once in a while. And while this is "Dark"net markets, the theme doesn't have to be as dark as that. I kinda like the grey and white here already.

Edit: Saw MLP's post about there being a light version, that's cool. Anyway, I just like the personality this sub had when ever the cover would change. For Feb it was like dildos and hearts, personality is nice.

Please make a separate page for Vendor Reviews. It is one of the key features thof this sub and I feel it's not been used to its full potential.

My idea would be to have a separate section on sidebar linking to archive of existing vendor reviews and a template to write one. There has been a lot of discussion here on how an objective yet informative and useful vendor template should look like, so you should definetely look into that. If everyone starts using one given template, it will be much easier for those who write and for those who read.

Secondly, I believe one (or even more) mods could be responsible for approving those vendor reviews and categorizing them. By that I mean one page could be dedicated for list of vendors, and when pressed on one you would see reviews of all their products. That could save a lot of time when looking for some info. It's already there, but in a big mess and pile of rubish.

Also, if looked after regularly, it would literally take no time to keep it updated. Some reviews are going to be useless or not follow specific rules or guidelines, therefore they should be deleted or edited.

Besides that, I would say this sub is already fine with what it is, it just needs a little bit more control over the content to make it more relevant. I do think you should stick to light theme as dark colours are kind of exhausting and as someone already said, are a bit obnoxious. Nevertheless, nice to see you guys trying to improve :)

If you want to keep the testing-sub a secret, better blur it out in the first screenshot.

I'm not a huge fan of black backgrounds, but I know you've got a light/bright-version of it, too, so that's okay.

I love the new wiki - way better than the old one.

Maybe you could list the top-3 rules in the comment box and as soon as you click 'in' it to write something, they'll go away, like in /r/AskReddit?

I would break out "No posting vendor stealth details" from "No personal information" for clarity.

[2 Points] rappercake:

I think you forgot the bailey jay images in your css mockup screenshots. They'll be in the final product though, right?

[2 Points] youtakesally:

When are we going to have a rule that forbids reviews where the user hasn't tried/tested the product?

[0 Points] Trappy_Pandora:

Hey am I allowed to contribute prizes to your contest as well?

[1 Points] None:

a way to upvote and downvote marketplaces like one would with thread posted would be cool. say people with a certain amount kamra could upvote / downvote.

[1 Points] BrodhiRoundhouseKick:

If I don't know what a "rule" is that means I don't have to follow them right?

Just joking... keep up the great mod-work!!!

[1 Points] None:

prizes you say?

[1 Points] ciphersexual:

Thanks MLP I appreciate the unpaid work that went in to this.

It may just be me, but the "no sourcing" rule, stated like that, never really makes sense to me. I know what it means because I'm on here every day, but I still have to think about it.

Who's the subject doing the (disallowed) action in "no sourcing?" Vendors advertising themselves as a source? Buyers looking for a vendor source? What exactly is being sourced? Drugs? Bitcoins? Vendor reviews?

I dunno how to state it succinctly otherwise. Anyone?

[1 Points] Hank_Vendor:

yes. PRIZES / NO CHANGE (except prizes)

[1 Points] MatiaIdea:

I like the stealth rule. Its better that way.

[1 Points] synthetic:

Where is the blacklist?

[1 Points] None:

Looks good MLP. THanks for the work!

[1 Points] huzibizi:

new theme looks kinda sexy

also since it's default black, should RES night-mode make it light, like it is now?
