Has anyone noticed the insane amount of Tor nodes in France?

So in Tor, you know how you can view some of the nodes you are connecting through by pressing the little Tor button on the top left? I have noticed that it seems like 95% of the time, theres at least one France node, and often it's two or all three (that are visible).

Compared to other countries, France seems by FAR the country with the biggest amount of nodes. Is this actually documented somewhere or am I just fucking crazy? Also I want to note that this has been happening before those attacks on Paris happened and has no relation.

What do, guys?

[3 Points] None:

Recently France has really upped their "national security." Wouldn't be surprised if they drowned part of their budget into state controlled Tor nodes.

I'm in a country next to France and yes, nearly always one of the nodes is French. But most of the time I also have 2-3 simultaneous connections through the US and/or Ukraine. Sometimes just oddly all over the place, like Japan + Sweden + Brazil + Liberia.

There seem to be patterns, and I assume it heavily depends on the time of day, overall state of the network and the workload of certain groups of nodes (DDoS attacks etc.).
