Post office wanting local address?

Just got a PO box at the USPS down the road. I used my out of town address when filling out the forums. But I just got a call asking for my local address. I gave him my real one like an idiot. Is this normal for them to be asking for my local address?

First off, why do they have your phone number? Second, why didn't you lie?

At the end of the day, it all boils down to what you're ordering and in what quantities. If you can provide some feedback on that, we may be able to give you some advice/guidance moving forward.

PM me if you'd like.

It's not like if something happens they can't find your local address anyway. You're good.

Well you should never lie to the post office when opening a po box because if they find out your shipping drugs they will either just close your box if its small amounts but if its larger amount the police will probably wait for you to pick up then arrest you. Now your charged with drugs and lying to a government run agency which is a good amount of extra time. Its not like the po is gonna call you and say "hey we found drugs in your box never come here again". Plus if your in police custody they will figure out your address.

Probably nothing to be alarmed about. Curious though, because I registered my PO Box about 60 minutes away from where I was living. Not for any opsec reason, just because I worked and lived near the box more often than not.

Yea, it is 100% normal. PO boxes are not supposed to be anonymous. You'll be fine, tho

Yea when you signed up you were supposed to give a local. I tried to give the lady my out of town and she had me start the paper work over.
