Love Letter - how to proceed?

I am leaving this all as vague as possible for obvious reasons.

I received a domestic love letter that appears legit, and is somewhat corroborated both by the vendor's forewarning of the situation, and by his offer to refund. It was for a personal amount of bud, in a legal state. I did not know the vendor was shipping from this state and if I did, I would've stayed away. Seems like there's increasing scrutiny in these states for obvious reasons.

To a certain degree I'm glad I got it because it sure beats a CD and now I don't have to walk around thinking I'm going to get one, because the last several days sure sucked.

My questions now are twofold:

1) Is my address burned? I know this question is subjective and most of you will have a guess, not an answer. But if anyone has received something similar and made subsequent orders without a hitch, this would be some good info to have.

2) Is it worth calling the listed number and playing dumb? The letter reads "If you do not understand the reason this letter is being sent to you, please call the above listed number immediately." My gut tells me to steer clear but I would be willing to listen if anybody has some good advice to the contrary.

Thanks and stay safe.

You should upload a pic of it

The vendor he's talking about is Zoolander. He let his customers know that his packages had been profiled and that multiple customers have reported seizures of packages.

Don't call and don't worry. I got one in 2013 and have been ordering since. Was it from Colorado?

I got a UK love letter. The link is below.

I have considered my address burned for international orders. Anything domestic has come through fine.

My LL

Has there even been confirmed domestic love letter? The most all seem to be scams.

I'm really glad I didn't have to deal with that. Lucky enough to have ordered from Zoo before finding out he's CO based. Hope everything is resolved for you guys, must be stressful.

Colorado seems to have stepped up their game as far as profiling/intercepting even small packages. Enough so disuade me from anything but the smallest, "non-conventional" forms of MJ (i.e. a vape cartridge or two at a time).

As for the letter, assuming it's real, take a pic or two for any possible disputes with the vendor and then just throw it away. DO NOT contact the agency that sent it. Just throw it away, do not respond. In 30 days your product will be destroyed.

As for the address, I would avoid using it for packages coming from the state of origin, and maybe avoid any larger orders for a month or so, but then proceed as if nothing happened (I personally wouldn't order from that State again). But no, the anecdotal evidence I have heard over the years is that there is no central database for domestic or international customs or inspectors that would render the address "burned". It's usually just a matter of time before you receive your first LL if you consistently order, especially from known supplier countries such as prominent Indian pharmicies.

Consider it a rite of passage and move on. I know it is nervewracking, but I know a guy that no kidding has received no fewer than 7 love letters for packages from India and one time Colorado over the years and nothing has happened other than the receiving of said letter. He followed my advice, threw the letter away, and played it cool for a month or two. I should note that for these 7 letters he received he has received 100's of packages (including some from the same vendors, to the same address) over the decade, both before and after the receipt of the letters. Stay safe and good luck!

edit: you are right, it is much better than a CD. Right now they clearly don't have the evidence or resources for a CD in relation to this order. Don't contact them and "play dumb" as who knows what such a contact would result in. Perhaps it would be enough to secure a warrant and they obviously won't be performing a CD for this parcel, as they have alrerady sent you a love letter. Lay low for a bit and move on. Assuming it wasn't a huge amount or holding serious weight I wouldn't even bother to clean house.

buy a decoy pack from someone and see what happens. if it comes through intact and on time, you're most likely good. if it takes unusually long or if it shows up looking like it's been sliced open, you should probably lay low for a while.
