I have noticed it dropping quite a bit the last week or 2. Is something happening? (I mean are bitcoins starting to be regulated or something like that)
Whats up with BTC price drop?

Yeah, the whole BTC market is reverting back to the mean after the ridiculously huge bubble a year ago.
Granted, it's taking an agonizingly long time -- a year and counting -- to get back to that mean.
[4 Points] HOMEP1:
There was an article about how a ton of BTC has to be sold off daily just to pay for electricity for mining.

What happened is /u/TheEconomist1 decided that due to the shit he's read about Coinbase, that he was going to buy Bitcoin more often and just kind of stockpile on other wallets to separate buying bitcoin and buying shit. Once he decided to do this and act on it, the price plummeted. And then /u/TheEconomist1 saw it had plummeted and decided to buy more to bring down his dollar cost average. Then it went down more. If it goes down again, its b/c I bought more.

I dunno what's happening except bitcoin sucking. That I know. It was so fucking awesome having or buying bitcoin during late 2013. Most of the time you were making money and a lot of DNM purchases ended up being free esentially because bitcoin was going through the roof. But all of 2014 and now starting 2015 and probably all this year too bitcoin is just on the decline. I can't tell you the last time I bought bitcoin and gained anything extra for my DNM purchase. Half the time I've lost money by the time I'm ready to buy. Fucking hate it.

Poeple are realizing that the market cap of bitcoin (which at its peak was ~10 billion USD) doesn't make sense given how little it is used in real world transactions. Virtually nobody who owns bitcoin actually uses bitcoin to buy anything. The price went up initially due to speculation and slowly these people are giving up on the dream.
[2 Points] sullyrb:
id say its because of the crackdown on the dnm's and so people are scared to purchase or don't know where to purchase, hence lack of demand = fall in value. i planned to be a banker at one point so i sort of know what I'm talking about and have been in the bit coin game from day 1.

is it possible less bitcoin trading went on over Christmas pushing the demand/price down?
[1 Points] thecheat420:
Idk I just hope it either bounces back a bit or stops going down by the time my coinbase order comes in on Tuesday.

But why is Litecoin dropping as well?? :/
[1 Points] shitterplug:
It's sliding.

I hate Bitcoin, it is one of the reasons I quit vending on the DNM, what a pain in the ass.
