[Complaint/Warning] Lots of Markets down. Something strange is happening.

I can't get on middle earth, nor agora. And on Nucleus, the forum is down. It is lagging real bad on the market and the site is almost completely down. I can get on it if I keep refreshing sometimes. Is something going on? I check on dnstats and it seems most markets are down.

What is going on? The LARGEST DNM shut down and within a week most of those users/vendors have moved to these markets that were used to having 1/10th the popularity they are getting now.

Nucleus wasn't nearly as popular. Blackbank wasn't either. Middle Earth wasn't either.

Agora is always having it's downtime. Even so, it's more popular than ever with evo gone.

There is not something crazy going on here.

I can tell you now that my site, dnstats has been getting a lot more traffic than usual upwards of 10x so evo refugees tied with agora being agora shows there are lots of lost people.. Its likely that these markets that are offline are ramping up to support the influx.

[15 Points] GrandWizardsLair:

Evolution is gone: this has sent many ex-Evo users in search of new markets, or led them to use their #2 marketplace more frequently.

Because of this traffic surge, Agora and BlackBank (the former #2 and #3 marketplaces) are down for maintenance. This means we now have Agora and BlackBank users looking elsewhere for their drugs. Hence, another traffic surge which appears to have knocked out Middle Earth and brought Nucleus to its knees.

The supply of marketplaces is diminishing while the number of interested patrons remains constant. This increases the demand for server resources on the surviving markets, most of which never expected this kind of server load.

Look, it's Tor.

It's the nature of the services, it's the nature of the network. Things go down, things especially SLOW down and things disappear constantly.

It's the lifecycle of services like this.

Reddit has done nothing but ramp up speculation and attract attention to these services and everyone really just needs to calm down and give things more than 24 hours before making 5 posts across 4 subreddits about how you can't log on.

What do you do when you just gained a shit ton of new users? You time your maintenance with the big boys so you don't risk losing your new members to them..

Yep - having the same issues - i updated Tor Browser today, but I would not have thought that would have an impact...

Very strange stuff...signed into Nucleus and saw I had .29 btc which was odd because I had .000 earlier.

I didn't make a deposit or dispute anything. Reloaded and it was .22 and noticed "2" next to the order box. Hadn't ordered anything either.

Reloaded again, and site was down. Logged in again and saw .000 btc and no order notifications...

Its bit weird isn't it, hopefully they will be up when the UK/EU working day is over overwise there will be some unhappy people.

[1 Points] easymed:

Everyone download the update of Tor today? Seemed a bit fishy to me as my anti-virus get rebuffing it .....

[1 Points] heyfreshhhhh:

.onion services and heavy traffic do not mix.

It's simple.

Alt.black.helicopters aliens and the CIA. Strange indeed.

[1 Points] 13tom13:

you dont think that with agora and evo down the new traffic to ME, Nucleus and BB is giving the sites issues? the sky isn't falling yet tor sites cant deal with lots of traffic often sr1 used to have issues
