De-anonymizing Tor Users ? Tor users can be easily located by monitoring networks for entry/access nodes to the Tor network ? 80% of all types of Tor users can be de- anonymized ? Number increases to 95-100% if they are in common areas ? Time to de-anonymize users decreases by orders of magnitude when resources exceed the absolute minimum technical requirements

Whistleblowers should encapsulate Tor traffic in at least one additional layer of encryption and one additional proxy/relay
So VPN before getting on TOR for extra security?

I'm hesitant to open a file from here, would someone give the text or even better a SUMMARY
This is crap. No citations, plenty of grand suppositions, and absolutely nothing we didn't already know - just re-stated in ways that are totally misguided and wrong. I didn't think this sub was ripe for clickbait, but I guess I was wrong.
Tor is extensively researched in the academic security community - there is no shortage of studies that can be cited about these "flaws" (assuming that they even exist). So why hasn't the author ("Michael Best," who seems to have no real presence on the internet as any kind of security researcher or anonymity expert) done that?
Because he's pulling shit out of his ass. That's why.
This is like a condensation of all the most sensational, clickbait headlines about Tor that are wildly misinterpreted and misunderstood, thrown together without any actual understanding or reason. Furthermore, his suggestion to encapsulate Tor traffic in another mechanism is extremely foolish, at least without further research - using a VPN or the like with can in fact make one much easier to de-anonymize, via increased opportunities for timing attacks and the like.
All said, I rate it 1/10. If anyone has anything more substantive, though, I would be glad to read it.
