So I am expecting a package today and get s text from myusps that its been delivered. When I went to the mailbox nothing was there, and my neighbors told me they haven't received anything either.
I called my post office and and said that sometimes they do that when they're on your street. I waited two hours and still no mailman. When I called back she was willing to help.
She took my tracking number and repeated the right address back to me. Then she put me on hold and called the delivery driver. When she came back on the phone she said the dumbass delivered my package two hours ago to the wrong people, and that the mailman is going to back track and get my pack from where be dropped it off at.
Now they have a GPS thing when they scan packages on delivery right? I'm pretty sure they do and I hope that he can get it easily, and nobody has opened it to find all my stuff. I mean when I get someone else's mail I don't open it up.
I'm sure everything will be ok. I don't think I drew too much extra attention to myself. Hell the pack jas my name on it anyways i can just deny if it comes down to it. What do you guys think? Just wanted to let people know that have had issues with mail saying it's delivered and it not being there that maybe they should call your post office because sometimes they hire people that can't read and they probably delivered your pack to someone else, and that's. Why it takes a day or two to get finally get it. I hope the guy fixes his mistake and it hasn't been open because it's Saturday and nobody is at work. Just had to get this. Out my system and thought it might help someone in the future.
Edit: He came by and said he looked in all the mailboxes where he said it was delivered and I asked him if some of the mailboxes were empty. I asked if the one matching my house number was empty and he said yes. Then I told him it was a priority envelope, and all the sudden he says oh I remember it now. So he's going back to that address and is going to have to knock on the door to get my shot back which he should have done the first time. I pray they didn't open it and I pray it at least has mbb or some visual decoy so maybe they realize its not theirs
Edit 2: He pulled back up in ten minutes with the package with a plastic cover saying it's damaged and sorry. The person opened the box and slit the mbb even. You could see s bag with green stuff but it wasn't slit enough to take the back out and al ost double my order was there. I got lucky. If I wouldn't of called who. Knows what would of happened.
Deny it? You checked the tracking then called them up!
Tricky situation for sure though.
