Inside TAO: Documents Reveal Top NSA Hacking Unit. TAO probably helped to take SR 1.0 Down associated with FBI (not confirmed).

Here is an interesting Article about the TAO, The NSA Top Hacking Unit, his participation has been related to a lot of LE Operations including Drugs related Affairs around the world.

The connections to the SR 1.0 busts are not verified but it is very possible that TAO helped FBI to take SR Down, and after helped also to exploit the server seized to lead to the SR 2.0 Mods/Admins arrests (who were involved in SR 1.0 also).

EDIT : The user catherinecc has posted in his comments on this thread very interesting links about the NSA and how they works with other LE Agencies includind LE Drug Agencies like DEA :

"The SOD (Special Operation Division, DEA Unit) forwards tips gleaned from NSA intercepts"

NSA Program is said "To help the DEA and other law enforcement agents launch criminal investigations of drug dealers, money launderers and other common criminals, including Americans. The unit also handles global narco-terrorism cases."

"A document reviewed by Reuters shows that federal drug agents are trained to "recreate" the investigative trail to conceal the SOD's (Special Operation Division, DEA Unit) involvement."

And you think you can trust what DEA and FBI is telling you about how they investigate? Really?

A lot of things have been said on the Ulbricht and the SR 2.0 Mods/Admins arrests, but who said that? DEA and FBI, and they have so conveniently only used methods that any average internet user could use because Ulbricht did basic mistakes?

Yeah that is so convenient...and the snitching theory is also so convenient, nothing is compromised, everybody safe because Ulbricht in fact made a mistake and after have snitched leading to the arrests of SR 2.0 Admins.

So, in the end NSA and DEA claim they haven't used a single of their technological tool to investigate and we are supposed to trust them and their beautiful stories?

Personnaly I don't put so much credit in their bullshit talking, it is how they work.

The connections to the SR 1.0 busts have everything to do with clearnet references. They didn't need hackers to bust Ulbricht.
