Received text msg

I'm gonna use SWIM even tho this shit ain't me. IDGAF what you think I just want to hear how this fucking occurs to someone.

Somehow SWIM received a text message from a # giving their full name, an address somewhat close to them, and other information claiming they knew they were reeving "suspicious" packages - aka the person knew they had been receiving drugs in the mail.

SWIM always used PGP when sending any information.

SWIM always posted on here with throwaway's with TOR.

Now here's where shit could've gone wrong for SWIM.

SWIM used Windows 7 for everything. Most likely a cause. Obviously TAILS is a better solution but SWIM was lazy.

SWIM used the application SureSpot once to communicate with a vendor. Even though it's labeled as a Peer to Peer messaging client with encryption there could possibly still be a security flaw.

This person could very well be reading this fucking thread, and somehow they managed to dox SWIM.

I personally am just wondering how this can fucking happen to someone, SWIM just told me and is spooked out their fucking mind. I honestly have no fucking clue how this actually happens to someone using precautions such as PGP.

Is it possible a vendor leaked information?

There's no way this is LE either because they would just show up at your door, why would they bother with these kind of BS scare tactics?

Puts on tinfoil hat

Edit: SWIM also just revealed that they mentioned these activities to "a friend", and that they are acting weird now. This "friend" claims to have received said text messages as well. SWIM believes it might be his landlord for whatever odd reason, but may be just spooked at the moment.

Lol. You answered your own question. There is no sophisticated hack, MITM attack, Trojan, PGP cracking. The simplest answer is almost always the right answer. Before your edit, I was going to say a vendor you ordered from easily got your identifying info from address provided. But you told a friend. Who is acting weird. Punch that friend in the nuts.

SWIM thinks you are a fuck head. can the automod not delete posts with SWIM

I feel like there's important information being left out here.

What exactly do the texts say? I don't see a point to texting you just to say they know about your packages. Are they threatening to report you? Are they making demands? There has to be more to the story assuming it isn't just bullshit.

What do you mean by address "somewhat close"? It sounds to me like a scammer got ahold of a list of phone numbers of potential drug buyers. I'm thinking something like a user list from some drug related site, or possibly a trojan that identifies tor users.

If the address is in the same Zip+4, you can be sure they got you're address somehow, so it's probably a vendor or that friend fucking with you. If the address is just in the same phone service area, it's probably just a guess based on your exchange(xxx's in 202-xxx-1234), and that means all they have is you're phone number.

I'm leaning toward the friend or a random extorion attempt based on a list of numbers. How can a vendor be blackmailing you? I've never given my phone number to a vendor. I suppose these things could be found out, but it seems easier to run a blackmail scheme by sending letters.
