What is the dispute etiquette if package is lost/stolen?

First time I had an issue with an order. Package actually arrived but the contents were stolen with a tear in the packaging. I'm guessing either the delivery man or someone along the process could see inside the envelope.

In this case who's fault is it? Is it viable for dispute?

Honestly, who knows. dispute it and see. if it actually goes to dispute the mods will probably take the vendors side. how do they know you're not lying?

as others have mentioned, if this goes to a dispute then i dont see a way youre gonna win, contact the vendor and explain, 99.99% they wont assist you either but 0.01 is better than 0

The package did arrive to your drop. I don't feel like the vendor should take a loss because off something that happened after they processed and shipped your package. Also, in a dispute, you will likely lose.

There are so many buyers who try to scam, lie, extort, and defame vendors because they have shady agendas. I know we hear all the time about vendors scamming, but you have no idea what vendors have to put up with from dishonest buyers. I'm not saying you're lying, but the admins will side with the vendor.
