How can I not lose my persitent pgp?

I have TAILS with persistence and it isn't updating no matter what. I get the error that it cannot update and to run the debug but nothing fixes it. Last time When I tried to do it, when I was done all that I did was create a new TAILS w/persistence and nothing saved.

Is there a way to backup my all of my saved pgp stuff so that if it happens again I do not have to start from scratch?

I originally had tails but apparently the usb wasn't big enough to manual update. I followed all steps and still lost all of my stuff. I just want to start fresh, but still have my pgp and whatnot. How can this happen, or can it?

you can export your pgp keys to an external usb. then when your new persistence volume set up you can import it.

i wish i knew this before my tails usb corrupted.

I had to manually update, just copied my pgp key to a usb and had my btc wallet seed written down so just downloaded the new tails os and then installed over the previous tails os and then just imported my keys & wallet over into the new persistence.
