Tor on university wireless?

I am a college student, and am wondering whether anyone will notice/get suspicious enough to jeopardize my security if I use tor a fair amount (to order, finalize, send messages...you know, the usual stuff) on my university internet account. I have been using local coffeeshops up till now, but that is just a pain in the ass

Awhile back a story popped up about a guy who used TOR to swat someone from his Uni. They found him because they were able identify who was accessing TOR from their network at that time. So keep in mind the anonymity is only as good as the number of people using it at the time. Sure they may not isolate you at random, but if something goes down you may find yourself under the miceoscope.

Use a VPN to hide Tor access, it's not very likely that they have specific checks for the use of Tor at a University anyway. At the end of the day Tor is legal and you are simply browsing the internet anonymously, they can't see what you are doing unless they have remote monitoring on Uni computer sessions. If it's your own device then you're good though.

If you're that worried I'm sure there's a Starbucks by your university you could use.

College network admin here. I know schools have different policies about it, but we (and what I know of our closest peers) couldn't care less about TOR usage. We can go back quite some time and find out where/when you were connected, but after a month or so we wouldn't have specific details of your network traffic.

I used to do it via a uni wired network last year with SR2. Never had any issues and used it regular enough. Dunno if this will be the case for everyone though

My buddy goes to school in DC and he goes to starbucks to order from DNMs. A lot of schools monitor internet activity. But then again I have been on DNMs at my university and have yet to get in trouble.
