Aside from the rest of the comments explaining why it's not required, to get an https connection that works you'd need to have a signed certificate on the market's end. That's some real paper trail you end up with there.

When you're accessing a hidden service, your entire transaction is occuring on Tor; exit nodes only come into play when you're using Tor to browse "clearnet" sites anonymously.
