The last person you expected to be using drugs.

Does that happen a lot? Like finding out your dickhead manager happened to be one of the biggest pothead in the town or seeing your coworker's face on the police blotter charged with driving while high on meth or some shit. I expect many professionals and rich people are secretly into drugs.

I'm a professional and I use drugs. Not nearly as much as I used to though.

It's easier to not get arrested when you don't look all gangster and shit.

It's not really that uncommon. A lot of intelligent people who lead successful careers and a happy life take drugs. Each will have different reasons. Some people like to explore different states of consciousness or discover more about themselves and the way we work. Some people want the experience and some people do it as stress relief, a way of chilling out and unwinding.

Then some people just want to get high as shit, no judgement here.

I know of a university lecturer who is a bigger coke head than I am. His lectures apparently go on forever

Drugs are a pretty significant part of the human experience. I remember seeing some statistic that said ~50% of the population have used a recreational drug at some point in there lives, although I may just be full of shit. Basically, not everyone who is a 'druggy' fits the stereotype. It's a shame that such a big part of life is shunned and stigmatized.

many professionals use drugs, especially coke and other stuff that you can do and it doesn't take away from your work skills.

I've got a mate who's a consultant psychiatrist, who likes weed and coke. But he's kinda cool, somehow you'd expect him to.

All the dickhead bosses I ever had, didn't do drugs.

lol. Funny this was brought up. I found out by happenstance someone i know professionally smokes regularly. Bc he had no clue as to my proclivities towards various substances, he never told me. He accidentally gave me a hint and then said he was a regular smoker. I'm not a smoker, prefer the opioids myself. He was pretty surprised as to my use as well. I'm older, professional and don't fit the supposed stereotype. It's still pretty damn taboo though and most people, including me, would never admit to it. It can cause a lot of career issues obviously so people keep quiet about it.

So while I am sometimes surprised, I know by now that I shouldn't be surprised by that sort of thing. Dickhead bosses might be dickheads bc they are not using or withdrawing. Lol. Although I've worked with people who are volatile and did a lot of coke or amps.

Yes.. all types of people use drugs. I've met people from all walks personally. No barriers to heroin and cocaine addiction.

My job requires me to be on the ball Monday to Friday, but when the weekend starts, that's MY time and i get as high as i possibly can goddamit.

[2 Points] Chronicpurple:

Usually, it's the other people who're surprised when they find out I smoke weed.

There was this dude who was a regular at a bar that me and the old lady used to frequent. This was in a big east coast city about 10 years ago. Dude was the epitome of harmless, mid 40s, taught middle school or something. One day the biggest weed delivery service in the city got busted. Turned out, he was the freaking kingpin of the whole operation. We never even knew he got high.

driving while high on meth

You clearly have not met anyone who does meth.

This has been going on for a long, long time.

the funny thing is! that its the smartes and most intelligent people who use drugs. now you might start to disagree with me but check it out for your self its absalutly true.i mean think about it dumb people are just to scared to experiance something totally new. or to even take the risk of the experiance. unlike intelligent people are much more willing to take that leap into the unknown. i mean for christ sakes. look at alex shulgin dedicated his life litteraly to designing and taking drugs. and in the chemical enginering feild itself its pretty common that they make and take their own drugs.now dont get me wrong alot of people who use drugs are not the brightest people and some are out right retarded. but what i am saying is dont be suprised when you find out that some one you8 would think is to smart to take drugs. because the smarter some one is the more likely they are to use drugs. and sure some end up abusing them which doesnt make them look to smart. but thats life and why we are where we are in life is because some times smart people make bad choice. that and there is just some really smart bad people.
