has anyone ever encountered the benzodiazepine derivative Tofisopam (trade named Emandaxin or Grandaxin)?

it's an anti-anxiety medication that is strictly anxiolytic, without the skeletal muscle relaxation, amnestic properties or motor function impairment that comes along with most traditional benzodiazepines.

i'm extremely interested in giving it a try, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

I've tried it (very good source): http://brandmedicines.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=709&zenid=ruus6h8h7hvpoebsegeoq8st35

Saved he best reports on it I was able to track down:

Some reports and info on Tofisopam:

I hope I'm not inappropriately necrobumping here... But I also got my hands on some Bulgarian Grandaxin. And as a person with social anxiety, it is niiiiiiiiiiice Works about as well as clonazepam works for me! I say it's a hell of an anxiolytic (especially combined with 600mg of gabapentin, gave me a nice boost). as it appears to be nonsedating, with minimal abuse liability and minimal cognitive impairment.

My experience is that it gives you a relaxed feeling combined with excellent concentration, motivation and sociability, without any muscle relaxant or any sedative, amnestic proporties + NO withdrawal effects at all Its structure is fundementaly different from any other BZ (2,3 benzo) and, from my own experience I believe that it must be affecting dopamine in a way

The great thing about it is that you can take as needed for focus + anxiety or chronically without worrying about withdrawal.....

I know I might sound talking about a fantasy drug ,but the truth is that I only stopped it because I left Egypt and could not find it in the other countries I lived in...... It is proposed that these two drugs may represent a novel class of compounds that reduce anxiety by increasing the ability of patients to cope with daily tasks, rather than classical anxiolytics, that reduce anxiety by tranquilization. I've tried tofisopam, and like it so far. It's not a wonder drug, but it's by far the best non-addictive anxiolytic I've tried so far. It dosen't feel like normal benzos, there is no recreational value. You might compare it to modafinil: Modafinil has the wake-promoting properties amphetamine has, minus the fun. Tofisopam has a nice anxiolytic effect minus all the fun gabaerics provide. I really wonder why it is not a more widely used medication. I've used Grandaxin for a few years. It dramatically reduced my permanent anxiety after 1-2 months of usage, no obsessive "scary" minds before going sleep and so on. I take it now from time to time (2 pills) in case of heavy stress... I've recently tried "real" 1,4-benzo, phenazepam. Fk this st, I hate it. Where Grandaxin really cures fears, tension, anxiety and just makes everything "OK as it should be" phenazepam just makes you DRUNK. You can achieve same "anxiolytic" properties from glass of whiskey, not from tranq pills. "I finally received the famous Tofisopam a few days ago, so I decide to stop risperdal I was taking (at low dose) , and frankly I feel that it's the same job that risperdal, it is also perfect as an anxiolytic , it does not make me necessarily more social , it just makes me feel some mental clarity, I can once again smoke marijuana without becoming pyschotic, yet only positive I will will keep you in touch to see if it is still as effective ! an interesting link there http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/conten...2/574.abstract about pde10a regulation of dopamine and glutamate ! For all of you suffering with SA like me, I felt I had to come and tell you this.I recently got my hands on some Tofisopam (Grandaxin) from an overseas pharmacy.

All of the effects are exactly as described in literature. Complete anxiolysis, with none of the other effects of benzodiazepines. No sedation, no relaxation, no impairment of concentration or memory. Just still, clear tranquility in place of the anxiety that is my day-to-day existence.

I felt the effect for the first time yesterday, when I took 50mg. Effects are felt almost immediately when the pill is taken sublingually, and seem to last for a good four hours. This morning, I took 100mg before my commute to class. Walking across the bustling campus usually makes me feel extremely uncomfortable and self-conscious, but today I felt like Neo gliding through the Matrix. Here I am posting on a forum; I usually only ever lurk because I'm too worried about what others will think of my posts.

There are no other effects at all. A slight alteration in headspace, but none of the other things benzos tend to do. I've done my time with alprazolam, clonazepam, and etizolam, and although they were all great for anxiety, they also produced noticeable impairment - impairment others around me would notice before I did. Not this time. Sharp as a razor. Of course this is only my second time taking it, so I can't comment on addiction/withdrawal.

I'm guessing your rules disallow sourcing, so I'll just say that this stuff was extremely easy to find once I was made aware of its existence. Came by mail in less than 10 days. If you, like me, are crippled and barely able to function because of your anxiety, before you reach for SSRIs or antipsychotics or those nasty 1,4-benzodiazepines, do yourself a favor and give Tofisopam a try.

I'm looking forward to trying it at a local bar or a party later in the week. Will return with updates. Indeed I did. As a matter of fact, there's a link in the second post of this thread.

Just got back from class. Just two hours ago I was giving 20-minute presentation on parliamentary electoral systems in a foreign language, and although I was caught up searching for the right word or phrase a few times, it was certainly the smoothest presentation I've ever given. At times in the past I'd be shaking visibly from nervousness all throughout, but this, this was just... easy. On the drive home, I invited a friend to join me at a local bar. SA always has me feeling totally uneasy and unwelcome at such places, but I'm excited to see how this will turn out.

Maybe this is just the "honeymoon phase" of the drug. I almost expect its effects to diminish over time due to tolerance, or for some horrible side-effects to materialize. I'm going to try to limit my usage to PRN as much as I can, although the temptation to use it daily will certainly be there. Not because there's any euphoria or anything like that - this drug really lacks anything I've come to expect from a benzo, except anxiolysis - but just because it's such a breath of fresh air to feel this way. I am cautiously optimistic. An update for the interested: took 50mg of tofisopam to a local bar last night to meet a friend. The place was crowded, groups of people standing around the entrance etc. This kind of thing would normally put me off to begin with but I strolled in with no hesitation. I sat at the bar alone for a few minutes while waiting for my friend. Even made a bit of small talk with the bartenders. Without the chaos of all of the anxious thoughts running through my mind, I was even able to remember that I knew their names, and that's something that usually goes out the window first when there's so many people around.

This stuff isn't like Gabapentin, which makes me feel incredibly pro-social and wanting to interact with people. I was content to simply ignore all of the people around me and focus on interacting with my friend, unconcerned as I usually would be that others were judging me. If I couldn't think of anything to say to a stranger, I simply didn't say anything, and that was alright. I've heard that most people feel this way, but all my life because of my insecurities I've been over-analyzing every facet of human interaction and wondering if I was inadequate somehow. Now I simply didn't care. It was an enjoyable evening, not because I fulfilled some perceived obligation to be social or to act in a certain way towards other people, but simply because I was satisfied with how I felt and responded in that situation. I enjoyed talking with my friend, and she with me. That was the point, and that was enough. It's a whole new paradigm.

One negative side-effect so far. It is pretty difficult to fall asleep within 5 or 6 hours of taking tofisopam. A stimulating benzodiazepine... now I've seen everything.

The energy boost isent like a caffeine boost its more of just a mental clairity relief from the foggieness of the morning kinda wake ya up deal I just recently got my hands on some of this, same brand and same origin. I cant say to much about it just yet, as I've just started taking it, but it seems to be a lot like what others have described. It relives anxiety but in a very clear-headed way, and there is a very mild stimulation, though its hard to even describe as stimulation. Maybe up lifting is a better word. I'm only taking 50mgs 3 times a day and started only 4 days ago, so that seems like a pretty low dose. The anxiety relief isn't as strong or inebriating as a classic benzo, though again this maybe because of the dosage I'm at. It seems great for when you need to function in a stressful environment, but still need to keep your head on straight and remember things, were as for me your classic benzo isn't so great for such environments.

I took tofisopam (grandaxin) in Korea, for control of anxiety, took twice a day, low dose. Very good for lowering number of anxiety-type attacks. No sedation, no side effects at all. Didn't increase my energy, either, just didn't make me at all "chilled out" or sedated like Xanax. Tofisopam is also okay to take every day, unlike addictive ones like xanax. Does anyone know what other countries tofisopam is available in, as I don't live in Korea any more, but it works really well for me...?

Anybody who can get hold of Nimazepan 5 or "happy fives" would sell a ton of them. They are the most-abused benzos in the far east. I was taught to smoke meth by thai women, they always had them around. They work sublingually ie you keep it under your tongue.

Little red packets. Chinese ice dealers in the UK often carry them. Only they're all getting busted at the moment - not just for meth, but creditcard fraud and stuff I heard. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them, theyre good guys and I don't produce enough meth to supply the whole of the UK.

I haven't heard of it, but I know pagoclone is a drug that acts like a Benzodiazepine, except it only has anxiolytic properties. You can buy it here, check it out, maybe this suits you.
