[GeneralQuestions] Bunk Police Test Kit Q

I've acquired what I thought was MXE and put some drops on a sample of it from a Bunk Police Mandelin test kit.

Question - After 30 seconds does the compound always turn a jet black? Moreover, if it turns pretty quickly to a jet black is that an indication of anything? Bunk substance?

I'm getting nervous about what I have now. It appears to turn a turquoise green like color briefly (or green around the edges) and then go to solid black.

Another question: I have a lot of the substance so I put a somewhat large amount in the test tube. Would a larger amount impact the test results in a negative way, rendering the results invalid?

Any insight would be appreciated. How accurate are these bunk police tests for others? What's the best way for me to take a picture of the reaction to show you folks?

Thanks!! <3 this sub.

EcstasyData.org says an expected to be adulterated MXE sample's mandelin reaction was "green" & they have a picture of the mandelin result to "light green" in a different sample with a pic, to a weak "Red Brown" reaction in yet another sample. All of these samples were confirmed as MXE by GC/MS with no ("active") addulterants though they commented on that first submission I mentioned above that

"Erowid Note: Please note that the lab does not report simple fillers and only reports active chemicals."

My advice: Test it with some other reagents (like mecke, marquis, etc.) and compare to the results ED has for MXE if they have them (they used to not show pics of the reagent reactions, but they always do now so the more recent ones will even show pics of the color though they don't note how long they waited for it to change).

Also note, from this sample's submitter:

MXE in particular has very strange and inconsistent reactions with Mecke, in my experience. The reaction is very slow -- it needs to be observed for at least 10 minutes, if not 30 -- and is generally yellow with brown coronas usually developing slowly and then dissipating over time. Sometimes there are green spots that appear and then eventually disappear, too. I'm actually shocked that this sample did not have some cut, given those inconsistent green spots.

edit: you might email ecstasydata about how long they wait before they take the reagent reaction pics. I've found them to be quite responsive in the past. If you got a lot of product, you might want to pony up the cash to get ED to test your batch or I think energy control will do it for cheaper. I'm not real up on the state of testing stuff anymore. Wish I could help more.

Kudos for testing! More people need to do this.

I cant speak on the bunk police reagent, but dancesafe has MXE as green to black on the mandelin.

You're fine; MXE is very cheap in terms of weight, little to no reason to send you something else.
