[Vendor Review] Mountain on Agora

Have you ever had that one dealer who was so awesome that you didn't want to tell your friends about him, you just wanted to keep him to yourself?

This is a review for, and about, that dealer.

I have MS and weed is one of the ways that I use to minimize the amount of medications I need to take to manage my symptoms. This also means that I work hard to try to find strains that suit my needs. I want something that will help with the pain, the muscle spasms, and a lot of the other issues that, unless you've been diagnosed with MS, you've probably never even thought about.

Some time ago, I got a recommendation from a friend to try the NYC Diesel sold by Mountain on Agora. Mountain describes it as coming from the best plant out of a crop of NYCD, that has been being cloned since it's discovery. Mount says that it's got a particularly high THC and my experience with it backs up that claim. It's become my preferred bedtime toke and helps make for a night of restful sleep. It's easy to overlook the value of that, unless you've spent months and years being unable to sleep more than a couple of hours at a time, before being woken up by the pain and muscle cramps. The importance Being able to cut back on the pills and other prescriptions which you had been relying on up until discovering NYCD also shouldn't be overlooked. This one will lock you in to a chair with ease and knock you on your ass if you don't respect it.

Mountain has had a few other varieties I've wanted to try. Just recently he'd come out with Sour Tsunami, a strain that's high in CBD and lower in THC (CBD is over 10%, while THC is probably around 3-5% based off my experience with it.) He's also just had a strain he's bred up, a cross between BlueberryxNorthern LightsxSkunk, (I believe he's calling the strain Virgin Mary) that he's said is particularly tasty and has become his personal favorite.

I'd been holding off on ordering because he'd been out of Wonka Bubblicious, and Mountain takes his time during curing. If it's not right, he'll hold off on posting it for sale until it's ready. It's not unusual for him to post updates where he'll say, "I'll have strain X up in a bit, but I just tried it and it needs another couple weeks."

Every once in a while, I'd message him asking how the Wonka was coming, while watching his stock on the others I wanted to buy dwindle. About a week ago, things changed for me. When you have MS, sometimes you get a bit of a warning that a flare up is coming. You may not know what it'll be or how bad, but things just begin feeling off. So, this past Monday (Dec 8th) I message Mountain again asking about the Wonka and asking if I might do a special order of some sort.

Now, Mountain really doesn't do 'special orders'; when the crop is ready, he packages everything into 1/8ths, 1/4s, and 1/2s. If you want a half ounce, but he's only got 1/4s, then you buy 2 1/4s. I respect that, it means that what he shows on his order page is actually what he has, he isn't fudging things but is instead open and honest with his customers. One thing that he does with every package, is that it includes an extra gram or so of a random strain that he happens to have (I believe its the small buds that fall off and on to the table when they're curing or something like that.) So, you always get an accurate weight of what you actually ordered, plus another bit as a sample.

Working with Mountain, I came up with the plan to buy a 1/4 ounce of the Sour Tsunami, 1/4 ounce of the NYC Diesel, and 1/2 ounce of the BlueberryxNorthern LightsxSkunk strain (that Mountain is starting to call Virgin Mary). I order that on Tuesday, Dec 9 and received it on Thursday Dec 11. Two days. TWO FUCKING DAYS. To say I was blown away by this level of service during the xmas holiday is the understatement of the year. I am a happy cat.

On to the reviews: The NYC Diesel is the same as I come to grow and love; good stuff. I ordered a 1/4 ounce, and I got 7.7 grams, plus a bit over a gram of an unknown strain.

The Sour Tsunami was an eye opener for me. I ordered 1/4 ounce, got 7.76 grams, plus about a gram of another unknown strain. I need to stop and point out that the 1/4 ounce was in two huge nugs. Check the photos, it was sticky as hell and one solid lump. It's a nug that'd choke a horse. I used my Arizer solo to vape a dose, and the effect was just a wave washing over me, washing away the pain and leaving me relaxed and comfortable. You can taste the Sour Diesel in it's background. This strain isn't real dank in the bag, but it does have a pleasant smell, and the THC in the strain was enough to bring on a mild buzz and relaxation. If you are looking for a medical marijuana for pain killing abilities and muscle relaxant abilities, then you've just found it. Don't let this one get away.

The 1/2 ounce of the virgin Mary was a very pretty strain, had good bag appeal. The smell wasn't as strong as I was expecting based on the heritage, but it easily filled the room once cut open. You can really pick up on the fruitiness of the Blueberry background. I'll be trying this one as my 'go to bed' medicine, so I can't give a review on that yet, but I don't expect any disappointment. The Virgin Mary also came with about a gram of NYC Diesel, so that joined it's sisters in their jar.

At the time I bought these, 1/4s were $80, 1/2s were $147.

Two final things: I've worked with Mountain enough that I feel safe FE'ing my orders. I hope that never has to change.

Last thing: if you've worked with Chip Chipperson, Stratton Oakmont, or any of those guys, you will feel that Mountain's stealth is sub par and I can't disagree with that. I'd like to see more layers in there too, but you'll notice that Mountain uses a super, super thick layer of mylar as his first layer. This is a layer that is so thick that it's just not going to be pierced accidentally. Could the stealth be better? Yes, but I will say that I've never received an order from him that had even the tiniest whiff of anything other than paper.

Okay, one last, last thing. The reason I feel comfortable telling you all about my favorite dealer? I just placed an order for the newly stocked Wonka Bubblicious, so I'm feeling magnanimous.

Fantastic review. Not only pics and description, but perspective too. Nice.

Kinda off-topic, but could you expand on what THC and CBD mean to you? Is one better for pain or sleep or whatnot? What do you choose and when?
