Bitcoin really, really fast now w/ Electrum?

I've noticed the last week, I think right after the whole spamming issues w/ BTC, that my BTC transactions get confirmed ultra fast when I send from my Electrum wallet. I have the most up to date client and they seemed to have changed it so that the fees are somewhat variable, I guess a percentage of the overall coin being transacted. I haven't played around with the client enough to see what's going on, but transactions are getting confirmed crazy fast. Within like 5 or 10 minutes fast w/ 2 confirmations.

With other services, its still about the same speed. So maybe its simply the fees I'm paying are higher than they used to be via Electrum.

huh now that ya mention it?

yeah...the Blockchain, wallets seem to be too.

yest. did a withdrawl from Ag. (set to 15min) and it hit ma blockchain wallet in 2min 48sec flat. oh that was a "medium priorty" hash by the way too. (first one i ever seen like that)

but like you already thought of, i was moving larger amounts, an the fee,s were set higher.

If you can get two confirmations in about 10 minutes, then basically you're timing it just about perfectly. There's still plenty of times (like every other hour), where you're gonna get a half hour wait between blocks.

Confirmations happen no quicker than miners solve blocks... Never have, never will.

During all of the spam i've had no problems moving coin because my wallet raised the comission automatically to about 75% more than normal. But it's such a small amount of monetary value that it's less than the change i leave lying around on market.

Its nothing to do with the software you use (electrum) and everything to do with the miners/fees/spamload.

If you got 2 confirmations within 5 or 10 minutes then that was more on the miners getting lucky than anything your wallet was doing. But yeah, it's very well possible that the tx fees Electrum is using are higher than your last wallet's.
