OPSEC and taking review photos.

I've done a bit of searching and I still can't come up with the answer. Everyone says to turn off GPS, scrub photos of EXIF data and to upload it to an anonymous image host. This sounds fine but what about the fact your phone contains photos that could be matched to DNM posts. In the event of a CD, all computers/phones are seized if I'm not mistaken. It wouldn't take too much detective work/computer forensics to find these photos. Am I being a bit paranoid or is there something I'm missing?

Just make sure to turn off any kind of active syncing to Dropbox or wherever and delete the pic from your phone after you've uploaded it to an anonymous image host. Some things are better done manually.

In the event of a CD, you're fucked already. You should only post safe pictures to avoid said CD

Put your phone on airplane mode.

Take a picture.

Transfer the picture via USB to your desktop.

Delete the picture off the phone.

Turn off airplane mode.

Now you can strip it using exif without having to worry about your picture being synced to your cloud accounts and whatnot.

Ideally you'd take the picture with a phone without being logged into any accounts or connected to any networks whatsoever. But those things are just called digital cameras.

I would worry less about exif than your pictures being backed up and stored on multiple cloud services simultaneously as soon as they are taken. This can means your deleted picture still exists on apples servers and can be retrieved or matched to the one you posted.

Digital camera with removable storage is ideal. Storage can be removed and securely wiped. How far do you really want to go to conceal every possible trace? Use a Polaroid camera and scan the picture.
