PSA Double and triple check your address before you give it to a vendor!!

I just caught myself giving an address to a vendor that had a typo! I had already encrypted it and pasted it into the message field but decided to be on the safe side and double check it and found the error. I had actually made a similar error with the exact same vendor the last time I ordered. That time the pack didn't show on the anticipated delivery date so I sent a concerned message to the vendor (yes, sometimes 4 days in transit is enough for concern) and they tracked it saying it had been out for delivery that day but wasn't marked delivered. Thanks to the vendors check and quick reply we were able to get things sorted with the PO (who had likely already corrected the mistake since it had a real name of a real resident on the pack and carriers know their routes) and get it delivered the next day.

I was sure I had input my address correctly but no, a typo had me off by a block! Double check especially if you're ordering when you are high!

Stay safe y'all!

So send the correct address, got it thanks. I would like to subscribe to your newsletter if possible for more good hints.

Any easy way to fix this is to just have a generic text document that says:

Hey _______,

Please Send to:

Name

Address

State Zip code

Then just put the vendor's name in each time before encrypting. Bam. No typos, ever.

I always encrypt it to myself too because I always get super paranoid after sending the encrypted message that I had a typo. Even after checking it 2-3 times.

It just makes me feel better being able to decrypt it myself too an hour later when I'm freaking out. Lol.

In the US there is a tool you can use to verify your address is correctly formatted with the +4 zip. It takes the address you put in and matches it against the USPS database and spits it back at you properly formatted just how the sorting machines like it. I know my address (sounds obvious but I mean the places I have orders sent) but I still run it through USPS' web site every single time.

Always do, and when I finally copy the PGP I always delete it, retype my address and make sure for a fact it's the right address and send it. So all in all I check about 7 or 8 times.

I forgot to put my apartment number once. Lost $100 of product that way. It sounds silly but it's easier than people think to fuck your address up. Always double check!

op, just because you're retarded beyond comprehension doesn't mean others need to be warned.
