Moving to a major metro area...question about shipping

Hey f(r)iends...

So I'm shortly going to be moving to a major metro area...think LA or NYC...and I'm going to be moving to a more "residential" neighborhood, no skyscrapers or anything. I saw the NY USPS bust post, but I'm wondering about small purchases; do you guys normally get them on/ahead of shipping time? Should I rent a mailbox somewhere or is my 3 family house okay? I know mailmen change routes frequently, but aside from not getting my delivery during normal drop off times, should I watch out for anything?

Let a dude know...I'm just trying to live.

I live in a city. It's all good as long as you read up on reviews of vendors and choose good ones like always. If anything, I always think that populated areas are safer as there are more packages needed to get out on a deadline to people thereby making inspections less of a factor.

On the bright side you get a better selection of private business mailbox options.

I'm in one of the top 5 largest cities, in a residential neighborhood 2 miles from downtown. Never had an issue sending them to my house

Generally the bigger tg the city the lower the risk due to sheer volume. Letter carriers rarely remember names or faces let alone both that belong to a certain address.

The best part is you're going to be by a major airport and perhaps by a sort facility. That means you'll be getting stuff faster than a lot of people. Won't come overnight but much more likely to actually show up on time.

You should have no issues living in a large city. In fact, I think its better b/c you are probably closer to a USPS distro center which means you'll get your package quicker! I like in a large US city as well and have no issues. I don't think you need to do anything special than you'd normally do living anywhere else.

I think you'd be fine ordering to your home. If you go the PO Box route, do some research on "seeding" your box with mail. That's why I don't generally do drops, I dont' feel I know enough to do it "right". There will be busts. That happens and large or small city, doesn't really matter. Just practice normal Opsec and you should be fine. And just for comparison, I've read about busts in smaller cities as well, so it just doesn't happen in bigger cities.

The good thing is big cities get a shit ton of mail. So I think you'll have an ever so slightly less chance of interception. Also, your mailman probably has a ton of people on his route, he isn't going to be paying attention to you or what you receive.

Enjoy!
