Semi related topic. The vast majority of drugs sold on the DNM are imported this way so just wondering what you guys think. We have direct connections with some cartels and other independent organized crime rings. We are obviously not offering work or looking for help but they are constantly looking for mules to import drugs via hidden vehicle compartments or drivers willing to smuggle humans through routes without CBP Checkpoints. The compensation is anywhere from 1,000.00 to 2,000.00 USD per kilogram/person. Shipments range from 4 to 10 kilograms (Meth or Cocaine) or 8-10 people. Very dangerous business, the risk does not appear to be worth the reward. Just curious to hear what you guys thought.
So I have some personal experience with it. I would definitely not recommend this. It's not worth the risk and cartels (as I'm sure you know) do not fuck around.
I grew up in San Diego, with family in Mexico, and have a dual citizenship in Mexico. As such I was back and forth from San Diego and Mexico quite a bit. A few years ago I worked a job in Tijuana. One night out on the town a man in very nice clothing approached me asking if I'd like to make some money, curious I said yes, he said I needed to bring a package to a warehouse in San Diego over the border. Since I was a US citizen and travelled a lot, I figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal. I was a young, stupid kid, plus he didn't give me much of a choice -- when I expressed disinterest he said "Well, Wouldn't want anything to happen to your girlfriend xxx in Los Angeles would you?" I'm assuming he got my contact information from my employer, but not really sure. He gave me a package wrapped in plastic a million times (almost positive it was meth -- it didn't smell) that I brought back in my backpack in my family car. I was with my whole family so I thought i would blend in well. It worked, I got through and met at the specificed warehouse in San Diego. I was greeted by a few angry Mexicans wondering what this white kid is doing with their package. I was escorted into the warehouse where I saw assault rifles piled up, drugs to the ceiling, and people milling about who looked kind of like human trafficking victims, cleaning and sitting around. I was given $2500 and told to fuck off and keep my mouth shut or I'd never hear from my girlfriend again. I believed them.
I never contacted them again. It was good, easy money but seriously not worth the risk.
