Ok. Lets assume Signal is secure, but what if

I'm aware that it's best to stay the fuck off the phone but for those that still choose to do it I'm sure alot like Wickr or Signal.

Lets assume they are as secure as they say with no backdoors, etc.

How do they prevent Swype or other Keyboard apps from recording what is written?

How safe are both of these apps if the phone gets in LEOs hands. Does the destruction on both services really clear the messages or could they be gotten by Cellbrite or other tools?

Can Cellbrite break the password of Wickr? What type of security is supporting that password?

First you are going to want a phone that has full disk encryption. This will prevent any data that is on the phone from being handed over to the Law man. Now in extreme cases they will get into that phone one way or another so look into who implements this the best. Next, depending on the keyboard you are using you can bet snippets of conversations are sent to servers somewhere. For example, Google knows how you type and the way you say things by analyzing the data YOU gave permission to send over. Just turn off customization features like that and that should help cut down on the risk of leaky data being out there. May be best to just use a new g-account on the burner and make sure it is not learning your habits, or as they say improving the experience (which it is but I digress). Next get the idea of using wickr out of your head, Signal is backed by Edward and the guy who did the security for Open Whisper Systems, the backbone of Signal, is highly regarded in the security industry. Finally just have passwords all over you can set a password in signal just in case they catch you with the phone. One final piece of cake for your brain mouth, you will end up on a security camera somewhere buying that phone even if it is in cash. Just throwing that out there. Best of luck on your mission.

For those that can, encrypting your smartphone is always a good move. From what I understand, they then won't be able to use it as evidence if they can't break the encryption.
