I know this has been said before, but I'm so damn tired of reading all these heavily upvoted comments and posts of people shitting on AB for all the classic reasons: how it's run by carders, how "too many people are losing their deposits", how shitty their support team can be.
Look people, this is the fucking wild west of the internet, if you haven't noticed. Illegal things happen here, like carding, fraud, and the buying and selling of illegal narcotics. Now honestly, I'm with you, fuck carders. That's a shitty thing to do. But not using Alphabay because it started out being run by people who do something "bad" is just as stupid (if not more) as not buying drugs because you don't want to support the murderous cartels that provided them to you. And seriously, if you think ABs support team is still carding after all they money they are making right now through open market commissions, you are a little slow. I would even say that all the other markets worth using at the moment support carding just as much as AB by allowing it on their market.
As for people losing their deposits, the instances of this happening is very very low compared to the number of people depositing and withdrawing on a daily basis. I don't even think it's ABs doing, but flaws in the block chain or their own code after they attempt to implement a new system (tumbling, off market account management, etc.) If anyone has ACTUAL PROOF of AB stealing from its customers as opposed to just speculation, please prove me wrong, but even so, the chances of that happening seem to be so slim, it's a non issue.
And the shitty support team kind of goes hand in hand with the fact that this is a black market, not fucking Amazon. Sure, it's possible to have great support on a DNM, but pretty rare, and far more rare when talking about markets of this size doing this volume.
Look, I'm no shill, I just don't get the FUD people feel the need to spread about AB. You don't wanna use it still? That's fine, if you can meet your needs on the other smaller markets and feel safe there, go for it. But I've been on here for long enough to watch the rise and fall of markets that all you haters claimed were "so much better and safer than AlphaBay" only to have your coins stolen in an exit scam.
I'm also not saying you should put all your eggs in one basket or trust ABs team with your life savings or anything. You all know you should never deposit an amount of bitcoin you would be unwilling to lose. I never keep my coins chillin in the markets and don't deposit huge sums all at once if you are nervous. But AB has been rock solid for me for the past year, it has the largest selection, some of the best security features, and a decent reddit presence. I'm sure as hell not jumping ship any time soon.
