Do you ever compare different vendors' listing of an item you want and you end up making your decision based purely on the fact that you had a nice exchange with the guy?

I mean it makes sense, you are more likely to trust someone you have had a positive experienve with. It is to be expected I would say.

This is why my customer service is ON POINT. many of my reviews say they love my quick and friendly comms. "New favorite vendor" etc etc.
Good, honest, friendly customer service is so underrated in this business!

Absolutely, I think building a good relationship with your vendor is key. I'll pay a little more up front for good customer service. I find in the long run it pays off

Simple business/marketing tactic, creating a more personal relationship with the customer. For example, IRL, you are more inclined to use the same barber you have used for the past 5 years, over someone else, because you have a more 'personal' relationship with him.
