Concerned with picking up package

Hi guys, I had a package arriving today from a friend (not a vendor). I received a notice in my mailbox saying they attempted to deliver the package, but that it needed to be signed. There's no name left on the notice, only the address. I've read that signing for a package is a big no no, but the contents are heat-sensitive.

Should i go and pick up the package based the situation

Mark redeliver in the slip with instructions to leave package on porch. Clip that slip on your mailbox (or raise the flag) so the postman picks it up. They make mistakes like that all the time. Don't answer the for is postman rings bell or knocks. You'll have your shit in 2 days.

I've confirmed with him that he chose the "signature waived" option, so now i'm even more concerned about a possible sting, although the package was not quite bulk, so i'm less worried.

99/100 times that slip means your package delivery postman is a lazy bastard. they have huge routes and its way farking faster for them to hand out notes from the comfort of the van than to try and deliver packages ( on time ). the post office uses separate people to deliver packages and mail in most areas now. fill out the slip, drop it in the mail and wait. doesn't matter what it says, just make sure the printed name is slightly legible. they are lazy too and should just leave your box. if you want it somewhere special, tell them. leave on porch, in mailbox or whatever.

Never sign for a package. Seriously, would you sign for a package that may contain narcotics? No! don't be an idiot.
