How to Identify an under cover, and keep your operation secure.

Hey all, I'm just wondering how or what will give away, or can give away an undercover cop. No stupid things like asking them if they are one, or anything like that.

Is there any way to verify a new client beforehand? For example, would requiring your client to have vouches from 2 people at LEAST you 100% know are not cops decrease your chances of getting caught?

Discuss here ways to verify people, but make it hard for LEO to infiltrate. I'd like to see the creative thinking people come up with on this subreddit!

EDIT: I DO NOT MEAN ON DARKNET MARKETS. I MEAN IN REAL LIFE, FOR REAL LIFE DEALERS.

In terms of LE?... Don't trust anyone who doesn't do drugs in front of you or with you.

[7 Points] badgrl2:

Most undercovers won't trip acid or do anything where they're not on top of their game, but that's a pretty huge pain in the ass

If they arrest you, they're probably an undercover.

A snitch will vouch for the undercover cops. Be carefull there.

Digging real deep can give some thing away... Where did they get their laptop, phone, car, house; who where the previous owners (if it is LEO, or someone LEO related, that is questionable) and does this match up to the information you ran on these devices? (Cars are easy, with VINs, cellphones can be a little harder, try the serial/IMEI number, and check with providers. Laptops should have a serial number.)

Also, look for public records first, then ask them questions about their past. Call up/ make a visit to their highschool, posing as an employer (lol). Then check out your finding with the person in question. Also, do their mannerisms and speech match their proclaimed level of education? Have they had any past recorded trouble with the law? Does ANY public records they have consistently match up to who the person in question is?

If they don't have public records about them, huge red flag.

Also, references. Find other people from this persons contact list that know them. Call them up as an employer, and give em the run down like they where listed as a ref.

There are a few other things, but this is off the top of my head right now...

Make them get naked, and have them let you poke and examine any open orifices--mouth, nose, etc.

Get creative here! You never know where they might be hiding a wire! Though, after a thorough examination, you will know :D

No, absolutely not. Most controlled buys won't be from actual cops. If one of your customers gets busted the cops are going to come in all nice: "hey, we really don't wanna ruin your life kid. Just, tell us who you're getting this stuff from. If you work with us, you won't be charged at all". And three days later, he's wearing a wire on you.

I think it's already been said, but unless someone is doing all of the drugs you sell them in front of you, you can never be sure.

Their identity won't hold up to any decent scrutiny since it has been created for the task at hand. Ask them for their drivers license, or get their name and run a background check.

If you're about to do a deal with someone, it isn't unreasonable to figure out who you are dealing with and to ask them for info, especially if you have just met them.

If you are dealing at any decent scale, you should have a private detective on call who can run details like this for you.

If I don't know your first and last name, age, and a minimum of one stellar refrence or 2-3 moderately repuatable refrences, as far as you're concerned I don't have dick and I'm peddling corn meal and heads of lettuce from my organic garden

[1 Points] SociopathLogic:

As others have said, clients that have turned states evidence are your biggest threat. UCs are more of a threat for street dealers.

Red Flags for Rats:

Red Flags for UCs:

If you want to be paranoid by a metal detector hand held wand and sweep everyone before you talk business. Never do anything where you can be observed by a telephoto lens. But the truth is no matter how paranoid you are there's always a chance you're going to get busted.

Tips on Mitigating Risk:

Ultimately your weak link is always going to be your clients getting busted and cutting a deal. This means you want your clients to be paranoid and aware of the system, preferably without a record, as cops go fishing by pulling over people with records for kicks. Try not to carry more product on you than you have to. Have a good lawyer ready and BE SURE YOU KNOW THE PENALTIES for what you're doing should you get caught. If it's life without parole, you may want to off yourself before you get arrested. I was locked up once for 3 days and after that I know I can't spend more than a few years in prison.

You will get caught sooner or later if you're not just selling to people you have long time relationships with. Some junkie will get busted and rat you out for a reduced sentence or differed to a drug treatment program. Have a list of bigger fish you can fry in case they do or be prepared to serve time.

Not many people going to be able to get someone to vouch for them, completely blowing their anonymity....

LE won't do drugs in front of you, they can't do them because it would ruin their investigation. A confidential informant is allowed to do a certain amount of drugs to continue snitching.
