mobile geo locating drug sniffing technology

this type of mass spectrometer, could start ruining people's lives soon. the implications are vast, and questionably legal. the agent at the end of the article says they don't see any legal issues because nobody owns the airwaves ? regardless of the infringement on people's privacy that statement is absurd, airwaves are a highly regulated spectrum and not free to do with as people please.

Sounds a lot like Breaking Bad...

a vehicle capable of detecting trace amounts of illicit substances in the air and then pinpointing the exact location of the source on a map.

Oh come on. You gotta be kidding me.

Am I too high to understand that's actually possible or are these guys just on deliriants?

Pelley said he expects police departments across the country to begin using drug-sniffing technology to find and bust drug dealers and users as soon as it proves viable — until the courts rule that they shouldn't.

"I expect them to implement it as soon as they can," he said. "The Constitution isn't something that really holds them up. They just kind of proceed until a court tells them they can't."

Disgusting

Meth, PCP, and synthetic opiates like fentanyl "are the ones that people are actually manufacturing in large quantities," Verbeck said.

Lol since when? Isn't this suppose to be in the USA ? Maybe meth, but I don't recall reading about too many other lab busts in the USA
