Is their a difference between a mylar bag and a moisture barrier bag? They just prevent smell from leaking correct?
I hear vac sealing will still leak smell over time

Many MBB's are made of mylar, but not all mylar bags are MBBs. You can have clear, plastic MBBs, for example.

Moisture barrier bad is different than a mylar and a MBB should be used.

Mylar is a type of plastic bag, but its actually a trade name for PE or PTE bags. There are metallized mylars, these are MBB's. Its the aluminum coating that causes the moisture transition rate to be very low. While MBB's tend to be somewhat heavier for extreme applications like army MRE's, even a foil balloon is the same thing, and most candy wrappers are foil lined plastics to keep moisture in.

I always assumed a MBB is made out of mylar, but I'm not an expert.
