Controlled delivery on an apartment complex

I live in a bi-level apartment. Two separately leased units. Lets say a pack addressed to the bottom unit was compromised and LE wanted to perform a Controlled delivery. Would they be able to get a search warrant for Both units or just the bottom one?

search warrants are VERY specific. Not only the location to be searched, but what they are looking for.

If the pack is addressed to one of the units and the other unit is a separate address owned by a different person, and they have no reason to believe that the two people are in cahoots with eachother, then there is no way the police can search both units.

especially if the warrant is for only one of the units, then any search on the 2nd unit will be an illegal search

Confused what you mean by bi level apartment lol It's all the same residence tho, correct? If it is all the same residence, they just need one. For the residence.

OR do you mean, a big house, that is split off into 2 apartments, and leased to 2 totally different peoples. Then no, they would only have a right to get warrants where the pack landed, because that's not your residence and you have nothing to do with it, although if you did and they somehow knew from a inside tip, or from you querying the tracking from your apartments internet lol.

SOmething like that.

I would think it would depend on if the property is legally separated into two different parcels when it comes to 'real property' data. If it is in fact a duplex with two different deeds then of course they cannot search both with only a warrant for one. BUT, if this is some sort of situation where its considered an 'in law suite' or the landlord rents the two floors separately... things could get fuzzy... Do you have two separate mailboxes?
