So did the government ban the fent on HANSA? lol

when they say they "taken over" i'm assuming they meant they backdoored it all without the admins even being aware, did their shit, and spied on the market until the big day.
there's absolutely no past precedent or reason for them to ban fentanyl a day or two before it fucking goes down. i believe that the ban was a move by the legitimate staff of hansa, they just didn't know they had been compromised.
if i'm right, it's quite ironic the feds had already won when they tried to make them a lower profile target
EDIT: just to prove my point to the other users here who may be new, the FBI (yes i know the FBI was only part of the hansa bust) ran the Playpen website for a few weeks while delivering malware to users on it. so no, it's not unheard of for them to allow an illegal operation to last a little longer while trying to snag the fish using it.

Explains everything here.
They banned it. Because obviously they weren't a fan of it and one of the real og mods started a discussion about it and they basically greenlight it to keep their cover and harm reduction imo. cause they already captured fent sellers info by then might as well cut distribution while they operate the server.

imagine them seeing the 'hansa finally banned fent' thread on the reddit front page of this sub.

yeah wtf hahahah, so weird

Oddly enough, I reached out to a Hansa admin for comment on the topic and received a reply within eight hours of today's announcement.

K: It has been reported that just a few days ago the Hansa market administrators decided to ban the sale of Fentanyl. Were Dutch police involved in that at all?
H: It was a combination of things. One of the site’s employees or moderators started a discussion about this drug. We obviously also had our own opinion about it. It was a pretty good dialogue between us and the Hansa moderators to ban this from the site, and [that decision received] a lot of support from the community. But we didn’t instigate that discussion.
K: Have the Dutch police arrested anyone in connection with this investigation so far?
H: Yes, we identified several people in the Netherlands using the site, and there have already been several arrests made [tied to] Fentanyl.
[3 Points] potheadLOL:
well hardly wasn't that only like 2 days ago?
[3 Points] gritty_city:
I supposed they could have done it as a warning to other markets - a hint as to why these markets found themselves in the cross hairs of law enforcement. Honestly, we need to close the fent chapter and put it behind us. Fuck fent
[2 Points] _PrinterPam_:
Speculation: From the wording of the announcement, it seems the admins would have been unaware of the compromise.

This makes perfect sense to me. If kids died off of drugs bought from a LEO controlled site the parents would be pretty pissed.

My theory is that they currently have control of dream and wanted all the fent vendors to migrate to it before the closure of hansa. Maybe to get more info out of fent vendors or another reason but I suspect they're going for the tripple whammy
[0 Points] kookieless:
I mean fent is kinda already illegal. wdym?
Seems so.
Still let vendors sell it and users buy it though whilst under their control.....
