DBAN and TAILS

Ive done it, youve done, weve all done it at some point. The DNM scene is so addicting that at the begining of my usage I was careless about my OPSEC. I used Tor, GPG and other things I would hate LE to find on my windows OS. If I use Dariks Boot and Nuke to clear my hard drive, would I still be able to access BIOS and boot into TAILS already installed on a flash drive? I have a great hiding spot for my flash drive so if LE ever knocked on my door I could simply say "yeah I got a virus on that computer I have no clue why it doesnt work" (well I wouldnt say that, my lawyer would but still... you get it.)

If this does indeed work I believe that it is a pretty smart way to access and order from DNMs.

NOTE: This is a computer that I do not need anymore, my goal is to only be able to run TAILS on it.

Thanks :)

This isn't the air tight defense you think it is. There needs to be evidence of a virus.

Also, the team that searches your home for flash devices and sdhc cards when you're arrested for computer crimes is a team whos bulk work is anti-terror. You will not hide anything from these people.

Anyway: BIOS is on the motherboard, not the harddrive. So yes, have at it.

DBAN is overkill, just zero the drive and bin it.

Or just encrypt your HDD and say "I don't remember my password, sorry" with your lawyer present. You just need a strong passphrase with a keyfile thrown in the sewage.

You're golden and LE have nuffin' on you.

Without reading the books everyone wrote: take out the hard drive and physically destroy it to a million pieces. Shatter the disks inside in a trash can because they will explode like a broken light bulb.

Then your BIOS will probably automatically boot your usb since there's no hard drive.
