stop giving legal advice!

Using a throwaway because dont feel like getting spammed on my regular account. Anyway I lurk on this sub alot and just enjoy reading shit that goes on here but holy shit So many people on here give the most bullshit legal advice and 99 percent of the time people have no idea what they are talking about. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH IT LEGALLY DO NOT TRY TO ADVISE ! Like people say the stupid shit and people upvote it and beleive it. My dad is a lawyer and he deals with alot of cases similar to stuff like this and I ask him about some of these scenarios and he seriously gets shocked that some of you guys say this stuff seriously. For example I saw a post about using a burner phone and the guy was like "if you are using a burner phone and you switch to a new one it takes the police months to get a warrent for your new phone." That is totally wrong because depending on the warrent the police could have a really broad warrent that allows them to monitor basically all phone communications even when you switch phone. Also they are monitoring your phone and they realize you switched burners the police can get a judge to sign a warrant to monitor your new phone if need be in hours ( especially since you were already being monitored anyway) kinda works the same way as how a police officer can stop u at 3 am and have a warrant signed to search your car signed by a judge by 5am. I know its really shitty since alot of people here think you know what you are talking about but most of the time you don't. It would jsut be crappy for someone to listen to what you say then get screwed over because of it.

Edit: gotta love how you try to help people out and everyone get butthurt about it. Oh well im hopping of this account take this however you want to. Have a great day :)

telling people to stop giving legal advice while giving legal advice is great!

before you give legal advice learn to spell warrant.

I do agree that so much of what is said here is bullshit though. We have a lot of young people here who have never came into contact with the law and have wishful thinking.

People believe what they want to believe.

I've read some funny stuff here along the lines of "...I thought they turn the other way for personal amounts." as if there was a law or bulletin that was issued in all 50 states or something. People don't realize that every city and county is different. Where I live you can walk away with nothing but a summons and few hundred dollar fine for heroin possession but travel across the river into the sticks a few hours and an empty bag gets you 3 years in state.

I always feel better in a big city personally.. these small hick town police often have nothing better to do. They will see a picture of you smoking weed on instagram and call your mommy or arrest you. Where I am there are so many crack/heroin/cocaine arrests daily you have to really be doing it big or a repeat offender to get time.

That's all beside the point.. Even though his argument leaves a lot to be desired and he makes himself sound like a teenager with a lawyer daddy, he does have a point. So much of the advice given here is purely hearsay or baseless.

Darknet markets are new territory... this is a new game for police. What they will do and how they will do it is often unknown.

But by all means, go ahead and order 1000 grams of mdma from the netherlands becuase "...if you don't sign for that package they can't do jack shit."

Police in America dont need a warrant to tap a phone lol.

That's a good reminder thanks. It would be awesome if once in a while you could pop in and give us a case file to read, which has relevance to what we are discussing. Your dad can't and won't give legal advice obviously, but providing the case number is still legal afaik and doesn't put anyone at risk.

EDIT: Me English good¡

My dad is a Circus Clown and he says if you ask a cop if he's a cop he has to tell you and never sign for any mail.

How would LE know if you're using a burner if you never have to enter personal information when buying/activating, and you get a new one every few weeks to a month and throw the other one away?
