Ketamine and Depression

I was reading my Psychology assignment today and came upon this.

There is also research examining the potential use of ketamine as an antidepressant due to its apparent ability to have the immediate antidepressant effects and reduction of suicidal thoughts. The effects are not permanent, but its effects can come on within a few hours and last for several days, and up to a week in some individuals.

Is there anyone that has used ketamine for depression purposes that can attest to this? I have a very close friend that has been battling suicidal depression for the longest time. They have tried everything from pharmaceutical meds to counseling. I would just like to try this out and see if it works. I have read some of the posts in /r/ketamine and would just like to ask if anyone on here has any experiences with the drug. I know next to nothing about Ketamine so any info will help. Thanks :)

Yes, there is a good r/drugs post just on treating repression with Ketamine in low doses. They are working on nasal sprays already (medically and legally). The key is to not use recreational but small doses. Recreational doses definitely help with depression too but small doses are much more efficient at treating depression.

You're probably better off asking in /r/drugs, though just searching will give you tons of answers as well.

On a side note, do all dissos share anti-depressant properties? speaking about 3-meo-pcp/dck/o-pce/mxe and so on...

I actually just got done with a cycle of it. seemed to help a little bit. if he is really suicidal have him try it thats the reason i tried it. They say out of 2/3 people it helps i beleive.

I have intermittent bouts of clinical depression. I have only once touched k. I have found that MDMA in the right setting a couple times a year helps.
