If its a phone or tablet, I'd completely de-Google the shit entirely. Not having the services and play store makes that task so much easier.

I really think this is useless paranoia.
Do everything dirty on tails/tor/encrytpted messaging and stop being paranoid about some stupid sleazy apps engineered by people who want to collect mass data for marketing reasons and couldn't care less about what kind of illegal activities you do.
Is there any documented case where apps collecting this kind of data actually got someone convicted of a crime?

Realistically this is a side-channel attack that dosent require apps with ads in them, in fact since this is a form of advertising the app you downloaded might not have any ads in them for this very reason.
More importantly if you are on a compromised onion that has a silent audio file enabled and the government uses their CALEA backdoors to set your phone to listen in, they could theoretically ID everyone who visits a darknetmarket. To my knowledge though audio files cant play with JS disabled, so keep it disabled when visiting sites you dont want to be linked to.

How real is this? Sounds like just theoretical attack?
I don't do anything illegal they can have fun sifting through 1TB of meta data just to find out I like to smoke weed, drink beer and watch porn on my PHONE and LAPTOP.
