Make TAILS work on "problematic" USB drives?

According to this FAQ from TAILS, there are a number of "problematic" usb drives. It supposedly has something to do with the "live-media=removable boot parameter".

I happen to own one of these listed drives. Is there some way to fix this? I'll go out and buy another usb IF I have to, but I'd rather not. Thanks!

PS - I'm a new user and posted a help thread to /r/darknetmarketnoobs. If anyone feels like answering some of my questions (assuming its not done already) that would be awesome!/ here is a link. Thanks!

EDIT: I did some digging and I found this question on /r/tails. You can make these drives work by hitting TAB at the login, then manually deleting the line of code that says "live-media=removable". You have to do this every time. I am doing some testing but it seems to work so far with this fix.

The drivers are cheap enough, why risk loosing any info that you may save?
