Need help sourcing a cannabis strain for Alzheimer's

Like most of yall I'm home for the holidays and I'm just now seeing how bad the Alzheimer's is. I'm a grown ass man who's cried more in the past week than I think I have since I was 10.

Anyways, I'd greatly appreciate some help sourcing a strain that may slow down the brain deterioration or even just help with some of the symptoms.

There's a leafly page I'll post in the comments, but to summarize the list:

Blue bastard

Aloha

Papas OG

Blues

Grand Hindu

Critical 47

But again, kinda up for trying any strain if you think it'll help.

Thanks, and much love bros.

First sorry and my mom is lost.

I clicked the leafly link and using my location is it saying everything really. I have an account so maybe cookies. But I would think indica. No Dr but they say all strains do some good shit for broken brains. It is the THC from my understanding. Regardless Don't go off leafly. That is a big marketing tool.

Google cannabis and Alzheimers to find real patients that can suggest the best way to medicate. There caretakers obviously. You don't want to do it wrong. My guess RSO simple, strong and effective.

/r/mmj might help for ideas on which strain seems to help the most with Alzheimers. I like Kosher Kush as a medical strain for my neurological issues, sativas seem to be more neurologically active for me. A long term solution is to grow it yourself, it's the best way to be assured of what you're getting.

I'm sorry I can't help but I hope that somebody can help you find what you're looking for friend :)

Look into juicing cannabis leaves, that imo is the best way to flood the body with helpful cannabinoids. I hear there's a way to use dried buds that are rehydrated, but fresh leaves seems like it would work best.

I have nothing to add on the market front, but you might look into nootropics as well. /r/nootropics is a good place to start with a very helpful community.

Here is one article on the subject. There is a lot of potential in nootropics, but take everything with a grain of salt, do your own research, and get feedback from people who have actually tried them.

the link that you provided said that high thc helps..... but also high cbd helps? which is confusing and leads me to believe any form of cannabis will perform similarly.

[1 Points] Ethereality_DNM:

I would suggest something high in CBD if you absolutely must go the cannabis route, so try some RSO.

If you're willing to try other compounds, I know Ceretropic.com sells novel chemicals like memantine (which is what is in the brand name Alzheimers drug Namenda.) There are also other nootropics which have shown positive results for patients with dementia/Alzheimers disease. You may get a positive response if you ask in the /r/StackAdvice subreddit.

I'm sorry that you're going through this. I hope you find a solution that slows down the progression.

OP, Try /r/mmj for this question. IMO, the strain Harlequin is something to look into. It is high in CBDs and THC, so medically its pretty on point. But, then again IANAD.

Hey boss, remember it's not so much the strain as the quality for true medical users.

I can assure you that smoking a shitload of pesticides and mold will not do your alzheimers any good at all.

Find a good supplier, learn how to check for contaminants (black ash etc), buy a cheap usb microscope ($30) and look for pests and mold on your buds.

Ultimately, the best thing you can do is grow your own.

Been trying pretty hard to take my mind of killing myself/and or crying my eyes out the past couple of days too, so you're not alone - I know it don't mean shit, I hope the weed helps you.

Sorry you've had to deal with this. It's tough being forgotten by your loved ones. But I think that it might be better to let things be. Drugs may help but it seems to me that you are not responsible for your loved ones health. And certainly specific strains won't have significantly different medicinal effects than others.

It's hard to do, but let it go.
