Does mail ever come twice in one day???

Had a pack that was due to be delivered today. Mail came super early, all envelopes no priority boxes at all. Called post office and the clerk was just super vague saying "There may be another mail truck delivering parcels" so I think he was saying there's someone delivering envelopes and someone delivering packages? Maybe I misunderstood the meaning of this? Are "parcels" different from regular envelope mail. I'm waiting on a physical tracking number from the vendor but he told me last night he verified the tracking and it would be delivered today and this vendor has never let me down on a delivery date.

Yes it does sometimes. but I don't think you should be wasting too much energy trying to find out (calling the office, etc.) if it's priority it will come in due time

As others have said, yes it's not unusual for parcels to be delivered separately from first class. I know that at my local post office they get a truck at about 10am that contains priority & express mail. That gets sorted quickly and sent out with people that are only delivering that stuff. Express has a money back guarantee, so they will usually concentrate on those packs, and then work on the regular priority.

It is possible during holidays, USPS hire more people for this period.

I once had 3 priority mail packages come in 3 separate deliveries on the same day. This was during Thanksgiving I believe.

yes, in my country on two days of the week, we get morning and evening mail. Sometimes I get my packs during both intervals.

I had 2 mail trucks in front of my house last week parked for 20 minutes. Besides chit chatting the non regular truck was adding packages to my normal carrier. I guess someone was quicker at the deliveries and caught up.

Holiday times they have people just for packages
