Lots of people use safe-mail or riseup but a lot of places will work as long as you only connect via tor and PGP everything. Ideally you'll want a server not located in the U.S. that doesn't keep logs/deletes things after XY amount of time. Head over to /r/darknetmarketsnoobs if you have any questions, most have been answered there.

I like safe-mail but I would only use thay with pgp because I heard too many things that concern me. If you really want an email that will protect your privacy and don't mind paying a couple bucks look at mykolab. They are in Switzerland and are very security conscious. I spent a lot of time looking into this stuff and I am very impressed with what they offer.

Sigaint.org is good, that's their mail server which has an onion link to the real service

I'm mobile now, so format won't be so easy on the eyes. But this is a great list of ESP's that are pro-privacy. Some...more than others.

Protonmail, Riseup (offer free Van too) and Lelantos (pay, Tor only) are the some of the finest. I would not suggest safe-mail with too many reasons to list. However, if you do have an account there and encrypt EVERY email...then there's nothing to worry about.

There are actually quite a few email providers who offer onion access in the wake of tormail's demise:

Tor only (... combinable incoming w/ maskedmail.com, others?):
