Silk Road 2.0 ; What happened?

What actually happened to the staff of that site? Why didn't that guy in San Francisco get life like Ross ;s

How many of the other admins were undercover feds?

Dunno. Defcon wasn't an undercover Fed, but there were two corrupt ones on SR1 that were prosecuted, at least one more who got away with it, and one who stayed undercover into Silk Road 2.

Ross U seems like a clever but honest liberal who had a dream of free-trade. He took 4 existing things and brilliantly combined them to be the 4 pillars of the "Silk Road Model", which every DNM since has used (Except Silk Road 2.0, ironically)

  1. TOR

  2. Bitcoin

  3. Escrow

  4. Customer and Vendor feedback

Ross didn't lead an extravagant lifestyle, sharing accommodation like a student. Now he's sharing accommodation with murderers. But he never lied to us, or ripped us off.

Defcon did both, telling us it would hurt our COMMUNITY if I complained about my stolen escrow,( like Artie Ziff talking to Marge about his busy hands on prom night), but driving round in the Tesla electric sportscar I helped to buy for him. while I walked in the rain in my tux like Homer Simpson.

I sold my car to finance my first batch of meth for the darknet, and pay the 3.5 btc Silk Road deposit. I then had bitcoin stolen by bent cops, the FBI, Sheepmarketplace. Then nearly by Decon at Christmas 2013 when he pretended that Defcon had run off without telling him where the escrow was kept (I messaged him the escrow wallet address, and showed him that bitcoin was being spent by it so SOMEBODY in SR2 had its keys), then finally Defcon on Feb13th last year - a week after Silk Road's sister site MTGOX decided it was time to quit.

I've got enough money to buy a second-hand car again, finally. And I will. Right after I use it to finance BBMC's alphabay launch. Nothing can possibly go wrong.

Incidentally, You only get a deal to avoid prison by giving evidence or intelligence against somebody the cops want to nail more badly than yourself.

He snitched.

[3 Points] low_la:

I would bet since Ross's case was higher profile they made an example out of him.

[1 Points] SomethingOrNothin:

Who did he snitch on tho, wasn't he the top guy of SR2 :S

[1 Points] drimilr:

I wish /r/AskDNMHistorians was a real sub

[1 Points] drugaudits:

also im convinced they invaded swims home and destroyed his possessions and relationships early. swim helped everyone he came across and tried his hardest to figure it out whilst under massive consistant disruption and death threats
