Can someone recommend a VERY accurate milligram scale?

Need to accurately measure doses as little as 1mg.

You can't measure 1 mg without spending hundreds/thousands of dollars, having a sealed chamber etc. Even regular air movement will throw that off.

Your best bet is volumetric dosing for something that small.

You're going to need an analytical balance for that precision, which is a balance that is accurate to .0001 grams (0.1 mg). A balance that measures only to .001 grams (1 mg) won't work because it's accuracy is plus or minus one milligram. The cheapest thing you are going to find that is what you can find on eBay by searching "Lab Digital Analytical Balance Precision Electronic Scale 120 x 0.0001g 0.1mg." There is one listed from China for $325 + $90 shipping, or a Chinese model shipped from the U.S. for $534.99 with free shipping.

I have no idea how reliable something this cheap is since balances of known reliability with an accuracy of .1mg are mostly over $1000.

Good luck.

That's the one. You've gotta throw down if you wanna get it really accurate.

Analytical balances.

Gemini-20. Ain't best but it sure gets the job done.

Make blotters. I usually buy a half g of alp powder and just make blotters out of it.

what's you're budget for this purchase?

[1 Points] justaniceyoungman:

Like others have said you can't get a result that precise without dropping thousands on a scale.

I use a Gemini-20 scale and it is pretty accurate but nowhere near safe when it comes down to one or less milligram

That's why I use Acetyl Fent instead of regular Fent since Acetyl is more forgiving and can spare one more or less milligram.

The Gemini-20 is actually pretty accurate though for being a <$30 scale.

Why not volumetrically dose? All you'd need is a milligram scale (like a $20 Gemini-20), a solvent, and some bottles.

use volumetric dosing

You can't measure 1mg accurately, a chemist knows would know that so I hope you're not trying to do chemistry or ingesting any very potent drugs if you don't know what you are doing.

A chemist weighs out a measurable amount, dissolves it in a large known volume, then uses a known small portion of the solution.

just use volumetric dosing dude

you gotta do volumetric dosing bud

Ebay a Mettler Toledo, Sartorius or something equivalent balance. Something that can read down to .001g. Balance has to be level (they come with bubble levels). Confirm weight with a calibration weight prior to each use.

That said, 1mg has a lot of fluctuation based on air flow. And since these scales only read down to .001g, you could be getting anywhere from 0.5mg to 1.4mg.

Better off weighing out something like 10mg and doing volumetric dosing as others said.

Yea man, don't try to measure single doses. Not even with a true analytical lab grade scale. For instance, I lay my 25b-nbome at ~300ug per dose. I'll weigh out 30 mg, which even with a cheap scale, can be off by +/-5 mg. I would much rather my 30 mg be off by a few mg than my 1 mg be heavy by 4 mg...because obviously the scale isn't going to say -3 mg is it now? Stick to laying a somewhat bulk amount. Doesn't need to be kingpin level quantities. So what I'm getting at here, is even if a 30 mg weigh is actually heavy by 5 mg, the most damage that would do to my laying accuracy is a matter of what, 25-50 ug? Now, I understand that this can be dangerous for fentanyl, I have no experience dosing that drug nor do I have any intention to do so ever in my life. If this be your case though, you might want to look into micro pipettes as well. I've never used one, so I'm not sure which 'size' you should get for whatever you are using. But this would a safe bet for making a medium quantity of solution and trying single doses to make sure your solution is where you want it to be. It's always better to have your shit underlaid rather than overlaid if you ask me. Unless it's LSD, that at least can't cause too much harm technically.

If you are willing to spend at least 2-3k minimum, lab and university grade scales are what you want.

After doing a lot of research but not quite willing to shell out $150 I finally decided on the Gem-50, and so far this one at it has worked great for me: Smart Weigh High Precision Digital Milligram Scale Gem-50 especially if you use the method ATalkingOcelot mentions in this thread. For example weigh an empty Type 0 gelatin capsule (usually 100mg), put your stuff is in there, weigh again, subtract 100mg. Is a lot more accurate than putting the empty gelatin capsule on there and hitting tare.

I bought one off Amazon for like $15 and it works great. I use it when I order Alp powder or Etiz powder etc. After I weigh whatever I have I ALWAYS mix it with something soluble like grain alcohol or PG and so far no problems. Been doing this for a while now and making candies to eat. Check on Amazon and make sure u get one that measures anything from 1-10 grams down to 0.00

Hope this helps.
