Postal inspector seizes package

I posted on dnmparanoia but this sub sees way more actions so:

Hoping for a little help and I understand a lot of "how stupid can you be" will be intertwined with hopefully some guidance. Im in an illegal state. Friend is in an illegal state and thought it would be cute/fun/nice to send me a small taste of something good since everything here sucks. I did not know how hed send it- but he red flagged the absolute hell out of the pack. Express mail, fake return address not of the zip he mailed from ETC. Really bad pack- no stealth. So postal inspector nabbed it. How do we know? He called my post office and asked- why hasnt my express mail been delivered he asks. Says he sees tracking stops at "out for delivery" but its many days past expected delivery date. (I of course lay low- I know nothing of a package is my story if I have to tell a story) Lady at PO is super nice and comes back on the line to say the PI seized it and she really doesnt know what happens next. So thats it so far. Pack was expected delivery last Saturday. I have received nothing but regular mail all week. I know pack isnt coming- but neither has a love letter. Unless you count Sunday - its past the date on the package (3 days)- so it seems easy to say no thanks- dont want some overdue not asked for pack. Amt- less than 1/8. Inside pack- very little decoy -lot of wrappings. My real name and addy. Fake return. All US states- not legal either state. Hopefully thats enough info for any advice or calming words from the community. For what its worth this is not something I regularly do so I wont be burning houses in belize over this- but am worried for my friend who I assume is on cam dropping the pack at the PO on his side. Thanks all.

That amount might not warrant any action.

I had an ounce seized, got a love letter, I called my postal inspector (only reason I called was because I thought my vendor could be scamming me with a fake love letter) and told him I didn't order anything. Never heard from him again. Nothing ever happened. Been about a year.

Burn the address, never use it again. Your friend will probably be fine because he used a fake return address, but his mistake was sending it express and I'm guessing without any smell proof barrier.

He's also a dumbass for dropping it off at the actual PO, because there are cameras, but if it's just an eighth I doubt they'll pursue it.

EDIT: Also to both of you, stop checking the tracking lol you're just throwing away your plausible deniability.

You might get a letter certified mail from Chicago stating the pack was seized. On the letter they'll leave contact info if you want to claim it. You could just refuse the letter and have it return to sender. Consider the address as burnt.

ok,

what we are talking about here? what kind of product, as i expect it to be a very personal amount, right?

when PI is telling you it got seized. you are fucked.

if your friend didnt called from a safe phone, or checked the tracking in a safe way, he is fucked also.

sure you can deny the package, but actually it wont help, calling the post office and asking why it wasnt delivered actually shows that there are people waiting for it, doesnt matter at this point who exactly called there.

well..depending on your both criminals records and the actual product/amount of product send (cant tell, only you both know) there might be happening something or not.

doesnt sound like a 'you are going to prison' story so far.

It's weed your good for the MOST part. Cops are still assholes and the war on drugs still exists.

I got caught with a pack in the mail about 10 years ago. IME, if they're going to bust you they're not going to waste days before they come. Generally they do a controlled delivery and charge you then. If it was an 1/8th they aren't going to fuck with you. What is the charge in your state for that amt? In lots of states small amounts are a ticket. It'd cost more money to do that than your fine would be. Stop Being paranoid. No one is coming. I wouldn't order to that address for a year or 2 though.
