During one of the latest Defcon statements, he gives us this wonderful nugget:
2. "The marketplace will relaunch as no-escrow. We will not re-implement escrow unless it is multi-signature and decentralized to multiple escrow providers (trusted mediators with feedback just like vendors). Never buy from a market which uses centralized escrow again. You will only get hurt no matter how honest the team is."
Now tell me, what is the point of this marketplace now? You may as well just list vendors and their products along with contact information. What is the difference in this now "FE only" market and just doing direct deals with vendors?
Reasons why simply doing direct deals with vendors is already better than using SilkRoad 2.0:
Cheaper prices. SR charges commission, which means vendor prices are slightly inflated to combat the commission. Most vendors will offer cheaper prices for customers willing to do direct business.
Along the lines of point #1, why in the FUCK would you be willing to let a market make money off of you and the vendor for doing essentially nothing? The option to "dispute", which rarely worked anyway, is now completely obsolete because you have to FE. So what is the market actually doing to make money? Hosting the site? Hosting the forums?
SR 2.0 is obsolete until they actually roll out a decentralized escrow system, which Defcon alludes to but gives zero concrete support to. This won't come soon; what motivates Defcon to work on a decentralized escrow system when he's sitting back making money doing absolutely NOTHING?
Do yourselves a favor, DarkNet users, and find some other way to get your drugs. Whether through another market (which I prefer, thanks to escrow) or through direct deals with trusted vendors, anything is better than giving money to this piece of shit site.
Reasons why Silk Road 2.0 is obsolete:
1. Nigga, is you retarded?
(Directed at anyone needing reasons or explanations as to why it is.)
