turning $6k into bitcoin

how do i do this without getting bankers attention?

EDIT: I found someone on localbitcoins willing to meet in person to send me bitcoin then I give him cash. He has 100% positive feedback with 150+ transactions. So I guess that's how I'll get em. Thank you all for your responses.

localbitcoins cash deposit to a variety of local banks from a variety of sellers (or in person, if there is anyone selling near you).

depositing 6k into someone else's bank account will likely get a SAR filed.

you should be fine, if its your own account - if you deposit 1k cash multiple times that would likely warrant more suspicion than one 6k deposit. If your bank account is always low this may look a bit odd, but just don't make it a big deal. its not illegal to buy bitcoins, and you aren't really at any thresholds for mandatory reporting.

Walk in, deposit cash, buy bitcoins, tumble/whatever spend bitcoins.

Less than $1000 at a time unless you just sold a car or boat.

Never thought about that much. Like someone else said, if you're using localbitcoins just deposit like 1k at a time at different banks until you're finished. Probably the safest way you could do it. I'm kind of curious as to how they'd file a SAR report.. They'd have to file it on the account being deposited into wouldn't they? Because all of the banks I've been to don't require you to write your name or even have an account at that bank

Greendot moneypak or vanilla reload cards. Way cheaper than LBC.

Find someone with a good trust rating on bitcointalk arrange the deal buy the cards use an escrow service

Now, maybe I'm just half remembering plot lines from the Sopranos, but I thought the bank only had to look into a deposit once it's over ten thousand dollars.
