Decoys serve a function, but I think many ascribe the wrong function to decoys. Here's where they can be useful:

Decoys won't be useful if LE is there looking. They'll find it. I'd say more important than a decoy is it being sealed so that smell doesn't leak out. A visual barrier of some sort should also be employed just in case the pack busts opened. I'd rather have a pack with no decoy that has a visual barrier along with proper sealing and layers than a decoy without proper sealing.

Decoys do serve a function, but often its for nosy roommates or family members. Although I will say a decoy is very good for times where the mailman drops your mail at the wrong house. The above applies more to domestic orders. International orders have a different risk profile and more risk of being opened.

If the pack is being opened up, that usually means they already know what's in it. Auspost doesn't do this themselves AFAIK and a cop isn't going to see a toy car and think "oh, it's just a toy. Better stop the search here".

That said, it is probably a good idea to at least add something like a box to a satchel so it doesn't feel like nugs of weed.

I think a lot of vendors underestimate how much people value decoys. I personally would easily pay $10 more and have a little more incentive to purchase if I knew there would be a great decoy and overall stealth.

I feel safer with decoy. Ain't clicking that link though.
