Was told this by the teller today when depositing to my normal LBC seller. No time frame was mentioned, IIRC she said "from now on".
I guess we can add BoA to Chase on the list of banks to be avoided by those seeking to use LBC anonymously.
[Cryptocurrency] LBC buyers: BoA will soon require ID for cash deposits

Mycellium local trader.
Or just use your ID and tumble the coins you get. problem solved.
[1 Points] TrapMusicHF:
Does it really madder if you just tumble the coins anyway?

Use a different bank then... There's a few that require nothing.

Yes BOA and Chase require a ID for personal account deposits now but if its a business account like many of the LBTC sellers are you shouldn't have a problem.
PS... get a fake id and steal a name and address and use money gram.... best prices for coin around...

had to get a manager approval for a cash deposit at wells fargo a week ago, very very strange

I got asked for ID making a BOA deposit last week. I found it odd but went through with it anyway. Why not just create a number of LBC accounts and trade among them after your coins are released to distance the coin from the transaction with your ID?

This happened to me too. He said they will enact this policy in July

Chase does this already. Can't deposit cash without an ID and can't deposit cash in an account that isn't yours.
[1 Points] jerzze18:
BoA stores the Id for their purpose and doesnt give it to the person your sending cash to.
its still an anonymous way as long as you tell the teller your depositing for something else

Its not illegal to buy bitcoin. That kind of sucks for you americans though.
I think every market user should automatically be a vendor - but in one product category only - cash in the post.
Create a listing for an item called "one hundred dollars cash, tracked mail". Somebody with bitcoin orders it using bitcoin in escrow. When his $100 arrives and he signs for it, he releases the escrow.
Silk Road and MTGOX were sister sites that needed each other, like a heart and lungs. Why not have the lungs built-in to the marketplace? So the bitcoin never really has to leave?
The moment bitcoin leaves the sanctuary of a darknet marketplace, banks and the government start taking an interest in it. Get the exchange inside the marketplace, and get the bitcoin traders in the market.
Use LibertyX if available. I go into my local wireless store, pay with cash, no ID required. I'm out of there in 10 minutes and your BTC are transferred immediately to a wallet of your choosing.
