Fake mailboxes?

Has anyone tied putting a mailbox in front of an abandoned house and sending your mail there?

I can imagine that it's not not really legal at all but could it work?

Edit: Chill guys. Never said it wasn't retarded :P

You just need to try it and report back after your pack is not delivered because this is retarded.

The mail service will obviously know that something's up when a mailbox appears at a house that they never go to. There's no way this will work.

Huh... There's gotta be some reason this wouldn't work, seems too easy but who knows, it might.

You really think that getting mail is as easy as throwing a mailbox in front of a house where there's no one living?

If you do it, send there 5-10 clearnet letters first of all, and see how it works

What if you live way off the road where the house can not be seen from the road.. Could a secondary mailbox be put up because the mailman would never know if the house is really back there or not.
