Why aren't there any more Darknet email providers since Sigaint disappeared?

It would be simple enough to run one, is it actually illegal? Would the fed's actually pursue something like this? I feel like we are running out of safe methods of communication.

Also to the mod who tagged this: in my defense, I've tried every single provider on the super list. The only one that is fully functional is guerrilla mail and they only have temporary email addresses. the only one on the superlist that I was able to get to work didn't even offer 2-FA via pgp key.

Yes, I think it'd be illegal depending how you market it. Ie "new annon email for all your DNM needs" <=illegal. And yes feds would pursue an email service. If it's got high rollers using it/and/or you don't cooperate.
