[PSA/Article] UK Parliament looks at banning tor

A report from the UK Parliament regarding blocking Tor, basic summary is Tor isn't going anywhere. Here are some juicy bits...

"For example, when the Chinese government attempted to block access to Tor, Tor Project Inc. introduced secret entrance nodes to the Tor Network, called 'bridges,' which are very difficult to block."

With an estimated 2.5 million daily users, Tor is by far the most popular anonymous internet communication system

from 2007, the US National Security Agency (NSA) stated that it "will never be able to deanonymize all Tor users all the time", but with "manual analysis" a "very small fraction of Tor users" can be deanonymised.

Yeah that wont happen. Up in Canada ISPs are trying to get VPNs banned. It's almost as if the people running the countries don't understand the technologies they want regulations on.
