[OPSEC/Computer] Am I fucked?

So obviously being a law abiding, upstanding, helps grannys cross roads type of citizen I haven't done anything unlawful as i know. But someone who was living away from there house for month or so has just moved back in. I may have been worked as a cleaner for this guy I may not have been, but this guy has accused me of doing the unthinkable, he visited me today and started ranting on and on, apparently someone has sent a suspicious package there in a name that vaguely may resemble mine, quite a few people did know he was away. He wants me to go to his house and tell him what the contents are, (I'm assuming he opened it which I'm sure is a crime in its own right) but as I am a drug encyclepdia and walking talking gc/ms machine, i could probably tell him what it was if i had a look at the package, i dont know for sure at this point. He's threatening to take it to the police if I dont visit him and identify it, stating that they have ways of proving it was me who set all this up (sure i like my anonymity and browse with tor every so often but that doesnt make me a criminal does it?) Seems like a catch 22 though, if i visit him he probably just wants me to give up that i know what it is, and try turn me in himself, he's got a pretty bad grudge against me.

So to sum up, guy receives package with a name similiar to mine, opens it, see's dodgy shit, wants me to admit i know what it is or he will take it to the police and give them my details.

May have heard through the great vine from a friend of a friend who knows a friend who may now be an enemy that could possibly be the person who ordered to this drop, that the package was either 10g of amphet like substance or 25g of amphet like substance, this means there may be 1 more parcel heading to his house, in his name this time apparently.

How fucked am I? I dont actually have any illegals in my home, but it may be a fuck around to deal with, as people might start looking under every nook and cranny, throwing shit at walls trying to make it stick, I have no proof it was the other guy who sent it just a rumor at the moment.

Is there a way to get him to hand over the package so I can dispose of it? If I visited him what would be the best approach?

P.S im currently residing in the big beautiful island that is inhibited by kangaroos, crocadiles and koalas

Once package was open, he could have put anything he wanted in it and claimed it was there when he opened it. He could have sent himself empty box, and filled it with drugs after it got to his house. Unless he opened it in front of cop, it's all hearsay.

[38 Points] whiteyno1:

There is nothing to gain with your visit. You do not know anything and ignore his threats.

[24 Points] FagDamager:

don't go. he opened your mail = illegal and has given you an ultimatum (either come or I call the police) let him call them and you'll be cool when they see he's opened it - assuming you're US

the great vine

grape vine ;)

[9 Points] iLoveDNM:

Cut him off at the knees: call the police yourself and tell them he's trying to blackmail you. ;-)

[6 Points] None:

Do not go. It seems really sketchy. Assuming your house/computer is clean of anything illegal or potentially used for illegal purposes, (e.g. tor) then you have nothing to lose really. It might be a pain in the ass to deal with cops but it seems like it's going to be a huge pain in the ass to deal with this guy anyway, and at least police are kind of bound by some restriction governing their actions.

Seriously, if he calls the police and tells them a package arrived bearing a name similar to yours, it's a pretty big jump to assume you actually had any part in it if they have no other evidence. The cops might come and talk to you or something but if you play it smart it won't become an issue. That story is full of holes, it could be a plant, he could have ordered it, someone else could have, etc.

Alternatively, you can go to his house and deal with things on his terms. There's about a thousand possible ways it could go wrong. He could record you telling him what it is or even just discussing it (adding evidence to a possible case), he could try to make a citizen's arrest, the police might already be there when you arrive, or the whole thing might be a fabrication and he fucks you over in some other way.

Make sure everything is 100% clean from anything illegal, record any communications he has with you and refuse to meet him under any circumstances. There is nothing to gain from meeting with him and shitloads to lose. If you have to meet him, make it somewhere public in case it's just an elaborate plan to rob you or fuck you over somehow. Assume everything he does has a sinister motive and that every single action and communication with could end up in a court room.

I personally wouldn't be too worried but you can never be too cautious. Also fuck that guy.

I'd tell him you know nothing about it and ask him to leave you alone. Barring that call the cops yourself I guess.

[3 Points] None:

Sounds like hes annoyed you did that but isn't the kind to call the police on someone he knows but regardless would like the drugs out of his possession.

[2 Points] mechathatcher:

I hate to be the one giving the advice but you have to get in there first. Don't leave it too long between his phone call to you and you informing the police of his attempt at blackmail. As it stands he has a piece of his own property that he's written a name close to yours on. Don't do anything to change that . Definitely don't go round, could have the police waiting, shows intent to collect the drugs from him.

[1 Points] Fuckcuntfuckomgdrugs:

Cheers for the replies, going to see him after work and see how it pans out will keep you updated

[1 Points] ToiletSniffer1992:

He ordered drugs in your name.

[1 Points] Thameswater:

I could send a package to any address with any name.

He's in shit and trying to say it was you. Seek legal advice is what I'd say. He opened mail supposedly addressed to you and is threatening you

Plead the 5th.

[1 Points] PsychoNautJohn:

This is what happens when you try to be sneaky and don't order things directly to you.

[1 Points] None:

When do you get out of work? If I were you I wouldn't meet this guy. He seems full of it.

[1 Points] brightBlinker:

Who's to say the gentleman in question didn't order the package in your name?

Although a simple case in personality/age profiling may destroy the entire premise of this accusation, it is still a technical possibility if you indeed have no evidence to link the activity to you.

I wouldn't necessarily call his bluff and say, "Ay mate so fuckin wat. It weren't me so throw it on the barbie and call the bronze."

And I wouldn't do this in a threatening way, but talk to the gentleman and describe the delicate situation he's put both you and him in by accepting, opening and holding this package.

If it wasn't indeed you who ordered the package then you really stand to lose nothing. Go identify it and tell him gladly to throw it out, thus confirming your innocence (if you don't care about 10g+ of product, you obviously aren't the one who put a lot of $$ into it).

We don't know the whole story, only you do. So you're the person in the position to make the best call. Do so wisely and if you call the man's bluff, be prepared to defend yourself.

Good luck mate.

[1 Points] TripAddict:

He opened it, his property. Simple. Also, nothing illegal with using tor whatsoever.

[1 Points] IFEAndLoveIt:

Here are my questions:

1) how long have you worked for him?

2) how was your working relationship prior to this?

3) is the guy normally very nice or is he very difficult to work for?

Let me know and I think I might have an idea for you.

[1 Points] delvx:

Theres no proving thats yours. Dont fucking go near it dont touch it end all contact dont talk about it.

Theres nothing that would ahve stopped this person from ordering the item themselves and having your name put on it.

This is the 'evil ex-girlfriend' defense, but your evil ex is even holding the package. Leave it be. If anything, call the cops and tell them this guy is threatening to send drugs to your house. Watch while they bust him for possession, terroristic threats, tampering with evidence, ect.

They cant prove you asked for it. They can prove he's holding it and it came to his house. As far as the cops are concerned blaming you is just that - blaming someone else once you get busted - something EVERY criminal EVER has done.

If this was a crime nothing would stop me from ordering mail to my own home under all my enemies names and having them all arrested.

[1 Points] Zalastar:

Save yourself the drama and move on. Tell him to wank off and have a nice day. What bothers me is that I am assuming this guy was a friend that you worked for and he is treating you like that.

Deny everything and say nothing. Let him worry about it. Its out of your hands (literally and fortunately)

[1 Points] None:

Arent you worried the cops are going to see this thread, honestly?

[1 Points] None:

Tell him its ensyte or what ever that shit people take to make there cocks bigger. Or anything really embarrassing...think anal nitrite

[1 Points] Fuckcuntfuckomgdrugs:

Hopefully sorted now, told him the truth that it wasnt me and someones fucking with us and to do what he wants with the package but to not bring that sort of shit to my door
