Let's talk about AlphaBay

Long time lurker of this sub here and been a buyer since the SR1 days. I just hit $10,000 spent on alphabay and I have no one to talk about it with. I know about all the drama surrounding the market and I ALWAYS come here first before I make any deposit into any market...

But am I the only one who has never had problems with alphabay? I've heard their support is terrible but I've never had to use it myself. All of my transactions have been flawless thus far because I always use trusted vendors with escrow.

It makes sense that the more popular a market gets, the more complaints there are going to be. Example: A user get phished on Dream market and makes a post on this sub how they got scammed. At the same time, 5 users get phished on alphabay and also make posts in this sub claiming they got scammed. Well, alphabay looks pretty bad now with all these claims but they also have 5x the users that dream has. In this example they both have the same amount of complaints 'per capita' but alphabay looks worse because you see more of the complaints and that's why I think alphabay is looked down upon in this sub. Even our precious market named AGORA had lots of scam complaints against them.

I'm not saying I trust AlphaBay though, but you complainers must be getting phished or something. I'm sure a market would make SURE there deposit addresses were working before they decided to exit scam lol. I've always had my coins in 30 mins or less and I make sure to place my order ASAP so even if the market decides to run off with the coins, at least my pack is still on the way.

20,000GBP so about 30,000USD, never an issue with the site, never had an issue on any site, lost cash to Evo & Blackbank exit scams, been scammed by vendors on Evo & Nucleus (got refunded by admin)

People who don't have 2FA enabled have issues, people who don't disable scripts have issues, people who click anything in front of them have issues.

Don't spend more than you are willing to lose, don't trust the markets.

I don't know what the deal is with AB, there's a lot of FUD, i saw people get phished yesterday when the site went down, dodgy links were posted here and on the AB forums, pinging people as soon as they signed up for the forums etc. So it does happen. Does that mean AB is literally santa claus though? I have no idea.

I had one problem, but the vendor cancelled and refunded. Support was not involved.

Same here, spent a nice amount there, never had a problem. Always used the same link to enter the market, which I have since almost a year.

Hope the admins are not involved in any kind of stealing the coins from the users....

If you know what you're doing, then you know what you're doin.

one of my deposits on AB took more than 24 hours to be visible. i considered doing a post on reddit but decided to be patient.

same here $10,292.23 spent on alphabay so far, and ill spend another 10k if they stick around. search sucks but other than that were good.

anyone ever get the Flood limit strike 0 thing when trying to log in?

Spent over 3000€, yet the only problem I ever had was a deposit which took 10hours instead of the usual 2.

[1 Points] None:

No, you're not the only one. I've used AB for a while and had no problems whatsoever

I couldn't log in yesterday and assumed it was gone. Definitely makes me nervous that it could be about to disappear, but there really aren't many viable alternatives at this point, are there? I've been aware of DNM's for about 3 or 4 years now. IMO, after the domino effect of Silk Road's demise, markets seem to have a shelf life of about 1 year before they're gone.

No problems whatsoever. Had $1500 in deals with no problems. One vendor went rogue and stopped responding to messages and just disappeared. Support cancelled my orders and were very helpful.

[1 Points] FuckTheJakes:

After 20+ orders I've never had a problem, first market I used and been that way since. Some digital, some items that go through mail. I always go to deepdotweb.com and use their links. The one time a phishing attempt ever happened was by a scam vendor who instead of giving me a link to a guide provided a clearly false Alphabay link, disputed and he was banned quickly.
