[OPSEC/Computer] Is this setup secure?

The post by 'Hizonner' is what im interested in. Could someone explain why he thought putting the third computer a 'good distance away from your physical location'? Also, what is a 'good distance'?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

someone should probably document that setup properly. if you don't want the physical isolation, you can also replicate it with two vm's on a machine and then a firewall.

if you want a quick setup, just install virtualbox + whonix

it's almost always a good idea to have a good firewall on your local network if you're high risk DNM or have advanced adversaries. the problem is that there is no generic software to just installed, you have to know what you're setting up and how to set it up.

I would worry less about the computer purchases. Just don't buy them online, don't get them delivered and buy them in person. There is no way to link a MAC address to security camera footage so don't worry about that - just don't be that weird guy who shop personnel remember because you were all awkward and weird when buying a computer.
