So I think I got a CD attempt today, but given the fact it was July 4th just a few days ago I wonder if I could have turned a pack away over paranoia.
Several suspicious vehicles + exected delivery had me thinking I was about to get a knock on the door. Sure enough, 15 minutes later I get a knock. Guy in jeans and a t shirt, claims to be a contractor hired to help USPS get caught up, gives me cop vibes, and he seemed nervous, shaking significantly, although he may have been scared of an animal on the premises. Also, he knocked twice, and quite loudly.
Told him I wasn't expecting any package from whereever that came from( international, should be no signature required, vendor used no return address) And told him to go ahead and return to sender. He quickly and easily accepted this answer. regular mail was delivered 10 minutes later.
Has anyone else seen private contractors used in july? My gut screams cop/CD, but then I feel concerned that maybe I was wrong, and now I RTS an item with my name on it that doesnt even have a return address.
Contractors do exist and I see many around me in regular cars and mini vans helping out. Probably a no issue but better safe then sorry. Always go with your gut
