USPS Tracking Gone Wild

I have been expecting a package to be delivered priority mail and according to the tracking it was originally supposed to be delivered yesterday but that changed later for today after the package reached a sorting center on the way to my destination. That is no big deal as I have seen that happen a few times and the package arrived safely with no issues. However, this time the package did not arrive today as the tracking had the estimated delivery date by and this makes it 4 days on a USPS priority mail package. Again, no big deal it could just be running late for one of the multiple legitimate reasons which causes USPS packages to run behind. However, what is very odd about the tracking was it showed the package actually arrive at the sorting center get processed and then depart. Then about 3 hours later it returned again to the same processing center then left again about another 3 hours after that. OK well I guess the third time is a charm for this package because it arrived back at the same processing center only to finally depart again early this morning. There are no further tracking updates after this.

What I find even more odd is that the tracking entries from the previous two arrivals and departures no longer appear in the scanning history. They have been completely removed. I find this very strange and wonder if anyone has seen anything like this from USPS before. I know that they are prone to do crazy shit but the removal of the tracking entries really has me wondering if this package has been compromised somehow and LE is trying to cover their tracks in hopes of a CD with the package. Considering that Monday is a holiday it would be Tuesday before they may attempt a delivery if the package was detected but all of this crazy movement with this package has me really wondering what the hell is going on with it.

TBH it doesn't sound like LE. While LE can be incompetent this just sounds like USPS being incompetent. I'm pretty sure I've seen tracking entries disappear before (on clearnet packs). I always suspect its to cover up their fuckups or when they have entries that are coming and going from the same place multiple times a day, it gets auto-removed.. Just a theory, but I've seen weird shit with tracking before.

Chances are you are fine. You wouldn't have those scans if LE were involved. It'd look as normal as possible.

USPS fucks shit up sometimes. It recently happened to me that a pack I sent got lost and it still just says "delayed" and I doubt it will ever surface. I rarely have problems, but when there is a problem, the computer system doesn't have a good way of telling us what's going on. It just says "out for delivery - delayed" and then nothing. Sometimes shit falls off a truck, or out of a box, or sometimes a mail truck gets in an accident and a pack goes under the bridge never to be seen again. And sometimes a nosy little mail man likes to get free drugs.....

Sounds like the postal service just messed up delivering it and their automated systems couldn't sort it out on its own. The only time I've ever seen a package taken out of the system was another thread on here and the tracking updated as "Postal inspector has taken this package. Please call blah blah blah" or something like that but yeah it would def. say the postal inspector is involved if they found your drugs.

Is it a small amount/personal use? I am almost 100% sure you'll be fine.

You've discovered that the post office is incompetent. Good job. You should've already known this though
