Yes, I know, there's one of these posted almost daily - but I couldn't find the same exact situation in the search bar. Package was a bit late so I contacted vendor and he gave me tracking. I opened it to see "Notice left (no secure location available)". Drop informs me there was no notice left.
From what I understand, this is completely normal and USPS will hold the package for at least 2 weeks. They might try to deliver it again? The problem is, I don't use a real full name when shipping. I just use the correct last name with an incorrect first name. I get some junk mail delivered to the drop in the incorrect first name. This way the mail man thinks someone with that name lives there & there's plausable deniability.
Anyways, what are my options? Can a person with the right last name and address (different first name) on the ID pickup the package from the post office? Should I wait for them to try to deliver it again? Should I call them to schedule a redelivery? Thanks
There is literally no reason to do this sillyness. You are not gaining any 'plausible deniability' this way. Eventually the drugs will end up in your hands, and if LE is trying to bust you they will happily wait until that moment occurs. Getting 'cute' with USPS is at your own peril.
Chances are, nope. This is one of the reasons getting cute with USPS is a bad idea. The other guy already mentioned your best bet.
