Local markets in US?

I just came back from Russia and saw something cool there. They have darknet marketplaces targeting local markets (big cities). Instead of mailing the package of drugs, the vendor would, after receiving payment, let the buyer know where in the city "the drop" is hidden. They would give coordinates and describe location in detail. The buyer then would drive over and find the drop based on the description. The drop is called "zakladka" in Russian. Is there a word for this in English and is this a thing in US?

It's called a dead drop and it gets used everyday in North America

Wouldn't work in the US I think. Too much LE who would set up drops and then arrest you. I think he talks about 'RAMP' (thats the russian market). Here's an article about it http://www.wired.com/2014/11/oldest-drug-market-is-russian/ correct me please if I'm wrong!

I heard about that on a /r/drugs post about russia. That's really cool and we should start it up in the US. I'm very doubtful this exists in the US and if it does it's very unpopular. Let's kickstart this betch

They are called dboys and can be found in economically depressed metropolitan areas across the US.

We need drones to do our dirty work.

Vendor would have drone and put whatever drugs you order on it. Then fly to customers house and drop it off. ;)

Dun dun dunnnnnn

There was a market that announced here that tried to implement this if I'm not mistaken. Same concept that you are talking about - but I guess it went nowhere as I haven't heard shit about it. Overall, I think its a risky idea. For this to work, vendors and buyers alike would need to reveal their location. Then you don't know if the vendor you are buying from is LE or not. Too damn easy to set up a watch and nab buyers.

Theyve done stuff like this in the US and been busted.
