USPS General Delivery?

Hi /r/dnm:

I have ordered off of the darknet a few times now. Both times, I shipped directly to my apartment. I will be leasing a room from my parents for the next few months however, and I do not feel comfortable getting even stealthy deliveries at their house. I am thinking about using USPS "general delivery" to receive my package. I have used this once before for legal purposes, and it all went smoothly. The clerk did make me enter my home address in order to get my packages, but I could easily put in a fake one. Has anyone ever done this with illigal darknet drugs before? I will only be ordering personal amounts. Will the average vendor allow this? Or will they ask to FE? Are there any OPSEC/safety things I should look out for? I really don't want to pay for a PO box or go through the time to look for a drop. thanks

EDIT: For those of you that don't know: General Delivery is a service offered by USPS where you can have the package shipped to the post office and then pick it up there. No PO box required. You just write "General Delivery" instead of the street Address.

See Here: https://www.usps.com/manage/forward-mail.htm and choose the "general delivery tab".

My original post may have been unclear about this.

My PO box (just paid it this week) cost me $35 for 6 months. Are you sure you'd rather draw attention to yourself when ordering darknet packages than pay a few bucks? If you have to engage the clerk every time you pick up a package they are going to remember you. You want to be invisible, like a ninja.

A PO box is a much better idea. They are inexpensive and much more secure.

My concern for General Delivery is it could get noticed. It is ideal for people who are between addresses for short periods of time, but if you get some mail to your physical address and only occasional packages sent to GD, I would worry that the carrier or someone would be curious about why you get some mail but not all of it. Additionally, you would have to know someone sent you a package sent that way, so you would have a hard time denying that you were aware of it (and presumably the contents.)

It isn't a very common method for people to get mail delivery at all. I can't see the benefit being worth the additional risk. Again, a PO box is more secure and you would have far less interaction when picking up your package.

Dont you have to show id to get a package this way?

Thanks for the replies guys. I looked and It turns out PO boxes are less than $30 for 3 months for the smallest sizes. Looks like that's the direction I will go in.

This is personal preference but I would not consider general delivery. I have nothing to back this up, but I feel like orders like that may get extra attention from usps employees. its just out of the ordinary.

get a po box i mean for 80 bucks you get 3 months of a largegst size po box at places like ups store or mailboxes etc.. you can get ups / normal mail, get a legit address, you have 24 hour pickup, email notifications when packages arrive.

theres no reason not to do it. it sure as hell is not more risky then what your considering.
