Evolution: Sent bitcoin to same address from two different addresses

I just now saw that Evolution creates a new address for you to deposit after each time. I accidentally sent two different amounts from two different address to the same evo address at the same time. I only received one and am wondering if the other is gone forever?

Send a message to Evo support. They'll take care of you in no time.

I'm obviously biased here, but I've never understood what the point of this is -- it seems to create more problems for people than it solves. It arguably doesn't even solve any problem to begin with.

I get that people should theoretically use different addresses for each transaction, but presumably Evolution retains the private keys for all previous deposit addresses. So if the market is compromised, all wallet addresses can be tied to individual market accounts anyway, making it no safer than any other compromised dark market. It would only be more secure if Evolution deleted the private keys of old addresses. But that's not the case, otherwise the BTC would be lost forever, and support wouldn't be able to help.

Agora leaves it up to the user to decide if they want to generate a new deposit address. Even if the user generates a new address, and then accidentally sends coins to an old address, the coins will arrive anyway without needing to notify support.
