Hello there doesn't seem to be a lot of information on utilizing ETH on DNs right now. I am holding some bitcoins, and with the current price shiftening and with ETH being added to AB, i would like to convert some BTC to ETH.
Are there any wallets that people have had success in running on Tails at the moment? Or can etherwallet or another site provide a way for me to spend ether? I was thinking of tumbling my coins and then using shapeshift to a new ETH address.
also, would a hardware wallet like the TREZOR / Ledger nano S be capable of holding ETH without compromising my identity? If there was an app that could be used over tor/tails or a website accessible from those to generate addresses/spend ETH , would a hardware wallet be alright to use alongside such an app? I was planning on getting one anyway for BTC/Electrum.
Theres very little info out there besides waiting for zk-snarks. i just want to get started
I can answer your question about the hardware wallet. I own and use a Ledger Nano S. The wallet is generated offline, and the private key never leaves the device (unless you use your passphrase anywhere other than the device). It's a hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallet, and thus it follows the BIP 0032 protocol for every currency that supports it. This means you can generate an unlimited number of public addresses all pointing to the same wallet, which is awesome for anonymity.
MyEtherWallet should be compatible with TOR, and it is capable of fully interacting with the Ledger Nano S, as well as a few other hardware wallets. You can use it to send Ether and generate new addresses pointing to your hardware wallet's private key.
Unless you fuck up, your identity should be concealed.
