/r/kratomkorner Kratom works pretty good, that and cannabis. Sell the tramadol, stuff is crap. Get a bag of shake and a pint of extra virgin coconut oil, warm it for a couple hours in a crock pot, filter it into a jar, apply where it hurts. I used this on my torn rotator cuff, was in horrible pain for months, put this on it, rubbed it in, applied cold pack, major improvement.

I hear certain strains of cannabis work really well with zero negative side effects, thats what I would personally go for if I had the problem you described rather than opiates, I don't know which strain because I don't know anything about cannabis, but we should have some local experts to point you in the right direction.

Will you Doc not prescribe Hydrocodone or Oxycodone?

I would definetly try some different strains of pot.. Definetly a good muscle relaxer.. maybe even some concentrate of some sort..

If your telling the doctor tramadol is making you sick and he keeps prescribing you it you need to switch doctors. Its the doctors job to find you the right medication. Some doctors have a bias opinion to pain killers like hydro, oxy and wont prescribe it.

Ask your doctor for a Torodol I.M. injection. 30mg.

I had a herniated disc in my back not too long ago. I also found out I have the start of degenerative disc disease as well. I was 24 then, working on 26 soon. I have used CBD mostly for a sleep aid at night TBH. But it does help somewhat with pain. Indica concentrates have worked the best for me as a substance to use for pain. As I mentioned in the other reply, with some indica wax, my leg felt like life could flow through it again.

I still refrained from activities and rested, mine you. But just knowing there was hope again was enough to really raise my spirits. I was walking around like my now diseaced grandmother when I herniated my L5. Honestly, most scared I've ever been from a physical injury. My left hip is aching as I type this even...

I was prescribed tram as well. All the research I did on tram showed increase chances of seizures. From people waking up in hospitals and the last they remember was smoking a cig on their front porch, to people that take rediculous amounts of it (due to tolerance, even with prescription). The thing that made me say fuck that shit was when I read that tram taken with a nsaid can increase chance of seizure as well. My pain management prescribed tram WITH meloxicam (sp?)...which is a nsaid...the pharmacy would not fill the meloxicam due to 'insurrance not covering it'. I still think they knew of the dangers and just chose not to fill it on my behalf. Not the first time a pharmacy tech has watched out for me either.

Out of anything that I got through a doctor/pain management, the steroid shots and PT were the only things that helped me out truly. The steroid shots, you won't notice right away. And resting is still highly recommended if not required none the less to allow for the injury to heal. This being you have an injury than can be fixed without surgery. I'm still avoiding the knife. Dad just got lower reconstructive back surgery and needs a new hip (no cartilage).

But the PT I last went to helped out immensely. Before my last back injection, my pain literally vanished. I almost wanted to cancle the injection. A lot of people will tell you the shots are not worth it. But honestly, they are way better than opiates IMHO. I've even tried small amounts of percocet/oxycodone or whatever. I just end up feeling sick as shit the next day and don't even want to do it again TBH. Fuck that bs.

Oh, gabapentin was helpful at night. When I would toss/turn and cause pain, I would not wake up in the middle of my sleep due to the gaba. It just knocked me out when I was ready for bed.
