Ethereum Withdrawal Delays on AlphaBay

The Grand Wizard is still trying to transfer the proceeds of his first Ethereum sale from AlphaBay. We even sent some extra funds to our account to get above the minimum payment amount. After going on 48 hours, our transaction is still "Processing." (It was marked as "finalized" at one point but no funds showed up in our wallet: Support fixed that quickly, for which we are grateful).

Apparently AlphaBay has set up an "obfuscator" to hide the origins of Ethereum transactions coming from their site. We appreciate their efforts at security, but if AlphaBay Forums are any indication this has also resulted in some very delayed transactions. One of Ethereum's main selling points is that you can send and receive funds more quickly than with Bitcoin: take that away and there is little reason to use Ethereum. We are no longer taking Ethereum or Monero on AlphaBay until they get this sorted out. While we appreciate their willingness to branch out into altcoins, we would urge them to work on their implementation.

And of course the mods are going to sticky this to take the chance to bash AB at the first opportunity. Anyway we never took funds from anyone, if there are any issue we'll be glad to look into it.

The Ethereum has landed in our wallet, thanks!

We would recommend getting rid of the obfuscator or whatever is causing the transaction delays. There are multiple reports on AB forums of people having Ethereum issues and while the Grand Wizard appreciates that incorporating new cybercoins into shopping carts is no easy matter, a rocky start will only slow the ultimate adoption of these coins on your site.

Why are you not accepting Monero because of a problem with Ethereum? There is no mixer and no BTC backlog with Monero.

Ethereum faster?

Yes ethereum blocks are faster but you need to wait for more of them to get the same security as bitcoin. The Poloniex altcoin exchange waits for 120 confirmations(!) before crediting you your ethereum.

I still think Ethereum is a scam but knock yourself out if you want to accept it.

I wouldn't give up so fast, just saying! Especially on Monero since he did nothing wrong... at least not yet. Hasn't this been going on since they implemented Ethereum?

I tried to do an ETH withdrawal and it just got kicked back to escrow after a few hours.

Trying again now, hope the issue is resolved otherwise disabling ETH until further notice.

take that away and there is little reason for me to use Ethereum

FIFY. There's more to life than drugs, isn't there?
