Please review my taper plan and make sure I don't kill myself

Hi, quick back story, sometime before Christmas there is going to be a surprise drug test (I was tipped off by a friend). I had a massive Xanax addiction and I am now proudly down to only 1.5mg Diclazepam once a night.

I asked my doctor for Diazepam but he forced me to take Clonazepam instead. Since the surprise test could come any day now I am going to start only taking Clonazepam immediately. So I have a total of 300mg perfectly legal Clonazepam that if it were to show up in my piss would be 100% legal.

Does anyone know if Clonazepam is safe to taper with? Compared to Diazepam and Diclazepam, where does it stand?

How does this taper schedule sound:

September 21st to September 28th

September 29th to October 6

October 7 to October 14th

October 15th to October 22nd

October 23rd to October 30th

October 31st to November 7th

November 8th to November 15th

November 16th to November 23rd

November 24th to December 1st

December 2nd to December 9th

So I plan on tapering using only 30.1mg Clonazepam for the complete taper, do you think I should double the taper plan time-wise? Or is it a pretty good plan?

Why would he give you something stronger and shorter lasting for tapering wtf? does he know you are tapering? is he telling you how to taper?

I think 1 week between may be too quick in my experience, but i'm not a doctor, i'm just lonely this morning.

That should work fine. I went from 8-12mg klonopin to 0mg a day, literally cold turkey, which required hospitalization. It was absolutely awful and terrible, and I suffered for months afterwards, but 4 years later, I'm no worse for the wear, ha. But no really, your plan sounds very responsible. The ashton method calls for valium, but klonopin has a pretty long half life too, just requires liquid titration more towards the end.

The odd part about my story is that the benzos were all legally prescribed. My doctors decided in December that I had anxiety disorder, and started me on a huge dose of Librium. In January they decided to switch me to a huge dose of Xanax (by prescription standards), and by February they switched me to a huge dose of Klonopin. In March they figured out that in addition to the remarkably high doses they were giving me, I was popping extra pills like candy, and decided to cut me off and told me to go a hospital. Got to love American healthcare. Was a rough time, but 4 years later, I'm actually in the best shape of my life, and my mental health has been great for years. Sans benzos :) (still plenty of herb and psychadelics though)
