Vendors asking people not to do Reddit reviews

Recently I've noticed some vendors specifically saying in their market profiles that people shouldn't write reviews of their products on this sub because they are worried about it bringing them LE attention. I haven't really seen that before, so maybe it's due to the recent increase in the audience for this sub. I'm respecting those vendors' wishes by not writing reviews for them here, but I was wondering what other people thought of this trend? Do you think more vendors will start asking people to avoid writing stuff about them on this sub? If that starts happening and it snowballs then this sub could become much less useful.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Some vendors want to stay small time and manage the customer base they already have without worry.

I think we need to stop posting shit like "stealth is soo good, you guys don't even know. Fuck the cops they'll never figure it out" that how I felt kacikz must've felt. When everyone kept hyping him up

As if LE doesn't know how to navigate to a DNM and get a list of vendors and products for sale right there.

[6 Points] wolfmans_cousin:

They probably just want to serve the customer base they have. If I sold drugs online I wouldn't want to be a clear net Reddit pseudo-celebrity. Look at all the people this sub has obsessed over (just to name a few) quantik, tguk, blueviking, houseofspirit, pelican, GammaGoblin, Reximus, etc.

[3 Points] Theeconomist1:

I think it's for several reasons. Obviously bringing LE attention is one. Another could be to keep their biz smaller. Maybe they feel that Reddit also brings shills and such and they don't want to invoke themselves in that.

LE is here. There was that vendor recently busted (damn forget his name, but he trademarked his Vendor name lol) and the report specifically mentioned Reddit reviews and such.

Does it offer protection? I dunno. Maybe a little. LE can get on the market's too and find vendors. But less exposure is probably a bit safer.

[2 Points] SickleInThePickle:

There is a prominent domestic (US) RC vendor who will ban customers from his members-only site for name-dropping him on the RC subreddits. He may have eased up on that restriction, but I can't blame someone for wanting to fly beneath the radar.

[2 Points] Dr-Robalob:

Personally i'd be happy to maintain a small but consistent customer base, dealing with the same people on regular intervals. Makes life easier for everyone, and less opsec worries.

Probably because the people in this sub are unprofessional and willl hurt their business.

[1 Points] Lucid_Enemy:

Or there selective scamming and don't want the Reddit community to find out

[1 Points] 2CandyVendor:

We've done the whole small sized word out mouth, no clearnet operation for awhile to stay under the radar but we have 100% confidence we run a tight enough operation to start making a public(ish) name for ourselves too. For huge vendors though I feel like the extra publicity from Reddit isn't even needed though - dem coppers are already scanning for their brown chakras.

[1 Points] None:

I always ask a vendor before posting a review just out of respect for the situation they are in, I totally get it.

[1 Points] Phineas-J-Whoopee:

The smartest, most professional OPSEC minded vendors want the least to do with the circus of Reddit and it's "reviews" ... for obvious reasons.

[1 Points] maxturbator:

Some vendors fucking love the attention. Some don't. If you like the vendor, do as they ask. Pretty simple.

[1 Points] billy5x5:

They don't want to deal with reddit twerps

[1 Points] DruggieKitten:

If only i could get more people to do reddit reviews!

[1 Points] DctrJewish:

If I were a vendor I wouldn't want a presence here

[0 Points] None:

This sub shouldn't even exist and it's fucking stupid that it does.

shrug

[-1 Points] None:

on one hand, fuck em, on the other respect them.

[-3 Points] CynicalElephant:

Yeah, hell no. Any vendor I buy from is getting a review here. That just seems like a way to avoid a bad review getting to the people it would actually matter to. Market reviews dont matter at all, I judge whose a good vendor almost entirely off of reviews on this sub.
