[opsec] Is it potentially impossible for LE to get you if you follow all of the steps listed here?

Hi /darknetmarkets

Was thinking in hypotheticals today as you do and was wondering if you followed all the necessary precautions, is it actually possible for LE to catch you?

Example case DNM user creates fresh account with a fresh laptop/tablet not linked to them on a wireless connection that is also not linked to them with no cameras around, DNM user has bought bitcoin prior to this and has sourced it in such a way that is not traceable by LE (i.e. face to face) and then has tumbled it multiple times.

DNM user orders something like 1kg cocaine from XX country to XX country via a privnote/other self destructing message sent via PGP and ships it to his own house under their own name.

After this they proceed to destroy their laptop/tablet in a way so that the data is not recoverable.

LE seize this package on its way to them and then raid him or her finding nothing obscure and no signs of any nefarious activity, can LE do anything more?

Law enforcement can ALWAYS get you

[2 Points] None:

the feds don't fuck around. if you're indicted, you're convicted 98% of the time

[2 Points] dawgiee:

They wouldn't have shit on you. If they go as far as raiding your house and finding nothing, then they have nothing to prove their case. A package of drugs addressed to you is not enough to build a case on.

However, LE are dicks and they will probably fuck with you, scare you, do everything in their power to get you to confess, and even if you are smart enough to keep your mouth shut and ask for a lawyer before saying a fucking word, you can consider your address burned and they will be watching your ass for a bit.

Feds can do whatever they want and if they decide to bring charges against you you're going down 98% of the time. In your scenarios it is a very weak case, but someone who is ordering keys isn't doing it for personal consumption and most certainly wouldn't be his first time ordering/selling.

Federal prosecutors will find a hole and then fuck you to death in it.

Add. "and get a competent criminal lawyer"
If LE can't get you there, they will get you when you move it.

if you followed those steps perfectly, I'd say that yeah you are golden.

one more thing would be to have a smurf buy the laptop for you, or get it off craigslist (using another burner laptop/smartphone, of course) in a place without cameras or something. in the event they do obtain it/it gets infected with malware, it wouldnt be difficult to run some serial numbers from the laptop, then check security footage at the store you bought it. would also try to use wifi in a place without cameras, or at least sit in a place where you aren't visible to them. if you wnna go the extra mile, you should have a smurf buy the BTC too, in the off chance LE subpoenas the seller, and then checks the cameras at that location to see who the coins were sold to.

everyone is spouting that 98% statistic...that still means 1 in 50 people don't get convicted. highly doubt the first 49 were as prepared as what OP is describing. that being said...if you do do it, I would only do it once. even if the first time seems like it went smoothly, you never know if it was actually intercepted and they are just starting to build a case against you.

By FEDS to you all mean FBI and DEA? Or also including county police?
