New Landlord EX DEA Agent.....

Hi I know this doesn't belong here but the darknet community is where I socialize and it's kinda related. Anyway, I'm now renting a house and I just found out my landlord just happens to be an ex DEA agent. Considering I will almost always have 1lb+ cannabis, oz's of shatter and plenty of 'cid how worried should I be? I'm definitely investing in a large safe to store my goods but will that suffice?

i would move, honestly.

i choose my apartments partially based around getting high.

Well it would depend on your situation. Dealing out of your house is a no go, he'll instantly know whats up. I think your hardest hurdle here is that being ex law-enforcement his mind is wired to be suspicious. You don't know if he was a field agent or a desk jockey, but his past coupled with civil forfeiture laws would make me wary that he may invade on your privacy if he thinks somethings up. Id start setting up OPSEC now to know if anyones been in your apartment. Is the guy living on site?

Once while renting out different houses for trapping, me and some business associates purposely rented a house from a newly retired cop. They never raided us there coz well, they'd be breaking their own friends shit.

Had shitload of surveillance on us though.

Don't deal out of your house, gonna have to meet up with people and invest in a vacuum sealer

Look for a new place to rent?

You should probably egg his house.

Lol @ keeping a plb of weed where you sleep and dealing out of the same place. Nothing over personal quantitys makes it in my house and you would be hard pressed to find someone who knows i can help them find things and knows my home address and i dont even have a landlord dea or not lol

[2 Points] sdfhgdhjbdafcadv:

I would think if he's an ex-DEA agent, the last thing he'd want to do in his retirement is worry about people doing drugs.

Also, if you fit the stoner profile even slightly, chances are he knows and doesn't care.

[2 Points] None:

Dont be foolish about your use or distribution. smoke outside, sell elsewhere. store goods some where stealthy. theres only so much you can do. if hes ex dea you cant outsmart him.

[2 Points] None:

does he live by you? on site land lord?

If you're keeping weight where you lay your head to sleep you're doing it wrong already. Put that safe somewhere off site would be step 2, after setting up cameras.

Well, everybody is unique, including LE. You shouldn't be terribly surprised, BUT some ex-DEA can be renegades. It depends on what he did and how he viewed his job. Some are thrill junkies who've done unspeakable things and just happened to have a badge. Some are in it b/c they believe in the cause.

BUT, two things to be aware of - obviously an ex-DEA agent will be quite embarassed if one of his tenants was invovled in drugs. Also, if he is aware of drugs, esp if dealing (no matter how small), he'll be well-versed in civil forfeiture laws and might be quite proactive. He might not give a shit unless you make it obvious. Your opsec should always be tight, no matter who your landlord is.

Are you dealing or just having fun? Do not deal...i assume the neighbors kkow him, im sure you would get ratted on quick with suspcious behavior, other tha that...get a fucking safe, he cant just make you unlock stuff or gonintonit because he is a landlord

[1 Points] 2005C:

Unless this is a really fantastic place to live, move ASAP.

If you chose not to move, get a storage unit and a PO Box. Keep your house and your nose clean!

[1 Points] dallchuez:

First of all, what state do you live in? That makes all the difference in the world and everyone here seems to be ignoring that lol.

[1 Points] drimilr:

I never totally believed the story, but supposedly an old landlord of mine was ex dea. I lived in his unit and worked in his hippie grocery story. My roommate told me while we toking up with him. I nearly choked on my hit. But they always stuck to their guns that he was ex dea. It seemed almost common knowledge in the community.

Point is, maybe your landlord doesnt give a shit as long as you dont have traffic in and out bc of your drug dealing.

[1 Points] altecMI:

He's retired and knows the job was bullshit, but if you're acting suspicious he might make word.

[1 Points] gg3ico:

Depends on where you live too bro. State I'm in, the laws heavily favor the tenant. I cant do shit to my tenants unless i can prove something and even then its murky. It's his property but you signed a lease for a place to LIVE. That's not your house but it is your home and you have a right to safety and privacy.

Him being previous LE (i have worked with LE extensively in my previous career), I guarantee you he understands drug laws extensively and different drugs. Cannabis stinks and is easy to spot. He probably wouldnt care if you paid your rent on time and didnt fuck the place up if you were just a cannabis user. But the weight your talking sounds like theres probably people in and out of their and I have no idea what you do for a living, but if its less than prestigious, he might get a little snoopy.

Be careful, learn the laws, watch your back. Keep your place tidy and pay your rent, minimize any unnecessary contact with him and keep the necessary contact very pleasant and succinct. Dont look and act like a drug user, and dont throw parties or have the homies over all the time.

[1 Points] threwaweigh007:

everyone is telling you to move n shit.. but he is EX DEA, which means he's no longer drug tested, so he's probably doing all the blow that he confiscated and stashed... so, just find a clever way to ask him if he gets high and just roll with it.

[1 Points] Hank_Vendor:

well you'd better hope the reason be is exDEA is because he was bent as fuck
