Downloading off market?

I use TAILS through a VM. I've been considering getting guides off the market with my spare change. Some basic questions: 1) Will I need a downloading client? 2) Will TAILS delete the content I downloaded after exiting?

Thanks for any info. Don't hear much about digital stuff besides hacked accounts.

There is no point in using TAILS as a VM, because your host can still see everything you are doing. You can't even spoof your MAC because your network is bridged or NAT

Probably not.

Yes, unless you setup a virtual disk in the VM to save it on.

Partitioning and mounting a hard drive is a privileged operation. In order to do it, you will need to set an administration password at bootup. This password is not persistent and will need to be set for any Tails session that requires you have root access:

Boot Tails.

Select "More options > Yes".

Enter whatever you want the administration password to be (twice) and hit Login.

You can use this method to create an encrypted volume on the virtual drive:

If you attach a USB flash drive to the VM, you could create an encrypted volume on it instead of using a virtual drive.
