Now, I'm not at all suggesting anything (OK alittle bit), this is an observation and private opinion.
Gabralkhan. Did anyone else feel like he/she was trying really hard to get moderator status? Admittedly I didn't check his/her post history, but whilst I was lurking over the last two months he/she was being super active. Not only in the amount of his/her posts, but in the thought that went into them. < That reads like a reason to make him/her a mod, but the time from first posting reasonable theories, to being a mod seems very short. Gabralkhan has made some errors of judgement on here, and seems to get involved in conversations about contentious issues in the same way he/she did before being a mod. Am I out of order? I'm super suspicious, much in the same way that I'm super supsicious that the_avid has gone from arch-enemy to friend of Drugslist in a week. I don't doubt the_avid's skills, but his motives, although friendly now, could be used against us all. Although unlikely, he really may be LE. Use unique usernames, always PGP and only FE for vendors that can prove themselves to you. Play safe. p.s. Drugslist works well, I've used it. Follow the advice above and stay safe.
Well, you basically answered your own question. Khan was invited to mod because he's helpful and very active. It doesn't take much to be a mod here. Most of us are just security conscious users, enjoy the scene, and like to help others out. Being a mod of this place doesn't really give you access to anything you guys don't have as readers of this place. Khan hasn't abused his position as a mod so I see any reason for him not to be on the team. On the contrary he's been very helpful and is always thinking up ways to improve the sub. Plus he's in a different timezone than most of the other mods so that keeps this place on watch 24/7. And like I said, being a mod isn't that glorious. You don't get anything but upvotes for the time you put into this place and its not much more than removing referral links and invite codes so that the spam here is kept to a minimum.
