i have some (not much) btc in a coinbase wallet, but i heard that they shut down accounts that send money to deepweb vendors, not sure how this is possible but i want to be safe. Is there a better wallet i should transfer too before i start?

Electrum on Tails is a very smart option. It comes with many wallet addresses to receive to and send from. It also cycles through different addys for different actions.

Personally I just use blockchain.

I personally use the phone app called Breadwallet. Its really simple, I like it because its open source and the interface is really simple. I don't use a tumbler myself.

Easy, bitblender.

I used to use tumblers until that one time bitblender took so much of a fee I didn't have enough to place the order so I had to transfer more coins now I just go from the source, to wallet b, to electrum, to market. Maybe if I ever place a pricey order I'll user a tumbler but never for small personal orders ever again.

Sent directly from coinbase to Hansa the other day on accident and I'm fine. But I usually use circle->coinbase->helix->market

As mentioned in another, Electrum via tails is a great wallet. Personally though, I wouldn't recommend transferring your coins straight from Coinbase/Circle to Electrum (or any wallet in that case) and then to a DNM.
You can read more about this on the starters guide in r/darknetmaketsnoobs , but for the sake of OPSEC, I myself do the following when purchasing btc: Wallet A (Coinbase/Circle) -> Wallet B (your choice of a standard btc wallet) -> Tumbler (BitBlender, Helix, etc) -> Electrum -> DNM. After you made your purchase, withdraw any leftover coins back to Electrum, where they'll sit pretty securely for whenever you need them again.
Might be some overkill, but I have always preferred this method, and know many others who do as well.
