Most people here are under no illusion that tor is just the first step to anonymity, and utilize multiple different tools to ensure that they are truly anonymous.

I hold btc, drk and a very small amount of ltc. I try to use drk as much as possible in order to help support the coin. Not because of what it does now, but also what it is GOING to do. For those who just invest vs transact with cryptocurrency, well consider this a prime time to get a few DRK and get another shot at the btc style craze when DRK starts getting adopted by more and more people...
Put as much protection as you can in place. Dont just rely on one thing to keep your transactions safe.

3k budget? fucking retards. I can do it on a 5$ budget and use javascript to leak somebody's real IP. or I could pay 20$ and use a JDB
i hope they do something cool instead of just doing what the NSA is currently doing (which isn't as easy as picking out an intended target and deanonymizing them at will). if they just set up a little sandbox tor network inside the conference hall, somebody better give them wedgies as they exit the stage. And $3k? WTF... NSA is doing it for $1k LOL

Quoting text: "The NSA then cookies that ad, so that every time you go to a site, the cookie identifies you. Even though your IP address changed [because of Tor], the cookies gave you away," he said.
This is not some complicated or even an unusual trick, Grossman said. It's how tracking ads were intended to function.
"That's the Web by design, not a hack," he said.
The NSA, he said, is not spending much money on it since Internet ads are so cheap. Grossman speculated that an ad campaign would only cost around $1,000 to seed ads with the NSA's cookies around the Web.
