So I have a buddy who works in the local post office and handles the inbound and outboud packages. He and I always talk about the stuff that comes in, if he's ever smelled drugs, etc.
The other day, the local PD came in w/ a canine unit. My friend had no idea what was going on since he never saw this before (he's been working there for 8 years). Here is the funny part, there was a pack coming in, and he knew which one it was. There was really no way of hiding it or having the dog avoid it, so he was getting nervous. Obviously this pack has no ties to him but he was nervous for the receiving party. Dog was walking all throughout the back, sniffing each of those big rolling bins. He comes up to the one that has the package in it (weed is in the package btw).
Hits nothing.
My friend was rejoicing big time and couldn't handle how close it was.
Thought you guys would find this interesting. I won't name the vendor just because of the possible "shill" posts but its good to know these vendors can actually pull off a K9 search.
People really put too much faith into police dogs. I have a dog, and he licks his ass and his weird lookin weiner for hours at a time. He enjoys sniffing other dog butts and humping pillows. He munches on dead birds he finds and once ate an exstacy tablet I threw up after I tried swallowing it.
Don't get me wrong they do get it right sometimes, but I mean c'mon. They're probably more interested in the smell of cheetos. The sound of a vacuum cleaner is terrifing to dogs. They are literally all autist.
