Question About Drop

So a tenant just recently moved out of the place and still receives mail occasionally, and I am looking to use it as a drop. I have ordered a couple amazon packages to test.

My question is, is this a good idea?

PS: Tenant did drugs , would just deny

if the previous tenant puts in a change of address the pkg will b forwarded..

My only concern would be if the landlord caught that mail was still being sent to that address, or if a new tenant moved in at a time you didn't expect and he ends up with your package and starts some drama. If you're able to deal with both of those outcomes, it's not that bad of a drop.

The way I see it: that's generally a bad idea. Let's say the feds intercept & set up a controlled delivery. They're probably going to employ a ruse to get you to be in possession of the package ("possession = 9/10 of the law"), which is the same thing they would do anyway. Since you're the landlord, you'll be attached to any investigation and/or search warrant for the premises no matter who they suspect is the intended recipient.

But if you use your previous tenant's name on the package, well, that's fucked up and unethical, and I would encourage you not to do this on those grounds alone, never mind the fact that it might not even save your ass in the end should it come down to it.

Moreover, it wouldn't be fair to bring down a shit storm on your former tenant who—despite whatever character defects they may have—doesn't deserve it in the least. Yeah maybe they'd be exonerated, but not before having their laptop and mobile devices confiscated for months by the DEA and having their life rummaged through by savage goons hiding behind a badge. That would be shit karma, but I guess only if one believes what goes around comes around.

Think about what you're saying. Are you that kind of person? You'd be okay with that? Blaming it on the tenant "indirectly" because he "did drugs"? Harsh judgment for an individual considering framing an unwitting fall guy after casting aspersions on same individual for also doing drugs.
