HANSA or DREAM will not be next big market, and here is why:

Alphabay was popular because it was easy to use, it was basically always up and had a huge user/vendor base. Let's consider the average Joe buyer for a moment (like myself). He just wants his weed and the occasional bag of blow without to many hassle involved. He has limited knowledge about the technicalities and is not really interested in learning more about it either. For the average joe, it's just about his weed and blow.

Markets like Agora and Alphabay always kept this in mind made it as easy as possible to trade. And with most people having only invested a small amount of money to buy a small amount of product this system was good enough, easy and if it all goes down you are only out a little amount of money, similar to having a dealer on the street delivering shitty product or cutting you short (money/product wise at least is what i am saying) - not the end of the world in most cases.

Now these high tech (HANSA) or low tech markets (Dream) have the potential to take spot one right? HANSA is still way too complicated and no average buyer will go through that and takes too much time for the average joe so it will never be the biggest market because most people are not willing to learn or unable too. They also closed registrations at the point most buyers dont know where to go, further diverting casual buyers. Dream on the other hand does not offer the same easy user experience Agora or Alphabay did and misses basic features and looks like a badly coded site.

So the first market that looks similar to Alphabay or Agora will take the crown. The average buyers don't wont to put up with either Dream or Hansa.

In the end, people just want to get high and most buyers don't care about FE, escrow multisig etc. As long as theres a pack a week in the mailbox all is good. And if it works 99 percent of the time and you lose once because of an exit scam, not exactly the end of the world in my humble opinion.

Not sure how hansa is complicated. Once you set up multi sig it's literally press buy and send coin to an address.

alphabay looked like shit too lol. dream is the exact same process that you're describing. hansa isnt even complicated it takes 2 minutes to set up multi sig. if thats what it takes to not get scammed and have my money in escrow then so be it.. i dont see myself ever using a centralized escrow market again

[10 Points] istoleyourribeyes:

Yeah I think hansa is the next big one.

[8 Points] ObviouslyShill:

Anyone who thinks Hansa is complicated needs to just stop and gtfo.

You can set up multisig in 5 minutes, if you don't understand you can spend an additional 10 minutes and read everything you need to know and more. If after those 15 minutes you are still lost, then this whole role play isn't for you.

Safety is education. So fucking educate yourself about the safest practices or stop while you still have your freedom.

I agree that the perceived difficulty in setting up multi sig for Hansa may deter some new/casual buyers but if you actually go through it the first time setup for multi sig is faster than the time spent waiting for your coin to transfer to the market and get all your confirmations.

That is what I love about Hansa. If you already have bitcoin in your personal wallet it takes about a minute to place an order. If you want to place an order on a market like Alphabay you need to transfer your coins to the market which could take anywhere from 5 minutes to days depending on how fast transactions are being confirmed. Then your coins hit the market wallet and maybe the value of bitcoin dropped so you no longer have enough coins. To avoid this you can transfer in a sufficient amount of extra coins but then once you have made your purchase you have to transfer them back out (and hope you have enough coin left over to meet the minimum withdrawal amount). Then there is the possibility that the market could go offline (even if just for a few hours) at some point during this whole process and then you're stuck waiting for it to come back before you can place the order or recover your coins.

Being able to pay for an order directly from my personal wallet in Tails is a huge convenience in the long run.

Setting up on Hansa requires a bit more effort than AB. But after that the benefits are so worth it. Cleaner looking site, multi sig, and admins who actually care about the quality of their website. You said "most buyers don't care about FE, escrow multisig etc. As long as theres a pack a week in the mailbox all is good. And if it works 99 percent of the time and you lose once because of an exit scam, not exactly the end of the world in my humble opinion." People who poured hundreds of dollars into AB and lost it do care about multi sig and FE. Hansa is just a safer option for those of us who do value our money,

[1 Points] IssuewithVendor:

HAHA hansa multi sig is so easy.... WTF if u cnt understand hansa. You should not even be allowed on the DNM's...

How old are u buddy. All it takes is a damn GUIDE!!. On hansa they have guides. And GOOGLE even.... jeez buddy

Now i read you think dream is difficult? wtf? you have to still be in high school or something....

[1 Points] still12:

setting up on hansa is more difficult for the vendor if anything. As the buyer, it's really easy. You only set up the multisig once and after that it's like any other market. click and go. But there will always be people that prefer traditional escrow, so markets like Dream will always have a place

[1 Points] youngdumbbroke:

Buzzfeed clickbait title.

[1 Points] Fugduhfacts:

Process of elimination?

[1 Points] topknotch89:

If u can't follow simple instructions on Hansa, get off the internet. This isn't towards OP just saying In general

[1 Points] buxtonwater3:

If you find HANSA complicated then I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you are officially a retard. I've used Hansa for a long time, haven't bothered to setup multi-sig because I'm that average joe who only cares about "weed and blow", so I keep my trust in Hansa's escrow. It's piss easy to use, setting up multi sig is complicated but its not even necessary.

The payment system in Hansa is a million times less complicated than Alphabay as it doesn't need a wallet balance just direct payment. If Hansa is too complicated then you're just a fucking idiot.

And OP your analogy has no logical bearing... you think an easy to use Alphabay-like market is gonna spring up and take the spot...? No dumbass. The top market is the market that everybody uses, now that AB is gone it will either be Hansa or Dream simply due to numbers and migration end of story.

Bitcoin and PGP aren't exactly user-friendly either, but the "average joe" has learned how to use them. Where there's a will there's a way.
