Possible controlled delivery

Ordered like two weeks ago from righteous and choose express it came a little longer then expected so I asked him about it he said they didn't have any express envelopes so he went it in a priority then offered to pay me back.

Tuesday I put another order with him and the only options for shipping was priority so I choose that and Friday and Saturday I get this sheet of paper saying the post office missed me and that I gotta pay at the office desk 15 bucks for an express item envelope but I get it sent to my POBox so why would they say they missed me. I have till Tuesday the. They will send it back to the sender. I don't have anything else that's supposed to show up besides this.

EDIT: all went smoothly got the mail

Hmm, well that's not how controlled deliveries usually work...at least the dozen or so I've read about.

It sounds like he didnt pay enough postage? Although 15$ is like, the full amount for priority? So idk, defintely weird.

I don't own a P.O. box, so hopefully someone can chime in on this? Why wouldn't they leave the slip just in your p.o. box. Do they leave a slip notifying you when a package has come normally??

Is the slip pink?? I've had to go to the post office twice because of pink slips for SR orders AND had to sign for my package both times. (one was international).

Both because it said they missed me...but I never had to pay 15$ Hope im helping, I'm really high.

Some misinformation here, let me clear it up:

Priority mail is for 'larger' mail, ie anything over 13oz, huge packages, ie 'parcels'. Anything other than a floppy envelope basically.

First class, is for small parcels under 13oz, and envelopes.

Priority can be extremely expensive, depending on the weight and distance of the package. You want to always ship First Class if you can.

Express mail is basically a 'guarantee' of 2-3 day delivery, and it often takes a different route than Priority, but it's not any faster than Priority is. Only get priority if you need a guarantee of 1-3 day delivery.

There have been plenty of busts from people who've had to pick stuff up from the Post Office, every police department does things their own way.

Tons of people have picked up pink-slip packages like this from the Post Office and been fine, but many people busted too. I would recommend that you just let them send it back to the shipper, and tell the vendor what happened. Ideally, the vendor can verify it was sent back (may even be able to pick it up), so he can refund or reship the product to you.

It sounds legit to me....why don't you pm the vendor and run the story by them, see what they think.

Call and ask for a redeliver. Otherwise ask yourself whether this package is worth potential jailtime or not.
