Ethics is more subjective so you cant have an empirically correct answer. OTOH, Alcohol, nicotine, tobacco and even caffeine(coffee) kill many more people than ALL ILLEGAL DRUGS COMBINED. Also Heroin is beneficial to many people in many different ways. Its a popular painkiller, can help with depression, enduce empathy in some circumstances. I think the missuse and abuse is what gives it a bad rap, along with the impurities and cuts found in street H and clandestinely synthesized Heroin. Pharmaceutical-grade Heroin(diamorphine) has been praised since the 19th century and is said to be LESS TOXIC than Sugar.(Source needed) Not sure what the LD50 is off-hand but IMO its not the dealers fault if the user kills themselves or OD's accidently. If a dealer is masquerading Fentynl or ACE or something as heroin and it kills the innocent user, then I believe the seller has some ethical issues in that particular case. But Liquor stores don't get in trouble for drunk drivers or Alcohol overdose/withdrawl so it would be logically inconsistent to treat Heroin users/abusers/addicts and dealers like its their fault, if the intentions were not purposefully malicious.

Nutmeg is nearly as lethal as heroin. Anything can be "lethal" if you take enough. Some people with diseases and pain use heroin as a painkiller. It's their body.
Their body, their choice. It's that simple.
