Lets talk about updating the vendor review template! Please upvote for visibility (this is a self-post I receive no karma)

I'll admit we're amidst a bit of turmoil at the moment with all the seizures right now. Even so, I'd like to address something that many users have suggested.

If you were to update the review template made by /u/entactoBob, how would you change the system or categories?

e: anyone know how to make a strawpoll type thing on tor??

What people don't understand is that the POINT of a 0-10 scale is for 5 to be in the middle... not 8 or 9

[10 Points] 9989779988:

I'd make it a 0-5/5 system.

I'd make it more clear that a decent order doesn't deserve 100/100.

Add detail categories for weight and price (not weight accuracy or price value). Shipping time, if possible.

I think that emphasis needs to placed on giving an accurate review score based on the scale. If we're rating out of 10, a 10/10 needs to be truly exceptional in all aspects. Normal reviews (think: good shipping time, decent/unneeded communication, quality product, good stealth) should be anywhere from a 5/10 to a 7/10. Anything below a 5/10 means subpar.

[6 Points] Hellokittycustomer:

Have qualitative categories like "great, good, satisfactory, bad, terrible" instead of just a numeric scale of 0-10..

[3 Points] None:

mandatory to at least write 3 sentences for each categorie(s) that is really important such as stealth and quality.

the point system is not working too great, at least for me. i dont understand what 8/10 quality would be for me than the person who have the product. we all have different perspectives. but thats why we also upload pictures so we know the quality, especially weed. what is 8/10 stealth ??? writing about the stealth with least amount of details as u can would be better than points

some people write great reviews by just writing and not using points. but some just leaves reviews with only points and little to no summary.

all reviews should be reviewed by a moderator(experienced reviewer) before its posted/visible. there should be mandatory requirements.

[3 Points] roionsteroids:

The product is obviously the most important part of the review, but currently only accounts for 10% of the total score - should be more like 50% imo.

Also many people are reviewing with "great vendor, would buy again" after receiving but not even trying the product. I just don't get it.

[3 Points] SoulUndead:

Tired of people posting reviews of an order without trying the product. Please make product review MANDATORY. Entire review is fucking useless without it.

[2 Points] young_k:

i think 90+ should be for reputable, hooked up orders. 100 should be next to impossible...HoS's 10 extra hits of acid should be a 100 or something, not 1g fat, good weed, took less then a week.

[2 Points] durgsrbad:

Nothing worse than a list of 10/10s, with a minor comment like 'good, would use again maybe'. Fuck. Off.

Define whatever categories you want initially on the template, but put a simple '(P)Pass' or '(F)Fail' there, with an expectation that a few words are written.

Honestly, if I see one more '11/10' I'll go fucking postal.

I think an 5pt system with no scores teased out of subcategories is a better solution:

5 = vendor replies with 24hrs, order arrives on expected date, stealth is current best practice, no flaws in product. Recommended without reservation.

4 = vendor or order takes longer to reply or arrive than expected, but no flaws in either product or stealth. Recommended.

3 = inferior product or vendor reply/shipping times unacceptably long, good stealth. Recommended with reservation.

2 = like 3 with lazy stealth, or vendor requires FE. Recommended with strong reservations.

1 = vendor was incredibly lazy and unprofessional, but product eventually arrived. Not recommended.

0 = had to dispute order, vendor scam, etc. Stay away from this vendor.

Reviews could look something like this:

TITLE: vendor & product review

BODY: vendor, product, price/unit

score = x/5

detailed review of experience with vendor response times, shipping estimates vs arrival times, quality of stealth, quality of product, etc.

The score could have wiggle room if something in a particular category was very wrong and the rest was very good, but the more important aspect is the details of how the transaction was handled.

pictures? pics of the product is a must for me. nothing i hate more than reading a review and seeing no pics

The problem with using a numerical system is that it introduces a lot of subjectivity into the rating. A 4/5 rating can be completely different from person to person because there isn't any real meaning behind that number. A qualitative system would give much more meaning to the reviews.

There should be three options per category: poor, satisfactory, excellent. This makes the ratings more uniform, there's less room for subjectivity, and everyone would be able to understand it even if they've never seen it before.

The default rating is satisfactory. If a vendor sells you an eighth of weed and you get an eighth of weed then the quantity category would be satisfactory. If a vendor advertises 5 day shipping and you get your product in 5 business days then shipping would be satisfactory.

When something isn't as it should be, the rating would change to poor. If you get 2.5gs from a 3g order, that would be considered poor. If a vendor advertises 5 day shipping and it takes two weeks to get your product, that would be poor.

On the other side, if something about the order is much better than expected, the rating would change to excellent. If you get 4gs from a 3g order, that's excellent. If a vendor advertises 5 day shipping and you get your product in 3 days, that's excellent.

In addition, if a reviewer says something is poor or excellent, they should be expected to write a few sentences explaining what was poor or excellent about the order. One sentence should explain what was expected and another should explain how the expectation wasn't met or how the vendor exceeded the expectation. This prevents people rating everything as excellent just to appease a vendor.

Categories that need ratings are vendor communication, shipping time, stealth, product quantity/weight, and product quality. There should also be a section for price and price per unit. Price shouldn't have a qualitative rating because it adds more subjectivity. What I consider $100 worth of weed is not necessarily what anyone else considers $100 worth of weed. Instead, if you buy a quarter of dank for $100 and it's pretty clearly reggie, that's something that would be noted as poor in the product quality section.

With the new ratings, a new overall rating is needed. Adding up the totals of the categories can be very misleading. In the current system a vendor that gets a 0/10 for stealth could still get 90/100 overall which isn't a terrible score, despite the fact that most people would refuse to order from a vendor with non existent stealth. I like the system evolution uses, as well as many other markets I'm sure. Positive/neutral/negative. A vendor that does everything in a satisfactory way should get a positive rating. If a vendor is terrible at communicating and his shipping took longer than expected, but everything else was satisfactory/excellent, then that vendor should get a neutral rating. If the vendor send you a bag of salt, but everything else is satisfactory/excellent, you could still give that vendor a negative rating. Basically, if you'd buy again you'd rate positive. If you think people should be hesitant about buying you'd rate neutral. If no one should be or the vendor is a scammer you'd rate negative.

I'll reply to this comment with an example review.

This is tough. WherevER you use a numeric rating system, you end up with hugely weighted scores on opposite ends of the spectrum. This happens in employment reviews as well. Everybody is a 9 out of 10 or better and it's a feedback loop. Nobody wants to be "objective" and rage someone a 5 or 6 out of 10 bc they'd look like absolute shit compared to the 9s and 10s. We should have a bell curve. Instead we end up with an upside down bell curve. People either gets 9/10 or 0/1!

I don't forsee this being solved if nobody else can seem to solve it. As a result maybe just a 3 rating system. Exceptional. Good. Bad. Exceptional would need justification or face the wrath of the community. It must be self policing. I guess we could try to be self policing with the numbering system but it'd rewuire a major re-education to view 5s or 6s as good scores and not shitty scores. If someone wasn't at least good nobody in their right mind should order from them. Almost everyone should fall into good or bad. A few will be exceptional. Make a few categories. Some are more important than others. Stealth for instance might be the most important in a way. Anyway that's another debate.

[1 Points] SgtFaecesProcessor:

If a points system is used then the categories need to be weighted. I'd say stealth and communication are paramount. I've had some awesome vendors and awful vendors in both respects and they've both affected what business I would do with these vendors in the future.

[1 Points] None:

How about doing it like eBay does?

In the text the poster should comment at least one line on at least: The product (e.g. I tried 80mg and it was ++), and the stealth (e.g. simple but good enough to avoid scrutiny). Bonus points for talking about shipping speed, communication, product quality (value for money), providing photos of the product and/or reagent testing. But all of these should not affect the overall feedback score unless it's an extreme case.

It also saves a lot of time if one can just search the vendors' name and get a quick summary of people's past experiences. So the title of the post should contain all the essentials:

[Vendor Review] SuperMollyOmg [Evo] - 5g MDMA - EU to US - $150 - POSITIVE

[Vendor Review] ShittyCokeVendor [C9] - 1g Uncut Fishscale - US to US - $100 - NEUTRAL

Obviously people should use Neutral/Negative sparingly, as these can seriously hurt a vendor's reputation. If you've received the product, it tests good and the stealth was enough to avoid detection, leave a positive feedback. Keep it simple. The stars and 7.52 ratings are for IGN.
