Discussion about the issues with integration of XMR multisig support

Saw a reply to a post about the use of Monero (XMR) that talked specifically about the implementation and that there are issues with it. These were apparently related to multiple wallets and the way in which monero is implemented. Something related to RPC and having to run another instance for each wallet, which doesn't scale well for 1..n wallets on a single host. The poster mentioned that the monero devs are aware of the issue, but really don't care.

I can NOT find this post.. my search foo sucks apparently. But I wanted to have a longer discussion on what the hurdles are and possibly can we fund the development of the necessary changes. The monero project has different funding efforts for the GUI, etc, so why not this?

Maybe we can identify the requirements and then start a funding effort to meet those requirements?

Clearly I am a believer in monero and being it's an open source, community driven currency, we should be able to get these changes made through funding or direct development.

Yeah, I remember reading that but can't find it either. Weird.

However, I'm not sure the idea will get much traction. Just going off 3+ years in vending, and with BTC as a yardstick, less than 1% of my sales ever made use of multisig and I've always offered it as an option when possible. There's far more talk about it than there is action. Personally, I'm fine with the risks associated with plain escrow (market disappearances are something for which I plan). But, if multisig makes buyers happier, I support it.

That was me. Look in my post history.

The posts were downvoted initially but I'm not sure why. You will see multiple attempts to get the monero team to implement multi-account wallets that have resulted in the reply "that's too hard to do so we are not doing it".

Hell, if they just supplied a way to get notification of incoming transactions for n * multisignature wallets in a single RPC instance that would be a huge step. Loading a wallet to spend isn't the end of the world.
