I got a package yesterday in the mail and the envelope was opened at the seal flap and resealed with tape with the USPS label on it. I opened it from the other end and all my products were there, so I was relieved. But when I inspected the envelope at the taped end from the inside, it looked like it was opened by someone running their finger from one end to the other. Messaged the vendor and told him about this and he said the package was sealed as it normally would be without tape. So I'm kind of freaking out right now and am not sure what's is going on. I only make two or three orders a month, but am thinking of not ordering for a while just in case it was LE or something.
I have always read that LE needs a search warrant to open your mail. Can they carry out the search without actually handing the warrant to you first?
I am a vendor shipping up to 50 packs a day. Many times during packing I make a mistake and have to reopen a package and reseal it with priority tape. Any vendor who is shipping a lot of packages has learned by now that USPS packages can open in transit. The priority tape is free and a great way to make sure your packages don't open up in transit.
