So I have been lurking here and occasionally posting for around 4 or 5 months and I have an honest question. How do you guys decide which noob posts to down vote and whose to up vote? I swear to god that there are days where this sub let's all these noob posts in and everyone comments and gives advice. And then like a little late someone posts another noon question and everyone is like fuck you gonna somewhere else noob. These posts often times are not different in their level of understanding, different subject matter though.
I try to always give a helpful kind answer when I can, because if I ever have a question (which I do have sometimes) I would really appreciate it if someone would do the same.
That being said there are a lot of questions asked here nearly everyother day (i.e Is it ok to go on Tor on my college campus WiFi & mail drugs to my dorm?) that a quick search on the side bar limited to this subreddit would quickly clear up without the clutter.
The worst part to this is people asks these questions really wanting to hear the convient answer (you don't actually have to learn PGP, You don't really need Tails, Getting drugs sent to school is bad) that even after giving them the truth they still try to justify the poor choice any way. At which point being a nice person I attempt to write a detailed reasoning as to why they should reconsider.
So I guess I upvote new questions that don't get asked often and people that seemed to have already searched.
I downvote people who are asking a question that gets asked every couple days and could easily be answered with a search.
