How do you "tumble" your pictures?

As we all know, most of the pictures we take today are traceable, and so I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for "tumbling" pictures so that the geotags / tracers get mixed up?

Danks in advance.

I use Exiftools in Linux.

exiftools -all= picture.jpg

Exiftools will then create a backup picture called "picture.jpg_orginal"

After that, it will strip the picture in the command of exif data.

"picture.jpg" will then have no exif data.

Then comes the task of posting it.

Do a screen capture of the actual picture!

You can use something like deGeo or EXIF Eraser or many other software to remove metadata like you want.

You want to do it locally on your computer or phone though, it is as easy or easier, and more importantly, it's more secure.

I replace the geotags with photos taken from people I don't like.

now where can we safely host our pictures? infotomb isn't working, the tor links have been down a while and now the regular links just say retrieving file and never loads

Fastest way is take the picture then screenshot the picture then edit it with whatever photo tools at hand. It's cheap and works for most situations. But removing the exif data like has been noted is the actual way add anonymity your pictures.

This is a complete guess so I'm asking if anybody knows the answer...

Could you not just take a picture, open it on say the standard "windows-photo-viewer"

hit print screen

paste into paint

crop image, save as .png

would this remove the exif data as its a different file (technically its a print screen of your whole screen?) rather than the direct iphone-uploaded image?

Just a thought, somebody let me know how far from right I am, or if I do have a point

If you want to mix photos you print them and put them on the floor next to some unrelated images. You can take those from any website or just cut them out of magazines. Take a picture of the whole collection and maybe you'll realize that the process is equally pointless as your question. Seriously, tumbling geotags?!

Images are identifiable through EXIF data which can contain a lot of information, for example the model of the camera, exposure time, sensor sensitivity, focal length, time and date when the picture was taken and the location. The latter are most obviously dangerous. But the technical data might also narrow the search.

So you should always remove all EXIF data. On Linux you can use exiftool, for Windows there's JPEG Stripper.

"Tumbling photos"... unbelievable.
