I'm making this post here to see if they will change their mind about this stupid mnemonic that's enabled on my account.
To cut to the chase, I have had my account for almost a year and never had any issues, never had to withdraw any coins because I usually just spent all of it, and the excess went to the next order. I never used my PIN once. A few months ago a deposited 1.8 BTC and somehow purchase on PIN became enabled, without my doing. I changed my password, slightly freaking out because I didn't do it, but then I read many reports on the forums about this happening to others as well.
So I frantically tried to unset this option, but it wouldn't work. I have contacted support, and they ignore my messages saying without this mnemonic they cannot help me. I wouldn't have a problem creating a new account, but right now the value of this 1.8 BTC has grown, and I don't know what to do.
EDIT: Edited some of my wording.
Anyone have any suggestions on whether or not they will budge with at least removing my purchase pin?
UPDATE: I got a quick "copy-pasta" response from disc0, saying they can't do jack shit. Alphabay get's a free $1.4k because they implemented some new shit, which autoset a PIN on my account. Oh and I tried 00000, no dice either. If anyone has any tips, or any mods want to bend the rules, I'd be willing to split the pot, it would be nice to have something, rather than nothing.
I feel like you're pushing the blame wrongly here, they stress multiply times to keep this information or suffer the consequences. This is your doing.
