I am launching TorAds, an ad network for Tor, because it is something Tor has been desperately needing for a while. There are many new tor sites popping up everyday. A lot of them are just informational and have no way of generating revenue. This was the biggest problem with Grams in the beginning. Torads will provide a fast and simple way to add advertising to any site on Tor. Not only will these new tor sites be able to get word out by creating ads but also be able to make some money once the traffic starts coming. I hope this will bring a lot more innovation to the Tor network of sites. This will also provide vendors a fats and easy way to advertise on Grams and other tor sites.

I'm worried about the deanonymization possibilities that might occur if you do this.
A few famous hacking attacks/vulnerabilities were directly served over advertising networks. Compromised ad networks were modified to send malicious code to the browser, resulting in infections like adware and slaves being served to computers around the world.
In Tor, infections aren't as much of an issue, but JavaScript deanonymization attacks are. If the "torads" service were to be compromised and modified to send malicious code to users that have JS enabled, there's a possibility that hundreds or thousands of users could fall victim to deanonymization. Browser fingerprinting is what helped catch Blake Benthall, and users who don't update their Tor client (or another implementation) can more easily be identified.
Decentralization in the darknet is what we need. A centralized "ad agency" is not logical. Please, find another way to do this.
