No free VPN is worth using.

In addition, the debate as to whether a VPN is necessary, or even beneficial in the first place, is still very active. You are relying on the VPN provider to NOT keep logs, otherwise you're in trouble.

If you are using Tor and Tails, that is enough for 99% of buyers.

If you know what you are doing then yes. Get one that uses OPENVPN. ExpressVPN for example.

But if you are not sure just use TAILS. There is more to hiding than a VPN...

Ask yourself how does a free VPN make money? I only use a VPN for non-DNM related activity.

Privacy is important regardless if we're talking about browsing the DNMs or the legit side of the web. It's always a good idea to invest in something that encrypts your traffic and protects your data from preying eyes. The advantage of a VPN when compared to amnesic OSs, like Tails, is the ease of use.

I would suggest looking for a VPN based in a country with no data retention laws but if you're not ready to spend 50$ then a combination with a Free VPN + Tor Browser should do the trick.

For DNMs browsing I suggest nothing else than Tails.

If you're just buying and using basic common sense, TOR will be just fine on its own. If you want to protect all your computer traffic then a a paid VPN is always safer than a free one.
