The case of the unknown bitcoin wallet...

Hi all

I used BitMixer IO recently to clean coins to put into a darknetmarket.

BitMixer provided a forwarding address which I needed to send my coins to get mixed to sent to a DNM.

Funny thing I sent the coins to that forwarding address and they are still sitting there.

I emailed Bitmixer and they have no record of that address on the system.

Is it Malware? Am I getting scammed by Bitmixer?

Any suggestions to find out a solution would be great.

You were phished.

I've read about malware that will change BTC addresses on the fly to steal your coins.. Trace your coins via blockchain.info and see if they go to the same wallet that Bitmixer provided.. If not, then yea you were phished. Time to clean up that PC.. reformat and start fresh.

I'm guessing you didn't use the Tor version of BitMixer.
