USPS express mail to an apartment

does USPS express mail deliver to your door or to your mailbox if the address is an apartment building? The vendor says "USPS express 1-2 day" but on USPS website it says guaranteed overnight, did they change that? Am I being unreasonable or should I just be more patient and never pay a ridiculous price for express that will take the same amount of time as priority?

its 1-2 day delivery.

It's not guaranteed overnight at all. The website is lying to you. It's usually overnight, but if you ordered late or live in bumfuck land then it could take a day. Some post offices have units that deliver only express mail, but sometimes express mail goes out with the regular mail. If you got a dependency, in need, then express may be the way, and it's also more riskier. If you're not in a damn hurry then yes priority is a better choice. If the vendor checks the box that says no signature required then it will likely go in your box. It also sometimes depends on the person delivering your mail. your welcome.

express is not usually delivered by your regular mail person so it will come at a different time, usually earlier than you're regular mail.

express has nearly always been 1 day for me. if you do have the tracking number, track it and it should say the guaranteed delivery by date/time.

but as to where it gets physically delivered. i live in an unsecured apt building and each unit has a mailbox at the buildings entrance. most of the time it's stuffed in my locked mailbox, sometimes they'll bring it right to my door and knock, and if i dont answer, they will fold it between the door knob and frame. and then sometimes, tracking will say it's at the PO awaiting my pickup. the last option is really fucking annoying when it tells me that at 12:25 on a sat and the PO closes at 12:30. luckily the PO is close by.

You can always call your PO and ask if they have an express package for you. they will ask your address and then look and then tell you. i know that seems sketch, but i've done it a bunch with no problems.

If your apartment mailbox has a lock on it then express mail will come to your door cuz it's a different postman most of the time and they dont all have master keys to each apartment.
