Police seize 1,180 guns, 6 million bullets in massive online gun ring bust

Late last week, Chinese police seized 1,180 guns and more than 6 million bullets after having discovered an online gun ring earlier this year which involved at least 18 (very well-armed) people.

During a random inspection back in April, police found a package which contained an assortment of gun components, and over the course of the next seven months, police uncovered an online gun selling operation which had been operating since 2012, and which operated using a U.S. server.

According to Xinhua, police estimate that since 2012, the gun ring made more than 4 million yuan ($625,537) in profit.

Probably darknet related, given that nobody sells guns out in the open.

$625,000 a year split between 18 people isn't that much money. Is ~$34,700 a year really worth that kind of risk?

Wowza I thought guns were heavily controlled in CHina, how did they get their hands on so many?

[1 Points] None:

I take it that $600,000 is worth a lot there?

Chinese people throw themselves into heavy risks due to anti gambling laws across the country. Taiwan is the only "part of China" that allows casinos and the mainland has absolutely none. It's the reason the average Chinese citizen is so active on the stock market.

Makes for very risky times just like a banned casino, and what's more riskier than betting your freedom against a large ass pile of shiny shiny bitcoins for some illegal gats from old mate chin lung around the corner?

ima just keep this robe on.
