I was wondering if ordering a package to your house with people, who used to live there before, names on it wouldn't make you completely unattached to the package?
Let's say I live in a house which gets rented by different people every year. After they move out and I move in, I still continue to get some junk mail registered on them. So theoretically, I can order with their names and my address (which is absolutely normal) and in case of any suspicions I get nothing to lose and am completely irresponsible of what's been sent to previous inhabitants. This would obviously work if I had no traces to the order on my computer.
I'm sure I'm not the first one to think about this, though I couldn't find a proper explanation to this situation. What are your thoughts on such situation and are there any flaws in it?
Address forwarding doesn't apply to junk mail, IIRC. It's entirely possible that junk mail addressed to Joe X. Tenant would land in your mailbox while your DNM order would be forwarded to his new address. Joe might not be expecting an eight-ball of crystal meth. He might even call the police to let them know someone had mailed him contraband. And when/if an investigation starts one of the first lines of inquiry would be "is the new tenant receiving drugs under the previous tenant's name?"
At best, you're increasing the chance of never seeing your package. At worst you're increasing your chances of getting a knock-and-talk with the police. Don't do it.
