Is it suspicious to tip my mailman?

He never makes me sign anything and he's always on time never lazy, he just slips the pack in my doorcrack and leaves. I wanna hug him and do something nice for him tbh. So should I hand him something next time he's around?

Tipping your fucking mailman? That's white people activity right there.

[42 Points] f_leaver:

Depends on the person - some might find it suspicious, some might not.

It's certainly safer to not do it other than around Christmas.

Letter Carrier – The U.S. Postal Service forbids mail carriers from accepting cash, and says gifts must be under $20 in value.

If you get a Christmas card from your postman, he's soliciting a tip.

Christmas it is normal. Leave $20 where he puts packs

If you want to do something nice during the year you can leave a sealed chilled bottle of water. The vehicles don't have AC and keeping hydrated makes your day much better.

Who tips their mailman? I have honestly never heard of this ever. Where do you live that you would ever tip a person who gets paid a salary? You tip the wait staff because they get paid far less than minimum wage, you tip people who make shit money. The average mail carrier makes a decent living and has a government pension that's bankrupting the postal service. Not to mention it would definitely be suspicious, unless all your neighbours do it, you shouldn't do it. What your don't want to do is make yourself memorable, you want to be just another face in the crowd, another package in a sea of mailboxes.

I tip mine but only for Christmas and usually just $20-40 and a simple thank you card. I got a stocking of coal for the PO box carriers though . Always marking shit delivered and not putting it in my box until later in the day or even the next day.

Yes, it would be suspicious UNLESS you wait until xmas. Then you're just being a nice customer. ;)

[3 Points] My6thRedditusername:

yes.

also you would be kind of a jerk to not give him a tip around christmas time. that's the only time of year they kind of expect it. if you want to get on his good side and get your mail on time, tip your mailman at christmas and he will remember it. (also this is called being a decent human who treats people well and not only for their own benefit)

if you don't, he will remember that too. you'll still get your mail, but it might come a day or two slower than your neighbor gets their mail. also he will mutter "asshole" to himself everytime he sees you.

if you think tipping him is going to somehow keep you immune from or safe from your mail getting intercepted.. you're kind of an idiot. he doesn't give a shit what's in your envelope from grandma on your birthday, your package from amazon, or trash bag of ecstacy pills from amsterdam. why would he? how would he know even if he did care. unless youve really isse dhim off and you've got a package of cocaine that's spilling onto his lap, why would that thought even enter your mind?

why do you want to tip a postman you don't like in the middle of may in the first place?

"hmm what's the date today? may 28th? i wonder if i should go give $20 to that cashier at the supermarket who is a jerk and i hate today. would that be weird?"

noooo.. why would doing something like that be weird? lol

ps: if you do tip him, he'll probably take it. but if you're expecting some kind of gain from it.. i can already tell you what he's going to be thinking in his head if you do: what the fuck? why did that kid just give me money randomly? fucking weirdo. , looks like he's picking up my bar tab tonight." and you will continue getting mail as normal lol. possibily with some werider looks from him when he delivers it because some people might think you were trying to proposition them for sex if you did that.

Mailman doesnt know hes doing anything special. How about the vendor who might of done you a favor by breaking the law for and with you, dont they deserve a tip?

[2 Points] whatisopsec:

Tip him for Christmas

[2 Points] None:

yeah , tipping the mailman is a huge flag ....just let him do his job , its a good one benefits, good pay ,days off on holidays ....they don't need the tip

[2 Points] BestOfCan:

On any other day than Christmas it's not suspicious, it's just weird...

[2 Points] None:

Yes

[2 Points] FraterP:

Lick his taint, youll feel better.

[2 Points] PMforDrugsByMail:

Seems suspicious to me.

[2 Points] WentworthlessK:

Tip him on holidays. He's doing his job, not trying to make friends.

[1 Points] papervoid:

Do you look like a drug addict? Is it Xmas?

[1 Points] None:

I definitely would love to, but I too found it suspicious. Perhaps leave him a Starbucks gift card or gift card of some sort.

[1 Points] theworldsend69:

Give him a card and some money on holidays, like 4th of July Christmas, times like that. Not just randimly tip him

[1 Points] IndiaEtiz:

Nah. I told mine a side street the other day to get his next neighborhood quicker.

[1 Points] None:

Well fuck me I wanna be a mailman now. Apparently I may get some slutty dick sucks

[1 Points] calvin479:

My mom used to leave gifts on or after a holiday. A christmas gift would not go unappreciated and would not be suspicious at all.

[1 Points] bobbiggs69:

Get him a gift card at Christmas, lots of people do that. Tipping is hugely suspicious.

[1 Points] DooshNozzzle:

anything out of the ordinary is suspicious. just don't tip him even though you want to. a gift card during the holiday season, maybe.

I've def dropped my mailman a 5'er or so before. For example, they delivered mail twice to me today. First time I was crying because I thought I was going to be sick till Tuesday. I guess my package came and he drove back over and gave it to me. He does this a lot, I think he might know what's up. Now I'm sitting here smiling about the awesome stuff I got from AllGoldEverything(I'm a sellout).
