Im terrified that im developing an Opiate addiction and need some advice

I used to be able to pop one Perc 10 and get high as a kite, now i have t o take 3 just to feel a buzz.

I dont want this to get out of hand and want to quit cold turkey. Can i just simply stop taking Opiates without having any withdrawals or will i need to taper off like I did with Xanax?

Should be very easy for you to quit at the moment.

[4 Points] MDMangel:

WILL POWER Brother! Yes, you will suffer some, but any user can tell you this. But do you want to quit or not?

[6 Points] AmazinPride:

eating 3 percs?Lol, you'll be fine going cold turkey. Mostly will be mental rather than a physical issue with such low doses

[5 Points] thatoneguymla:

You might not be at withdrawal stage yet. Having to increase dosage just suggests a tolerance. Don't take any opiates for 24 hours and see how you feel after your last dose. If you experience anything greater than mild discomforts probably some type of w/d symptoms.

[2 Points] aSchizophrenicCat:

You're developing a tolerance, which can lead to addiction. Use in moderation. Like the other guy said, will power.

[2 Points] ShemsuHor:

Few years back, I was IV'ing four Roxi 30's per shot. As in, 120mg in a single dose, just to get an actual (mild) rush from it. I wouldn't be too concerned about taking just 30mg a day, but if you're doing it every single day even at that amount, yeah, you could end up having some slight withdrawals. But at 30mg a day, it probably won't be much worse than constant yawning, mild depression, and maybe a runny nose for a few days. I'd probably be more concerned with the amount of acetaminophen you're now taking daily.

[2 Points] Kazaa99:

Worst is that a good amount of Xanax is actually a great drug when fighting opiate addiction.

But for only 3 percoset you should be fine. Maybe use some Diazepam for withdrawals (if any). If you don't want any benzodiazepines because of previous xanax addiction, then you could use a "Z-benzoe". Zolpidem is pretty good at calming things (and make you pretty stoned aswell)

Whenever I feel myself slipping into it, I always head myself off with a heftly dose of LSD. It allows me to sort of reset and realize opiates aren't doing anything for me in reality.. for like a week!

BTW any time you want to force a break, you can buy some subs (subutex/suboxone: real name buprenorphine) which is a long-lasting partial agonist with super high affinity for the Mu opioid receptor. Even if you pop a couple percs while on bupe you will (mostly) feel nothing.

[2 Points] brokengodmachine:

Sounds like you're still on the low side of the opiate tolerance spectrum, so I think you'll do fine just stopping cold turkey. Quitting now may seem terrifying but it's just psychological for you at this point (based on what you said, I assume you have little to no physical dependency) so I recommend going cold turkey now, before you reach the point of physical dependency. You might feel a bit anxious for a few days but that should be all. If you need to, smoking weed helps a lot of people during opiate recovery. It definitely helps with the anxiety in my experience.

Personally, I have been always taught that quitters never win. Soooooo, my advice is to keep on winning!

How many mgs a day of oxycodone are you taking? Oxycodone wd isn't too bad and I would not stress it. Especially the amount it sounds like you are taking. I was taking up to 100mgs a day and for me Kratom wds were worse. Oxycodone withdrawal sucks for about 2 days but like I said it is not that bad compared to other opiates I have withdrawn from like oxymorphone(the worst) and heroin. It takes will power like u/MDangel said. Xanax withdrawal also has it beat by a long shot. You got this homie. Quit cold turkey. Take immodium at around 20mgs and some cold medicine and you want even notice the withdrawals. Oh and most importantly hydrate.

[1 Points] Pelican_Vendor:

at 3 perks just flush everything you have right fucking now. You will have no to withdrawal all will be mental. If it helps pgp me your info I will send you a pizza and in 7 days I want to know if you had more perks and if so I will hire some one to beat your dick off with sandpaper.

edit: sorry can't do the pizza... Giftcard ran out

Lol I was like you about a year ago, I'm an opiate addict trying to get clean. Let me tell you, if you can't afford it and want out GET OUT NOW. I didn't cos my tolerance with opiates stay low for some reason but I ain't complaining but I didn't quit before because I didn't want to withdraw. Nigga lemme tell you, those withdraws ain't got shit on the withdraws I go through now. If you want out, now is the time to do it. Maybe get some adderall and benzos. That's what I'm doing right now to quit but I know I'll be back shortly.

[1 Points] MAXIPAD1923:

Quit right now. soon you will be needing 90 mg to feel anything. you might try heroin. it could get bad. i just ended this battle

[1 Points] Spa__ce:

You can certainly quit cold turkey much. For me personally i have about the same tolerance you described and do not experience any physical withdrawals when i quit. Thankfully its not Xanax which is like the worst drug to get off in my opinion.

However I have a system. I allow my self opiates once every seven days. This keep my tolerance manageable so that i maximize the effect AND it prevents me form developing any kind of physical addiction. Also makes my Saturday of Sunday a blast.

[1 Points] Suck_a_gerbils_dick:

Here's how you can painlessly withdrawal from this habit:

10mg of loperamide per day 30mg of dextromethorphan 2x per day 1mg of clonidine 2x per day if you can get it from your doctor. Just go in blood pressure higher than 140/80.

Painless i promise, your habit is nothing really.

[1 Points] PierceArrow02:

the level you're at now, IF you do by chance have some withdrawls(this depends on how long you've been on a binge) grab yourself one strip of suboxone and take maybe, MAYBE 2mg of it the first day. Second day go down to one, then the last two mg or 1/4th of th strip, cut that into 4 .5mg pieces and you should very likely be just fine....long as you don't keep going. Its a slippery slope with opiates lol ask ANYONE whose had any issue with them and you'll know.

[1 Points] TunedInandTurnedup:

Or kratom will help ween you off.

[1 Points] supreme_entity:

Bruh you need 3 Perc 10s to get high not 2 80s Ahahahah just stop taking them if you feel like your gunna get addicted

[1 Points] Devoid_:

Just flush the shit while your strong if your serious. Or at least sell it if you need the money but that's the only way. Get that shit out of the house then just eat Kratom or smoke weed everytime you crave opiates. Treat the cravings like a symptom that needs to be treated and kratom has been very effective for me

[1 Points] Lucid_Enemy:

I'd taper just so you know how much of a bitch the psychological part can be do it super rapid.... Today take 3 tomorrow take 2 day after 1 and none after that... It'll let you realize how compulsive opiates make you and will also make the w/d easier (you shouldn't have too much of an issue at 3/day)

[1 Points] EastOaklandCase_Boys:

You should check out the the Opiates sub reddit. I'm not really tech savy or "Reddit savy", so I'm not sure how you tag it (r/Opiates ?? lol), but on their sub, on the right column, they have a very helpful "WD survival guide." You should check out that sub.

Also, at your point, you may have WD's, but you should honestly cold turkey it and never look back. You're at a fork in the road. The WD's you will face right now will be NOTHING like the WD's you'll face 1-2 years in the future if you continue using. Even now, you are questioning your use and your possible addiction. This is a good thing since your literally in the infant stage of an opiate lifestyle. You can cold turkey, opiate WD's aren't fatal like benzo WD's and you don't have to worry about seizures. Good luck, I truly mean it.

[1 Points] mahituna:

It already has gotten out of hand. It will only get worse not better. Stop now and save yourself a ton of money, aggravation and misery.
