[Complaint/Warning] 100xCoins possibly scam

I sent them 1 BTC almost 48 hours when they said they would answer back within 24 hours. I observed it for 5 days during which it appeared as "verified" in the Hidden Wiki and didn't go down or something. So I took my chances and sent an amount I was willing to risk with the possibility of losing it. Here I am, warning others and most importantly: the moderators. Just the next day after I sent the BTC, the "verified" label was removed. I was as patient as I could before trying it and it surely seems like a scam.

Your first mistake was trusting anything on the Hidden Wiki.

Well, thanks [I guess] for your replies. What is really trustworthy in the DarkNet? Since the Hidden Wiki labels were linked to the source of claiming it as spam or verified (Reddit complains among them), and it seems regularly checked and moderated it had more chances than nothing. I'm not crying for that 1 BTC -one guy posted here in Reddit to have lost 8 BTC in a "laundry" service. This post was intended "for the record". Everything in the DarkNet seems to require a "Leap of faith" and I ended up receiving the bullet. Now some constructive tips: if waiting for days to see what happens isn't enough, what is a better approach or at least a starting point?
