Chromebook setups?

Just a quick note, I also asked this on /r/DarkNetMarketNoobs, but I figured a broader audience would help. I'm also semi-experienced in the markets, so I hope that justifies the post.

I recently bought a Samsung Chromebook 2 (ARM chip) for the express purpose of onions. Like, I would carry it around with me. Ran into some problems though. I can't boot from a USB because of the chip in the computer and Crouton left me at an impasse (if anyone has any Crouton knowledge to share, that would also be helpful!). So, to the people who manage to have a working set-up on a Chromebook or from Chrome OS or whatever, can you tell me more about it?

Just get a used Lenovo T430 off eBay for 150 bucks instead. That will run tails beautifully and is compatible with Qubes too.

i initially bought a chromebook for the same purpose. tried to partition the harddrive/install linux so i could run tails but the harddrive wasn't big enough...was like 4gb or some weak ass shit, so i exchanged it for a laptop of the same price with a 250gb hd... installed unbuntu.. then tails. as far as i know there is no way to run tails, or even download tor on chrome os. theres a chrome add on that lets you access .onion sites but i dont think the opsec with that route is even close to viable

Chromebooks aren't made to run tails, windows, or any other OS besides Google's. They're just not made to perform like a normal laptop, just meant for people on the go who don't want to lug around a laptop (like students).

Only certain chromebooks with specific proccesors will work, in my opinion though, not worth the hassle

Make sure you remove the read only screw, and get one with a hard dirve.

Install some form of debian on it, and copy over the /etc from a matching version of tails. Then reboot. Or update.

As everyone says, it doesn't work. I have a chromebook as well, that I have also failed to get tails booted.
