USPS just misdelivered a bulk order addressed to me

I'm a newer but up and coming vendor. It was a popular RC that may or may not apply to the analogue act. I know it wasn't the fault of my vendor, and there were no shipping delays, so I know it wasn't LE that took it.

It was delivered to a house/apartment (maybe just a little ways away according to the tracking) - a specific person signed for it. My guess is that since they were big enough cunts to accept and sign for something that wasn't theirs, that they'll open it too.

From there we have 3 scenarios, in order of likely probability: A) they call the cops B) they throw it out and do nothing C) they're drug savvy and keep it, since it's worth a good bit of money.

Rule #1 in DNM's - hope for the best, assume the worst. I'm going to clean house and lay low for at least a week. How else should I proceed? I feel like given the circumstances LE would have an extremely hard time making a case out of this - then again they have nothing better to do, and they're cunts.

Thoughts?

they can't call the cops on you because of the chain of custody. once they signed for and opened the package they had legal ownership over it, and therefore could have swapped out the contents before reporting you. Since the act of opening the package was illegal, they are officially screwed if they tried to report you.

You better hope they don't ingest it and die....because you'll be a suspect in a murder case. And you bet your ass they're coming to you first because the package had your name on it.

Kill them and take it.

[13 Points] None:

Go knock on that persons door and ask for your package. If it's opened, mention what they did was illegal and ask for your contents.

Worst comes worst call in a tip.

If they signed for it then they would of opened it, if it was of no interest to them im sure they would throw it out considering they signed for it, either that or they keep it.

[4 Points] vwermisso:

Go and ask about it. Leverage your legal advantage here.

Really though your not thinking calmly this is a pretty simple situation where the few factors that would change the outcome are how your local LE opperate. If they are not the most gung-ho group of people around you should be inquiring about the package. If they are draconian as fuck you still might be best inquiring about the package.

Not speaking from experience, but my feeling here is that waiting a week doesn't help you in either case. If LE doesn't get the package you're just wasting a week for no reason. It they do have it, they still need to launch an investigation to try and figure out where you sent it from, and then wait for you to send more packages and zero down on your identity. This will take much more than a week and you not vending now won't make a difference. I would say, either wait 4-6 months or move to another city/neighborhood. Obviously this is hard advice to take, but just trying to offer my logical view of the possible outcomes.

Imagine they thought they'd hit the jackpot getting some fire coke through the mail and snort an absolutely massive line of something that should be taken in tiny doses...

Mind saying what RC it was ?

I'm confused...is it international? Why was a signature required?

[2 Points] SirFoxx:

Well, you can call USPS and tell them it was misdelivered. They should go there and retrieve it. As someone has signed for it so they know who to contact. Also, whoever got this, if they had any brains would not open it. If they have, they've committed a federal offense.

Good luck man, have 1 failed federal investigation. /u/changetip

deny package had not knowledge of it being sent to you?

Would law enforcement in this case be the postal police or the local PD? I think depending on who they call, it can change the response time. Are you in the same jurisdiction as the recipient?

[1 Points] concernisgrowing:

I thought that RC's get shipped with official looking paperwork and labels that give the chemical name and say "For GMSC sample reference only. Not for human consumption." I'd say there's a good chance random person wouldn't make the connection. On the flip side, if your box contains a large bag of white powder stuffed in a teddy bear, thats not good. Some people may disagree but, nonchalantly signing for a package without checking address is a fairly common occurrence if you shop online. IME, most carriers forego the process of checking the address and confirming your ID. Scary but true. I'd advise you do some basic google & white pages research on this person's name. Cross reference signer's name with your location (city, sate). Hopefully, they have a unique name with a public phone and address entry in the white pages. If possible, check for profiles on facebook, linkedIn, etc. and blogs too. Make sure their occupation isn't listed as "policeman" on FB page, lol.

Afterwards, I'd say to drive over and wait at a good distance in the parking lot. Try to see what the person looks like. Use these observations and go with your gut about knocking on their door.

How many days has it been? If it was yesterday or today, he may have realized his mistake and decide to take it back to the post office unopened.

I would call ask where it went n get it but I'm no one to listen to just what I wud do if it were in the grey area of the law Also if someone accidentally signed for it being that they didn't open it and dont like drugs they'll have it sent back themselves Anyways wish u luck

Rule number 1 is never use your own address

If it has your name on it, then go over there and ask for it. Opening mail that isn't under your name is a crime that most people are aware of. But then again, you're dumb enough to check your tracking and have your IP recorded by USPS. I'd retire on the vending thing if you can't handle basic OPSEC and writing down a correct address
