MBB stands for moisture barrier bag. They're made out of mylar.

They're the same material. Most people associate Mylar with thin Helium balloons, so MBB is just another way to market thicker Mylar products without people instantly thinking "that shit's really thin".

It's essentially just a plastic material with a layer of metal deposited on it in such a way as to completely coat the surface and prevent any movement of molecules through the microscopic gaps in the plastic.
