How to spot a possible scam?

I just made an order through NouveauEst and they asked me to FE early. I never FE early because that's really risky. So I go through their reviews and in the last 5 days I notice that all of the reviews are about FEing early "will update when it arrives". To me this is really sketchy.

So should I be worried?

Finalize Early early. Am I getting that right?

Ask him to cancel and tell him your personal policy is to never FE, especially if it's a vendor you don't trust.

If you're unable to find a comparable one, offer a partial (no more than 25%) finalize if he sends you a tracking number.

Personally I refuse to FE ever, but I agree that it's OK in cases that people have long, trustworthy relationships. But a recent string of new FE is a huge alarm for me and I would absolutely not do it myself. I would find a new vendor, absolutely.

Yeah, I saw a relatively new vendor selling my DoC, I even messaged him asking about it b/c the price was much lower than the going rate. He replied, said some bullshit. Anyway, it wasn't on his profile but apparenlty he was making people FE - saw the "FE will update" on reviews. Then a week later everyone was calling out his scam.

So I guess if you are really intent on ordering from this vendor and FE'ing, wait until the review updates come in. I saw this same exact thing and it ended up being an FE scam. I don't FE. It just makes things more complicated.

i generally would never FE at all but especially if there is no feedback saying they FE'd and got the product - by a general rule of thumb i would require like 10 to 15 pieces of feedback like that before i considered finalizing early. Some markets also show the buyer stats so you can tell if this is the buyers first order(may be a shill in this case) or if they have multiple orders from multiple vendors they are likely to be more legit.

Two Signs of a scam (Not always a scam but can be giveaways): 1) Vendor requests FE with no mention of it on listings or profile 2) Sudden wall of FE feedback

Just don't FE, ever and its really difficult to get scammed.
