How can this subreddit legally exist?

I used to use the onion wiki to find markets and other things before this subreddit existed. But being on the clearnet, and on such a popular website, this shouldn't legal exist. Sure, you can say this is all hypothetical, but nobody is going to believe that in court. Not if you're caught and your Reddit account gets dug up. Reddit isn't like 4chan, it keeps every account that you create - even throw away accounts. Be as anonymous as you want, use TAILS, use whatever means you have; make the argument that all of this is hypothetical, but that won't hold up in court. The superlist and a simple search on one of the markets will out you.

i am afraid that a simple look at your google search history would be much worse than being a member of this sub.

[19 Points] DickMuke10:

Well none of this is illegal, it's just people writing posts. None of it can be used as legally binding admission of guilt, just because someone posts something doesn't mean it's true at all. If you're under an open investigation it can be added as evidence but by itself doesn't merit a whole lot. It's just a subreddit for the discussion of darknet markets, which is perfectly legal. You can discuss literally anything, thus free speech. Also looking up things like shemale porn and terrorist groups is also not illegal. It might get you flagged and put on a watch list but unless you're looking at illegal images like pedo stuff or are plotting to do something to get yourself conspiracy to commit etc..., to my knowledge, there's no laws being broken. Depending on what region of the world you're in obviously.

[10 Points] ForLol_Serious:

It exists because the feds run it. They lure people in hoping they order drugs so then they could mind control them with the Jesus drug.

[5 Points] agoraphobednm:

Make an account over tor, only access it over tor, use a vpn-->tor if you wanna go crazy. Read up on proper opsec dude.

Also, you think that what, I'm gonna make a thread asking about where to buy the best 8 ball of coke and the feds are gonna swoop in and spend time and resources to figure out who /u/agoraphobednm is in real life? You crazy yo

Also, people discussing a crime doesn't necessarily constitute evidence that a crime has been committed. I could text you asking how you liked that dub bag of weed I gave you, but without the weed, there's not really a case to be made against me.

It's definitely possible that people can blow their opsec on this sub, and if it's a vendor that does that, they could get busted. Just gotta be smart about it yo. It can seem like a lot at first but after a few years in the dnm game it's really not hard to keep good opsec as someone who buys in small amounts for personal use. I haven't been paranoid about LE or the super-scary CD threat since my first or second dnm purchase.

[2 Points] savingfluffybunnies:

We're not doing anything illegal is why it's allowed to exist, that's why sourcing rules are so strict.

So what if you get caught with your reddit account open? Unless they have collaborating evidence everything on here is useless.

[2 Points] STFUMandy:

There have been other public forums that were used to facilitate this type of activity in the past that have in fact been shut down. Maybe they'll get around to shutting this one down one of these days, but until then I'm not going to let that interfere with my desire to live vicariously through the role of a made up drug user. And if your actually going on any of these sketchy ass online markets to buy drugs then I don't know what to say to you. Besides I heard sometimes they don't even send you real drugs just stuff like beach sand. Good luck with that.

[2 Points] AlpraCream:

It's actually a pretty good resource for the feds to gather intel on various trends associated with the markets, I don't think they would want this place shut down.

I thought we were just roleplaying

[2 Points] Bruhbruh343:

This is just a role play subreddit. This is all just for imaginary fun.

[1 Points] gangsterdam020:

How would they know that every account is you? Unless you doing it from your home isp.

[1 Points] kookieless:

Is "The Onion Wiki" the same as "The Hidden Wiki", or is it a wiki of archived articles from The Onion. The Hidden Wiki had alaways been shitty imo., and fairly perverted.

While many subreddits such as the original Barons and XanaxCartel got taken down, this one didn't. The reason is very obvious.

This subreddit is ran by feds, and this is a honey pot.

[1 Points] ThePrinceOfFrance:

Because America.

[1 Points] CrepitationPorn:

Because reddit's home country isn't a police state. Reddit can do as they will since of course it's their servers, but the government can't legally shut down political dissent forums that don't advocate violence in a liberal democracy.

[1 Points] Supersizetrichomes:

Talking about crime isn't illegal, yet.

[1 Points] throwahooawayyfoe:

Because all of what we do here is simply talk, and talking isn't illegal (well, in most of the world anyway). Sourcing, advertising, and direct dealing all cross the line, but that's why those things aren't allowed here. Anything else: "Man, I just got some of the best blow," debating topics regarding netsec and physical security, discussing harm-reduction techniques, general bullshitting, etc... all that stuff is perfectly legal and in fact encouraged by the admins of Reddit because we bring so much controversy and traffic to their humble little corner of the internet.

1st amendment hoeeee

[1 Points] exmachinalibertas:

Don't you know man, this is all fake news. Nothing is real.

[1 Points] nugymmer:

They can't really do much because it would have to be classed as a thought crime. Thought crimes are perfectly legal, it's the actual crimes that are illegal...not sure if this would be possible in Australia but I guess with their nanny state lunatics running the show, maybe not.

[1 Points] trippyman430:

I thought this was a roleplay

[1 Points] Albert_sand419:

If they can't prove you bought anything they have no case. Thry can think you did it all they want.
