OPSEC Tip for you: Burner wifi hotspots

How to remain anonymous on the dark net? That's a million dollar question!

Burner wifi hotspot devices can be purchased and activated with pre-paid data without supplying real information or verifying any of the information.

For example, one device that works well is the Verizon Jetpack. Costs about 40 bucks, and 10 GB of data over 2 months costs an additional 60. Bonus points if you pay someone else to buy it for you, like a random homeless person. Or pay someone from Craigslist to do it.

I used these to remain anonymous during my vending career, which recently ended so I am sharing some tips.

Used together with TAILS, even IF the extremely unlikely event that your real IP and/or MAC is leaked, it's just the IP of a burner device and spoofed MAC. And you can take the device with you anywhere, verizon in particular has great coverage. Just make sure you ONLY use the device with TAILS, and only access the internet using Tor. Never use the device for anything related to your real identity or connect to it using other devices.

Am I the only one who uses public wifi spots? Like, how do people not do this every time they're on the darknet? Just lazy? I guess it's good people are lazy, more low hanging fruit to keep them busy and away from me.

One word. Triangulation. It doesn't matter if it's just a burner if they can figure out your location based on the cell signal itself.

As usual people should consider their own unique situation and decide whether this method improves their security. Definitely a huge improvement for anyone who is just using their home network or whatever wifi network is available.

If you have a VPN set up at the router level to conceal your Tor activity from your ISP, I would say that is a step above this method, but this method seems pretty solid for when you are on the go. Way better than tethering with your smart phone

you should only have the hotspot turned on away from home because of cell tower tracking.

You are an expert in the field. Keep up the good work. Cheers mate.

Doxx r us and you used to be a vendor... tf? Lol

[2 Points] DraginByU:

Or you could just spend 5 on a DNM and get Comcast logins for life. No extra hardware needed. You get like 15 for $5

Yeah. This is for a Vendor who shouldn't be vending. Real junkies are running a nice qubes whinox VB where sys-net is tunneled through a 256bit encrypted VPN then accessing their anon-box or kali-box through that sys-net config. And they always 'plug-in' no wireless shit

1-2-3-4-5? That's the stupidest MAC address I ever heard in my life! That's the kind of MAC address an idiot would have on his router!

[1 Points] rcthrowaway45:

How is that different from mobile IPs that are shared by countless people because they're only a few sets of IPs everybody uses?

[1 Points] Dinahs:

If any of this was new to you, just quit now.

Okay Unity

Why not just use a VPN?
