Being asked for signature on parcels that shouldn't require signature?

I placed on order for a low quantity of schedule 4 substances domestically. They came by xpresspost. Xpresspost usually doesn't require a signature, however the mail lady asked me to sign for it. I was slightly put off by this. I double checked and xpresspost only requires signature if it has a special sticker attached by the sender and mine did not.

Nothing has happened since and I don't get why they would do a controlled delivery on a low quantity of schedule 4 that's not even illegal to possess in personal amounts. So what happened? Did Canadapost change their policy?

The only reason I am worried is that I have another package coming by xpresspost. This package is larger and its also under a name of someone else living in my residence. This person gets mail sent there all the time, but doesn't live there anymore (no one knows this). So what I am worried about is that I won't be able to sign for this person even though we are both listed as living at the same residence. Or could anyone living in a residence sign for a package?

Also all the listings are xpresspost no signature according to vendors so I dont know what to do if they ask me for a signature on the larger package. If I don't sign, they will eventually open it and my address will be burnt. If I do sign, this might be a controlled delivery?

If it was a CD and you signed for the package then LE would have busted in 1 minute after you signed for it.

You should be good man, just keep it low amounts.

Wouldn't the scheduling of the drug make it illegal to possses without a prescription?

As far as I know, anyone living in the residence can sign for it. My roommate has signed for clearnet packages for me before.

Can't help with the other questions.

Canada Post does that. It's happened to me a few times, even when the signature required sticker was not used. I think they just ask sometimes for they are clueless and can't remember if a signature is needed like priority letters do. If the drugs are in your hands already, you're fine :)

Just practice writing "Al Capone" in a different style of handwriting & use that for everything sketchy. They can't pin that on you.

Or just sign X.

Oh and any adult at the residence can sign at door.
