What is an exit node?

I keep hearing this. Is this somethng to worry about when using tails/tor? Or just when you are using tor from your windows installation? Are exit nodes something that you need to setup? Are they not in place or whatever by default when running tails? Sorry for my ignorance

An exit node is like an anus, it's where all the shit goes through.

No this is not something you need to worry too much about. All of tor is ready with your tails or browser bundle.

What you should worry about are malicious tor exit nodes. They can change the text on your browser, change your links, and change anything on clearnet sites such as reddit in order to send you to phishing sites or other bitcoin stealers.

A node through which stuff may exit
