[CommunityDiscussion] Vendors of the world, unite! and take control of your own community.

TLDR:

Vendors need to own the market as a cooperative/empire.

Vendors that buyers trust, can trust/police other vendors.

Market owned and regulated by the community that relies upon it.

The alternative is to continue with Groundhog Day.

The thing about all this fuss is that all these vendors just don't really seem to understand what real power they have.

There are entrepreneurs I saw in the EVO thread last night crying who have built up large businesses and have great respect. Some people have lost life changing amounts which is sad.

The fact they had that amount of money (look at the young German lad with ALL THOSE DRUGS) is startling. Vendors need to turn to each other, and stop FFS saying 'where now lol, pls no Agora m8 lol'

If EVO had >10Million or whatever turning over in a week or so, that is a HUGE AMOUNT of purchasing power, and easily enough to cover the costs of collectively developing/maintaining a vastly superior market and hopefully keeping safe.

Drugs are all about choices and if customer trusted vendors all can't choose trust each other as fellow vendors, nor as business partners then they might as well all be wandering around in real life with a gun and some drugs.

It's pretty clear it's not possible to trust these outside saviours, coming to rescue you from the last market that crashed with all your coins.

The only way for darknet vendors to thrive is to unite together, is for vendors to take responsibility for the fundamental problem that the existing ecosystem presents.

Markets should be in essence transparent and trustworthy for everyone and make your SHOPPING EXPERIENCE a good one, like many popular ecommerce sites. That would be cool. Markets are not cool. They are not open.

By and large, online dealers are friendly and competent, they want to sell you drugs and not have any bother. They also have a vested interest in other dealers not fucking you about giving everyone a bad name.

That's why top vendors have custom wanting to pay top dollar for dealing with someone that will not fuck them about. That custom follows, it is loyal.

Any one the big Euro/American sellers, or any number of smaller vendors/collectives could make this happen. The rewards would be astronomical.

Trustworthy vendors want to vend alongside others and will also follow and comply with more stringent rules in order to sell there alongside good vendors to good buyers safely.

It would be trivial to find a few good weed shops, some benzos, ecstasy, decent acid, an online pharmacy etc..

Then you have a pretty decent site. Making money in 'tributes' for various website based services separately and visibly to all.

Vendors selling make a separate and % of all sales as part owner in site.

Being a buyer should not be so easy, a modest joining fee held in escrow to cover buyers scamming decent vendors.

The problem is getting/running this site is it's hard. But that's life. It cannot be that hard, otherwise a load of fuckwits wouldn't have been able to do it so far.

There are millions of dollars at stake here, how long before it's billions?

The key to the successful market is trust, escrow in particular, and ensuring nobody is ever in the position of wondering if they should steal >10mil.

Building this into a market will revolutionise DNM, though escrow is a complex subject ...there are certainly very workable solutions.

Some other features that would be interesting to see in a vendor led marketplace, depending how it was structured:

There is vastly more money to be made running a marketplace than selling on it.

But there's far more than that available by stealing the float (if able to steal)

Vendors are vested in continuing vending in their own community. 'Foreign' owners are only vested in not getting caught and/or stealing the coins.

The answer is to ensure that all vendors own and run their own marketplace, and nobody can remove more coins from the economy than they own.

The marketplace as described above is desirable only really to legit vendors and

It's inevitable that one form of shared ownership will prevail at least for a period along the (excuse the pun here) evolution of DNMs. The question is how and who, and will a few large vendors/collective take over and create barriers to entry, or even collude.

It's the vendor(s) with the best collaborative scheme that can take a viable product to market with broad vendor backing fairly soon that will triumph.

Even if a new 'old' market, or people move to an existing, lesser market- there will be a vendor owned marketplace and it will take over rapidly.

If anyone would like to discuss more, please do.

It seems like this is next logical step. I feel like after sr1 and the others went down that people just assumed they would have to move onto the next market. I'm thinking everyone has been doing this long enough now let's move this into a realm where the community controls it.
