Should I Be Mixing My Coins?

I buy my bitcoins off localbitcoins via Amazion gift cards, bought from a store with cash. I was wondering if i should be mixing my coins, since the sellers ask for a photo of the receipt and that shows the store, time etc that i bought the amazon card. My question is would that be enough information to bust me or since it was bought in cash, you wouldn't worry?

Well, like any of this stuff, I'd say it depends on your threat model.

Theoretically, most machine-printed receipts are uniquely identifiable and can be correlated with the exact time of the purchase. If the store you bought from has cameras (and which ones don't, these days?), then if LE got ahold of that image, they could then subpoena the store for their surveillance footage for that time period, in order to get an image of you.

Of course, an image of you isn't immediately identifying, but it could become identifying with a little more legwork. All in all, we're talking about a pretty in-depth and expensive investigation - the type that's pretty damn unlikely unless the LBC seller you're using ends up in some SERIOUS hot water.
