Real 'fake' name?

I live in rented flat and I often receive letters addressed (from banks, general spam etc) to person who lived here before me. Is it wise, and more safe to order items from DNM on this name? I know it is strongly advised against to use fake name, but this name is real.

If you decide to use a fake name. Can you use the name Allahu Akbar, and please update this thread afterwards

No, there's a chance the mail could be forwarded to a new address or raise other red flags.

Use your real name.

Using a name that isn't the name of a real resident of your home means:

Just use your real name. You have the same plausible deniability either way, and if you use your name you aren't committing any extra crimes that you don't need to be.

The previous tenant wouldn't forget where he lives and accidentally write his old one.

I lived in a place where the same guy kept getting junk mail. At least two pieces of mail a day. So about a year later I said fuck it and started ordering under this guys name. Worked like a charm :) But ya make damn sure you've been living there a while and the guy is still getting mail.

Just call yourself Michelle Leonhart. Come to think of it, why would the head of the DEA need to buy her drugs online?

Depends on how things work in your country. In the UK for example, it's possible to set up redirection so that all of your mail is redirected to your new address (for up to two years, it's not permanent), but I get the distinct impression many people don't use the service at all.

Here you can (informally) use any like you like, except in some rare cases like giving your name to the police. Other than that you can receive mail in any name. The only real hold up is that it's an offence to open mail addressed to someone else.

So in this case, if you pinched someone else's name and their bank statement came through, it'd be an offence to open it, especially if you knew it wasn't addressed to "you" (ie, it's a bank your not with).

But if it's something that "you" ordered (like ooh, I don't know, highly embarrassing sex toys, I mean, who orders drugs in the post, really?), same name or not, you're fine to open it.

Before the dnms I ordered some truffles from NL under the name " Reci Pient " . Got through, never had any problems, realized how stupid it was to do afterwards.
