It's been almost 12 hours for one of my transactions and still no confirmations. The nice people in r/bitcoin said their transactions have been taking less than 15 minutes to get confirmed, so what's the deal here?
How long is it taking for you guys to get confirmations?

Check this site before you pick a fee, sent >500$ worth of coin just last night and took about ~25min for my first confirmation.

How much of a fee did you pay? Look up the transaction on blockchain.info and find the section that says Fee Per Byte.

Recently I have my transactions confirmed within few hours average. I had 3 transactions with "low fee" which went through within like 12 hours not more.
To set the record straight for you and everybody else.
There are always transactions being confirmed. always. 25/8.
When the blockchain gets "clogged" with lots of transactions, you have to pay higher fees to get your transaction confirmed faster.
No matter how busy it is, you can always get your transaction confirmed in about 5-15 minutes by paying a high enough fee. You are basically paying to cut in line. unfair? no. the definition of fairness.
HOWEVER it seems random because the BTC/byte ratio to confirmation speed changes constantly .
Always check this site before sending coins from a place where you can set the mining fee and you will never wait for a transaction again.
