Hey,
I am just as interested in these marketplaces as the next user. We who believe in the right to do this over the right of unjust laws to infringe must remain critical of these operations as opposing authorities are more than on to what is happening here. I believe this particular subreddit could be a great source of much misinformation (just take a look at how much of a shitshow of idiots /fakeid/ is.
I found a good discussion on this on 420chan:
...someone talking about obtaining opiates in a country in asia...
">And forget shipping, I am not getting busted for shipping in some even RCs Typical Marketplace user/seller Ideology Which is where DNM comes in. If you buy using cryptocurrency, the police cannot prove that you were the one to place the order. This means that they can't do shit to you. If they intercept a package, they might show up at your place or send you a letter. The only thing you have to do is deny everything and you'll get off without a scratch. It's not illegal to receive illegal shit in the mail - it's only illegal to order it.
DNM is actually safer than street copping. If you play your cards right there is literally no way to get busted."
Response "This is horribly wrong information. Cops aren't that stupid. And neither are judges. If it has your name on it and there's drugs in the package. They can definitely press charges. I know this because a friend is in jail for ordering drugs in the mail. He denied everything and never opened the package.
Should probably mention that the Silk Road brought about change in some laws in some states so that ignorance is no longer a viable alibi. However the good news is that ordering domestically through usps it's very unlikely you'll get caught, but depending on where you live denying you ordered it is not going to save your ass.
You might be ok if you clean house entirely knowing you might get picked up but the police are pretty quick and quiet about busting a drug package these days. It'll arive on time and look untampered with. If they search and find ANY drug paraphanelia they will pretty much know you are a drug user and that you very likely ordered it.
Just word of caution because this myth that denial is a safety net is WRONG
Another Poster's Response "Yeah this. I have a friend who copped a charge for importation of coke and H. They weren't large amounts either. He actually received the package too; customs opened it up, took an inventory and then sent it on. He had no idea they were arranging a raid until months later when it happened and it didn't matter that the drugs were long gone in this case."
Yeah this too. *They'll raid the fuck out of you months after the fact, or let the package through and watch your mail for a while. Every time a suspicious package comes through with your name on it they'll log it and let it through, then in 2-3 months when they read through the list of every drug package you received you can't exactly plead ignorance or that you have no idea why drugs just keep getting sent to you with your name on it. *
It's completely legal for them to do it, before you claim "oh cops can't just let you get your drugs", not true at all.
Remember how the first Silk Road got busted? They had a clamp on Nod months before the bust, and he was allowed to keep mailing drugs even though the cops already were on him, so that no one would get scared or suspicious. All the while taking names of every buyer he sold to. Not every buyer got hit, but it's common knowledge that a good number of Nod's customers were raided and charged with a disgusting number of crimes, including but not limited to: conspiracy, public safety hazards, using a public service to commit crimes, possession, intent to sell (if you order more than a small amount, intent to sell is charged almost on anyone who buys more than like one dose of anything). (By small I mean like .25g), and a number of other things.
It's a roll of the dice. If you get caught you're WAY worse off than buying off the street. Far from safe by any means
And in closing
"Exactly. As the cat and mouse game of prohibition changes with modern technology, Cops change the rules to keep up. I never would've thought in a 100 years they'd ALLOW drugs through to me. What amazed me was how well they resealed the packages. Anyone who's gotten coke or h or any powder in small amounts from a darknet vendor knows the security they go through. I know there's this idea that we shouldn't take about packaging techniques to keep cops on their toes but cops order from vendors themselves to find out. First they'd stick it in a ziplock bag, then vac seal it, then it went inside a business card and was laminated. On the outside it just looked like a laminated business card, white on the front and back. Came with a letter from a company offering business. NO IDEA how in hell they reproduced that and did it in a timely fashion where as I didn't suspect the package being late. They literally would've had to do the whole thing in a day or so. Because there was no time difference in the packages that were opened and the ones that weren't. The funniest thing: The ones that never got noticed were pills. Often up to 50 of them. No fancy packaging. Just stuck in a ziplock, covered in bubble wrap and in an envelope. They never were found. I ended up getting fucked HARD on that whole case. Manufacturing of A class, importing A class x 4, importing C class x 1, Firearms possession, Possession of drug utensils. A funny bit is that the charge was written up as Cannabis utensil: Syringe. Like a cannabis syringe? I posted a picture of the papers here when I got the charge.
That's me. Happened to another friend. He knows who he is and can talk about it if he likes. It seemed fucking impossible to me that cops could allow the drugs through. What if I'd shared them with the prime ministers kid and she OD'd or something? Truly bizarre. In my case I was ordering quite a bit for a while and they actually didn't catch every package. I'd say they got about 60%. It's irrelevant now and I can talk about it. Case is over and my time is served. But yeah, the worrying thing is I wonder how long they would've let it go on? I actually stopped of my own accord and they raided me a few months after the last package (that worked in my favour, I was literally trying to stop) but I wonder how long they would've kept it going.
Another guy I knew, in the early early days of RCs, back when no one knew wtf 2c-b and the likes were except drug nerds and erowid users we had a guy importing mdpv, mephedrone, ketamine and more through places like alibaba ( i feel it's safe to say that now cos Alibaba has cleaned up, can't get shit there anymore) anyway, they were letting him get kgs of ketamine through. Just fucking tons for well over a year. He was literally importing a kg at a time of ketamine, breaking them into packages of ozs and on-selling them to dealers. The mdpv was in similarly large amounts, hundreds of grams. Then one day when they felt like they had enough they came and raided him. The crazy bastard even did one final big order while on bail to get some cash to salt away. If you used ketamine in New Zealand around that time, chances are it came from him. he ended up getting some heavy time, poor bugger.
Pic related: A dumbass - I was a dumbass. It didn't matter that they couldn't prove HOW I got them. They seized my pc, laptop and every drive in my house. Couldn't prove or explain how or where I got the drugs and it didn't matter. Cos they had evidence that the drugs were coming. Ironically in their search for drives, they were thorough. Looked like a cyclone hit my room, although in their searching they missed just one. A 500gb external that I had temporarily plugged into my ps3 to watch shows on. That had the tor browser on it.
Not that it mattered. Anyone who's been charged in something big knows they basically go for character assassination in court. You have a hat with a pot leaf on it from when you were twelve somewhere packed in a box you never knew you had, it goes on the stand as character evidence. Ziplock bags? evidence. The monitored mail are the nails in your coffin. The shit they find in your house to make you out to look like a drug user to the jury (if you're crazy enough to fight the charge) are just gravy"
Anyway, I am outta here. Plenty more to do with life than these repetitive discussions. Obviously these marketplaces are run for the cash, and the DPR of yesterday is somewhere in hiding. If we all stood up together there could be real change in policy happening. Never lose hope that we can live in a world where people aren't locked up.
Hope this helps someone.
