Canada Post and Customs Stories

This is particularly for Canadians who have ordered in the past and had packages either seized, or go missing. I have yet to find a story of Canada border services sending a love letter or confiscating a package. Has anyone ever had problems and can you elaborate on what happened?

Drugs are ok... now try to import "maple syrup" made with high fructose corn syrup and you'll be waking up to flash-bangs and rubber bullets

I've read before that they need permission to open your package. Take this with a grain of salt. Just what I've heard, I have no experience and have done no research on the subject.

I've had a package confiscated, nothing really became of it. I knew something was up when they re-routed the package east when it was supposed to be going west. Apparently that's where their main place is for suspicious packages is, some place in Ontario.

I have ordered and sent many things over the past several years to and from Canada. The only time I EVER had a problem was with a private deal I had made with an acquaintance out West which ended in me sending poorly hidden cash in a tracked prepaid envelope. It was stolen en route by a CP employee, removed from tracking, and I was unable to get anything back as cash is an "unshippable."

My opinion is that stolen mail or "lost" mail is a bigger risk than discovery through customs inspection. Chances are good that your mailman would be down to get very high with free drugs if they are at all discernible.

Your package seems to be taking a normal route through customs. Average wait time in customs is 2-5 days. I have had a package in their possession for the full 5 and make it to me with no problems. They are just straight up swamped. It takes them a while to sort everything out. If you are receiving the product on the East coast the process seems to be a bit faster.

Depending on the vendor, shipping to Canada is fairly reliable. Bulky objects raise red flags and seem to be searched more thoroughly. The small parcels and envelopes tend to breeze right through.

Had an international package seized, only time i tried international, thankfully the package weighed under 30 grams so it couldnt be legally opened without my permission. That was about a year and a half ago

Never. Ordered dozens of times both internationally and domestic, personal amounts to smaller size resale amounts. Each package got through fine.
