Can first class mail be tracked? I'm kind of confused

MyUSPS shows tracking for a package that already arrived at a facility. It's a domestic order but the tracking says Thursday (4 days from now) is the expected delivery. Under 'product' it says first class mail instead of priority.

How exactly is my guy shipping first class mail with tracking numbers? I didn't know that was possible. I'd like to think My USPS is just being dumb as usual

Yes but I don't think it's standard and you have to select and pay extra for first class mail to be tracked.

You can put a label 400 tracking sticker on anything. You're just going to pay extra for it if it's not on a priority or express pack.

First class parcel includes free tracking

Yup first class parcels can be tracked. If you buy electronic mail from ebay or something similar usually it includes tracking. Also the mailman isnt the one who puts the type of mail where it says "first class" or whatever, thats an automatic thing that's done when they scan the barcode.
