Is it Benzo Withdrawl

I'm a younger guy who suffers from extreme anxiety but could only ever get a prescription for SSRIs. I never found them useful so I decided to give xaxax a go and ordered about 30 pills. After about a week of amazing relief and feeling normal I ran out of pills. I decided that they where just a crutch and I should continue trying to eat healthy and stay active. I experienced no real withdrawal symptoms at first, I just felt all sketched out and self conscious again. It's about a week later and I am now having pretty intense back and chest pains, and I also had some sort of episode that awoke me from my sleep. Other than that I have a decreased appetite and maybe a slight headache. Is it possible to experience withdrawals after only a week of use, and a week after discontinuing use?

I'm currently going through clonazepam withdrawal and I've had similar symptoms...though a lot worse and more varied than that. You haven't been on it long, so hopefully the symptoms won't last long. I'd really reconsider wanting to be on them all the time. Eventually you'll have to up the dose to feel better, and you'll have to keep doing that...and one day you'll probably want off of them and will be where I'm at, which isn't currently all that great. I've heard withdrawing off of Xanax is worse, too, because of the much shorter half life. You might be better off with clean living and a good therapist. While I totally understand the despair of anxiety and depression, I really don't feel like the last fifteen years of miscellaneous drugs have done me many favors...or at least not in the long term. I've gotten better results by trying to clean up my lifestyle and I have a good therapist. To each his own, though. Good luck.

Short answer, no. Benzo withdrawal would generally result in rebound anxiety.

Long answer made short: maybe, but I doubt it.

i have a hard time with xanax. I only take it when it's absolutely necessary, otherwise, I'm shaky, bitchy and find my naturally ability to "deal with it" is diminished greatly the very next day. This is only after one time, not a month of it, too. I think benzo withdrawal, for me personally, would make me kill somebody. edit; I take zoloft daily in small dosage and it took about 6 months to 4 years before I noticed the significant change in my attitude and "ability to deal" it takes awhile for your system to adjust. I was scared to use xanax.

Do you smoke a lot of weed? I've had all the symptoms you described for the past few weeks and im not sure what it is.

I have only ever taken half a bar once a couple years ago, and I once had a short term Ativan script. I never really noticed any rebound or wd cause I took them occasionally. Last week I got some Xanax bars from your favourite ded guy and I took 5 or 6 over the course of 4-5 days. I gotta tell you -- im very sensitive to withdrawals from any habit forming physically addictive substance.. I've been thru heroin wds many times... The short amount of percieved rebound anxiety a day after not taking any bars has scared me enough to not go looking for the bars which I misplaced.

Xanax are fun as hell for a few days, and then just super great because you pop a bar and 10 min later you don't even remember what being a jittery ball of anxiety was... The kindling effect and fast habit forming nature of them is scary. Id rather do dope everyday than pop bars.

Keep a few on hand for opiate withdrawal, panic attacks, coming down from stims... The sleep you get off half a press bar is amazing feeling when you normally wouldn't get any, it's better than being awake and withdrawing when you could be conked out. But as a recreational drug they are dangerous as hell. The amnesia they give you is real. Your inhibitions fly out the window. Which is freeing and nice but have fun dealing with the anxiety about all the shit you did while barred out when you come down... Then pop another to make it go away.

Do yourself a favour and don't fuck with benzos.

Shouldn't really have withdrawals after a weeks usage also 30 pills in 7 days is quite a lot for your first time. If you were withdrawing you'd know from day 1 as xanax has a short half life 6-12 hours. Still keep an eye on it though. My friend recently was having a lot of chest and heart pains, went through all the scans turns out it was just prang/anxiety getting the better of him, so could be some rebound anxiety.

I went back on a 2 week xanax binge 3-6mg a day finishing with 1mg then 0.5mg. I had all withdrawal symptoms come back but not as long.
