My fuck up experience as a newbie on SR.

It was my third purchase (of 10 CK x pills) on the original SR during spring '13. I was nervous as hell about it because it was going to have to go through customs (from Canada to US). The first strange part is that I received a note from the mailman in my box (when any size package received from SR in the amount that I buy at a time would and always has fit in my mailbox), saying I needed to pick up a package at my local/closest post office. When I get to the post office with my little slip of paper, they tell me that there must have been a mistake, the paper was sent from a different office, one downtown, the farthest away from me as possible, and only a couple of blocks from our city courthouse, police station, and jail. I thought, how the fuck would they have given me this when I'm completely out of their way... But being the eager dumbass that I was at the time, I still wanted to try to get my fucking package. So I go downtown, park at the post office, and notice an undercover cop parked at the end of building. He gets out of his car when I do, and follows me into the building. I stand in line, my heart pounding, and he's just standing around behind me, seeming to pretend to look at shit. When I finally get to the front of the line, I made the number one mistake in my complete state of panic...I signed for the package. The cop is still eyeballing me, so I try to nonchalantly walk out of the building, playing dumb and reading the return address, with a confused "hmm...I didn't order anything, wonder what this could be..." kind of look on my face. I get in my car, and the cop walks out of the building (having done absolutely nothing while he was in there but stand around behind me), looking at me for a second before heading back to his car. I wait a few minutes, pretending to look at my phone, until he finally backs out and leaves.

Now, as a much more experienced buyer on the dark markets, I know better than to sign for packages and I use a lot more precaution and PGP etc. I was just really eager during my first couple of purchases and throwing caution to the wind because I was just so goddamn excited that my DREAM had come true: buying drugs online, having them sent to me, not having to directly interact with (usually) annoying drug dealers.

So, my question is, ...WTF happened there? I surely wasn't being paranoid, right? A lot of weird, coincidental things happened, and I thought for sure they were going to bust me right there at the post office. Maybe the cop observed me for a bit and decided I wasn't worth the time? It's not like I ordered 500 pills to sell off to locals or anything. If they knew what was in the package they would know it was a small enough amount to be for my own personal recreational use. So was/am I being extremely paranoid? Or was I just really lucky?

Maybe its the first step at building a case against you. I sure as hell wouldn't have signed for it. They could just be gathering Intel from suspicion. Pretty Sketchy. why did they not deliver? was there a problem not finding the street all of a sudden?

You may have gotten lucky this time. Pretty sketchy lol

SUre you're not just going through stim psychosis at the moment, or another kind of drug induced paranoia?

If it was a cop, and you did sign for it, surely they would have nailed you? ...unless, you're still being watched?!

[1 Points] None:

You said you noticed an undercover cop. If he was undercover how did you know he was a cop? Were you suspicious or did you actually know for sure?

[1 Points] slicksr:

Could the police officer or security guy work for the post office and rather than make their presence obvious just make sure they're present with suspicious looking individuals.

You were collecting something you shouldn't have been and so must have looked a little nervous, something he spotted. I don't think it likely that he'd have been waiting outside all day just for you if no arrest was made.

Damn lucky… remember plausible deniablity is the ticket to not getting busted.

what you did was incredibly stupid, but they weren't after you o/w you wouldn't be a free man right now

You're paranoid and projected the paranoia unto the cop. Would you notice him if you ordered some cat toys or something and the same thing happened?

I had a very similar experience happen in Mexico (they're extremely strict with customs and I've had 2 packages seized). Note was left for a post office that is on the opposite end of town when I lived 1 block from one. I just got there and faked the sig and whatever. If anyone said it's mine they wouldn't be able to prove it. How can they prove I ordered it and not someone else trying to mess with me. Either way I'm so used to weird stuff happening at this point, I just brush it off. Like you said we're not ordering 500 pills here (or are we, teehee)

edit: I said the first part because as you've mentioned the office was near the courthouse and police station btw.. not really that unusual to see cops around where they work ^ As for him eyeing you - he eyed everyone (or didn't and you just eyed him and felt him eyeing you) and who knows why he was there.. could be hundreds of reasons.

[1 Points] tbaster:

Yes, you were being paranoid. Yes, it was incredibly stupid to sign for your package of illicit drugs if you believed a cop was behind you watching this.

But I have done a couple of incredibly stupid things myself.

[1 Points] twigburst:

Being overly paranoid. In a city, why would they do a CD for such a small amount? They are expensive and time consuming.

I got a note in my mailbox one time from the USPIS. That's the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. They were holding a package someone had mailed me from Boulder CO. The note said 'we are holding a package, give us a call'. I did NOT give them a call. I wouldn't even consider giving them a call. I have no control over someone sending me a package. Of course I worried about it, but not too much. You see, I am old and experienced. With cops and suchlike, I am low key and good natured, but I will never give anything away. Its a game - play it right!
