Nucleus exit scams, and no one says anything.

Clearly we have become desensibilized to markets exit scams. Poof, everyone loses hundreds, thousands of dollars, but its ok, we move on like nothing happened.

How can we expect markets not to exit scam with such a no-fucks-given attitude?

I know there's nothing we can do, but still, everytime a market exits, there is less and less public reactions.

No one cares anymore?

just Xanax things

[41 Points] DNMthrowaway187:

What's the point of crying over it when there is no realistic way to fix the problem or get revenge.

Do you have the Admins doxx? If not then there is fuck all you can do besides send a strongly worded email

[21 Points] gettinouttathegame:

I don't see how screaming bitching and cussing @ Nuke will have any impact on the next market that does it."Well shit I wanna run off with these peoples millions of dollars but they'll scream, bitch, and cuss if I do,so I guess I better not." Plenty has been said, nothing changed. Personally I haven't reached enough time yet, Im not 100% convinced it is gone, but pretty close. And even if so I'll hang onto my dignity and act like a grownup and be a little more cautious in the future as its my fault alone I left coin in my wallet.

[17 Points] drugsinabox:

I don't care because I only use multisig. Anyone still using traditional escrow should expect this type of thing to happen.

Edit: Go ahead and downvote but it's true. Multisig is easy as fuck, there's no excuse not to use it. 2-of-3 removes all incentive for exit scams.

[10 Points] Anti-Hero_AU:

Give it till next week at least--it's been down like this long before but previously, we heard from the minions who supported the site saying shit's cool.

Not looking good this time 'round. I'm feelin' ya

[10 Points] Thriz_whistle:

The throwing of hissy fits does not prevent exit scams.

The use of multisig will if it is ever widely adopted.

[5 Points] None:

didn't loose any money so idc

personally ur a fucking idiot if u keep anything in a market wallet

[3 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

The site went down on wednesday. Its now Saturday and all the bitcoin is still there.

There IS something we can do, ignore all the surrender monkeys. If we let them go, they get away. If we follow the bitcoin they don't.

When a site just goes dark we don't know what happenned. Arrest? Heart attack? Hardware failure? Hosting gone?

Its got none of the signs of an exit scam. The most important thing is to keep the server out of the hands of LE.

Bitcoin isn't moving. https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/NucleusMarket

See?

[2 Points] Lightmang2:

I lost 200 bucks and I only blame myself for not utilizing the multi sig options available. I've dodged every exit in the past and didn't use multi sig out of pure laziness. I got what I had coming. Glad it was only a personal order.

[2 Points] wantmytinderhunnies:

It's a darknet market. The owners are probably not stupid enough to let themselves get doxx'd, and at any point are able to freely exit scam, because of how the market works. Any vendor can scam at any time, too. You will not get your coins back, and you will not get back at the person who scammed, unless you somehow have info on them. Multisig is some extra security.

[2 Points] ankarakna:

Honestly, before anyone really freaks the fuck out, wait for the money to move. If it does, they either got hacked or exit scammed. If the money doesn't move for months from now and the site doesn't get back up - popped by the 5-0.

What do you want us to say? What is there for us to do?

[2 Points] Bartimeo:

a few days ago some dude said it in a thread and everyone told him to fuck off, that no way that would happen with 4/20 coming.

Also why is my boy B.Jay in the banner? kek

[2 Points] DirtyHippy69:

Yes let me make butthurt posts about how the Nuc admins are gonna get skullfucked when I find them, that will definitely make other markets think twice before exit scamming.

[2 Points] None:

Because we are tired of it, bitching won't get us back our money. No need to dwell on the negatives.

[2 Points] octomarvel:

AK the type of dude to rape a chick and complain that she ain't orgasm.

=)

[2 Points] Canna-Juice:

Are you serious? This marketplace has been accused of evertyhing imagineable throughout its existence.

I personally have accused them of a fair amount of shit, most all of which they were responsible for....a little they were not.

People have been .... predicting this since Day 1.

I'm only sad cause this is where most of our coin was stashed in escrow and...... :*( this was our very first shop.

R.I.P. Nucleus you filthy bastard

[1 Points] aboutthednm:

Yeah, what are you going to do about it?

Sure, it sucks. Whining, crying and complaining about it will achieve nothing. Using any market that requires deposit of funds is a gamble with split odds at best. You know this before doing business there.

When abraxas went I was pretty mad too, there's nothing I can do about it save for being way more cautious next time.

So I ask you, what do you think we should be doing here? Cry on each others shoulder and give each other pats on the back?

[1 Points] MexicanCuntWhore:

The worst part is ordering from sloppy, idiotic vendors like partypure who got too many orders for their cognitive capacity, didn't grab their funds off the site because they are worthless little lazy shits, so they had a shit ton of escrow sitting there because mailing off 10 packs was "too much" for them. Stupid little bitch/asshole.

There - how was that for a hissy fit?

[1 Points] justwonderrinng:

That's how it goes down these days, no one gives a fucking shit. Hopefully the masses move to Hansa.

[1 Points] kjellcore:

f*cking scammers! just need be more careful, don't keep on market's wallet btc, have a deal with reliable vendors only and always use PGP.

[1 Points] trynakick:

Honestly AK, you're one of the few with enough clout to potentially do something about it. When I'm bored I kick around ideas for 'market insurance' that I can never quite figure out b/c I lack the technical expertise and I always hit a wall at trust less and anonymous.

But something like... If the top ten vendors held a multisig wallet with the market admins with... Let's say, 5 keys. You all would only come to that market, and you'd be exclusively on that market. Every week or two, 4 of the vendors randomly and publicly chosen would use their key to release the markets transaction fees to the admins. The markets have a built in large user base (the people who use the top 10 vendors), which would attract smaller and medium vendors. Basically the idea would be to create a 'mutually assured destruction' mechanism. Lining up all the incentives is the hard part.

Alternatively... We all Trust Grams (ok... Not all of us) and some other BTC tumblers. Grams could offer a BTC 'insurance fund' for a monthly premium, i, as a buyer, could buy the insurance. Then keep some recorded my market balance and any transactions (I know, I know... Record of illegal activity, this is a stumbling block) then, if a market exits, or more likely, a vendor, I could put in a claim. Now that I think about this, it probably would not work with a market exit because those are the equivalent of the Indian Ocean tsunami, a catastrophic event that would render the insurance insolvent. But for vendor exits, it could work.

People have been desensitized, yes. Ever since Abraxas I think I've been noticing it. But now it seems nobody cares, honestly. The bitchers/moaners/quitters got out of the game during Evo's exit (and the small few others that followed).

[1 Points] J0NJ0NES:

It's seems as though you're petitioning for people to act like chickens with their heads cut off. Why?

You make assertions of fact in your post, that in my opinion, are far from proven at the time of this writing both with respect to the status of Nucleus and the alarm people feel. And from these two false (or at least yet unproven) assertions, you seem to be pushing us towards jumping to conclusions, making rash decisions, and over all behaving in a counter productive way.

The Market Superlist had a problem similar to this. It used to be a worthless page full of biased and unverifiable accusations of who's good and who's not. We can not be surprised that it was ultimately found out that some mods were abusing their power and using the list to personally profit. IMO, the list is still not perfect, but at least now we've managed to clean out the 'headless chicken' factor.

Your post sounds to me like you're trying to bring back the days of the headless chicken to this subreddit. I respectfully disagree with your position, and I hope other members of this community can see the value in my perspective.

Everyone should understand that none of these sites are ever going to stay up. Either they get popped, hax0red, or admins run an exit scam. All should hedge their funds carefully.

[1 Points] teddybearortittybar:

It's the cost of doing business at this point. You get over it.

[1 Points] speedfleek:

This is why I prefer to direct deal. At least if an exit scam happens, my drug dealer gets a retirement present. Not a random group of people who coded a website.

[1 Points] NODWASNTONDRUGSINC:

desensibilized

My new favorite AK-ism, replacing mediatised.

[1 Points] Dutchdrugz:

We care, but it seems to be the cost of doing business in an anon environment, I know most people online are still honest, so that gives me hope :)

[1 Points] abrakazan:

What's going to happen? Most marketplaces that are successful don't exactly have a business address attached as well. Has anyone ever successful gotten a dox on a marketplace that has scammed us? It's bullshit but I don't think any truly what to do?

[1 Points] StarForce420:

Scum is sucks. Need more rewiev about wendors and we win them. the same way I believe that administrators marketplace should warn about scame as do it on the tochka. If all admin will do this all be good.

[1 Points] thomascheer:

We changed to clearnet after abraxas

[1 Points] dandydaniels:

I give a fuck - I was buying bars from YOU and the moment I hit purchase, the fucking site went down.

I'd yell it from a mountain top with a megaphone how fucking devistated I am but I don't think it would help. I'm trying to keep us fed and put a roof over our head and that royally fucked me.

[1 Points] NightSymphony:

Complaining won't solve anything. If they did exit-scam, the best thing to do is invest some time in learning about multisig and how it saves your money. a little bit of time saves you alot of money. With multisig markets around, it's crazy that standard escrow still exists or at the least still common. 2 of 3 multisig needs to become the new norm and standard escrow should be a fringe concept. Acropolis market recently introduced standard escrow, but we will always recommend using our multisig escrow.

[1 Points] TollyOnDank:

c'est la vie

[1 Points] SlaterK:

I can just imagine a situation when nucleus started out that they paid someone to code for them and he left a back-door in his code so that he could cash out whenever he wanted to. Now they are too embarrassed to admit they got fucked and are hunting him down to get the BTC back. Far Fetched I know but its gonna be a blockbuster movie.

[1 Points] hooptydumpty:

"we have become desensibilized to markets exit scams."

[1 Points] Color_Black:

/u/AlpraKing ah kimosabe, there is something that we could do. Maybe not we, but /u/Vendor_BBMC has recently made several comments about how he found the Nucleus admin moving money to a Localbitcoins account and selling some BTC, apparently with addresses and transactions. A lot can be done with this. Maybe not recover money, but to put an end to the madness that DNM admins can pull runners with impunity. I request you to read what I just posted. If BBMC is not talking out of his ass about this one, this could be an ace card. He might ignore my post because it's calling him out on specifically something very significant he's claimed, but he won't ignore you. In either case, I hope it's actually true. I don't buy a lot of what he says, but this is critical and someone needs to compel him to act or advise him on what to do with this info that doesn't violate doxx rules but puts the fear of god into the Nuke Boss for exit scamming.

So, to answer your question, I care, and I have some solutions.

[0 Points] CynicalElephant:

To be fair, they still haven't moved the bitcoin from the wallet. So if they exit scammed, they made 0 money off of it.
