TL;DR - My latest MDMA use was awful and disappointing, even though I got it from the same vendor as previous times that were great. I am trying to find out what went wrong.
I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on what might have gone wrong here. I ordered a 1g of MDMA from a trusted vendor I have used before that has 100% positive feedback. Previously, I had ordered pre-measured caps from this vendor and had a great time, but this time was different, even though supposedly the same product in rock/powder form.
Previous doses in the measured caps were 140mg, but felt a little "stimmy" to me on the comeup, so I pre-measured the dose this time at 125mg on a .001 scale.
Set and setting were at the end a long, but good day. The wife and I had thrown a dinner party and, although it was a lot of work and we were a little tired, the party was a success with good vibes, no drama, and everyone left happy. Setting was at home, in bed, next to my super-cool and naked wife, planning to drop some high-grade molly and get our fuck on.
No alcohol or other mood-altering substances were consumed this day. Last food intake was about 3 hours prior to dropping. The only substances taken beforehand were for me, 30 minutes before, about 25 mg of Viagra for obvious reasons, and about 4mg of Zofran/ondansetron for nausea. I had taken the Viagra on previous rolls with no problem. The Zofran was a new addition. The measured doses were mixed with cola, stirred and swallowed. The substance had sort of a "sickly sweet" smell, but a bitter taste. Immediately following the drop, took 2 hits of a high-grade sativa (weed). This has also been done on previous uses to help kick off the roll, and combat nausea.
The results were markedly different. Although this was a supposedly lower dose than previous uses, the onset was nearly immediate. Comeup was very sharp and rapid. Started getting tactile sensation increase by about 30 minutes, and that felt great, but then in an hour that went away, WTF? And then it started getting very overstimulating.
For the next two hours, heart rate went from normal 80bpm resting rate to cycling between 120-130 bpm as measured with a pulse-oximeter. This was while laying in bed watching tv. Then very uncomfortable over-stimulation, literally causing all-over body pain in "waves" that came about every 15 or so minutes. The lulls in-between felt ok, but still with increased heart rate, but no real anxiety. There was a bit of a "loved up" feeling, but not as pronounced as previous rolls. There was also very little, if any euphoria compared to previous rolls, which had been heavily euphoric, especially once hitting the peak after the comeup.
Other side effects included dilated pupils, eye-wiggles, and sweaty palms/chills/temp fluctuations, all things I had experienced on previous uses. Total duration was about 5-6 hours.
So, given the reputation of the vendor, the duration, and the side-effects, I am inclined to still think this was MDMA, vs. another or adultereated substance. Of course, I can't know for sure without testing, and the testing kit is ordered and on the way. If I find through reagent testing that this is cross-contaminated or bunk I will followup and out the vendor at that point.
But in the meantime, and again assuming this was real MDMA, why do you think it was so different? It had been about 2 months since my last roll, and only my third ever, so tolerance is unlikely to be an issue. I take no prescription medications at all, so nothing to interfere with the interaction.
My only answer I can come up with is that this was direct powder, vs. capped. Maybe the caps took some time to digest, allowing for smoother and less-speedier comeup, even though there was the higher dose? The only other significant difference was the Zofran, which did help to curb the nausea, but most of what I have read has stated that it should have no other reaction or potentiation of the MDMA.
I hope I can find an answer to this because I love rolling, but if this had been my first experience with it I would probably not go back. The negatives outweighed the positives on this experience.
Also worth mentioning is that this wasn't trippy or visual at all, so I am inclined to rule-out MDA, but it would explain a lot of other things if it was.

tl;dr you can't honestly say what you took was MDMA, sounds like you live a well adjusted life so invest in regent testing kits
