About to spend 35 bucks on a years worth of service from CyberGhost VPN. Should I not?

Any reason not to? Its a Romanian company, they say they keep no logs, etc. Just for personal home use....

I'm not familiar with CyberGhost, I use PIA.

Good reading at https://torrentfreak.com/vpn-anonymous-review-160220/ for most of the major ones.

ETA - here's CyberGhost's responses - https://torrentfreak.com/vpn-anonymous-review-160220/

Go to /r/VPN and look at their comparison chart, there are better VPN's than that, much better.

Edit: Just looked, there are too many to list that are better than it. I'm using AirVPN. It has been excellent so far. Used Mulvlad and TorGuard in the past. Both were excellent too.

You should watch the Grugq's OPSEC lecture, it's on YouTube, but typically it's better to use tor without a vpn.

In the case of darknets or any other hidden service you should not use a VPN, if you need to access a source that doesn't allow tor it's okay to use to to connect to the VPN then to the website.

Look into CryptoStorm. They don't log, and it's pretty cheap

I'd spend the same 35 bucks on Private Internet Access instead for a years subscription.
