So what's the deal with Druglist?

From what I've read we have a mod sticking up for them and then 80%+ of the community trying to hunt them down. Then I believe some shill account was opened to fix everything.

So I need a tl;dr Is Drugslist safe? and if not why?

Thanks in advanced for any help, It just got confusing

Stay far, far away. I say this both as a mod and a user.

No, the owner is shady, a liar and not only has a site full of security errors, he openly ignored them until his hand was forced. It's also looking like the admin took no steps to hide himself or his intentions on clear net websites hoping to hire a developer and thus the market may swell have been compromised before it even opened. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Also, never mind what has already happened, the dark net markets are a very volatile and cutthroat business; DPR2 posted database dumps from Tormarket to show that they were a better, more secure market. Running off with your money, scam sellers or random hackers aren't the only people to worry about, market admins will also do anything to damage others brands.

Stay away, far, far away. It's unlikely you'll gain from using DL anyway: SR has the best sellers, Pandora managed to get the better prices and if you're distrusting of both some people swear by Agora and Blue Sky. The Marketplace is great but depending on where you live there's no sellers so all the technical improvements over previous sites are useless.

All of the DarkNetMarket places have had security issues.

Only one of them decided the best way to handle theirs was to pick fights with smarter people and reveal their absolute incompetence.

In the end they're your profits and you're free to risk them anyway you want.

I vote to take the link off the side bar, i feel he is a scammer, liar, and shitty site.

People like to shop where there is the most choice, so they choose the market which can attract the most vendors, and a backup marketplace which is full of registered vendors and users, but has little actual footfall.

The number 2 market becomes the number one marketplace over about two days. Silk Road 2.0 is somehow still limping along against everyone's expectations, but the moment it fcks up, or gets fcked, the vendors listings will be on their backup marketplace.

If drugslist makes vendors feel safe, and keeps a good vendor to scammer ratio (for customer's benefit), it will inevitably rise up.

so is DrugList banned from here on reddit . and their site shut downed? no more hearing from DrugList now? so the "one man" operation was a scammer? is that why he tried to get top vendors to vend at his site so he could steal big money later?

[0 Points] None:

The truth is that had some security issues that DID NOT result in the disclosure of ANY personal info. There has not been ANY major markets that have not had security holes and most had personal data involved.

They did respond poorly to it though. This does not make them shady. This makes them asses. They are slowly recongnizing this and trying to correct it.

The lessons learned so far from market failures as these :

BUYER:

VENDOR:

The last issue is the only one DL has failed on and ONLY to a degree. They have fixed the problem and have stated that they sought out Pen-Testing and will provide the results. If this is so, they will have fulfilled this requirement.

Unfortunelty, they didn't react very well at all. Plainly speaking, they were asses. They have both announced publically and personally that they were sorry for their reactions.

The site operation allows for all things to protect you as a buyer or vendor. If anyone can refute this information, please do so. If your an ass about it, I won't even bother replying.

There is so much bad info floating around that the waters are getting murky.

/u/infinitelyoutthere, : While I disagree with your opinion I want to clarify that your statement is not one of the ones I am referring to. You stated an opinion and did not provide any false information.

In support of drugslist, to that hacker, I was about to post in his thread which hasd now been deleted. So I'll post what I was going to say to him here:

"Did you expect to be paid for hacking a website and causing worry for thousands of users and drug dealers, in return for your silence?

Do you see yourself as some kind of security consultant who was never commissioned by Drugslist? Because to me, you are self aggrandizing, narcissistic blackmailer. Those are real people, and class "A" drug dealers, and causing trouble for real world people always has real world consequences.

I don't care if you're a server guy with no friends and a touch of Asperger's, some stupid kid, or a full-on "rainman"-style geek who lives with his mum. Some of those coke dealers are fronts for the cartels who behead people on narco mundo.

I suggest you apologise to everybody, turn your computer off, and don't answer the door. That's not a threat, its heartfelt, sound advice.

I've probably done you the greatest favour today that anybody will ever do for you. Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean that you have to. Just because you've done something clever, doesn't mean you deserve payment for it. Go and get a proper job, or do something to make the world a better place."

Drugslist is a startup, and every new business deserves a good turn occasionally. Its not going to be perfect straight away, but character and good intentions are as important as perfect coding. A few UK vendors are collectively warming to drugslist. Make us HOT!

A darkmarketplace suffers pressures from every angle. Its a collection of problems that arise, and the ability to solve them on the fly, with no template to follow. Druglist's owner has a little humility, responds to problems, and occasionally thinks outside the box. More importantly, he or she seems well-intentioned.

dark markets are in post-silk road chaos, but everyone is gradually feeling their way through in the darkness. even when we're arguing with druglist's owner, we quite like him.
