Last week I posted that I was donating all of my profits for the week to help the relief effort in Nepal after the devastating earthquake. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Nepal_earthquake)
You can read the original post here, and my explanation of why I was publicly announcing my donation ahead of time, rather than doing it in secret like a more noble person would, here.
I wrote some high-and-mighty stuff; how this community ought to be better known for being a net positive on society, how buy buying/selling online we're keeping crime off the streets, and other such lofty back-patting. After having some time for reflection (and reading up on how bad the effects of the earthquake are) I decided to put my money where my mouth was, so to speak, and increase my donation to 25 BTC ($5,848 at the time of donation).

To be clear, this is MUCH more than a week of profits for me. I just want to help. And this is what I had the savings and means to do.
Maybe other vendors are doing this all of the time, only they're classy enough to keep quiet about it. I don't know. I just feel that being public about this donation will be a 'win' for our side, and maybe inspire other vendors/markets to be more forthcoming in their charity work as well.
Thanks for being a part of this with me,
Trip
Note - I'm writing this several days after the donation was made because I didn't want to risk my BTC address being flagged by bitpay and the funds withheld from the relief effort.
You are a top bloke!
