My order of seven psilocybin vials came in today, and I was giddy with excitement to try some. It was my first time doing a psychedelic of any sort, and I was also alone. Although I knew it was ideal to have a tripsitter for first time experiences of the sort, I decided to go it alone. I opened a vial, mixed it with some water, and gulped it down.
I'll cut to the chase: Overall, the experience was unfortunately lackluster. Some things to note: I'm six feet tall and weigh 140 pounds. Not exactly Hulk Hogan material, so I expected it to hit me hard. Nope. Kinda crept up, but I'll get to that later. The liquid inside the vials was clear and smelt like ethanol but had a swirling sediment of what I would guess would be the psilocybin component(?). You could see it when you held it up to the light. One vial had an IMMENSELY differing amount of sediment deposit inside of it (to the point where you could call it 'cloudy') while the others had relative same amounts (dispersed, flaky). I'd already taken my dose, but discovering this night and day difference between this vial and the others made me question whether the dosing was done correctly in this batch. This leads me to the trip itself.
After about an hour, the most I felt was slightly high as if I took some bong hits but with a slight bit of visual distortion akin to the sort of bugging-out movements you'll get from staring at one object too long. No waves of emotion or visuals on the comeup, just an ebbing creep akin to a low-dose marijuana edible. The fact that I had the faculty and sobriety to legitimately comprehend and ponder the placebo effect after T-1.5hrs was pretty much my answer enough: the vial was unfortunately underdosed. I saw someone else describe their trip off one of these vials as more emotional and less visual, but I never felt any of the classical welling-up of emotions and feelings that takes you places. No epiphanic self-discovery, not even a slightly negative turn where you "work through your emotional shit" and come out of the trip glowy and self-improved. Pretty much nothing other than my self-analyzing brain trying to differentiate between the effects of a low-dose psilocybin trip and the placebo effect. I wanted it to be so much more, but it sadly didn't deliver. Just this nauseous feeling of "is it about to really kick in now?".
Conclusion: Trip, you seem like an honest, awesome guy. I was super excited to try these based off of the raving testimonials I'd read and whatnot. My experience is in no way an assertion that you underdosed deliberately or had any ulterior motives with this batch. I only did one vial because your page said that one vial was the equivalent of 2gs of shrooms and that one vial was ideal for a first-timer like me. Heck, you even said take ¾ of it if you're lightweight (which I ignored despite being lightweight myself) and I still felt very minimal effects. Either I'm some kind of anomaly born with an innate superhuman tolerance to psilocybin, or this (or these) vials are underdosed. The stark disparity between the vial full of swirling sediment deposit and the others makes me wonder if that one is the quintessential TripWithScience experience and the others are not as such. I would love some clarity on this, as I am only making a hypothesis with no understanding on the actual manufacturing process. I'm going to message him on the DN if he doesn't respond to this thread himself. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts or any similar experiences. Peace.
1st post I've seen that wasn't stellar about Trip....good read nonetheless!
