Received warning message from admin on alphabay. sketched out.

I just received a message from ".admin." on alphabay saying "WARNING, your personal information has been published by another user on this link" ans then a link was provided. He had my name in the subject field. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

".admin" is FAKE I think. I've heard of him and "admin07" (possibly the same person) sending fake messages recently.

I got one from him telling me to use a different address for deposits, as mine was "compromised" lol. I ignored it and all is still well, they're just trying to SE you I would imagine.

I would assume if you were phished, the admin wouldnt message you to let you know, as they would have no way of knowing, especially the very link you used. And if there was somehow a way that they did know, they would tell you to withdraw your coins, rather than link a phishing site in a message.

Same shit happens on Nucleus all the time. Just delete and ignore it

dont ever open a link from someone else in any of those markets its unlikely any true support would ever send you a link. left alphabay because so many damn fishing attempts daily, and seemingly no crackdown on any of it.

LOL.. You really should be better at detecting scammers :)

But hope you will know from now on.

Its a shame that marketplaces doesn't have click through guide which you must read when you sign up, where they show examples of how most these scam attempts look like.

What kind of dumb fucking admins didn't block admin from names???

[1 Points] None:

DO NOT CLICK THE LINK! I'm sure thats obvious but it's clearly a phishing attempt

.admin. - There's a couple of clues there jeezus

Wait - he had your real name in the subject??? Or your username? If just username sounds like a typical phishing link. If he had your real name, then that's concerning. Have you always used PGP when ordering (not auto-PGP, pgp yourself)? If you've used auto pgp this is concerning Fornobvious reasons. However if you've always pgp I wonder if you could pinpoint the person behind the phishing link. This would mean a vendor you've ordered from is probably behind the phishing links. You have any suspicions who that could be? A vendor could be keeping names and then doing that shit. I bet that is what is going on. If you used auto-pgp then it could still be a vendor or worse, someone with access to the market and they are keeping plaintext records.

Anyway, do you always pgp yourself when you place an order?
