Anonymous Escrow Transaction Platform

Had a thought the other day and I wanted to run it up the flagpole here. What if there were simply a decentralized platform available to provide one time anonymous escrow based transactions? Vendors could have a separate not affiliated website where they listed their wares and pricing. Buyers communicate with vendors via the manner of their preference. Once a fee is agreed, the two parties execute the payment through the escrow platform.

Here's the difference... escrow platform has no insight into what the transaction is for. It is simply facilitating the financial transaction so therefore there is nothing to shut down and nothing illegal for LEOs to target.

Obviously one of the keys would be the moderators, but if the question is "did the desired object arrive y/n?" and no one ever mentions what is in the pack is there any issue?

Just some thoughts. Don't hate on me please.

what if i buy a product, vendor sends me sand from the beach, i dispute with escrow site, vendor replies with something like “the transaction was for sand, i delivered said sand.” the escrow site has no idea what the transaction was for so why would they not rule in favor of scamming vendor?

Which falls-through the moment disputes start rolling in. Illegal details/communication will come up. Even if they never did, there's a legal concept of which the layman terminology can be described as "should have reasonably known..." You would be charged under many existing laws, and for lots of counts.

The other problem with this is that it introduces 'yet another' unknown variable to the equation.
