There was a post on this already.

I meant to post about it the day it came out, but now seems a better time since i had the chance to make an opinion. I dislike Jessie. I dont hate it, but I liked Wheezy more.

{fancy personal issues}

  1. window fade ins and outs as the pop up
  2. that thing that happens when you drag your cursor into the top-left corner for a few seconds. Having that limited to 1 key on the keyboard is good enough.
  3. I don't like the grey color of Jessie.

{other issues}

  1. The video player doesn't load my playlist file anymore. I have to add them manually to the "Now playing list"
  2. They took the shortcuts away from the top task-bar. This was extremely convient since the only things i opened when i booted up tails were those programs most of the time.
  3. The sort style of the Applications menu. This one isn't too bad, just takes some getting use to.
  4. Places menu doesn't show individual mountable partitions anymore. I have to mount the partitions manually, through Disks, then the appear in the Places menu to explore afterwards. instead of letting me click on them from the Places menu, enter partition password, enter admin password, then it mounts.
  5. The time format aggravates me to no end. 24 hour with no date, just the day.

I like how it looks and it's functions but for some reason TAILS 2.0 wouldn't recognize the photo I needed to upload to localbitcoins. It just wouldn't/couldn't identify the photo and I had to use the previous version of TAILS to do the job..

Not sure what was going on but it was kind of annoying.

Is updating nessisary?

I did not know that Riseup.net hosted code repositories, specifically TAILs code repo. I use them as a private Email and VPN service, this just solidifies my trust in them :).

https://labs.riseup.net/code/projects/tails/repository

If anyone is interested in them, you will need an invite from two current members. Which is a little shady to me because if one person is 'found out' then they have your acquaintances as well, but they seem more trustworthy than most providers out there.

Side question: Does anyone know how to sync a GIT repo (A Linux distro that hasn't been updated in a couple years) and then update all the packages to the newest versions?
