Drug prohibition isn't a real thing

I don't believe that LE is so dumb and evil to go after simple and unharmful drug users. Most of drug users, what I have know is very friendly people with normal everyday lives, who can't harm even bugs and are afraid to get in fight. How can anyone possibly think that all drug users and dealers are some kind of ego-centric, cold-blooded criminals like murderers and thieves. I don't believe that if you are good person, than someone will be willing to put you in the jail for a few grams of plants or powder. Why there is so much drug forums (we are for harm reduction) but no pedophiles forums (we don't harm children, we love children), even they both are enforced? I don't believe it anymore. Drug prohibition is fake, we are all humans.

What in all fuck is this nonsense? Hundreds of thousands of people are in jail right now for a plant or a few grams of powder.

Saying that you don't believe drug prohibition is real and that LE doesn't lock up "good" drug users is the dumbest and most naive thing I've ever seen posted on this sub.

What? I don't follow. Prohibition is something being illegal, which drugs are. wtf do you mean by pedophile forums? You don't believe that they'll arrest you for a couple grams of powder just because you're a good person? haha I wish there was room for two in the bubble you live in

Tell that to the Jews.

Most if not all drug laws just exist for state profit.

[2 Points] DrugProbiscustion:

It has nothing to do with people being stupid or good or bad policy, it has to do with government. When you have an organization who's sole focus is to grow in power, they are going to do that.

And there's nothing wrong with that. McDonald's seeks to expand it's power by serving you the best goddamn burger you can get for $1. Walmart and UPS do it by making awesome changes in logistic efficiency so you can get anything for cheap. Hell, even the banking organizations during the 2008 credit crisis are blameless because companies are going to do what they're gonna do.

The aberration, the perversion, is government. They do it through usage of force, elimination of competition, and intimidation. Forcing someone at gun point to pay for something is slavery, even if you are forcing a slave to do a good thing, it's still immoral. Forcing someone to pay for social welfare is just as immoral as forcing someone to pay for a foreign humanitarian police action, roads, etc.

Governance is a service that can be provided, and the private market provides it all the time - private/toll roads, third party mediation, private security. You already pay for a security firm, the problem is you are forced to pay for it. And when companies can force you to buy their product, there is nothing stopping them from forcing you to buy more than you want.

It is in the nature of government, to keep expanding as much as possible. The term 'limited government' is an oxymoron (or self-limiting government, rather). Constantly, the state security service takes more money, keeps churning bullshit reasons for why we need to be giving so much money to them, and keeps manufacturing reasons for their existence and expansion.

A small private security firm would be prevented from bloating into a surveillance state that kidnaps people for non-violent 'crimes' because people would simply stop giving such a perverted organization money. But when you can just force people to buy your product, and people have no competitive entity to choose from, that organization, government, will just grow, and grow, and grow.

This is what government does. The entire concept of 'legalizing drugs' is absolute bullshit. It's the same reason that the entire concept of 'rights' are bullshit too. You have no authority to grant me a right. What kind of asshole are you to say that you grant me the right to speak?

You can have anarchy without chaos. We live in anarchy in most of our day to day lives - our interactions with our family, friends, and neighbors. You don't need regulations to make sure you are a decent person to those you interact with. You buy and sell many things to your friends and family with zero regulation.

No one ever looks at third world countries or crisis situations around the world and says 'Gee, if only they had more government, that would've saved them!' Government is the problem, it's always the problem. Right now government is what's responsible for pissing off massive groups of people in the world. 9/11 definitely was not deserved, I am not saying that at all, but these people reacted in the same way they were treated. People treat others as they have been treated. It is always the existence of the state and the actions of the state that has caused these wars and conflicts.

If you use the DNMs or understand drug prohibition is a joke, you should understand that government entirely is a joke and be an anarcho-capitalist or some form of minarchist.

For the inevitable counterpoints:

The logic is that those who use drugs, are more likely to commit violent crimes. Which is not true, but let's assume it is. The same logic could be applied to say that other groups who are more likely to commit violent crimes should be locked up before committing those violent crimes. It would simply be a crime to be a member of a particular group. You would be enslaved or locked up or disenfranchised simply because of your status in a particular group.

Hell, we should just lock up all black people, because, you know, they're more likely to commit a crime than white people in the US by this twisted logic. Even better, just make being black a crime! Oh wait, at a time it was...

There are so many stupid laws created just to give the police and state more power. A gun is completely legal. Having a firearm 'in the commission of a felony' makes as much sense as 'having a soap bar in the commission of a felony'. 'Possession of burglary tools'. Possession of crack. If you murder someone, whether on crack or otherwise, you go to jail for a long time.

[1 Points] None:

Detention centers make profit off their residents. Police probably get kickbacks.

[1 Points] None:

This has little to do with the qualities of the people charged (outside of racial profiling), and more to do with the desire to meet full-occupancy quotas in the continuation of private prison profit, archaic civil seizure laws that allow cops to earn large amounts of money (aka dirty cop work) from the possessions of offenders (cops could be considered as thieves) and maintaining FUD.

[1 Points] bernardo44:

Uh, definitely not fake. I know many, many people who have been jailed and saddled with felonies for life over personal amounts, sometimes just residue. It's damned shameful.

[1 Points] IAMQUASAR:

The entire justice system is set up to drain taxpayer dollars to fight a drug war that A: Cannot be won and B: Penalizes non-violent drug offenders. Prison is FILLED with people who got busted for simple possession. Plus most LE are assholes who live to bust people who just mind their own business.

[1 Points] None:

When I was living in Okalhoma in the early 2000's a vast majority of prisoners were non-violent drug users. The town I lived in, that piticular prison was so full they had inmates sleeping on cots outside of cells.
