Linux virtual machine on OSx

So I have chosen to try and access some darknet markets for various reasons. I am using a macbook at the moment. For various reasons, OSx seems to be a bad idea to access the darknet. To better ensure security, should I use tor on a linux virtual machine? Would this be ridiculously slow? The other options would be making my mac a linux-mac dualboot. Or just saying "fuck it", but I would rather avoid that

Don't use OS X or Windows at all. Even if you're using a Virtual machine it doesn't matter because the host OS is still compromised. Just use a Tails bootable USB.

Why not just use the tor brower bundle like everyone else? Put it on a veracrypt volume if you want to be paranoid.

You could use linux in a vm if you really want, but unless you are doing some really illegal shit (more tthan just browsing or ordering personal amounts of things, cp..etc) you really don't need to worry much.

The tor browser bundle is designed with new users in mind, it doesnt leave tracks on your system, the only setting you might want to change is making sure noscript is turned on.

Unless you're a vendor, then you have little to worry about. I use OS x without issues, people say its compromised but no-one really knows for sure. Yes linux is a safer option, but again, if you're only buying small amounts I don't see the need for additional op-sec.
