Is it safe to track orders using TOR?

I am waiting for an order that should have arrived by now. The vendor gave me a tracking number when they marked it as shipped. I have read on this subreddit and market forums that tracking a package using TOR will 'raise a flag' with the order and increase the likelihood of it being intercepted. Is this true, and if it is, how should I go about tracking the order?

I've heard it gets your package flagged. Makes sense since a lot of sites ban TOR users easily so I wouldn't advise it.

I've tracked it on tor before. I don't think it is a terrible idea, but it would be wiser to use public wifi and a third party site.

IMO I don't think it's ever a good idea to track a darknet package in any way unless it has been a long time since it has gone missing. A couple of weeks from when it was shipped at least. It kind of kills your plausible deniability if you use clearnet from your IP, so if you must track it go somewhere else.

Although I recommend against it, I've tracked on Tor before (also have had vendors track packs I'm assuming using Tor) without being flagged. That being said, I like to use public wifi locations and clearnet if at all possible. All Tor exit nodes are basically available in public ledger/DB, therefore it'd be easy for sites to determine if a user is using Tor - leading to the possibility of USPS being able to flag users tracking via Tor.. however wether they are utilizing the possibilities is still under debate.
