Well, now that I have completed my last major task as a moderator, it's time for me to move on. I've seen so much shit during my time here. Over two years of being a mod if you don't count the breaks I took in between. I think I can walk away proud knowing that I always did what I thought was best for the subreddit. Made a lot of friends, and probably some enemies too. If we're not on the best terms, well, you probably deserved it. I have always had a strong desire to make this a better place and help people, and I'm proud of what I accomplished during my time here.
I figured since I've seen so much shit I'd do an AMA. I think it'll be fun, maybe even a bit cathartic as I'm pretty saddened by recent events. If there's anything you've ever wanted to know about the behind the scenes workings, this is where to ask. I don't have a desire or requirement to stay "professional" anymore. I told the remaining mods I would stay on as a moderator until the completion of this AMA, in case any of you ask me questions about things only a moderator would be able to see, such as deleted threads or comments.
So yeah, ask me about whatever. I'm pretty sure I've seen more than anyone else, and dealt with more BS than anyone else too. I'll try to give you guys the inside scoop on things, the transparency you all ask for. I've been intimately involved in just about every major decision and drama that has ever occurred on this sub, for better or for worse. From Pinkslime to Lobali, and everything in between (HugsForDrugs, InfinitelyOutThere, Astrid). That's probably just the tip of the iceberg.
And before anybody asks, no, I never took a bribe. Money never influenced a single decision I made on this subreddit (with the slight exception of Mr. Mackey). I actually "lost" quite a bit of money if you consider the loans I have given to people that remain unpaid. Hopefully those people will do the right thing, as I have always tried to do.
So, where should we start?
can you confirm that /u/Theeconomist1 is a fed?
