SheepMarket - Any news?

Seeing all the complains about Bitcoin falling, it made me a bit nostalgic about the high rise back in `13.

I remember, 200$ rising to 600$ within some days, and then sheep closed shop.

Gabral Khan is not active here any more, but he had some interesting theories. Any news on that front? u/gwern , u/the_avid ?

Khan and the avid never post here any more

He started a new marketplace, https://anonymoustrade.com/ (It also has a .onion link). I wouldn't spend my coins there unless you wanna be scammed again.

Ha ha!

SheepRoadReloaded2 chased him through the blockchain, into the bitcoinfog tumbler. No wonder his cheeks are pink!

That was Sheeproad's first "blockchase". The British Tor Vendor's Association use his services to this day. Its hard to convince him, then when he starts you can't stop him.

In November 2013, I got a message to look at a particular wallet REALLY early in the morning. "Hurry up! Quick! Watch this!"

"What? Why am I looking at this wallet?"

"Its 96,000 bitcoins that I just followed through a tumbler called bitcoinfog, clicking on 3 wallets a minute for 6 hours. Ive got square eyes and Im dying for a piss. And I just realized that I could have waited then done it in 20 minutes!"

On blockchain.info. Sheepmarkets bitcoin was just sitting there with 5 or 6 confirmations.

"You see that? I'm pointing my phone at the QR code. He thinks he lost me. Any moment now he's going to shit himself"

A 0.000666 btc deposit appeared on my laptop screen with "unconfirmed", followed seconds later by a 96,000 btc withdrawal.

I watched for a couple of hours in real time. Then I logged into bitcoinfog, opened a support ticket and gave them hell, because they didn't charge commission for sheepmarketplace, and they had gone down a couple of days before, then said "tumbling will be commission-free for a week as an apology".

Sheeproadreloaded2 realized that the market owner had paid upfront to use the bitcoinfog tumbler for a week, and they'd gone offline to remove the commission randomizer because he didn't like odd numbers or fractions of bitcoin.

Bitcoinfog admins gave a very good and lengthy answer which made me quite like them. When I first moved to agora about a year ago I spoke to admin. The marketplace was tiny before SR2 stole the escrow, and after a good chat I realized that it was the same individual who replied in bitcoinfog a couple of months earlier.

So SheepMarketplace's owner is still alive? We heard different.

You have no idea what sheeproadreloaded2 has done for us in the last year. I think he's the reason marketplaces have stopped robbing everyone. Agora completely changed the way it handles bitcoin after he pointed out their commission wallet on this forum.

Bitcoin stops at agora's door now. All the internal escrow stuff is just maths, like casino chips that are changed back into bitcoin when a vendor withdraws. That's what caused all agora's wallets to become disconnected from your balance a few months ago.

The work he did for us back in february, I'm convinced, is what nailed Defcon. That's not even the big one.

The wallet that's going to put MTGOX's owner in jail has a load of payments in it between 1 and 26 that spell something. That was SheepRoadReloaded2 exceeding his remit.I think he regrets it now and they're on the blockchain for ever. But what he wrote is true.
