2/15 DEA says Operation Decrypt involves "knock and talks" with identified US Citizens from Hansa / AB takedowns

Story here from 2/15/18:

https://www.dea.gov/divisions/hq/2018/hq021518.shtml

Interesting excerpt:

Further examination of the Hansa Market data revealed illicit drug purchase information identifying U.S. and Dutch individuals, resulting in numerous face-to-face doorstep visits by police (so-called "knock and talks") to suspected opioid buyers throughout the U.S. (Operation Decrypt)

Probably all FUD... anyone get a knock? Sounds like they are targeting H & fent people.

Nothing ruins a good opioid high like a knock and talk with the feds.

Operation Decrypt

Ooooh. Look at that nice scary-sounding operation name. They snag plaintext addresses from the low-hanging fruit while making it seem as if asymmetric encryption won't help us. The time-honored war tactic of feeding the enemy false intel. Nice one, DEA.

Operation don’t answer it

When it comes to talking to the police, JUST SAY NO.

[15 Points] MandyThatGirl:

I think we got a Sneak and Peek.. instead of the standard, Knock and Talk.

I don't know but I usually put one of my long blond hairs on the doorknob when I leave the house for a fed detecting device and that was gone recently along with several thin mint girl scout cookies.

"Probably all FUD"? Don't underestimate the ability of your adversary. They have money, time, etc on their side.

Sure they do the propaganda thing, but all they need to do is find a few weaknesses in protocols that y'all are using, then if they're smart, monitor a whole lot of you and pick off the 1)low hanging fruit / 2) the major operators.

I suggest you all up your game, i'd bet you're more visible than you realise, but that a lot of small time shit is given a pass, after all there are plenty of reports where suspects are 'known' to LE for some years before action is taken, either due to something major or a large enough collection of evidence.

This sub is...odd how members often try to diminish the risks, why would you not suggest ways to better protect yourself rather than broadcasting a "lol dw guys, fud, cops r dum, keep to business as usual" message? Look after one another and be safe

A talk with a cop also ruins a weed high. So annoying

Aw come on, really someone cares ?

Go watch "Never get raided again" or "never get busted vol 1 and 2" on youtube.

A "knock and talk" or "rep and rap" is VOLUNTARY! Here is the solution:

Dont open your fucking door!!!!

If they had a RIGHT TO FORCE YOU TO TALK TO THEM THEY WOULD NOT BE KNOCKING, THEY WOULD BE KICKING IN THE DOOR!

Learn your rights, or be a slave.

What a joke....Just Say no..

[1 Points] bubbleboy3000:

Hahaha what the fuck are they going to do..

Can’t arrest someone for something they can’t prove.

No drugs in my hand. No case.

Good luck to them!! Maybe they will have luck in the US. Wouldn’t be able to do shit anywhere else

I shove fentanyl up my bootyhole am I fucked?

[1 Points] EternalTurmoil:

I'm curious how they identified AB users. Didn't encrypt? Correlated orders with mail or customs records? I'm guessing anyone who ordered domestic and encrypted themselves didn't get a knock.

Knock and Shut the Fuck Up
