Really Barred on LSD.

I'm not barred or on LSD right now, don't worry. But last night my trip went really south on about 200mcg, so I took one half of a 2mg bar (I have no tolerance) and 5mg of melatonin (my normal dose, I take once or twice a week), but I think I got into a thought loop doing so and ended up taking the other half of a Xanax and another 5mg melatonin. Anyways, one of the last things I remember before passing out is trying to get up to do something but being unable to stand and falling back on my bed and then jolting back up and feeling like I hadn't taken a breath in a whole minute. Obviously I'm here now, but I'm wondering if that was dangerous or if my mind was just playing tricks on me, since it's actually the first time I've used drugs to escape a trip.

Congrats. You are now a bartard!

edit: well on your way!

Sounds like LSD bartardation as opposed to respiratory depression.

I hate benzo's. I got on them for some years of my 20's, and it left me a forgetful, apathetic-most-of-the-time, occasional-rage-storm-having idiot. I dropped out of college because I continually forgot I had an assignment or project due. Even the things I normally enjoyed became ho-hum; just stopped experiencing true happiness for the most part. And I didn't notice it happening until I was well past the point where I could have stopped it.

The worst part? All of that continued for three or four years after I'd stopped.

Granted, it diminished over that time frame, but it took that long before I started to feel 'normal' again. And I only ever took a quarter bar here, a half klonopin there. Maybe once or twice a day at my worst.

So my advice? Just don't touch 'em. Get rid of them, flush 'em down the toilet, whatever.

Especially with LSD its easy to convince yourself of risks you know exist but you aren't actually experiencing.
