In theory, it goes like this:

  1. Log on to LibertyX website. You will need to be using a USA IP address to do this. You will need to provide name, email, and phone number. The phone number will be used once to verify your identity. It's up to you if you choose to use fake info.

  2. Find a store in your area from their website. Bring cash. It's usually going to be a mobile phone store where people can pay their bills for contract phones and shit using a service called Qpay.

  3. As per the instructions on LibertyX website, say "I wish to buy a Qpay." They ask what service/vendor. "LibertyX". They ask how much. You pay $50, $100, $150, $200, etc denominations.

  4. They print you a pin code, which you take home and have 24 hours to redeem it. Libertyx requires to you provide a wallet address to send the coin, they do not host a wallet.

In practice though, there is some confusion.

The retail store may have no idea what you are talking about. This is a dated system so it is a little strange to have a person come in and offer to pay cash for a service that they don't really know about.

The first store I checked told me they didn't have libertyx. The next store I checked was a hassle because the guy wasn't very familiar with using qpay, kept asking me to check elsewhere because he didn't want to accidentally rip me off if the libertyx thing didn't work. Took a good fifteen minutes for them to figure out how to do it. I've also been turned away during times when their network was offline and he couldn't access qpay. One time there was another checker who didn't have the password to log in and use Qpay. Heck, I went to one location listed on libertyx that flat out didn't exist. Yeah the system is kind of sketchy but it works well if you have a reliable retailer.
