TO TURN BASE BACK TO COCAINE HCL:
ok so now that the base has been filtered and dried (not a hint of water should be in the base!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
it is added to anhydrous ether at 1g base per 15mL ether
38% HCl is added to anhydrous acetone at .2mL HCl per 10mL acetone for every g of base used in the ether formula above
mix both solutions up to make homogenous and pour acetone into ether solution. crystals instantly form and begin to sink
when the ether has cleared and is no longer foggy pass crystals through a filter making sure to capture all the solvent being drained and pass a little more acetone over the filter mass to wash off any base that is still in the ether
the captured solvents can then dried to leave behind any of the base that was not reacted with the HCl treatment. this base can be weighed and used again as to make more salt
the water from which the base was made from should have no base in it is done correctly
stirring is not needed to do this crystallization but is an important factor in the way crystals form. more stirring means smaller more even crystals less stirring gives bigger crystals but are usually uneven in their purity
experience is needed to find the rate of stirring needed to get desired results drying should be done in the most dry area possible with a little air movement if possible when the coke doesn't smell like ether and is easily powdered it is ready
this technique for crystalizing the base into an HCl salt involves both anhydrous acetone and anhydrous ether using either one alone WILL NOT work so don't try it.
at best using acetone alone will result in an oily water layer at the bottom that if separated and dried will yield a crude mass of cocaine HCl along with excessive HCl ...

In this proccess acetone can be used with hcl (ethanol is also suitable). Its not combo, but used with hcl acid and added into ether what has dissolved cocaine base. Instead of ether you can use hexane too. After addition of hcl+acetone combo into ether, hcl acid will convert base into hydrochloride salt what will now be unsoluble in ether and solidify out.(cocaine hcl is now soluble in polar solvents (water,acetone) Acetone can also contain some cocaine hcl and should be left to evaporate and colect solid cocaine hydrochloride. Suggestion:read about acid-base extraction and what are polar and non-polar solvents.This will help to learn basic principe behind cocaine conversion. It standard to have pH strips and not to depend on visual observations. In cocaine hcl to base and addition of amonia all you need to check ph and to stop addition when solution reach 12pH. That would ensure that solution is basic and how all cocaine is reacted. For conversion back to hcl salt you can use very simple method. Prepare 5% hcl acid and add drop by drop in dry cocaine base while mixing until it dissolve. After just evaporate whole thing. Only question and complication for chemicly naive is how much acid to use. Too much acid actually won't hurt but if after evaporation cocaine is not completly dried it can be acidic. To avoid that you must calculate how much mol you have cocaine base and use just a little above equimolar hcl acid. Learn about molar weight, each chemical has molar weight. If X chemical has MW=100 and Y: MW=50 then equimolar would mean to use 100grams of x and 50 grams of y chemical. Cocaine base MW=303.35 g. Hcl acid MW=36.46g. So as example for 303 g of cocaine base you would need aprox 100ml 36% hcl acid what can be further diluted with water. If you have 5 g of coicaine base 5/303.35= 0.016M. For that you would need 0.016M (add bit extra 0.02M) of hcl acid: aprox 2ml of 36% hcl acid (0.02*36=720mg hcl, 2ml of 36% hcl acid is 720mg) what can be diluted further with water (at least 8ml). Amount of water does not really matter,just enough to dissolve whole cocaine, its evaporated regardless. If high purity cocaine base is used it should not be any byproducts. Note: Pure HCl is gas, hydrochloric acid is hcl gas dissolved in water. Concetrated hydrochloric acid has 36%. Density ( or weight) of 36% hcl acid is a bit higher then water but i have disregarded it here. Actually 100ml of 36% acid weight 117.9 g and 36% of hcl is 42,44g ( so 100ml 36% acid has dissolved 42.44g of HCl).
