Package Seized, No customs letter? (Canada)

So I ordered 100+ grams of a research chemical that may or may not be controlled under the analog laws of my country. It says it has been "held" by customs under tracking info. It has been two months since it arrived in customs, about a month since the status changed. Why haven't I received a letter? Will they try to get warrant/ is one package enough for probable cause? I tried googling around for research chemical arrests, but only found one about a guy importing kilos upon kilos of mephedrone. Any further reading would be appreciated.

Obviously that address is burnt and I will never order from there again, just curious about the rest.

Unfortunately there isn't a catch-all answer here, even if we knew the chemical and if it is covered under analog acts. They're simply isn't a single protocol that gets followed every time one is found in customs. Amounts, frequency, etc, would all come into play, but at the end of the day, things like this are handled on an individual basis. There are just too many variables to consider.

Canada does not seem to aggressively pursue buyers of smaller amounts of research chemicals, but honestly, nobody here would have a simple answer or know what is happening.

You're already doing exactly what you should be. Contact the vendor about refunds if they offer them, and don't continue to use that address.

I know you realise the address is burned. But is it the address you reside at?

I wouldn't be shocked if you got questioned months later. So I'd keep your place clean. Even if it's in a gray area, 100g is a sizeable amount
