Hello all, I'm very very new to the entire DNM scene and I have a few very nooby questions. First (1.), I don't quite understand how the GPG on Mac works. Anyone who is an experienced user with GPG on mac please feel free to help. I'm mostly confused on how the messages are sent and received (from me to vendor etc.) Also, (2) I want to know other ways of getting BTC without a bank account (if there are any). Like if I could use a prepaid card or what. For the last thing, (3.) I would like to know what the chances are of getting a CD or a love letter are for about 5gish purchases. Any help is appreciated and I look forward to joining this part of the community!
1) GPGTools is what I use, it's very simple once you understand how it works.
Steps:
Download GPGTools, open up GPG Keychain
Click "New" this is going to create your key
Enter in fake name, you wont need an email
Click on "Advanced Options" uncheckmark "Key expires"
Set Length to 4096 (Not required, just safer)
Enter in a strong passphrase (Don't forget or you're screwed)
Confirm your passphrase, Click "Generate Key"
Once key has been made click "Export" button
Change file extension from ".asc" to ".txt" This will give you your public key, open file to see it
To get private key click on the key in GPG Keychain click export again, (Repeat step 8) but this time also check "Include secret key in exported file" this will give you private key, keep this safe and don't give it out to anyone!
Go to "System Preferences", open up "Keyboard"
Click "shortcuts" tab
On the left section there will be a section called "Services" click it
Scroll down to "Text" Label, it will have a upside down triangle beside it
Checkmark these items, "OpenPGP: Decrypt" "OpenPGP: Encrypt" "OpenPGP: Import key" now close "System Preferences"
Now your ready to go! Open up your browser of choice, go here GPGpractice use your new fake key for practice, optional, just good for practice with non-vendors sending messages back and forth
Create a post, copy your public key, paste in post, when you get a reply, copy down there key optional, just good for practice with non-vendors sending messages back and forth
Paste key in favourite text editor, highlight text, and right click on mouse or touchpad, scroll down to "Services" click "OpenPGP: Import Key", once imported you can delete the text
Open up your favourite text editor type anything you want "GPG FTW" it doesn't matter
Highlight text, and right click on mouse or touchpad, scroll down to "Services", Click "OpenPGP: Encrypt Selection"
A new box will open, for testing purposes you can choose your new testing account, or the GPGpractice key you imported
Uncheckmark "Add to Recipients", click "OK"
There you have it your very own PGP message!
If you clicked you own fake key, highlight your PGP encrypted message , and right click on mouse or touchpad, scroll down to "Services" click "OpenPGP: Decrypt", it should display the message you typed.
If you click the person helping you, only they can decrypt your message
If your getting an error let me know but these are the only steps you need to make a key, send and receive PGP messages. Its so easy once these steps are completed.
2) Bitcoin ATM's, or meet a person that has BitCoins you can exchange for cash in person, other than that can't help. 3) Don't know the odds sorry
