Holy shit is bitcoin slow tonight.

I have never seen this before honestly. I set the miner fees to maximum and here we are 4 hours later and not a single confirmation. Wtf is going on here? I have seen slow but this is underwater.

Meh. There's only 30k transactions in the queue. Go to bed and it'll be there by morning.

Yeah odd, I sent a coin through when it was on 40k unconfirmed. 30 minutes and it was there.

How large was your transaction? If it had a lot of inputs it might have been larger than an average transaction and therefore needed a higher fee.

The size of the fee depends on how many bytes your transaction is.

The following links might be helpful. :)

On the last link you need to scroll down a tiny bit and look under "Which fee should I use?".

And may I ask what wallet you used? Because if you used a wallet where you control the keys, like Electrum or Mycelium for example. The Bitcoins are still yours and you could cancel the transaction.

Its important to remember that as long as the Bitcoins you broadcasted aren't confirmed they still belong to you.

Hmm I did a few transactions earlier and they all took abnormal amount of time maybe 30 minutes for 3 confirms? Just cooked some food and it was done

There is no such thing. Use a wallet that lets you actually set the fee. Pay a half a buck more than "maximum" and you'll be in the next block.

I had to wait for 3 days from last thursday to sunday to get 1 confirmation with my usual fees
