On the topic of BTC Fog

So, I'm just wondering, how many scam reports is it going to take for it to be WoS?

I used to be of the opinion that there weren't enough subtatiated reports to truly call it a scam or selective scam, but now with Agora gone (their main source of original advertising or possibly funding) and a recent 8.5 BTC scam report, are we going to call it a scam yet?

Better yet, who is going to be blacklisted and who is gonna be WoS'd? This seriously needs to be spelled out and diligently monitored, in my opinion.

What does the community think?

I'm inclined to agree, and in fact I've been convinced that they're scammers for a long while, now. There's already a pretty clear warning about them on the Superlist. I'd be willing to make that warning a little more stern, though.

I'm honestly not sure how to do it better. I don't think it would be appropriate to put them in the sidebar "Active Market Warnings" a) because they're not a market and b) the Hidden Wiki(s) is filled with scamming "tumblers" and such and it wouldn't make sense to put them all there.

We could possibly just remove them from the Superlist altogether, and maybe add an AutoModerator automatic response to their name warning people about them, but I'm not sure what else there is to do. We don't actually have a "Wall of Shame," unfortunately.

Open to ideas.

edit: I changed the warning on the Superlist to say "proceed with EXTREME caution," which seems like a good starting point.

Yes, it was me who put up that post about bitcoin fog stealing 8.5 BTC.

If the moderators would like the screenshots, please send me an email address and I will be happy to send them. This is the best way I could think of to show proof of what happened. Unfortunately, I did not think to video capture everytime I logged onto bitcoinfog.

And yes, my account is new because I have only come on here to read and not contribute. Believe me, I am not going anywhere.

By the way, just tried to log into fog with my username and password and I am still locked out.

Probably one of the most followed guides, Windows to Tails to Purchase Walkthrough, that's linked in the /r/DarkNetMarketsNoobs sidebar recommends bitcoinfog in the Making the purchase section. It would probably be helpful to put a disclaimer in that guide to prevent more new DNM users from putting full trust into the suspect site.

I think it should be on there. I don't touch bitcoin fog with a ten foot barge pole.

what is WoS'd???

and a recent 8.5 BTC scam report

From a brand new account. That no one has ever heard of. That has no way of verifying their claims.

What does the community think?

I think that Grams is persistent.

I've used Bitcoin Fog on approximately 25 tumbles (all smallish amounts) over the last 2 years and never had an issue. That's all I've got - a data point.

[1 Points] None:

I lost .6 bitcoin to them myself.

At this point in time anyone using fog deserve to get scammed like i did. Warning should be front and center not on some fucking obscure page here.
