Whilst this isnt exaaactly DNM related, it could definitely apply to products bought on there. And i know the lurkers of this thread would be best suited to answer this querie..
So i purchased a copy of "the ketamine papers" on amazon, a new book from MAPS about alternative therapy, some trip reports and philosophy surrounding the drug and psychedelics in general.
I ordered it to a PO box, which was fine with amazon.
But today i recieved an email from Qantas Freight Enterprises Melbourne
"Good Morning,
As per customs request, please provide your FULL ADDRESS in order for us to report this item for assessment. "
ok so sure typical dnm user freak out, but hmm they attached a PDF copy of my receipt for the book which clearly mentions the title...
I understand if australia post would like my address as the item is shipping through a service that doesnt cater to PO boxes. but Customs wants my full address? why? dont they just look at the thing and see if its a drug or not then pass it on its way?
I havent yet replied as i dont wish to show intent to recieve nor provide a residential address to customs about a drug book im getting.
In the eyes of customs i see the question raised "Why would any law abiding citizen want to read a book about a drug we are not supposed to have legal access to in AUS?"
My logical response would
Maybe im looking way too into this, but ive been sober for months and with a clear logical mind definitely think this seems odd. any rational explainations why CUSTOMS wants a full address for a book? (and not postal services)

UPDATE: After all this, the book was sent as normal to my PO Box - WTF?
I don't think there would be any harm it's only a book
