Chromebook for darkweb

Hey

I have a chromebook and don't see any feesable way of using it to gain access to the dark web. If anyone here uses a chromebook for ordering online would they mind advising me on how they set up all their proxies and whatnot?

Thanks guys, any and all help is appreciated

It's a complicated process, but if you're persistent and have the technical know-how you'll be just fine.

  1. Read this ArchWiki article. It's specific to ArchLinux, but most of the process should work for other Linux distros like Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, etc. Lubuntu/Xubuntu will probably be your best option. Take note that not all Chromebooks will work with Linux.

  2. VPN will work fine, then you can run Tor Browser Bundle on top of that.
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/tor-browser
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install openvpn tor-browser

Then configure the VPN through OpenVPN as per your VPN provider.

As far as I know, TOR is not supported on Chrome OS. Have a look at these threads:

You could possibly run TAILS on the chromebook but reading those threads it can be somewhat complicated. You might be better off buying a cheap little laptop and doing all your DNM related stuff on there.
