Box vs Envelope for weed

To test the waters, I've ordered about 10 grams each from different vendors. Some sent it in a box, others in an envelope. By envelope, I mean the big thick priority cardboard envelopes.

In my opinion, the envelope is a bad idea. I don't want anyone to be able to finger-fuck a package and figure out what it is.

Sure this may be paranoia, but add up (1) light, lumpy but squishy contents, (2) printed labels with stamps, (3) sent from a legal state.

I assume those vendors used envelopes because of the small quantity. To be fair, I suppose a box could be worse stealth because of the very light weight. But if I got something like an ounce in an envelope I would 0/5 so fast. Does that ever happen?

Is there a cut-off for box vs envelope?

Got an ounce in a priority envelope. Could definitely feel it through the package. Product was slightly crushed, you could see the trichomes smashed into the foodsaver bag. I would always prefer the small priority box. No need to 0/5

a box not fit in a mailbox

The envelopes are not my favorite. Even with non-squishy shit, they have a risk of getting punctured. Anytime there is anything of any sort of "dimension", it can get torn, simply by another box sliding up into it. I've had a decent number of priority envelopes arrive with various tears and holes. And the shit I order isn't even squishy.

Priority Box vs Envelope

Cost of package: Same (free)

Postage: Same

Package strength: Box is better

Stealth: Box is better (can't feel anything)

So what am I missing? I just can't understand why some of them use Priority envelopes in the first place. Maybe they're trying to save 15sec it takes to fold the box?

I prefer box. I've had 2 zips in an envelope with a fucking stamp and the seal was coming undone. I have had a priority envelope come with the entire side tore off. If the decoy wasn't present I'd have been fucked

I've recieved QPs in Tyvek envelopes and it was the worst. Not that you could really figure out what was inside but the fact that everything was mashed to bits was annoying. If you are shipping flowers then use a box or don't be a vendor.

I haven't heard of an oz sent in an envelope since SR1 so I wouldn't worry about that. I've had more trouble with vendors using oversized boxes that don't fit in the mailbox actually.

I've gotten significant amounts of weed in extremely small packages. It's all kinda based on how you pack it.

you can always feel weed through envelopes. even through cardboard and vaccum seal layers. and its also feels pretty similar when its wrapped in foil and vaccuum sealed. however, boxes would not fit in UK letter boxes, envelopes will which is way more convenient. the postmen can't just look at mail either so its cool

Envelops are a sure fit into almost any mailbox. That's why I use envelops. But I don't slap the goodies in there just like that, I use 2 pieces of -not too thin- cardboard smaller than the envelop. I place them on top of each other and I staple one end, then a slide back the other end of one of the 2 pieces to create a bulge big enough for the content but not too big to fit the envelop. Then I tape the content inside the bulge. It's not perfect but it makes it a bit less easy to identify what's inside and if you're worried about piercing the envelop, use a bubble coated one. It's kind of an in between solution.

I stopped ordering from OregonGrown because of the envelopes.
