2FA bypassed on AB

I logged into my account on AB today and after entering my password and completing the captcha I was giving a message saying:

"Warning problematic / incompatible public key. Please edit your profile and change your public key. Your login code is: xxxxxxxxxxxxx". Using the code I simply logged into my account without decrypting anything.

The problem is I haven't changed anything in my account and 2FA was previously working. I logged out and tried again and it was working normally.

Has anyone else encountered this? Could this leave my account vulnerable?

I do get this on rare occasion. Also, AlphaBay would not accept several of my public keys that I've used elsewhere no problem in the past, basically giving me this warning with each when trying to set it up. I had to try a couple different softwares for creating public keys before I got it to work.

I few other people have reported this. It doesn't seem to affect anything but I haven't heard an official explanation yet.

Just had this happen as well, was given a login code and didn't have to decrypt anything. Logged out and back in and my 2FA worked as normal. I've had the same public key on AB since Abraxas exited.

As I'm currently locked out of my AB account (long story involving a key pair that was backed up but lost due to a drive failure on my NAS), I'm curious how it'd be possible to force this behaviour.

Scouring my drives for the mnemonic to my account in the last ditch hope I can recover my account.

I got this before Xmas a couple of times, I never bothered to use the temporary code and went to an alternate URL which worked just fine.

Same thing happened to me but I used the code they gave to get in and didnt use and alternative link. Any update on this for u OP? Has it happened to you since and did you end up changing your public key or keeping the same one?

This just happened to me now... I restarted the browser and now got 'Flood limit, wait 10 seconds. This is strike 0' . Cannot log-in for more than an hour, huh. This never happened to me before, PGP key set to NEVER expire, me using Linux.

Thats because the whole phishing excuse is bullshit. There is no such thing as people getting phished. I lost $200 to AB and I wasnt phished. AB took it. It should be fucking obvious as fuck to anyone with half a brain, ALPHABAY IS TAKING YOUR MONEY!!!!!! WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!!

QUIT USING ALPHABAY!!!!!!!! ALPHABAY IS THE SCAM!!!

Then they have their spin dept come on reddit repeating over and over that you must have been phished, not alphabays fault, and you sit there wondering, was I phished, i swear the link matched what I saw on the superlist... if you are confused, this would be normal, but you are correct in that the link was correct everytime and you still got 'phished.'

Come on, dont be so thick. You can your coins stolen by the one and only Alphabay!!!!
