What's the deal with CCs/fraud on the DNMs?

I was browsing through AlphaBay's fraud section and had a look at the first few listings that came up. This got me wondering about things like credit cards on the dark net. What is the average balance of a hacked credit card on the dark net? How do people get away with using these credit cards? Is using a credit card bought on the dark net a victim less crime or may you be stealing from a sweet, innocent old lady? And lastly, why do people sell these credit cards so cheap, is it because the risk of the balance being zero is so high?

Sorry that I have so many questions, I just find this kind of stuff intriguing. Also, thank you in advance to anyone who answers any of my questions.

You might want to read the wiki page I wrote which explains the structure of the carding ecosystem.

the balances are as random as any group of 1000 individuals who were exposed in a database hack, or got hit by a waitron with a card skimmer.

Carding is a complex subject, how to make money with them is highly variable, from online purchases, to instore work, to cashout transfers.

The crime isnt really victimless, granny might not afford her rent and meds this month because the CCCompany takes a month or two sometimes to reimburse for fraud. The stress alone that getting card jacked does someone is enough to remove the idea that there is no victim.
they sell so cheap as a matter of scale. If you hack a database and get 10k cards you arent going to wait around trying to get 10-25% of the balance. You move in bulk and get started on your next attack. Cards with known balances, cardholder info, etc etc sell for a good deal more, but it would be rare to see that on an open DNM.

Stealing credit cards is NOT a victimless crime, for one the money comes from somewhere, assuming you aren't a judge and jury, you don't get to determine that just because you stole from a big business it doesn't matter, also it causes huge issues to not have a credit card for a week, especially if someone is in a situation where they need it, the rest I don't know, but don't be an asshole, just buy the drugs

I will never do business on any market that allows or is connected to carding or carders. Scum of the fucking earth. And its essentially guaranteed that they will exit scam at some point, because they are fucking thieves. Did you really just ask if STEALING is a victimless crime? Of course it isn't.
