Just a reminder - this is both the slowest and the SAFEST time of year to order

Think about it. Yes, your package is taking longer. It's coming from a truck you don't expect because of all the contracted delivery drivers. You don't know when it's coming.

And neither does anyone else. This would not be the time of year to start searching through packages, particularly to find whatever you ordered.

Think of the current flurry as a mixed blessing. Breathe easy. If the USPS can barely handle your package, I'm pretty sure no other institutions can, either.

I work for Fedex Express. Even though most stuff here goes through USPS (right?), I can say for us, this is probably the best time for us as well.

The past few weeks have been the busiest weeks of the year for us. Some people are working 6 days a week, some 7. Volume is through the roof. Unless your package arrived at the station smashed or broke open through bad luck (less than ~.2% of what we get at our station), your package will get absolutely no inspection whatsoever.

Express saver (our few day service) gets to you via truck, all overnight packages get to you through airplanes. The airplane stuff (for us at least) almost never gets damaged, whether that's because people are more careful around aircraft than trucks or people pay much more for overnight is your guess. So I guess the point I'm trying to make here is if you want to go with Fedex, choose overnight service (standard overnight or priority overnight) for a virtual guarantee it will be undamaged.

Here's a video from a few years ago, but it proves my point this is a safe time. Most packages in the entire Fedex Express system get routed through Memphis. The workers they have there now don't give a shit about any illicit substances being shipped, its too much of a hassle to report it. Outbound flights to the hubs across the country are timed to the MINUTE, and especially in a time like now, you better believe the #1 priority is to get shit in and out of there as quick as possible. That's how it is at my station. My boss has his boss breathing down his neck, and it continues that way up the ladder. Literally tens of millions of dollars are at stake to get planes out in time, FDX won't admit it but everything else on the processing end is on the backburner until after Christmas.

More proof of volume.

tl;dr- Take advantage of these next couple days.

true, but it sucks when a priority pack tacks freakin 2 weeks to arrive.

I'm on day 14 or 15 waiting on a 2-day priority pack from a reputable vendor that I trust. I've received several untouched clearnet packages on time during this time period, some of which came through customs with some illegal products but it was untouched as well. Waiting on a small order or wax (2gs) so I certainly couldn't imagine them trying to flip me over 2gs but it still sucks. Tracking hasn't been updated in like 12 days and it is so annoying haha, at least it'll be a pleasant surprise if/when it ever makes it!

Yeah and I bet they lose more packages than any other time of year.

It will return to normal shipping times after Christmas right? Or will it take a bit longer?
