Who stands to gain the most from the DNM DDOS attacks?

So I can see hackers DDOSing and demanding BTC to stop. That makes sense for a single market. I'm not sure I buy hackers doing it across multiple DNMs, however. From a LE perspective, a DDOS attack would presumably be a pretty cheap way to shut down a given DNM or multiple DNMs. What do you folks think?

could be a market paying for DDOS'ing other markets... It's not like that's never happened before.

i paid like 5 btc to /u/ForLol_Serious for starting the ddos attacks.

so far i received 27 btc as payments from markets to stop them. for sure they claim they dont pay, but they did. too bad i wont stop.

a lesson to be learned.

You would think LE wouldn't want to DDOS a marketplace. It would just force users to direct deal and make things more difficult in catching people. At least with a market they can pinpoint who the big dealers are, admins and other big players.

So far amidst all the DDOS issues Sourcery or all its mirrors has had the most uptime despite what the deepdotweb site is saying, in my experience of constantly checking other sites.

LE wouldn't do this. They're more interested in catching criminals than preventing crime.

what bit dream ddosing everyone else so people are forced onto their site. they have the cash for a botnet...

How markets mitigate ddos attacks? Can some experts help them? After AB seems how most operators of these markets are unexperienced. I think even some general advices from experts would be helpful.

FBI.

I agree 100%. There's no doubt in my mind that it is LE.

For one, I dont know shit about hacking but I'm pretty sure the amount of computing power to sustain these DDOSs for this long simultaneously would be pretty large. Larger than most hackers could/would accumulate. But who do we know for sure could? Gubbermints.

Two, the timing with all the other LE attention is too great to ignore. We just sustained the largest attack by LE on the DNMs in history a few months ago. And now you want me to believe that they just up and left and it's some random haxxors doing this? O.o

Third, if these attacks are being done by hacker for ransom, then why haven't any market staff made it known to us that they were contacted for ransom? TR was phished, that had nothing to do with DDOSs. I'm not aware of any other markets mentioning that they confirmed contact by the supposed hackers asking for ransom. If there's no ransom being asked, then that leaves only one group of people who would do this just for the lolz.

Though as some people mention it is true that LE is more interested in making seizures, think about all the politcal and internal pressure they are under. We KNOW that LE have DDOS'd the markets in the past, many times. They know that their DDOSing worked, and I am certain that the option of using their resources to DDOS us into oblivion has been raised more than once at meetings between government officials as possible options to destroy us. Besides, they know that there is 10x more work involved in DN vendor busts than there is in real life. Not to mention there are 10x more IRL vendors than there are here. Simply put, they dont need us to make drug busts on. But they are under a lot of pressure to destroy us and the quickest and easiest way to do that is what they're doing right now.
