I can understand the motivation behind being a vendor. Huge profits, lower risk than street dealing. But what motivates people to set up a market and run it day-to-day?
EDIT: Assuming they don't exit-scam.
What is the motivation to start a market?

Most markets make around 5% comission on every sale.

Well you see burning your house down and moving to Belize is a stressful move, so once in Belize thats when you start the market and employ nerds in the USA of which are pre-determined (not LE) CMU kids they are the highest pureity of asain you can get! Anyway then you sit back and make loads of money from the fees and you can go all Mcafee on the next door neighbor and basicly just do what ever the hell you want.

the smartest thing for serious vendors to do is to create their own markets/onion pages to accept DDs with trusted buyers
the people who start markets aren't the vendors (usually)
I worked with a EU MDMA connect who really wanted his own private market- similar to what bungee54 did when he was still around.. but by the time we figured out how to do it, I had to remove myself from vending and importing

Running a market is hosting a website and scraping fees making $$$ until you exit with everyone's money. Being a vendor you have to work daily acquiring, processing, shipping products. Webmasters just kinda "let it run", fix bugs here and there... and profit, vendors have to work daily
