Is Silk Road 2.0 safe to use?

I remember hearing that a bunch of the moderators from the site got arrested so is it safe to use? What's the story behind the arrests?

none of the markets are going to be 100% safe to use. Some people have their preferences on their market of choice. Some prefer the I2p network which doesnt have a centralized escrow system, while others go ahead and trust the tor system. If youre going to having small purchases then i wouldnt really worry about your safety as much as the safety of your money in which you are investing. If you do the proper steps to stay anonymous, using pgp, tails , a vpn etc. then you should be set.

What is safe to use?

For any market, even if it's "safe" now, that doesn't mean that law enforcement won't arrest others running the site, or hell, they might get a site image without taking it down for a while. Encrypt your shit and buy bitcoin anonymously.

Story behind the arrests is that DPR1 demanded id's from all his staff, when he got pinched he squealed and gave away his mods, who included DPR2 (aka sexto) who then tried to kill off teh dpr2 persona and called himself Defcon. Either way LEO is closing in on DPR2/DEfcon now so its a matter of time b4 it gets raided.
