trust distribution across many VPN providers is the answer. Then your connection circuit would look something like this: home -> isp -> vpn1 -> vpn2 -> vpn3 -> tor -> dnm

yes, it could be. they are a weak link. they should be in a country with less surveillance, they shouldn't know who you are.

Just use Tails and a VPN wouldn't really be needed.
TOR by it's self has never been enough to completely keep you anonymous, never has, never will.
Using a VPN is really nothing too big of a problem to worry about, find a trusted provider, who has terms of not keeping any sort of logs, and you will be fine.
There are other options, but just using TOR is never enough!
