Probably Not a Tor Exploit...

If Tor had an exploit that helped the Feds take down the markets, then wouldn't they also take down child porn sites and post that in the news as well? Doesn't this almost rule out a Tor exploit?

They took down playpen and only moved on cases where people took the plea or admitted to the crime /coroborated evidnce they already had.

They didn't persue cases where people were going to take to trial and I believe they didn't charge them to not reveal the method. They let GO a good bunch of walking scum to protect the exploit, so it may as well be a tor exploit

In order to prosecute child pornographers they would have to explain how they knew that they were viewing child porn, which would require them to reveal the technique to show it was their IP address accessing the site.

If however they try to arrest drug dealers/buyers, they don't directly use the exploit to prosecute. They would use it to find the location of the server/admins, then take control of the server. When giving evidence at trial they could simply say they discovered the vendor's identity from their admin access to the site. The user's IP addresses are irrelevant when they have their real addresses in unencrypted state.

You're insane if you think there are no tor exploits

The fact that alpha02 linked his personal email address to the market rules out an exploit. I believe it is possible for them to compromise TOR but like I said before, it would've been a waste of resources since the guy basically said 'this is me, come and get me'.
