Does anyone here actually have first-hand experience with renting a private mailbox (from a UPS Store type of place) using a fake ID? I understand that doing so exposes me to additional charges if I'm ever caught, which is a risk I'm willing to take because I believe that I can use such a mailbox to substantially reduce my chances of being caught in the first place. What worries me, though, is the possibility that the USPS might actually check the validity of the ID when I rent the box. I've seen one person claim that they do this, but I've also seen a lot of other people claim that fake ID will work no problem, that they just file away the copy for future reference. Does anyone have any sources to back up either of these claims? Any first-hand experience attempting this?
I've rented/done business with a dozen UPS Store mail boxes.
There is a standard UPS Store/USPS Form that is required to be completed while presenting 2 pieces of ID. Sometimes they'll retain a photocopy of your ID others will not. The UPS Store does not forward any of this paperwork to the USPS, rather they file it and are required to present the documentation upon request from the USPS.
Pay a homeless person the open up the box and you can also use a different homeless to pick up the drop.
