Silk Road 1.0 Seizure - 1 Year Anniversary!

Let's kumbay-fucking-ya this shit! October 2, 2013 was a day to remember.

Here's the thread that was ultimately stickied on /r/silkroad. One year later I can still read it end-to-end and get brain tingles.

http://www.reddit.com/r/SilkRoad/comments/1nl7p9/sr_shutdown_fallout_discussion/

So let's reminisce. What was going on with you on October 2, 2013? What was the most shocking and/or scary shit that you peeped that day?

And while we're at it, let's not forget that yes, of course, we're mostly all here for the drugs. But we're also here for a little bit of revolution and fucking freedom -- for winning it back. Big thanks to those who are in it to win it.

i guess this would be an appropriate time to mention the website www.freeross.org again. if anybody feels like tossing some left-over change into the defense fund pot, i'm sure ross and his family would be ever grateful. at this point, it may not be about getting him off and acquitted but rather helping to make his stay in prison more comfortable by contributing to his commissary account.

Ah you beat me to it you whore.

That was a sad day. But whenever I think about that I like to take a look at our side bar.

The feds may have killed tSR, but we've only grown and gotten better. We have plenty more markets, more tumblers, better security and ways of protecting buyers and vendors, we have a fucking search engine.

This subreddit just recently surpassed /r/SilkRoad in growth and the number of subscribers. We have many more choices now than we ever had before.

So thank you DEA/FBI, you've given us a much better DarkNet. You've given us a much better way to safely acquire drugs. We should do this again sometime, just not too soon.

"Ah fuck, I had $100 worth of bitcoin in there that I'm never going to see again"

two months later

"Fuuuuuuuuck"

The day before I made an order for a rare chance of 10 ug laid tabs by Mahakala and was very excited. Next day I logged on to see if it shipped and I was mind blown when I loaded the login page. Thought it was some kind of sick joke but then saw it in the news... Never received those tabs :(

I was about to take my morning shower, reading through Reddit, Digg, and Twitter as if it were my morning paper per usual.

I had never saw so much talk about "DPR" and "SilkRoad" on mainstream sites. It took me about 30 seconds to realize what I was reading. My heart dropped immediately.

Where did the Bitcoins end up after they where auctioned off? Who bought them?

Is crazy looking back and seeing everybody thoughts on the situation. So many people were tearing Ross apart because of the murder for hire accusations. I remember that day vividly. Sad day indeed

[3 Points] WindowsPsycho:

I remember where I was when I heard the news... Tripping sack off some 2c-e I got off the road. It was pretty trippy trying to log on to SR to finalize and seeing the FBI warning.

[3 Points] thecheat420:

I had a $50 order waiting to be confirmed/shipped when SR1 got shut down. Never forget!

[3 Points] CaptainColeslaw:

Never ordered from SR but still found it fascinating enough that I bought bitcoins. I was eating Taco Bell when I saw the initial flash crash. Didn't panic.

I got home from work and checked /r/SilkRoad and realized that shit had hit the fan. I placed an order for benzos the night before it went down but it never came. Can't blame the vendor obviously, they might not have had time to even see my order. Damn it was crazy but luckily I had encrypted my address.

Thus began my love affair with etizolam. I also set up an account on SMP and had some successful orders there. Luckily I learned my lesson and when SMP took off I didn't lose anything and I became a mod here and set up accounts on BSM and Evo.

I remember pulling out all my bitcoins the day before. Damn I was glad I did.

It's funny cuz I'm sure the only other place where people are reminiscing about that day is the DEA headquarters.

[1 Points] kirkkommander:

I was helping my friend, who was just getting started with Silkroad, choose different buyers for QPs. The day it happened I sent him a text "hey man check the news something went down".

Turns out we both got our last orders in, some RCs that are sold on the clearnet anyway :/
