Open discussion on Hiding drugs from dogs IN HOUSE
-Thoughts on Mylar/Vacuum Sealed bags with proper handling? -What about keeping something in an attic, above your head? I heard the "smell cone" generally rises and dogs keep their heads to the ground a lot. -Anyone have experience with drug dogs WHILE your pet, or another dog was around? What happened, how did the dog/police react. -Anyone used any tricks successfully?
Please don't make this a debate over psychological tricks used/can be used.
Have been searched one time by a K-9 and it was on my car, I had a safe with drugs (multiple kinds) in back seat. Dog took two walks around car and finally alerted after almost completing last lap. When the dog entered the vehicle, he ran around the inside of the car from the front to the back, hopping over the safe twice and not barking. Eventually I caved under my own stupidity and told the officer i had a firearm in the vehicle, which led to him discovering my safe also.
Soo a few months down the road, im on probation. Was wondering what steps i could do to prevent a dog from alerting on somthing, IF i decided to keep something in my house. As of right now Im playing it safe and not keeping anything on me or around me.
Also, What drugs are dogs typically trained to smell?
Questions, thoughts, storys!
Ok, dogs are really good at picking up smells, so why not try to make everything smell? As an example, let's say you want to hide some weed. Get a bunch of sticky, oily, THC-laden residue all over your fingers, and then rub those fingers all over a bunch of surfaces throughout your home: under tables, inside cabinets, etc. Maybe even drop some actual pieces of grind on thick carpet...too small for police to actually find, pick up, and say they found something, but enough to give off a smell.
Theoretically, this will make a dog alert constantly, but the alerts will seem like false alarms to its handler.
