After a series of events recently, I decided to maximize my OPSEC to stay as safe as possible. I was using Tor on Windows 7 installed on my SSD but now everything I need for DNM purchases is on my Tails USB drive.
Now that that is successfully set up, I need to remove any potentially incriminating information from my SSD.
So far I have deleted Tor, GPG4WIN, my keys (backed up on another USB drive), and browsing history. I also ran CCleaner.
Now as far as I know, a SSD is much better at securely deleting data compared to a HDD. But I feel like there are still traces that could be found if my computer was seized by LE. What extra steps can be taken besides reformatting the drive and reinstalling Windows? I would strongly prefer to not have to do this since it is a huge pain in the ass but if it's recommended in order to be safe then I can.
Thanks ahead of time for any advice.
it's actually harder to securely wipe data from an SSD vs HDD but there is software out there that will do it correctly
