[Vendor Directory] Opinions needed.

There is a discussion on DNMA about creating a vendor directory or a marketplace/directory hybrid if another market goes down. http://avengersdutyk3xf.onion/index.php?topic=579.0 I created this post to gather information about what DNM users want to see next.

[OPTION 1] Vendor Directory. <link removed>

[OPTION 2] Vendor Directory / Marketplace Hybrid. http://thearkkrmmaa6tbl.onion/directory.php

Option 2 is about leaving the contact address of the vendor on the website so the customer can contact the vendor anytime. With this option, a link is made to a review page on DNMA/Reddit/TheHub/Nulled. The vendor is able to let customers know what they are offering, if they accept directs deals or escrow services and if they allow contact over DN markets or alternative ways.

Question 1: Vet and verify the vendor before we add it to the directory? If so, what are the requirements? or just add the vendor and place a link to a review page?

Question 2: Force vendors to use a specific communication method? Like TorBox or XMPP? Or just let them self decide what kind of method they prefer to use?

Question 3: Added a new column named ''Alert''. Should we list scammers or not?

Question 4: Most important question of all. Do we need a website like this? Is it useful?

Start the discussion and let me know what you guys think.

Update! By receiving opinions from people I decided to go for option 2.

*Edit! Directory temporary offline, updating to Tor v3.

This is the only thing that has always been needed lol. a vendor directory where you can choose to dd or locate on market or alt escrow service ect. where is the link? i want to check this out. I bet vendors would even pay a small amount to remain listed.

Gonna need something like this for OpenBazaar2.0 soon...

This would be crazy useful, at least for me. It would take some work to get up and running obviously but I think the concept is very much needed. Could you PM me the links?

Little update, with the opinions received, I decided to go for option 2.

I think at this point in time having a vendor directory is more of a necessity. I was thinking it would be a directory though and just that. A place where vendors can list their names, wares, markets/forums frequented, DD info, and contact information for customers. Therefore the only verifications would be to check markets, vendor review page and verify a pgp signed message.

The buyer and vendor have no need to communiate on the directory and no deals would go through it. Vendors would pay a much smaller fee than the markets for a listing with all their info and if a market goes offline those people on that market would have the contact information they need. A seperate sub-menu could house suspected/selective scammers if there is a valid way to verify when buyers say they got scammed. Having an up to date vendor directory is long overdue. Grams has been doing whatever the fuck it is they do, close to nothing, for some time now and is far from current.

Backtracking, it could imitate grams and charge a minimal fee for buyers to help reduce the amount of angry buyers and competition screaming scammer. I'd pay $5-10 again and again for a place to be able to verify PGP keys and read reviews all in one before working with vendors, and just know if the platform I'm using to communicate goes offline I can easily find another way to contact said vendor.
