Stealing WIFI 101, Easy method

so some of you noobs download tor onto your windows 8 tablet without a VPN and don't PGP your shipping info , yes you

lets try and save you from meeting the drug task force who just loves breaking stuff

1) WTF your on your wifi that's in your name/mom/grandma(stop buying bud and look for a apt dude god) :( no no no no

Steal some WIFI from the area! If your lucky to live in a complex or city this simple solution will work. most areas have public wifi , some older neighbors will have no security on there network.

spend 15-50 dollars on a external powered Antenna...Linux osx windows your covered (EDIT :Get an Alfa and on Linux no driver is needed)

run that bitch (the Antenna)outside to the highest point you can get to or aim it toward the area you think free wifi is For 15 bucks i was able to get over 200 networks in my building 10% NO passwords but i went with public wifi offered by stores .2-.3 miles away from me. its not highspeed but for tor and markets i can do my business from a network a good distance from me.

Using a Dish can make your range 2-3 miles...

stop leaving a trail on your ISP :) and steal some wifi !

What's wrong with using your home wifi? I've never had a problem with it and probably 95% of people here do that.

Could your ISP even look at tor traffic if they wanted? Someone here a few posts ago I saw said tor was encrypted end to end but is that true? I always assumed you'd need a VPN for end to end encryption and that tor was just masking your IP

I remember seeing a DIY build on The Screen Savers years ago (back before ZDtv became TechTV and then subsequently turned into G4) for a long-range directional WIFI antenna that used a steel coffee can and the stripped end of a coax cable as the transmitter/receiver. I don't know if a person could get 2 or 3 miles out of it like you mentioned, but half a mile or so should be no problem. If you're super low on funds for something like a long-range antenna, DIY might be the way to go and would only cost maybe 5 or $6.

Why do you use a VPN?

Interesting

TLDR: op has to use a vpn with tor because he has a fetish for connecting to unsecured/open wifi networks.

That's way too much work
