Hi,
if I found a reputable source and went ahead with a small order like $50. The content would be small enough to fit in a large envelope and the content would be more of the pharmaceuticals kind rather than narcotics. The country of origin would be Thailand and would go to continental Europe (West).
I will assume I was not scammed and that the expected delivery time was 3 weeks ago, even with margins.
If it was seized would I necessarily see a notification on the tracker or via mail, even if LE chose not to do anything ? If they did chose to do something, wouldn't they be faster about it or eventually send the package and set a trap ? For $50, is that a reality ?
Since you can track (EMS) from both end, would a total discrepancy between the two ends mean anything concrete or is that system extremely flawed ? Would the lack of updates mean the package has been lost/stolen, is that the case frequently ?
If you had "cleared" house, how long would you do stay that way ?
I wouldn't really care about the package if I was in this situation but in the long run I'm sure knowing what really happened would be better.
Thanks for your help and thoughts.
Bonus question: I read somewhere that envelopes where not under that much suspicion and where subject to less control than boxes which require proof of content, pricing, taxes when they enter the E.U. ... Is that true ?
Hard to determine, they could notify you that your package had suspicious contents, that you should come in to pick it up, or nothing. It is very situational dependent.
If they think you're worth it enough to CD you, it is very possible though that the package got lost along the way somewhere, or that they just seized your package, and that your address is now possibly burned, but it's hard for us to know.
It makes it more unlikely, but not impossible, especially depending your country.
Depends what that discrepancy is, you should contact your vendor and see what they have to say.
It's infrequent that a package is lost/stolen overall, but it is possible. At what point did it stop updating?
Until I got the package situation sorted out, and made sure that I wasn't going to have a CD, or just overall be invaded. Order some regular packages, see if you receive them and they're not tampered with.
Boxes are more suspicious than envelopes, as they're able to carry more product potentially, so yes.
TL;DR: Realistically, your package was lost/stolen, and your address isn't burned and you aren't about to be raided, but it may be best to just test your address.
