Suppose I want to send a vendor a nice gift, can I send him the private keys of a btc wallet so that he can get the coins in them? Pros and cons?

What do you guys think?

This vendor has been really nice to me, over weighted my order by almost 25% and awesome af.

if i just send him the btc private keys as a surprise gift so that he can use the private keys and get the coins in them?

Edit: The idea is not to tell him hey im going to give you some coins, give me your address and all that formal stuff, but rather just send over the coins as a nicely wrapped gift.

PM said vendor & inform him / her of what you wish to do. Have the vendor make you a custom listing & send him / her the BTC that way. I believe this would be the safest way for both of you :-)

BTW....Name the vendor for being a damn good vendor my friend :-)

Yes, that would absolutely work. Just make sure that the privkey is correct and in a proper export format, and ensure that you encrypt it to them yourself on your own computer.

EDIT: You should tell them to sweep the address or otherwise confirm that they've gotten the coin, so that you're not stressing about having just thrown coin away or not. Conversely, if you get no confirmation that the coins were taken, make sure you keep the privkey around in case you want to take them back yourself.
