Who is behind the DDoS attack?

Who do you think is behind the ongoing DDoS attack?

Let's make assumptions. Here are the options:

3 possibilities and one impossibility.

The impossibility is the DEA or any sort of LEO agency. Think logically about it for a minute; a DDOS attack requires a vast, expansive network and bandwidth. This is why people & companies don't build their own; it's expensive as fuck. So you sort of do a distributed computing version, which means sending viruses to people's computers to control them aka botnet.

DEA or any LEO agency wold have to do it legally. So they'd have to buy their own networks. No agency is going to drop that kind of money just to inconvience darknet markets for a few weeks/months. These agencies have annual budgets and quotas. No way anyone approves a massive DDOS network, and anyone that did, would be immediately fired.

It also works against them; they need the market active and up so they can run their operations. Having to put them on hold until the DDOS attack clears up sucks for them, they're trying to meet deadlines themselves. And imagine the DEA running a DDOS attack on dream, while the FBI or Interpol is trying to run an operation? These law enforcement agencies do communicate with one another, but they're not all of the same mind and on the same page. They all have different goals and agendas, and reasons for doing things.

So anyways, it's either phishers, a disgruntled kid or vendor who got scammed and has decided to take out his retarded revenge ("if I can't buy drugs then no one will!"), or a rival market.

I think the latter is actually just as likely as phishers. If people can't use one market, they immediately flock to the next best one. It's happened time and time again. If you're going to be slick about it, you'd also DDOS yourself temporarily to not make it look so obvious.

I do think it's phishers though, but I wouldn't rule out a competing market either.

Edit: If people weren't so god awful stupid, this wouldn't even be a thing. But people are stupid and it's profitable to phish because idiots fall victim to it every day. Except the idiots don't believe themselves to be idiots. They think they just got unlucky or lost concentration for a minute -- nothing is ever their fault. "It could happen to anyone!" no, it couldn't you buffoons. When you're on the darknet, your guard is supposed to be extra high, extra alert. Being on the darknet is when you need to be the most careful since a fuckup could mean jailtime. If you've fallen victim to a phishing scam, that is without a doubt, proof positive you don't have what it takes to be here. There is no mistakes, no accidents. You failed the test.
