Would I be able to test drugs with this?

I've recently heard of this scanner device that is basically a handheld spectrometer that connects to your phone. Apparently, the main use would be to analyse your food on nutritional facts. But they claim it can also identify the active ingredients in pills etc...

Does anybody know if this might be a way to test drugs? I am tired of these reagents and stuff. Maby you could even compare vendors' quality that way?

It's called scio, it's not hard to find... Sorry if I sound shilly, just curious Love reading this sub!

Im not sure exactly what kind of spectrometer this thing is, but the most basic ones we'd use to analyse drugs in the lab or on the go is an IR spectrometer and costs about £20,000 ($25,000).

I don't think you'll get much for $250, if anything. Looks like their peddling pseudo-science, and I can say with confidence theres no way this thing will work, for anything.
