Package too large for PO Box

I use a PO Box to pick up darknet deliveries, and have been doing so for some time now with no difficulties. However, there was a hitch in the most recent delivery: instead of finding a key to one of the post office lockers in my box, I found a note. Here's what it says:

"Please give this notice to a clerk during regular business hours. We are holding some of your mail for the reasons indicated below:

The article is too large for your box"

I don't think it's a love letter, since the seller specifically asked me if I could receive a package of this size in my PO Box; perhaps he's used to this sort of thing. Additionally, the post office checked the "the article is too large" checkbox rather than the "signature required" one. I'm thinking maybe all the lockers were full when the package arrived, but I would love some feedback from you guys. I don't want to do anything stupid.

Edit: Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I went and got the package yesterday without any problems. The strange thing is that it could have fit in any of those lockers. When I asked the clerk, she didn't know why I had to pick it up at the desk. Oh well. At least I didn't have to sign for it.

I'd get it. Nothing seems fishy about it. Cops aren't gonna stake out the post office 24/7 waiting for you to get it.

PO's will put your package in one of the larger community boxes and leave the key in your PO box, unless the package you are receiving is larger than one of those boxes (or on the off chance that all the boxes are full, not likely) then they will leave a card to come to the desk to receive it. If you are sure that your package is smaller than the large community boxes in any dimension then 100% this is a trap.

You should still go to the desk as any normal person would, if you see that the box is in fact small enough then you should reject it (unknown sender), this will give you plausible deniability.

Take a deep breath, walk your arse in there and ask about your damned parcel like it's full of bibles. Eye contact, smile. Walk out, enjoy your produce when you get home.

Because, if it is a sting, they aren't going to magically leave you alone if you don't pick it up. And, it probably isn't one.

tldr? if you are fucked, you are fucked if you go pick it up or not.

Pick it up. If they ask you to sign for it, don't and consider it a loss. It's probably exactly what it says...it was too large for your box.

sounds like that happened, but if they were to do a controlled delivery from a PO box they dont have many options on how they can, basically that being the only way. If its a large box with a good amount of drugs, i would be sweating it

Had similar, except it was from a shoddy Chinese RC vendor and 100g of AM2201. They literally used a saran wrap thickness bag in an envelope. Both of which had holes in. Powder was left on the counter and I could feel it between my hand and the envelope!

I walked out of the post office holding it with my heart and stomach in my throat thinking, which one of these people is going to step out and cuff me. If only, it was AM2201 when legal and would have prevented a horrible addiction, nevermind eh?

Be careful, maybe pay a hobo/crackhead/someone who couldn't ID you to grab it for you.

If they were going to get you they wouldn't do anything to arouse your suspicion.
