General Delivery to Yourself when Travelling?

I've read all the posts on having things shipped to your hotel and also flying with stuff, so I'm fairly aware of the pros and cons of each. However, I'm planning to stay at an Airbnb that doesn't accept deliveries. Note this is only in regard to domestic US.

Going the flight route, the powder I want to take (roughly 10 gs), even when capped and mixed with other legit pills, might draw suspicion through check in (I know they're not looking for drugs, but how many "supplements" would cause a red flag in scanning? Additionally, I have legit scripts that come in capsules, which would be ideal to empty and refill, but I can't for the life of me get them open without breaking the cap. If anyone has advice on separating already locked gel caps (or somehow opening and resealing inconspicuously), I would appreciate that as well.)

I'm debating another route: mailing myself clothes and whatnot as a General Delivery to the post office of the arrival city (General Delivery is where they just hold something at the post office for the recipient to pick up). I was thinking vac seal and mylar stuff I already have and then hiding it inconspicuously among my other items (examples: the pocket of a pair of jeans or underneath the insole of shoes). Supposedly they hold these types of deliveries at the PO for 30 days, so I would just send like a week in advance to the local PO and upon arrival just pick up my package. My thinking is it would seem as though I'm just trying to avoid the cost and possibility of losing a checked bag.

Of course, this eliminates all aspects of anonymity and plausible deniability, but I feel the likelihood of detection would be so low that it's a viable option. Then again, I've read that General Delivery is somewhat rare, so that could cause a red flag and extra scrutiny.

I know OPSEC-wise, it's a big no-no, but does anyone have experience with something like this? Would I be better off just capping it and taking it on the flight? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If you powder is brownish, sandy MDMA, pour all ten Gs into a small glass jar, and add a mixture of real rocks and a bunch of seashells. Write the name of the nearest beach on the glass jar in paint marker and affix some twine for flare. Steal a price tag off another item and affix it to it. Then insert the jar into your anus.

Capsules aren't generally suspicious, unless you look like a junkie. Dress nice, pack your carryon and bathroom bag to the brim with OTC drugs, bandaids, qtips, real script drugs with your name on them and other things that germ-phobic people love. You'll probably be fine. Unless you aren't.

I would get small items like toothpaste or lens solution that are packaged in a small box. Carefully open boxes and put your stuff in there, carefully gluing them shut again. Or you can take apart a men's deodorant stick and hide things in there. That toiletry bag is a drug storage satchel amigo.

So, I can tell you from personal experience that sending to a PO c/o general delivery absolutely works. However, I can't tell you if it works for drugs specifically. I've sent things on to other towns for general delivery (non-drug things) and picked them up many times before. If you do this, make sure to write on the box "please hold for pickup." If you're going to do it, you're thinking the right way in terms of shipping clothes. The other option is to ship things like packaged foods. For instance, if you opened a box of mac and cheese, taped the bag to the cheese powder package, and resealed the mac and cheese box, any potential scanners would be unlikely to be able to distinguish the drugs from the package of cheese powder inside the mac and cheese.

But yes, general delivery is totally a thing.

I have literally taken these filled to the brim with pills through the airport in a carry on many times (Just this past weekend as well).

2 things I would make sure of are that there is no clear reason for your bag to be checked (liquids over 3 oz, didn't take out computer, etc.) and that you have different pills in the container (can be accomplished by just buying different looking capsules if you're moving powder).

The one time I was questioned about them (bag checked for the 3oz liquid deal, even though my container was 3 oz), I just said I buy my vitamins/minerals in bulk and make my own because it's so much cheaper and I have bad reactions to a lot of them.

Bottom line is they aren't going to stop you and test it. Worse case scenario they tell you that you can't carry it on, but that's never happened.
