if you go from btc to Dash, and instantly back again to btc on the same shift service, you could get the old ones back, or at least make it semi-easy to see that one amount when in to this site, and almost same amount came out some minutes later.
I heard many do a shapeshift and then transfer to an exchange to sell the new crypto to btc and withdraw, and then you should have btc that comes from an exchange. (one where you don't need verification for cryptotrading only).
If you are paranoid, you could do this over and over a couple of times, and if someone should look at this, it could just look like simple arbitrage trading (with a terrible profit). -Until its sent to a darknet market of course.

tumble the coins its better, you may get the same coins back with dash but the chances are very small, tumbling is still the best option
