How would someone smuggle a cargo container into a South American nation?

The contents are irrelevant, but it's nothing crazy. It doesn't have to be a cargo container necessarily, but 200-400 lbs of goods that can't taken through customs.

Maybe there's a better subreddit to ask?

Addendum: If the specific nation matters, Peru.

Air drop? Mule over the mountains? If it can be broken up do the 400 lbs in smaller packages of 10lbs each. Pleasure yacht, take it ashore in the dingy. Trunk of a car, disguised.

I believe Costa Rica and several other South American countries allow for 2 - 40 ft standard sea cans aka shipping containers to be imported in of their person belongings. Couches, TV's, etc. Import taxes and duty are very pricey so it is not uncommon.

Can I just tell you that if you get as far as trying to bribe somebody you'll wind up in trouble - the best outcome will be that they rob you blind and your container just fucks off. That's the best outcome.

The chance of you getting a container load of cocaine from Peru to South Africa and then up to North Africa and over to mainland Europe without being robbed, killed or arrested are essentially 0% - people are doing that already.

Lots of lube and patience

Most of the incoming containers are not really inspected, especially not in ports that have no cooperations with the US or European Countries. So easiest way would probably be to avoid these ports (especially ports that take part in the Container Security Initiative (CSI) or in the Container Control Program (CCP)), as these often do large scale X-Rays of suspicious containers. In other ports, the chance of getting inspected is probably very low.
