Be honest with your lawyer, but be careful to speak in generalities and let them ask the questions. There is a bit of a tightrope you sometimes need to walk when talking to your lawyer.
A lawyer is ethically and legally prohibited from suborning perjury. This means that if you testify, he cannot ask a question that he knows you will lie about. A good lawyer will steer that first meeting in a way that will preserve all possible defenses.
For example: You get a pack intercepted and you get arrested. You lawyer up. If you say, "I ordered this pack of drugs on the internet." Now your lawyer can't put you on the stand and use a plausible deniability defense. So yes, you need to be truthful with your lawyer, but be careful about blanket admissions of guilt.

Make sure you sign a client confidentiality agreement and then be very honest and thorough so that they can find the best route to defend you. The hard parts finding a good lawyer. I had many expensive lawyers who were all supposed to be great until I finally found one. You need to find a balance between someone experienced who knows the DAs and judges, and someone who knows the law extremely well and is hungry for success and to make a name for themselves. Talk to people you know and go to criminal Court and watch how the different attorneys perform in court.

It means to keep your mouth shut to LE & ask for a lawyer. At this point, they can no longer talk to you.....

Tell the truth. I lied to my lawyer once (not dnm related) and made both of us look like idiots in court, so embarrassing. They're job is to try to keep your ass out of jail so if there's some pertinent info you're holding back or lieing about it may come up in court and bite you in the ass.

There are two people you never lie to; your doctor and your lawyer.

Always tell your lawyer the truth. They are on your side..
[1 Points] Theeconomist1:
Your lawyer will not be able to rigorously defend you if you lie to him/her. Answer the questions they have truthfully assuming you have atty client privilege.

Thanks for all your replies. I'm not in any trouble (that I know of any way) I've just always wondered what you do with regards to getting a lawyer. Cheers

Being criminal might not be for you

Its best to lie.
The lawyer is just there to fuck you over. Don't listen to what everyone is saying.
They wear wires and hand the recording of what you say straight to the police/judge/president of the states.
the Laws that people say protect you, they actually are the governments version of the kama sutra. Providing them countless different ways of fucking you straight up the ass, until you are begging to be waxed, pre lubed, and thrown in to be bubbas little bitch.
The only person out to get drug users more than Nixon himself, are lawyers.
