How to kill the CISA bill NOW

http://gizmodo.com/these-senators-voted-yes-on-cisa-but-theres-still-ti-1739169315

Let's kill this thing like we did SOPA. Contact your local senator if he's one that voted for this to pass. Even if you think this doesn't effect the darknet, this bill needs killed regardless.

Tips:Do not come off like a belligerent, crazy person. Let it be known that you're upset, and WHY you're upset. Once you've (thoroughly) made it known, good job. If you STILL want to do something, get the word out! Tell a friend to do the same thing. The more people that voice their opinion, the better.

How to contact your local congressman:http://www.contactingthecongress.org/

If we don't let our senators know we won't stand for this shit, it's on us for letting it happen. We have net neutrality (in America), let's not ruin it with more of this nonsense now.

EDIT:This has been posted in a bigger subreddit with some even better tools to help.

They posted you can tweet your senator about this! Ha. https://www.decidethefuture.org/

And here's a phone number they provided that you can call, where they'll connect you:1-985-222-CISA

This. Do not be too lazy to keep your freedoms.

First they delete everything about the tpp off the defaults, then we get a whole new voting algorithm that's shit at bringing really important news to the top.

This has been a calculated maneuver. They know what they're doing and they know how dangerous Reddit can be to private interest groups when we use it to organize.

Of course, Someone else has posted this in a more populated subreddit. I should have known. AND he did a much better job. Editing in some links/tools they posted for you guys.

"Clearnet is dead" - Nietzspooky

All hail the new Internet, Darknet, for this is the end. We must rebuild and create Internet 2.0 that is not regulated by the government and is unable to be regulated.

Troll aside, TOR is the closest thing we have to net neutrality right now and even that is regulated and it has flaws. I wonder if there's a genuine way to make things impossible to monitor and regulate. Governments don't have any right to infiltrate the Internet, in my opinion.

What the hell is CISA?

I can't find anything about on /r/nostupidquestions. Can someone give me an ELI5?

I will never browse without a VPN again. Fuck the gov. Everyone do the same.

Call in and ask them to fill out a Constituent Opinion form. A lot of the time they use a google spreadsheet to track the nature of these calls, and where they're coming in from. If enough people call in about the same issue then the Congressman will actually look at it.
