Sourcery review: first market that takes multisig seriously

After recent events I've been looking for a market that takes bitcoin multisig seriously. Sourcery is new and vendor selection is still limited, but its implementation of multisig is by far the best I've seen.

Three main reasons:

So far I made one purchase and I was able to verify my address was in the multisig redeem script. Vendors don't have many reviews yet, but you can cross-check them against Grams Infodesk to make sure they're legit. Grams Infodesk doesn't monitor reviews for medium-to-small-sized vendors, so sometimes you gotta check out the linked Dream accounts to see if there are reviews there.

This is a market I've had my eye on for a while now, seems promising. Thanks for the field report!

I'll be registering on there once things cool down.

darkman719,

We appreciate your review on the forum and we are glad you had a positive experience on our market! We know our selection isn't quite like the big markets yet, but we are continuing to grow at a good clip and just waiting for vendors to post more. We recently got a bunch of ads posted for edibles and goodies, have some psychedelics postings from excellent vendors. We'll continue to grow but will remain a customer-oriented market.

Completely agree. I wish there were more variety. But yes having true multi sig is great. Every time I comment on their sub Reddit I get a reply within minutes.

This is why i dodnt trust hansa Most markets have you send your BTC to an intermediate address, take their cut, and then forward the rest to a multisig address afterwards

Not many vendors there unfortunately

Why can't we all just trust one-another.

When I checked out the site the interface was not very user friendly. That could make it difficult for it to go mainstream.

We take it seriously at TR as well.

I too have noticed it to be quite strange that you have to trust the Marketplace with the coins at first thus ruining the whole multi-signature thing.

Lol yeah I thought the same thing. It's not hard of course, but we've become accustomed to markets looking a certain way. Honestly, when I first check it out I thought "what the heck do I do?". This is going to be a great market. Keep the opinions/suggestions coming!

Sourcery gives you two addresses to pay: one for their cut, and one that goes directly into a multisig address whose redeem script you can verify on coinb.in.

Which means you pay double fee.
