"I was a young Grateful Dead fan who mailed LSD to a friend who had become a police informant. In July, I will have spent more than half of my life behind bars and without clemency from President Obama, I will die here. I was just 23 years old when I was arrested.
My public defender never explained to me federal mandatory minimums, so I plead guilty (I wanted to take responsibility) but had no idea that I'd receive double life sentences without the possibility of parole. My dad was sentenced with me because one of the envelopes I mailed went to his house. He got 10 years but died in prison after 8.
It was 20 years before I was even given a way to listen to music in prison. Just a few years ago I got a chance to buy MP3s and listen to the Grateful Dead again. I am still at times really not believing that we can listen to the music we want to. The people coming into prison now have no idea what some of us endured with no music all these years.
I understand that I broke the law but I don't think I've done more wrong to society than has been done to me. My dad died in prison, how much blood do they feel they need?"
Timothy is asking President Obama to grant him clemency so he can have a second chance to be with his sister and be a member of society:

We are guilty of being the most pathetic humans on the planet when we stand by and go "least it wasn't me"". Cops shoot people in US with impunity, lock people away with inhuman sentences, use prisners as slave labour, legalize the most dangerous drugs yet jail those who choose others. People who fought (as in physically) for their rights wouldn't cross the street to piss on us if we were on fire.
People are dying from non-pharmacutical drugs and gov'ts solution is to restrict drugs even more. When are we going to wake the fuck up?
