Late last week, Chinese police seized 1,180 guns and more than 6 million bullets after having discovered an online gun ring earlier this year which involved at least 18 (very well-armed) people.
During a random inspection back in April, police found a package which contained an assortment of gun components, and over the course of the next seven months, police uncovered an online gun selling operation which had been operating since 2012, and which operated using a U.S. server.
According to Xinhua, police estimate that since 2012, the gun ring made more than 4 million yuan ($625,537) in profit.

Probably darknet related, given that nobody sells guns out in the open.
$625,000 a year split between 18 people isn't that much money. Is ~$34,700 a year really worth that kind of risk?
