Just sharing my subpar experience so far with having to deal with my local post office. Basically I opened a PO box recently, paid for it, signed all the paperwork, the works and I was told I would now be able to have mail sent there starting today. PERFECT! So I put through an order right after having set it up the box because what better way to christen a PO box right? Vendor chosen is known for fast delivery and have ordered from him previously and received in 2-3 days to the same area as the PO box. Fast forward 4 days after being marked shipped and nothing. I think "Ehhhh maybe the vendor was just backed up this time. I'm sure it'l be here soon". Fast forward another 5 days and still nothing! Been in contact with the vendor since around the 7 day mark so I know he probably isn't scamming me if he's willing to go through the effort of checking tracking so something odd is going on. I go to the post office today (9th day marked shipping) and ask if there is any mail that may not have been sorted, sitting in the back for me. The lady goes to check in the back and come back to ask me for the name on the box then proceeds to tell me that my name hasn't been associated with the PO box yet. All mail sent to me, including my beloved first package, for the past 2 weeks had been returned to sender because the monkey who processed my PO box on day one was too stupid to change the box to my name instead of the previous owner. Morale of the story is if something seems wrong with your PO box, then it's definitely the post office's fault.
TL;DR Post office sucks at paperwork and left me an anxious mess for a week.
Probably should have sent some mail to the box for a couple weeks like everyone on the sub recommends, instead of being that guy who orders illegal drugs to his brand new PO box. You shouldn't have to, but you SHOULD KNOW YOU OUGHT TO
