"Sorry We Missed You" - USPS

My delivery came today but 10 to 20 minutes AFTER my normal mail truck came. The driver knocked on the door and I was hesitant at first, by the time I reached the door I saw him go back into the truck holding what appeared to be my package. He left a "Sorry We Missed You" pink slip in the mailbox and it's ready for pickup at the post office but requires signature confirmation. Also, the field for "Sender's Name" is blank. Am I just being paranoid or should I go down and pick it up?

I would be paranoid if, for the first time in the history of the universe, a postal carrier did actually fill out the sender name on one of those slips.

Check the redeliver box and leave instructions to leave package on porch.

Go get it.

you know your gonna pick it up anyway..

anyway its common for a seperate mailman to delivery priority or express atleast in my area.. if it hits the post office at like 10am after trucks go out they send out dudes in mini vans.

They always leave priority packages even express in my box without me signing though..

If you ordered internationally, you may want to check if they claim to having tracking info. EMS tracked orders require signature a fair amount of the time. I've also gotten them for flats that were simply too large to fit into my mailbox.

Senders name has been blank many times. I think it depends on how lazy the postal worker is feeling.

If you're not feeling down to picking it up, lots of times you can get an agent to act on your behalf to get the package, depending on what the slip says. If this would help you in a CD situation I'm not sure, but if you could trick somebody totally naive into picking it up, telling them 'I got no clue what this is. Do me a favor and pick it up,' at least you'd have a fall man who wouldn't be able to leak info.

I've very rarely received a note with the senders name filled in.

Is it express? They come separately. I also have had plenty of packages delivered when the mailman either forgot to bring it to the door or almost took it to the wrong apartment.

There isn't anything suspicious about this.

This happened once to me, and it required a signature too. There was a big line at the post office, and needless to say, I almost damn near had a heart attack the whole time.

I was checking my rear-view mirrors the whole way back too, and I hid the package in the attic after I got home for a few hours until I realized I was being too paranoid.

That other story on the frontpage of this sub about the USPS dude coming back to scan the package a second time sounds sketch as fuck to me though.

Yes you are being paranoid. Go to the post office and pick it up. If the package actually is addressed to you. You will need to show ID before you can sign for it.

If this was a controlled delivery, the signature will not incriminate you. However, If the police are surveillancing you. Chances are they know what the package is, and only want the signature so they can confirm the package is in your hands. Now when they come to your house 2 days later, they will be looking for the package, denying having the package will not help. As your signature will be used against you.

If you are expecting a shipment from the darknet. You should private message the vendor and ask them if the shipping method they used required a signature. If they said yes. Then your fine. If they said no, you should take some extra steps, when you pick up the package.

Take the package home, but do not open it for at least a month, this is crucial. Keep it in your house, but make sure it is not hidden. If the police come to your door, they will be looking for the package. Providing the package unopened will save you from criminal charges.

If you open the package knowing that the shipping method the vendor used would not require you to sign, and you find your expected drugs. Your best option would be to report the drugs to the police. This would save you from criminal charges. You also wouldn't be able to use your address or name for darknet purposes anymore.
