Botched purchase. How to proceed?

I bought some product off an established vendor on Alphabay. They are the only US domestic vendor of this product right now and this is the only drug I use so I FE'd because they don't have an escrow option for any amount on any market.

This is my third order of this product from this vendor. The first two shipped on Mondays, showed up on myUSPS that night, and arrived on Tuesdays (ships from the same city). The third also shipped on Monday but never showed up on myUSPS, and did not get delivered on Tuesday or Wednesday despite being a two day priority delivery. I asked the vendor if they could look into it on Wednesday, they responded on Thursday and asked for an hour to look into it, and finally wrote back on Saturday saying it had been delivered on Wednesday.

Now I am a fucking junkie out of my drugs so I have been watching my mailbox like a fucking dog all week so I know that box was not delivered. The vendor told me the delivery date but did not give me the tracking number as proof. I basically have to take their word for it now? Is this regular protocol or is it reasonable for me to ask for a tracking number?

Do I write this off or is there any point disputing it?

I'm skeptical of the vendor because he had a "special" going this week with discounts, OTOH if I believe the vendor but don't know what route my package took and where it might have been held up exactly, I fear LE interference and don't know how to proceed with future purchases.

Edit TL;DR: Placed an order with a vendor a third time. The first two came in a day and also showed up on myUSPS. The third (double my usual order) never showed up on myUSPS and was never delivered even though I watched my mailbox like a hawk for two days. Vendor said it was delivered but did not share tracking info with me.
