[Complaint/Warning] Vendor Hollands-Best on Agora may be selectively scamming

I have reason to believe that the vendor hollands best on agora may be selectively scamming, but I have no definitive proof. I wanted to post my thoughts here just in case he actually is selectively scamming, and I can prevent others from FEing.

I became suspicious after placing an order with hollands-best. He marked my order pending, and then messaged me asking me to fe before he ships. I asked him to refund my order if he did not want to allow me to use escrow, and I'm still waiting on a response (messaged him today).

I'm concerned because the order was for an EU to EU, non-FE, under $1000 USD listing. I have very good buyer stats on Agora, and more then meet all his requirements to stay in escrow. After receiving the message from him, I became worried and started investigating further.

I found feedback, on pages two and four of his vendor feedback, from buyers claiming to have been scammed. Page Two and Page Four. One person (new buyer account) claimed to have lost $8000 on a custom order. On the other hand, I found positive feedback for a custom order worth more then $80,000 from a solid buyer account, so I'm really not sure what to believe. I found this forum thread with multiple people claiming scam, but that could be the work of a revival vendor(s).

I wanted to give everyone a heads up just in case something is up. I will update this thread with my experience, and I will post a completely new thread if I have further reason to believe he is a scammer.

You'll probably be fine. Its a good thing that you didn't FE. If he doesn't ship your order, just dispute it, and provide screens of his FE request to the mods when they settle the order dispute. Obviously its fishy for him to ask you to FE on a non-FE listing before he will ship your order.

Good looking out with posting this. There is always the chance that he is the owner of some of the buyer accounts, and just transfers his own cash to the buyer account for ordering large $$$ orders. This way, not only could he pad his reviews, but he's doing so on LARGE orders for a lot of money, which might sway some people into ordering/FE with him for smaller orders worth much less.

"Well, this guy FE'd for an $8,000 order, and it came through, so I see no problem in FE'ing my $700 order!"

That's crafty, methodical, manipulative, creative, and that makes me feel really uncomfortable. I'm very glad I do business with the same vendors for months now and have no need to find anyone new.
