AB's Monero policy is shady AF and designed to scam you

If you deposit monero to your AB deposit address, even the one AB swears is yours in a PGP-signed message, they will steal your monero if you don't include the "payment ID" when you're sending the monero from your wallet.

This is utter bullshit and designed to steal people's coins. If the deposit address is mine, why does it matter if i added a description to the tx on the blockchain? The coins are still sitting in the address that AB admits is my address.

not to mention the fact that nowhere on the deposit page does is say you must or even should include a description on your deposit

edit: I also just noticed that the monero address on my deposit page is a totally different address than the one in the PGP signed proof it gives me. WTF

This is how Monero works when ever you are depositing into another services wallet so they know it came from you. You're also an idiot because here's what's on the deposit page

To deposit funds, send monero to the address below. The balance will appear after 5 confirmations, which takes around 10 minutes. The address will change between each deposit, however deposits to old addresses will be accepted for up to 7 days. If you send monero to an old address after 7 days, or forget to include the payment ID, the coins will be lost. You must deposit a minimum of 0.1 XMR or the coins will not be added.

That part I bolded happens to be in bright red bolded letters on AB.

Regarding your edit post proof.

edit: You can't see where I bolded I now realize. If you send monero to an old address after 7 days, or forget to include the payment ID, the coins will be lost. Is in bright red letters on AB Monero deposit page.

Could be a way to scam people or could be that they are struggling to identify the addresses they gave you lol, programming incompetence

I'm pretty sure every monero transaction needs a payment ID. Check out r/monero

Addresses are re-used; payment IDs are not - and that's not a problem due to the way the currency is designed.

If you go to your bank's deposit box and deposit an enveloppe of cash but do not include anything referencing your account number, your money will be lost. It is under the bank's control, but since there is no proof tying the money to you, you won't get it. Same for deposits.

We write the important stuff in red. It's the same for people who deposit to an expired BTC address, deposit XMR without the payment ID, login on a phishing link, withdraw to the wrong address, etc. There is something that our parents teach you since we are young, and this word is: RESPONSIBILITY.

I just noticed the same thing have used XMR on there in the past with no issues. But now I´ll just use btc or eth until they sort it out.
