Do you really think this is the first time this has been asked?

You're going to get a mix of answers.
My opinion is no, it's not safe. If you are just browsing I guess you would probably be OK as long as you never ordered from it.
Get yourself a cheap laptop of craigslist or something and use that.

its safe but i would use a throwaway account and NEVER order from your phone.

I know most people say it is safe to browse but not to order from, but can someone explain this in technical terms? AFAIK Android is a linux distro and although yes stock is shitty, custom ROMs like cyanogenmod are much safer without google/manufacturer shitty stuff.
In practical terms it would be much easier to dispose from a cellphone, no? You could use a disposable Android phone with no GPS and if someone knocked at your door you could flush it down the toilet.

What if you formatted the phone OS to a linux OS? Then it wouldn't be linked to a google account. And one could do pretty much what ever. Only downside is having to use WiFi at this point.
My best advise, get a phone that is not connected with a service plan of some sort. Don't even put service on it period. Use another phone for communications and whatnot. Would keep the 'real' phone cleaner at that.

No, I would never recommend using a phone for anything. A phone is a personal tracking device. Use a Raspberry Pi Zero if you need something cheap.

There has been a thorough response somewhere in the past about why it isn't safe... From what I remember if you really want to use it just browse, don't Order from it as this can be very hard to do pgp messages successfully and safely from your phone. Don't quote me tho

I wouldn't do it.

I even order from my phone, since Dream Market has one click encryption. If you're a one time buyer, you're perfectly safe

99.99999888789% of the time, I'm on mobile. I even order off mobile if it's from dream market and it's check box encryption option.

I use orbot and inbrowser. Been using this and placing orders over my phone for the past 2 years. Just me though.
No, and you will not have full functionality on markets either. You may browse the wares though!
