Is there such thing as a free vpn?

bruh.. sry to say,but nothing be free today yknow......
you can take use of the "free" ones, or many commercial VPN services.... what do you think is special with these things, makes some value..
the fact that people trust their sensitive data with them.
commercial services typically lean on something like "100% Not storing any logs", "Dynamic warrant canary early-warning system", blabla.. to build credibility.
Who would try bet criminals vs. government ratio of the top 1000 used anonymity services? .. muahah. . . . .
I suggest you setup such a company, too.
Log everything. Be quiet. If to ever strike open and explicitly just remember to ensure it'll satiate ye appetite more than perpetuating operation ever seemed capable of.
Government and bandits alike, this is a very popular and amusing activity. 99.99%+ of people will never know, or surely not in a very long time anyway; within any period the repercussion following the disclosure of the realities would have any significant impact.
As a small teaser, for the baby-spies beginning of in this game, to get ones mouth watering and realize potential.. simply keep-alive a tcp listener at common proxy-software port with a header response upon handshake to reply as that of common mis-/bad-configured proxy software, hax0red random stuff ("free proxies"), or even nab ya own box using whatever public sploit of the day.. make ur pick..
- no need to even advertise.. the proxy scanners and "free public proxy lists"-communities will eagerly and aggressively dig it up likely before you completely final configuration and deamonize the proc and leave it for time being.. , seemingly a good find and even manually list it further across the great wide web than Google can keep track of.. appearing fresh, innocent, some scanners "lucky catch".. unknowingly of the fact that this notion is what reverse the roles for the users of such shared proxy services.
basic simple hints to get ur mind on the right track, for the dumbest and newbs with any €0.1 btc-(legit) purchased shell, or whatever; wireshark, sslstrip, tcp 80 http <input/post> filters, basic seo and credibility building next to appearing "in the forest" and indistinguishable from other "owned" boxes..
like bees to a jar of honey.
Next, likely motivated by the surprising profit and easy catches among otherwise supposedly "pro" people.., if still bothering and hands not full - given one would be a n00b, greedy, or simply a fool, this be quite the chance..
smack together some fancy-looking flashy colors, patch together some logos, figures,.. whatever that apppears to bypass what any 14-year old could have made, simply ensuring its source of origin is obscure enough to avoid explicit disclosure of such to a united base of followers.. and u seem pro over-night.
Totally legit, no malware.. be the savior over at Google Store, offer your "free vpn" , "free proxy switcher"-app for phones.. patched together in shorter time than spent eating lunch. The hot potato, and only worthwhile focus, of course, is credibility, appearance and ultimately resulting trust.
Simply lying about otherwise swiftly verifiable facts will go as smooth as 99% of "open source software" being advertised as safe due to the fact everyone believes it to be safe because every-/any-one are able to actually check it in-depth, while the realistic figure of those engaging in capable analysis, if any ever at all, is equal to zero, and an insurmountable achievement to argue against on given the time needed - for you - to have picked the mature carrots and hopped on to the next field. Potentially patching together a mess with aspects giving trustworthyness in subtle under-tones thru presently trusted aspects of software once more, long ago having left the previous project before anyone ever notice - or by then cared,or gave any attention - to the rotten carrots that was, if any due to be lectured on believing in anything being "free" and how they deservingly paid for partaking in its benefits for the time being. "Your fault. You were stupid. Naive.", "There are no longer any tracks to follow. Who knows! - It could be any of these others .. they all appear honest and sincere, and possibly most even are.".
Too many similarities, too many differences .. this latter bit being only to concern (read: benefit) the ones harvesting the fruits of leaning on trust built by others.
Mode of operation not too far from that of invertebrate leeches, enabled and allowed by massive social suggestion.
Trust me on this -- present a stupid idea among 50, have 10 friends playing along, acting very well immediately and enthusiastically embrace your idea, critical in means to discard other potential reluctance and consequently seemingly satisfactory response and implied troubled, and elaborate alternative should it be questioned or doubted.. Thru any means of implied collective seemingly obvious and reasonable disparage for those reaching to the extreme or otherwise being "so stupid requiring spoon-feeding" of some humiliating reiterated basics to suppress and ease neglect of and seemingly value to any uttered, even subtly implied resistance of the collective truth.
10 people, seemingly comparable, decent, random selection of people, comparably; 50 strangers. 10 actors, coordination, determination and intent and the 50 strangers will soon agree the only reasonable choice is to all collectively walk over the cliff, and any other is a hostile, make the norm.
Proxies come and go.. for a reason. By themselves wanting you to take them for (any) use, for a number of reasons. For You, yet an other way to reinforce the thought and trust in your own, in a multitude of opportunities.
Being aware of the fact Proxies, VPNs etc. in all their advertised forms, methods, intents, benefits and risks, which are mere commercial "pay-to-use"-ware, a single well-known service by itself a target for this fact, non-self secured to form a dynamic rotation in a chain with perpetually creative routes, hops, means of transporting eggs by balancing pears on your ears one day, and something else completely the next.. never actually bringing the True pears, of course..
The people are the dumbest.
The worst... the ones that pay to be screwed. Typically, and to a gr8 degree fueled by the belief in the virtue of perceived value of what they pay someone to screw them over with. Blissfully ignorant of the inner workings and at the mercy of trust to someone proclaimining: "Trust me; I'm not gov., nor a criminal. I give my lif to protect strangers commiting crime if need be -- I'm an idealist".
Stealing candy from children.
Are anyone even using commercial VPN services, and hosts not potentially enabled for exploitation for sake of analysis and int. harvest., exploiters exploiting exploiters etc. by "hacking" using public "0day of today" from the main sec. sites.., and think they are safe?? Even with a mere one or two steps of this, typically even the "main, common, popular big services".... and expect they are safe?
Yeah.... for now, and noone cares about those grams of hash.
But to hide.. people using commercial VPN services, proxy server lists etc. of any kind... are mere slaughter for the ones higher up to know to exploit the weak-minded and gullible.
Commercial services, or easily-attained access into anything of value should typically not be used as anything else but to appear as one is not aware of the foolishness inherent in its use, a distraction.
The ones on the bottom, on the other end... good luck fishing! I'm sure they got full bellies, as they've every day for years, yet again. As always.. "noone knows, nor ever even cares, before its too late and everyone knows, everyone should have known, it doesn't matter".
Suggest more ofya try make nimble strides into carding, foreign hardware & software exploitation and the numerous related field, and again -- consider what is free.... "free" provided by someone, who gets someone better in return. There is no "magic" cape you can hide behind, and those who claim to provide either has greatest revenue in ones such as such, or ignorantly sweeps thru it all as fools assume nothing applies to them, or mere "lowbie-crimes" as they would be involved in.
Again. Try it. Set up a simple proxy server. No need advertising it, they're aggressively scanning all ranges swift enough to land it somewhere faster than Google are enabled indexing of them all.
Log.
Know how to load-balance VPNs, more importantly.. build a credible image, one of trust; however? Riches await... let's keep the "we keep no logs" going as long as its perceived value enables, much to gain for long to come.
Where people feel free, they act free, or in other words, vulnerable.
Sure, these companies are so nice. It's nearly charities, protecting the small man from the government and the criminals.
Keep thinking that.
Those who can take a hint, knows to beware, and pick some fruit on their own.
last note: besides the obvious simple straight covert log.. there will be a plethora of opportunities within "legit" businesses by engaging the possibility to involve "third party advertissers".. of course your disclaimer states its not your fault when they make mistakes. So when they conveniently tailored browser exploit slides thru as injected HTML at strategic points, --- if anyone notice, time to put on the tears, and get rough and strong, and show people that you do not tolerate such and why people have reason to trust you, finding and dealing with such horrible scum. Of course, it may take many years to evade these creative elusive "advertisers" sly tricks. When ideas are out, maybe time to close down anyway, if not having by the time......

Free is always the best price except when your freedom or even your life are at stake. And free usually isn't. The company has to do something to recoup the money it's spending on you. Either marketing to you or much worse is them selling the server usage logs. Sadly, there is no guarantee that won't happen any way. It happens even at firms that promise they won't. Spend a few bucks a month and go with someone with years of stellar vendor reviews.
My two cents.

If my tiny brain has learned anything, nothing is free in this world. If something is free, there is a reason.
VPN service aren't that expensive though. Very affortable and I think it's worth it for the security it offers, even if you're just surfing on the clear net. I personally value privacy so it's worth it for me to spend money for VPN. Others may differ.

Yeah you can get them from www.honeypot.com
