Cocaine Narcos documentary

If you haven't already seen the Netflix series Narcos I definitely recommend it. I like how Vice will always do a documentary after a movie or series gets popular. This one is recent and most likely from the popularity of the netflix show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjJNdd891mg

+1000 on this. Narcos is outstanding. I've even started re-watching it. My only real complaint is that they moved really fast this first season. They covered a shitload though and wish they moved slower. I would have loved to see Carlos Lehder's character expanded. He set up a hedonistic paradise on Norman's Cay (the waypoint they used b/w Colombia and the US). Full of naked chicks and unlimited cocaine. He literally hijacked the island, kicked out most of the residents. An old big time weed smuggler had been using it before to smuggle weed, Carlos came in, and this guy started flying for Carlos, but switched to coke, His wife would add a diamond to her necklace for every successful flight her husband made. He ended up getting nabbed and turned UC against Lehder and testified against him. This was a fantastic story and hope they somehow expand on this, maybe in flashbacks.

Lehder would fly in prostitutes to the island and they'd have this orgies that'd last for nights and days. A paradise on earth. He's in a supermax prison now, I think he was the only Colombian drug lord extradited when Colombia signed the treaty w/ the US. He was a hitler loving, john lennon quoting mofo. I think his father was German and mother was Colombian.

I also wish there was more reading material on him. He is an interesting character for sure.

It really is a great show. I usually can't stand reading subtitles, but this show drew me in so much that I almost don't notice that I'm reading them. Blew through the first season in a few days. Anyone know when the next season is being released?

After seeing it mentioned a bunch on this sub I decided to check it out, and this is the first show in a while that I've actually been sucked into, probably partially because I don't have cable anymore, and this sub is more interesting then the majority of shows/movies anyway. But narcos is directed like a movie, I think the netflix TV series is the future of tv shows, no more "find out what happens next after this commericial break!!" style bs.

Time to go binge watch some more narcos...

You should check out the columbian made mini-series "Pablo Escobar, el patron del mal". Much more accurate to the historical accounts. Narcos really plays with timelines and the truth. Only problem with the Columbian version is that its about 75 parts.

how does it end?
