[SUGGESTION] Overview for how much of a given drug counts as "personal use" in different countries.

Here's what would be nice:

A continually updated overview of how much of any given drug counts as "personal use" in different countries. Either on here or as an off-board resource.

Say, for example for LSD, "[Country A] - 500ug," "[Country B] - 250 ug," and so on, A-Z, all the way down. And ditto for, well, pretty much every other drug there is.

I find interesting how repressive is the law in the first world. Clearly that is not the reason they are developed countries. Let's take a look in the, third world, undeveloped, developing, etc, countries.

Colombia

Cannabis: 30 grams

Hash: 5 grams

Cocaine: 1 gram

Quaaludes: 2 grams

Nothing related to synthetics. Possesion according to these amounts is not illegal, unless LE can prove your intent to sell it.

Our jails are full with all kind of prisoners, but in the case of drugs, they are distributors, dealers, manufacturers, and so on.

What says the Supreme Court about the drug's consumer?

"The addict is a sick who must be object of protection and rehabilitation, which is outside of the punitive aspect."

I'd love to know the UK's ecstasy laws between personal and supply. It seems to change case by case

In my country, its not cut and clear. You could have two empty bags and get a distribution charge. or you could have an ounce and it be personal

[5 Points] auntie_:

This is extremely difficult to do for the U.S., as you'd not only need state by state info but even city by city. Throw in local municipalities too.

Further complicating the analysis is the circumstances of the possession. For instance, let's say that 20g of weed is considered a personal use quantity for which one would receive a fine if caught with that amount. Knowing this, you divide up that 20g into 20 individual one gram packages. If you're caught with all of those packages, you'll most likely be charged with possession with intent to deliver, even tho the amount is within the "personal use" amount. Same would apply if you have all your personal use drugs in one bag but kept that bag around your digital scale.

For Germany its varied in each state and changes often, for many drugs its also not defined what a personal amount is.

Do the Nordic countries have "personal use" laws?

ETA: OP here BTW, thanks a million to everyone who has contributed so far!

If you are in the UK, this might help you out

[1 Points] chrisname:

Generally I think it's at a judge's discretion what counts as personal use. I believe in the UK the guideline is that if a judge decides you have more than what a reasonable person would use by themselves in a month (again, judge's discretion), you may be charged with intent to supply.

Poland - 0.0000 Gram - that's right. You can go to jail for every amount. For example, up to 3 years in jail for 0.1g cannabis. There is no anything like "personal use".

Almost every known drug is banned. Even salvia divinorum and kava kava (I think it's only country in the world, where you can go to jail for kava).

From June there will be banned almost every RC, including 25-x, 2C-x, 4-AcO-DMT, 4-HO-MET, 5-MeO-DMT, α-PVP, all synthetic cannabinoids and more. Full list here: http://pokazywarka.pl/prf8br/

And what do you think? What are the effects? More and more people are doing drugs (sometimes I think that everyone, with not exceptions) and they are taking worse and worse shit. 3-mmc, α-PVP, fake cannabis or mixed with something - it's everywhere, because it's still legal.

It's just fucking sad. I think LSD, mushrooms, mdma and cannabis are really something. But even people who want something better are actually buying nbomes and some dangerous shit that is supposed to be ecstasy.

I think this is the worst country for doing drugs in Europe.

A decent resource here for U.S. users, state-by-state.

in the Netherlands you wont be prosecuted if you have less than 0.5grams whatever the substance. Experienced that first hand

[1 Points] consumerrr:

Italy

The funny thing is that the law is base on the measure of "active substance". So they estimate that on average coke is 45% pure and 750mg of active substance equal 1.6 grams.

this is the table: http://i.imgur.com/ZSkK47I.png

(row 4 is maximum "active substance" in milligrams, row 5 is "gross" quantity in grams or number of tabs).

If you stay within these quantities, worst than can happen to you is that you loose your driving license for a few months

4 grams max in Canada for drugs like coke and H
