Why fentanyl products need to be banned from being sold on all markets

I, as much as anyone, argue that that there is a time and place for any drug, and everyone should have access to any drug they chose to put in their body, but I'm sure all of us here know of the ongoing fentanyl crisis in United States. Fentanyl is not normally sold directly to the end customer as fentanyl. This is because it is cheap, dangerous, and is subjectively less enjoyable than other drugs. These characteristics relegate its market to street resellers. These individuals take the fentanyl and put it in their cut heroin, and sell it to unaware customers. These customers are ultimately what drive the wholesale sales, where the markets make lots of money. These customers die as a result of the fentanyl, which ultimately hurts every market.

Even if markets don't care about the people dying, it still hurts their income when people do

Fent vendors should have to boof a gram of it to be able to sell it.

"People cut drugs with fent, so let's ban fent. That'll stop the cut drugs." If you want people to not get cut substances and die, you wanna know what the solution is? Legalization, regulation, taxation.

Isn't it kind of contrary to the whole ideal of this market thing to prevent a user from accessing the drugs they desire to use? Isn't that kind of what the government is doing to us by making drugs illegal?

People are going to scam, whether they are stealing money outright or doing a bait and switch. Perhaps there just needs to be more regulation on scammers and pressed pills, if that is possible. I have noticed that there are more pressed pills being sold as the real thing than say, a year ago. There has to be a way to put an end to it because it is fucked up. Maybe require that pharms vendors send their products for testing before being able to vend on a market? It is not fent that is the problem, it is dishonest vendors. However I am not so keen on some of these fent analogues that are going around like that bio-weapon 'car-fent', so if anything has to get banned it should be substances that are as toxic as they are psychoactive.

I think it is a vendor/market regulation issue, not a substance access issue. If we blame the fent, then we are just using the same logic the government is imo.

" and is subjectively less enjoyable than other drugs." false. it is more enjoyable

Meh, i enjoy cheap oxys pressed with fent. Much cheaper.

I agree it should be banned....but alphabay isn't gonna do it.

How do you feel about Pharmacy made Lollipops and stick on patches?

[1 Points] 3bun:

It's a nice idea but is it really going to stop anyone from getting fent? Trillions and trillions spent by professional organisations trying to prevent users getting access to drugs. Did it ever really work to stop the flow of drugs? I think this idea is definately in the right place but I think it can cause a lot more harm than good.

If anything we should promote the use of the DNMs of users where vendors cant get away with selling fent as easily.

[1 Points] pooppooppants:

I don't see why it needs to be banned. I think everything should be available. Some people want fent and that's okay. However, I don't think that vendors should cut their products with fent. That's why buyers of substances need to test their drugs.

[1 Points] Tired8281:

A ban won't work. All the people who have fent on hand will sell it as heroin or something else, and more people will die.

[1 Points] NoDrugsYesPizza:

Prohibition doesn't work no matter how hard you try.

[1 Points] pap3rw8:

How many retail-level heroin dealers actually cut their product themselves with fentanyl that they ordered online? I would guess that the number is very small. The big drug rings get their fentanyl in bulk from China via Mexico.

The thing is, we dont know if fent from the darknet is a causal relationship with the ODs that are currently taking place.
