Android Possibilities

hypothetical question here. Long time lurker. So I was playing around with my droid and it is rooted of course and I have managed to proxy ALL outgoing traffic through tor along with entire phone encryption and I also utilize strong pgp applications (apk, etc) for communication... Furthermore, I have disabled data, gps, geolocation and have a custom firewall for apps AND a Vpn if I really feel it's imperative. Anywho, I guess my question is how this setup compares with other os's like tails which are in theory comparable (except for the amnesic portion of course)... Like is there spyware or other pre-installed bloat ware capable of compromising security I should be aware of? Might I add that I am using a Samsung. Anyone who is versed in opsec please feel free to throw in your 2 cents. Thanks.

Androids are insecure, you can't secure them from a third party or intruder no matter how many apps you install. Your browsing, calls, msgs, locations can all be monitored.

If you straight don't give a fuck and just wanna order some drugs that's probably the best you can do.

You were at least sort of ok until you mentioned that it was Samsung. You can mess with the software all you want, but if you don't have the knowledge to alter their hardware then you can't get around built-in backdoors. Oh, and you better believe that there are. There was a guide floating around somewhere (I think the noob subreddit has a link) that goes over the entire process. It isn't for the faint of heart (or technically inept).

Remember this...

Telecoms and every other 3 letter agency with back doors (or in plain sight) are logging everything we do on our mobile devices and storing everything in their Utah data warehouse. Are they looking at it...99.99% chance they aren't, unless you might me a terrorist. I have a feeling you aren't.

With that being said, you can use all of the software in the world the TorProject recommends (Orbot, Orweb, Orfox, Proxy, VPN) or whatever else you chose to install.

None of that gives you the protections a Tails USB provides...or at the very least, a simple Tor setup on Windows.

The takeaway is...if you choose to use your setup to access anything DNM...use it to browse...not to purchase.
